What Our Guests Are Saying

We were impressed.

My sisters and I want to compliment our trolley driver Alex … his knowledge of the area and its history was phenomenal. He was very articulate and his presentation clear. We were impressed and so appreciative..

Thank you for making our trip special

…writing to let you know how wonderful our Old Town Trolley Tour was in D.C. Both our tour guides (Alex and Sooner Steve) were wonderful and made the tour special. They should be commended for the way they represented your company and for the great job that they did. Thank you again and because of this trip we are planning our next trip but only where Old Town Trolley Tours are offered…

What a wonderful experience!

We recently spent a day in your beautiful city & had the pleasure of taking your trolley tour with ‘Mr Holiday’ & ‘Clayton’ as our very knowledgeable tour guides. What a wonderful experience! Thank You.

OTT really made our whole trip!

My mom and I enjoyed our trolley experience tremendously! It went off without a hitch! The guides were all very informative and really added to the sightseeing experience. We were able to see and do so much more because of the trolley. We were also pleased to see that you have wheelchair-accessible options… We have already recommended you to several people.

I’m singing the praises to anyone going to DC

Some friends and I toured DC.  I’m really not into tours but went along with the group. Now I’m singing the praises to anyone going to the DC area. The tour was great and well worth the cost. Tour conductor “Supa Dave” was a riot! My group of 12 agree he should be your conductor of the year.

Drew was fantastic

…we really enjoyed using Old Town Trolley Tours during our week in D.C. All the drivers we had were great, however, Drew was fantastic. His knowledge of history is amazing and his attention to customer service is excellent. I would also like to say thank you to Ms. Margo for her thoughtfulness and kind attention during our time in your great city…

You have some of the most gifted conductors

I went on your tour and just loved it. We used it for the 3 days we were in town! You have some of the most gifted conductors I have ever been a part of. Steven, Super Dave and Grumpy made our trip one that we will never forget! We hope to run into them on our next trip to DC!

It was worth every penny...

I recently visited the DC area with my son. He had only one request; he wanted to see monuments. Well, we purchased tickets with your company. By the end of the day we had seen more monuments than we could believe. My 15-year-old son loved the tour and the guides. He talked all the next day about everything he saw and learned…

...Our favorite activity

Your old town trolley tour is amazing! My friend and I are both 25-year-old students and the trolley was our favorite activity during our week in DC. Definitely fun for all ages! All of our trolley drivers were great, but Super Dave was really Super!

I would recommend it to anyone!

I recently got back from a trip to DC and I just had to write to say what a wonderful experience I had on the trolley tour. I am not much of a sightseeing enthusiast, but our trolley guide Steven was amazing! Not only was he informative and funny, but he was a great driver too! I would definitely come back for another tour…

The best part of our vacation

I just finished the night tour with my family with Jason. I’m writing to say it was an amazing experience and the best part of our vacation to DC. Jason was incredibly informative, and a true entertainer. Thanks for the amazing experience.

The Professor was the best tour guide we have ever had

‘The Professor’ tour guide was truly phenomenal!!! She was THE BEST TOUR GUIDE we have ever had in all the cities we have visited. She was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and so personable. We hated getting off her trolley.

Byron helped make my parents’ first trip to DC an outstanding one!

We did the Monuments by Moonlight tour and had the BEST guide!… Byron! From the moment we stepped on the trolley, we knew we were going to have a fun guide! He was so friendly, so fun (we loved his singing & his dad jokes), and his knowledge of the sights was outstanding! We sang, we laughed, & we cheered all while seeing beautiful monuments & learning a bit more about DC!

Prince James is dynamic!!!!

Prince James was our tour guide and he is dynamic!!!! We so enjoyed his energy and facts he had to share; because of his tour, we have since returned to check out some other areas he pointed out on the tour!

Our DC tours cover a majority of the National Mall, with stops at several Smithsonian museums and National Monuments and Memorials, such as the Washington Monument, the Jefferson Memorial, and the FDR Memorial.

