Thank you for your interest in visiting Xavier University. For the week of 12/16 - 12/20, our students will already be on Winter Break. Campus tours will go on as scheduled, however classes will not be in session. We are excited to offer in-person campus visit opportunities for prospective families!  This visit option starts with a 30 minute admission presentation followed by a tour led by a current student that goes inside our main campus buildings for a great insight into campus life.

• Your visit will include an Admission Presentation and Campus Tour.
• Campus visits are recommended for high school students/families starting the college search process or those interested in transferring from their current university to Xavier.
• Please plan to spend about 2 hours on campus.
• Please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Tours are held rain or shine!

In-Person Campus Tour Registration

To ensure the health and safety of visitors, XULA staff and students, the following guidelines have put implem ented (PLEASE READ FULLY BEFORE REGISTERING FOR A TOUR):

By registering for a campus tour, all visitors are digitally agreeing to all abide by all COVID-19 measures put in place when visiting campus. This includes wearing a mask/facial covering throughout the entire visit, social distancing, etc.

Upon checking in, each visitor will have their temperature checked.

All visitors and staff are required to wear masks at all times.

Campus tours will be limited to small groups. We ask that students visiting campus bring no more than one parent or guardian to accompany them on their tour.

Social distancing will be enforced on tours and during information sessions.

If you are unable to attend the campus tour for which you are registered, please reach to the Office of Admissions to cancel your tour registration so that space may be available for other potential visitors. You can also reach out to us in order to reschedule your tour.

The BE Project Tour Requirements & What to Expect

HBCU tours are an opportunity for High School students to experience Black college life for themselves. The tours allow students to visit multiple college campuses and meet with representatives from each school to get an “inside look”. If the student in your family is considering attendance at a Historically Black College or University, these tours will connect you with current students and admissions professionals who will give you the information you need to make the best choice for your student’s future.

General requirements to go on a tour:

• Must be 9th – 12th Graders
• Register for the tour
• Letters of recommendation
• Financial obligation
• Attend mandatory meetings starting in the Fall
• Attend informational meetings in the Spring,  watch for announcements]

Each tour package includes:

● Transportation to and from each HBCUs

● Knowledgeable chaperones

● Fun with other students

Fall 2024 Audition Information

Announcing AUDITIONS for Xavier Theatre’s Fall productions of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, NO EXIT, JANITOR'S CLOSET and THE CHOREOGRAPHERS' WORKSHOP!!

PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION BELOW!

DATES Auditions will take place August 23, 2023 – August 26, 2024. Callbacks will take place on Sunday, August 25 (and August 26 as needed). 

For JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR:

• Auditions will take place in multiple phases, including a general audition, dance call and callbacks. In-person, general auditions on Friday and Saturday will be held in the Gallagher Student Center Theatre.
• For the general audition, please sign up for a time on either Friday, August 23 from 6pm-10:30pm, or on Saturday, August 24 from 10:00am - 1:30pm here:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A084AABAE29AAFF2-50635702-xtfall#/
• Please prepare one of the character sides listed below. You can email Stephen Skiles, Director of Theatre, for the sheet music and accompaniment track for the song you choose at [email protected] . General auditions will be sung by using the tracks and not an accompanist.
• Auditioners must also sign up for a one-hour dance call on Saturday, August 24 at either 2:00pm, 3:00pm or 4:00pm. Please wear comfortable clothing to dance/move in and either gym or jazz shoes (anything with good traction by with no heels). • Please bring two copies of your headshot and resume to the general audition.
• Callbacks will take place on Sunday, August 25 from 1:00-7:00pm and again on Monday, August 26 (as needed) from 6:00pm - 10:30pm.

  For NO EXIT & JANITOR'S CLOSET

• Auditions for NO EXIT & JANITOR'S CLOSET will take place on Friday and Saturday (August 23 and 24) in the Gallagher Student Center Studio Theatre.
• Please sign up for one, 5-minute time slot on either Friday or Saturday at this link:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A084AABAE29AAFF2-50635859-xtfall#/
• Please prepare a 1-2 minute contemporary, dramatic monologue (for NO EXIT) and prepare one side from JANITOR'S CLOSET (please email Stephen Skiles at [email protected]  for sides). A reader will be in the room to perform the scene with you. Sides should not be memorized, but thoroughly prepared. The role you prepare may not be the only for which you are considered.
• Please bring two copies of your headshot and resume to the audition.
• Callbacks will take place on Sunday, August 25 from 1:00-7:00pm, and again on Monday, August 26 from 6:00-10:30pm (as needed)

  For THE CHOREOGRAPHERS' WORKSHOP:

• Auditions for THE CHOREOGRAPHERS' WORKSHOP will take place in the Dance Studio in Edgecliff Hall (201).

• Please wear clothes that you can dance and move in comfortably, along with either heels or jazz shoes (if you have neither, please wear sneakers).
• Please come warmed up and stretched out prior to your call.

OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS:

• All Xavier Theatre majors must audition for ALL shows. Non-majors can choose to audition for the show(s) of their choosing.

PLEASE NOTE THAT TECHNICAL REHEARSALS FOR JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR WILL RUN DURING FALL BREAK, AND ALL CAST AND CREW ARE REQUIRED TO BE AVAILABLE (OCT. 2-6).

Xavier University announces "Victory Parkway Preview" for upcoming basketball seasons

The Xavier University athletic departmen t presents the Victory Parkway Preview, an evening to tip-off the upcoming basketball season, on Monday, Oct. 2 at Cintas Center, according to a press release.

The Victory Parkway Preview will be hosted by FOX College Sports and Chicago White Sox broadcaster Jason Benetti and will include an open bar and hors d'oeuvres.

The event will preview the upcoming Xavier men's and women's college basketball seasons, talk about the state of college basketball and include special guest appearances by Big East Commissioner Val Ackerman, Sedler Family men's head basketball coach Sean Miller, first-year women's basketball head coach Billi Chambers and Greg Christopher, Vice President and Director of Athletics.

The evening opens with a cocktail reception, food stations and passed hors d'oeuvres at 6 p.m., with the program following at 7 p.m. Guests attending the event will get an exclusive first-look at Phase 1 updates on the event level of Cintas Center.
