Didn't make it dir to delays - no support from United staff

Too many canceled flights and kept my wife and I separated on alternate flights. We did not fly out of Denver. We paid a lot of money for the seats we wanted and now that money is gone and we did not sit together. That being said, the many agents were very friendly and did everything possible to help us.

It was soooo hot I was sweating even at altitude. I know you want people to sleep, but keeping it that hot is stupid!

Two hour flight delay, it was awful and loss of sleep.

Nothing they cancelled my connection and couldn't get me on a flight for 3 more days

Fantastic. Smooth boarding with an infant. Never experienced it with any other carriers.

My seat was broken. WiFi didn’t work. Gate crew at HOU were rude and condescending. Treated all the passengers badly. Bad experience, United.

First flight of the day… MINIMUM FUEL! 15 minute landing delay at HOU due to fog turned into a 2+ hour delay! Rather than circle, they had to divert to another city to refuel! Sat on tarmac at Austin to refuel. We ALL missed our connections! The crew, including pilots, were clueless. Crew was really a mess. At HOU, Untied employees were exceedingly rude to all. It was pitiful.

No lounge access with “United First” ticket. False alarm about late flight, jeopardizing connection. Wrong meal. Loose power socket would not hold plug, could not charge device. In-flight access to text messaging did not work. Toilet seat on plane would not stay up.

Crew were fine, drinks and snacks were as well but we were delayed for around 2 hrs which made our entry into Mexico delayed as well with the influx of arrivals at the same time. Sort of wasted our first day of vacation. We left Pittsburgh at 630am and did not arrive in Mexico until late dinner time.

First time flying with them and will definitely fly again in the future. Crew was so nice and friendly, fought was seamless. They are simple planes, no entertainment, but it’s fine for a short flight or if you have personal devices Rates are competitive, and they did so well with keeping the flight on time after a tropical storm, where other airlines had delays and cancellations.

They boarded passengers that sat in the back of the plane first, making boarding very efficient.

I didn't even take this flight. My plans changed and I couldn't get ahold of customer service and the website kept breaking down during the attempt to change the flight. I wound up taking another airline entirely and eating the cost.

The worst flying experience ever 3 delays. No accommodations. Had to deboard the plane after being delayed.

Posted a 20minute delay but didn’t delay at all. Caused boarding issues and confusion. Also, didn’t release baggage. Took over an hour and 20 minutes to get luggage.

Flight was good, boarding was a breeze, flight attendants were friendly and professional. There was a medical issue with another passenger and the crew handled it in a calm and professional way.

The net issue I had was with the gate agent. We had added a carryon to our boarding pass when we checked bags. When I got to the boarding gate the agent was rude asking why I had a backpack - I said I added it - even had an orange tag on it. She ripped my tag off and swung her monitor around to show me how she was right- saying it isn’t wasn’t listed - only a checked bag. I explained again that I wasn’t sure what the issue was but I wouldn’t have an orange tag if I hadn’t added it. Then she finally checked my husband’s boarding pass and found that the agent at checkin had added my carryon to his boarding pass instead of mine. She sent me on my way without my orange tag. Was a bit embarrassing for me the tone she used with me assuming I was trying to get away with something.

Gate agent asked if I could switch seats so a family could sit together. Agent moved me to a seat in the front of the plane, no charge. It was easy. The agent did a great job.

Great seat space. However food and drink prices outrageous. Jabbing to pay for a carry on bag or stuck paying at the gate too much.

Every Allegiant Air flight I've ever taken has been delayed. This flight was delayed a full 2 hours. It was excuse after excuse after excuse. It was a flight from southern Florida. They made us board the plane on time, but made us wait for 2 hours on the tarmac. Because the engines were kept shut off, so was the air conditioning. One can only imagine how hot the air was in the cabin over those 2 hours on the tarmac, while in the hot Florida sun. Just terrible.

Gate agents for boarding not trained. I am disabled have eyesight problems and was told “do it on line.”. Wheelchair unavailable in Dallas even though it was in my record

The counter/baggage counter was busy and so many people missed flights. We got stuck sitting on the plane over 2 hours at the gate while they were doing an inspection is wrong. Many of us missed our connecting flights because of it.

First time flying internationally with AA and probably my last. Not military friendly at all. Didn't allow free checked bag for military family members (dependents) on orders like other airlines. We were charged $100 for baggage weight overage (5 lbs!)even though we had military orders allowing us extra.. Didn’t allow military members to board early. Inefficient and long wait time to board. Seats are smaller and more uncomfortable than other airlines.. no drink service for over 7 hrs of flight! After initial meal was served, the crew never offered a snack or drinks until the breakfast's was served 1 1/2 hrs before landing. Overall expensive and poor experience for the entire flight.

Boarding process was good. I was assigned the most rear (non-reclining) seat in both directions, which wasn't great.

Flight was excellent. The food and service were great and the FA was very cordial and gracious.

The aircraft was on-time and plane and lavatory was clean.

