We went to see Rammstein's stadium show and it blew our tiny minds

We went to check out Rammstein's show at Stadium MK and were met with unbelievable pyro, an exploding baby and the best stage show in modern metal

Rammstein MK Stadium set

When Team Hammer piled into Milton Keynes' Stadium MK for the latest date in Rammstein 's stadium tour, we expected it to be epic. But we didn't expect it to be quite this epic.

Packed to the brim with fans (every date in Rammstein's 2019 stadium tour quickly sold out; their 2020 stadium dates aren't far behind), we were treated to a performance that could only have come from the most innovative and fearless minds in modern metal.

Here are the things we learned.

It was easily the best metal show a stadium has ever seen

From the towering, industrial nightmare of a set to the endless jets of flame, plumes of black smoke, stunning light show and, yes, confetti, this was a show for the ages – Rammstein planting their flag loudly and once again confirming themselves as the biggest and best show in rock music. Twenty five years in and the Teutonic titans are inexplicably still raising their own bar.

The staging is from another planet

Rammstein's staging is something else. Have you ever seen a stage set that was actually bigger than the stadium it was in? You have now.

As you approach Stadium MK, two huge metallic fins are visible rising from the bowels of the arena, and once inside it feels like you're inside some sort of vast alien amphitheatre. It's the kind of construction special effects wizards spend thousands of hours constructing from CGI, but it's real, and you're in the middle. It's part Mad Max, part oil rig, part Mutoid Waste Company summer BBQ.

Rammstein Stadium MK show

Did somebody mention pyrotechnics?

During Sonne , it feels like you're standing in the middle of burning oil fields. Flames belch into the sky with a degree of ferocity that make you question not only your own safety but the sanity of whoever put this thing together. Add that to the acrid black smoke that curls into the sky, the cauldron, the canon and the colossal pram, and you're left with a show that batters the senses and blows the mind. It's literally staggering.

Hello old friend 😍#rammstein were unreal. 8th time seeing them and they never fail to suprise or deliver. pic.twitter.com/Axo8S8CY2R July 7, 2019

But not all pyro is good pyro

As we stand amid the plumes of acrid smoke on this particularly warm evening, we can't help but wonder about the junk being pumped into the air above Milton Keynes. Rammstein have made their name from their eyebrow-singeing stage shows, and it is admittedly spectacular, but pyro spews metal particles, dangerous toxins, harmful chemicals and smoke into the environment, and being only 40-or-so miles away from London – a city which has recently amped up its congestion charge because its air pollution is criminally bad – we're vaguely surprised Extinction Rebellion haven't set up camp outside.

Rammstein are smart

Two examples: before the show kicks off, a sombre voice tells the crowd that the band would really prefer it if no one filmed the show, thank you very much. It's not an announcement that's greeted with universal approval, but you can see why they do it. It's not that they're necessarily concerned about low quality footage finding its way online, or that an arena filled with cameras will spoil anyone's experience: it's about spoilers . With a performance that's essentially a series of spectacularly-staged set pieces, they don't want to ruin the surprise for people going to tomorrow's show, or the night after's.  Second example: Rammstein have done the crowd-surfing-in-an-inflatable-rubber-dingy thing before. But here it takes on added meaning, as the band "row" from the second stage to the first, arriving in a manner that replicates the beginning of the Auslander video, with a hand-written sign reading "Willkommen" there to greet them. This is the kind of evolved, joined-up thinking you won't find at a Kiss show.

34 years and one day after my first stadium gig (Springsteen, Wembley Stadium, July 5 1985), I've just seen the best. Rammstein. Christing fuck. pic.twitter.com/Gv3X2eu2Ph July 6, 2019

The old stunts still work a treat

Flake getting cooked! Dinghy-surfing across the crowd! The crossbow that shoots flames! There have been slight tweaks to the props, but these refined stunts still pack the same joy, and it doesn’t feel like being short-changed. That firework trick during Du Hast – where they race back and forth across the crowd – still takes the breath away.

...But did we mention the pyro?

Speaking of that Du Hast trick:

Their choice of set opener split opinion

Team Hammer were pretty much split down the middle on Rammstein's choice to open with the emotionally-charged Was Ich Liebe . Half felt that it was a strange choice – and that when Rammstein released the stomping Deutschland , it seemed like a song ready-made to open big rock shows. Given how retina-burningly epic the rest of the show was, they argued it made for a rather understated start to proceedings, and that the significant swelling of crowd noise when the sextet then kicked into Links 2 3 4 showed that perhaps it wasn't the best choice.

The other half disagreed completely, and felt that while Was Is Liebe might not be the most obvious choice for an entrance song, boy, did it deliver. They pointed out that the sinister music, the thick, black jets of smoke billowing from the stage and the repeater towers – creeping into the crowd until the whole stadium was filled with a noxious gas – was genuinely unsettling, like being trapped in a dystopian dictatorship where the planet is dying a toxic death. Like a piece of immersive theatre.

Oh, not to mention the massive explosion that made the whole team swear in fear.

The light-up hoodies are... interesting

When the band emerged just before Deutschland , wearing light-up hoodies that looked like they'd been bought at a Cyberdog sale, no one knew what the hell was going on. What then followed was a charming – if slightly bemusing – interpretive dance routine, the musicians throwing shapes that made it look like a bunch of neon stickmen had invaded the stage. It was bizarre. It was daft. It could only have been Rammstein.

