Striking the perfect balance between style and comfort can make those long hours of waiting and transit feel much more pleasant.

Whether you’re jetting off for a leisurely vacation or a business endeavor. Finding the best airport outfit can set the tone for your entire trip. As a full-time travel blogger, I’m always on the move and searching for that perfect airport outfit.

In this blog post, we’ll dive into the world of travel fashion and explore the art of curating comfortable yet chic ensembles that are tailored for traversing terminals, enduring flights, and arriving at your destination feeling effortlessly put-together. Coordinated ensembles, featuring a top and bottom that perfectly complement each other, have become the go-to choice for jet-setters looking to elevate their airport fashion game. But it’s not just about appearances—wearing a matching set while traveling offers a multitude of benefits that go beyond aesthetics.

Not only are you at an optimal comfort level but you also always look effortless while wearing a matching set. There are so many sets on the market these days. You can choose from a knit set, a matching sweat set, or even a short set for those summer months. Pair it with loafers and a classic trench for a polished look. For a casual look pair it with white sneakers and a denim jacket ! Below I’m sharing my top picks at all price points.

MATCHING SET TOP PICKS:

Leggings + Oversized Button-Down

Classic but make it comfy! This dynamic duo not only offers a timeless and polished look but also comes with a range of benefits that make navigating airports, flights, and new destinations a breeze. When it comes to picking out leggings I always have the best luck when purchasing quality over quantity.

For instance, I’ve had my Lululemon leggings for 7 years now and they still look new (wear roughly 1-2 a week). Really. It’s best to invest in pieces you know you will wear over and over. Additionally, I’ve recently fallen in love with the Alo Leggings for travel. And if you’re looking for a pair to hold it all in consider the Spanx leggings . As for the oversized button-down, I tend to find good ones at Zara and H&M since these pieces truly only last a few seasons. Pro tip: size up your button-down for an oversized fit.

MUST-HAVE LEGGINGS:

Knit Joggers + Graphic Tee

This combination airs more on the casual side but is a favorite of mine. This airport outfit is perfect for those red-eye flights since we need all the comfort to help us sleep. Finding the perfect pair of knit joggers is not easy. I’ve added my favorite ones below to help you decide. Furthermore, I always find the best graphic tees at Abercrombie.

Finally, you can pair this look low with slip-on sneakers, a baseball cap , and an oversized jacket to pull it all together. Don’t forget to pack your eye mask to get some shut-eye.

JOGGER PICKS:

Biker Shorts + Crewneck Sweatshirt

A little more on the trendy side but this combo is perfect for those warm summer temps. I’m obsessed with these biker shorts from Alo . They are the best quality and come in over 10 colors. You can easily pair this look with an oversized sweatshirt (blazer if you want to be super on-trend), sneakers , and a baseball cap to pull it all together.

CREWNECK SWEATSHIRT FAVORITES:

Who wants to wear a dress on a plane? Not me! Another easy way to put together a stylish airport outfit without actually trying is to invest in a comfortable jumpsuit. You can easily pair this with cute sneakers , an oversized denim jacket, and a scarf (that doubles as a blanket on the plane) to pull it all together. It may be a bit difficult traveling in a jumpsuit when it comes to using the bathroom, but anything to look cute, right?

Airport Outfits Must-Haves

A comfortable jacket.

A comfortable jacket , faux leather jacket, or sweatshirt is a must for travel clothes. I tend to stick to a classic denim jacket as it’s so versatile for both the summer and fall. You can always count on airplane cabins to be chilly, so you don’t want to forget this piece when traveling. Also, it can double as a blanket or travel pillow. You sure can get creative on a flight!

Baseball Cap

It’s always smart to have a hat on hand because you never know what kind of bad hair days you will run into when traveling. This is the perfect way to combat those unexpected days and stay incognito on your flight if you don’t want to chat it up with your neighbor.

Comfortable Sneakers

Whenever I’m traveling, I want to be as comfortable as possible since there is usually a lot of walking involved. Skip the heels and opt for a chic pair of comfortable shoes for your trip. You’ll be happy you did!