In what order should I see the monuments in DC? + -

It’s important to realize that there is no “best” order to see the monuments in DC. It’s really up to you and what you want to see first. However, if you’re looking for a logical and efficient route, an Old Town Trolley Tour is a fantastic way to see all of the best monuments in Washington. By following the tour, you will be able to see all of the important monuments in a logical order. Start with the National Mall, home to some of the most iconic monuments in DC, such as the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

Continue your monument tour with a visit to the World War II Memorial. This memorial honors the 16 million Americans who served in World War II and the more than 400,000 who gave their lives. It’s a beautiful and moving tribute that will leave you feeling very patriotic.

You can finish up with a stop at Arlington National Cemetery, where many of our nation’s heroes are buried, such as John F. Kennedy and the unknown soldiers from various wars.

How long does it take to visit the National Mall? + -

The National Mall is home to several monuments, including the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, among others.

We suggest deciding which monuments and memorials you want to visit and planning your itinerary accordingly. However, with over 2 miles of history to explore, it can be a daunting task to see everything efficiently. Old Town Trolley Tours has a special package that includes unlimited hop-on, hop-off access to their trolley system for one day. That means visitors can take their time exploring the National Mall at their own pace. The trolleys cover most of the area’s main attractions, including the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, and the Smithsonian museums. In total, the trolley route is approximately one hour and 45 minutes long, meaning visitors can take advantage of the unlimited access to create their own itinerary through the National Mall.

Can you tour the National Mall at night? + -

Many monuments on the National Mall are open 24/7, which makes it possible to experience them at any time of the day or night. However, visiting them during the night provides a unique opportunity to see them at rest. The memorials and landmarks are lit up, creating a mesmerizing contrast against the dark sky. The National Mall at night is peaceful and calming and sets an entirely different mood than during the daytime. There are fewer crowds, which makes the experience more intimate and allows you to take your time to appreciate the structures’ details and beauty.

The Monuments by Moonlight Tour will take you on a journey through history and showcase the stunning beauty of the monuments when they are illuminated. Embark on an exciting journey through DC’s historic neighborhoods. Once you reach the National Mall, you will experience the incredible beauty of the monuments at night. You’ll tour famous landmarks such as the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial and, as you explore them in the evening, you will get fascinating insights into their history and significance. The monuments and memorials are beautifully illuminated at night, giving them an almost ethereal look, which adds to the experience.

How long does it take to visit Washington? + -

You can experience the best of the city in two days, especially if your group chooses Old Town Trolley for your transportation needs. You’ll be able to see the most popular sites without getting lost or spending too much time figuring out the city layout by yourself. The trolley stops at various landmarks across the city, including the U.S. Capitol and the Smithsonian museums. That way, you get more out of your time and an immersive experience!

What are the most famous attractions in Washington, D.C.? + -

There are a few Washington landmarks that definitely cannot be missed:

1. The National Mall is the first attraction that comes to mind while visiting Washington. It is essentially a walkable park that connects the White House to the Lincoln Memorial. The park is adorned with some of the most impressive monuments and memorials, including the Jefferson Memorial, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, and the Washington Monument, which serves as the centerpiece of the park.

2. The White House is the official residence of the President of the United States. It is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and was built in 1800. Visitors can take guided tours of the White House but must secure their bookings months in advance. The White House gardens are open to visitors every day of the year.

3. The 19 Smithsonian museums have something for everybody, from space exhibitions at the Air and Space Museum to the hidden stories of African-American history in the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

4. The United States Capitol Building is the home of the U.S. Congress. Visitors can take guided tours of the Capitol that include visits to the House and Senate galleries and an overview of the U.S. Congress’ history and workings. A new addition is the Capitol Visitor Center, which offers interactive displays that showcase the Capitol’s history.

5. Arlington National Cemetery is America’s most famous military cemetery. It was founded during the American Civil War, and several thousand service members and their families have been laid to rest here over the years. The cemetery features exquisite headstones of service members and families, notably the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which is guarded by the soldiers of the U.S. Army’s 3rd Infantry Regiment.