They’re not afraid to be political

When they launch into Links 2 3 4 , the song they wrote to defy Nazi accusations, six massive Rammstein banners unfurl, as well as the digital banner on their huge, central tower. Between that and recent single Deutschland , it’s clear they’re still not afraid to look their history in the eye and subvert its iconography.

They’re individuals

Like Slipknot and their masks , you can always rely on Rammstein to look weird. Flake still has a shiny suit, but this time it’s golden and mirrored. Oliver has some kind of orange morph suit on, and lights in his in-ear monitors. Till’s dressed like a general who’s gone to a far-flung country, slaughtered a bunch of snakes, and made a suit out of them. When Richard ascends the central tower to play his remix of Deutschland , he’s wearing a white, feathered pimp coat (and his red armband, obvs). Paul looks sort of like an 80s punk. Christoph looks like... Christoph. But there’s not a huge amount you can do when you’re behind a kit.

It's not very rock'n'roll

At this level of staging, with all the pyrotechnics, and the precision choreography, and all the confetti, your average Rammstein show has more in common with the Blue Man Group or the Cirque du Soleil than it does with a night out watching a band throw shapes in front of a wall of Marshalls.

But then again...

It's extremely rock'n'roll. If you're being reductive about it, it's easy to criticise Rammstein. Take Laibach's vocals and aesthetic, add some White Zombie riffs, light blue touch paper, stand well back. Blah blah blah. But the sum is so much greater than the parts, and live, those lurching riffs become absolute monsters. Like AC/DC, Rammstein are smart enough to imbue something that's essentially dumb with enough razor-sharp verve and wit to make it utterly irresistible.

They don't rely on video

In an age when stadium shows are all about video, and you leave a performance having essentially watched wide-screen television for a couple of hours, Rammstein use very little. Only during Puppe is video an integral part of the action, as Till Lindemann wears a head-cam that allows the crowd to witness the world's most terrifying baby as it screams from within a giant metallic perambulator. The rest of the time, you focus on the band. Which is really as it should be. And the fire.

Can we take a second to talk about that baby?

There's the giant perambulator. We’re shown an image of a truly freakish baby. Then the pram combusts, and ash (black confetti) fills the whole venue. That shit was the stuff of insane nightmares.

The setlist delivered

As you might expect for a band promoting a new album, the lion's share of the setlist came from the recently-released Rammstein album . Plenty of old favourites were thrown into the set, too – but the new material was met with just as much fervour as the time-tested hits.

Was ich liebe Links 2-3-4 Tattoo Sehnsucht Zeig dich Mein Herz brennt Puppe Heirate mich Diamant Deutschland Radio Mein Teil Du hast Sonne Ohne dich Engel Ausländer Du riechst so gut Pussy Rammstein Ich will

Spare a thought for the MK Dons greenkeeper

Who now has a paltry four weeks – as opposed to the standard eight – to get the MK Dons' home stadium pitch in working order before their first game of the season. The pitch's grass was lifted off in its entirety to accommodate Rammstein's epic set, and has to be completely replaced before the football team can play again.

10 Mind-Blowing Rammstein Concert Moments

The post 10 Mind-Blowing Rammstein Concert Moments appeared first on Consequence .

After two postponements due to the pandemic, Rammstein have finally invaded North America with their highly anticipated 2022 stadium tour . It’s safe to say that the German industrial metal act puts on a pleasantly shocking and awe-inducing live show, one that has had its share of memorable moments over the years.

With this being the band’s first full-scale stadium tour of North America ( tickets available here ), many of us will be witnessing the phenomenon that is a Rammstein concert for the first time ever. No longer will we have to rely on scouring Youtube for the best clips, when we can now experience the wonders of a Rammstein show live and in person.

Rammstein’s antics are some of the most ostentatious in the business. Many involve fire, because of course they do, but some fall under the “crazy kind of charming” category that the band has encapsulated so well.

Editor's Pick

Rammstein Storm Montreal to Kick Off North American Tour: Recap + Photos

In celebration of the inferno this tour is setting across the continent, here are 10 of Rammstein’s most mind-blowing concert moments over the years, some of which you’ll witness on this North American tour. Keep in mind that any list wouldn’t fully capture the entertaining absurdity of Rammstein’s live shows, since the band continues to set new standards for what concerts can look like.

Life Boat Crowd Surf

Usually, crowdsurfing is more of a show-goers game, but leave it up to Rammstein to come ready and willing to surf the horde in their own way. Instead of surfboard or just straight up using their bodies, they took to the crowd surfing in lifeboats. Full sized lifeboats. Why they had them and where they got them is a mystery, but setting out to the crowd sea as the gimmick for the piano rendition of “Engel” was truly a sight.

“Puppe” Baby Carriage Fire

It’s not that Rammstein hate babies, but they’ve certainly established how much they love fire. And with that comes an inherent desire to set fire to literally anything, including baby carriages. During “Puppe,” a large baby carriage is wheeled out into the throes of singer Till Lindemann’s power, then set aflame. It was a sight to behold when they first did it back in the day and it’s still one now, especially considering what’s currently happening in the world politically.

Till Lindemann Sets a “Fan” on Fire

Setting a fan on fire probably isn’t the best way to put the audience at ease, but it was a stunt Rammstein were quite fond of during their shows shows in the 2010s. Of course that fan was a professionally trained plant, but it’s guaranteed there were a few shocked faces in the audience when they did it on Jimmy Kimmel Live back in 2011. Don’t worry, no one was harmed in the making of that performance.

