2024 will mark the 15th year of the highly successful, hit-filled summer package, THE “HAPPY TOGETHER” TOUR. The touring sensation that has crisscrossed the nation delighting audiences for over a decade returns this summer with a show full of chart-topping hits from the ‘60s and ‘70s – an undeniable 61 Billboard Top 40 smashes. The Tour is once again joined by THE TURTLES, who also act as musical hosts for the evening. Along with THE TURTLES will be THE BUCKINGHAMS, THE ASSOCIATION, BADFINGER, THE VOGUES and the COWSILLS.. THE TURTLES are best known for their harmony-heavy California pop sound. With hits including “Elenore,” “She’d Rather Be With Me,” “It Ain’t Me Babe,” “You Showed Me” and the title of the tour, “Happy Together,” the band ruled the airwaves in the late ‘60s. Ron Dante joins the line-up to delight with his own mega-hits, “Sugar Sugar” and “Tracy.” THE BUCKINGHAMS were formed in 1966, and went on to become one of the top selling acts of late 1960’s, including their #1 hit “Kind of a Drag,” and other hits “Don’t You Care,” ”Mercy, Mercy, Mercy” and "Hey Baby, They're Playing Our Song." With 3 chart hits at one time on 2 labels in 1967, Billboard Magazine named them "The Most Listened to Band in America." THE ASSOCIATION , who enjoyed massive radio success in the ‘60s with #1 hits such as “Cherish,” “Windy” and “Never My Love” were a staple on the radio airways. THE VOGUES are known for their harmony-driven soaring pop sound. They had numerous Top 10 hits with singles such as “Five O’clock World”, “You’re The One,” “My Special Angel” and “Turn Around Look At Me,” among others. From their legendary lineup, Joey Molland continues the unforgettable legacy of BADFINGER . One of the original signings to the Beatles’ Apple Records label, they had their first hit single with a Paul McCartney penned song, "Come and Get It,” which went to #7 in the U.S. charts. BADFINGER followed this with their own compositions "No Matter What,” “Day After Day" (produced by George Harrison) and "Baby Blue,” which went to #8, #4 and #14 respectively. THE COWSILLS , the harmonious singing family (two brothers and a sister) that inspired the smash ‘60s hit television show, The Partridge Family are sure to delight with their best-known songs,“Hair,” “Indian Lake,” “The Rain The Park & Other Things (I Love The Flower Girl)” and more. There are approximately 3,500 parking spaces on a lighted surface lot adjacent to the Family Arena. Handicapped parking is available in the southwest corner of the arena lot. Parking fees can vary based on event needs and are specified on each event listing on our site. Please see the event page for show specific information.

VIP Parking - $30

VIP parking is located on the south side of the arena across from the main entrance. VIP parking is an additional fee. Guests wishing to be dropped off or picked up before or after an event should use the South parking entrance. A separate two-lane drive with a turn-around lane allows guests to be easily picked up or dropped off. This area also provides temporary parking for purchases at the ticket office.

The Happy Together Tour Delivers Musical Memories Once Again

Happy Together Tour – The Cowsills, Joey Molland’s Badfinger, The Vogues, The Association, Jay & the Americans, and The Turtles – Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater, Florida – June 2, 2024

The Happy Together Tour began in the mid-eighties, and since that time, the Baby Boomer generation has embraced the tour with open arms.  Attending this concert continues to be a Rock at Night tradition too.  Each tour has included The Turtles and various ‘60s groups, all backed by a Happy Together Band .  Vendors offer merchandise such as ‘60s era clothing, posters, and jewelry which adds to the ambiance of the event.

Upon entering Ruth Eckerd Hall, I noted the lobby was filled with silver haired fans dressed ‘60s garb.  Women browsed the vendors’ wares embracing flower power in youthful Mary Quant type dresses or more casual tie-dyed hippie styles.  Fringed boots or bags, round rose-tinted glasses, and bandanas abounded.  Some senior men from the love generation were clad in Florida casual ware, but bell bottom jeans and love beads were also spotted.  As a couple passed by me, the smell of patchouli  filled the air.

Once settled in my seat, I saw tots, teens, and entire families settling in for the show.  But most there were smiling seniors anticipating that the music would carry them back to a different time in their lives.

The Cowsills kicked off the concert at 7 o’clock with a welcoming round of applause.  Susan, Bob, and Paul Cowsill began with their iconic song “The Rain, the Park, & Other Things.”  The trio’s strong voices rang true, and Paul was especially energized and bouncing around the stage throughout the performance.  I heard a nearby patron comment, “I wish I had his energy!”  Other songs included “Indian Lake,” “Love American Style,” and “We Can Fly.”  During the beginning of their last song “Hair/Let the Sunshine In,” the audience cheered and clapped and at the ending they were on their feet giving The Cowsills their much deserved adoration.

When Liverpudlian Joey Molland of Badfinger walked on stage, the audience laughed when he joked, “we’ve got a couple hours, don’t we?”  His Welsh accent was prominent and made each song even more unique.  The first tune was “Baby Blue,” and during the song “Come and Get It,” listeners sang along.  His guitar work was excellent, especially during George Harrison’s song “Day After Day.” The finale of “No Matter What” had the audience whistling and whooping while the video screen behind the bands displayed Badfinger in their younger years.

The Vogues stem from western Pennsylvania, so seeing them was special since I grew up in that area and recall hearing their music on the local radio station.  Their first song, “Five O’Clock World,” had the audience immediately clapping in unison.  And so Troy Elich, Royce Taylor, and Elliott McCoy continued to please with on point harmony and strong voices singing “My Special Angel,” “Turn Around, and Look at Me.”  During the final song, “You’re the One,” the couple sitting beside me were swaying together hand in hand.

