These prayers protect a person from bad calamities and accidents. Therefore, as Muslims, it is our duty to recite the dua for traveling before going anywhere.

When should I recite the dua for travel?

Travel prayer should be recited while sitting in the vehicle. If the journey is somewhere far away, two rak’at prayers should be performed before leaving home.

Which surah is for travel?

Surah Al-Zakhraf is the 43rd Surah of the Holy Quran. In verse 13 of which, the travel prayer is described

What is the hadith of travel?

There is a hadith in Bukhari Muslim that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Travelling is a torment because it deprives the traveler of food, drink and sleep. So when one of you has accomplished the purpose of his journey, he should return home”

How to Recite Traveling Dua?

Performing a Dua, or prayer, in Islam doesn’t need any special preparations like wudu (ablution), usually done before prayers. However, as a Muslim, it is better to always remain neat and clean, including when you’re travelling.

Starting your journey? It’s an ideal time to offer your Dua for travelling .  There is a set pattern for offering a Dua in Islam. It includes:

  • Start with the name of Allah (S.W.T.)
  • Recite the specific dua for that particular need
  • End with durud (sending peace and blessings upon Prophet Muhammad  ﷺ)

Remember, you can always recite the travelling dua straightaway if you prefer. This isn’t a strict rule, just a way to make your journey more blessed.

Table of Contents

Islam is a comprehensive religion that covers all spheres of life. In addition to the five obligatory prayers, Allah has commanded us to seek His blessings and guidance before undertaking any action. For instance, we must seek Allah’s protection from any harm during travelling by reciting Dua for Travelling .

Whether we travel by car, train, or airplane, we must recite certain Duas before starting our journey . Of course, we plan ahead of time, but no one is certain how our plan progresses or ends. Therefore, Muslims must seek Allah’s direction and assistance to reach their destinations safely and return home to their family. While you do so, opt for Dua Travels to maximize your experience.

Islam allows all Muslims to travel when the intentions are for the right purpose. While reciting  Dua for travelling , Muslims must firmly believe in Allah (SWT) and His blessings. He is the only one who has the power to protect us from unfortunate events like accidents and the harm of travelling. Let us explore some of the most beneficial as we must recite before and during the journey.

What Does the Holy Quran Say about Travelling?

Holy Quran, the sacred scripture, is the book of wisdom that teaches man the purpose of life and guides Muslims on the right way to lead their lives. The Islamic Holy Book covers all aspects of life and directs Muslims to success in this world and hereafter. According to the Quran, this world is temporary, and human beings are in a constant state of Travel. However, Allah (SWT) also mentions physical travelling several times.

In the Quran, ‘sayyir’ refers to the one who travels. The word sayir literally means to move or travel. Allah (SWT) used this word 27 times in the Quran in several expressions, including “Do Travel,” “Do they not Travel,” and “Tell them to Travel.”

Do they then not travel through the Earth, so that their minds gain wisdom and their ears thus learn to hear? 22:46

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) also emphasized travelling. He told the believers that travelling is a great way to expand their horizons and seek knowledge. In one instance, he said

“Keep  to  travelling by night  because the earth is folded (traversed more easily) during the  night .” [Abu Dawud].

Dua Before Travelling

Shariah recommends to off 2 rakaat nawafil before starting travel. It is because the Holy Prophet (PBUH) performed this task before going on any journey. You can get the confirmation of this practice from the following hadith.

Dua Before Travelling

“When you leave your house, perform two raka’at and this will safeguard you against evil. When you enter your home, perform another two raka’at and this will safeguard you against evil.”

(Musnad Al-Bazzar)

Dua for Travel

Once you have left home, you may recite the following Dua for Travel at any point during your journey.

Dua for Travel

O Allah, we ask You in our travel for righteousness, taqwa, and good deeds that You are pleased with. O Allah makes our travel ease and shortens the distance for us. O Allah, You are our Companion in travel and the guardian of our family (in our absence). O Allah I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel, a sight of grief, and from an unfortunate occurrence in wealth and family.

Dua for Travelling in Quran

The Quran clearly stated the Dua for safe Travel regardless of the mode of transport. The following Dua for Travelling is recited to seek Allah’s protection and safety throughout the journey.