“Heirate Mich” Scaffold Collapse

This one is mind-blowing for the fact that unlike the others, it doesn’t seem to have been intentional at all. While performing “Heirate Mich” in Berlin in 1996, a lit scaffold on their stage was just a normal fiery prop in Rammstein’s pyrotechnic decor until it suddenly fell onto the stage. Yet not one of the members skipped a beat. Like true professionals they kept playing on as if nothing were wrong, probably because being amongst the flames is a regular to them as breathing.

“Mein Teil” Cauldron Fire

Seeing Rammstein use fire in a scenario where it’s actually appropriate to do so is like is more shocking than the use of fire itself, but the whole schtick of “Mein Teil” involves Lindemann as a deranged cook throwing all sorts of fury and vigor into a large pot. Bloodied and characteristically deranged, he begins blasts the pot with a massive flame-thrower, ensuring that everything in there is properly cooked.

“Feurer Frei” Flamethrower Masks

When it comes to ways to creatively pyro-out, Rammstein really know how to do it up. Their costumes and general chaos would fit in well the Mad Max: Fury Road , except they did it first. The band’s Made in Germany Tour saw them rocking literal flamethrower masks that spewed out flames like orally-induced blowtorches. At certain points, their mouth flames joined together in a way that was both epic and surprising, with all that heat under there.

“Pussy” Sperm Cannon

Overt sex is something Rammstein doesn’t shy away from in any way, so spinning around a penis shaped cannon that shoots out foamy sperm fliers couldn’t be more on brand for them. Especially since they typically pull it out whenever the song “Pussy” comes around on their setlist. It’s a foam mess that goes everywhere, so it hilariously likens the act to one that may be experienced in the bedroom, but on a much larger scale.

“Buck Dich” Crawl

Like we’ve mentioned before, Rammstein aren’t strangers to throwing sex in all forms in the faces of their adoring fans. Take the “Buck Dich” walk of sex slaves, for instance. In a display of onstage industrial driven dominatrix work, drummer Christoph Schneider walks the other members (minus Christian “Flake” Lorenz, who’s providing the soundtrack) up the stairs and onto the stage. All are leashed and on their knees as they’re sensually sneered at by Schneider until they pick up their instruments. Even with all the fire they use while playing, this may be the most inflammatory thing they do.

Rammstein Doing “Rammstein” in Only a Way Rammstein Can

You don’t often see self-titled songs the way you do self-titled albums. But we’re not talking about any ordinary band here. Rammstein are an act that requires a band anthem, and back in the day, they’d often open with the song “Rammstein,” with Lindemann donning a chainmail suit that he would indeed set ablaze. On the more recent tours, chainmail is exchanged for guitar fire guns, which is just as epic as it sounds.

Paul Landers and Richard Kruspe Kissing Onstage in Moscow

A man kissing another man isn’t at all shocking, nor should it be, but what made this kiss one of note is where it took place: Moscow. It’s no secret that Russia is not a haven for LGBTQIA+ rights, so guitarists Paul Landers and Richard Kruspe really made an important statement to the country when they locked lips at the end of “Auslander” in 2019. It’s something the two have done before onstage, but it meant so much more this time around.

Rammstein’s North American tour kicked off in Montreal, Canada, on August 21st. Tickets for the remaining dates are available via Ticketmaster , with more information at the band’s official website .

Rammstein: Europe Stadium Tour 2023 Two shows in the Olympiastadion Berlin

Rammstein are stepping up the pace and can announce today: in 2023, the european stadium tour will be returning for a third time.

What this means has already been reported in many of the country’s newspapers this year – a stage construction that sometimes towers over the stadium roof, a show lit up with fire and flames, a perfectly orchestrated band, the humour and pathos of the Rammstein staging – all this is indeed unique in the world of music in terms of style, magnitude and quality. It is thus only logical that Rammstein offer all their fans and those who are about to become fans a fresh chance to experience their “gigantic show” (Rolling Stone) live, which makes European “stadiums rock” (Nordkurier), with “lots of fireworks, lots of bangs and smoke” (Sueddeutsche Zeitung).

Two concerts in the Olympiastadion Berlin – ticket sales starting September 8th

After their two breathtaking shows in June 2022 Rammstein will be returning to the Olympiastadion Berlin on July 15th & 16th, 2023. Tickets go on sale Thursday, September 8th at 10 a.m. exclusively via eventim.com/rammstein . VIP tickets can be purchased via our online shop .

Formation and early years (1994-1995)

Rammstein was founded by guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe . In 1989, he escaped to West Berlin and started the band Orgasm Death Gimmicks. At that time, he was heavily influenced by American music, especially Kiss. After the Berlin Wall came down, he moved back home to Schwerin, where Till Lindemann worked as a basket-weaver, played drums in the band First Arsch.

At this time, Richard lived with Oliver Riedel , of the band The Inchtabokatables, and Christoph "Doom" Schneider (of Die Firma). Richard realized that the music he had previously created did not properly suit him; He envisioned something that would combine machines and the sound of heavy guitars. The three started working together on a new project. Richard soon found it extremely difficult to write both music and lyrics at the same time, so he talked Lindemann into joining Rammstein. Richard first discovered Till when he overheard him singing while he was working.

