Nail cutting

Do you find it difficult to get down to your feet to cut your toenails? You are not alone! Let us take that difficulty away. We are also in a very good position to identify any other issues you might not have been able to see.

• Corns and callus removal

Corns and callus can be painful and may adversely affect your walking pattern. Once they are removed, you will be walking comfortably again.

• Ingrown toenail

In the vast majority of cases, ingrown nails can be removed cleanly and effectively without the need for surgery. Clients describe the immediate relief from pain as “like magic”.

• Fungal Nails

Fungal nails are often accompanied by thickened nails. We thin out the nail plate and use a topical anti-fungal remedy, which is effective.

• Diabetic foot care

You need to take regular and particular care of your feet if you are diabetic. We assess circulation, using a doppler, and sensitisation as part of the treatment for diabetic clients so you have peace of mind that your feet are not at risk.

Custom insoles

We examine your posture, gait and the degrees of movement in key bones of the foot and prescribe custom insoles that will help you walk better.

Foot measuring & shoe fitting

As a member of the Society of Shoe Fitters we are firm believers in finding the right shoe for your foot. We will also find the right shoe to accommodate your insole, optimising the effectiveness of your gait.

I am a fully qualified Podiatrist (chiropodist) currently working in the NHS alongside my own private practice, offering both clinic-based appointments as well as a mobile service in the local area. 

I believe every patient is unique and delivering excellent care and helping you throughout your footcare journey are part of my core values.

From routine check-ups to complex treatments, I offer a full range of services to meet your podiatric needs. The conditions I can help you with include, but are not limited to: diabetic foot care, heel pain, ingrown toenails, fungal infections, warts, and sports-related injuries. Berkhamsted

The clinic is based above HH Dickman Chemist, 224 High Street, Berkhamsted, HP4 1BB. It is a clinical space that has been designed to a high standard with a clean, professional, and inviting feel. The clinic is only accessible via the stairs from the High Street entrance. ​

You will be able to reach the premises via all public transport. There is on-street parking available and the closest car park is Berkhamsted Station Car Park that just a 3 minute walk away.

Located just off the high street this is a recently renovated clinic with a modern clean design. At the clinic you will find a wide range of medical and non-medical healthcare services including, but not limited to: podiatry, reflexology, private GP, cardiology, physiotherapy, osteopathy. ​

The clinic is easily accessible by all public transport including The London underground and on-street parking is available.

Routine Care   £50 

During the routine care appointment, the nails and skin are treated according to your needs to leave you with a smooth skin and pain free feet. This appointment is for you if you are unable to self-care or simply want to leave it to the expert. 

Nail Surgery   £400 

Ingrown toenails are a common problem, especially in teenagers and young adults. The toenail curves into the toe causing discomfort and, if the skin is pierced by the nail, it can become infected and appear red, swollen and painful.   

Cryotherapy   £60 

Cryotherapy is a controlled freeze of the skin causing local tissue damage, with the aim of destroying the verruca or wart, both by cellular damage and an immune reaction post treatment. 

Verrutop   £60 

Verrutop is a quick and painless topical treatment, easy to apply and, does not require any aftercare. It dries up the verruca tissue, which then falls off the skin leaving intact skin underneath.  

Mobile Podiatry   £60 

The home visit service is tailored to patients of all ages, housebound patients and those with any illnesses such as diabetes, arthritis, mobility and visual impairments.   

Podiatry MOT  £100

This type of appointment is for you if you suffer with a chronic condition such as diabetes, any rheumatoid condition, vascular disease, neuropathy or sports injuries.

Your medical history will be taken.

You will be asked for an up to date copy of your prescription list, or a list of medications you currently take.

Your circulation will be assessed by the podiatrist with a doppler. 

Your feeling/sensation will be checked with the monofilament.

Once the above assessment has been completed, your footcare needs will be assessed then treated as required.

The Podiatrist will advise which follow up appointment would best suit your needs.

Your medical history and medication will be reviewed.

Your circulation will be assessed with the Doppler.

Your Sensation will be assessed.

Your feet will be categorised as being low, moderate or high risk.

It’s essential that we all take good care of our feet in later life. It lowers our risk of having a fall and reduces our risk of infection, as well as relieving pain. Age UK’s foot care services help older people who are unable to look after their feet.

Basic foot care services

Over 80 local Age UKs have trained workers who will provide a basic level of foot care, such as toenail cutting, and can offer general guidance on how to take the best care of your feet.

Podiatry services

In areas with a qualified podiatrist, Age UK can offer a more enhanced service such as treating verrucas, athlete’s foot and bunions. If this service is unavailable, they may be able to signpost you to an NHS podiatrist.

This service can be accessed in a number of places:

• At an Age UK foot care clinic
• At home, if you are housebound
• At one of our day centres 

Contact your local Age UK to book an appointment and to find out more about what care it provides. There may be a charge for the service depending on where you live.

Exceptions from using our foot care service

Please note that you may not be eligible to access these services or may require a more specialised service if you have diabetes or are taking certain medications such as warfarin.

Check with your local Age UK if you are unsure if you are eligible.

Our services are often covered with little or no cost to you.  If you are uninsured but still require at-home treatment, we offer affordable payment options to get you the care you need.  

New Patient Appointments - Same Week

We are committed to offering you fast, reliable service.  A new patient appointment is made within one week of calling our office.  If a visit is needed sooner, same or next day appointments are often possible
