Where To Buy The Nike Air Max 1 '86 "Blue Safari"

After receiving a first look late last month, fans can now look forward to the Nike Blue Safari” Air Max 1 ’86 to drop next week. For this iconic Tinker Hatfield design, the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 combines elements from the Air Max 1 and Air Safari models, such as the “Blue Safari” print emblazoned on the mudguards.

Further constructing the silhouette is a light blue mesh base, sky blue textile overlays, and navy blue suede Swoosh logos on the profiles. The blue theme continues onto the laces, inner liner, Nike branding throughout, and the rubber outsole. Lastly, the pair is rounded off with a vintage-esque midsole housing the iconic Air Max cushioning.

Nike Air Max 1 ’86 Returns in "Blue Safari"

Featuring a “big bubble” design..

After returning this year in throwback “Sport Red” tones, the Nike Air Max 1 ‘86 has surfaced in several other colorways before now arriving once again in “Blue Safari.”

The ‘86 iteration features a special “Big Bubble” which existed in the original production run before the AM1 made its official debut in 1987. Upcoming pairs are found in “Diffused Blue” hues across the suede and mesh uppers. “Safari” prints taking inspiration from an ostrich skin couch that legendary footwear designer Tinker Hatfield came across at a furniture store are featured on the wraparound mudguards, Handwritten “AIR” bubble text appears on the pre-yellowed midsoles above the transparent Air unit, and rounding out the look are lightly treaded outsoles.

Nike’s Air Max 1 ’86 Surfaces With a ‘Blue Safari’ Print

Nike’s remastered Air Max 1 has had a quiet few months since its debut back in March. After Los Angeles’ Kids of Immigrants helped drop four additional colorways, which saw a small secondary release early this month, we have been anxiously awaiting more styles of the ‘Big Bubble’ model. This week brings us a first look at a new ‘Blue Safari’ pair, which remixes the silhouette with new materials and patterns. The look features a pale grey mesh base, adding light blue canvas for the shoe’s midfoot and heel overlays. The mudguard comes in a printed Safari leather, featuring two shades of blue to achieve the desired contrast, matching the navy blue Swooshes and outsoles. Finally, a simple AIR logo is printed on the outer heels.

Nike has not announced any more releases for their remastered Air Max 1 ’86 yet, though we hope to see more pairs launch before the end of 2023. Dubbed the ‘Lost Sketch’ in their official channels, this pair brings to life one of Tinker’s original sketches of the silhouette, complete with the Safari print mudguard. Pairs will be available via the SNKRS app and select retailers like Bodega for $170.

The coveted Air Max 1 ’86 Big Bubble adds yet another style to the roster since Air Max Day 2023. This time, it’s bringing the iconic “Safari” rendition. Official images of the upcoming Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Blue Safari” emerge ahead of its 16th June 2023 launch date. Also dubbed “Lost Sketch”, this rendition boasts a handwritten AIR lettering above the big bubble as a nod to the ’86 prototype.

The Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Blue Safari” features a grey mesh underlay with light blue textile overlays on the midfoot and heel. Safari prints on the suede mudguard resemble the iconic atmos x Nike Air Max 1 “Safari” from 2001.

Nike Air Max branding adorns the tongue, heel, and sockliner in blue. Grey laces blend well with the tongue and mesh upper.

Yellowish PU foam midsoles bring vintage reimagined aesthetics to the OG Air Max design.

The big bubble boasts four visible windows for more cushioning. This rendition has a handwritten AIR label as a nod to the first sketch of the AM1.

The iconic waffle sole designed by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman concludes the classic makeover.

The Air Max 1 ’86 BLue edition retains all the features that have made the silhouette a beloved classic. Original article: (Updated on 12th June 2023) With all the previewed Air Max 1 ’86 pairs yet to release, Nike adds another one to the roster! 2023 is shaping up to be truly a special year for the Air Max 1 as the success of the Big Bubble extends to these new colourways. We now have a first look at the upcoming Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Blue Safari”, putting yet another twist to the iconic Safari collection.

