Kensington Tours uses aggressive sales tactics and unclear pricing, leaving customers feeling cheated. My recent experience with them was disappointing. Despite paying a hefty $85,985.00 for a 6-night trip without international flights, the quality of the tours, flights, and accommodations did not justify the exorbitant cost. Upon investigation, I discovered that the actual retail cost of the trip should have been around $30,140.47, indicating a shocking overcharge of $54,859.43. The tours and services provided by Kensington Tours were subpar, and I received none of the usual perks associated with premium bookings. Furthermore, Kensington Tours operates under questionable practices, claiming their sales brochure serves as a binding contract without proper documentation. They also tried to justify their inflated prices by citing undisclosed "private discount contracts" with hotels. After negotiations, I was reimbursed $30,000.00, but I believe I am still owed $55,000.00. Considering legal action to hold them accountable, as their actions should serve as a warning to others considering their services.

What a ride! Just gotta say, Kensington Tours rocked our Vietnam & Cambodia trip in Nov 2023. They had our backs on everything – smooth airport pick-ups, lightning-fast visa service, top-notch drivers, local guides who spoke English like locals, and they aced those transfers between countries. Now, here's the plot twist – I'm usually the DIY travel planner for my fam's globe-trotting adventures (we've hit up 20+ countries). But this time, I dipped my toes into the tour guide waters with Kensington, and whoa, what a game-changer! I used to think it's just an extra expense, but turns out, their guides brought a whole new level of pro vibes, knowledge, and passion to the trip. Best part? Letting go of all those nitty-gritty logistics and soaking in the good stuff – the heart and soul of Vietnam & Cambodia. Kensington, you made me a believer!

Stephany at Kensington Tours helped us plan a flawless 10 day trip to visit the highlights of Bolivia. She connected us with a local tour company that had fantastic, English-speaking guides who made our visit authentic and special for us. La Paz area guide Grace was so knowledgeable about all the local history, culture, and must-see attractions, but also very personable (and FUNNY) Our main driver Wilson shared so much valuable information as well. We were blown away by our visit to the Uyuni Salt flats with Miguel and Jesus---they showed us all their favorite places. Pablo led us on an amazing day hike near Huayna Potosi. The hotels and restaurants chosen for us were all fabulous. They have unique opportunities no other lock tour companies offer (They also planned a wonderful trip to Morocco for us in 2019)

Picture this: You plan a dream 'Costa Rica Family Luxury' getaway for spring break 2024, investing $34,000 with Kensington Tours. Excitement turns to dismay as our 'luxury' trip unfolds—a series of disappointments from rundown lodges to lackluster excursions that fell short of promises. Despite daily calls to our travel agent, it was evident Kensington Tours had little interest beyond the initial sale. We felt misled, left with basic accommodations and repetitive activities. We've even reached out for a partial refund, only to be met with silence. Before you book your next adventure, beware of Kensington Tours' hollow promises and unreliable service. Don't let your dream vacation turn into a nightmare. Explore other options for a truly luxurious experience.

I embarked on a "luxury travel" adventure with this company, investing $10k in a journey across Germany and Austria. While the private tour guide and experiences like dinner at the fortress were enjoyable, the overall experience was marred by numerous shortcomings. The hotels featured subpar linens and peculiar bed arrangements. Drivers often displayed a lack of punctuality, causing unnecessary stress. Train tickets labeled as "first class" turned out to be in the less glamorous "business class." The promised private strudel seminar was a crowded 45-minute affair with no diploma. Issues with hotel charges and an unhelpful app added to the frustration. The service lacked the expected level of luxury, leaving me questioning the company's expertise.

Dear Moe, Just wanted to drop you a note to express our gratitude for the amazing trip you organized for us to Egypt and Jordan. From the folks who greeted us at each stop to the guides and drivers, everything ran smoothly and on time. It was clear that they held you in high regard, which definitely worked in our favor. The guides you selected were fantastic. They were knowledgeable, made sure we had a great time, and were willing to accommodate our requests. Thanks again for all your efforts, Moe. While I can't give you a medal, I hope this email serves as a token of our appreciation. I've already told three friends about Kensington and will happily spread the word further. Looking forward to planning our next adventure with you.

My sister and I just got back from a tour of the Cotswolds with Kensington, and let me tell you, it was a blast! We hit up so many cool places - Bath, Stonehenge, Lacock, Castle Combe, By-Brook, Malmsebury, Tetbury, Bybury, Stratford-On-Avon, Burford, and Oxford. Each stop had its own vibe, and we couldn't pick a favorite if we tried. The hotels were legit, not your run-of-the-mill chains. The Bay Tree Hotel in Burford has been around for 450 years - imagine that! The guides were top-notch, dropping interesting facts that you probably wouldn't get on a big group tour. We've barely been home for two weeks, and we're already scheming our next trip. Cheers to Kensington for a memorable adventure!