Dua for Travelling in Quran

While reciting this Dua, Muslims ask Allah for His blessings and wisdom through the journey. They also thank Allah for the permission to ride the vehicle. Also, this is a means to ask for Allah’s  (SWT) forgiveness before setting off, so our sins are forgiven by the Almighty if we encounter any unfortunate events.

Five Powerful Duas and Prayers for Traveling

dua for travelling english translation

Last updated on November 17th, 2021 at 08:40 am

Have you ever found yourself on the plane ready to take off, but unable to find your booklet of prayers for traveling? Often we find ourselves without access to these special duas or prayers when we need them the most. In our opinion, memorizing duas is the best solution.

One of the beautiful things about Islam is that there is a prayer for our normal daily activities and even prayers for traveling abroad .  When we embark on a journey, we should recite a prayer to Allah and remember Him. It brings us closer to Allah and also saves us from any untoward incident that may take place on our journey.

As per Islamic teachings, reciting a dua not only brings Allah’s protection; it also mobilizes angels to protect us during our journey and bring us safely back home to our loved ones.

Below are the five common duas that Muslims recite before journeys, complete with Arabic verse, dua transliteration, source, and explanation.

1. Prayer for Safety When Embarking on Travel

  • Arabic Verse: وَقُل رَّبِّ أَنزِلْنِى مُنزَلًا مُّبَارَكًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْمُنزِلِينَ
  • Dua Transliteration: Rabbi anzilni munzalan mubarokan wa anta khairul munzilin
  • English Translation: My Lord, let me land at a blessed landing-place, and You are the best to accommodate [us].
  • Source: Surah Al Muminun ayat 29

When embarking on travel, this dua is recited to protect oneself from any mishap and to ensure a safe landing. When you recite this dua, you will feel calmer and less anxious about your upcoming trip.

It is always helpful to start a journey by remembering Allah. This prayer is useful to keep with you whenever you are packing for your trip so that you can easily recite it once you leave your home or on the plane.

This prayer asks Allah to protect us when traveling abroad . It also helps us proclaim our faith and affirm the fact that there is no one that can protect us except Allah.

2. Prayer for Safety During the Trip

  • Arabic Verse:
  • English Translation: Glory unto Him Who created this transportation, for us, though we were unable to create it on our own. And unto our Lord, we shall return.
  • Source: Surah Az-Zukhruf 43:13-14

This excerpt from Surah Az-Zukhruf is a masnoon prayer that thanks Allah for providing us with the means of transportation to make our journey. This dua is short and can be easily memorized so that it becomes a habit to recite it when on a journey.

The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) recited this Surah as dua when he would mount an animal for traveling . He would say Bismillah and then recite this prayer for travel safety . We may be traveling by car, plane, train, or boat; whatever the means of transportation is, it is always important to remember Allah during our journey.

3. Prayer for Traveling to a New Place

  • Arabic Verse:
  • Dua Transliteration: Wa-qul Rabbi Adkhilnee Mudkhala S’idqiw Wa Akhrijnee Mukhraja S’diqiw Waj-a’l Lee Mil Ladunkaa Sult’aanan Nas’eeraa
  • English Translation: O Lord, cause me to enter a goodly entrance and cause me to go out a goodly exit, and grant me from you an authority to assist (me).
  • Source: Sura Al-‘Isra 17:80

The prophet (ﷺ) was in Makkah and had to emigrate to Madinah when Allah revealed this verse. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) was being attacked by individuals in Makkah and was preparing to enter a new place.

This verse asks for Allah’s protection when taking a big decision and traveling to a new place. This decision could be anything from moving to a new city to even moving to a new home. In this prayer, we are asking Allah to bless our entrance and exit. We are looking for His assistance and blessing while we take this decision.

4. Prayer upon Reaching Destination Safely

  • Arabic Verse: وَقَالَ ارْكَبُواْ فِيهَا بِسْمِ اللّهِ مَجْرَاهَا وَمُرْسَاهَا إِنَّ رَبِّي لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
  • Dua Transliteration: Va kealarkaboo feehea bismilleahi macreahea va murseahea, inna raabbee la gaafoorun raaheem
  • English Translation: Embark there in! In the name of Allah be its course or its mooring. Lo! My Lord is Forgiving and Merciful!
  • Source: Surah Al-Hud – 11:41

This verse is from Sura Hud, which relays the trials and tribulations of Prophet Noah allehisalam. Prophet Noah was commanded by Allah to create a ship and load it with two creatures (male and female) of every living thing that had a soul.