The members of the Association, Jules Alexander, Dell Ramos, and Paul Holland began with the song “Windy,” followed by “Never My Love,” a definite heart warmer and delight for patrons.  But it was the song “Cherish” that brought couples even closer, and the young child in the seat in front of me snuggled her head on the shoulder of her caretaker.  The last song of the set was “Along Comes Mary,” which was announced as formerly controversial and radio stations wouldn’t air the song during the ‘60s.

Jay and the Americans began with songs “Only in America,” followed by “She Cried,” and the “End of Time.”  Their song “Come a Little Bit Closer”  had the audience standing and singing.  The guitar work on last song, “This Magic Moment” was exceptional and Jay Reincke, Darren Dowler, and Marty Sanders delivered some sweet memories for me.

The Turtles, with Mark Volman from the original group and Ron Dante formerly of The Archies, began with “ She’d Rather Be With Me .”  Mark enthusiastically worked the cow bell which encouraged the audience to sing along. The next tune was “You Baby,” and during “It Ain’t Me Babe,” Mark’s imitation of Bob Dylan’s voice delivered a bit of comedy to the crowd.  A cartoon Archies band could be seen on the large video screen behind the musicians while Dante sang “ Sugar, Sugar ,” and the audience joined in.  During “Eleanor” it seemed that the entire audience was singing and dancing along and with the final song, “ Happy Together ” the rivalries peaked. All featured groups gathered on stage for the finale and sang specific songs to the cheers from the audience.  Peace signs flashed, the audience sang and danced, and it seemed like the ’67 Summer of Love all over again.

If you have the chance to attend a Happy Together Tour , I highly recommend it.  The music is filled with pure joy and is a fun way to travel back in time.  This tour just might make your day a happy one.

NORTHAMPTON -- For the past nine years, the Happy Together Tour has magically recaptured the sounds and spirit of the 1960s by bringing top talent of that era together on one stage.

The current 42-city trek, which stopped at the Calvin Theatre in Northampton on Sunday night, was no exception.

The lineup was straight off a 50-year-old juke box: The Turtles, Gary Puckett, The Cowsills, Mark Lindsay of Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Association, and Chuck Negron of Three Dog Night.

With six acts on the bill, the bands were understandably limited to about 20-minute sets, which meant they concentrated on their greatest hits.

The engaging Cowsills got things started with a groovy set comprised of "The Rain, the Park and Other Things," "We Can Fly," "Indian Lake," the theme from television's "Love American Style" and "Hair."

Lindsay, who was next up, summed up the night best by noting it was as close as fans could get to time travel. He offered a polished six-song set  -- "Just Like Me," "Hungry," "Arizona," "Good Things," the moving "Indian Reservation" and the lively "Kicks."

The Association, whose vocal harmonies belied the passage of time, wrapped up the first half of the night nicely with "Windy," "Never My Love," "Cherish" and "Along Came Mary."

After a brief intermission, Puckett, who was among the featured acts last fall at The Big E, took the stage and was clearly an audience favorite.

He wowed the crowd with five of his biggest hits with the Union Gap -- "Lady Willpower," "Over You," "The Girl is a Woman Now," "Woman, Woman" and "Young Girl."

Two-thirds of the way through an already successful night, the Happy Together Tour raised the roof with a powerhouse five-song set from Negron.

He thrilled Three Dog Night fans with "Celebrate," "Mama Told Me Not to Come," "Eli's Coming," "One" and the infectious "Joy to the World."

Following Negron is no easy task, and it was left to headliners The Turtles to bring the evening to a close.

The Turtles had a lineup change before the start of this tour. Medical issues have kept Howard Kaylan off the road this summer, so founding member Mark Volman was joined by The Archies vocalist Ron Dante.

Volman and Dante treated fans to six Turtles hits -- "She's Rather Be With Me," "You Baby," "It Ain't Me Babe," "You Showed Me," "Elenore" and "Happy Together." Thrown in for good measure were The Archies' No. 1 hit "Sugar, Sugar" and the Fank Zappa instrumental "Peaches en Regalia."

The show was capped by a well-executed all-star medley of "The Rain, the Park and Other Things" from The Cowsills; Lindsay singing "Kicks;" Puckett crooning "Young Girl;" The Association playing "Windy;' Negron wishing "Joy to the World' and The Turtles closing things off with "Happy Together."

For those who missed the show, the Happy Together Tour continues throughout the summer with performances at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in New Hampshire on June 24 and the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis on June 27.

It promises to deliver massive ‘60s and ‘70s hits from the chart-topping band, The Turtles! On Saturday, 29th July 2023, the tour makes its way to the Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, Connecticut! The show will feature The Turtles’ original members Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman with their special guests Little Anthony, Gary Puckett and The Union Gap and The Vogues! The Turtles are a folk-rock and pop band that emerged in the mid-'60s. The original line-up comprising Kaylan, Volman, Al Nichol, Jim Tucker, Chuck Portz, and Don Murray took over the ‘60s and ‘70s with sensational top 40 hits like “It Ain’t Me Babe,” “You Baby.” “You Showed Me,” and many more. The band released their debut album, It Ain’t Me Babe, in 1965. The album entered the Billboard 200 and peaked at number 35 on Cashbox’s chart. The album spawned several hits, including the title track, “Let Me Be,” and “It Was a Very Good Year. These chart-performing songs landmarked the band’s signature sound.

In 1967, The Turtles released their best-selling album, Happy Together. The album spawned the mega-hit “Happy Together,” which topped both the Billboard Hot 100 and Cashbox charts. The album later spawned a few more hits, “She’d Rather Be With Me,” “The Walking Song,” and “Guide for the Married.”

During the ‘70s, the Turtles dropped three compilations albums, More Golden Hits, Happy Together Again, and The Turles: 1968. The band took a number of hiatuses.