I just booked a trip to Greece with Kensington Tours. My vendor partner, Arjun Malhotra, was very nice to work with from start to finish. As a travel agent, I had a group of 16. We visited Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini. Arjun helped me with all my questions and worries. The trip included many excursions, ferry rides, all breakfasts at each hotel, and transportation with guides for the trips. A nice touch was the gifts he got for me to hand out to my clients in Athens, along with a letter from me! It was a lovely gesture that made my clients happy. If you go to Greece, Arjun Malhotra is the right choice for your planning! I will for sure use Arjun and Kensington again!!

I work in the travel advisory field, and my encounters with KT have been positive. When 14 of my clients faced flight cancellations during the summer of 2022, KT provided essential support to salvage the trip. Collaborating with them proved beneficial, and I appreciate bundling everything together. KT holds a favorable reputation in the travel industry, and many of us share positive sentiments about our interactions with them. Their communication is effective, and they diligently address any issues that may arise. Currently, I'm engaged with Vanja from KT for a multi-generational trip, and she is proving to be a reliable partner in the planning process.

Our adventure in Tanzania was fantastic! Abood Omar from Kensington Tours did an outstanding job! He not only organized everything but also provided us with lots of useful tips that made everything smooth. He even set up a FaceTime call with me and my kids before we left to get us excited and answer any questions. The trip was perfectly arranged for my family and really met our hopes! Our guide, Alli, was also excellent! Very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful! Thanks to his connections with other guides and his own experience, we saw The Big Five, a Black Rhino with her calf, lions mating, cheetahs hunting, and much more! An unforgettable journey!

Our family had a wonderful trip in Peru. We began in Sacred Valley with Gonzalo, an awesome guide who knew so much. Then, we did a one-day Inca trail hike and Machu Picchu tour with Yamil. He was a great guide with lots of knowledge and experience about the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu. We returned to Cusco with Gonzalo and hiked Rainbow Mountain. We also had a 4-hour Lima tour with excellent guide Hilda. The whole trip was fantastic and went beyond our hopes. I would recommend this team to anyone looking for a great Peru vacation. Sara Hensel at Kensington Tours set up an amazing itinerary.

This was a joint venture between Kensington Tours and Ancestry.com, and the main purpose was to visit my grandparents' ancestral villages in Okinawa and potentially meet distant relatives. I had high expectations going into the trip, and my expectations were exceeded. Everyone involved, from Jeremy (Kensington), Kyle (Ancestry), Yuzo (genealogist), Suiko (guide), the drivers, etc., all worked to ensure this was a trip of a lifetime. The hotel (Double Tree by Hilton, Naha) was also in a great location. I give the Personal Heritage Journeys program my highest recommendation.

Looking for a stress-free travel experience? Look no further! Our Kensington tours were absolutely incredible. Moe, our amazing guide, went above and beyond to assist us with every detail of our trip planning. From booking tours to selecting hotels, Moe made sure everything was perfectly organized. Thanks to him, our journey was smooth sailing from start to finish. The guides were not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable, making every tour unforgettable. If you're planning a trip abroad, trust Kensington Tours to turn your travel dreams into reality!

I'm a travel agency owner and worked with Ronna to plan my clients last minute trip to Italy and Spain. She was fantastic! She was very helpful and worked very hard to make this experience everything they were asking for and more! These were newer clients to me and the details were a big ask for a last minute trip. I truly would not have been able to pull this off for them and to the caliber they were provided, if it were not for Ronna and Kensington Tours. I'm so greatful! It gave me confidence in my supplier and that partnership that together we can do this!

My father and I used Kensington (Dev Jai in particular) to plan a trip to India this summer. Everything went well from beginning to end—well-organized, tailored to our tastes, and a good mix of planned activities and free time. All of our guides were good, but Brijesh in Agra stood out. Kensington staff met us in every city to explain the schedule, and we had the same driver (Jaggi) for most of the trip, who was very nice and caring. There’s honestly nothing I’d adjust. We're already discussing using Kensington for our next family holiday.

We recently planned a trip to Greece with Jaqueline Wilson, and it was fantastic! We loved our stay in Santorini and Athens; the tours and guides were great; all the drivers and transport help were excellent; and the catamaran sunset cruise in Santorini was a top highlight! I also liked how Jaqueline quickly agreed to refund a large cancellation fee from a restaurant (since we had talked about canceling reservations if needed; we didn't expect any fees). Overall, the trip was wonderful and will stay in our memories for a long time.

