What to Wear to Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, Broken Down by Era

Whether you duked it out with Ticketmaster for tickets or are just going as a very lucky plus-one, you need an outfit that matches the vibe.

If you’re anything like team Marie Claire, you’ve been waiting for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour from the minute that it was announced. And whether you duked it out with Ticketmaster for tickets or are just going as a very lucky plus-one, you need an outfit that matches the vibe. Or, should I say, matches the eras of Swift’s music.

As a fan who got to attend the show in Boston recently, I was amazed at the wide array of looks at my show. Fans were decked out in Reputation -era snake print, glitter-encrusted face paint inspired by Swift's Lovers album cover, and plenty of DIY’d T-shirts from her Speak Now days. The bottom line? The looks varied widely, proving that you can truly go in any direction when picking your outfit for the Eras tour.

I love getting dressed up for concerts, but I also want to make sure that I can wear my new pieces again and again. It was a question I asked myself over and over while shopping for my own Eras Tour ensemble: Is the look good for me for right now, or good for me forever? In the end, I opted for a bedazzled mesh dress that I could also wear again on a night out over jeans or a slip dress . For the show, I opted to style it over a bodysuit for added coverage.

If you’re heading to the show this summer, there are a few key things to keep in mind, no matter what you wear. The show is long—five hours from the beginning of the opening act to the end of Swift’s set!—so you’ll want to wear comfortable clothing. Plus, if you’re the kind of fan who spends the majority of the concert jumping and dancing like you’re alone in your bedroom, you’ll want to wear something that you don’t have to worry about adjusting. Comfortable footwear is a must, so make sure that your new shoes don’t require breaking in before you go. Finally, the temperature tends to drop at night—especially if you’re at one of Swift’s rainier shows—so packing waterproof layers in your stadium-approved clear bag is key. (I wish I had packed a sweater.)

Ahead, I rounded up a selection of pieces for you to wear to the Eras Tour, broken down by Era. I’ve tried to think of everything: the shoes I’ve selected are known for being comfortable from the first wear. The dresses are comfortable to both sit and move around in. The jackets add warmth when you need them. Plus, many of the pieces below fall in line with some of summer 2023's biggest fashion trends .

Taylor Swift's Debut Album Era

Music artist Taylor Swift performs during the Academy of Country Music New Artists' Party for a Cause show at the MGM Grand Conference Center May 14, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

If you’re dying for a debut self-titled album Secret Song at your show, wear something that harkens back to Swift’s first-ever era. This time in her career was defined by pastel blue and green shades, her iconic curling-iron curls, and her country twang. Consider cowboy boots and sweet tulle skirts.

Prefer gold to silver? The Fearless era is for you. This album had it all: Fireworks! A sparkly gold guitar! A gold fringed dress! More was more. To make it work, incorporate gold into your look via a pair of trendy sneakers , a going-out top in the hue, or by wearing a pair of viral gold jeans.

Speak Now was defined by one color and one color only: A rich purple. It's the color Swift is wearing on the cover of the album, and it's the shade that has stayed attached to the record ever since. Sweet midi dresses and shoes that come in the same shade are go-tos for this era.

Taylor Swift played the first of 13 North American stadium dates on The RED Tour at Ford Field in front of a sold-out crowd of more than 48,000 fans on May 4, 2013 in Detroit, Michigan.

Red makes for an easy outfit because it only requires that you wear one color—red. Swift also went slightly preppy while on tour for the album, opting for a classic Breton striped shirt and red high-waisted denim . No matter which outfit vibe you choose, don’t forget your heart-shaped sunglasses.

My personal favorite era as someone who loves to wear all-black, Reputation- inspired outfits are perfect for those who prefer a little drama. From the actual sheer mesh dress I wore to my own concert to a statement-making choker necklace priced at under $50, this era is all about going all-out.

If you love playing with color, consider a Lover- era ensemble for your concert. The key colors for this era were bright Barbiecore pink and rich blue, but pastel shades like baby pink and lavender —a trending color for 2023—were also popular. Go all-out with a heart-shaped stencil around your eye, or heart-shaped earrings.

Folklore was a departure from the previous maximalist Lover era. The aesthetic for the album was a combination of woodland fairy and cottagecore. On-stage, this translates to flowing summer dresses in muted shades like olive green. IRL, pair lacy layers with chunky cardigans and sweet Mary Jane shoes.

Cozy-core fans, the Evermore era is for you. Taylor’s second pandemic album was full of woodland references but, unlike its predecessor, the vibe this time around was very much fall-inspired. Flannel dresses, comfy Birkenstock sandals, and other comfy pieces reign supreme. Shades to highlight include marigold yellow and burnt red.