When the command came to leave on the ship, a strong storm came that brought heavy rainfall. This verse was then revealed at that time and means that the moving course and resting (anchorage) of the ship will be all in Allah’s hands.

This is a specific verse in the Surah and is often used when someone reaches their destination safely. It is a small and short prayer that can be memorized easily when traveling abroad and after you have reached your destination.

5. Prayer Upon Returning Home

  • Arabic Verse: آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عابِدُونَ ساجِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ
  • Dua Transliteration: Ayibun, ta’ibun, ‘abidun, sajidun, lirabbina hamidun
  • English Translation: We return, repentant, worshipping, prostrating, and praising our Lord.
  • Source: Sahih al-Bukhari 3084

This short prayer for travel safety is part of a longer verse that the Holy Prophet would recite upon returning from his journeys. After he came back from a journey, he would say Allah u Akbar three times and then recite this dua.

It is important not to forget Allah once we have returned safely to our homes. Often we only remember Allah when we are starting our journey or when we are in the process of traveling. But we should be grateful to Allah once we return safe and sound.

This dua only has a few words and can be easily learned by heart so that you can recite it quickly once you return home safely after traveling abroad.

Now You Know the 5 Powerful Duas and Prayers for Traveling

We can see that all of the prayers for traveling safety are not very long and can be remembered very easily. One should understand that when you are traveling, you are putting yourself in the trust of Allah and his powers.

Only Allah can decide what our fate is, but by saying prayers before we start our journey, during the journey, and when we reach home, we are affirming the fact that we believe in Allah’s power to protect us from harm.

Dua For Travelling in English | Best Duas Before & After Travelling

Are you all set for your traveling be sure to recite these duas for traveling which are collected from the books of hadith..

by Mohammed Saadullah Khan

Allah SWT is the creator and sustainer of the entire universe. Every person living on this earth works day and night to fulfill his household needs and earns a living to feed himself and his family with great effort. If he does all these things under the commandments of God and the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH), then they all become acts of worship.

But if he does not follow the Islamic rules in these matters and breaks those by adopting illegal methods or starts killing the rights of others in the name of economic struggle, then this effort can become a source of disgrace for him in the hereafter. Islam has guided us in every matter and even Prophet (peace be upon Him) taught us the dua and manners for travelling also.

Why Do We Need to Read Dua for Travelling?

When we travel, we are surrounded by countless dangers. To be safe from these dangers, we can remove the possible dangers by following the commands of the Prophet (peace be upon Him) and the rulings stated by them. It is clear that by doing prayers, giving charity, and many other such things, and by following the rules and precautions, we can keep ourselves safe from every kind of danger. We should not forget to read dua for travelling before leaving our home and after coming back home.

English transliteration : Subhan Alladhi Sakh-Khara Lana Hadha Wa Ma Kunna Lahu Muqrinin. Wa Inna Ila Rabbina Lamunqalibun

“So, that you may sit firmly on their backs, and remember your Lord’s blessings once you are settled on them, saying, “Glory be to the One who has subjected these for us, for we could have never done so ˹on our own. And surely to our Lord, we will all return.”

– [ Surah Zukhruf ayat 13-14 ]

That is, among all the creatures of the earth, only man has been given the authority by Allah SWT to use boats and ships and animals as rides. Should he never wonder who it is that made it possible for him to navigate the great seas and who created some of the innumerable animals that became his slaves? Taking advantage of these blessings and forgetting the benefactor is a sign of a dead heart and a numb conscience.

Because when a person with a lively heart and a sensitive conscience sits on these paths, he will be filled with a sense of blessings and a spirit of gratitude and will cry: ‘Blessed is He who subjugated these things to me. He is purer than that another partakes of His being, attributes, and powers. He is pure and free from the weakness of being helpless to perform his divine functions by himself and dependent on other co-gods. He is pure that I should share these blessings with someone else.

