Barbie is opening the doors to her Dreamhouse.

Ahead of Greta Gerwig ‘s highly anticipated and star-studded “Barbie” film, out this July, the entertainment company Kilburn Live and Mattel have teamed up in creating an immersive experience called “World of Barbie” that initially kicked off in Toronto and will now tour across North America through the summer. The experience opens in Los Angeles’s Santa Monica Place on Apr. 14. Tickets are available on the Fever website for $34.50.

Of course, the highlight of the experience is Barbie’s Dreamhouse, where guests will be able to explore the exquisitely designed rooms of the life-size Malibu mansion complete with a patio and pool, and walk-in closets filled with garments from decades of iconic Barbie fashion history.

The Los Angeles run will also feature special events and after-hour celebrations. Starting in late May, 21+ guests will be invited to Sips after Sunset, a recurring event with DJ-driven music and specialty cocktails, while June will see the opening of Pink Carpet Night, where guests will be encouraged to wear their most glamorous, “Barbiecore” attire for a night of live music, dancing and drinks.

Warner Bros. released the official trailer for Gerwig’s “Barbie” film last month. While plot details have been kept tightly under wraps, the film does find Barbie and Ken stuck in the real world, where the former discovers the challenges of being a live woman. Robbie stars opposite Ryan Gosling, who plays Barbie’s longtime boy toy Ken.

Along with Robbie and Gosling, the star-studded cast includes Will Ferrell, Emma Mackey, Connor Swindells, Nicola Coughlan, Emerald Fennell, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Ncuti Gatwa and Issa Rae, among many others.

“World of Barbie” debuts in Toronto this July and will stop in New York, Chicago, Dallas and other cities

Visiting Barbie's Dreamhouse is now a reality!

Barbie fans of all ages will be able to walk into a human-size version of her imaginative world at "World of Barbie," an immersive experience that celebrates everything the iconic doll's universe has to offer. Entertainment company Kilburn Live partnered with Mattel to bring Barbie's neighborhood to cities across North America as part of a tour that kicks off this summer in Toronto. The attraction will stop in New York, Chicago and Dallas with more to come.

"World of Barbie," created by entertainment company Kilburn Live and Mattel , kicks off this summer in Toronto before touring around North America, and will allow fans to walk down Barbie's neighborhood streets. Visitors can explore several immersive play sets, including a life-size version of Barbie's bubblegum pink camper van. The vehicle even includes a hammock to lounge on, bringing a signature feature of the toy campers to life.

Other event highlights include strutting down the pink carpet, which features a row of six giant doll boxes with themes like "Western" and "Fashionista" that guests can climb into to snap a photo.

The real show-stopper is Barbie's iconic dreamhouse. According to Mark Manuel, CEO of Kilburn Live, the life-size house will transport guests to Malibu.

Not only can visitors sit in Barbie's modern living room and kitchen, but they can also play outside on a patio complete with a fake pool. And, of course, fans can walk into Barbie's closet, full of her different career-themed clothing and outfits inclusive of her style over the years.

What makes "World of Barbie" stand out is that the experience is meant to be enjoyed across generations, says Manuel: "Stepping into Barbie's real life dreamhouse, being transported to Malibu, sitting down in her camper van…there's no age limit to that."

There's also an element of nostalgia in Barbie's real-life neighborhood for grown-up fans. "You also have an older generation who's going to walk through and be brought back to their childhood days," he adds.

"World of Barbie" even includes a museum that chronicles Barbie's development over the decades. Julie Freeland, Senior Director of Location-Based Entertainment at Mattel, says that part of the attraction really plays into the universal connection fans have with Barbie.

"I travel all over the world, and people have their own stories of the favorite dreamhouse they had when they were a kid or their favorite doll that they grew up with. And they pass that on to their kids," she tells PEOPLE.

Barbie's neighborhood also includes multiple play sets that are career driven — from a TV studio to a space center and fashion studio. There's even a hands-on science lab where visitors can perform experiments. The purpose of the play sets isn't just purely fun. They're meant to help young kids explore and cultivate their interests.

"Barbie has had so many firsts, and has had so many different careers," Freeland said. "We hope that they leave truly feeling inspired and feeling like [they] can do anything."

'World of Barbie' experience making US debut this spring in Los Angeles

Barbie's Dreamhouse is no longer a dream: Beginning this spring, you'll be able to step through the doors to her Malibu home and find out if life in plastic is really as fantastic as it seems. The World of Barbie, a partnership between Mattel and branded live entertainment group Kilburn Live, is an immersive experience that transports Barbie fans into Barbie's pastel pink world.

