Star Trek is currently in a bit of a purple patch for content as Paramount Plus , which is the home of all things Star Trek, is responsible for several new shows in recent years. But, it's not just new content, you'll also find where to stream the classics both movies and TV series below.

Before, Star Trek content was scattered all around different streaming services and searching for what you wanted to watch could feel like hunting for a cloaked Bird of Prey. However, these days you're able to stream all Star Trek content out there on Paramount Plus. However, we do have round-ups of the best sci-fi movies and TV shows on Netflix , Disney Plus and Amazon if you want to check them out.

Star Trek Movies and Shows

Launched on September 8, 1966 — nearly 54 years ago — the NBC-TV series Star Trek was the beginning of a new age of science fiction on television and, eventually, the big screen. The first show to echo the sophistication and vision of sci-fi literature , Star Trek was only a cult hit at the time of its initial run but refused to die even after its cancellation, with the original 79 episodes running for years in syndication.

More than five decades later, Star Trek encompasses eight TV series (a total of 764 episodes and counting) and 13 films, plus countless books, comics, games and more. It’s had its ups and downs, its high points and its misfires, but it remains one of the most beloved and durable franchises in all of pop culture.

Now, thanks to streaming, all those episodes and movies are available to watch any time (we know you diehard Trekkers have the Blu-rays and DVDs, but you don’t have to break those out anymore). Below is a handy guide to where you can stream every iteration of Trek , from The Original Series to the movies to the new Star Trek: Picard . Grab your remote and boldly go…

Star Trek TV

Star Trek: The Original Series

Star Trek: The Original Series (1966-1969)

The one that started it all, the original Star Trek came along at a time when most screen sci-fi (movies and TV) was still just monster movies or kiddie fare ( Lost in Space , anyone?). Gene Roddenberry ’s vision of an intelligent, allegorical sci-fi series, which used actual genre writers for much of its first two seasons, was groundbreaking in ways that reverberate to this day. And its cast, led by William Shatner as Captain Kirk, Leonard Nimoy as Spock and DeForest Kelley as Dr. McCoy, became iconic.

Star Trek: The Animated Series

Star Trek: The Animated Series (1973-1974)

Using the voices of many of the original cast members and even employing writers from the original series, TAS had a genuine chance to extend the original show with the visual freedom animation offered. But the format turned out to be its enemy, as clunky, cheap animation and frequent reuse of shots gave the show a shoddy, amateurish reputation. Some of the stories are quite good, however.

Star Trek: The Next Generation

Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987-1994)

Set nearly a century after the original series, with Gene Roddenberry mandating that conflict between the crew members be diminished by that point, ST: TNG proved to be enormously popular even with a brand new, unfamiliar crew. It took most of three seasons for the show to find its footing, but Captain Picard (a magnificent Patrick Stewart ) and company went on many captivating and genuinely outstanding adventures of their own.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993-1999)

Many fans consider DS9 the best Trek series ever , and they certainly can make a good argument for it: the first Trek show not set on a starship, but instead on a remote space station, DS9 addressed cultural divides, character conflict, religion and war in a bolder fashion that any Trek entry before it — while also utilizing the kind of serialized storytelling that is now the standard across the medium.

Available in the UK on Netflix UK , Amazon UK* (*purchase only)

Star Trek: Voyager

Star Trek: Voyager (1995-2001)

Voyager found members of a Federation starship and the rebel Maquis stranded together 70,000 years from Earth in the Delta Quadrant, facing a 75-year journey home. Headed by Trek ’s first female captain , Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), Voyager encountered all kinds of interesting new races as well as old enemies the Borg during the long and often compelling journey home.

Star Trek: Enterprise

Star Trek: Enterprise (2001-2005)

The first series to act as a prequel, set a decade before the creation of what would become the United Federation of Planets, Enterprise followed the crew of the first ship to bear that name. Uneven in quality and struggling to find resonant stories, Enterprise was canceled after four seasons and ended an 18-year run for Trek on TV.

Available in the US on Amazon , Netflix , Hulu , CBS All Access

Star Trek: Discovery

Star Trek: Discovery (2017- )

Set 10 years prior to TOS , Discovery ’s troubled birth (it went through numerous delays and several showrunners) led to the most polarizing show in the franchise to date. Focusing for once on a central character other than the captain — mutinous anthropologist Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green), who turns out to be the adopted sister of one Mr. Spock — it has often ignored or played fast and loose with Trek continuity while painting Starfleet in a more conspiratorial light. Season 3 will debut in 2020.

Star Trek: Picard

Star Trek: Picard (2020- )

Like Discovery before it, Picard has divided Star Trek fans with its depiction of a Federation in decline, marked by bigotry, deception and treachery. But there is no questioning the powerful presence of Patrick Stewart, playing an older, flawed Picard for the first time in 18 years, and the thrill of seeing old friends like Seven of Nine, Will Riker and Deanna Troi. The show has certainly had its moments ; we’ll see if more are to come in the already-announced season 2 .

Star Trek: The Motion Picture

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)

After an aborted attempt at a second TV series ( Star Trek: Phase II ), Paramount Pictures brought Trek to the big screen in a lavish, $40 million epic (the most expensive movie of its time) that reunited the original crew in a 2001 -like encounter with a massive, mysterious space probe. Slow-moving, alternately impressive and shaky visually, ST: TMP nevertheless proved that the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise could hold their own on the big screen — and strangely, the film has actually aged better than most.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)

Still considered the finest Trek movie of all , and rightfully so, The Wrath of Khan focused — like the original show — on character and story instead of visual effects and esoteric concepts. Bringing back a deadly enemy from the first season, the generic superman Khan (Ricardo Montalban), the movie was thrilling, dramatic and, with the death of Spock at the finale, incredibly moving.

Star Trek III: The Search for Spock

Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984)

Even though the end of Star Trek II strongly hinted at Spock’s return, it wasn’t a given. But Leonard Nimoy did come back for Star Trek III — as director (and yes, as Spock too in the film’s closing minutes) of this somber and often underrated entry . Captain Kirk loses almost everything — his beloved ship, his commission and his newly reconciled son — to save his friend’s life in a poignant story about friendship and loyalty. And there’s a bad-ass villain too, a Klingon captain played to the hilt by Christopher Lloyd.

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986)

Leonard Nimoy’s second outing as director is both a comedy and an environmentally themed adventure — and it turned out to be one of the biggest hits of the franchise. This light-hearted romp sent Kirk and the gang back to 20 th century San Francisco to rescue a pair of humpback whales, and the fish-out-of-water (pun intended) antics of the crew provide plenty of laughs and a ton of heart.

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989)

Shatner got behind the camera for this turgid, unfunny mess , which regularly rates near the bottom of any Trekker’s list. The old “alien pretending to be God” trope, a long-lost brother we never knew Spock had and the other cast members acting by and large like buffoons make this perhaps the most embarrassing of the Enterprise ’s big screen voyages. There are a few nice moments — there always are — but this nowhere near first on our revisit list.

Available in the UK on NOW TV , * Amazon UK , *YouTube , * Sky Store (*purchase/rent only)

Star Trek IV: The Undiscovered Country

Star Trek IV: The Undiscovered Country (1991)

The classic Trek cast bounced back from Star Trek V with a final adventure that was also one of their best . A suspenseful, urgent meditation on aging, grievance and the end of the Cold War, Star Trek IV was a remarkable example of how Trek could show us at our finest even while facing down our lingering demons. Plus it ends with both a great space battle and one of the greatest cast send-offs ever (which was emulated by none other than Avengers Endgame ).

Star Trek: Generations

Star Trek: Generations (1994)

What could have been a magnificent passing of the torch from the classic Trek cast to the TNG crew ends up looking and feeling more like a tepid extended TNG episode with weak cameos from Kirk, Scotty (James Doohan) and Chekov (Walter Koenig). Patrick Stewart and his team are all solid, as is villain Malcolm McDowell, and the crashing of the Enterprise is a genuinely gripping setpiece. But the story and motivations are undercooked — as is most of the movie.