Airport Accessories Must-Haves

If you’re wondering what kind of accessories to pack for your travel day, I got you covered! Firstly, for those early morning/red-eye flights consider packing cat-eye sunglasses to hide those tired eyes. Next, a good pair of socks to keep your feet warm on the plane. A pair of affordable noise-canceling headphones go a long way in the airport. Finally, I never leave for a trip without my portable backup chargers .

There is nothing more fun and exciting than planning a trip, picking a destination, buying the plane tickets… If you’re type-A like me then even the act of deciding what outfits to wear on the trip and organizing everything you need can be so much fun.

There is a certain thrill that comes from simply walking into an airport, it’s like all the planning and dreaming about your destination finally comes together in that moment. Honestly I’ve come to find that it doesn’t matter if you’re traveling international or local, for pleasure or for work — travel is fun, going to new places and experiencing new things is always so exciting.

A love for travel is something I think we all universally share and if you’re lucky enough to be at a place in your life were you can do it, then you know how exciting it is. But there is one part of travel that people don’t put as much thought or planning into.

Which is actually the process of actually getting to your destination. And more specifically what to wear while traveling, And I get it, no one dreams about the long hours waiting at the airport and then the even longer hours sitting in the plane — we’re to busy obsessing about our destinations!

But if you think about it, depending on your destination, you’re probably going to spend a lot of hours in one outfit so you definitely want it to be comfortable. Your airport outfit is totally something you gotta put at least some thought into.

A good outfit to wear to the airport should always put comfort first and style second but that it should go on the back burner completely! You can totally have the best of both worlds if that is something that is important to you…

Travel in Style & Comfort with These Airport Outfit Ideas

Hoodie, legging and sneaker combo.

There is a reason why the specific combination of an oversized hoodie or sweatshirt with legging and sneakers is so beloved as an airport fit. It’s a simple look to put together that is all together comfortable and stylish. You can throw on a baseball cap as an extra touch if you want. It’s literally such a good outfit for trotting around airports and being super comfortable and warm on airplanes.

SHOP THESE LOOKS

Jacket Over Crop Top and Leggings with Sneakers

This is another super comfortable and casual outfit that you can put together but this time with a little bit more style thrown into the mix. It can be a bit of a risk wearing a crop top while traveling but as long as you layer it with a good jacket then that should take care of any problems that you might have. Like in case it is colder than you expect. A cute way to style a little crop top for the airport is to pair it with some good leggings or some comfy sweatpants that you love.

Leather Jacket Over Matching Hoodie and Sweatpants

This is the type of airport outfit that well have you ready for anything. A strong black leather jacket thrown over a matching hoodie and sweatpants set. It doesn’t matter if you’re taking a short trip or catching a flight that’s taking you to the other side of the world. At least you know that wherever you’re going, your going to arrive in style. The best thing about these types of outfits is how easy it is to shed either the leather jacket or the hoodie depending on the situation.

Flannel Shirt Over Crop Top Outfit

We all know that flannel looks good for women as something to throw over an outfit. An outfit that you totally can’t over think for the airport is a flannel shirt thrown over a crop top with either sweatpants or leggings (whatever you feel most comfortable in!) and pair of comfy sneakers. Sneakers are always a great option for the airport, just in terms of comfort and ease, though you gotta pick a pair you’re comfortable wearing for a while. There a son of great options that mix comfort and style.

Matching Set with Shorts

Even though sporty outfits with shorts are so cute, you totally just want to pick this kinda look if you’re going on a short trip because shorts can get uncomfortably real quick. But honestly wear whatever makes you comfortable. Matching sets with sweatshirts/hoodies and shorts meet that cozy , cute qualification we want so much in our airport fits. With this look, you could either go for the more sporty looking set with the shorts or the matching set that is more like loungewear (soft and cozy). Whichever you prefer, all I know is that wherever you land, you’re going to be looking so cute!

Blazer with Crop Top Over Jeans and Sneakers

If you’re heading to the airport more style focused then you gotta throw on a blazer over a casual outfit, something like an easy casual top and years with some sneakers. This is the type of outfit you put on when you know you’re going to meet a few people right after stepping off the airplane. Or if you’re landing in the middle of a city, in the afternoon, it’s the sort of outfit you can wear both on and off the plane and not have to stress about how you look.