Good thing silver everything is one of 2023’s biggest trends—Taylor is obsessed with the shade for her Midnights era. 100+ Taylor Swift Eras Tour Outfit Ideas + What to Wear to A Taylor Swift Concert!

Updated: Jan 17

country eras tour outfits

It's been a long time coming but.... it's been a crazy few years for miss Taylor Swift. She's dropped hint after hint, easter egg after easter egg, song after song, music video after music video!! She's truly a great entertainer and artist, and genuinely one of my favorite musicians to fangirl over.

I got tickets to Taylor Swift's Era's tour, and am trying to decide what era I should go as. . I can't wait to see what Taylor Swift's concert outfits are for this tour!

What do I wear to a Taylor Swift concert? Especially to the Eras tour?

Attendees are planning to wear outfits inspired by their favorite Taylor Swift era. There are ten eras total: Taylor Swift (Self-Titled), Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights. Each era has its own vibe, color aesthetic, and specific pieces Taylor wore during those periods. For example, Reputation is an absolute classic, with snake print, black leather, and tons of sass. Or maybe the Red era? I mean, that one IS my favorite Taylor Swift album. Come as a sad autumn girl with a red scarf, black high-waisted shorts and oxfords— that's definitely a vibe.

But as I was thinking through this, I thought maybe I could make mood boards and help others find the perfect Taylor Swift outfits from amazon to wear to Taylor Swift's concert on her The Eras Tour! I assure you, while putting this list together, with each era I worked on I listened to the album ;) Guaranteed inspiration!

Because of each stadium's bag policy, concert-goers need to bring a clear see-through bag to the venue. Here are a few realyl cute ones I've found. The first is pretty simple, but you can find clear bags that are really stylized to fit your eras tour outfit!

I'm also seeing a lot of people at Taylor Swift's concerts wearing body glitter and hair gems! Here are some options online that are great for doing glitzy hair and makeup the day of the Eras tour concert. The hair gem style has been SUPER popular, and you'll find a lot of other gals at the tour that are rocking similar!

To start off, here are a few pieces that would be good for any of her eras. Concert attendees are wearing "Friendship Bracelets" (a nod to the song You're On Your Own Kid), and the era's charm bracelet as well, which are both available on Amazon!

Jump to Each Taylor Swift Era

If you click on each link, it'll jump to each era and has Taylor Swift eras tour outfit ideas for each. I'll even include items you can buy that fit into each outfit!

NEW UPDATE! Taylor Swift's Eras Tour stage outfits

Taylor Swift Self-Titled Album

Taylor Swift Debut Era

T-Swift's self-titled album is a classic, with songs like "Picture to Burn", "Stay Beautiful", and "Should've Said No". With so many Taylor Swift album era options, this one will surely stand out and be super identifiable.

Taylor Swift's debut album is a whimsical journey through the enchanting world of teenage dreams and heartaches. Bursting with charm and a sprinkle of country sweetness, the album encapsulates the essence of Taylor's early years as a rising star. The aesthetic is like a vintage photo album, filled with snapshots of innocent crushes, teardrop-stained diaries, and the magic of first loves. The vibe is undeniably cute, as Taylor's relatable lyrics and catchy melodies transport you to a world where love letters are written in glittery pens, and every emotion is felt with an extra touch of sparkle. It's a musical hug from the past that leaves you with a warm, fuzzy feeling and a desire to dance around your room like no one's watching.

How to dress in Taylor Swift (Self-Titled) era outfits

When you want to dress like the self-titled Taylor Swift album, you've got to transport yourself back to good ol' 2006! That means low rise flare jeans, floral dresses, and plenty of cowgirl boots. Taylor's look back then involved more soft, butterfly-like looks that harken back to her country roots.

The Taylor Swift Debut vibe: Teals, greens, butterfly, cowgirl, floral, low rise jeans, and flannels.

Where to find these Taylor Swift (Debut Album) outfits:

Moving onto Taylor Swift's sophomore album, Fearless...

Taylor Swift Fearless Albums Taylor's version

Fearless Era (Plus Taylor's Version)

Fearless is when Taylor Swift really started to gain speed in the music industry, and the era evokes an true nostalgia for the early Tay years!