After a wildly successful run in Toronto, the World of Barbie is launching stateside. Tickets go on sale March 8 for World of Barbie's U.S. debut in the Los Angeles area at Santa Monica Place on April 14.

While there, you can lounge in Barbie's perfectly decorated living room and walk the pink carpet; you can also try on some of Barbie's fashionable personalities by stepping into life-size doll boxes with themes like "Western" and "fashionista." Outside, you can lounge on Barbie's patio and splash in the pool.

It is plastic, so no diving is allowed.

Not only will you be able to walk through Barbie's home, but you'll also have a chance to tour her very pink camper van and explore areas themed to a few of Barbie's many careers — including newscaster, lab scientist and astronaut. You can enjoy snacks from a Barbie-themed cafe and visit a museum that chronicles Barbie's history and evolution.

Special events will occur throughout World of Barbie's Los Angeles run. For instance, on Pink Carpet Night, guests are encouraged to don their best pink outfits. They can also enjoy Movie Days with Barbie animated films as well as Sips After Sunset nights with live music and themed cocktails.

The photo opportunities are endless, but World of Barbie's creators hope visitors come away with more than selfies.

Their goal is for kids to be inspired to dream big like Barbie — the only doll in history who has held down simultaneous careers as a pilot and a rock star and managed to look flawless doing both. Adults who grew up with Barbie can reminisce about the doll they've loved since childhood and admire how she has evolved throughout the years.

Tickets for Los Angeles World of Barbie dates start at $34 for adults and $26 for children. On the World of Barbie website, you can sign up for exclusive access to advance ticket sales and be the first to know if Barbie packs up her pink suitcase for a visit to your town.

When is the World of Barbie?

Mattel partnered with Kilburn Live to bring the immersive World of Barbie to fans of all ages.

The Barbie dream house will be a main focal point and was first created in 1962.

The immersive experience is now providing individuals of all ages with the opportunity to step into their childhood playset.

Kilburn CEO Mark Manuel said in a press release to the US Sun, “We were asked to bring Barbie’s playset to life. Who can say no to that opportunity?

“Barbie is as relevant today as she was when she was first introduced to the world 63 years ago, if not more.

Other features will include a lifesize version of Barbie's pink camper van, patio, and a fake swimming pool.

The tour will kick off in Toronto , Ontario in July 2022 and People reported Barbie's dream house will travel to New York , Houston, Texas , Los Angeles, California, Chicago , Illinois , and more.

More locations are expected to come but tour dates have not yet been released.

The Barbie dream house will provide a sense of nostalgia for fans who grew up with the playset and will bring back memories of their childhood, the CEO of Kilburn Live, Mark Manuel told People .

For younger Barbie fans, Manuel said this is an opportunity for people of all ages to immerse themselves in Barbie's world.

"Stepping into Barbie's real-life dream house, being transported to Malibu, sitting down in her camper van…there's no age limit to that," Manuel said.

"You also have an older generation who's going to walk through and be brought back to their childhood days," he added.

Barbie's dream house came during a time when women didn't have many rights but promoted a doll who had a career and her own home.

 “Throughout her history and numerous careers, Barbie has represented a world of limitless potential,” Julie Freeland, Senior Director of Location Based Entertainment at Mattel said in a press release to the US Sun.

“With this exquisitely designed attraction, we were intentional about delivering an exciting experience that would leave younger fans with the sense that they could do anything or be anything.

"And, for those who grew up with Barbie, we wanted to spark a little bit of nostalgia, give these fans a chance to step back, re-invent themselves, if only for an afternoon, and spend a day in the Dream Life!”

What attractions will be at the World of Barbie?

The press release says the following attractions will be included in the World of Barbie immersive experience:

• Barbie Dreamhouse – Visitors will be able to explore the designed rooms of the Barbie Dreamhouse, complete with a patio party and a DJ kit to mix music at the side of Barbie's pool.
• Barbie Camper Van – The life-size van will be parked in front of the dreamhouse and will allow guests to sit in the driver's seat and relax in Barbie's life-size hammock.
• Fashion Studio – Guests will be able to walk Barbie's pink carpet and pose inside of one of the six life-size Barbie boxes.
• TV Studio – Visitors can step onto the set of The Barbie Show and deliver headlines, give the weather report, or interview other guests.
• Space Center – Visitors will be able to board Barbie's space shuttle to interact with mission control and track objects on radar.

The venue is located within Santa Monica Place that features a parking structure with ample Parking. World of Barbie does not validate any parking ticket and is not responsible for anything that happens outside the event.