Matching Loungewear Set

I mean what better outfit to wear to the airport than a cozy lounge set? Especially if you’re heading for a super long flight! You’ll want to pick a lounge wear set that you can firstly wear out of the house without looking crazy! And also one that is soft and comfortable. You can easily find some flattering sets to wear to the airport. And, the right lounge wear set can make you look so chic and effortless. Plus top off your set with a long cardigan , just in case it gets chilly and you need a little extra coverage.

Jumpsuit and sneakers

Jumpsuits are kind of in this weird middle position of being both incredibly great and also terrible for travel. On the one hand its this single piece of clothing that you get to slip and then not have to stress about after but on the other hand, bathroom breaks in the thing can get really annoying. I will say though that jumpsuits can be really stylish and flattering and also extremely comfy and cozy which make them so great for traveling around in. Full body jumpsuits paired with a zip-up hoodie are great for long distance travel and then the short, romper style jumpsuits are great for those quick little trips. Both styles are really fashionable.

You can’t go wrong with a matching sporty set and a puffer jacket vest. Especially if you’re traveling to somewhere cold or you’re heading to the airport during the colder months. An open front puffer jacket vest adds so much style to a look, especially something like a basic sweatsuit set.

Planning a vacation in 2024 and need to know what to wear while traveling? I’ve got you covered with 17+ comfy airport outfits and travel outfits that are the perfect blend of chic and comfy, in any season!

Creating Chic Travel Outfits

Who doesn’t love going on vacation and traveling to a new destination? I know I definitely do!

But while I love exploring new places, I also know that travel days can be pretty hectic! It’s important to be prepared with comfortable outfits you can easily spend the day in while navigating airports or sitting in rental cars. 

If you’re in need of fashionable and functional travel outfits, you’ll love my looks below. I have airport outfits for every style and season, so whether you’re traveling to a tropical paradise or a winter wonderland, you’ll be set!

denim jacket + a puffer vest

get the look:

Layers are a must if you’re traveling in the fall or winter! I love starting my travel ensemble with basics like my Lululemon Align leggings and oversized Jil Sander tee (more affordable option here ) , then layering as needed.

Above, I added my Madewell denim jacket and Quince puffer vest to keep me warm and cozy both on and off the plane!

An oversized tee and black leggings are the start of my airport outfit here as well, but this time, I’m staying warm with a sleek and modern bomber jacket .

I recommend choosing an outfit like this when it’s a little warmer out. The jacket is perfect for staying warm in a cold airport but can easily be removed as needed. And, these New Balance 574 sneakers are so comfortable!

linen pants + a denim jacket

Drawstring linen pants are an absolute essential in my spring and summer wardrobe! They are so comfortable and easy to wear during a travel day, and the denim jacket is stylish and adds a layer of warmth – airplane AC is always so intense!

I love this Quince phone crossbody  for convenience (it fits a passport too) . And I always recommend wearing sneakers or other comfy footwear when traveling – bonus points if your shoes can be easily slipped off and on when going through security!

Looking for the ultimate cozy travel outfit?

Leggings and Ugg Tasman slippers are definitely my go-to for comfort in the cooler months (the Uggs have been selling out constantly, so here’s a perfect high-quality Tasman dupe ) . And a long wool camel coat is not only chic but also perfect for layering – it doubles as a blanket on the plane!

I also love this long knitted coatigan from Mango as a great travel piece.

I love simple, neutral outfits because they always look effortless and stylish. A plain white tee and black linen drawstring pants are ultra-comfy but still have a chic, put-together aesthetic.

This outfit is great for summer traveling, but I always bring a sweater with me so I don’t get too cold on the plane.

This is another cold-weather travel outfit that I love! Lululemon fleece joggers and a crewneck sweatshirt are great base layers and the bomber jacket adds an extra cozy feel. 

And if you ask me, this ensemble has a laid-back, sporty feel, making adidas Samba sneakers and a baseball cap the perfect finishing touch!

trench coat + trousers

You don’t have to be traveling to France to dress like a Parisian while on vacation! 