Taylor Swift's "Fearless" album, both the original and Taylor's version, exude a timeless charm that feels like a musical hug from a dear friend. The aesthetic is a blend of sunlit fields and starlit nights, capturing the essence of young love and fearless adventures. With a dash of country twang and a sprinkle of pop magic, the album's vibe is irresistibly cute, much like a handwritten love letter sealed with a kiss. Taylor's reimagined version adds an extra layer of nostalgia, like finding a cherished childhood toy in the attic. It's a journey back to a place where heartbreaks were mended with laughter, and every melody carried the promise of a new beginning. The vibe is like a cozy sweater, warm and comforting, inviting you to relive those moments and create new memories with the same wide-eyed wonder.

Taylor Swift Fearless era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift Fearless era outfits

She loves sparkly dresses. Always has, always will. But this was the first era to REALLY bring that to the forefront. Soft whimsical touches, earthy kind of feelings, with a little bit of edginess.

The Taylor Swift Fearless vibe: Golds, sparkly dresses, fairy-tale fluff, elastic headbands, cowgirl boots, and boho.

Where to find these outfits:

Next up is Taylor Swift's third album, Speak Now! You can get inspired by the original Speak Now era, or the new Taylor's Version.

Taylor Swift speak now album era

Speak Now Era

A fairytale in a nutshell, Speak Now era is like a sparkly purple dream.

Taylor Swift's "Speak Now" album is a whimsical fairy tale spun with the threads of love, courage, and a sprinkle of daydream magic. The aesthetic is like a storybook come to life, filled with enchanted forests and castle walls where Taylor fearlessly takes center stage. The vibe is both daring and adorable, as if each song were a secret whispered in a moonlit garden. With a blend of country roots and pop melodies, the album dances through the pages of a romantic novel, where every chorus is a chapter and every bridge a thrilling plot twist. It's a musical adventure that invites you to join Taylor in a world where love conquers all, and each note is a charming invitation to step into a dreamscape where happily ever afters are set to a delightful melody.

Taylor Swift speak now era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift Speak Now era outfits

I tapped into a few iconic Taylor Swift outfits from the Speak Now era, which welcomed in her love for oxfords, vintage pieces, and an overall romantic take on everything. Finding the perfect halter purple dress from Speak Now era is ESSENTIAL. I've added the one I found below!

The Taylor Swift Speak Now vibe: Purple EVERYTHING, the number 13, slouchy beanies, flannels, twee Oxford heels, whimsical dresses, and revenge. Lots of revenge.

Here are some more modern versions of the Speak Now era (now with Taylor's Version!!)

Next is my FAVORITE era, the RED era!

Taylor Swift red album era

Red Era (Plus Taylor's Version)

Arguably the best Taylor Swift album, hands down. RED is my personal favorite from her discography, mostly because this is the era where I because a HUGE Taylor Swift fan, rather than just a casual listener. All of the raw pain and anguish in this album make this era (and the TV era!) probably what I'm going to choose for the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour!

Taylor Swift's RED era is a sartorial symphony of passion and bold statements. The clothing aesthetic is a captivating blend of vintage glamour and modern sophistication, reflecting the album's emotional rollercoaster. Taylor dons iconic red dresses that symbolize both heartbreak and empowerment, showcasing her fearless style evolution. Picture timeless silhouettes, chic high-waisted shorts, and classic red lips that become a signature touch. The vibe is a mix of retro vibes and contemporary chic, with Taylor effortlessly balancing elegance and edge. From the glitzy red-carpet gowns to the laid-back yet stylish streetwear, every outfit in the RED era tells a story of self-discovery and resilience. It's a fashion journey that captures the essence of love, loss, and the vibrant hues of a life lived unapologetically.

Taylor Swift RED era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift RED era outfits

This era probably has some of the most iconic fashion moments of Taylor Swift's career. The Taylor Swift red tour outfits were amazing. The "We Are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together" and "22" looks just scream 2012! Now ten years later in 2022, this style is still just as amazing and showstoppping... and iconically RED . Try to find a good striped shirt and some tailored high waisted shorts, and add a pair of red Keds to complete the look!

The Taylor Swift RED vibe: The color red (bright, like the original, or deep, like Taylor's Version), spectator Oxford shoes, heart sunglasses, fedora hats, high wasted shorts, and KEDS.

The "Not a lot going on at the moment" shirt is a classic for sure. You can buy it below. Also, with Taylor's new tour, she has a shirt that says "A LOT going on at the moment" too, which is featured here where I have some outfit ideas that are inspired by her concert looks from this Eras era!

During the show, Taylor gives her fedora-type hat to someone special in the audience. You can match her by wearing a black hat from her RED era!

From the RED Taylor's Version album cover, don a trench coat and a burnt Sienna newsboy cap, and the autumn leaves start to fall like pieces into place for your Taylor Swift concert outfit.