PI recently had the pleasure of embarking on a trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco and Yosemite, guided by Jordan. His extensive knowledge and genuine enthusiasm made the entire journey unforgettable. From the bustling streets of Los Angeles to the serene landscapes of Yosemite, Jorden's insights into each location's history and significance were enlightening. His expertise in the history of Bruce Lee and the contributions of Chinese laborers to America's railways added a rich, cultural layer to the experience that I deeply appreciated. Our driver, Que, ensured that we traveled safely and comfortably throughout the trip. His driving skills were impeccable, navigating through various terrains with ease and professionalism. One suggestion I have for improving the tour experience would be to arrange for a quieter hotel on the second night. This would provide guests with a more restful evening and enhance the overall comfort of the trip.

I have a very good time on this 8 days tour to Yellowstone National Park. We started in Las Vegas and ended in Salt Lake City Utah. Thank you for our professional driver and tour guide Harry. They both did a very good job to make sure that we have an unforgettable experience. Thank you for CTour Holiday. I highly recommend this Yellowstone National Park YD tour

6 days grand canyon and las Vegas tour. Tour guard: harry sun Bus driver: leo Group ID: bw6 811 Harry saved the experience. The first tour guard Summer is obviously inexpensive, quite annoying but thank to God Harry took over in 3 hours. Harry is professional, knowledgable and manages all incidents well. beyond that, Harry goes extra mile, Once my father can't find the bus in the canyon, he helped searching under the baking sun, for 20 mins. Remember look for Harry in your next trip with Ctour.

Well, my family vacation turned out to be more like a boot camp thanks to our tour guide "Kiwi." His organizational skills were non-existent, communication was a puzzle, and seating arrangements were unclear and confusing. He also late for picking us up. His schedule was a mystery to all of us, I speak both English and Chinese, so especially when he switched to Chinese - I felt like I owe him money lol. He sounded so Rude. His restroom policy was a highlight too: 10 minutes for a break, but don't be two minutes late back or you're left behind, is bro for real? We have like almost 50 people and only one gas station restroom. Sure, he wanted us back on time, but did he really need to lecture us like we're recruits? And to top it off, tipping him was mandatory ???- because clearly, the Gucci shoes that he is wearing and his Coach shirt, wasn't going to pay for itself. No wonder he seemed more interested in cashing in than in providing a decent experience. Class act, really. 0分customer service, 不知所謂

Bad organization, not enough time for each attraction. Each attraction was about 15 mins , sometime a little bit more time but still not enough. Tour guide needed to get more professional and considerate of elderly. They can't walk fast like young people. And also people gonna need to use bathroom, so please don't shame people for that. And the tour guide would ask you to write an review for them at the end of the tour and then they would sit next to you, to make you feel pressure to write a better review for them.

Photo of Jun Y.

Great part, tour guy is experienced, bus driver service is good too, thanks for our tour guy Harry And driver Leo, that are really experienced and knowledgeable . I wish I can get more stories and local history during the tour.bad part , night stay places quality can't guarantee.

Overpriced for what was offered. The package by CT Holiday was a disaster. Guide, Kiwi, was unprofessional, hitting on female participants. Tour advertised as English, but mostly Mandarin. Guide's English was poor, making it hard to understand. My husband and I eventually gave up and just took in the views . Tour felt rushed, more like photo ops than informative experience - bus takes you to places, take photos and quickly move off to the next destination. Kiwi's behavior was inappropriate and unacceptable.KKday description misleading. First day ended early with nothing to do. Avoid at all costs.

My family and I took the "In-depth Yellowstone National Park Tour from Denver: Crazy Horse, Mount Rushmore, Grand Teton National Park, Jackson Hole, Salt Lake City, Great salt lake and Arches National Park". It was a great experience! The highlight of the trip was the springs of Yellowstone national Park. We bused in the early morning and visited multiple sites throughout the 2 days we had. A close second was Arches National Park. The landscape was beautiful, but it was a roasting 86 F that day ouch! There were plenty of opportunities to take photos for the gram at every location though. Generally each day started with a bus ride from the hotel (6 am or 8 am leave) to the sites, followed by a 30-60 min stay. Lunch and dinner were generally decent. The bus would drop everyone at a neighborhood and everyone is free to choose where to eat. Our tour guide (Sean) and driver (Aaron) were excellent. Sean is very friendly and knowledgeable, he was able to guide and teach us on each of the national parks and locations we stopped at. He is bilingual in English and Chinese, so even ABCs like myself can follow along. Aaron is kind and is a safe driver, getting us to the destinations safely. All in all, I would recommend.