A trench coat is a classic piece in French fashion, and with good reason. It’s lightweight, versatile, and oh-so chic – what more could you want for an airport outfit?

I recommend using a trench coat to layer over other pieces when traveling in cold weather or to stay dry while out and about on rainy days. A trench coat can also be used for a modern and refined look, making it perfect for any occasion!

I think a matching sweatsuit set makes a perfect travel outfit because it’s comfortable and versatile. You can wear a sweatsuit set to stay warm while traveling in the fall or winter, and you can wear it as is or add layers if needed. 

And I love that you can double up on a matching set by using it to build other outfits during your trip.

Jeans are a must to bring along when traveling, and you can’t go wrong wearing it as part of your airport outfit, so long as your jeans are comfortable and not too snug ! 

One thing I love about jeans is how easy they are to care for. Jeans can be worn days in a row before needing to be washed (especially in cold weather) , so being a low-maintenance and versatile piece makes them great for traveling in my opinion.

A warm coat will keep you ultra-comfy as you fly. And if you ask me, a shearling coat or shacket is a travel piece you can’t go wrong with! This piece will keep you warm even on the coldest days, and it’s also fashionable and versatile enough to wear with so many outfits. 

Such a chic and neutral-toned coat is a must if you’re traveling to or from somewhere chilly. And this coat will look great while keeping you cozy everywhere from the airplane to local cafes to must-see landmarks!

If you want to know one of the best things to wear while traveling, look no further than a classic pair of leggings.

Comfortable and stretchy leggings are a perfect piece to wear, whether you’ll be walking through an airport or sitting on a plane. I suggest searching for a pair made of breathable material and one with pockets for easy access to your phone and other essentials.

If you plan on traveling in the fall or winter ( or maybe your destination will have chilly weather ), bringing a coat is a no-brainer. And I think a long coat like this is an easy way to add a stylish and modern aesthetic to your outfits.

A piece like this will keep you nice and cozy during a busy day of traveling, and you’re sure to use it when trying local cuisine or attending a wine tasting. I love that it adds an elegant touch to a simple outfit like this, so you know you can pair this with any look, both casual and refined.

What would the summer be without gorgeous flowy dresses to spend your days in? This breezy piece will keep you comfy and cool throughout your day, and it will definitely be comfortable to wear while sitting on a plane. 

And in my opinion, a dress is a great piece to bring along on your vacation. You can style it casually as you travel or when checking out local spots at your destination, and it can easily be transformed into a chic date night look with a high-end handbag and some gold-toned jewelry.

Next on the list of comfy airport outfits for summer are flowy, linen pants. These are another fantastic travel piece you can wear for any occasion, from laid-back to classy and refined. So whether you plan on exploring tourist hot spots or dining on gourmet cuisine, these pants will fit into your vacation looks effortlessly. 

I also think that crisp light-colored pants are perfect for a summer outfit, and the relaxed fit also makes them comfy enough for long travel days. They’ll fit easily into your luggage, and these lightweight trousers will definitely be a staple in your vacation wardrobe.

I know I’m not the only one who loves layering an oversized blazer over any outfit!

Adding a blazer to an outfit is a great way to elevate your look when it comes to comfy airport outfits for summer. A blazer instantly adds a stylish and modern vibe to any ensemble, so it’s a perfect styling piece to bring while traveling.

A button-up shirt is also another perfectly versatile piece for an airport outfit. I love that you can wear it out for a fancy dinner, pair it with jeans for a casual look, or layer it over a bikini during a tropical vacation.

Go for maximum comfort and style in a stretchy, ribbed midi skirt and a matching top! A skirt and top set like this are lightweight and breezy but still offer plenty of coverage while traveling.

While maxi denim skirts and a pair of ballet flats might have made their way into your suitcase—along with your go-to non-comedogenic foundation and sunscreens for the face , of course—most of us prefer to be as comfy as possible during those long airport wait times.