Available in the UK on NOW TV , * Amazon UK , * Sky Store , * YouTube (*purchase/rent only)

Star Trek: First Contact

Star Trek: First Contact (1996)

Easily the best of the TNG quartet, First Contact travels back in time to the very start of Earth’s push into space, where the Borg intends to cripple humanity once and for all. The crew of the Enterprise follow them to make sure history isn’t changed, even as Picard confronts his fear and hatred of the Borg . Jonathan Frakes does a nice first-time directing job, balancing the action and character work ably, while Alice Krige steals the show as the sensual Borg Queen.

Star Trek: Insurrection

Star Trek: Insurrection (1998)

Like Generations , the third TNG theatrical outing feels like a mediocre TV segment stretched to feature length; even Frakes’ direction seems uninspired. One difference: with Picard fighting a secret plan (engineered by F. Murray Abraham, above) to uproot the natives of a “fountain of youth” planet, the seeds were planted for later Trek entries that portrayed an increasingly corrupt Federation. Otherwise, this is a forgettable, often cheesy film.

Star Trek: Nemesis

Star Trek: Nemesis (2002)

The final big-screen outing for the TNG cast is better than its reputation suggests , as Picard squares off against a renegade Romulan who happens to be his clone. Tom Hardy chews the scenery fabulously as the latter, and the climactic battle between his massive ship and the Enterprise is well handled by director Stuart Baird. There’s also a surprising emotional payoff for Data (Brent Spiner) that ends up being the hook for Star Trek: Picard 18 years later.

Star Trek (2009)

Star Trek (2009)

J.J. Abrams does what many thought couldn’t be done — he reboots Star Trek with a fresh, young cast inhabiting the original roles made iconic by Shatner, Nimoy and their crew. The new cast, led by Chris Pine as Kirk and Zachary Quinto as Spock, is the best thing about the film, which also uses a clever plot device to position this timeline just slightly to the side of the original one. The reliance on action over ideas is a bit of a letdown, and unfortunately would carry over to the next two movies.

Available in the UK on Netflix , NOW TV , * Amazon UK , * Sky Store , * YouTube (*purchase/rent only)

Star Trek Into Darkness

Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)

One of the worst Trek films ever , right down there with The Final Frontier . STID insults both fans and casual viewers with a brain-dead script, frantic action and massive contrivances (such as the sudden ability for someone to beam across the galaxy or the screenwriters’ well-worn “magic blood” gimmick). But its most egregious offense is turning into a half-assed remake of The Wrath of Khan that’s as dumb as it is pointless. This is what happens when people tackle Trek with no understanding of it.

Available in the UK on * Amazon UK , * Sky Store , * YouTube (*purchase/rent only)

Star Trek Beyond

Star Trek Beyond (2016)

Still too reliant on action over depth, and featuring the third revenge-driven storyline in a row, Star Trek Beyond is nevertheless better than its predecessor . It mostly works as a standalone adventure, and once again the Pine/Quinto cast delivers with heart. But even though Beyond does occasionally capture the vibe of classic Trek , there’s a vague sense of desperation at work — like the franchise knows it’s run out of gas (and crashing the Enterprise for the third time in 13 films doesn’t help).

  • There are now 12 shows and 13 movies in the "Star Trek" franchise.
  • The iconic sci-fi series focuses on the lives of Starfleet members as they explore the universe.
  • Most "Star Trek" titles are available to stream on Paramount Plus ($5/month).

Insider Today

The "Star Trek" franchise continues to boldly go where no man has gone before. From "The Original Series" in 1966 to the spin-offs, sequels, and prequels of today, "Star Trek" has been a pop culture mainstay for more than 50 years.

The franchise focuses on the adventures of various Starfleet crew members as they travel throughout the universe. And beneath the series' fun escapism, "Star Trek" movies and shows have used science fiction to comment on issues like racism, sexism, human rights, and politics. By exploring new worlds in "The Original Series," creator Gene Roddenberry was able to tell allegorical stories with thoughtful themes that relate to our own experiences.

In many ways, "Star Trek" has always highlighted diverse storytelling. In fact, one of the first interracial kisses ever aired on TV was in an episode of "The Original Series." This mix of sci-fi entertainment and social commentary is still present in the latest "Star Trek" installments, most of which air as Paramount Plus originals. "Star Trek: Discovery" introduced multiple queer leads, including the first transgender and non-binary characters in the "Star Trek" universe.

If you're a new fan looking to explore the world of "Star Trek" for the first time, or you're a devoted Trekkie who just wants to watch it all over again, we've compiled a list of every "Star Trek" movie and TV show, along with details on where you can stream them all right now.

Where to watch 'Star Trek' shows

There are 12 "Star Trek" shows in total, including nine live-action series and three animated shows. All of the shows are available on Paramount Plus, and many are also available to buy or rent from video-on-demand (VOD) services. One series, "Deep Space Nine," is also streaming on Netflix.

Where to watch 'Star Trek' movies

The "Star Trek" franchise includes 13 movies from 1979 to 2016. A new movie is also set to begin production in spring 2022. You can currently watch every "Star Trek" film on Paramount Plus. The movies are also available to buy or rent without a subscription through different VOD services, and you can stream a couple for free with ads.

'Star Trek' timeline and eras explained

"Star Trek" movies and TV shows all take place in different time periods that focus on different crews and starships. These time periods are generally categorized by fans and creators into four distinct eras: Pre-TOS, TOS, TNG, and Kelvin

Pre-TOS era

Movies and TV shows set during the Pre-The Original Series (Pre-TOS) era take place at some point before James T. Kirk becomes captain of the Enterprise.

A few notable series set during this early time period include "Star Trek: Enterprise," "Star Trek: Discovery," and " Star Trek: Strange New Worlds ."

The Original Series (TOS) era of movies and TV shows follows the crew members on the starship USS Enterprise after Kirk (William Shatner) becomes captain. Other notable characters featured during this period include Spock (Leonard Nimoy), Dr. McCoy (DeForest Kelley), Nyota Uhura (Nichelle Nichols), and Hikaru Sulu (George Takei).

The Original Series era includes the first "Star Trek" TV show from the 1960s, as well as several spin-off movies that feature Captain Kirk and his crew.

The Next Generation (TNG) era is set 100 years after Kirk's adventures during "The Original Series," and includes movies and TV shows about the new crew of the USS Enterprise with Patrick Stewart as Captain Picard.

"Deep Space Nine" and "Voyager" are set during this time period as well, but focus on other crews and starships. Captain Picard's story also continues after "The Next Generation" in the Paramount Plus original series "Star Trek: Picard."

Kelvin Timeline

The Kelvin Timeline was introduced in 2009 with the release of director J.J. Abrams' first "Star Trek" movie starring Chris Pine as Captain Kirk and Zachary Quinto as Commander Spock. This film features the crew from "The Original Series" but takes place in an alternate universe that's separate from the main "Star Trek" timeline.

In this version of events, Kirk still becomes Captain of the USS Enterprise but his path to get there is brand new, which gives the writers freedom to explore different storylines with familiar characters.

The Kelvin Timeline includes "Star Trek" (2009), "Star Trek Into Darkness" (2013), and "Star Trek Beyond" (2016). An upcoming fourth movie in the Kelvin Timeline is set to begin production in spring 2022.

Although it only lasted for three seasons in the 1960s, the original Star Trek has become one of the most influential TV series---and pieces of science fiction in any medium---of all time. Creator Gene Roddenberry's utopian vision focuses on exploration rather than conflict, as the starship Enterprise seeks out "new life and new civilizations." Led by William Shatner's hotheaded Capt. James T. Kirk, Leonard Nimoy's logical Vulcan Mr. Spock, and DeForest Kelley's irascible Dr. McCoy, Star Trek remains a sci-fi gold standard.

Seasons 1-3 of Star Trek are streaming on Paramount+ ($4.99+ per month after a seven-day free trial).

Thanks to the popularity of Star Trek reruns, NBC brought back Gene Roddenberry and many of the show's writers and actors for this animated version, which lasted for two seasons in the 1970s. It follows the continuing adventures of the Enterprise crew and has been considered an extension of the original series, with characters and concepts that later made their way into live-action. The animation may be rudimentary, but the stories are every bit as thoughtful and layered as the episodes of the original series.