TOURING WITH C&R

C&R offers luxurious, interesting travel, the finest hotels, excellent cuisine, and informative travel adventures. No crowding, no worry about fuel, lodging, and driving, no concern about whether you have missed some outstanding place of interest, and best of all, you arrive at your destination relaxed and rested. It’s all there, everything has been arranged for you, nothing of importance has been omitted, and it’s yours for one price. All of our tours include motorcoach transportation, all applicable taxes and gratuities, all listed meals and attractions. Most tours are fully escorted by a company representative.

EQUIPMENT

Our conducted tour patrons are provided with coaches properly heated in cooler seasons, and air-conditioned in warmer time periods. All coaches are equipped with reclining seats, foam rubber cushioning, picture windows, a restroom, and overhead enclosed parcel racks inside the coach for convenient handling of personal belongings.  New wide body motorcoaches have been added to our fleet to provide our tour customers with a most enjoyable riding experience. Conveniences are wider seats for extra seat room, window shades that are individually controlled by each tour patron, individual seat trays, and television monitors.

OVERNIGHT TOURS SEATING ARRANGEMENTS

Seating on the motorcoach is now assigned automatically by a computer program. The rotating seat system is used on all overnight and extended tours. The rotating seat system that we use on our overnight and extended tours goes completely around the bus, and not just up and down one side only. On some tours, seats 1 and 2 are reserved for the tour escort so he/she will have space for his/her lecture material and will have the microphone and extension cord handy for lecturing enroute and at points of interest. Rotation will be explained in detail the first day of the tour by the tour escort. All tour members must participate in the rotating seat plan as this system has been set up for everyone and not just those who care to participate. Sorry, but we must insist on 100% participation!

DAY TOURS SEATING

Seating on the motorcoach is assigned by a computer-generated program and will not be completed until the night before a trip . The computer will generate seats based on a first -come, first-served basis. Please try to book large groups together. You will be given your seat assignment when boarding the motorcoach for your tour. In most cases if you are a single traveler or have an odd-numbered group you will have someone seated next to you. If you prefer to have the seat next to you remain unoccupied, you may purchase an additional seat. If you would like to sit towards the front of the motorcoach, we encourage you to reserve your trip as early as possible. Due to the large number of special requests we receive, special requests will now require a note from your doctor. The note must be received in our office at least 7 days in advance of your tour. If possible, we make different passenger pick-ups along the way as a courtesy to our customers. All tour members must keep their seats going and returning from their day trip unless otherwise instructed by the tour escort.

LUGGAGE

On all overnight and extended tours luggage is limited to one large suitcase. We supervise the handling of your tagged luggage and all necessary gratuities are paid by the tour escort. Small articles such as coats, cameras, and other "personal" items must be handled by the individual. There are parcel racks inside the coach for this purpose. As our overhead racks inside the coach are quite large, tour members may take an extra piece of luggage for personal items (approximately train case size) provided they handle it themselves at all times. Although the coach is locked whenever unoccupied, we are not responsible for valuables or lost articles. Baggage tags will be mailed to you approximately 2 weeks prior to tour departure date (overnight tours only) and all luggage stored in the baggage compartment of the coach must be properly tagged with these baggage tags prior to trip departure.

RESERVATIONS

Reservations may be made by phone or in person at our office during normal business hours. Reservations placed on our answering service after business hours will not be accepted. In order to secure your seat, we suggest you make your reservations as early as possible. As some tours sell out rapidly, we recommend that you book early to avoid running the risk of having to be placed on the waiting list.

It is not our policy to mail confirmations/ tickets after taking reservations. All information about the tour in which you are booking will be given when you call. No other communication will be made. Tickets, if needed, will be given to you on the day of the tour.