The parking of the Santa Monica Place offers two parking places: Structure 7 and Structure 8 that operate 24 hours daily. The first 90 minutes are free. $2.00 for the next hour and between $2.00-3.00 for each additional 30 minutes. $20.00 daily maximum on weekdays and $25.00 daily maximum on weekends. The first two levels in all structures will be dedicated to 3 hour parking only. All-day parking is available on all upper levels.

Barbie fans across the United States and Canada can be a Barbie girl in a Barbie world when they step into a new immersive attraction starting this summer, organizers shared with Travel + Leisure .

The World of Barbie attraction , which will first launch in Toronto , will allow Barbie fans to walk right into the iconic Malibu Dreamhouse — complete with a pink carpet, a terrazzo-inspired fireplace, and a giant outdoor boombox — as well as hang out in a life-sized Camper Van and visit several other interactive rooms in Barbie's neighborhood.

"With this exquisitely designed attraction we were intentional about delivering an exciting experience that would leave younger fans with the sense that they could do anything or be anything," Julie Freeland, the senior director of location-based entertainment at Mattel, said in a statement provided to T+L. After leaving Toronto, the World Of Barbie will head to several cities across the U.S. like New York , Chicago , Houston , and Los Angeles , according to entertainment company Kilburn Live, which is partnering with Mattel, Inc. to bring the attraction to life.

Visitors will also be able to imagine what it's like to be Barbie thanks to six oversized iconic Barbie boxes (after all, life in plastic, it's fantastic). The boxes include a travel theme with binoculars, a compass, and a map of the world; as well as a red carpet theme with Oscar award cutouts, a fabulous gown, and a velvet rope.

And for those who hate being grounded, Barbie's space shuttle is ready to bring travelers up, up and away where they can "interact" with mission control, track objects on radar, and even listen to the sounds of space.

In addition to the endless Instagram opportunities, the attraction will feature a Barbie café where visitors will be able to grab a bite to eat.

"Barbie is as relevant today as she was when she was first introduced to the world 63 years ago, if not more," Kilburn CEO Mark Manuel said in the statement. "I watched my daughter live and play in her world, I believe it helped shape her sharp and lively imagination, just like it has for millions of other children growing up. So there were a lot of reasons we needed to get this right."

Tickets for the Toronto attraction go on sale online on May 21.

LA-based events company Kilburn Live and toyco Mattel are partnering to launch a new interactive exhibition that will bring Barbie’s historic playsets and vehicles to life.

The World of Barbie North American tour launches this summer in Toronto, before travelling to US cities including New York, Chicago, Houston and LA in 2023. Tickets for the Toronto exhibition will go on sale May 21, with advance ticket registration opening today.

World of Barbie is designed to let guests of all ages interact with environments inspired by Barbie’s playsets. As part of the event experience, they can do things like host a party at the Dreamhouse and find hidden surprises in Barbie’s life-size camper van.

The exhibition will also have attractions focused on the many careers of Barbie, who has worked as a news anchor, a fashion model and an astronaut over the decades.

A Barbie-themed café will be available on-site for guests to purchase snacks and drinks and see how the doll brand has evolved.

Kilburn Live has previously partnered with companies such as Hasbro and Dr. Seuss Enterprises to create live entertainment attractions including  The Dr. Seuss Adventure  and  NERF Challenge .

The company’s first arcade gaming attraction, The Game Room: Powered By Hasbro , will open later this year at the American Dream retail complex in New Jersey.

‘The World of Barbie’ immersive experience to tour this summer

(CNN) - A new immersive experience will let you tour Barbie’s iconic Malibu Dreamhouse.

The attraction, called “The World of Barbie,” will let visitors explore a life-size version of her living room, kitchen and walk-in closet full of clothes.

Fans will also get the chance to sit in Barbie’s pink camper and walk around several playsets, including Barbie’s neighborhood.

The attraction also includes a museum that chronicles how Barbie has changed since her debut by Mattel in 1959.

Mattel is teaming up with entertainment company Kilburn Live to create the experience.

“The World of Barbie” will tour several cities this summer, including New York, Chicago, Dallas and Toronto, where it kicks off in July.

MATTEL is bringing Barbie's dream house to cities throughout North America in an immersive experience.

Those wishing to visit the dream house will be able to walk through and stroll down the streets of Barbie's neighborhood.

When is the World of Barbie?

Mattel partnered with Kilburn Live to bring the immersive World of Barbie to fans of all ages.

The Barbie dream house will be a main focal point and was first created in 1962.