Following the continued success of Star Trek reruns and theatrical films, creator Gene Roddenberry launched a new series with a new Enterprise crew, set even further in the future. Starring Patrick Stewart as Capt. Jean-Luc Picard, The Next Generation continues Roddenberry's focus on a harmonious future, while expanding on alien races and galactic regions introduced in the original series. Co-starring Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, LeVar Burton, Marina Sirtis, and more, The Next Generation has become every bit as iconic as its predecessor, setting the stage for decades of Trek to come.

Seasons 1-7 of Star Trek: The Next Generation are streaming on  Paramount+ ($4.99+ per month after a seven-day free trial).

Overlapping with the end of The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine is the first Star Trek series to take place away from the Enterprise, set on a space station located in a volatile area of the galaxy. Avery Brooks leads the series as Capt. Benjamin Sisko, overseeing an unpredictable crew of Starfleet officers and alien allies, along with an entire station's worth of residents and businesses. In its later seasons, Deep Space Nine introduced serialized storytelling to Trek for the first time, gaining a reputation as the darkest and most mature Trek series to date.

Returning to the exploratory missions of a starship, Voyager takes Star Trek into an entirely new quadrant of the galaxy. The crew of the titular vessel is transported via a mysterious energy wave into an area of space where Starfleet has never been. Capt. Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) must lead her crew on a long journey home, while navigating the unfamiliar threats in this strange new region. Voyager expands the scope of Star Trek's universe while introducing fan-favorite characters like the holographic Doctor (Robert Picardo) and the former Borg Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan).

Seasons 1-7 of Star Trek: Voyager are streaming on  Paramount+ ($4.99+ per month after a seven-day free trial).

A prequel set in the years before the formation of the galaxy-spanning United Federation of Planets, Enterprise takes place on the starship Enterprise a century before it's occupied by Capt. Kirk and his crew. The primarily human crew is led by Capt. Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula), as inhabitants of Earth are just beginning to explore the galaxy and encounter some of Star Trek's familiar alien races. Enterprise features a more action-oriented focus than previous Trek series, setting the tone for Trek series and movies to come, and its later seasons are driven by long-term serialized stories.

Seasons 1-4 of Star Trek: Enterprise are streaming on  Paramount+ ($4.99+ per month after a seven-day free trial).

After a dormant period of more than a decade following the cancellation of Enterprise, Discovery brings Star Trek into the streaming era with another prequel. Set after Enterprise but before the original series, Discovery stars Sonequa Martin-Green as Commander Michael Burnham, the science officer on the starship Discovery. The first two seasons explore the early days of the Federation and revisit many classic Trek themes and characters. In later seasons, both the starship and the show are thrust forward hundreds of years into the future, truly going boldly where no Trek has gone before.

Seasons 1-4 of Star Trek: Discovery are streaming on  Paramount+ ($4.99+ per month after a seven-day free trial).

In conjunction with Star Trek's streaming revival, this anthology of bite-size episodes provides supplemental stories for the new Trek era. Some are standalone pieces highlighting minor characters or side stories from Star Trek: Discovery, while others tie more closely to ongoing plots from Discovery (and later Star Trek: Picard as well). It's another way for Star Trek's creators to illustrate their expansive universe of galactic space exploration.

All episodes of Star Trek: Short Treks are streaming on  Paramount+ ($4.99+ per month after a seven-day free trial).

Patrick Stewart reprises his Star Trek: The Next Generation role of Capt. Jean-Luc Picard in a series set 20 years after Picard's last Star Trek appearance. The retired Picard returns to active duty with a new mission and a new crew, in a slower, more character-driven story than other Trek series. In addition to Stewart, actors from other past Trek series, including Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, and Jeri Ryan, make appearances, as Picard struggles to find his place in a changed Starfleet that no longer reflects his values.

Seasons 1-2 of Star Trek: Picard are streaming on  Paramount+ ($4.99+ per month after a seven-day free trial).

The first animated Star Trek series since the 1970s is also the first overtly comedic Trek series, focusing on a group of lower-level recruits who do all the grunt work on intergalactic voyages. Set around the end of the Next Generation/Deep Space Nine/Voyager era, Lower Decks takes place on the Cerritos, a Starfleet ship mostly assigned to minor missions. The creators combine gentle mockery with a deep love for and knowledge of Trek lore, which makes them perfect for taking the franchise down a peg.

Star Trek returns to animation again for this family-friendly series aimed at bringing in a younger audience. Like Star Trek: Voyager, Prodigy takes place in the remote Delta Quadrant, where a rowdy group of young aliens from a prison colony discover an abandoned Starfleet ship. They take control of the ship so they can escape their grim circumstances, in a harsh backwater beyond the reach of the United Federation of Planets. As they flee the colony's cruel overlord, they're trained in starship operations by a hologram of Voyager's legendary Kathryn Janeway (voiced by Kate Mulgrew).

Season 1 of Star Trek: Prodigy is streaming on  Paramount+ ($4.99+ per month after a seven-day free trial).

A spin-off of Star Trek: Discovery, Strange New Worlds takes place on the Enterprise before Capt. Kirk took over, when it was led by Capt. Christopher Pike (Anson Mount). Pike is joined by younger versions of familiar characters who've served on the Enterprise, including Spock (Ethan Peck) and Nyota Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding). In contrast to the heavily serialized storytelling of other modern Star Trek series, Strange New Worlds focuses primarily on single-episode stories, enhancing its throwback style.

From low-budget romps to high-energy blockbuster films,  Star Trek  has become one of the most influential sci-fi franchises of all time. While  Trek  has decades worth of TV, film, and animated iterations that might rival  Star Wars , it also has its own unique legacy and long-time, passionate cult following (and merch ).

With the release of  Star Trek : Discovery in 2017, the Trek television universe has become one of the highlights of original programming on  Paramount+ . Unlike Kevin Feige ‘s aggressive rollout of new shows for Phase Four of the  Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+,  Paramount+  has done particularly well with releasing short series over the past few years for this newest wave of  Star Trek . Helmed by Alex Kurtzman, series like  Star Trek: Lower Decks  and  Picard  have pushed the boundaries of what can be done with the universe’s canon in their first seasons so far.

Star Trek The Original Series on CBS All Access

  • Boldly go: CBS All Access (From $5.99 a month)

Every single episode of the classic Trek

It's sort of hard to overstate the impact that the original Star Trek series — aka Star Trek: The Original Series has had on the past 50-something years of culture. Not just television. Not just film. Not just books. But culture .

And while TOS only lasted three seasons (though this was back in a time in which a season would span more than 10 episodes) over less than three years, there's no mistaking its influence today. Not just in science-fiction, but in countless other genres.

But when was the last time you watched the original Kirk and Spock and Bones and Scott? And, for that matter, where can you watch the original Star Trek in the 21st Century?

The answer turns out to be fairly simple. You can watch every episode of The Original Series — and every episode of every single Star Trek series, for that matter — on CBS All Access.

You've got a couple options here, too. The basic CBS All Access plan is $5.99 a month and comes with limited commercials on most of the shows. But if you bump things up to the $9.99-a-month plan you can watch with fewer commercial interruptions.

And one other improvement over the old days is that Star Trek: The Original Series has been remastered to 1080p resolution. (That's a vast improvement over the 480i resolution used for the original broadcasts.) The audio has been improved as well, moving from a monaural output to Dolby Digital 5.1. So not only will the original Trek look better than it's ever looked, it'll sound better, too. (And if you've never heard a theremin in surround sound, well, get ready.)

CBS All Access is available on pretty much any device you own, including Android and iOS devices, Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, and more.

Ready to boldly go where no man has gone before? Dock your ship at the nearest space station, and prepare for warp speed, Star Trek fans! Here’s a handy captain’s log for determining which streaming service your favorite Star Trek films are on.

If you’ve never jumped into these, there’s a common rule that only the even-numbered movies are good in the Trek franchise. ( Wrath of Khan , Voyage Home , Undiscovered Country , and First Contact are all fun. Nemesis is the exception to the rule.)