If you are unsure about anything, please feel free to call.

We reserve the right to refuse any reservations.

LATE REQUESTS ARE WELCOMED

Last minute telephone requests are always welcomed, since they permit our offering unexpected openings. However, on tours that involve overnight lodging, we must insist that payments be made in full before we secure your accommodations. On all tours, we must insist that late bookings made 24- 48 hours prior to the departure date, be paid in full at the time of reservation.

PAYMENTS

Personal checks, cashier’s checks, or money orders should be made payable to C&R Tours .

For reservations received less than 14 days prior to departure, payment must be received in the form of cash, money order or credit card. A $30 charge will be issued for any checks that are returned to us by the bank.

Please identify your payment by writing the name of the tour and the departure date on the corner of the check or insert a slip of paper with the information listed thereon.

We would also like you to give us your name, address, phone number and name of the tour and date as this information will greatly help us in locating your reservation and recording your payment.

We now accept American Express, VISA, MasterCard and Discover Card. Telephone your payment in today or stop by the office.

RECEIPTS

When your payment is received by mail, we will forward you a receipt. If you bring your payment into the office, you will always be given a printed receipt.

BILLING

We do not send notices of due payments as such a process would be very costly and would result in an increase in the cost of each tour. It is the customer’s responsibility to forward the proper Deposit and/or

Final Payment when due.

Your payment is important as we reserve the right to cancel any reservation(s) which proper payment has not been paid on time. If payment is not received, our computer system will automatically release your reservation(s).

DEPARTURE TIMES

These times will be given to you at the time of booking. If they are not available, you will be telephoned at a later date. Sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances, a call will be late getting to you. You are always welcome to call for your information if you have not received a call.

C&R Tours is not responsible for client misinterpretation of incorrect departure times.

OVERNIGHT TOURS

For all overnight tours, we must request that the following deposit and final payment procedure be observed by tour patrons requesting reservations.

DEPOSITS (Per Person)

A deposit will be required 7 days after making your reservations. All overnight and extended tours will have a payment plan. The payment due dates that are indicated on the plan must be acknowledged to continue holding your reservations. Insurance and Payment Plan information is mailed to you upon confirmation of your reservation.

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

If you must cancel a trip for any reason, a non-waivable $15.00 per person processing administration fee will be charged if cancellation occurs 46 or more days prior to departure. The balance of the tour is fully refundable. If cancellation occurs 45 days or less prior to the tour, the tour member will forfeit the original deposit paid and any non- recoverable expenses.   Cancellations made the day of the tour or passengers who do not arrive for the scheduled departure time will result in a loss of the total cost of the tour. To insure a FULL REFUND, we offer travel insurance through the Travel Safe Insurance Company. All clients making a reservation on an Overnight Tour will automatically receive a travel insurance packet. For more details, see the "Travel Insurance" section of this catalog.

Refund checks will be processed at the end of each month after the tour has been completed.

REFUND FOR UNUSED PORTION OF THE TOUR

If it becomes necessary, for any reason, that a tour member leaves the tour before its completion, a possible refund will be made after the tour returns based upon non- recoverable expenses.

SMOKING OR NON-SMOKING ROOM

When you make a reservation with us for an overnight tour, if it is necessary, please specify at that time whether you would prefer a smoking or a nonsmoking room. Your request will be recorded on the rooming list that will be faxed or mailed to the respective hotel/motel. Most hotels/motels will honor your request if there is availability, but they do not guarantee it.

DAY TOURS

For all day trips, we must request that the following procedure be observed by all tour patrons requesting reservations.

A deposit will be required 7 days after making your reservations. If deposit is not received within the time period described, we reserve the right to remove your name from the tour you have requested, without notification.

FULL BALANCE (Per Person)

Balance is due one month prior to the departure date unless otherwise specified by a payment plan.