A contest was held in Berlin for amateur bands in 1994, the winner of which would receive the opportunity to record a four-track demo audiotape in a professional studio. Kruspe , Schneider , Riedel and Lindemann entered and won the contest, which caught the attention of Paul H. Landers , who wanted in on the project upon hearing their demo. To complete their sound, Rammstein then attempted to recruit Christian "Flake" Lorenz , who used to play with Landers in Feeling B. At first Lorenz was hesitant, but eventually agreed to join the band.

Herzeleid (1995-1997)

Rammstein began to record their first studio album entitled Herzeleid in March 1995 with producer Jacob Hellner. They released their first single Du riechst so gut on 17 August and later released the album on 24 September 1995. Later that same year, they toured with Clawfinger in Warsaw and Prague. Rammstein headlined a tour of their own through Germany from 2 December to 22 December consisting of 17 shows which helped to boost the band's popularity. They then went on several tours throughout early 1996, releasing their second single entitled Seemann on 8 January 1996.

On 27 March, Rammstein performed on MTV's Hanging Out in London; their first performance in the UK . Rammstein's first major boost in popularity outside Germany came when music director Trent Reznor chose two Rammstein songs, Heirate mich and Rammstein , for David Lynch's film Lost Highway. The soundtrack for the film was released in the US in the fall of 1996 and later throughout Europe in April 1997.

Rammstein then went on to tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland from September to October 1996, performing an anniversary concert on 27 September called "100 years of Rammstein". Guests to the concert included Moby, Bobo and The Berlin Session Orchestra, Berlin director Gert Hof was responsible for the light show.

Sehnsucht and Live aus Berlin (late 1996-2000)

Rammstein started recording Sehnsucht in November 1996 at the Temple Studios in Malta. The album was again produced by Jacob Hellner. The first single off the album, entitled Engel was released on 1 April 1997 and later reached gold status in Germany on 23 May. This prompted the release of a fan edition of the single, named Engel (fan edition) . This contained two previously unreleased songs, Feuerräder and Wilder Wein . Release of the second single from the album Sehnsucht was Du hast , which hit the German single charts August 1997 at number 5. Rammstein then continued touring in the summer whilst Sehnsucht was released on 22 August 1997. The album reached number 1 in Germany after only two weeks in the charts. Simultaneously, Herzeleid and both the singles off Sehnsucht ( Du hast and Engel ) were in the Top 20 of the German charts. Rammstein continued to headline sold out shows throughout Europe in September, October and November 1997 before releasing their cover of Kraftwerk's Das Modell . The single included another unreleased song entitled Kokain . On 5 December 1997, Rammstein embarked on their first tour of the United States with KMFDM.

On 22 and 23 August 1998, Rammstein played to over 17,000 fans at the Wuhlheide in Berlin; the biggest show the band have ever played there up to that date. Supporting acts were Danzig, Nina Hagen, Joachim Witt and Alaska. The show was professionally filmed, intended to be released on their upcoming live DVD , Live aus Berlin.

Rammstein embarked on a live tour with Korn, Ice Cube, Orgy and Limp Bizkit called the Family Values tour in September through to late October 1998. To further continue their success in the US , Sehnsucht received Gold record status on 2 November.

The Band was nominated at the MTV European Music Awards for Best Rock Act and performed Du hast live on 12 November that year.

Rammstein had further success in 1999, starting off the year in February with a nomination for Best Metal Performance at the 42nd-annual Grammy Awards. A year after it was filmed, the Live aus Berlin concert was released on CD on 30 August 1999, with a limited edition double CD also available. Two weeks after it was released, Live aus Berlin went to number one in the German Album Charts. On 13 September and 26 November 1999 the video and DVD versions of the concert were released respectively.

Mutter (2000-2002)

The recording of Rammstein's album Mutter took place in the south of France between May 2000 and June 2000, and it was later mixed in Stockholm in October of that year. During Christmas 2000, Rammstein released an mp3 of Links 2-3-4 as a taster for their new album.

2001 was a busy year for Rammstein, starting in January and February with the band playing the Big Day Out festival in Australia and New Zealand. January also heralded the shooting of the video for their upcoming single, Sonne , recorded in Potsdam at Babelsberger Filmstudios from 13 to 15 January 2001. The video was released on 29 January 2001. The single for Sonne was released on 12 February 2001 in Europe, featuring an instrumental version of the song, two remixes by Clawfinger and Adios from the upcoming album.

Mutter was released on 2 April 2001, sparking another Rammstein tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland. On 14 May, the second single off the album, Links 2-3-4 , was released, along with a video of the single on 18 May. After a tour throughout Europe in June, the band then toured the US , Canada and Mexico from June to August 2001.

Ich will , the third single from the album, was released on 10 September 2001 and a tour edition of the Mutter album was released, featuring alternative artwork and live versions of Ich will , Links 2-3-4 , Sonne and Spieluhr . From 8 to 12 January 2002, Rammstein traveled to Prague to participate in a minor scene for the film xXx. The band is seen in the opening scene, performing their song Feuer frei! in a concert. Feuer frei! was released across Europe as the first single from the xXx soundtrack on 14 October 2002. Rammstein released two remixes of the song. Furthermore, the single's track listing included Du hast and Bück dich cover versions by Battery. The video for the single was edited by Rob Cohen, which contains part Rammstein performance at the beginning of the film and part snippets from the film itself.