Star Trek: The Motion Picture

When a destructive space entity is spotted approaching Earth, Admiral Kirk (William Shatner) must resume command of the Starship Enterprise. It’s up to him and his crew to intercept, examine, and hopefully stop it before it can cause any more harm.

star trek streaming service

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

This one is often cited as the best Star Trek movie of all time! Admiral James T. Kirk is feeling old; the prospect of accompanying the Enterprise on a two-week cadet cruise is not helping to make him feel any younger. All bets are off, however, once the training cruise transforms into a life or death struggle. The hated Khan (Ricardo Montalban) has escaped from years of exile, and is preparing to harness the power of creation itself.

High stakes, fun twists, a great score from James Horner, and one of the most memorable endings in movie history help make this a must-watch!

star trek streaming service

Star Trek III: The Search for Spock

Admiral Kirk and his bridge crew embark on a mission - this time the stakes are personal: They must recover the body of their beloved comrade, Spock (Leonard Nimoy). To return to the restricted Genesis planet, however, they will have to risk their careers and steal the since-decommissioned Enterprise. Worth the price of admission if only to see Christopher Lloyd as a Klingon.

star trek streaming service

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

Definitely the funniest Trek flick. Now fugitives of the Federation for their daring rescue of Spock, Kirk and his crew begin their journey home to face justice. As they near Earth, they find it at the mercy of a mysterious alien presence whose signals are slowly destroying the planet. In a desperate attempt to answer the call of the probe, Kirk and his crew race back to the late twentieth century. The world they once knew has since turned more alien than anything they’ve encountered in the far reaches of the galaxy!

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier

Captain Kirk and his crew must contend with Spock’s half brother, Sybok (Laurence Luckinbill). He has made enemies by kidnapping three diplomats and hijacking the Enterprise in his obsessive search for God. In the start of the movie, Captain Kirk climbs a mountain. Here’s a song about it.

star trek streaming service

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country

On the eve of retirement, Kirk and McCoy (DeForest Kelley) are charged with assassinating the Klingon High Chancellor and imprisoned. The Enterprise crew must help them escape to thwart a conspiracy aimed at sabotaging the last best hope for peace. This entry is fuses action with a murder mystery, and it’s an under-appreciated gem.

star trek streaming service

Star Trek: Generations

The first of the films to feature the crew of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the crew of the Enterprise-D find themselves at odds with the renegade scientist Soran (Malcolm McDowell). Only one man can help Picard stop Soran from destroying entire star systems … but he’s been dead for 78 years.

star trek streaming service

Star Trek: First Contact

The Borg, a relentless race of cyborgs, are on a direct course for Earth. Violating orders to stay away from the battle, Captain Picard and the crew of the newly-commissioned USS Enterprise E pursue the Borg back in time to prevent the invaders from changing Federation history and assimilating the galaxy.

This is the closest the Trek franchise comes to an outright action movie. Alice Krige is a great Borg Queen, and Alfre Woodard is really great acting opposite Patrick Stewart. Some have speculated that James Cromwell’s flawed visionary, Zefram Cochrane, is meant to represent Gene Roddenberry himself.

star trek streaming service

Star Trek: Insurrection

The Son’a aren’t the only ones interested in taking over the planet of the Ba’ku; Starfleet is after it too. Captain Picard and the crew of the Enterprise can see the planet for more than just its “regenerative” properties, however, and it’s soon up to them to defend not only the planet’s people - but the very ideals upon which the Federation itself was founded.

star trek streaming service

Star Trek: Nemesis

After the wedding of William Riker (Jonathan Frakes) to Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis), Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise receive a troubling message from Starfleet. A coup has resulted in the installation of a new Romulan political leader, Shinzon (Tom Hardy), who claims to seek peace with the human-backed United Federation of Planets. Once in enemy territory, the captain and his crew make a startling discovery: Shinzon is human, a slave from the Romulan sister planet of Remus, and has a secret, shocking relationship to Picard himself.

This one was not received well, and it put the Next Generation crew on ice.

star trek streaming service

Produced and directed by J.J. Abrams, this film reimagines the original cast and reboots the Star Trek universe. James Kirk (Chris Pine) is a delinquent, thrill-seeking Iowa farm boy. Spock (Zachary Quinto) is half-Vulcan, raised in a logic-based society that rejects all emotion. Bitter rivals out the gate, fiery instinct clashes with calm reason. But they’ll need to work together if they’re to lead their crew through unimaginable danger, and boldly go where no one has gone before. The young cast re-energizes the series and Michael Giacchino’s propulsive score helps the movie soar. Keep your eyes peeled for a pre-Thor Chris Hemsworth in a brief appearance as Kirk’s dad.

star trek streaming service

Star Trek Into Darkness

The crew of the Enterprise is called back home only to find the fleet detonated and the world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

Star Trek Beyond

The USS Enterprise crew encounters a mysterious new enemy lurking in the furthest reaches of uncharted space. They’re about to have their loyalties and skills put to the ultimate test. Idris Elba flexes his muscles as the main villain.

If you’re still craving more Trek beyond the movies, you can also find the many TV series widely available on streaming platforms:

Here's Where You Can Stream Or Buy Every Season Of Star Trek: The Next Generation

Star Trek: The Next Generation

(Welcome to Where to Watch , which provides a clear and simple answer to the question, "Hey, where can I watch this thing?" In this edition: "Star Trek: the Next Generation")

"Star Trek: The Next Generation" debuted in 1987 as what would eventually make-good on the promise of Gene Roddenberry's 1966 original. After leaving the air after an inauspicious three seasons, the original "Star Trek" would find a second life in syndication, and a growing legion of fans would slowly form around the show, eventually gathering at conventions to trade trivia and merchandise. As these conventions continued throughout the 1970s, actors from the show would begin making appearances at these cons, and Roddenberry himself would begin going on speaking tours, conversing with the fans and codifying — to the fans and to himself — the show's themes of optimism, positive views on technology, and progressive politics. After Roddenberry was locked out of the "Star Trek" feature films in the 1980s, he wanted to come back to TV with a "proper" version of Trek, complete with a diverse cast, more conflict-free stories, and a more carefully thought-out philosophy and continuity.

Thus was born "Star Trek: The Next Generation," a TV series with two rocky seasons, four excellent ones, and one that's up for debate.

Star Trek is Still Everywhere

As has been previously mentioned in the hallowed pages of this venerable website, "Star Trek" is everywhere. The entire series run of "The Next Generation" is currently available to subscribers of Paramount+ (natch),  Netflix , and  Prime Video . Subscribers to DirecTV also have access to scattered episodes from seasons four, five, and six (arguably the best ones). You can also buy and download the series from Amazon , and AppleTV/iTunes (where it's $2.99 an episode, $29.99 per season), or the Google Play store and Vudu (where it's $1.99 per episode, $29.99 per season).

If you prefer physical copies, boy howdy, does "NextGen" have you covered. Starting in 1991, the show was issued by Paramount (in the United States), episode by episode on VHS . This was a dream for collectors, but a headache for those trying to save shelf space. That same year, Columbia House (remember them?) offered a mail-order subscription service which offered larger, cleaner packaging and two episode per cassette. As the years went on, and the series only increased in popularity, specialty box sets were issued, including a box set with all the Borg episodes , a box with four notable Data episodes , and a two-in-one box that featured only the first and last episodes of the series .

When it came to DVDs in the U.S., "The Next Generation" was initially released in 2002, with each full season boxed in a very keen, looks-great-on-a-shelf silver package. These DVDs were highly coveted and came with a sizeable price tag. In 2006, once all seven seasons had been released, they were packaged together in a large cardboard trough. In 2013, the same DVDs were released again, only this time with less interesting box art — each season sported a stylized portrait of one of the main characters — and slimmer, plastic cases. If none of those editions were appealing, a large green brick containing the entire series released in 2007 (in honor of the show's 20th anniversary), which wasn't nearly as gorgeous as the Borg Cube set released in England in 2003.

The Updated Blu-rays

But VHS and DVD are formats of the past, old man. Where's the HD-DVD or Blu-ray editions? After the success of the 2006 Blu-ray remasterings of the original series (wherein the show's special effects needed to be redone digitally as the original FX masters were, in many cases, no longer viable), CBS decided to do the same with "Next Generation" in 2012. There was a minor controversy with these Blu-rays and the studio chose to add motivation for fans to buy the series one more time: a new slate of special features and the like — but only if you bought certain versions at certain big box stores. This came after CBS had promised explicitly not to do that very thing. The new features were excellent, however, even if they were split up, causing all collectors to wail and rend their garments.

