Metalcore giants The Amity Affliction will embark on a headline tour across the country this November for the 10th anniversary of their acclaimed album “ Let the Ocean Take Me”.

Metalcore giants The Amity Affliction will embark on a headline tour across the country this November for the 10th anniversary of their acclaimed album “ Let the Ocean Take Me”.  

To celebrate their seminal fourth studio release, the band will be performing the album in its entirety each night along with fan favourites from their extensive catalogue.

Joining The Amity Affliction across all dates will be Ice Nine Kills, We Came As Romans and Heavensgate.

Ice Nine Kills

Dan Sugarman (guitar/vocals), Ricky Armellino (guitar/vocals), Patrick Galante (drums), and Joe Occhuiti (bass/vocals) are the current co-conspirators behind Charnas, who founded the band as a teen in the early 2000s.

Decadent, devious, and fiercely insane, ICE NINE KILLS celebrate pop culture’s darkest edges, mining a cinephile library’s worth of iconic horror on The Silver Scream and The Silver Scream 2 . The creative marriage made in hell of music and fiction began in earnest with the Top 5 Hard Rock album, Every Trick in the Book , which brought the previous three records’ themes to new levels.

We Came As Romans

We Came As Romans’ initial ascent was quick and assured, catapulting the band (who met as teens) into the hearts of diehard fans immersed in the metalcore, post-hardcore, and Warped Tour subculture.

Show Review: The Amity Affliction, Comeback Kid, and More at Leeds Beckett Students Union in Leeds, UK

Australian emotive metalcore band The Amity Affliction returned to the U.K. as part of their Not Without My Ghosts tour, with fellow Aussies Alpha Wolf, Canadian hardcore giants Comeback Kid, and Cali metalcore trio Mugshot as support.

Kicking off a sold-out show at Leeds’ Beckett Student’s Union, Mugshot was the perfect entrée to a night of hard/metalcore with their rage-filled vocals and riffs.

Alpha Wolf got the bodies moving and throats warmed up. With confidence oozing from towering guitarist Sabian and frontman Lochie, the crowd were lapping up their set of songs mostly from their 2020 album, A Quiet Place to Die.

Long-running hardcore group Comeback Kid are always an unforgettable experience live. Combining vocalist Andrew’s contagious energy—he doesn’t stop for a second, two-stepping and jumping between ferocious verses—with killer bass riffs, from opener “Heavy Steps” to final track and absolute hardcore classic “Wake The Dead”, the room could’ve registered on the Richter scale.

This might be the Not Without My Ghosts tour, but The Amity Affliction blasted through seventeen songs spanning their entire discography, opening with Let The Ocean Take Me’s “Death’s Hand.” Joel and Ahren’s powerful vocals and the band’s heavy riffs were complimented by the stage riser showing video clips to create a multi-sensory show that really brought their emotional lyrics to life. The band played a handful of tracks from the tour’s namesake album, including its title track and previous single “It’s Hell Down Here,” before closing their set with their 2020 breakout single “Soak Me In Bleach.”

Twenty years into their career, The Amity Affliction show no signs of slowing down, with their promise of nothing but growth and evolution displayed just as much on stage as it is on record.

The annual UK pop and rock festival will return from August 23 to 25

Reading & Leeds festival has announced more names for its lineup for 2024.

The three-day weekender’s headliners have already been confirmed as Blink-182 , Fred Again…, Lana Del Rey, Liam Gallagher, Catfish And The Bottlemen and Gerry Cinnamon.

Also appearing across the weekend will be Spiritbox , The Prodigy, Denzel Curry, 21 Savage, Pendulum, Skrillex, Loathe, Fontaines D.C., The Amity Affliction and more.

The festival’s new poster, featuring every newly announced name, is available below.

Reading & Leeds is an annual two-site weekender, which this year will take place at Little John’s Farm, central Reading, and Bramham Park, Leeds, from August 23 to August 25. Weekend and day tickets for both sites are available now .

Blink-182 will play the festival as part of their ongoing tour to promote new album One More Time… . The album marked the first time the pop-punks’ classic lineup of singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge, singer/bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker recorded together since 2011’s Neighborhoods .

