A day in Bikaner desert with Jitu sir
Great experience of desert safari and nature trip with Dr. Jitu solanki. Highly recommended Best to book in advance
We went on a two-days camel safari organized by Jitu Solanki. He drove us to a village close to Deshnok and introduced us to his long-term partner Shankar who does the camel tours over there. We started around 9 or 10 in the morning and came back around 3 in the afternoon the next day. There were two boys and two camels with us, one of the camels was pulling the waggon, one of them was for riding. The two boys (one of them Shankars son) were friendly and took good care of us. They prepared four nice meals for us and prepared a warm bed under a tent in the middle of the desert for us. We went quite far which we asked for to leave the city and villages behind, nature was beautiful out there! Still I felt safe and secure. Riding the camel was fun but it was also good to have the waggon as it gets exhausting for your muscles after a while. The evening in the desert was really nice with a good dinner, a camp fire and a nicely prepared bed under a tent as it gets really cold during the nighttime. Would totally recommend this tour for people who are interested in nature and some adventures. All necessary information to prepare (what to pack) will be given to you by Jitu - so don‘t worry :-)
We did the whole day tour and absolutely loved it. In the morning we started at 7 am with the 4WD (we were picked up at our hotel) Saw a lot of animals. He explained a lot about wildlife and the eco system. In the afternoon we went for a relaxing camel ride. Very good day and i dont understand the bad review at all. Would definately recommend!
Arrived in Bikaner on election day with government buildings shut. What to do? Discovered Vinayak tours based at Vinayak Guest house. Spoke to Jittu and he arranged a personal tour of Bikaner by rickshaw followed by a jeep tour to nearby desert. He was very informative about local wildlife including plants, trees, animal life and particularly birds - hundreds of eagles, gryphon, vultures. Very reasonable prices. He is very concerned about the local environment and arranges tours for bird watchers.