A man named Robert Meyer Burnett (director of the film "Free Enterprise") oversaw the special features, and explained that the studio spent $12 million to track down all its original assents, scan them digitally, and re-do many of the effects in CGI. It was a huge process, but the Blu-rays do look excellent while still retaining the 1990s look of the show.

The Blu-rays of "The Next Generation" are great, but because they were released at the same time the series started popping up on streaming, sales were less than impressive. Like with the DVDs and VHS editions, there were specialty Blu-ray box sets that bundled together commonly-themed episodes, like the Q episodes or particular two-parters. In 2016, an impressively stacked, but shoddily boxed complete-series Blu-ray set hit the market. It was the last time we saw the show released, and may be the last time on home video. Well, at least until another notable anniversary hits.

The Janet Jackson Super Bowl Scandal Led to More Star Trek

Follow me for a moment.

In 2004, Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake performed at the Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show, and, if you know your history ( or saw the recent documentary ), you are familiar with that event's introduction of the phrase "wardrobe malfunction" into the vernacular. The scandal surrounding this event led to a ban of all future halftime shows on MTV, owned by the entertainment giant Viacom, which also owned Paramount and "Star Trek." This worsened an already-bubbling corporate rivalry between the head of Viacom's CBS brand, Les Moonves, and the head of MTV, Tom Freston. The head of Viacom decided to keep them apart, and split Viacom into two smaller companies in 2005. It was pretty much a schism between CBS and Paramount.

This split meant, in short, that one company owned the TV rights to "Star Trek," and another owned the movie rights. It was during this time that the two companies tried to "out-Trek" each other, as it were, with the TV side of things pushing the multiple home video and streaming editions. Because it was one of CBS' most recognizable brands, they sold "Trek" everywhere, and most of the Trek shows are now widely available on most streaming platforms. CBS would also end up shamelessly milking the "Trek" brand with brand new shows like " Star Trek: Discovery " on CBS All Access (now Paramount+).

The Paramount side that owned the movies tried to reboot the series on the big screen. Because of obnoxious legal details, the new movies had to be a certain percentage distinct from the original series — hence the creation of a new timeline with a new design. We can blame a corporate split on both the creation of the Kelvin-verse, and the push toward "Discovery." The two brands re-merged in 2019, thank goodness. Although some might say the damage has been done.

In short: If there hadn't been a wardrobe scandal at the Super Bowl 17 years ago, "Star Trek" would be a lot cleaner today.

The fate of the galaxy rests in the hands of bitter rivals. One, James Kirk, is a delinquent, thrill-seeking Iowa farm boy. The other, Spock, a Vulcan, was raised in a logic-based society that rejects all emotion. As fiery instinct clashes with calm reason, their unlikely but powerful partnership is the only thing capable of leading their crew through unimaginable danger, boldly going where no one has gone before. The human adventure has begun again.

Every Star Trek Movie In Chronological Order

10 most important star trek time travelers, every star trek series finale ranked worst to best.

  • Star Trek movies are making a comeback, but release dates for upcoming theatrical or streaming releases are still unknown.
  • Star Trek: Section 31 is the first Star Trek movie for streaming on Paramount+, starring Michelle Yeoh as antiheroine Emperor Georgiou.
  • The next Star Trek movie in theaters will be an Untitled Star Trek Origin movie directed by Toby Haynes, exploring the origin of Starfleet.

Star Trek movies are finally coming back, but there are no release dates yet announced for Star Trek 's upcoming theatrical or streaming releases . Originating on network television with Star Trek: The Original Series , Star Trek became a successful movie franchise starting with 1979's Star Trek: The Motion Picture . There have been 13 Star Trek movies in total, and every decade since the 1970s has enjoyed a Star Trek movie release.

However, Star Trek movies stalled following the theatrical release of Star Trek Beyond in 2016. A year later, Star Trek returned to television after a 12-year absence with Star Trek: Discovery , and its success spawned a new golden era of Star Trek TV shows on Paramount+ with 6 existing and upcoming live-action and animated series. Meanwhile, Paramount Pictures' Star Trek movie franchise has been mired in development hell, with several attempts to develop Star Trek 4 with big name directors going nowhere. However, there are new signs of life for Star Trek movies, which will soon arrive in theaters and streaming on Paramount+.

With 13 entries in the Star Trek movie series from 1979-2006, there are a couple of ways to watch the films chronologically.

Star Trek: Section 31 Is The Next Star Trek Movie

Academy award winner michelle yeoh headlines star trek's first streaming movie.

The next Star Trek movie is Star Trek: Section 31 , which is also the first Star Trek movie made for streaming on Paramount+ . Directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi and written by Craig Sweeny, Section 31 stars Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh, who reprises her antiheroine, Emperor Philippa Georgiou, from Star Trek: Discovery. Section 31 also stars Sam Richardson, Omari Hardwick, Humberly Gonzalez, James Hiroyuki Liao, Robert Kanzinsky, and Kacey Rohl, who plays the younger version of Rachel Garrett from Star Trek: The Next Generation .

Emperor Georgiou is billed as confronting the past sins and origins of Section 31, and time travel puts her in the "lost era" of Star Trek 's 24th century before Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Star Trek: Section 31 was originally developed as a Paramount+ series, with Michelle Yeoh's Georgiou written out of Star Trek: Discovery season 3 to topline the new show. However, the COVID-19 pandemic stalled Section 31 moving forward, and Michelle Yeoh winning the Best Actress Oscar for Everything Everywhere All At Once changed her availability. Still, Yeoh remained dedicated to Star Trek and her commitment allowed Section 31 to move forward as a made-for-streaming movie. Star Trek: Section 31 completed filming in March 2024 in Toronto, and it is waiting for a release date from Paramount+, which could be late in 2024 or in 2025.

Untitled Star Trek Origin Is The Next Star Trek Movie In Theaters

Toby haynes is directing with j.j. abrams producing.

Paramount Pictures officially announced the next Star Trek movie made for theatrical release will be an Untitled Star Trek Origin movie directed by Toby Haynes and written by Seth Grahame-Smith. Haynes is renowned for directing Star Wars: Andor and he also directed the Star Trek parody episode "USS Callister" for Netflix's Black Mirror . The Untitled Star Trek Origin movie is reportedly set "decades before" the events of J.J. Abrams' Star Trek (2009) movie and depict the origin of Starfleet. Although, Star Trek fans are concerned whether Haynes' movie will attempt to reboot the established Star Trek canon.

J.J. Abrams will be a producer of Toby Haynes' Untitled Star Trek Origin movie, but X-Men producer Simon Kinberg is reportedly in talks to come aboard as the producer who not only oversees Haynes' Star Trek prequel , but the entire Star Trek theatrical movie franchise going forward. Kinberg's proposed role would be similar to how Alex Kurtzman and his Secret Hideout single oversees all Star Trek on Paramount+ streaming TV series and movies. The Untitled Star Trek Origin movie is scheduled to start production in the fall of 2024 for a possible 2025 or 2026 premiere in theaters.

Star Trek 4 Is Still In Development

Expected to be the final chapter of chris pine's uss enterprise crew.

A fourth Star Trek movie produced by J.J. Abrams starring Chris Pine as Captain James T. Kirk leading the crew of the USS Enterprise has been in development since 2018, but Star Trek 4 is reportedly still in the works. Steve Yockey ( The Flight Attendant ) was recently brought aboard to develop a new screenplay for Star Trek 4, although there is no further news on the long-delayed film. However, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, and Sofia Boutella have all publicly stated their desire to return for another Star Trek if the movie actually happens.

It would be a shame if the Starship Enterprise doesn't return to theaters to mark Star Trek 's 60th anniversary in 2024.

