Can UAE Passport Holders Apply for a Saudi Online Visa?

The majority of foreign citizens require an approved Saudi visa to enter the country and enjoy a short stay. The only exceptions are citizens of 4 countries that are part of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf : Bahrain , Kuwait , Oman, and the United Arab Emirates . Saudi visa validity for UAE residents

Depending on the visa, each of them has a specific validity, which we will show you below:

  • The visit visa granted from Dubai and other single-entry emirates is valid for 3 months for 30 days of stay at a time.
  • Now, if the visa is granted in Dubai and other multiple-entry emirates, it will be valid for 1 year and with a stay time of 90 days per visit. This can be a Saudi multiple-entry visa for UAE residents.

Therefore, the specific place in the UAE for applying for the corresponding visa is important. The validity of the visa will be just 3 months for a period of stay of only 30 days if the visa is granted from Dubai and other single-entry emirates

Now, the situation changes dramatically if the visa is granted from Dubai and other multiple-entry Emirates since its validity period will be one year and the visitor’s stay will be up to 90 days.

Eighty-eight per cent of visa violators who applied to amend their status during the first week of the amnesty initiative have chosen to remain in the country, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) said.

Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the Authority, emphasised the initiative's role in providing an opportunity for violators to change their circumstances without leaving the UAE. Only 12 per cent of applicants have opted to exit the country, demonstrating a strong desire to stay and work within the UAE.

Dubai received close to 20,000 applications in the first week of the amnesty. The top official stressed that the most prominent advantage of the scheme is that it allows violators to leave the country without any bans, fees or fines .

After illegal expats avail the amnesty , they can legally live and work in the country, and no administrative restrictions will be imposed, which confirms the UAE's commitment to respecting human rights.

The authority also highlighted that violators can apply for six main services during the grace period:

  • Issuing an exit permit
  • Renewing residency
  • Issuing residency for a foreigner born in the country
  • Issuing a new visa for work or residency
  • Amending the status of a valid visa
  • Issuing residence permits for violators of work and residency visas.

Violators can apply for the amnesty through Amer centres, GDRFA Al Awir centre, ICP centres, ICP online channels, and approved typing centres.

Saudi Arabia introduces fee-free export customs services starting October 6, 2024

New customs fee structure reduces import charges, sets flat fee for online store shipments

Stock - Saudi economy / Riyadh skyline

Dubai: The Saudi Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has announced that it will waive customs service fees for all exports and reduce fees for imports starting October 6, 2024.

The new fee structure for imports will involve a charge of 0.15 per cent of the value of incoming goods, with a minimum fee of SR15 and a maximum of SR500.

This decision was made by ZATCA’s Board of Directors as part of its updated Fee Rules on Customs Services. The fee for processing customs declarations on individual shipments from online stores valued at less than SR1,000 will be capped at SR15.

The waived export fees cover services such as customs declarations, X-ray inspections, and sample analysis. ZATCA noted that this measure aims to boost export competitiveness, particularly for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), while the new import fee structure will help reduce costs and enhance trade efficiency.

These updates are part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing effort to streamline customs services and align with Vision 2030, positioning the kingdom as a global logistics hub.