Reise, Reise (2003-2005)

Rammstein recorded Reise, Reise at the El Cortijo studio in southern Spain between November 2003 and December 2003, it was later mixed at Toytown studio in Stockholm, Sweden in April and May 2004. The first single from the album was Mein Teil , released on 26 July 2004. The video was shot in the Arena, in the Treptow district of Berlin. Outdoor shooting took place at the Deutsche Oper (Opera House) U-Bahn station on Bismarckstrasse. The director was Zoran Bihac, who also filmed the Links 2-3-4 video. The video for Amerika was filmed on 6 and 7 August 2004 in the ruins of the former cement works in Rüdersdorf near Berlin, Germany under the direction of Jörn Heitmann (who also directed the Ich will video , among others). The space suits for the moon scenes were borrowed from Hollywood and 240 tons of ash were needed to create the moon landscape. The video premiered on 20 August 2004.

The second single from Reise, Reise was Amerika , released on 13 September 2004. With the album released on 27 September, it went straight to top 10 charts throughout Europe. According to the Billboard charts, Rammstein were now the most successful German-language band of all time. Rammstein then toured Germany through November and some of December 2004, releasing the single Ohne dich on 22 November.

In February 2005, Rammstein toured Europe again. By 28 February 2005, Rammstein had played 21 concerts in front of more than 200,000 spectators in ten countries. Keine Lust was the fourth single released from Reise, Reise on 28 February 2005.

From 27 May to 30 July 2005, Rammstein played festivals across Europe. Footage from these concerts eventually ended up on Rammstein's live DVD Völkerball , released in November 2006.

Rosenrot and Völkerball (2005/2006)

In August 2005, Rammstein revealed the name of their next studio album: Rosenrot . Their first single from the album, Benzin , was released on 5 October 2005, with its video premiere on 16 September 2005. The album Rosenrot was released worldwide on 28 October 2005. Directly following the release, the album continued the success of its predecessor, Reise, Reise , placing on top 10 charts in 20 different countries.

16 December 2005 marked the release of the title track on the album Rosenrot . The video for Mann gegen Mann was released on 6 February 2006, with the single being released on 3 March. On 19 February 2006, Rammstein had an asteroid named after them, 110393 Rammstein.

On 17 November the first Rammstein live DVD since Live aus Berlin from 1998 was released. Völkerball shows concert-performances by the band in England, France, Japan and Russia. The special edition is extended by a second DVD , which contains the documentaries "Anaconda in the net" by Mathilde Bonnefoy and the "Making of the album Reise, Reise " by Rammstein guitarist Paul Landers . The limited edition was released as a large black and white photo-book with photos by Frederic Batier, who had accompanied the band through their recent tours. The photo-book edition contains two DVD s and two live albums.

Liebe ist für alle da (2007-Present)

The band took a time out in 2006, and began work again in 2007. In an interview with German rapper Bushido (who contributed the "Electro Ghetto remix" of Amerika ) on 21 January 2007, Bushido reported recording a song with Rammstein, called Vergiss uns nicht ("Don't forget us"). In this interview, Bushido also mentioned that he was unsure whether it would be on their "best of" album or not. This was the first mention of a "best of" album, or the new album all together. In addition, keyboardist Christian "Flake" Lorenz confirmed this in an interview with Metal Hammer Germany in November, stating that they would have most likely released a new album in 2008. The band did not tour during 2007 due to album production. Their website confirmed work on a new album, but no word of a "best of" album has yet been mentioned. In January 2008, guitarist Richard Kruspe confirmed on the Talking Metal Podcast that Rammstein was recording an album as they spoke, during that same interview he confirmed a "big world tour" following the next album to contain US dates.

On 4 November, the band finished the pre-production in Berlin and went to the Henson Studio in Los Angeles. After 7 intensive weeks they had recorded the drums, guitars and most of the vocals.

Two very short (less than two minutes) "making of" videos have been released during the development of the album. One video, released on the band's website, shows drummer Christoph "Doom" Schneider recording drums for one of the tracks ( Mehr ), and the second, released on the band's MySpace page, features keyboardist Flake Lorenz practicing notes for another track.

On 6 May 2009, Rammstein announced a European Tour dates on their website. The June '09 release of Metal Hammer featured an interview with Rammstein-manager Emanuel Fialik. In regard to the upcoming album Fialik quoted Musically, it has the force of Mutter while the beauty of the melodies of Sehnsucht - Just so it has fixed in my ears. and also that it will feature two soft ballads and the rest will be hard as a rock . He even went as far to say that the disk is the biggest surprise since the birth of his son. The interview concluded with Fialik stating It is musically the best Album, which until now has Rammstein recorded!

In July 2009, the track Liebe ist für alle da leaked onto the internet, along with promotional materials. This has led Universal Music to take action against certain fan sites.

It was confirmed in August 2009 that the new album will have 11 tracks, and mixing of the album - which was taking place in Stockholm - has been completed. On September 2009, it was confirmed on the band's website that Pussy will be the first single from the new album. On the same day, The Gauntlet posted a promotional video for it. The video also confirmed the new album title, Liebe ist für alle da . Later, the title was confirmed again in an interview with Paul Landers for RockOne magazine.

The music video for Pussy was released 30 minutes early on September 16, 2009, at 20:30 GMT , released especially for the adult website Visit-x. The video contains graphic scenes of male and female nudity as well as women engaging in sexual activity with the band members. Metal Hammer released an edited version of the video onto their website.