Star Trek 4 has had several failed attempts with notable filmmakers attached. Quentin Tarantino wanted to do an R-rated version of Star Trek 4 based on the Star Trek: The Original Series episode, "A Piece of the Action". S.J. Clarkson's story concept to reunite Chris Pine's Captain Kirk with his late father, Lt. George Kirk played by Chris Hensworth, didn't come to fruition due to creative differences. This was the same reason Matt Shakman gave for leaving Star Trek 4 to direct Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four . It would be a shame if the Starship Enterprise doesn't return to theaters to mark Star Trek 's 60th anniversary in 2024, but Star Trek 4 remains an unfulfilled wish.

Watch ‘Discovery’ and ‘Strange New Worlds’ EP Alex Kurtzman Explain Why ‘Star Trek Will Go on Forever’

To celebrate the end of “Discovery” and also a second season of “Strange New Worlds” considered among the best runs of episodes in “Trek” history, Kurtzman joined IndieWire alongside his VFX Supervisor on these series, Jason Zimmerman — someone who’s done as much as anyone to shape the look of “Star Trek” in the 21st Century and give the franchise a whole new cinematic gloss — for our Consider This Event at The Grove June 8. The event was presented by Paramount+ , and you can watch the video of our interview above.

Kurtzman practically beams about where “Star Trek” is seven years after “Discovery” launched.

“I’m so proud of ‘Discovery’ because I think that it’s been enormous,” Kurtzman said. “It’s been enormous for ‘Star Trek,’ for sci-fi, for streaming, and in the area of representation. I think that it took hugely bold swings in terms of storytelling, with a leap 900 years into the future , which was a huge risk that could have just both ended ‘Discovery,’ and it could have ended any future ‘Star Trek’ shows, but in fact, it paved the way for more.”

Alex Kurtzman and Jason Zimmerman at the IndieWire & Paramount + Consider This FYC Event at Studio 10 on June 8, 2024 in Los Angeles, California.

His lead VFX Supervisor on all these shows, Zimmerman, shares that appreciation. When this writer suggests he’s able to do things that weren’t possible on previous “Trek” shows, he immediately rallies to those earlier series’ defense: “‘Star Trek’ was always at the cutting edge of visual effects,” Zimmerman said. “Even back in the day, the things that they were doing at the time were the absolute newest technology.”

Citing a number of “Trek” historians they have always working on the latest production, Zimmerman is careful to understand where the franchise has been so that what’s happening now is consistent with what came before. “The first thing we do, even with the new script that doesn’t seem to have as much to do with the past, is that we always go back and look at everything, see what the ships look like, see how they behave,” he said. “There are certain behaviors you still have to stick to. A starship is a massive thing. It needs to move like a battleship. It doesn’t matter if we’re doing that model from miniatures back in the day or if we’re doing it digitally now. But we also have a lot of reference to choose from.”

The evolved ship designs for the far future of the 32nd Century also built off what came before: The 29th Century Federation starship designs glimpsed in “Star Trek: Voyager” and the 31st Century designs seen on “Star Trek: Enterprise.” As Zimmerman put it, “You’re always looking, ‘Well, what’s the last closest era [that’s been depicted]?’ ‘What did we see there?’ And then ‘How would we evolve from there?’” You want to feel that each show in some form is represented in some total of what Discovery looks like or what anything in the 32nd century looks like.”

Christian Blauvelt, Alex Kurtzman and Jason Zimmerman at the IndieWire & Paramount + Consider This FYC Event at Studio 10 on June 8, 2024 in Los Angeles, California.

Those kind of choices build off the past, but don’t linger on it overly other than to evolve it: Such as the way “Discovery” in the final season used the previously mysterious “Deep Space Nine” villains, the Breen, in a whole new way that revealed more about their culture. They were a part of the previous show, so, for the worldbuilding of “Trek” going forward, they played an integral role again: It wasn’t just a shout-out for the sake of a shout-out, something Kurtzman is increasingly keen to avoid. “[Using the Breen] wasn’t really just like, ‘Oh, fan service,’” he said. “I think typically fan service can be very annoying. If you do it wrong and you are tipping your hat to it, but you’re not actually giving it any depth, it actually feels, weirdly, like it achieves the opposite of what you are intending to do.”

Alex Kurtzman and Jason Zimmerman at the IndieWire & Paramount + Consider This FYC Event at Studio 10 on June 8, 2024 in Los Angeles, California.

He’s also had a sounding board in Roddenberry’s son, Eugene “Rod” Roddenberry, who provides some guidance as to the original intent of the franchise, and was in attendance in the audience with his own 10-year-old son at IndieWire’s Consider This Event June 8. “I value my relationship with Rod so much because I think that he gives us the freedom to explore and to claim a certain authority over ‘Star Trek’ because we all understand that ‘Star Trek’ belongs to his father and to the family. That’s who it really belongs to. So we’re all stewards of it in the meantime, and our goal is to take care of it and to treat it like a very precious egg, and then hand it on to the next person, and hopefully they’ll treat it like a very precious egg.”

A gem, a precious egg, a gift. Just some of the things Kurtzman in the span of a 20-minute conversation likened “Star Trek” to. As the franchise boldly approaches its 60th anniversary and beyond, it’s hard not to think it’s in fantastic shape — and in the best hands.

Watch the video of our conversation with Kurtzman and Zimmerman above.

The best new shows to stream on Netflix, Hulu, Max (HBO), and more

A man and a woman talk in court in Presumed Innocent.

After last week’s logjam of new seasons for The Boys and House of the Dragon , it was inevitable that the next week wouldn’t be quite as spectacular. The only noteworthy new show is Hulu’s Canadian comedy series  Shoresy . And since it would have been lost in the shuffle last week, we’re taking a look at Apple TV+’s legal drama Presumed Innocent .

Taken together with the other shows that have premiered this month, including The Acolyte and  Clipped , as well as a new half season of Bridgerton , it doesn’t get much better than this in the streaming-verse. To catch all of these series and more, check out the best new shows to stream below.

Netflix , Hulu , Amazon Prime Video , Max , Disney+ , Paramount+ , Peacock , and Apple TV+ all have one thing in common: They’re more expensive than they used to be! We can live with higher rates as long as new shows keep coming, but it’s always a good idea to consider signing up for the ad-supported tiers , which are worth it if you can sit through a few commercials. If it can save you some money on your streaming bill, it’s worth it.

When you’re done here, check out the best new movies to stream this week , as well as the best shows on Netflix , best shows on Hulu , best shows on Amazon Prime Video , and best shows on Disney+ .

Presumed Innocent (2024)

It’s been 34 years since Harrison Ford starred in the previous adaptation of Scott Turow’s legal thriller Presumed Innocent , so it was probably overdue for a remake. Road House ‘s Jake Gyllenhaal steps into Ford’s former role as Rusty Sabich, a prosecutor who gets romantically involved with one of his colleagues, Carolyn Polhemus (Renate Reinsve).

When Carolyn is found murdered, Rusty is considered a prime suspect and arrested. Even worse, the news about his affair with Carolyn threatens Rusty’s marriage and family. There’s more to Carolyn’s death than just a sordid affair. But who else had the motive to kill her and frame Rusty for the crime?

Trying (2020)

There must be a rule among streamers that each outlet needs a certain allotment of British TV series. Trying is one Apple TV+’s imports from the U.K., and it revolves around Jason Ross (Rafe Spall) and Nikki Newman (Esther Smith), a couple who desperately wanted to have a baby together. And when that didn’t work out, they decided to adopt.

During the third season, Jason and Nikki fought to adopt a pair of siblings, Princess (Scarlett Rayner) and Tyler (Cooper Turner). They won that battle, but there are more challenges ahead in the newly released fourth season that may fray the fragile bonds between the kids and their adoptive parents.

Shoresy (2022)

If Shoresy were any more Canadian than it already is, it would be Letterkenny , the hit comedy series that spawned this spinoff show. Jared Keeso stars as “Shoresy” Shore, a hockey player who has devoted his life to turning around the fortunes of his team, the Sudbury Bulldogs.

The third season finds the Bulldogs challenged as never before on the ice as they attempt to emerge as winners. But when Shoresy is forced off the ice, the team may need to find a way to win without him.

Clipped (2024)

If you know anything about the NBA, then you’ve probably heard that the Clippers are the “other” team in Los Angeles behind the Lakers. FX’s Clipped takes a dramatized look back at one of the most turbulent times in the franchise’s history. Coach Doc Rivers (Laurence Fishburne) has put together a team that can win, but Clippers owner Donald Sterling (Ed O’Neill) just can’t seem to stop interfering in his work.

