"Fair dinkum" — Aussie slang for "authentic" or "genuine" — Australian cuisine has been influenced by England, New Zealand and even Italy. However, there's nothing more Australian than throwing some steak and snags (sausages) on a barbie (barbecue) — no shrimps allowed.

POPULAR PUB GRUB

There are two dishes to order at an Aussie pub: a chicken parmigiana (called a parmi Down Under) or a burger, which will usually come topped with Australian specialties like beetroot or pineapple. Of course, you can always go for a classic steaks: Porterhouses are popular in Victoria, while rump steaks are particularly beloved in New South Wales.

THE REAL BISCUIT

Australia has some delicious sweet treats, but it's perhaps best-known for perfecting the biscuit. Try Anzac biscuits with oats and golden syrup, lamingtons — a sponge square covered in chocolate and coconut — and Tim Tams, the local favorite brand of chocolate-covered biscuits.

IT'S PIE TIME

Meat pies — with a flaky pastry crust baked around a savory filling of ground meat (typically beef or lamb) and spices — are a traditional Australian lunch or snack found in bakeries across the country. Another favorite is the Chiko Roll, similar to a large spring roll but filled with the signature Aussie ingredients of mutton, celery, barley, rice, carrots and spices.

During a Sydney cruise you experience the metropolitan and vibrant life in Australia . There are many places in the country that seem deserted, almost inhospitable. But in this city it's very different. In the harbour is the world famous Sydney Opera House , which is not only worth a visit for its unique design. Here there are international concerts of the highest quality held regularly. In Darling Harbour the Maritime Museum is housed and the impressive history of the Australian Maritime is shown. An attractive photo opportunity is the Harbour Bridge and if you want to spend a day at a fine sandy beach, visit Bondi Beach. 

In Brisbane you are in the capital of the state of Queensland during your Australia cruise. Stroll through the Queen Street Mall in the Central Business District and pick out something beautiful as a travel gift. For long nights, Fortitude Valley is the place to go, with so many bars and pubs in the streets.

The Great Barrier Reef is certainly one of the world's most famous highlights on the coast of Australia. The huge coral reefs are worth seeing with a trained diving instructor. If you do not want to dive, you could also try out snorkeling. You will certainly be struck by the diversity of the underwater animal world.

At the gate to the reef, your ship will dock in Cairns . Here, in the tropical North of Australia, temperatures are different than in Sydney. The landscape is characterized by dense jungles. However, keep in mind that this period can be crowded and more expensive. If you prefer milder weather and fewer crowds, consider visiting during the shoulder seasons of spring (September to November) and autumn (March to May).

In New Zealand, the best time to visit is during the Southern Hemisphere’s summer, which occurs from December to February. This is when you can enjoy pleasant temperatures, vibrant landscapes, and a wide range of outdoor activities, including hiking and water sports. International travel documents for children

Children traveling to the U.S.

All children, including infants, must have their own travel documents such as a passport or document from a Trusted Traveler Program to enter the U.S. If you travel or are going to travel with a child, consider taking the following documents:

• If the child is traveling with only one of their custodial parents, they must have a letter of consent, preferably in English and notarized, from the other parent or signed by both parents. The letter should say "I acknowledge that my son/daughter is traveling outside the country with [the name of the adult] with my permission."
• If one parent has sole custody of the child, a copy of the custody document can take the place of the other parent's letter.
• Parents who frequently cross the border by land with a minor must always carry a letter of permission from the other parent.

U.S. citizen children traveling abroad

Ports of entry in many countries have security measures to prevent international child abduction . If you are traveling alone with your child, you may be required to present documentation proving you are the parent or legal guardian. You may also need a letter of permission from the other parent for your child to travel. 

If your child travels alone, depending on the country, they may be required to present a notarized letter from both parents or their legal guardian. If a minor is traveling abroad and is not accompanied by both parents or a legal guardian, contact the embassy or consulate of the country you will be visiting and ask about entry and exit requirements for that country.