Dua’s for Travelling From Hadith:

1. It was narrated from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) mounted his camel to set out on a journey, he would say takbeer three times, then he would say:

Subhanaalladhi sakh-khara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrineen wa inna ila rabbina la munqaliboon

English Translation : Glory be to the One Who has placed this (transport) at our service and we ourselves would not have been capable of that, and to our Lord is our final destiny.

– [ Sahih Muslim 1342 ]

Dua For Traveling in English

2. There’s a popular Dua for travelling from [ Sunan Abi Dawud 5095 ] (graded as Sahih by Al-Albani) which we must read after leaving the house. I personally recite this Dua every single time before I start my journey.

English transliteration :

Bismillahi tawakkaltu ‘alallah la hawla wala quwwata illa billah

English translation : In the name of Allah, I trust in Allah; there is no might and no power but in Allah.

Narrated Anas ibn Malik:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: When a man goes out of his house and says: “In the name of Allah, I trust in Allah; there is no might and no power but in Allah,” the following will be said to him at that time: “You are guided, defended and protected.” The devils will go far from him and another devil will say: How can you deal with a man who has been guided, defended and protected?

How to Start And End Your Travel With Dua?

Narrated Ali ibn Abu Talib: Ali ibn Rabiah said: I was present with Ali while a beast was brought to him to ride. When he put his foot in the stirrup, he said: “In the name of Allah”. Then when he sat on its back, he said: “Praise be to Allah”. He then said: “Glory be to Him Who has made this subservient to us, for we had not the strength, and to our Lord do we return”. He then said: “Praise be to Allah (thrice); Allah is Most Great (thrice): glory be to Thee, I have wronged myself, so forgive me, for only Thou forgivest sins.” He then laughed. He was asked: At what did you laugh? He replied: I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) do as I have done, and laugh after that. I asked: Messenger of Allah, at what are you laughing? He replied: Your Lord, Most High, is pleased with His servant when he says: “Forgive me my sins.” He knows that no one forgives sins except Him.

Dua for traveling

A Dua for Safe Travels

Dua, or supplication, is an integral aspect of the Islamic faith. It is a means of communicating with Allah, seeking His guidance, and asking for His blessings. When it comes to traveling, making dua is highly recommended as it is a way to seek Allah’s protection and guidance during the journey. In this article, we will explore the importance of dua for travel from a Sunnah perspective, and provide a dua for travel along with its Arabic text, transliteration, and translation.

In Islam, dua is considered to be the essence of worship. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the significance of making dua in various aspects of life, including travel. He is reported to have said, “There are three whose supplication is not rejected: the fasting person when he breaks his fast, the just ruler, and the one who is oppressed” (Tirmidhi). This indicates the special status of dua, and its potency in seeking Allah’s favor.

Traveling, whether for leisure or for a specific purpose, can be fraught with uncertainties and challenges. Making dua before embarking on a journey is a way to seek Allah’s protection and guidance, and to ensure a safe and smooth travel experience. It is a way of acknowledging our reliance on Allah and humbly seeking His assistance. Moreover, the act of making dua fosters a sense of mindfulness and connection with Allah, thereby enhancing our spiritual journey.

A dua for travel is as follows:

Arabic: سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ Transliteration: Subhana-alladhi sakh-khara la-na hadha wa ma kunna la-hu muqrinin. Wa inna ila Rabbi-na la munqalibun. Translation: “Glory unto Him Who created this transportation, for us, though we were unable to create it on our own. And unto our Lord we shall return.”

This dua is to be recited during the journey, whether it be by air, land, sea, or any other means of transport. It is a way of acknowledging Allah’s control over the means of transportation and seeking His protection and guidance throughout the travel.

The act of reciting this dua not only serves as a way to seek Allah’s protection and guidance but also as a means of expressing gratitude for the means of travel and acknowledging Allah’s control over all aspects of our lives.

In Islam, charity holds immense significance, and it is regarded as a means of seeking Allah’s favor and blessings. The act of giving charity with sincere intentions can serve as a way to seek Allah’s favors, and it can potentially help in the fulfillment of one’s dua. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity” (Tirmidhi).