Donald has his own problems, as his wife, Shelly Sterling (Jacki Weaver), is angry that Donald’s mistress, V. Stiviano (Cleopatra Coleman), is increasingly public about their relationship. When the Sterlings try to reclaim some of the lavish gifts that Donald has given to Stiviano, she retaliates by releasing recordings of him that could bring down his basketball operation.

Max (formerly HBO and HBO Max)

House of the dragon (2022).

War has come to Westeros in the second season of HBO and Max’s Game of Thrones  prequel series. House of the Dragon season 2 begins with Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) trying to reclaim her throne from her half-brother, King Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney). But how can Rhaenyra rule the seven kingdoms when she can’t even control her husband, Prince Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith)?

Although Aegon is quickly resembling a precursor to GOT’s Joffrey, the real power behind the throne is mother, Queen Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke). Once, Alicent and Rhaenyra were best friends. But that connection won’t save the people of the seven kingdoms from the Dance of the Dragons. When dragons fight in the skies, only death can follow.

  • Amazon Prime Video

The Boys (2019)

Prime Video’s The Boys is back for its fourth season, and Homelander (Antony Starr) currently has the edge in his longstanding war with Billy Butcher (Karl Urban). Not only has Homelander added Sister Sage (Susan Heyward) and Firecracker (Valorie Curry) to his corrupt team of “heroes,” he’s also corrupting his son, Ryan (Cameron Crovetti), whom Butcher had vowed to protect.

Butcher’s more immediate problem is that he’s dying from overexposure to Temp-V, and his own team doesn’t want him to lead them anymore. Former heroine Annie January (Erin Moriarty) has also joined Butcher’s team, and may be a better leader if she can leave her Starlight persona behind. But never count Billy Butcher out of a fight. He’s always got something up his sleeve.

Outer Range (2022)

Outer Range starts off a lot like Yellowstone . It features an A-list star, Josh Brolin, as a rancher named Royal Abbott, who is consumed with keeping a rival family from stealing his family’s ranch out from under them. Things slip into sci-fi territory when Royal discovers that there’s an enigmatic black void on his land. From there, the present and the future collide in ways that Royal doesn’t fully understand.

As season 2 arrives, Royal just wants to keep his family together now that he’s finally realized who Autumn (Imogen Poots) really is. But as the mystery of the void deepens, Royal may not be able to hold on to the ones that he loves.

Bridgerton (2020)

Are there wedding bells ahead for Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) in the second half of Bridgerton season 3? Quite possibly, but there’s also drama ahead as well.

Penelope was so taken by her courtship with Colin that she hasn’t been honest with him about the biggest secret in her life. Now, that secret has come back to haunt Penelope, and she may not be able to avoid being exposed to everyone.

Sweet Tooth (2021)

Evolve or die. One of the biggest problems facing the characters in Sweet Tooth ’s third and final season is that many of the human characters would rather die than let the new human-animal hybrid children inherit the Earth. This is something that Gus (Christian Convery) has struggled with since he realized that some people would react badly to his half-deer features.

Season 3 starts with Gus and his friends on a long journey to Canada to reunite with Birdie (Amy Seimetz), the woman Gus is convinced is his mother. Birdie may be working on a cure for “the Sick” that has devastated the human population, but Gus is the one who has to decide whether humanity is worth saving at all.

Eric (2024)

The title character of Eric is the creation of a boy named Edgar Anderson (Ivan Morris Howe), who only wanted to help his father, Vincent (Benedict Cumberbatch), come up with a new puppet for his kids TV show. Unfortunately, the volatile relationship between Vincent and his wife, Cassie Anderson (Gaby Hoffmann), leads to Edgar’s disappearance somewhere in New York City.

While going out of his mind with grief, Vincent is stunned when Eric seemingly comes to life as a 7-foot-tall puppet. And as strange as it may sound, Eric may be Vincent’s only hope of ever seeing his son again.

Hotel Cocaine (2024)

MGM+’s new crime drama Hotel Cocaine is set in the ’70s and features Danny Pino as Roman Compte, a Cuban immigrant living in Miami. Roman fought against Castro as a CIA operative in the failed Bay of Pigs invasion. Now, Roman just wants to put that life behind him and settle into his new job as the general manager of the Mutiny hotel.

Unfortunately for Roman, DEA Agent Zulio (Michael Chiklis) has other ideas for him. Zulio forces Roman to spy on his drug-dealing brother, Nestor Cabal (Yul Vazquez), whom Roman has barely spoken to in years. In order to betray his own brother, Roman will first have to get his hands dirty and regain Nestor’s trust.

The Acolyte (2024)

Over a century before the Star Wars prequels, someone is going around killing Jedi in The Acolyte . Suspicion immediately falls on Osha Aniseya (Amandla Stenberg), the former apprentice of Jedi Master Sol ( Squid Game season 2 ‘s Lee Jung-jae). In an instant, it’s as if the universe has turned on Osha as even her friends believe she’s a murderer.

The reality is more disturbing. A Sith is orchestrating the murders for his Acolyte to perform, and now there are only two names left on their hit list — including Sol himself.

Criminal Minds: Evolution (2005)

Unlike the current season of Doctor Who , Criminal Minds: Evolution fully embraces that it is the 17th season of a police procedural drama that goes back to 2005. Last season, David Rossi (Joe Mantegna), Jennifer “JJ” Jareau (AJ Cook), and the rest of the Behavioral Analysis Unit team uncovered a network of serial killers that was formed in the wake of the pandemic.

While the BAU identified and captured Elias Voit (Zach Gilford), the man behind the serial killer network, he still finds ways to be a thorn in their side in the new season. There’s also a new mystery on the horizon that may push the BAU team to their limits.

Mayor of Kingstown (2021)

The “mayor” is back in Mayor of Kingstown season 3, but if Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner) thought things were going to get easier, then he’s in for a rude awakening. Russian criminals are muscling their way into Kingstown, and they don’t care who they have to hurt or kill to claim power.

It might take some unlikely alliances to keep the Russians from taking the criminal underworld out from under them. And this is a battle where Mike has a lot to lose if he backs down.

Evil (2019)

Things are getting extremely personal for Dr. Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers) in the fourth and final season of Evil . For the last three seasons, Kristen has worked alongside Father David Acosta (Mike Colter) and Ben Shakir (Aasif Mandvi) to investigate supernatural occurrences on behalf of the Catholic Church despite the fact that Kristen and Ben are both skeptics. And Sister Andrea (Andrea Martin) has since joined the team as well.

Now, Kristen’s nemesis, Dr. Leland Townsend (Michael Emerson), has some very dark plans for her frozen eggs as part of a conspiracy with Kristen’s own mother, Sheryl (Christine Lahti). Their shared ambition may be crazy, but if there’s one thing that’s real in this show, it’s evil.

Last year it was revealed that Fanhome would be picking up the baton of making new die-cast Star Trek ship models, after Eaglemoss went out of business in 2022. This morning Fanhome revealed their first releases and more details on the collection coming out later this year.

New Star Trek Die-Cast Collection

Fanhome is launching their new official Star Trek Starships model collection in November, with a new die-cast model starship being released every month. The collection will cover all the modern Star Trek series including Picard , Strange New Worlds , Discovery , Lower Decks and Prodigy . They have confirmed that the first three ships will be…

U.S.S. Titan NCC-80201-A

Captain Shaw’s Constitution III-class ship from Star Trek: Picard .

All the ships will be crafted from a combination of die-cast metal and high-quality resin, and the typical model will be between 7” and 9” (180-225 mm) long. Fanhome are working with Paramount Global to ensure the models are as accurate as possible and they will all be based on the original visual effects models that were used to make the effects for the show.

Each model will come with a 16-page magazine that provides an in-universe profile of the ship and explores the design process with exclusive art and brand new interviews with the production team. The project is being supervised by Ben Robinson, who previously oversaw Star Trek ship models and products for Eaglemoss.