The video for Ich tu dir weh was released on December 21, 2009 on the adult website Visit-x; it depicts the band on stage in a similar configuration as the one on their 2009/10 tour. The single was released on January 15, 2010. On Friday April 23, 2010, Rammstein released their video Haifisch . Unlike the video for Ich tu dir weh , it contains more of a storyline rather than a performance. The single was released May 28, 2010.

On November 8, 2009 Rammstein began the first leg of the Liebe ist für alle da tour in Lisbon, Portugal. As part of their European summer tour, Rammstein performed at the 2010 Rock am Ring Festival on 4–6 June 2010. They also headlined several shows across Europe on the Sonisphere Festival, including their first ever outdoor UK performance at Knebworth Park, performing the day before Iron Maiden. On Sunday July 18, 2010, Rammstein played in front of more than 130,000 people in Quebec City on the Plains of Abraham as the closing show for the Festival d'été de Québec. It was their first North American appearance in 9 years. The band announced that their last tour dates of 2010 were to be in the Americas. After several South American dates, the band returned to the United States for a single show at the famous Madison Square Garden in New York City - their first US show in over nine years. They also performed at Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada on December 9. This concert also sold out within the first hour of tickets going on sale, indicating a high demand to see Rammstein in North America. The band then played at Big Day Out 2011 from January 21 to February 6 in New Zealand and Australia. The band also visited South Africa for the first time in 2011 and played two concerts at Cape Town and Johannesburg. On February 16, 2011, Rammstein announced that after the massive success of their sold out Madison Square Garden show on December 11, 2010 they would be touring North America after 10 years to a total of six US dates, three Canadian dates, and four Mexican dates. On April 20, 2011 the band also won the Revolver Golden God Award for best live band, their first US award.

Made In Germany 1995-2011 (2011-present)

Rammstein will release a best of album titled Made In Germany 1995–2011 on December 2, 2011. It will contain one previously unreleased track, Mein Land which will also be available as a single on November 11, 2011 with another unreleased track Vergiss uns nicht , the song that was recorded with Bushido. The compilation will be available in three different editions. The video for the song Mein Land was filmed on May 23, 2011 at Sycamore Beach in Malibu, California. It will premiere on the band's official website on November 11, 2011. A full European tour in support of Made In Germany 1995-2011 will spawn from November 2011 to March 2012.

Saw them with my granddaughter at Olympiastadion, Berlin on 15th July 2023. I've been to many live shows and gigs over the years, but Rammstein raised the bar above all else. Fantastic visuals, pyros, lighting and of course sound. This band give you EVERYTHING, this is music, entertainment, theatre. I was literally blown away, so much so, we saw them again at their final gig of 2023 at King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels on 5th August 2023. Roll on Dublin June 2024, something to REALLY look forward to. Mike, Hull, UK.

When you try to see a group for years, the worry is that when you do get to go to their concert it will turn out to be a bit of an anti climax.

Not Rammstien. They were everything I expected and more. Brilliant, fantastic, superb.

As a visual show it was all the usual pyrotechnics and smoke and bang bangs.?

Instrumentally everything we all love about them with heavy riffs/shredding.

I loved this concert and will go and see them again

An Epic show!

Rammstein knows how to lighten up a room.

Great setlist, great visual effects.

I didn’t like the venue though. I found the sound really crappy.

It seems that there was a technical glitch during the song “Rammstein”. And I must confess that after “Sonne” the venue was filled with smoke and the rest of the show was quite hidden when there was too much light.

‘It Ends With Us’: The Press Tour Drama, Explained

What’s happening onscreen has become secondary to the conversation about differences between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, her co-star and director.

Black Lively poses on a white carpet in a long glittery dress adorned with fabric flowers and a red boa. Letters spelling out “It Ends With Us” amid real flowers are blurred in the background.

By Shivani Gonzalez

The Blake Lively romantic drama “It Ends With Us” revolves around a florist, and the film’s marketing campaign, including the red carpet and the posters, has been entirely floral-themed. But the press tour has hardly come up roses.

The movie itself is a box office hit , earning $50 million after its release last weekend. The plot centers on Lily Bloom (Lively), who escapes a rough childhood, opens her dream flower store and soon meets her seemingly dream guy, Ryle Kincaid, played by the film’s director, Justin Baldoni.

Based on a best-selling Colleen Hoover novel, “It Ends With Us” is ultimately about breaking the cycle of domestic violence that entraps one generation after another. But the film has been at the center of a surprisingly varied number of controversies that have raised a number of questions:

Has there been a rift between Baldoni and the cast?

Hints that things were off first surfaced at the New York and European premieres. Though Baldoni was in attendance, he wasn’t posing for the cameras with anyone else involved in the movie and wasn’t participating in joint interviews. Fans speculated that this was a marketing tactic, given that he plays an abusive husband. The theory seemed to be that the distance was a statement about not romanticizing the relationship between the Lively and Baldoni characters.

But that conjecture was quickly discarded when it emerged that Lively, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, other cast members and even Hoover had unfollowed Baldoni on social media. The interpersonal drama was fueled by reports of conflict during the making of the film — all of it related by anonymous sources, of course.

Does the rift involve Ryan Reynolds?

Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, secured the rights to the book in 2019, and in 2023 it was announced that Lively had signed on to star. Crucially, both had executive producer roles.