And though the best comfy loungewear is top of our list, a practical but stylish look is the best of both worlds for when you also want to look prepped and ready for touch-down at your vacay destination. So, we’ve asked the experts for all the essential airport styles…

What to wear to the airport and during your flight

The best airport outfits will feature a range of different features:

• Layers, layers, layers: Celebrity stylist, Ellis Ranson says layers are key for airport fits—always make sure you have a sweater or hoodie on hand!
• Elevated staples: opt for interesting basics, like racer necklines or an oversized T-shirt or stylish but soft trousers, like high-waisted suit pants or cargos.
• No creases: Avoid fabrics that crease, for an overall polished look.
• Jewelry: A simple pair of huggie hoops or gold necklaces can really elevate a basic fit. And make sure to avoid anything metallic for the security sensors!
• Athleisure: Bicycle shorts and seamless leggings are great fall-back pieces if you want to be comfy but still chic.
• Remember, comfort is everything: Regardless of what's stylish or trendy, as long as you're comfortable you can't really go wrong!

Airports often involve upright seating that is by no means comfortable, long wait times, sometimes queues and are either drafty or stuffy (there's no in-between), meaning you need to consider a whole lot of things—not to mention the flight itself! 

A key tip is layering, such as wearing a t-shirt under your jumper or hoody for any changes in climate (in and out of the airport). Celebrity stylist, Ellis Ranson says: “I always wear a little crop top under my jumper and jacket if traveling anywhere warm, so you can pull it off as soon as you arrive.

Another tip, footwear-wise, for anyone jetting off on a summer getaway, Ranson adds: “Wear socks and sliders and remove your socks or pack a pair of flip-flops in your hand luggage.”

Staples are key for building a chic but comfy fit, Ranson advises to "elevate your basics, go for different shapes look at racer necklines or an oversized t-shirt. Tie a jumper around your shoulders or go for an oversized blazer." 

A nice blazer atop your fit would definitely give you that ' Quiet Luxury ' feel! We'd also recommend some soft, suit-style pants, as they're loose-fitting but smart—not to mention effortlessly chic.

Ellis also says to keep your fit 'tonal' adding: "Don't wear anything that will massively crease. I always think if you look polished and neat you look great. Don’t forget to add a few layered necklaces and bracelets and do a messy hair-up do, to go with the look.” Gold huggie earrings are also a must—but make sure you have a mini jewelry box or bag with you though, in case you need to take off your bracelets, rings and so on for security.

Penelope Armstrong, Design Manager & Jessica Howell, Athleisure Buyer for Boohoo have also weighed in on the best airport fashion . " The perfect short tracksuit set is a must for traveling in," the pair notes, adding: "We love oversized hoodies and sweatshirts or t-shirts teamed with matching cycling shorts." This is an ideal fit if your home destination is on the chillier side, but where you're heading to is hot, hot, hot —as you can just ditch the sweaters when needed!

If you have comfort in mind, Armstrong and Howell suggest a pair of seamless leggings, paired with 'an oversized hoodie/sweatshirt or an oversized shirt' for a chic and minimalist but also cozy fit.

Like Ranson, they also advise elevating your fave athleisure look, "with some sliders or comfy trainers, a cap and one of our giant tote bags to make the most of that carry-on allowance! Caps and tote bags also double up as beach day must-haves whilst you’re away."

• Celebrity-inspired:  No one travels in style quite like a celeb. Often photographed at the airport, they're always on their fashion A-game, so I've taken inspiration from their most-loved in-flight outfits
• Comfort:  When it comes to flying, feeling comfortable is without a doubt the number one consideration. I've only chosen pieces   I'd be happy to sit around in for at least a few hours.
• Price: Celebrities love their designer garms but I've kept things on the more affordable side - every item included is under £100.

Bella has one of my favourite airport styles - she's been spotted in leather blazers with wide-leg trousers and jeans with sweaters, but by far most frequently, a cool tracksuit with a pair of trainers. As you know, I traveled to California for my fall break and spent last week frolicking around West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Laguna Beach. It was the best week of my life getting to see new sights with my content creating besties. Of course, we shot tons of photos and looks throughout our trip to give you a little (okay, a lot ) of outfit inspiration.