Very aggressive and unhelpful ground crew. Wanted to check my hand luggage for 3 flights. I had lots of delicate items and computer equipment. So the silly lady wanted to rebook 3 international flights because of a carry on. What nonsense. The baggage handler suggested I put it under my seat - so I did. And this was during the rebooking chaos of the Microsoft crash. She was the most arrogant annoying and aggressive ground staff member I’ve met in 20yrs. (AA flight out of Houston).

It was freezing in there. When I asked about it, the response is “we would have to tell them” and then she just walked away and continued to serve beverages. Everyone was cold and they didn’t care at all.

It was great! It’s been awhile since I’ve flown American but this most recent experience reminded me how much I enjoy flying American. Organized. Informative. Efficient. Friendly. Can’t ask for much more, except my luggage got dinged up a bit. But that could have been the airport.

It was the coldest flight I have ever been on

Delayed 4 hours, the plane hot as hell. 2 passengers got sick. One of them was my wife. Airflow was very bad.

Paid 16 dollars for "streaming" grade WiFi. It cut out 10 minutes after paying for it and wasn't even fast enough to stream 480p video when it was working.

The plane smeltof burning plastic. The seat was the most uncomfortable seat i have ever been on, packed so tight together my bent knees touched the seat in front. No clearance under the seat for bag. Charge for carry on. By the time i paid for carry on 50$ and seat. This was not a cheap ticket. No food (red eye) No charging station (standard on most planes) Crying baby. I will never fly spirit again. And i fly several times a year.

The flight has been cancelled we have been waiting at the gate for almost 2 hours and they didn't gave me an update for rebooking

Canceled my first flight for no discernible reason and couldn't rebook me on to a new flight until the next day. They did not compensate me for the delay in any way.

At LAS airport, bag drop process was hard, you need to pay for a faster drop. There was a long line for a free drop and you need to do it by yourself. No one helped you. Bad experience at LAS airport.

Spirit airlines was awful like I mentioned before. There was maybe 10 to 12 inches at the most between my face and the seat in front of me. The seats are all set on an angles so my husband had no space whatsoever for his legs. The tree tables were such a joke. I was actually surprised they asked us to even raise them up for takeoff and landing because they were Easily half the size of a normal tree table. I could not believe they charged for every single thing, like coffee water or soda or any type of snack. Also the fact that they charge more for carry-ons than a checked baggage. It was completely ridiculous. I did it to save money and in the end I paid more. We love Southwest and we will travel with them because Southwest you get A great deal and nothing else taken away to make up for it. We were so happy I returned flight was on Southwest. Even my 10 year old daughter said she would never go on spirit airlines again. She is very low maintenance and such an easy kid. Just awful

Flight was delayed. Wish it would've been on time. Seat was a bit hard. Other than that, it was great!

On a cross-country flight, we were not even permitted a complimentary cup of water. I understand the limitations that come with a budget airline ticket but to me, on a flight upwards of 5 hours, that's ridiculous. I will no longer be flying Spirit for cross-country flights.

Nothing to like about Spirit Airlines when you get to your layover up to for hours late.

We did not get to go on this flight because it got canceled 4 hours prior to scheduled time. We received an email that it got canceled and then 10 minutes later we received another email that it got delayed. It was very confusing and the only options they gave us for return flight home were 12 to 22 hours of travel time. That was not an option for us since we were traveling with kids and school started on Monday. We ended up opting for a refund and booking a flight back with Alaska. The flight ended up costing us $1500 and we had to book a hotel for the night. We will never book with frontier again.

I didn't like anything about the flight It was my first time and definitely my last time boarding a frontier flight. Their counter agents need training and they need to learn to communicate regularly and respectfully

I fly Frontier often and generally don't have any issues. For some reason, the Denver to Houston's George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) flight always needs to wait on the tarmac in Houston because a gate is not available after landing. I've been stuck for as little as 15 minutes and as much as a little over an hour. I know only fly the Frontier Denver to IAH route when there is not an available flight to Houston Hobby (HOU).

I’ve never flown frontier without a flight getting canceled. I understand that things go wrong with planes, but all other airlines handle cancellations so well. Frontier becomes a dumpster fire if a problem appears for them.

Terrible Y lost my connection to Mexico, nobody of your company help me And y pay a lot of money for my baggage Until now I continue in the Houston airport I vneed you return my money

Four and a half hour delay in total. What frustrates me most is the poor communication and disorganization.

9 hours of delay!! Was not able to check my luggage that I paid for!!!

9hrs delay and didn’t provided anything until after flight landed $75 voucher for fiuture travel no meals or anything.

Well I mean u get what u pay for so 🤷‍♂️

Flight was cancelled and I had to spend the night in the airport lugging my suitcase around

Best time to go on a road trip from San Antonio to Las Vegas

A road trip from San Antonio to Las Vegas can be done during any month of the year, as the roads and attractions are open all year round on both of the routes.

However, it is a good idea to keep in mind that Las Vegas tends to get really busy and hot in summer, with temperatures reaching around 95 degrees Fahrenheit. It is not surprising that summer is not the peak of the tourism season in Sin City.