Prepare to be amazed! Kensington took our family trip to Italy from ordinary to extraordinary. Picture this: personalized tours, knowledgeable guides, and a touch of fun that made every moment unforgettable. They didn't just show us Italy; they made us feel its history in every step. Nicolo Capucci, our destination expert, went above and beyond, ensuring every detail was perfect. If you're dreaming of an Italian adventure, look no further. Kensington delivers more than just a trip; they create memories that last a lifetime.

Wow, what a game-changer! Tanya Murray from Kensington Tours hooked us up with a custom trip to Poland, and it was off the charts. Seriously, every little detail – sorted. Now, for all our international adventures, Tanya and Kensington are our go-to crew. International travel? Complex. But with Tanya in the driver's seat, it was smooth sailing. The hotels? Top-notch. Tour guides? Walking encyclopedias. Plus, having Tanya and her team as our safety net? Absolutely priceless. No doubt, they're our travel squad from now on!

From our travel advisor (Lily) to everyone we interacted with throughout our trip and during our African adventure (from Kensington to hotel personnel, to travel guides/drivers and everyone), they were all excellent and never missed a step. The quality of client service was remarkably high, and even though we had very high hopes, I can truthfully say, the Kensington team still surpassed them. I have only positive things to say and give Kensington a 10 (out of 10) recommendation.

I collaborated with Samuel Corker to organize an unforgettable adventure for my clients in London after their cruise. From the beginning, Sam offered great choices that matched what my clients desired. Planning for a group of 12 can be tricky, but Sam handled changes smoothly whenever problems came up or clients requested minor tweaks. This trip took months to arrange, and Samuel was always prompt with his replies. We highly suggest Kensington and Sam for your travel arrangements!

I read raving reviews about Kensington Tour before. After experiencing the service, I'm a fan! Dario, my personal travel advisor, is very knowledgeable about the region I'm traveling to. He's creative in crafting the travel plan that fits my interest, trip duration, while maintaining accommodation quality and staying close to the budget. With Kensington and Dario, I feel like a friend is planning my dream vacation for me. The personalized service model sets them apart!

Enjoyed the customized experience for our needs and wish list. Helped with show tickets, city/museum tours, and restaurant experiences. Price was competitive with high end group tour but just for us. Every trip had an issue. Impressive help on the phone for the right flight, insurance or last minute tour change. Family: teen (new to overseas travel) with 2 adults (20+ years).

From planning to the trip itself, it was wonderful! We had a great time on our Signature Budapest, Vienna, Prague vacation. Veronica planned a great trip that matched our tastes. Every detail was excellent - hotels, drivers, guides, food tastings, and country tips. We were amazed at how great the trip was. We look forward to booking our next trip!

I would have given Kensington a 5 except for our experience with their air division and our disappointment in the ship on the Nile cruise part of our trip. Our guides were great as were the hotels. Moe, our agent was terrific and I would recommend him to everyone. He was informative and so responsive and helpful; just what you would want.

My journey through Cascais, Sintra, and Lisbon was really nice. Our guide, Anabela, knew a lot and was enjoyable to be around. The hotels picked by Kensington were ideal, first by the beach with a spa, then in the city with a good spot. All the drivers were good, everyone was punctual (including us). I would suggest them. :)

Moe Sami and Kensington gave us a trip like never before. Photos can’t capture how amazing the places were. The trip was well organized with safety as a top priority. I'd tell others not to listen to those who say Egypt isn't safe. We never felt unsafe and Egyptians were so nice. It's gonna be hard to beat this trip

I’ve used Kensington Tours 4 times. They have smart people for every country you want to visit. They make a trip just for you, based on what you like and how much you want to spend. You can call them 24 hours a day if you need help. The tour guides are professional and friendly, making the trip fun and memorable.

We jus took a trip to Central Europe and Kensigton took care of all the details. A shout out to Kimberly D. and Rommel B. who organized everything for us and answered every question we had. All the hotels, tours, drivers were friendly and knowledgeable, and clearly love what they do. Awesome experience!!

These guys were an epic fail on planning with 3 of 5 flights not booked and our express visa service not happening at all. Additionally not contact or apology for this extremely poor service. I can’t really recommend these people to anyone because they were more basic than then premium.

Ana set up for us (after she lived in Italy) a great two-week Italian vacation. 5-star housing within our budget. Also set up proper cancellation insurance. When we had to cancel, she worked just as hard to get our payments back. Definitely booking with Ana and Kensington again!

Kensington Tours Review (My HONEST Experience)

I recently came across Kensington Tours, a company that specializes in creating customized, private-guided trips. I was impressed by their website, and decided to take a trip through them.

