GETTING AROUND

The resort has a train & carts that take you from lobby to lobby  the Zentropia Spa and the Sports Center . They come around every few minutes for your convenience. You can see the location of the trains on the signs located above the bellman station(s). Easiest thing to do is walk to a lobby for the train or cart. There are some carts designated for Travel Club, TRS etc so they may not stop for you.

“Spa” Pool : Adults-only pool located within the Spa, 1.60 m deep. Open from 9:00am to 8:00pm.

Sea turtles, one of the world’s current endangered species, have found a safe haven in Mexico. In order to make our contribution to saving the environment, a few years ago the Grand Palladium Resorts in Riviera Maya developed a program for the conservation and protection of this species which now includes a brand new Turtle Camp.

ZENTROPIA SPA

Wet Zones at the Zentropia  Spa (18 years and older)

•  NOTE : As of January 1 2019 the rate of $50 USD per person per day for access to the hydrotherapy facilities wet areas of Zentropia Spa and Wellness will be incurred. TRS guests – $35 per day.
•  Clients that purchase a spa treatment will not have to pay the $50 access fee on that day of treatment. The use of the gym and exercise rooms will remain free of charge for all registered hotel guests.

At our Grand Palladium Resort & Spa hotel in Riviera Maya , we offer relaxing body treatments including a chromotherapy tub and Vichy shower in the following facilities:

16 individual treatment rooms with air conditioning 4 Eco-palm shelters in the Spa 4 Eco-palm shelters scattered throughout the resort 2 meditation rooms with drinks and everything required in a room for your personal relaxation and meditation needs. 1 Water Garden 2 saunas (dry and wet) 2 steam rooms Fitness centre with air conditioning 1 air conditioned, small café area for guests with a pass and clients who reserve a service in our Riviera Maya Resort & Spa. The café offers a menu of sandwiches for each day of the week. At the Spa, you can enjoy massages, facials and body treatments given by a team of highly qualified, professional therapists. Each client will receive a robe, sandals and a locker before starting treatment and massages.

Entry to the water zones is $35 for guests at TRS by Palladium and members of the Palladium Travel Club. There will also be promotions and special services. For your information, that anyone receiving a treatment at Zentropía Palladium Spa & Wellness has entry to the water zone included for the day.

WATER GARDEN: This is an exclusive area with an avant-garde design in hydrotherapy. There are 2 indoor and outdoor jacuzzis with hot and cold water, showers in the open air decorated in Mayan style with the heads of jaguars, water cascades, “eco-meditation” cold bath, foot wash with stones that acts like reflexology, relaxation zone with swimming-pool, etc.

ECO-PALM SHELTERS: Scattered throughout the resort, these Eco-palm shelters are built on wood and are very pleasant if you prefer to be in the open air. They can be found near the pool and white sand areas and in the Spa. Enjoy a relaxing massage among the fabulous sounds of nature in the Mayan jungle, or gaze out on the beautiful Caribbean Sea. The most amazing experience in the area! The Eco-palm shelter area cannot be used in adverse weather conditions.

Next to the fitness centre, you will find a room with an animation team. You can also attend a variety of sessions for aerobics, yoga, pilates and dance classes.

PRODUCTS USED: Zentropía selects first-class products for its treatments, from Pevonia, Alfa Park, Kerastase, Opi and Elemet. It has also developed its own line of products under the Zentropía brand.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Please give at least 4 hours’ notice if you wish to cancel. Late arrivals may only enjoy treatment up to the finishing time of the reservation, so that the next session can begin immediately. For a no-show, your room will be charged with 50% of the cost of the service.

PAYMENT METHODS: All treatments can be charged to your room for greater convenience, or you can choose to pay by credit card or in cash. Tips may be given at your discretion for outstanding service.

OFFERS: Clients can reserve services prior to arrival at the resort with a 15% discount on the total purchase price. Reservations are paid 50% in advance, and the remaining 50% paid directly to the spa. Prices are extremely reasonable and range from $10 US to $170 US.

RECOMMENDATIONS: The Spa’s trained staff are always available to advise you on the best treatment for your needs. Your safety is of the utmost importance to us. Please notify the Spa manager of any special medical condition, such as: allergies, high blood pressure, diabetes, pregnancy, etc. You should also be well hydrated prior to treatment. The Spa provides free drinks, such as water and tea. We recommend that you arrive at least one hour prior to treatment in order to make the most of our modern water circuit (sauna, Turkish bath, jacuzzi, foot wash and private pool). You must shower before entering the water zone. The Spa will provide you with a towel and sandals for your convenience and personal use. You may wear casual clothes and don’t forget to bring your swimwear. Please do not bring valuables or jewellery. Mobile phones and devices must be switched off so that all guests can fully enjoy their Spa experience.