By giving in charity with a sincere heart, one not only fulfills their obligation towards those in need but also seeks Allah’s mercy and blessings. This act of kindness and generosity can contribute to the fulfillment of one’s supplications, including those made for safe traveling and a smooth journey.

The dua for travel provided above serves as a means to acknowledge Allah’s control over our journeys and seek His blessings for a safe and smooth travel experience. Additionally, giving in charity with a sincere heart can further aid in the fulfillment of one’s supplications.

As Muslims, it is important to incorporate these practices into our lives and recognize the power of dua and charity in seeking Allah’s favor and blessings. May Allah grant us safe travels and accept our supplications. Ameen.

Yes. Chahy ap jahaz main safar karain, lift main bethay, gaari, car, ya bike chalae, har tarha ki sawari par bethtay huay ye duai parhna chahye.

Kyu ke sawari hamaray ikhtiyaar aur qabu se nikalnay main aik lamha bhi nahi lagta. Is liye zaruri hai kay Allah Taala se khair maang kar, toba karke aur uski madad ke sath har safar ko shuru kia jae.

Isi liye boht se ulama to yeh bhi kehtay hain ke ghair zaruri safar se parhaiz karna chahye aur safar se pehle Istikhara karna chahye takay khair o barakat hasil ho. Iske alawa safar se pehle hifazat ke liye Dua e Anas ka bhi ehtimam karna chahye

In Islam, the instructions for making a dua for travelling and offering Sunnah travel supplications are apparent, as they  protect you and help you build a strong connection with Allah SWT .

What the Quran Says About Travelling

When you embark on your travels , always start by making all the relevant duas for travelling and following the guidelines of Prop het Muhammad PBUH for safe travels .

We will discuss all the necessary measures to make for travelling and learn their origin and significance.

Let’s dive into the correct way to make dua for travelling and understand its importance for Muslims travelling .

Why Is Dua Important When Travelling?

The Prophet Muhammad PBUH spoke about offering duas and travelling supplication multiple times.

Hadith in al-Bayhaqi, at–Trimidhi–Sahih 1905 narrates,

The translation is as follows;

“Allah SWT will not reject three prayers/supplication, the supplication for parents for his child, the supplication of the one who is fasting, and the supplication of the traveller.”

What Is the Dua of a Traveller?

According to the Sunnah of the Muhammad PBUH, offering a dua for travelling is a way to build a strong connection with Allah SWT and offers you protection , such that your travelling journey is fully protected by the Allah (SWT) and by performing continuous Azkaar (remembrance) and making dua for a safe journey , protects you from Evil.

Is a Traveller’s Dua Accepted?

In another instance, the Prophet Muhammad SAW says three dua for travelling ;

A reference from Sunan Al-Tirmizi Book 7 Hadith 5 narrates,

The translations of which is:

“ These supplications are answered without a doubt: the duas of the oppressed, the traveller, and the parents of their child/children.”

11 Duas for Travelling For a Safe Journey

There are many Sunnah duas , supplications, raka , and dua for safe journey , regardless of the time and distance required for their completion.

Sunnah Before Traveling

It is the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH that you leave your home after offering two raka Sunnah prayers.

An explanation of one of his hadiths reported that before leaving your house, safeguard yourself against evil by performing two raka Sunnah, and when you return to your home, ensure that you perform two more Sunnah raka .

A Hadith in Musnad Al-Bazzar 380 narrates,

“When you leave your house, perform two raka’h and this will safeguard you against evil. When you enter your home, perform another two raka’h, and this will safeguard you against evil.”

In this prayer, you can continue with any surah following Surah Fatiha; however, Surah Al-Kafiroon and Al-Ikhlas hold significance.

Dua After You Leave the House

When you leave your house, many things cross your mind:

  • Will my belongings be safe till I return?
  • Will I safely reach my destination and perform my goal?
  • Will I encounter any hurdles in my way?
  • Will everything be safe like it was before?

Allah SWT has blessed the Muslims with one answer to all their worries: making dua for a safe journey with the zeal of faith and depth of their hearts.

While leaving your home, the most beautiful and significant dua for a safe trip is below;

A Hadith in Sunan Abi-Daud 5095 narrates;

“In the name of Allah , I place my trust, and there is no might or power except by Allah.”