If you want to avoid the crowds, and Las Vegas is notoriously always busy, winter is a great time to visit the city, make sure to pack warm. The temperature sees lows of around 35 degrees Fahrenheit, especially at night.

As the winter is mild on these routes, you're unlikely to come across road closures on the main highways but check ahead where the route crosses the mountains around Flagstaff, as this area does experience snowfall in the winter.

If you are visiting during winter, you can check out the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, a big event in December. Remember that prices might be higher during these periods, and accommodation is likely to be at a premium.

March and April mark the peak season in Vegas, and while the weather around these months is pleasant, with temperatures around 80 degrees Fahrenheit, fall is a better time to visit if you wish to avoid crowded attractions.

Megabus departs San Antonio and Texas after bankruptcy filing

Megabus, bus

Farewell, Megabus. We will miss you.

A valuable transportation option has shut down in San Antonio: Megabus, the cheap and efficient bus company that offered rides for as low as $1, has ended service across Texas, including all routes operating between Austin, Dallas, Grand Prairie, Houston, and San Antonio.

According to a notice on the company's website , it shut down the Texas routes on August 16 as part of a set of new nationwide route changes that also included offloading other routes to competing operators.

Known for its eye-catching double-decker royal blue buses, Megabus was first launched in the U.K. in 2003, then came to the U.S. in 2006. It generated considerable excitement when it entered the Texas market in 2012 , by offering free Wi-Fi, restrooms, and fares for as low as $1.

The changes come after Coach USA, Megabus' owner, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, winning court approval to sell its Megabus service in July. The company blamed its bankruptcy on a decline in ridership during the pandemic.

Shutdowns :

  • Routes operating between Atlanta, Charlotte, Durham, Richmond, and Washington, D.C. will be discontinued as of August 16, 2024. Customers with tickets booked on these services have been notified and refunds have been processed.
  • Routes operating between Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston will be discontinued as of August 16, 2024. Customers with tickets booked on these services have been notified and refunds have been processed.

New operators :

  • Routes operating between New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. will be operated by Peter Pan Bus Lines
  • Routes operating between New York, State College, Harrisburg, King of Prussia, and Pittsburgh will be operated by Fullington Trailways

All other routes in the United States and Canada will operate as normal.

Megabus still operates in more than 500 different cities and university campuses across the U.S., including several popular routes between New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.

School Nights

Luxury hotel preserving 19th century schoolhouses debuts in san antonio.

It's a hot month for San Antonio hotels, and now one of the most anticipated openings is upon the Alamo City. The Kimpton Santo, the first Kimpton in the city so far and the largest in all of Texas, is debuting with some dining discounts on August 29. Located at 431 S. Alamo St., it overlooks Yanaguana Garden at Hemisfair and brings a handful of luxe, new restaurants and bars to the already bustling area.

Kimpton Hotels, a luxury boutique brand under InterContinental Hotels Group, is joining the fray alongside the InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk, which opened its doors about a mile away on August 1. San Antonians also got news this month about Morgan's Hotel, a new venture by Morgan's Wonderland, a theme park built around accessibility. The Santo broke ground in 2022.

The Kimpton Santo contains 347 guest rooms, which images show off in earthy, but bold colors and a modern sensibility. Some of the hotel's design as a whole comes from the property's scholastic history, with some 19th century schoolhouse buildings preserved and used to house eight guest suites today.

The cultural sensibility follows more threads than that, though, including "vintage craftsmanship fused with modernist touches and Spanish-inspired décor," according to a release. It also commits to some nods to the namesake of both the hotel and the city, Saint Anthony, who is the patron saint of lost things.

The school theme reaches into the food and beverage landscape, which includes:

  • Dean’s Steak & Seafood, which is also in one of the schoolhouses and is the main restaurant for the property.
  • The Bar at Dean’s, a bar where guests can order the entire steakhouse menu, plus rare Bourbons and vintage wine.
  • The Study at Dean’s, which serves high-end cocktails and small plates in a reservation-only lounge and shaded patio.
  • Tenfold Rooftop, a tequila and mezcal bar with curated food pairings.

Discounts to celebrate the opening include 50 percent off the entire food bill at the steakhouse from August 29 to September 30, plus one $1 "bubbly" per group of two diners. Guests at the weekend brunch can receive a buy one, get one entree, and kids 10 years old and under will eat free for breakfast and brunch. Tenfold Rooftop guests will receive a postcard with their final bill offering 50 percent off for their next visit, which also expires on September 30.

Finally, an Epicurean VIP Package pairs an overnight stay with bespoke cocktails at the Study at Dean’s, plus dinner and sunset nightcap.

“We’ve had the pleasure of showcasing Kimpton Santo to influencers, travel experts and local leaders through behind-the-scenes tours for over a month; it’s truly inspiring to bring this amazing property to the people of San Antonio,” said Kimpton Santo general manager Lynn Snyder in a press release. “Through our grand opening month offers and specials, we want everyone in San Antonio to experience the exceptional service and cuisine we’ve all been waiting for.”