The Grand Palladium Riviera Maya has a beautiful Catholic Church on site. “ Nuestra Senora de las Nieves ”, located near the Colonial lobby.

Grand Palladium Riviera Maya: Our In-Depth Guide

Sometimes you just need to get away, especially in the winter. From the moment that snowflakes started falling from the sky, Justin and I were dreaming of a tropical vacation, as many Canadians do. Thankfully, tripcentral.ca has a limitless amount of all-inclusive vacations in sunny destinations. It’s easy to book your dream trip online or with an experienced travel agent who will help you along the way. Before you know it, you’ll be relaxing on the beach with a drink in your hand.

The two of us chose the luxurious Grand Palladium Riviera Maya Resort & Spa in Mexico. At this five star property, we were looking forward to kicking up our feet in the warm weather with gorgeous views of the Caribbean Sea.

While there are four properties at the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya, Justin and I stayed at two of them and got to enjoy all four of them. After a week in paradise, we know the ins and outs of the resorts and what you simply must do when you go there. So, grab a coffee and get comfortable – here’s our in-depth guide to the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya Resort in Mexico. I will warn you first: this blog post might cause you to immediately book a trip there (a good idea, I must say!).

The Resort of Our Dreams

After an early morning flight to Cancun, we embarked on a private transfer to the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya, just beyond Playa del Carmen . We were tired, hungry, and couldn’t wait to get settled at our new home for the week.

Upon our arrival to the Grand Palladium White Sand Resort & Spa, we were given the 5-star treatment. From hot towels to a tropical beverage, we were immediately welcomed to the resort by the staff.

Feel free to connect back to the outside world right way if you’d like. The entire resort complex has complimentary Wi-Fi that’s high speed. We never had any connectivity issues during our week at the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya.

Grand Palladium Riviera Maya Overview

As you can see from the map above, the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya is actually four resorts in one. There’s the Grand Palladium Kantenah Resort & Spa, the Grand Palladium Colonial Resort & Spa, the Grand Palladium White Sand Resort & Spa, and The Royal Suites Yucatan. We stayed for three nights at the Grand Palladium White Sand, and four nights at the adults-only TRS Yucatan resort.

There are restaurants, swimming pools, and common areas at each resort, but these spaces are available for guests staying at any of the resorts. You can move freely between each resort. However, there are a few spots designed for guests of the TRS Yucatan or those with VIP bracelets (the spa, the TRS Yucatan restaurants, and the VIP beach area).

In total, there are 9 a la carte restaurants, 5 buffet style restaurants, 25 bars, and 7 freshwater pools around the complex.

Grand Palladium White Sand

We stayed in a suite on the third floor of one of the buildings on the Grand Palladium White Sand property.  White Sand is a family friendly resort, not limited to only adults. Out of the three family resorts (White Sand, Colonial and Kantenah), the White Sand section was the quietest and most peaceful.

A river runs through the property, surrounded by a natural mangrove forest. You have the option of staying in small huts on this lagoon (the Mayan Suites), and you can even canoe up to your front door. Although we didn’t stay in one of these huts, I really loved the concept.

There are family pools and adults only swimming pools here as well. These swimming pools were never busy and we rarely saw people around them. The pools at the Colonial resort were much more popular with families as one of them had water slides. The Colonial resort is also closer to the beach and the ocean.

There are 210 junior suites, 12 Mayan suites, and 42 suites at the Grand Palladium White Sand. That’s right, there are only suites! Our accommodation was stylish and elegant, featuring two separate rooms. In one room, there was a sofa, TV, and a balcony. The mini bar was beneath the TV, featuring beer and soft drinks that was always kept fully stocked.

The other room was the bedroom with a king-sized bed, another flatscreen TV, and its own second balcony. There were plush bathrobes and slippers waiting for us on the bed upon our arrival.

This balcony offered a view overlooking one of the swimming pools, off in the distance. Both balconies were surrounded by lush greenery and palm trees. Tropical birds in a rainbow of colours fluttered and chirped happily from tree to tree.

We had so much space in this suite for just the two of us.