In multiple instances, people directly linked with the Prophet PBUH have confirmed that He (SAW) quotes that the person who recites these travelling duas with complete belief rested upon Allah will be protected and served with the protection of Allah SWT and the Evil will stay far off from him/her while travelling away from home.

The transliteration of this dua is as follows;

Subhaanal-lathee sakhkhara lanaa haathaa wa maa kunnaa lahu muqrineen. Wa ‘innaa ‘ilaa Rabbinaa lamunqaliboon.

Dua When travelling Long Distance

In the Holy Prophet PBUH tradition’s, these travelling duas are the ultimate refuge and protection from evil and wrong-doers in any place ;

Dua For Travelling by Plane and Car

dua to be made in plane or car

  • While Travelling On a Height

Ascending or descending from a considerable height, such as when travelling in an escalator, a lift, a bridge, or on a flight on a plane or helicopter, Muslims are encouraged to recite specific dua’s or supplications to ask for protection and dua for someone travelling on a plane or during the flight is highly significant;  While ascending, recite thrice;

‘ Allahu Akbar,’ which means that Allah is the greatest

And while descending, recite

Arabic: ٱللَّٰهِ سُبْحَانَ

‘ Subhan Allah,’ which translates to Allah is perfect.

These two supplications have been approved by the closest to the Prophet as His (PBUH) Sunnah. Making dua for someone travelling on the plane during the flight creates a deep connection with Allah SWT, and He blesses you and that person.

  • When Boarding On An Animal or Ship

According to the Holy Quran, in the verse Surah-Hud 11/41 , Allah SWT commands,

Transliteration: Wa qaalar kaboo feehaa bismil laahi majraihaa wa mursaahaa; inna Rabbee la Ghafoorur Raheem.

” In the name of Allah , board it! It will sail and set down the anchor. For sure, the Lord is All-forgiving and the most Merciful.”

Dua When Your Animal Stumbles While on Journey

If your animal, which is the medium of transport for either you or the luggage, stumbles and falls, recite the following Dua for travel upon loading on it for Allah SWT’s aid,

ٱللَّٰ بِسْمِ

The transliteration of which is Bismillah

And it translates to,

In the Name of Allah . ’

How Do You Pray for a Traveller?

If you are staying at somebody’s home for days or a few minutes, either you are known to the host or a total stranger, ensure that you bless them with this dua,

أَسْتَوْدِعُكُمُ اللّٰهَ الَّذِيْ لَا تَضِيْعُ وَدَائِعُهُ

Transliteration: Astawdi’ukumul-laahal-lathee laa tadhee’u wadaa’i’uhu .

The translation in English is:

“I leave you in the care and supervision of Allah , as nothing is bygone in His supervision.”

Dua For Safe Travel For a Loved One

During your expeditions, you might face some hurdles. Certain situations are in our control, but some of them are unavoidable.

The easiest way to escape these difficulties is to increase zikr and repeatedly recite Istighfar , which means seeking Allah ‘s refuge and mercy.

ٱسْتِغْفَار

The Prophet Muhammad PBUH repeatedly focused on increasing the amount of Istighfar throughout your expedition, freeing you from worries and hardships.

Dua on Returning Home

dua for returning home

1. Supplication When You Return Home

As the Sunnah, we must offer two Sunnah- raka upon returning to our residence.

This supplication is done to thank Allah SWT for His protection and mercy against evil and wrong-doers.

2. Dua When Approaching Your Residence

When you have completed your expedition, recite the following dua when entering your residence.

The translation in English follows:

“We return in remorse, in prayers, and while praising Allah.”

Importance of Making Dua While Travelling;

  • As much as praying five times a day holds significance, travelling dua’s and supplications hold equal importance.
  • Allah will answer your travel prayers if they are in your favour.
  • Prayers for a good and pious husband or wife are granted if the person praying is unmarried. Prayers for the husband or wife to stay on the right path are all granted if married.
  • Making dua while entering your vehicle and starting your long journey keeps you safe from accidents.
  • If you are in any distress or hardship regarding health, children, faith, relationships, or finances, Allah SWT will answer your prayers as He is the closest to the travellers.
  • Maintains a strong connection with Allah and gives you a sense of satisfaction.
  • Increases your faith and protects you from the wrong while travelling .
  • Allah SWT always awards the duas while performing Umrah. The duas you can make while fulfilling the obligations of Umrah are for parents, children, siblings, friends, faith, finance, life, and health.
  • While travelling in remote areas or at night, travel dua safeguards you from accidents, environmental hazards, and dangerous creatures.