The immersive experience is now providing individuals of all ages with the opportunity to step into their childhood playset.

Kilburn CEO Mark Manuel said in a press release to the US Sun, “We were asked to bring Barbie’s playset to life. Who can say no to that opportunity?

“Barbie is as relevant today as she was when she was first introduced to the world 63 years ago, if not more.

"I watched my daughter live and play in her world, I believe it helped shape her sharp and lively imagination, just like it has for millions of other children growing up. So there were a lot of reasons we needed to get this right.”

Other features will include a lifesize version of Barbie's pink camper van, patio, and a fake swimming pool.

The tour will kick off in Toronto, Ontario in July 2022 and People reported Barbie's dream house will travel to New York, Houston, Texas, Los Angeles, California, Chicago, Illinois, and more.

More locations are expected to come but tour dates have not yet been released.

The Barbie dream house will provide a sense of nostalgia for fans who grew up with the playset and will bring back memories of their childhood, the CEO of Kilburn Live, Mark Manuel told People .

For younger Barbie fans, Manuel said this is an opportunity for people of all ages to immerse themselves in Barbie's world.

"Stepping into Barbie's real-life dream house, being transported to Malibu, sitting down in her camper van…there's no age limit to that," Manuel said.

"You also have an older generation who's going to walk through and be brought back to their childhood days," he added.

Barbie's dream house came during a time when women didn't have many rights but promoted a doll who had a career and her own home.

 “Throughout her history and numerous careers, Barbie has represented a world of limitless potential,” Julie Freeland, Senior Director of Location Based Entertainment at Mattel said in a press release to the US Sun.

“With this exquisitely designed attraction, we were intentional about delivering an exciting experience that would leave younger fans with the sense that they could do anything or be anything.

"And, for those who grew up with Barbie, we wanted to spark a little bit of nostalgia, give these fans a chance to step back, re-invent themselves, if only for an afternoon, and spend a day in the Dream Life!”

What attractions will be at the World of Barbie?

The press release says the following attractions will be included in the World of Barbie immersive experience:

• Barbie Dreamhouse – Visitors will be able to explore the designed rooms of the Barbie Dreamhouse, complete with a patio party and a DJ kit to mix music at the side of Barbie's pool.
• Barbie Camper Van – The life-size van will be parked in front of the dreamhouse and will allow guests to sit in the driver's seat and relax in Barbie's life-size hammock.
• Fashion Studio – Guests will be able to walk Barbie's pink carpet and pose inside of one of the six life-size Barbie boxes.
• TV Studio – Visitors can step onto the set of The Barbie Show and deliver headlines, give the weather report, or interview other guests.
• Space Center – Visitors will be able to board Barbie's space shuttle to interact with mission control and track objects on radar.

The barbie press tour continues with an architectural digest tour of the dream house courtesy margot robbie.

The Barbie press tour is the gift that keeps on giving and giving and giving . Just when you think they can’t possibly slay any harder, Margot Robbie is giving an Architectural Digest tour of the Barbie Dream House. Has any film understood its audience better, and marketed so completely effectively?

Well, who cares about other movies— we’re in Barbie lockdown. And what a delight it would be to be locked in the Barbie Dreamhouse, where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts. (Literally!) The new AD video is in part a genuine tour led by Robbie, pointing out her favorite things about her perfect pink plastic set. At the top of the list is the swirly slide down to the fake pool (there is no water in Barbie Land—or any other element for that matter—but the pool is gorgeous nonetheless).

Other notable features include the kitchen stocked partially with “real” tools and partially with flat decals à la a genuine Barbie toy, and a magical wardrobe meant to rival cinema’s previous pinnacle of the genre ( Clueless , natch). Best of all, the Barbie houses are all see-through so all the Barbies can wave at each other and call out their good-nights every day. There is a true sense of community in Barbie Land!

The other part of the video is behind-the-scenes nitty gritty from director Greta Gerwig, production designer Sarah Greenwood, and set designer Katie Spencer. A lot of thought and research went into designing Barbie Land, which is evident from the set’s timeless, artificial beauty. NEW YORK — Weekend number two was just as joyous for “Inside Out 2.”

The Pixar sequel collected $100 million in ticket sales in its second weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday, setting a new record for an animated movie in its follow-up frame in theaters.

The previous best second weekend for an animated title was the $92 million for “The Super Mario Bros. Movie.” Only six movies ever have had better second weekends.

In just a week and a half, “Inside Out 2” has become 2024’s highest-grossing film to date with $724.4 million globally, including $355.2 million in US and Canadian theaters.