I’ve never been on the west coast, let alone in the middle of October, so needless to say I was blindsided on what to pack. I lucked out and had plenty of looks for each occasion. It’s still very hot during the day—seventy-five degrees and not a cloud in the sky. It was the kind of weather you want to bottle up forever. However, at night it does get chilly so long sleeves and jeans are also a must.

Pack layers and all your funky fashion favorites and you’ll be just fine. In the meantime, I’m breaking down all twenty outfits I wore throughout my trip including direct links to shop + directions to each spot I shot photos so you can recreate them on your trip!

CHECKING IN

Keeping things casual for my first leg of the trip in a basic white tee + jeans. These are some of my current favs—with huge rips in the knees and a low-rise waistband, they are so on-trend. For shoes, I’ve got on my new favorite platform sneakers from Steve Madden. I wore them a ton throughout the trip. They are the perfect mix of comfortable yet trendy. However, these do run a little small so definitely size up! Tying a flannel around my waist for when it gets chilly and an extra layer is needed.

GROOVY GIRL  

My favorite part about California is that you can wear this to lunch on a random Wednesday and nobody thinks anything of it. I grabbed this funky skirt from Dolls Kill and it’s definitely short but my gosh is it adorable. I’m pairing it with a basic white tank from Express’s Body Contour line. I bring these on every trip because they truly pair with everything.

It was a little brisk so I popped on a brown blazer over top and slipped into my new Franco Sarto boots. I have these in two colors now and they are some of the best. They are definitely a little bit pricier but they are real leather and therefore incredibly comfortable for walking distances in heels! I wore them numerous times throughout the trip and cannot recommend them enough.

NIGHT ON THE TOWN  

Off to Pump for dinner + drinks which called for something a little sexier. This Whitefox Boutique top is a staple in my college closet and looked awesome paired with these Princess Polly pants. They aren’t quite leather but aren’t quite silk—a unique mix that’s so comfortable. They have a straight leg fit that hits just at the ankles so a pair of heels is a must.

RIGHT ON RODEO  

Off to Rodeo Drive to do a little window shopping. This is one of the richest areas of California and there are well-dressed people on every corner. Definitely felt out of place without a designer bag and although self-conscious of what I looked like, I was pleasantly surprised by the dozens of compliments my outfit received.

This two-piece set was another Dolls Kill find. The pieces are sold separately and run super tiny since this is a thicker tweed material. I recommend going up a size in both top and bottom. With a pair of heeled boots, this was the perfect outfit for the occasion.

PRETTY BY THE PALMS  

Feeling all the good vibes visiting Hermosa Beach in this 70s inspired outfit. As I said, it does cool down a bit in the evening. Luckily, this dress was a knit sweater material so I was able to go without an extra layer over top. However, a turtleneck underneath or a cardigan popped over top would be adorable.

To go with the flower details I’ve popped on the same boots and a simple white bag! Fun yet simple and I scored tons of compliments from the locals.

HEART EYES FOR YOU

If you thought the floral boots were good, wait until you see these babies! After receiving so much love on my floral pair in new York City, I knew I needed to grab a fun “token” piece for California. I stumbled across these heart booties on Dolls Kill site and freaked out. Everything about these were fantastic.

Now can we give this dress a moment of its own too…. I mean come on! How fun is this?! Between the shift silhouette, the billowing one shoulder, and the tie belt this piece is everything I could have hoped for. I’m truly obsessed.

ROOFTOP VIBES  

I’ll admit, this outfit was a little out of place for Hermosa. There’s a twenty-something beach town vibe here so this dress and heels would have been better suited for a dinner in Beverly Hills but oh well, it was adorable nonetheless. This green wrap dress is from Princess Polly and is one of my favorite pieces ever.

It’s an incredible jersey material that hugs your figure beautifully + is incredibly comfortable. With nude heels and a chain-link bag, you’ve got a simple yet sexy combo for a night out.

COFFEE SHOP CUTIE  

A sweet sweater and jeans were perfect for morning coffee outside of our hotel. Something light and cropped is all you’ll need for a brisk morning in California. This cutie is from Beginning Boutique and paired well with my favorite cropped flare jeans from Express. I slipped into mules and a matching hat to add a little something fun to the look.