The ships are exclusively available from Fanhome.com individually and via a subscription program. Individually the ships are priced at $64.99 each, discounted to $54.99 as part of a subscription, with an extra discount for the first issue. Subscribers will also get a unique variant ship and other exclusive gifts.

There will also be regular, higher-priced XL-sized models for major ships that will be approximately 11” (280 mm) long.

It’s a shame that they aren’t making these in Eaglemoss’ original standard size.

True, but to be fair, those weren’t all to scale to each other. Not that these will either. Still a smaller scale, closer to the original Eaglemoss size would have been nice too, especially for those on a tighter budget or less space to display their ship collection. The bigger the ships the more space you need. Hopefully, Fanhome will only make ships that are more desirable versus trying to make almost every single ship ever seen on screen that a lot of people don’t care too much for. From the original Eaglemoss line, I only ever bought Starfleet ships.

Scale is important. It doesn’t make sense to display the Enterprise-E next to the Defiant when the models are of comparable size whereas in “reality” the E is 4 times larger…

As any kid who collected plastic animals knows, scale consistency will price you out pretty fast — or leave you with a little tiny fox or whatever so you can afford a blue whale. It does “make sense” to display them together b/c you know they’re models. You just have to let them be models. If you’re going to be doing realistic photography than you will have to digitally alter them to be in scale.

If I did buy these ship models (and I don’t), I would not consider them as models per se, but rather my own miniature Starfleet… So the scale would be an issue for me. For practical reasons though, you make a valid point and maybe it’s my view that doesn’t “make sense”.

Same, I have almost every Starfleet ship and shuttle from Eaglemoss, especially thanks to the recent blowout sale

Well they did go bankrupt.

At least they are starting with the ships that we didn’t get as oppose to another TOS USS Enterprise NCC-1701 and TNG USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D, which I am sure that they will make new versions of too, but I imagine that most collectors will want to get these new ships first.

Just a shame the new ships are ugly af compared to the classic designs of TOS/TNG/DS9 era Trek.

I agree, I really am not a big fan of most things Nu Trek, particularly the ships. That Farragut is so ugly, very strange nacelle struts. The Titan is an abomination frankly, which Junkball Media on YouTube called an “ugly duckling” of almost kitbashed parts, but it has grown on me the more I see of it. I do appreciate a general consistency among the fleet in terms of the nacelles themselves, though. Picard S3 gave us a lot of interesting variant classes that might be worth seeing together on a shelf…

Great point! While I’m not a huge fan of these newer designs, it’s good to see them getting proper treatment.

Hope Fanhome makes a USS Enterprise-A from the end of Star Trek: Beyond. I’m not a big fan of the new movies and new ship designs, but Beyond was actually a personal favorite of mine and I actually liked the new Enterprise-A design over the original Kelvin Enterprise designs.

The new A was an interesting design from the little we saw. I was bummed that Eaglemoss never did it.

The ‘A’ actually came off reasonably well in the few seconds of screen time allotted to it — but, man, before getting too excited check out Sean Hargreaves’ side profile artwork sometime. One word: ugh!

Yeah, it’s definitely bulky. Not my favorite, but it’s an interesting permutation on the classic Enterprise model.

I agree I think it’s very oddly proportioned, not a huge fan of the nacelle struts. I really liked the Kelvinprise personally, especially the first 2 movies and less so the refit from Beyond with smaller swept back nacelles.

Also, TREKMOVIE, did you see that BigBadToystore.com is selling pre-orders for new bendy FleXfigs Star Trek action figures of Captains Benjamin Sisko (seasons 6 & 7 of DS9 uniform), Jean-Luc Picard (TNG seasons 3-7 uniform), James T. Kirk (TOS), and Christopher Pike (SNW)? The figures are made by The Canadian Group and are for sale at $10.99 USD on the BigBadToystore website.

why start not even one ship that would get people interested in the line?

Are you kidding? The Titan is literally the one ship I have been waiting to get a model of.

Oh yeah sure, let’s start another model line with the same constitution and galaxy-class models that every single company makes.

I literally gasped aloud seeing the Titan. I don’t even collect these! I’m getting my first one, an Enterprise-D, from a giveaway — and even I’m like “I might need that Titan”. Like, dude, just b/c YOU feel a certain way doesn’t mean everyone else does. I wish fans would learn to just speak for themselves.

i mistyped the original comment and can’t fix. I meant to say, why start the line without at least one of the more well-known ships to get more casual, first timers interested. The Titan is cool but without a bigger name ship, I’d be concerned that it will fizzle.

Also – I would take it as an axiom that of course I’m just speaking for myself. Just like you are…. eyeroll

I see your point, but don’t rule out the popularity of the Titan-A and the Stargazer with fandom and ‘new’ fandom.

Well at least you can tell who the intended audience is for these. It makes sense to be that they’re sort of “taking the baton” so to speak from Eaglemoss who didn’t stick around long enough to make these newer ships. I’m just frustrated they have to come in the larger size and with the larger price tag. I got no room for these behemoths.

These are the wrong ships to be launching with. I’ll get the Titan if the quality is good enough.

I remember getting the Enterprise A XL from Eaglemoss and looking at it in disbelief. It was so badly made.

Yeah, I read an article describing all the mistakes on that ship. There was just no excuse for them at all, especially at that price.

The Diamond Select ship was far far better.

and now the A XL goes for 250 to 500 on ebay. Masterreplicas didnt find anymore before removing the ships but interestingly real merch had them in stock shortly for like 80 bucks, after everyone thought there arent any left.

also does the A XL look so bad from 12 ft away?

I don’t look to bad from 12 feet away, but you don’t want a close up. Trust me.

No, it’s fine. It’s just that there are some blatant details, especially on the saucer, that are all wrong and there’s no reason for them to be.

It’s the awful seams that I hate.

Hello Beautiful. Love that Titan.

They have a Dutch website as well, but nothing about the new Trek ships on there yet.

They only can be shipped to US, UK and Germany. To other countries shipment is not possible.

The Constitution III-class and the Farragut look pretty cool.

These are just not in the price range I am looking for. Why can’t we get a return of Star Trek MicroMachines or better yet something like the Jazzwares Star Wars Micro Galaxy Squadron ships?

The Fanhome website shows the Enterprise F as well. YES!!!

I’d buy the titan. I don’t collect post modern trek items, but I’d make an exception for Captain Shaw’s ship.

When wasn’t Trek postmodern, I wonder? The TNG era was a textbook exercise in postmodern art. In my head I call that the “reverent Trek” era – the time when the franchise took itself seriously and honored its roots. Everything post Kelvin to me is the “irreverent Trek” era – let’s just blow sh*t up and do our own thing without any respect for what came before.

Generally speaking I’m a huge starship geek, and thanks to the recent Master Replicas sale of Eaglemoss overstock I have a model of just about every Starfleet ship. I’m not the biggest fan of the ships we’ve seen on screen since Discovery premiered – there were a few from Disco’s 23rd century that grabbed me, but we didn’t get a good look at most of them anyway thanks to the terrible VFX shots. Picard’s 24th century ships were a lot better looking imo, and I might pick up a Titan even though I consider it a shameful nostalgia bait-y design that makes zero sense in universe.

My only concern is that, like with the Disco and Picard Eaglemoss ships which were so unpopular (cuz the series were so unpopular), they’re making these things too large. Who at this point has room for more 8 inch models on their shelves? I loved how Eaglemoss made XL versions of classic “hero” starships, but never made us fork over 60 bucks for, say, an 8 inch Freedom class. But that’s exactly what they did with the Nu Trek designs, and that’s why I didn’t buy them, and it’s why I’m very skeptical of this new line making such third rate designs like the Farragut in the same size class as the Titan. These ships just aren’t that good or important to justify it, and I doubt they’ll ever sell in quantity.

I would love a collection of enterprises all in the same scale. I’m sure many others would too, but I also understand how it might not work so well in the bigger marketplace.

Perhaps they could consider doing a Kickstarter like circumstance, where we pre-pay, and they base the manufacturing and volume based on that. Kind of like Tomy didwith their big Enterprise. I wonder if that would be viable?

Great news! Especially Ben Robinson’s involvement…

But dang it, they’re going to make us wait to get the Titan with 1701-G labels aren’t they…