That passes the $711.8 million worldwide total of “Dune: Part Two.” “Inside Out 2” will likely blow through the $1 billion mark in about a week, which would make it the first film since “Barbie” to do so.

The extent of the “Inside Out 2” success startled Hollywood, which had grown accustomed to lower expectations as the film industry watched ticket sales this year slump about 40% below pre-pandemic totals, according to data firm Comscore, before “Inside Out 2” came along.

The record haul for “Inside Out 2,” though, recalled past years when $1 billion grosses were more commonplace for the Walt Disney Co.

It is also a much-needed blockbuster for Pixar, which after experimenting with direct-to-streaming releases, reconsidered its movie pipeline and approach to mass-audience appeal.

Now, “Inside Out 2,” which dipped a mere 35% from its $154 million domestic debut, is poised to challenge “The Incredibles 2” ($1.2 billion) for the all-time top grossing Pixar release.

It could also steer the venerated animation factory toward more sequels. Among its upcoming films is “Toy Story 5,” due out in 2026.

For theater owners, “Inside Out 2” could hardly have been more needed. But it also reminded exhibitors of how feast-or-famine the movie business has become in recent years.

Since the pandemic, movies like “Barbie,” “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “Top Gun: Maverick” have pushed ticket sales to record heights, but fallow periods in between box-office sensations have grown longer.

Ticket sales over Memorial Day last month were the worst in three decades.

Some of 2024’s downturn can be attributed to release-schedule juggling caused by last year’s writers and actors strikes.

The biggest new release over the weekend was Jeff Nichols’ motorcycle gang drama “The Bikeriders,”  a film originally slated to open in 2023 before the actors strike prompted its postponement.

“The Bikeriders,” starring Jodie Comer, Austin Butler and Tom Hardy, came in on the high side of expectations with $10 million from 2,642 venues in its opening weekend.

“The Bikeriders,” which cost about $35 million to produce, was originally to be released by Disney before New Regency took it to Focus Features last fall.

The strong business for “Inside Out 2” appeared to raise ticket sales generally. Sony Pictures’ “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” held well in its third week of release, collecting $18.8 million. It remained in second place.

The “Bad Boys” sequel, starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, has grossed $146.9 million domestically thus far.

Next week, the sci-fi horror prequel “A Quiet Place: Day One” and Kevin Costner’s Western epic “Horizon: An American Saga — Chapter 1″ will hope some of the “Inside Out 2” success rubs off on them.

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at US and Canadian theaters, according to Comscore. Final domestic figures will be released Monday.

The Yuri A. Gagarin State Scientific Research-and-Testing Cosmonaut Training Center is a Russian training facility responsible for training cosmonauts for their space missions. The secret Star City was built to train Soviet cosmonauts, including Yuri Gagarin, the 1st man in space. Many other famous Russian cosmonauts trained here with Gagarin: German Titov, Valentina Tereshkova, the first female cosmonaut, and Alexei Leonov, the first cosmonaut to exit the spaceship into space . The best facilities were built for them: the world’s largest centrifuge and hydro laboratory. Taylor Swift is coming back to Arizona.

Wait, wait, settle down. The cultural phenomenon that was Swift’s Eras Tour is currently conquering the rest of the world. But if you couldn’t (or wouldn’t mortgage your house to buy tickets) see Swift’s show, you’ll get your chance soon.

Swift kicked off her massive worldwide tour on March 17 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, the first of two shows at the venue, and has been a massive critical and financial success. Analysts say it could gross as much as $2.2 billion in North American ticket sales alone. Now she can add movie ticket sales to her bank account.

“Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour” is coming to theaters nationwide on Oct. 13. Swift announced the release of the film on X, formerly Twitter.

What's the Eras Tour documentary Netflix release date?

There is no Netflix release date for the film. But you can always watch "Miss Americana," a 2020 Netflix documentary about Swift, on the platform.

As with all things Swift, demand immediately began to outpace supply for “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour.” A visit to the AMC Theatres site found a homepage announcement with a timer telling you how long the wait is to buy tickets to the Swift movie.

“Thank you for your patience as we experience high traffic volume,” it says. “We have proactively created this queue for all visitors. When it is your turn, you will have 10 minutes to begin your TAYLOR SWIFT I THE ERAS TOUR Concert Film ticket purchase or other online visit.”

And if you wanted tickets for, say, “ Bottoms ?” Get in line.

“To purchase tickets today for movies that are now playing, please visit an AMC Theatre near you or check back later,” the site said.