That matters because interviews on the press tour suggested there were creative differences between Baldoni and Lively. When “Entertainment Tonight” asked Baldoni if he would direct an adaptation of the sequel , “It Starts With Us,” he said, “I think Blake Lively’s ready to direct. That’s what I think.”

The suspicions of differences was further fueled by Lively’s revelation that Reynolds had had a hand in the script.

On the red carpet with E! News, she said that Reynolds, whose “Deadpool & Wolverine” is also in theaters now, was very involved in “It Ends With Us,” despite not having any formal role, and that he was responsible for adapting a scene. “The iconic rooftop scene in this movie, my husband wrote it. Nobody knows that,” she said.

The screenwriter, Christy Hall, told People that she was unaware of any rewrite, and instead thought the actors were improvising.

Additionally, according to The Hollywood Reporter , Lively commissioned a cut of the film from Shane Reid, the same editor who worked on “Deadpool & Wolverine.” The biggest unanswered question gripping Hollywood is whether Baldoni or Lively’s cut is what ultimately got released.

Is the marketing campaign downplaying the issue of domestic violence?

Lively’s promotion of the movie has included a push for her new hair care line, discussion of the clothes in the movie and responses to questions about abuse, which have been criticized as shallow and tone deaf. On the official “It Ends With Us” movie TikTok page, Lively says, “Grab your friends, wear your florals and head out to see it.”

To some social media users, that seems off for a film about domestic violence and has inspired TikToks of people mocking her light approach. One TikTok user, @hiremeimfunny , has posted a series titled “if other movies were promoted like ‘It Ends With Us.’” In one video, she says, “Calling all boy moms — grab your snacks and bring your son to the family movie of the year, ‘Requiem for a Dream.’ Only in theaters, not in your mind.”

Baldoni, by contrast, has emphasized the importance of raising awareness of domestic violence and providing resources for those in similar situations.

“If a Lily Bloom in real life can sit in this theater, and make a different choice for herself than the one that was made for her, maybe she sees herself on that screen and chooses something different for herself,” Baldoni said in a red carpet interview. His company, Wayfarer, also partnered with No More Foundation to provide resources and information about abuse.

Taylor Swift Finally Revealed How She Does Her Eras Tour Stage Dive And 3 More Fun Behind The Scenes Facts

S wifties, it’s (almost) the end of the Eras era of Taylor Swift’s career – can you believe it? When the singer played her last of eight shows at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday, it marked the final show of her summer European leg of the tour. All that’s left now are 18 dates in the United States and Canada starting this fall. While fans have been anticipating upcoming Taylor Swift music coming next, she decided to celebrate the milestone show with a new music video.

During Swift’s final U.K. show of the Eras Tour, the official video for “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” dropped on YouTube , and it has a ton of behind the scenes footage from the Taylor Swift shows. Check it out:

Sure, fans have been waiting for Taylor Swift to announce her version of Reputation all week as she says goodbye to a massive chunk of the Eras Tour. But isn’t this an awesome way to look back at all the work that goes into the phenomenon of a show the singer, her dancers, band, and crew have put on night after night? Lots of secrets were revealed in this music video. Let’s talk about it.

Taylor Swift’s Post Stage Dive Landing Spot Is Revealed

Remember when Taylor Swift first did that stage dive for the Eras Tour and it went viral ? It has since become a staple of going to the Eras Tour after Swift plays her latest Eras Tour surprise songs each night she is on stage. As the video showed, she doesn’t fall very far. She gets to fall on a very comfy mattress that is padded all around.

There’s A Pulley Under The Eras Tour Stage

Another fact one can gather from the “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” video is that there’s actually a fun little pulley under the stage that allows Taylor Swift to move about during the show. Since she’s wearing her Midnights outfit in the video during this realization, it looks like she definitely uses it after the show. But perhaps if you attended and noticed her disappear and reappear, that’s how she does it.

There’s An Adorable Pre-Show Ritual With Her Team

In the very beginning of the video, Taylor Swift is also seen in a huddle with her dancers and some of the show’s other team members moving their fingers in unison in a very specific way as they shout something together before she opens the show with the Lover era. While she kept secret exactly what they say, it’s sweet to know the Eras Tour team start the show all together with a specific ritual.

Yes, She Rehearsed For Eras Tour In A Soundproof Room

Now we know that Swift prepped for the Eras Tour by singing the whole show on a treadmill prior to hitting the road, the video also shows a bunch of footage from when she was rehearsing for The Tortured Poets Department section of the show. It’s interesting to learn that she was very much in a soundproof room doing so. Also, it’s refreshing to see she went with the comfy clothing, even though, yes, of course she had to practice in high heels.

As Taylor Swift gets her first major break from the Eras Tour since the springtime, the video is a great way to show the behind the scenes that goes into her tour. She’ll be back on stage in October, but until then check out our thoughts on when the Reputation (Taylor's Version) album could be announced!

The 18-song album, coming out Oct. 4, includes such massive hits as “Feels Like the First Time,” “Cold as Ice,” “Long, Long Way from Home,” and “I Want to Know What Love Is,” and the title track is a previously unreleased cut from 1996, “Turning Back Time,” sung by original frontman Lou Gramm, Rochester's Juke Box Hero .

The induction ceremony happens Oct. 19 and will stream live via Disney+. An edited version of the event will air later in the year on ABC.