There will be NO Refunds for Broadway Shows, Radio City Music Hall performances, Concerts or Sporting events or ANY other events where tickets have been purchased in advance by C&R BUS TOURS. C&R BUS TOURS  will attempt to re-sell such tickets for you if you must cancel but cannot accept full responsibility to do so. Money for these tours will ONLY be refunded if ALL seats are sold.

One Day Tours are fully refundable if cancelled 30 DAYS or MORE prior to your departure date with the exception of Broadway Shows, Radio City Music Hall performances, Concerts or Sporting events or ANY other events where tickets have been purchased in advance by C&R BUS TOURS   These tours will be NON-

REFUNDABLE.

Cancellations received 8 to 29 days prior to your departure date are subject to a $15.00 cancellation fee, less any monies paid in your behalf.

Price: From $368 per person Duration: About 10 hours

This adventure begins on the Las Vegas Strip , where passengers board an air-conditioned bus and head to the West Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. From there, they board a helicopter that descends 4,000 feet, landing on the floor of the canyon. Next, visitors head for Grand Canyon West, which is home to Guano Point, Eagle Point and Hualapai Ranch. There's also an option to brave the world-famous glass Skywalk for sweeping views (and an additional fee).

Good to know: Grand Canyon West is located on the Hualapai Indian Reservation, which is owned and operated by the Hualapai Tribal Nation. In the tribe's traditions, the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River are considered living, spiritual entities. When visiting Grand Canyon West, travelers are immersed in the rich culture and history of the Hualapai Nation.

Price: From $94 per person Duration: About 11 hours

This tour will show you the best of the West Rim, including the glass-bottomed Grand Canyon Skywalk bridge (for an added fee). After being picked up from select Vegas hotels and traveling three hours on an air-conditioned bus, passengers get to spend up to four hours exploring the West Rim. A must-see lookout point at the West Rim is Guano Point, from which you can trek to Highpoint Hike and get a view of the Colorado River.

A lunch box, snacks and plenty of water are included with the tour. One unique feature of this outing is that you get to stop at the Hoover Dam for a photo (but keep in mind this stop is only available seasonally). You can also choose from several upgrades, including a Skywalk admission ticket, a helicopter ride or a boat excursion.

No matter which option you choose, previous travelers say you will enjoy this tour — especially the expert guides, who they describe as both informative and entertaining.

Good to know: Because it's closer to the Las Vegas desert, this side of the Grand Canyon is the warmest year-round, with hot and dry summers, mild shoulder seasons, and occasional snowfall in the winter.

Closeup of the National Park Express logo on a bus.

Price: From $119 per person Duration: About 13 hours

If you're looking to visit the South Rim — the most popular part of Grand Canyon National Park — consider this bus tour from National Park Express. Tour rates include admission to some of the most popular Grand Canyon attractions , including Mather Point and Bright Angel Point , and you'll get about three hours total to explore. Previous travelers commend the tour guides and drivers, noting they are both knowledgable and pleasant.

Lunch, bottled water and a granola bar are included in tour rates. Plus, you can select your own pickup location from several Las Vegas-area hotels and be dropped off at one of three locations (Excalibur, Horseshoe or Treasure Island).

Good to know: Visitors who are looking to experience the wildlife native to the area (such as coyotes and bighorn sheep) often choose the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, which is home to more animal species than the West Rim.

The Grand Canyon Village Observation Tower at the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park.

Price: From $74 per person Duration: About 15 to 16 hours

This bus tour – which takes around four hours to get to the South Rim's Mather Point from Vegas – gives visitors the opportunity to walk along Bright Angel Trail; it leads to Bright Angel Lodge, located in the Village Historic District.

You can also stock up on snacks and souvenirs at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, since the tour only includes a box lunch and water. Or, upgrade your excursion with the guided walking tour add-on. Another historic part of the tour is the scenic drive along the famous Route 66, one of the first U.S. highways.

Previous travelers say this tour makes for a really long day, but that the experience is well worth the time.

Good to know: Located farther from Vegas, the South Rim is cooler, with rainy and snowy winters, and more moderate temperatures in spring, summer and fall.

A couple from a Comedy on Deck Tours Grand Canyon bus tour posing for a picture while sitting on a large rock at the Grand Canyon.