GOING IN GO GOS  

These floral go-go boots made their debut for New York Fashion Week and the amount of love I received on them was unreal. Of course, I had to bring them to LA. Truly anything goes here so an outfit like this isn’t anything out of the ordinary, trust me. For morning photos I paired a simple white turtleneck with this green courdoroy skirt. This is about as “fall” as it gets here, lol.

Of course, the center of the show are my Dolls Kill boots. Surprisingly, these are super easy to walk in with platform heels and a chunky wedge. I couldn’t love this outfit more. Simple yet so not…

SCREAMING STREET STYLE

Throwing a little bit of street style at ya with this look. So many of you ordered this cropped long sleeve from SheIn! It’s super short but matches perfectly with this mini ruched skirt. I’ve been seeing these all over my Pinterest feed recently and had to give one a try.

Pop on sneakers, a pair of sunnies, and gold hoops and you’re good to go. Oh, and we can’t forget about my new necklace stack. These Gorjana necklaces were my only purchase of LA and I haven’t taken them off since. I bought them from @detailshb and am already planning on grabbing the bracelets to match.

SASSY IN SILK

Feeling like a million bucks in this combo. This top was handmade by a sweet girl I follow on Instagram. It can be tied four different ways so the options are truly endless. The quality + stitching is incredible and I love the bright pop of color. I chose to leave the woven side along the front, however, it’s super cute worn along the back as well.

I finally found the *perfect* straight-leg jeans. These came hours before I left for my trip and I packed them without even trying them on. Luckily, these fit my waist beautifully and are the perfect length. They are very stretchy + high waisted enough to wear with tiny tops which is a plus.

MEET ME BY THE WATER  

Off to see the California ocean for the first time in this incredible crochet set. When I saw this on Princess Polly’s website a few months ago, I instantly added it to my cart. I’d been saving it specifically for this trip and pictures just don’t do it justice. It’s the cutest cropped long-sleeve with matching shorts. It could totally work as a beach cover-up or on its own as you watch the waves roll in + grab lunch by the water.

FITTING FOR THE FAIR

Here’s my Santa Monica pier fit for ya! This funky floral dress is giving me all the retro vibes. I’m obsessed with the halter neckline and the cute tie-front detail along the skirt. I paired it with boots, however, I would have preferred sneakers for this occasion. This is a very touristy area with tons of attractions, games, and rides so something a little more mobile would have been better!

BASKING IN BLUE  

I do like to clean up nice for dinner with my ladies! This blue dress was a recent Beginning Boutique find and my gosh did I feel incredible in it. Similar to that green mini dress, this is that same jersey material that’s super stretchy, hugging everything. It makes your booty pop and is so comfortable (especially after a three-course meal, lol).

I wore my hair up partly to show off the cowl neckline but mostly because my hair hadn’t been washed yet. Heels and a bag are all you need to finish off this outfit.

HIKING THE HOLLYWOOD SIGN  

Even “hiking” has to be done in style when you’re as extra as me. On a real note, I am obsessed with exercise dresses recently. They are so easy to slip on and go in + they are crazy comfortable. Not to mention, you instantly look like the best dressed one. My go-to sneakers for actual physical activity, not just leisure, are the Adidas ZX Boosts. I’ve linked them below—I have the mens and just went down two sizes!

FAB IN FLORAL

These boots were too good, I just had to break them out again. This palm-tree-lined street was the perfect photo op ever. My green dress is a towel-like material that absorbs sweat and is super soft. The ruched detailing along the center accentuates your curves making your waist look extra tiny and your booty pop. I’m obsessed!

My friend Jules ended up wearing this exact outfit to the Santa Monica pier and everyone loved it.

DINNER + DRINKS

Had to break those straight-leg jeans out again. They were the perfect “elevated” denim for dinner with the girls. It was a bit chillier for our outdoor dining situation so a long sleeve was a must. Of course, mine was still cropped lol. This top is a jersey material that’s so stretchy + comfy. It made my boobs look amazing + it comes in a bunch of different colors. I know my friends will be borrowing this for a night out at school too!