The spacious bathroom exuded luxury, from the jetted tub to the separate rainfall shower. There were complimentary toiletries, a hair dryer, and a magnification mirror. A large window let lots of light into the bathroom. I highly recommend making full use of the jacuzzi bathtub for a rejuvenating experience.

Allow us to take you on a photo tour of the Grand Palladium White Sand Resort & Spa. We’ll showcase the front lobby, the swimming pools and the public spaces near our accommodation.

It’s interesting to note that the Grand Palladium has strict environmental protections that respect the natural flora and fauna of the area. You can wander down paths that wind through the mangrove forest, and several bridges cross the lagoon.

Colonial And Kantenah Resorts

Now that I’ve shown you around the Grand Palladium White Sand, allow me to show you around both the Colonial and Kantenah resorts. All four of these resorts (including the TRS Yucatan, which I’ll introduce later) are connected to one another.

You can ride a train between each of the three resorts or walk. I enjoyed mostly walking around to get some exercise, and I didn’t find the property to be too big that I couldn’t walk it. The train stops at each of the three hotel lobbies (Colonial, Kantenah, and White Sand), as well as the spa and activities area.

When you’re staying at the TRS Yucatan, a private shuttle car will pick you up and drop you off wherever you like on the resort.

The Beach in Riviera Maya

You’ve likely been waiting in anticipation to see what the beach looks like, right? Well, you won’t be disappointed! If the name, “Grand Palladium White Sand” tells you anything, there will be white sands. Turquoise waters with a gentle wave and a powdery, white sandy beach is exactly what you’ll find. With just about 1km of beachfront to explore, you’ll find pure relaxation right here.

Walk along the beach, go for a swim, lounge on a deck chair, or participate in water sports. There’s something for everyone.

Activities at the Resort

Speaking of water sports, there are so many activities to keep you busy and entertained at the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya. Enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, wind surfing, and pedal boating.

There’s an entire sports complex at the resort. Justin and I spent one morning playing shuffleboard and basketball. There’s also beach volleyball (both at the sports complex and at the beach), tennis courts, soccer fields, badminton courts, archery, ping pong, rifle practice, and mini golf.

The Zentropia Palladium Spa

Ah, one of our favourite spaces at Grand Palladium Riviera Maya. The Zentropia Palladium Spa & Wellness Centre contains a swimming pool, a water spa, a fitness centre, and of course, massage rooms.

Justin and I went for a soothing Swedish massage on the last day of our trip, and it was the best massage I’ve ever had. I’m not even joking. It was pure bliss.

For guests of the TRS Yucatan, those with VIP bracelets, or those with a spa appointment, you’re welcome to enjoy the invigorating water spa. Alternatively, guests of the resort can visit this area for $10 per day. There’s a swimming pool, hot pools, cold pools, a steam room, a sauna, and more. Alternate between hot and cold pools, much like traditional Nordic spas . Some of the pools are indoors and some are outdoors.

At one point in a circular hot tub with an open ceiling, it started to rain. It was an incredible experience to have the rain falling from overhead while soaking in a jetted hot tub.

There’s also a fitness centre on site, with a vast array of cardio machines, weight machines, free weights, and an exercise room for yoga and other classes.

TRS Yucatan Resort

For the second half of our week in Mexico, we moved one resort over to The Royal Suites Yucatan. It’s an adults only, all-inclusive, luxury resort. While every property at the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya is a five star resort, TRS Yucatan is even more luxurious and the staff is somehow even more attentive.

Every building has three butlers that are ready to cater to your every need. For us, our butlers were a friendly face to greet us upon returning to our suite. They also put fresh flowers and fruit in our room. Anytime we wanted a ride to a restaurant or another resort, they quickly arranged for a shuttle to pick us up and take us wherever we wanted.

Our suite was on the third floor and had a spectacular view of the infinity pool and the ocean. There were other suites on the first floor that had their own private swimming pool. We adored the view and I really enjoyed sitting on the balcony every morning with a cup of Nespresso coffee from the room.

I’ll take you on a tour of our suite at TRS Yucatan. It’s ultra modern with tons of mirrors, and an open concept layout with the sinks and bathtub all in the same space as the bedroom.

There’s a separate stall for the shower and the toilet, and a jetted tub in the middle of the room. With the couch, flatscreen TV, and mini bar, you can really make yourself right at home here. I also adored that I could make myself a delicious cup of coffee in the room.

Now, allow us to sweep you off your feet with this beautiful balcony and scenery.