Kensington Tours offers a wide range of trips, including group and small group tours. They cater to various interests and preferences which makes them an attractive option for diverse groups of travelers. In particular, I was impressed to find out that first-time customers were pleased with their experiences, praising the logistics, planning, and knowledgeable local guides provided by Kensington Tours.

In this article, I will be telling you my opinion of this tour-booking company, based on my experiences of travelling with them.

Overview of Kensington Tours

Kensington Tours Reviews

Kensington Tours can be worth your money if you select the correct packages. However, some people have faced problems, so be careful when booking.

This company also provides experienced guides who will take you through all the sightseeing places and accompany you on tour. They are mainly used for traveling to foreign countries where people need to learn more about the local scene. The guides will know the local language and can interact with the locals on your behalf.

You won’t have to worry about anything other than your flights to reach your destination.

Services Offered

During my research about Kensington Tours, I discovered that they provide customized itineraries and personalized travel experiences. A wonderful woman by the name of Amanda Jex was my destination lead, and she was very accommodating to the last-minute changes we made to the itineraries.

Kensington Tours made our multi-country trips stress-free with efficient logistical services, such as on-time drivers, clear signage, and convenient train tickets.

Kensington Tours delivered a great bespoke European vacation for my visit to Italy and Switzerland. The company listened carefully to my family’s desires and tailored the itinerary accordingly.

Destinations Covered

Kensington Tours offers a variety of trips to different parts of the world. Some of the popular destinations I found include:

  • Ultimate Ireland (Small Groups):  This 13-day group tour costs $7,775 and covers iconic Irish attractions.
  • Northern Lights Escape:  A 6-day small group tour priced at $2,340, with a focus on chasing the mesmerizing aurora borealis.
  • Iceland Discovery:  This 8-day small group tour, costing $3,950, takes travelers to the stunning landscapes of Iceland.
  • Everest Base Camp Trek:  An adventurous small group tour that brings participants on a trek to the base camp of Mount Everest.

Pros and Cons of Kensington Tours

Kensington Tours gives exceptional service, tailored itineraries, and knowledgeable local travel guides. The company offers a wide range of  interesting trips  catering to diverse interests and preferences, such as small group tours in Ireland, Northern Lights escapes, and Everest Base Camp treks. Their flexibility and customization options make them appealing to travelers looking for unique or personalized experiences.

In addition to the impressive variety of tours, I was also happy with the accommodations, transportation, and overall logistics provided by Kensington Tours. Their level of organization and attention to detail contributed to a smooth and stress-free travel experience.

However, there have been instances where some travelers had  less than satisfactory experiences  with Kensington Tours. It’s important to note that discrepancies in service quality or tour expectations can happen with any tour operator and do not necessarily reflect the overall offerings of the company.

My main gripe with them is that they charge a very high cancellation fee ($350 per person). This makes it difficult to book a trip with them if you are not sure about when exactly you will be departing.

Nonetheless, potential issues to be aware of include inadequate accommodations or miscommunication in terms of expectations and itineraries . To avoid disappointment, I recommend doing thorough research on the specific tour you are interested in and reading multiple reviews to gather a well-rounded understanding of what to expect.

Can You Cancel Tours On Kensington Tours?

All cancellations of confirmed reservations on Kensington Tours will face a penalty of $350 per person. You will receive a full refund only if you cancel the tour 90 days before departure.

If you cancel a booked tour 60-89 days before departure, the penalty paid will be 30% of the booking price. Any canceled trip 30-59 days before the tour will face a loss of 50% of the program price.

Any tour cancellation about 29 days before departure won’t qualify for a refund. The cancellation fees will be 100% of the program price.

How To Get Refunds From Kensington Tours?

You need to contact customer support to get a refund from Kensington Tours. You have the option to call them or send them an email on their registered email ID.

They levy heavy cancellation charges even if you cancel a month in advance. They won’t be responsible for the cancellation fees imposed by the airlines and other associated services.

Is It Better To Trave With A Tour Company Or On Your Own?

It is better to go with a tour company if you are traveling to a different country. However, arranging the trip yourself is better when traveling within your own country.

When visiting foreign countries, you will face many cultural and language barriers. These issues can cause trouble in planning your perfect trip.

Additionally, you may miss out on good tourist spots in foreign countries. This will not happen on guided tours since they know them all.

However, if you are familiar with the country and its language, you can travel alone. It will be a fun experience if you have the time to research properly.

All in all, just adopt this rule of thumb 👉 Domestic Travel – Travel on your own; International Travel – Travel with a tour company.

Final Remarks

In this article, I tried to give you an honest depiction of what traveling with Kensington Tours might look like.

I would suggest you try Kensington Tours if you have the budget. Just be sure to be clear in your communications and what you expect from the trip, especially the itineraries.
