How to extend visit visa in Saudi Arabia electronically seven days before expiry

Visa holders to receive prompt text notifications on permit extension queries

Dubai: Visit visa holders in Saudi Arabia can now renew their permit validity electronically seven days before its expiration, eliminating the need for a physical visit to Jawazat offices.

The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has issued a directive to all holders of various visit visas within the Kingdom, urging them to adhere to visa regulations.

The directorate stated that the single-entry visit visa could be renewed a week prior to its expiry through the Ministry of Interior’s electronic platform, Absher.

This renewal service is accessible via both Absher Afrad (for individuals) and Absher Aamal (for businesses), as well as the Muqeem electronic portal.

For the visa extension, applicants should log into their Absher account, make the necessary payment for the service fee, and ensure they have valid medical insurance in place. It’s imperative to note that while the extension process is made simpler, it is still bound by specific terms and conditions. The cumulative extension period for the visit visa is capped at 180 days.

If visa holders encounter any challenges while accessing this electronic service, they can raise a request directly with the Jawazat through the communication service available on the Absher platform. A dedicated team at the directorate will review the matter and promptly notify the requester of the status via a text message, as per the official statement from the directorate.

Every family visit visa holder needs to pay the visit visa extension fee to extend the visa. Here is the process to pay the visit visa extension fee in Saudi Arabia through Al Rajhi Bank and SNB.

How to extend family visit visa in Saudi Arabia?

Visit visa extension fee

The family visit visa extension fee is SR 100 for each extension.
In case you are applying for the extension within 3 days after visa expiry, you need to pay an additional SR 500 fee as a fine.

In order to pay the pay visit visa extension fee through SNB or Al Ahli Bank;

Download the Application through PlayStore or iTunes.
Log in to your Internet banking account.
Click on the “ Menu ” button.
Select “ SADAD “.
Click on “ Government Payments “.
Biller: Alien Control .
Service: Extend Visitor Visa .
Select Unregistered .
Enter the Border number of the family visit visa holder.

The border number is written by hand on the passport of the applicant by the immigration authorities. If you don’t find it, you can check the border number online .

The SNB system will show the amount to be paid for the visit visa extension. Click on the Confirm button to pay for it.

Al Rajhi Bank

In order to pay the pay visit visa extension fee through Al Rajhi Bank;

Download the Application through PlayStore or iTunes .
Select “ Payments “.
Press the “ Government Payment ” button.
Click on the “ Alien Control “.
Select Extend Visitor Visa .

On the next screen, you need to;

Enter the Border Number .

Check the Status of the Payment

Unfortunately, you cannot check the status of payment through available funds on the Absher account.
The only way to if the fee is paid properly is to extend the family visit visa.

If you try to extend the family visit visa without paying the fee, the following message appears.

“Sorry!! due to insufficient funds, the visit visa (VV) cannot be extended. Please deposit sufficient funds to proceed with the VV extension.”