Private Pools and VIP Beach

If you stay at The Royal Suites Yucatan, you truly get the royal treatment. There are several private pools for guests of TRS Yucatan at the resort, including an infinity pool and a saltwater pool. The infinity pool is picture perfect with views of that stunning ocean. If you’re looking to relax, there are plush loungers or even full beds to enjoy an afternoon snooze in the sunshine.

The saltwater pool is super unique and allows water to flow in and out of the ocean itself. As you can imagine, it was actually filled with tropical fish that swam in from the ocean. It was so interesting to see fish in a swimming pool like this, as they can come and go freely as they please. I even saw a guest snorkeling in the swimming pool!

As there isn’t any beach right in front of TRS Yucatan, you need to move to the opposite side of the resort for the private beach. Over by the Kantenah Resort, guests of TRS Yucatan have access to a VIP beach that’s quiet with lots of loungers. Lay among the palm trees and savour the scenery of white sands and brilliant waters.

As a vegan, the chefs were able to prepare delicious, plant-based meals. While there weren’t any vegan choices on the regular menu, it was simple for them to make a variation of a dish or an entirely new meal. From Mexican food to sushi, there were restaurants featuring several cuisines from around the world, so you’ll never get tired of eating the same thing every day. In total, there are 9 a la carte themed restaurants, 5 buffet restaurants, and 1 exclusive restaurant for guests of TRS Yucatan.

Chic Cabaret

At TRS Yucatan (and available to all guests), there’s a dinner theatre show called Chic Cabaret. At an additional cost of $100 per person, it’s an extravagant evening where you’re served several meal courses while watching an impressive stage show.

Chic Cabaret has talented performers who sing, dance, and even perform acrobatics. It was a feast for the senses: our eyes, our ears, and our taste buds. It’s easy to have a vegan meal, too. Some of my dishes included a unique sushi dish made out of fruit, tofu with garlic, and a sweet treat for dessert.

The singers belted out popular tunes and we were encouraged to sing along. Lasting about three hours, it was an excellent way to spend an evening together.

Resort Excursions

Even though it’s tempting to stay on the resort, you might want to consider getting out there and exploring the region. The Mayan Riviera is home to ancient Mayan ruins , island getaways, and some of the best snorkeling and scuba.

We decided to try something a little different this time and embark on a sunset sailing cruise on the Caribbean Sea. I’ll go into more detail on this excursion soon, but it was such a beautiful sight to watch the sun go down from a sailboat.

Please answer this person's question in an earlier post.. "I stayed at this resort just over a year ago and LOVED it. Love your blog! One question – you mention 4 resorts at this one Grand Palladium…. when we stayed there, our lobby and resort property was called Riviera. There was also Yucatan Royal Suites, Colonial, Kantenah, and White Sands. Was there no Riviera lobby area when you were just there?? Wonder if it is renovating or what??"

@Dianna Glenn, I stayed at the palladium in 2014 on a destination wedding trip, and I remember the Riviera too (we stayed in that section), I think looking at the map that it has been added/combined into the Royal Suites part according to what the map shows.

When we stayed there, there was no lobby called Riviera. There's TRS Yucatan, White Sands, Colonial and Kantenah. There was an area under renovation that may have been the Riviera lobby. Please keep in mind that we stayed at the resort in early 2018 and things can change quite a bit as hotels renovate and rejuvenate their properties. Thanks!

¡Viva Mexico! Once you visit the beaches, you’ll know why we keep coming back to this part of Mexico. On our recent trip, we stayed at the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya , which is right by Akumal in the Riviera Maya.

We’ve stayed in Cancun , Tulum , Isla Holbox , and lived in Playa del Carmen for 5 months, so we know the area. This was our first time staying in this part of the Yucatan, and if you’re looking for an All-Inclusive in the Riviera Maya that is close to all the best things to do in Riviera Maya – this is it!

Grand Palladium Riviera Maya

The Grand Palladium Riviera Maya is a great spot on pristine beaches located right between Playa del Carmen and Tulum. Here are some of our favorite things about the resort and reasons to put the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya on your list to visit.

White Sandy Beach

White sandy beaches and several shades of blue were a quick minute walk from our room. We are total beach lovers, and nothing beats white sandy beaches. There were always beach chairs and umbrellas available, which is great because no one likes to wake up early on vacation to save a chair.

If you are into snorkeling, buy a cheap snorkel set before coming (cheaper than renting), there is some great snorkeling right from the beach. If you’ve never gone snorkeling before, we think the best place to learn is a place where you can walk out from the beach as opposed to being thrown into the ocean of a boat. So, the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya is a great place to get your feet wet with snorkeling.

