Emerald Coast Golf Tour Kicks Off 2023 Season at Kiva Dunes Today
News staff • mar 01, 2023, notable alumni of the emerald coast tour include two-time masters champion bubba watson.
The Emerald Coast Golf Tour will begin its 2023 season at the scenic Kiva Dunes Golf Club in Gulf Shores, Alabama from March 1-3. The three-day, 54-hole event will feature professional golfers from across the country, and admission is free to all spectators.
The tournament will start with a one-day Pro-Am on March 1 at 12:30 p.m., where amateur golfers will have the chance to play alongside up-and-coming PGA stars. Each four-person team will be paired with one professional. Following the tournament, an awards presentation will take place at the Kiva Dunes Clubhouse. The festivities will also include a Thursday night party at the Hideaway Sports Bar at the Beach Club.
The Emerald Coast Tour is a developmental tour for aspiring golfers trying to earn their PGA tour card or Korn Ferry Tour card. Over 25 PGA tour winners have previously played on the tour. Hunter Stewart and Michael Hebert were declared co-champions at the inaugural Kiva Dunes Pro Classic in 2017. Hunter Stewart went on to win the event in 2018, while Doug Barron won in 2019 and later won his first event on the PGA Tour that same year. In 2021, Michael Johnson of Birmingham was crowned the champion, and former PGA Tour player Zach Sucher is the current defending champion.
The list of Emerald Coast Tour alumni includes several notable players, including Boo Weekley, Joe Durant, Heath Slocum, Craig Perks, Patton Kizzire, Jerry Kelly, Scott Parel, George McNeil, Zach Sucher, Robbie Shelton, Chase Seiffert, and two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson.