We have no other details regarding an official release date but stay tuned for more release information in the coming months. In the meantime, let’s check out the photo below courtesy of @baynekicks_420.

The shoe features a light grey mesh base with light blue canvas midfoot and heel overlays. Midnight navy tones comprise the suede Swoosh to complement the navy inner lining. Safari prints appear on the leather mudguard. The laces also come in grey for harmonious colour blocking.

Adding a vintage aesthetic to the shoe is the yellowish PU foam midsole. The large heel Air unit fulfils the Big Bubble rendition.

Just like all Big Bubble pairs, the shoe will also come in an aged black shoe box with red scratches all over.

[Update 30 May 2023] A new image of the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 PRM “Big Safari” have emerged. A firm release date hasn’t been disclosed but the rumor mill has them projected for June 2023. If there’s any veracity to it, then more details should emerge within the coming weeks. Stay tuned!

Air Max Day 2023 came and went, but the Big Bubble is here to stay. Shortly after Kids of Immigrants presented four different colorways as well as a rumored “Royal Blue” set to drop next year, the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 is now set to arrive in a “Blue Safari” makeup.

The Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Blue Safari”, as stipulated by the ’86 tag, features the OG Big Bubble which returned with the Air Max 1 “Big Bubble Red” during Air Max Day. However, the upcoming sneaker flips the script by utilising Diffused Blue throughout its upper.

The latest offering also features another of Tinker Hatfield’s innovative designs, the now-iconic Safari print, which adorns the mudguard. An in-vogue vintage-treated sole unit appears underfoot, while a handwritten-like “AIR” text can be found right above the visible air unit.

Elements from an early sketch of the runner worked into a new retro colorway.

The 'Big Bubble' version of the Nike Air Max 1 continues to roll out in new colorways, the latest a throwback to the model's origins.

As mentioned in our January report , this Air Max 1 '86 is inspired by an early sketch of the model by designer Tinker Hatfield. Light blue textiles are layered over a light grey mesh on the upper, with a blue safari-printed mudguard wrapped around the shoe's base. Below sits a pre-yellowed midsole that bears 'AIR' lettering mimicking Hatfield's hand-drawn sketch.

The "First Sketch" Air Max 1 '86 will release this summer for $170. Keep an eye out for release date updates and official imagery in the months ahead.

The Nike Air Max Sunder Gore-Tex Debuts This Holiday Season

One of the more celebrated announcements of last years’ SNKRS showcase , the Nike Air Max Sunder made another appearance at the Holiday 2024 sequel. Three new colorways of the shoe were unveiled, all of them bearing GORE-Tex material for the first time in the silhouette’s history.

The zipper shroud that defines the Air Max Sunder is redoubled with the addition of Gore-Tex. That closure system, an expression of 90s design language frequently seen on ACG gear of that era, imbues some “all conditions” functionality even without the subtitle. Each of the three colorways hold onto OG color-blocking, split between black & red, black & purple and “Triple Black,” the lattermost eschewing accent hues entirely for a stealthy overall outfit.

For the record, those who celebrated the return of the 1999 model in OG fashion don’t have to wait that long for the fruits of last year’s showcase. The unadulterated Air Max Sunder was on-foot for a number of the presenters, and is still set for its Fall 2024 debut in three neon formulations.

At this early stage, concrete retail pricing and release info are largely obscured, but for reference, the base model is priced at $180. Take a look at first look imagery via the gallery just ahead.

The Unique Burial of a Child of Early Scythian Time at the Cemetery of Saryg-Bulun (Tuva)

In 1988, the Tuvan Archaeological Expedition (led by M. E. Kilunovskaya and V. A. Semenov) discovered a unique burial of the early Iron Age at Saryg-Bulun in Central Tuva. There are two burial mounds of the Aldy-Bel culture dated by 7th century BC. Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.
