Seether, Sick Puppies, Kyng + Young Guns Bring ‘Triple Threat Tour’ to Boston

triple threat tour

Whoever said that good things come in threes was obviously referring to the pack of trios that provide the core lineup of the ‘Triple Threat’ Tour. Headlined by the trio  Seether  with support by fellow three-piece acts  Sick Puppies and Kyng , there’s a lot to love about the number three. Of course, opening quintet  Young Guns broke the ‘three’ chain, but more of that later. Seether have quietly churned out five albums over the past decade on Wind-Up Records with their grunge infused brand of rock. Their massive collection of hits seem to sneak up on you and It’s not until you experience their live set that you realize how deep their catalog runs and the range of success they’ve had. Throughout their rock ‘n’ roll tenure they’ve impacted the genre with singles ranging from ‘Gasoline’ from 2002’s ‘Disclaimer’ all the way through to ‘Country Song’ from the trio’s latest release, 2011’s ‘Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray’ – both of which made it into the set list. Seether fans generally know what’s in store when the band hits the stage but with the ‘Triple Threat’ tour kicking off last night the band debuted their new stage set up for the headlining run. Seether have always sported imaginative sets and their latest is no different, but we encourage fans to check it out for themselves!  We can tell you this, bassist Dale Stewart hit the stage sporting a silver facemask and drummer John Humphrey’s drum kit was flanked by swanky chandeliers while the more elusive Shaun Morgan settled in behind his microphone with guitar in hand, but the rest, well, tune in to check it out. Their meaty set flew by quickly so don’t blink or it will be over before you know it. Sick Puppies have stepped away from the live stage for a bit to concentrate on their upcoming disc but they dusted off the road rust for one of the best sets of the evening providing a high-energy, interactive romp that showed what the Aussie rockers are all about. With bassist Emma Anzai’s thumping basslines to Mark Goodwin’s rhythmic lead on drums and lead vocalist, guitarist, and all around Sick Puppies ring-leader Shimon Moore instructing the audience to bounce, clap, and get to know the people around them a little better because after all “this is a sweaty rock show,” their set clocked in at 45 minutes of intense rock. Highlights of the Sick Puppies set included a first listen to a new song, at least a short instrumental piece of it. (Fans who pre-ordered the new disc were entered to win a chance to hear the whole new album with the band backstage post show!), a moving cover of the Tears For Fears tune ‘Mad World,’ and their single ‘Maybe’ from their last disc ‘Tri-Polar.’ Throughout the set Moore’s vocals were complemented beautifully by Anzai’s female touch, just another element of the band that sets them apart from the rest. Kyng provided a short but powerful set with their “new age vintage” mix of classic rock meets classic metal with influences of the 90s era of grunge thrown in for good measure – paying homage to the best of the past and molding it into their own unique sound. Their no-nonsense approach to their set allowed for the maximum allotted time for head-banging and getting caught in a groove. Their disc ‘Trampled Sun’ came out in September of last year and the trio has been riding high since. Music fans who got to the House of Blues early met Wind-Up Record’s latest signing, the UK rockers in Young Guns. The youthful group showed a lot of promise and gratitude making the most of their opportunity to play in front of the large Boston crowd. Their set was highlighted by the title track off of their disc, ‘Bones.’ Four bands over the course of one night provided a ton of rock n’ roll goodness and all with their own spin on things making for an eclectic evening of music. The ‘Triple Threat’ tour rages on through the end of October so hit it up when it rolls into your town. Check out our exclusive photos from the show below.

WWE Clash at the Castle 2024 match card, start time, predictions and how to watch

By scott rogust | 10:08 am edt.

WWE Clash at the Castle 2024

The last time WWE presented a premium live event was King and Queen of the Ring a few weeks ago. That event saw Gunther and Nia Jax get crowned King and Queen of the Ring as the winners of their respective tournaments, Cody Rhodes defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Logan Paul, and Liv Morgan defeat Becky Lynch for the Women's World Championship.

On Saturday, June 15, WWE presents its latest premium live event, Clash at the Castle. This will be the first Clash at the Castle event since the inaugural show back in 2022. Instead of Cardiff, Wales, the 2024 edition will be held in Glasgow, Scotland.

Considering this will be WWE's first premium live event ever in Scotland, there will be some "hometown flavor" on the card. Drew McIntyre is set to challenge Damien Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship. Piper Niven looks to take the WWE Women's Championship from Bayley. Finally, Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn challenge WWE Women's Tag Team champions Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill in a triple threat tag team match also involving Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark.

There are other matches set for the show, such as Cody Rhodes vs. AJ Styles in an I Quit match for the Undisputed WWE Championship and Sami Zayn vs. Chad Gable for the Intercontinental Championship.

For those wondering what time Clash at the Castle starts and how you can watch the event, we have you covered.

WWE Clash at the Castle 2024 start time

Considering Clash at the Castle is being broadcast live from Glasgow, Scotland, that means it will be airing early in the United States. The main card for Clash at the Castle is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT.

There will be a kickoff show set for 1:00 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT, which will allow fans to catch up on the storylines leading up to Clash at the Castle. There is a possibility a match could be added to the kickoff show.

WWE Clash at the Castle 2024 how to watch/live stream

  • Date: Saturday, June 15
  • Start Time: 2:00 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT (main card)
  • Location: OVO Hydro -- Glasgow, Scotland
  • Live Stream: Peacock , WWE Network (outside of the United States)

However, Peacock has a limited-time offer in which you can get a Peacock membership for a year for just $19.99. You can check it out at the Peacock link above.

Geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) define a position on the Earth’s surface. Coordinates are angular units. The canonical form of latitude and longitude representation uses degrees (°), minutes (′), and seconds (″). GPS systems widely use coordinates in degrees and decimal minutes, or in decimal degrees.

Latitude varies from −90° to 90°. The latitude of the Equator is 0°; the latitude of the South Pole is −90°; the latitude of the North Pole is 90°. Positive latitude values correspond to the geographic locations north of the Equator (abbrev. N). Negative latitude values correspond to the geographic locations south of the Equator (abbrev. S).

Longitude is counted from the prime meridian ( IERS Reference Meridian for WGS 84) and varies from −180° to 180°. Positive longitude values correspond to the geographic locations east of the prime meridian (abbrev. E). Negative longitude values correspond to the geographic locations west of the prime meridian (abbrev. W).

As Trump Rallies in the Southwest, Extreme Heat Threatens MAGA Faithful

Eleven people were treated for heat exhaustion at a recent Trump event in Phoenix. Temperatures for a rally in Las Vegas on Sunday are expected to approach 105 degrees.

  • Share full article

Former President Donald J. Trump during a campaign event in Phoenix on Thursday, when temperatures climbed to about 110 degrees.

By Michael Gold

  • June 8, 2024

Political campaigns do their best to control as much as possible: their candidate, their messaging, their surrogates and their schedules. But what to do about the weather?

This week, with former President Donald J. Trump holding campaign events in the Southwest, his team is grappling with an extreme heat wave that has threatened the health of some of his most ardent fans.

On Thursday, Mr. Trump went to Phoenix for a campaign event at a megachurch, where hopeful attendees waited for hours to enter as the temperature climbed above 110 degrees. The heat was so scorching that some of those waiting collapsed, and 11 people were taken to hospitals to be treated for heat exhaustion.

The Trump campaign is taking steps to avoid similar circumstances on Sunday, when Mr. Trump is scheduled to speak at an outdoor rally at noon at a park in Las Vegas. Forecasts expect the temperature to be around 105 degrees.

Much of the western United States has been contending with a heat wave all week. Both Phoenix and Las Vegas have been under an excessive heat warning for days, with afternoon temperatures hovering in the triple digits.

And the temperatures have been historic: Phoenix peaked at 113 degrees on Thursday, and Las Vegas at 111, both daily records for those cities.

Still, Mr. Trump’s rally in Phoenix was inside, and those who made it in could expect relief — and air conditioning — that may be harder to find at his outdoor event in Nevada.

The Weather Service’s excessive heat warning in Las Vegas is set to expire at 9 p.m. on Saturday, the night before Mr. Trump’s rally. But temperatures are currently expected to hit a high of 104 on Sunday with little cloud cover.

Supporters eager to attend a Trump event will generally arrive hours before the candidate does, standing in long, slow-moving lines to get through security screenings and secure a good vantage point. The wait can be trying in normal circumstances.

The Trump campaign said it will have thousands of bottles of water on hand in Las Vegas to offer to people in line and to those already inside the security perimeter. It will put up tents around the park so that people can get out of the sun, and there will be at least one tent with air-conditioning.

Campaign staff will set up a number of misting fans to help cool off attendees. And though the Secret Service and security officials sometimes confiscate umbrellas over concern that they could be used as weapons, the Trump campaign said it would allow small ones at Sunday’s event to help provide shade.

Mr. Trump may contend with similar issues throughout the summer. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s seasonal outlook predicts above normal temperatures for the next three months in most of the United States.

Periods of extreme heat have grown more frequent , longer and more intense as climate change has warmed the planet.

Mr. Trump has downplayed the threat of climate change, saying in an interview this week with Sean Hannity on Fox News that “the only global warming that matters to me is nuclear global warming, because that’s the real deal.” And he mocked President Biden as being overly concerned about climate change, and for calling it an existential threat.

Still, Mr. Trump is no stranger to holding rallies in extreme weather or canceling them because conditions are too dangerous.

Earlier this year, as a blizzard swept into Iowa the week before its caucuses, Mr. Trump canceled all but one rally, citing the potential for severe weather.

At the one event he did hold, attendees braved subzero temperatures and extreme wind chills to wait in line. The campaign provided three heated coach buses where those waiting could warm up.

In April, Mr. Trump canceled a rally on an airport tarmac in North Carolina out of safety concerns as severe thunderstorms approached.

Donald Trump told a group of America’s most powerful executives that he intended to cut the corporate tax rate  to 20% from 21%. Elsewhere, in a closed-door meeting with G.O.P. House members, Trump disparaged the city where his party’s convention will be held .

As he considers his vice-presidential pick, Trump has sought advice on key factors , including who will match up best on the debate stage against Vice President Kamala Harris.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said that he would cut military spending by half  by the end of his first term as president, finding support for his blend of populist economic rhetoric, isolationist foreign policy leanings  and government skepticism.

The movie mogul Jeffrey Katzenberg, Biden’s secret weapon against Trump, always sought scary villains in his films. Now he has found what he considers a real-life one in Trump .

Exhausted and Underwhelmed : The Grand Rapids area helped deliver Michigan to Trump in 2016 and Biden four years later. Many voters long for new options .