Prayers, supplications, and travelling duas are essential aspects of a Muslim’s life, specifically while travelling.

Following the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH, during travelling , we convert the journey into a prayer, which guides us to the correct paths and protects us from all kinds of evil.

Recitations from the Holy Quran, Islamic dua for travelling, as the Prophet Muhammad SAW mentioned, and Sunnah prayers will help you through the hurdles during the travel journey.

Travellers Dua Accepted

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: “Three supplications are accepted, there is no doubt in them (about them being accepted): The supplication of the oppressed, the supplication of the traveler, and the supplication of his father against his son.”

Dua when Starting a Journey on a Plane, Car, or Any Mode of Transport

Importance of dua for travell.

In the Sunnah, there are several Adhkaar that it is mustahabb for the one who wants to travel to say. It was reported by ‘Abd-Allaah ibn’ Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Apostle of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went up on his camel to go on a journey say takbeer three He then said, “Subhaan allathi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrineen wa inna ila rabbi the munqaliboon. Allaahumma inna nas’aluka fi safarina haadha al-birra wa’l-taqwa wa min al-‘aml ma tarda, Allaahumma hawwin alayna safarana haadha watwi ‘anna bu’dahu. Allaahumma anta al-Saahib fi’l-safar wa’l-Khaleefah fi’l-ahl. Allaahumma inni a’oodhu bika min wa’tha ‘al-safar wa ka’aabat al-manzar wa su’ al-munqalib fi’l-maali wa’l-ahl (Glory to him who placed it (transport) in our service and ourselves would not have been able to do so, and to our Lord is our ultimate destiny O Allah, we ask you for righteousness and piety in our journey, and we ask you for acts that please you. facilitate our journey and let us cover his distance quickly O Allah, you are the companion of the journey and the Successor (the one who keeps them in case of absence) on the family O Allah, I seek refuge from you the difficulties travel, change of heart and bad situation, and I seek a refuge from You for an unfortunate result with regard to wealth and family). “And when he comes back, he would say the same words, with the following addition:” Aayiboona taa’iboona ‘aabidoona li rabbina haamidoon (return, repentance, farewell and praising our Lord). Narrated by Muslim (1342).

Dua For Travelling Salafi

The expression “wa ma kunna lahu muqrineen (and we ourselves would not be able to do so)” means: we would not have been able to control it and use it, if Allah had not put it to our service “Difficulties of travel” means difficulties, “Change of heart” means changes caused by grief and similar events: “unfortunate outcome” means on the return See Sharh al-Nawawi, ala Muslim (9/111) We do not know if there is a specific dua in the Sunnah to protect a traveler until he returns safe and sound to his family, but if the traveler recites the Adhkaar regularly morning and evening and asks to Allah to protect him rings and says the dua ‘to travel which is quoted above, then we hope that Allah will answer his prayer and protect him and bring him back safely to his family, unless Allah wills in his wisdom to test His slave, in which case nothing can deliver the decree of Allah.

Dua For Travelling Abroad

What he should remember when he wants to leave his home – to travel or for other purposes – and that he hopes that Allah will protect him, is the reported story of Anas ibn Maalik (may Allah be pleased with him) from him), according to which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever says – that is to say, when he leaves his house – Bismillaah, tawakkaltu ‘ala Allah, wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa Billaah (In the name of Allah, I trust Allah, there is neither power nor strength except with Allah) “, he will be told: you are caught in charge, you are protected and guided, the demons will move away from you him, and a devil says: What can you do with a man who has been guided, cared for and protected? Reported by Abu Dawood (5095) and Al-Tirmidhi (3462); classified as Saheeh by al-Albaani in Sahih Abi Dawood. In Awn al-Ma’bood (13/297), it is written: “So, it is said”, it is an angel who cried to him: O slave of Allah. “You have been guided”, that is, “on the way to the truth”, “you have been cared for” means that your worries are taken care of.