Louder attended Blink-182’s concert at the O2 Arena, London, in October 2023.

Journalist Merlin Alderslade called the night “silly, puerile, epic, cathartic and, on more than one occasion, surprisingly emotional” in his four-star review .

“Hoppus, DeLonge and the ever-impressive Travis Barker are all on peak form,” Alderslade wrote.

“DeLonge's iconic yowls are in much better shape than during his last run with the band, his trademark harmonising with Hoppus rolling back the years as Barker batters the hell out of the kit behind them like a man possessed.”

Reading & Leeds 2023 was headlined by Sam Fender, Foals, The Killers, Lewis Capaldi, Billie Eilish and Imagine Dragons.

What can I say??? These guy's NEVER disappoint. From when the came onto the stage to their final song, they have an aura, and a presence that I dont seem to get with many other bands.

They mixed some new songs with some of their older stuff, Open Letter always getting the crowd going.

Just a pity they were supporting Beartooth and not the headline, as this means only 40 mins of this fabulous foursome... Thsnk you again, for a memory I will never forget..

it was a really good show! most of the pits were filled with big men, they had a wall of death, but it was really cool, the fans are super nice and people watch out for each other and pick each other right up when they fall in the pit! i saw someone’s phone fall out of their pocket and gave it back to them when i saw them come out of the pit and they were super grateful!!!!!

Amity Affliction was great! They played quite a few songs from Misery and also a few from some of there older albums. Overall their performance was great, there were lots of mosh pits and a couple wall of deaths aswell. The crowd was very energetic when they came on. I'll definitely be going to another concert of theirs.

THE AMITY AFFLICTION Announce Spring 2024 Headline Tour, Band to Perform “Let The Ocean Take Me” In Full

Australian metalcore trailblazers  The Amity Affliction   —  Joel Birch  [vocals],  Ahren Stringer  [vocals, bass],  Dan Brown  [lead guitar], and  Joe Longobardi  [drums]— will return to North America for a headline tour this spring.

On this run, the band will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of their beloved and iconic metal album  “Let the Ocean Take Me”   and will be performing the album in its entirety. It’s no doubt a treat for diehard fans to see favorites like “Pittsburgh,” “Don’t Lean On Me,” and more.

The tour kicks off April 26 in San Diego and runs through June 6 in Los Angeles. Currents ,  Dying Wish , and  Mugshot  will serve as support. Tickets go on sale on Thursday, January 25 at 10 am local time.

The Amity Affliction Announce Ahren Stringer’s Departure From US Tour To Receive Mental Health Support

As The Amity Affliction closes in on the final dates of an extensive US tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of their 2014 album Let The Ocean Take Me , the Gympie post-hardcore icons have announced their bassist and clean singer Ahren Stringer will be leaving the tour early to focus on his mental health.

In a social media post, they shared the news of Stringer’s imminent return to Australia.

“We regret to inform you that Ahren will not be joining us for the remainder of our North American tour dates,” the band wrote. “Tim Beken, known from True North, will step in for the upcoming shows until Ahren’s return.”

Stringer’s departure is attributed to his need for support in dealing with addiction, prioritising his mental health and wellbeing.

The band expressed their gratitude to fans, stating, “This tour has been our best US tour ever, and we look forward to seeing you on the road. Feel free to bring signs of support for Ahren, which we can send to him at home. He needs as much support as we can possibly give him.”

They concluded:”Thank you for understanding and please respect Ahren’s privacy as well as ours. This is a heartbreaking matter that we will be working through internally as we look forward to his recovery and return.”

In his  own solo post , Stringer’s co-vocalist and songwriting partner, Joel Birch, confessed that he felt “crushed” by the decision but acknowledged that the band have “made the right move for our dear friend’s health”.

“This fucking sucks, but we carry on, and we owe a huge thank you to True North for loaning us Tim temporarily,” Birch continued. “Ahren is not being replaced, ever, everything is temporary. Thank you for understanding.”

The Amity Affliction  are scheduled to bring their Let The Ocean Take Me anniversary tour down under this November with US horror rock icons  Ice Nine Kills .