Courtesy of Comedy on Deck Tours

Price: From $139 per adult Duration: About 10.5 hours

This full-day Grand Canyon tour run by Comedy on Deck Tours gives guests several options to customize their experience, such as a VIP Skywalk tour. But there is also a great base package. Guests are treated to not one but two sit-down meals from local restaurants: a freshly prepared breakfast and a barbecue lunch with an incredible view of the canyon.

Additionally, this all-inclusive tour stops at the Hoover Dam on the way to the Grand Canyon, so guests get to experience two national landmarks for the price of one. The professional comedian who doubles as a tour guide makes for an even more fun experience according to previous tourgoers.

Good to know: The West Rim is typically less crowded than the South Rim, so it may be a good option for your Grand Canyon destination if you're hoping to avoid all the tourist congestion.

A couple with a young child sitting on a rock and looking out at the Grand Canyon.

Price: From $100 per person Duration: About 14 hours

This South Rim bus tour from Canyon Tours offers a full day of activities that kids will enjoy. Not only will youngsters marvel at the beauty of the canyon, but they can also have an immersive experience at the IMAX theater, which plays a film that takes you into the center of the canyon. Additionally, your family will get a chance to see the Hoover Dam as you cross the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge.

Lunch and bottled water are included in tour rates.

Good to know: Visitor centers throughout the park offer free activities that allow children 4 and older to earn an official Junior Ranger badge and learn about nature, history and park preservation.

Price: From $599 per person Duration: 4 hours

One of the best Grand Canyon helicopter tours , this excursion features panoramic views of the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, the Mojave Desert and of course, the Grand Canyon. The tour covers roughly 10 miles of the Grand Canyon before landing 3,500 feet below the rim of the Hualapai Indian Territory, where Champagne and light snacks are served. Previous visitors say this is one of the highlights of the tour.

This helicopter tour departs the Las Vegas Strip Terminal, and complimentary shuttle service is available for hotels within a 5-mile radius of the departure point. Note that helicopter weight restrictions apply for safety purposes.

Bus service provider for children with special needs to be wound up

T he High Court has ordered the winding up of a Dublin-based transport company that had provided school bus services for children with special needs.

The order was made in respect of Fair Isle Tours Limited, with a registered address in Lucan, Co Dublin, which employed 37 people.

The firm had provided school bus services for Bus Éireann for children with special needs across Ireland, as well as services for other bodies including the HSE and Irish rail. The company had intended to expand its services to include bus tours. However the business suffered, and all of it services essentially stopped, due to the restrictions that accompanied the Covid-19 pandemic.

The company claimed it never recovered from the fall-out caused by the pandemic. It also claimed it sustained further losses due to the increase of the businesses running costs caused by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine that began in early 2022.

It also suffered another blow in late 2022 when its founder, Martin Cowell, died suddenly.

At yesterday’s vacation sitting of the High Court, Mr Justice Garrett Simons said that he was satisfied to appoint experienced insolvency practitioner Shane McAleer as the company’s liquidator.

It was clearly insolvent, and it was just and equitable that the firm be wound up, the judge said. He also ordered the company’s directors, Elizabeth Cowell, the wife of the late Mr Cowell, and their son David Cowell file statements of affairs within the next eight weeks.

The company, represented in court by David Allen Bl, instructed by Amoss Solicitors, petitioned the court for the liquidator’s appointment.

The company currently has an excess of liabilities over assets of more than €295,000.

The directors had resolved that they had no option other than seek to have the company wound up, counsel said. There was no opposition to the application to appoint Mr McAleer as liquidator.

Separately, Mr Justice Simons dismissed an application by Close Brothers Limited, trading as Close Brothers Commercial Finance, seeking an injunction requiring the company and its directors to return to the applicant 10 vehicles it claimed it had leased to Fair Isles Tours.

Close Brothers argued the vehicles, which it claims it owns, fall outside of the liquidation and should be returned to the applicant. The judge however rejected the application on grounds that the issue over those vehicles should be a matter for discussion between the applicant and the liquidator.