Pools for Everyone

If, for some reason, the beach isn’t your thing, don’t worry there are several pools at the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya. The main pool is HUGE. I loved the built-in lounges in the pool and whirlpool areas. I spent most of our time at the adult pool, which conveniently had a bar, too, it’s a great place for couples traveling without children. Again we had no issue finding a sunny or shady lounge chair mid-day.

Tons of Food Options

We stuffed our faces silly with guacamole, no really, the guac here is amazing (lunch buffet & snack bar daily)! The lunch buffet mains changed daily, and our favorite was the day they had a taco station with Al Pastor on the spit over flaming charcoal.

Our favorite restaurant at the Grand Palladium was La Lola. We had amazing tapas. The patatas bravas tasted just like they did in Barcelona.

Swimming with the Sea Turtles In Akumal

If swimming with sea turtles in Akumal is on your bucket list, then the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya is the perfect place to stay. The hotel is only a 10-minute boat ride away. We’ve been to Akumal before, always by car. Make sure to read 5 must-know tips for renting a car in Cancun .

Visiting by boat avoids the normal hassles of having to deal with the parking guys, renting the snorkel gear, and going with a group. If you stay at the Grand Palladium, they will have swimming with a sea turtle from a boat that takes off right from their beach.

We’ve been to Akumal several times throughout the year (March, May, July, October, and February), and we’ve always seen sea turtles. So we can say you are almost guaranteed to see them, we always have.

Visiting the Tulum Ruins

Add a little bit of history to your trip and visit the ancient Mayan Tulum Ruins. The ruins are only 20 minutes away from the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya. We highly suggest going early in the morning, not only to beat the crowds – but the heat as well.

No matter what time of year it’s always really hot at the Tulum Ruins. Don’t forget your swimsuit. There are stairs leading down to the beach at the ruins where you can jump in for a swim and cool off. You can arrange a tour at the hotel or consider driving in Mexico yourself (it’s super easy).

Swim Up Bar

After a day exploring some of the Riviera Maya excursions grab a barstool at the coolest bar the Grand Palladium. We love making friends at the swim-up bar and chatting with the bartenders, it is usually the liveliest crowd too.

The Grand Palladium Riviera Maya doesn’t cheap out on drinks either, all the bars have top-shelf drinks. Don Julio in your margarita or Bombay gin & tonics, NO problem! The Grand Palladium has some great alcohol options and brands available. This is great because no one likes a hangover from low-quality alcohol. For a unique shot like above consider getting a GoPro dome , we love ours.

Unique Room Options

The Grand Palladium Riviera Maya has a wide range of room types for any family size or budget. One of our favorite room types was the overwater bungalows located around the lagoon waterways of the property.

Built right over the water these rooms were both very private and super exotic, and much more than your standard room. Aside from the awesome setup right on the water, the location was close to the pool, lobby, and the beach. Breakfast on the balcony was pretty epic!

Don’t head back to your room too early. Make sure to check and see when the sunset is. Head down to the beach bar or snack bar and grab a sundowner before claiming a beach chair to watch the sunset. Sunsets in the Caribbean are amazing, and Riviera Maya puts on a pretty good sunset!

The Grand Palladium Riviera Resort & Spa is one of four Palladium Resorts’ Riviera Maya properties, which also consists of the Grand Palladium Colonial Resort & Spa , Grand Palladium Kantenah Resort & Spa , and Grand Palladium White Sand Resort & Spa . All four resorts share restaurants, activities, and amenities on the 5-star, all-inclusive property, which is situated along 2,400 feet of white-sand beach.

The all-inclusive, family-friendly resort’s best feature is that kids 12 and younger stay, play and eat free. Teens 13 to 17 cost a reduced rate when staying with parents. Proving kids are ever important to the resort chain, the Palladium Hotels & Resorts partnered with Emmy award-winning, live-action TV show Raggs, which features five colorful and musical pups. Kids will enjoy Raggs-themed breakfasts, dance parties, pirate shows and more during their stay — all included.

Perhaps one of the best parts of the Riviera resort is its commitment to the environment. Instead of large buildings on the beach, the resort is spread across its massive acreage, surrounded by lush tropical greenery. Rooms are offered in three-story buildings with walkways and paths beneath palm-fronded coverings connecting them to the resorts’ restaurants and shopping areas. You may pass flamingos, iguanas and crocodiles en route. Even at capacity, Riviera never feels crowded and families can find places to be alone together.