Meanwhile, here are 10 things you might not know about Gates native Gramm and Foreigner :

1. Lou Gramm was compared to an opera star

Rolling Stone once praised Lou Gramm as “the Pavarotti of the power ballad,” a comparison to Italian operatic tenor extraordinaire Luciano Pavarotti.

2. A bluegrass legend is among Lou Gramm's fans

Grammy-winning bluegrass artist Alison Krauss is a big Lou Gramm fan and gave him a shoutout from the stage during her 2005 show at Rochester Institute of Technology.

3. Johnny Rotten was also a Lou Gramm fan

Lou Gramm and Foreigner also had “closet” fans. During the late 1970s and early ’80s, it was fashionable for punk rockers to put down arena acts: “Then I discovered that even Johnny Rotten was a closet Foreigner fan,” Foreigner co-founder Mick Jones told Radio.com . “I found this out from his ex-girlfriend who had to sit there when he got the first pressing of ‘Hot Blooded,’ which was on red vinyl; she reminded me of that. She said, ‘I just had to sit there all ****ing day listening to him doing all these moves and air guitar-ing to it!’ She said, ‘It drove me crazy!’”

4. Lou Gramm is history buff

Lou Gramm loves American history, especially the Revolutionary and Civil War eras, he said in his 2013 autobiography “ Juke Box Hero: My Five Decades in Rock ‘n’ Roll ,” written with Scott Pitoniak. “One of the big thrills of my youth was being able to see presidential candidate John F. Kennedy pass by us in a convertible during a 1960 campaign stop in Rochester,” Gramm wrote. “If I hadn’t pursued a career in rock ‘n’ roll, I definitely would have become a history teacher.”

5. Lou Gramm has a hamburger named for him

The Gate House in Village Gate Square serves a hamburger named for Lou Gramm. “The Gramm” is a ½-pound beef patty topped with avocado, bacon, red onion, American cheese and ranch dressing between a brioche bun.

6. Lou Gramm was there when the Rolling Stones' Rochester show was shut down

Before he was rock star Lou Gramm, 15-year-old Louis Grammatico was one of 4,000 kids who descended on the Rochester Community War Memorial for a Rolling Stones show Nov. 1, 1965 . Police shut it down seven minutes in after audience members got unruly and Mick Jagger whipped off his jacket “while wiggling around,” then-Police Chief William Lombard told the Rochester Times-Union. In “Juke Box Hero,” Gramm recalled defying his parents by sneaking out of their Gates home, meeting up with his girlfriend and hitchhiking into the city to go to the show. In addition to teenage girls screaming, he recalled Lombard and Jagger getting into a minor shoving match onstage before the band exited the venue and sped off in a limo. Thirteen years later, Gramm and Foreigner opened for the Stones in front of 80,000 people at RFK Stadium in Philadelphia.

7. The first Foreigner song Lou Gramm co-wrote references Rochester

The day he was accepted into Foreigner, Lou Gramm went to Mick Jones’ New York City home for dinner, and afterwards they spent six hours working on the single “Long, Long Way from Home,” which would be included on the band's 1977 self-titled debut album and was inspired by Gramm’s journey: “I left a small town — Rochester — for the apple in decay,” he told John Beudin in a 2022 YouTube interview . “And the apple in decay was New York. Because when I was down there, there was a garbage strike. The garbage hadn’t been picked up in over three weeks, it was all piled up on the curb, all of Manhattan stunk to high heaven. And that I termed ‘the apple in decay.’”

8. Lou Gramm's first rock-star splurge was ...

Lou Gramm is known as a connoisseur of American muscle cars, but his first rock-star splurge was on a luxury import. He bought a 930 Turbo Porsche from a dealership in Manhattan after cashing his first check for his work on Foreigner’s second studio album, 1978's “Double Vision,” he told John Beudin . But, “The roads in Rochester had so many potholes that I was afraid I was going to bend the frame on that Porsche. I couldn’t enjoy driving it because I was always dodging potholes and huge bumps and stuff like that.” So, he sold it.

9. Lou Gramm didn't dream of becoming a singer

The Grammatico household was a musical one, and originally, Lou wanted to be a drummer. In “Juke Box Hero” he said that as a kid, “I had absolutely no interest in singing.” But he began having second thoughts about the drums when he observed his older brother, Ben, playing them and decided his sibling had more natural talent.

10. 'Feels Like the First Time' drum riff is a favorite of another rock star

In a video urging the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to induct Foreigner into its 2024 class, Foo Fighters founder Dave Grohl said he’s loved Foreigner since he got their debut record and that he's used the “Feels Like the First Time” drum riff “in more than a few songs.”

Supporters told ABC News they were thrilled by Harris' candidacy, with one saying she had not felt this excited about politics in years. Some said they had never volunteered for a campaign before signing up to work on Harris'.

"I was excited about Biden, but I am a million times more excited about Kamala," Nicole Molinaro, a Pittsburgh-area mom, said. "I think that we need her leadership. We need her intelligence. We need her progressive, you know, stance. I think we need her experience. We need everything about Kamala."

Another supporter, Edward Freel, said he was unsure about Harris at first, "but then, as I started listening better and following her, [I thought] this woman is going to be good for this country."

“As they meet Americans where they are in battleground states across the country, President Trump and Senator Vance will remind voters that under their leadership, we can end inflation, protect our communities from violent criminals, secure the border, and Make America Great Again,” Trump Campaign Senior Advisors Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles said in a statement.