FROLICKING THE FARMERS MARKET  

Off to the farmers market for a wholesome Sunday morning in this adorable knit dress from Showpo. They have so many cool pieces right now and really killed it with this. It’s a light sweater material with buttons along the left leg and a high neckline. It hugged my curves just enough and was the perfect weight for the California temperatures.

I wanted to keep things a little more “fall”, or at least try to so I slipped into tan mules. Of course, no outfit of mine if complete without that Lack of Colors hat! It’s truly my saving grace for every incomplete outfit.

POPS OF PINK  

The heart boots make one more appearance for a last-minute outfit photo! Keeping things very simple since these shoes obviously already speak for themself. This white mini dress is perfect for just about any occasion and could easily be layered with a cardigan over top or a turtleneck underneath.

LOVING THE LEATHER  

I wore this outfit for our “last supper” in California and sadly didn’t get any good photos in it. Leather pants have been dominating my mood boards + Pinterest feeds so I finally got my hands on a pair. I love the straight leg fit of these + the chocolate brown is so on-trend.

As I said, it was a bit brisk at night so a  long sleeve bodysuit tucked into these bottoms was a must. This top is another Express Body Contour piece and is the best. Layering on gold necklaces and a cute chain belt to spice this look up.

Phew, twenty outfits! I can’t believe I was able to photograph so many looks throughout my trip but am so glad I was able to make it happen. These were some of my favorite outfits and I really enjoyed being pushed out of my style comfort zone to put these looks together.

I Live in California and Never Get Tired of These 5 Easy Outfit Combos

Welcome to Weekday Wardrobe , a series in which one Who What Wear editor or staffer will snap a pic of the outfits they wear from Monday to Friday. We'll break down where you can shop it all to inspire your own everyday style, no matter what's on your weekly agenda. 

I'm that person who has a closet full of clothes but always just re-wears the same outfits over and over again. At this point, whenever I get online to shop, I know to go straight to the pieces that fit the same vibe as my go-to's because that's all I'm likely to put to use. Right now, it's "winter" in Los Angeles (as in, sometimes it gets below 65°) so my tall boots, cardigans, long-sleeve midi dresses, and sweats are really getting their moment to shine in my rotation. Looking for some super-chic but extremely easy-to-put-together looks that, IMO, never get old? I got you. Keep scrolling for my laid-back California 'fits that, like me, you'll want to wear on repeat.

This blazer just does it for me, and for a lot of fashion girls ( peep my co-worker Michaela rocking the same one ) for that matter. When it comes to L.A. dressing, I usually layer it over a sleeveless turtleneck tank so I don't get too hot. For a fancier day, I could pair this with tailored trousers and heels, but on this occasion, I wanted to keep it a bit more casual and hop in my favorite straight-leg jeans and my new western booties.

I can't even count on two hands the number of midi dresses I own. They're the easiest piece of clothing to style, as they require zero other garments. The puff-sleeves on this one make me feel way chicer without even trying. Today, I opted for knee-highs, but sneakers or sandals in the summer are always contenders as well. And although I'm not necessarily going anywhere, I thought this way-more-expensive-than-it-looks maroon purse just really needed to come out.

I think I've said this perhaps a million times, but I will say it again: I love neutrals. I think they're truly so easy to pair together because nothing is really off-limits. They all work! I'm very into this combo right here because both fabrics are just thick enough for a crisp morning but won't make me overheat as the day warms up.

Whether it's January or June, this is the outfit people probably see me in the most. I have several black and white tanks and tees that get put on rotation throughout the year and don't even get me started on my collection of jeans. This season, I've been very into the wide-leg fit as it's a sneaky way to feel like you're wearing PJs, without looking like it. Throw on some sunnies, a black shoulder bag, and boots, and you are instantly ready for anything. (In this case, a trip to the farmer's market.)

A matching set, especially in 2020, is a must-have for any L.A. girl's closet. I usually end the week in one because let's be honest: I'm just over it by Friday. I'm usually working in bed for most of the day with my coffee and croissant (Friday is a treat yourself kind of day, you know?), so anything sans buttons is just really nice. I'm obsessed with this particular set because not only is it comfy for lounging around, but it's 100% acceptable to wear out and about.