The Riviera resort features 270 junior suites and 54 suites.

Junior suites feature two queen beds or one king bed with private terraces, as well as a double-sized sofa bed. Suites include large living rooms with TV's in both the living and bedrooms.

Family Activities

Play at Palladium with Raggs A new Play at Palladium with Raggs program brings the cast and characters of the award-winning children's TV series, Raggs & Friends, to life across the resort. Special breakfasts, dances, activities and events are scheduled throughout a week-long or weekend stay. On Sunday nights, kids can join in Pido's Surf Party dance party, as well as the 50-minute live Raggs Pirate Show spectacular.

Pools The entire resort shares activities and amenities, with families able to enjoy four pools (three additional adult pools are available), a saltwater pool and Jacuzzis. Lifeguards are on duty at the pools from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Guests must get pool and beach towels from towel huts. A brand new water park opened late in 2013, with water slides, a splash zone and a kid-friendly pool.

Kids Clubs Located at the large pool between the Colonial and Kantenah Resorts, two all-inclusive kids' clubs provide a place for supervised activities for young children. A Baby Club, open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., is offered for children 1 to 3, and the El Ranchito Mini Club is open 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. for kids 4 to 12. Radios are provided to parents of infants so they can be reached. Activities are divided by ages 4 to 8 and 9 to 12, although exceptions may be made for siblings wanting to stay together.

Teens 13 to 19 will enjoy the Black & White, which is located far from the kids clubs at the Kantenah Resort, so they won't feel like they are little kids. The teen center offers computers with Internet, pool tables and video games, and is open from 11 a.m. to midnight daily. Children's activities are planned throughout the day and evening.

Nightly Entertainment Two indoor theaters offer kid- and adult-friendly entertainment nightly, as well as live music and karaoke, and a disco for the 18-and-over crowd also provides evening fun. Special evening Raggs' events entertain children and are supervised, if parents want to attend adult programs.

Sports The resort's sports complex features six tennis courts, two basketball courts, a soccer field, a shooting range, archery and mini-golf, while three beach volleyball courts are also available for active guests. Water sports includes kayaking, windsurfing, snorkeling, pedal boats, pontoon boat rides and sailing aboard the resort's catamaran. The facility is located at the Colonial resort.

Habitats With a focus on the environment, guests will find two flamingo lakes and two crocodile habitats with public feedings. Koi ponds and ecological walks are also part of the charm of the property, with multiple paths connecting guest wings and main areas of the resorts.

Spa The small spa provides basic treatments for children, including manicures, pedicures and hair braiding.

Family Dining

The resort features nine a la carte restaurants, five buffet and open-air restaurants, and 21 bars, spread across the entire property.

The main buffet at Riviera is La Laguna, which serves breakfast from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., lunch from noon to 4 p.m., and snacks and tea from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The buffet is also available at White Sands. At Kantenah and Colonial, the El Gran Azul buffet is offered.

A la carte dining is available during the evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with men 12 and older required to dress in long pants and sleeved shirts. A la carte restaurants across the resort include Mare Nostrum Mediterranean restaurant, Sumptuori Japanese restaurant, La Adelita for Mexican, El Dorado for steak, Italian at Portofino, Chinese at Bamboo, Brazilian at Rodizio and BBQ at Ribs & More.

Planning & Tips

All About the Extras A shuttle train services all four properties, so guests can travel to different restaurants, theaters and pools. Shuttles operate between 8 a.m. and 2 a.m.

Lobbies provide free Wi-Fi access, and in-room access is available for a fee.

Babysitting can be arranged through the kid's club for in-room and off-hours sitting services.

Cribs are available at no additional charge, but are limited, so reserve in advance to guarantee you'll have one. Rollaway beds and cots are not available.

An onsite doctor is available between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Medical services are not included in the resort and are additional fees, as needed.

The Art of Smart Timing The resorts peak season is spring break and the holidays, with summer through November being hurricane season, creating the possibility of some rain-filled days.

Getting There The nearest airport is Cancun's international airport. The resort provides shuttle service to the airport, which takes 45 minutes to an hour.

For Mom and Dad The Renova Spa at the White Sands Resort features a wonderful outdoor spa with steam baths, infinity pool, pediluvium, Jacuzzi and sauna, as well as outdoor showers. The spa does not offer changing or showering facilities, but does feature things like massages, Vichy showers, facials and body treatments. There's also an onsite beauty salon and state-of-the-art gym and workout room. The spa is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