I Bet You Think About Me - Taylor Swift concert outfit idea

Something from RED Taylor's Version that is an instant showstopper: the I Bet You Think About Me outfit!

Here's where you can grab it:

Onto many people's favorite -- 1989!! This is the most recent Taylor's Version to come out. "1899 (Taylor's Version)" is not just an album; it's a captivating invitation to step into a lyrical ballroom where each song is a dance through time, and Taylor is the enchanting guide, gracefully leading us through the echoes of a century past.

Taylor Swift 1989 album era

A HUGE era for Taylor, commercially and her tour! She has so many fun and glitzy looks from this 1989 era. I pulled some Taylor Swift tour costumes from amazon that will make people double-take.... wait, is that Taylor Swift?? No? Shake it off!

Taylor Swift 1989 era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift 1989 era outfits

Be sure to wear plenty of sequins, shiny fabrics, and two-piece outfits for a true 1989 era look from Taylor Swift! Add on the quintessential white rayon-type sunglasses to look like a true 1989 fan.

The Taylor Swift 1989 vibe: Sequins! Lots of blues and silver sparkles, crop tops, white rayon sunglasses, and sparkly fringe.

One of these outfits is a callback to Taylor's look at the 2016 Grammy Awards. I think it's such a unique outfit to wear to the Era's tour, because it's not exactly a "era" look, but something SO iconic from that era! Also, can you GET more 1989 than a pair of white rayon sunglasses? They were a staple piece in Taylor Swift's 1989 era.

A callback to a Swift inside joke, the yellow "No It's Becky" shirt is available on amazon!

country eras tour outfits

Seagulls everywhere, on everything. With the new 1989 Taylor's Version coming out, the coastal pale blue vibe is going to be a good choice.

If you want to be a little silly, you could come literally dressed like a seagull:

Reputation Era

This era is the most similar to my own personal style, so when I attended the Rep tour, I was living my best life!! All her songs have a pop edge to them, so make sure to dress accordingly.

Taylor Swift reputation era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift Reputation era outfits

Wear as much snake print, black, fishnet, and combat-wear you can find. The more you look like a hell-raiser, the better for Taylor Swift reputation outfits. I've added in a few cool amazon t-shirts in here as well from the era!

The Taylor Swift Reputation vibe: Snake print, black sequins, camouflage print, chains, combat boots, and slicked back hair.

Much like her album cover, you can find a newspaper Reputation dress below!

Taylor swift lover album era

Lover was all bright pink and multicolored, and it was AMAZING. The fun songs (and some deep love songs) created an incredible album from Taylor Swift.

Taylor Swift Lover era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift Lover era outfits

Pink, lots of pink. Actually, all pink. Just kidding! I put together some outfit ideas that are inspired by some of her performance looks and music video outfits from the Lover era.

The Taylor Swift Lover vibe: Lots of pink, multicolor, fringe, pearls, iridescence, hearts, and sweetness all around.

Grab a hot pink jacket and pearl sunglasses to look like Taylor from "You Need to Calm Down"! Choosing to wear a pastel sky print is such a Lover look, similar to her album cover!

Check out these gorgeous Lover-esque earrings and accessories:

Just like in the "ME!" music video, you can wear a heart shaped top like Taylor for the concert.

country eras tour outfits

Makeup for your Lover eras tour outfit

If you're wanting to dress up as Taylor's Lover era, it's a sweet detail to do the heart shape makeup over her eye like she does on her album cover! In order to do that, you'll need two main items: liquid latex and skin-safe pink glitter. You can find them here:

I've used the liquid latex above before and it works really well. All you'll need to do is outline the heart around your eye with the liquid latex, wait for it to get tacky, and then apply the pink glitter!

Taylor swift Folklore album era

Folklore Era

If you aren't the sparkly-dress Taylor Swift fan, and want to be a sad cottage-core girl, here is your chance! This album screams alone-in-the-woods-and-in-the-feels.

Taylor Swift Folklore era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift Folklore era outfits

Tap into the cottage-core look and opt for some comfy sweaters, cardigans, and ditsy floral prints. I've grabbed a few items that look similar to the outfits she wore on some of her photoshoots from this era.

The Taylor Swift folklore vibe: Knit sweaters, plaid jackets, chunky boots, mushrooms, trees and a general folksy vibe.

Taylor Swift evermore album era

Evermore Era

Am I crazy to say that Evermore is one of my favorite TSwift albums? It's definitely the most forgotten one, but WOW does it have some bops, both sad and lovely.

Taylor Swift evermore era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift Evermore era outfits

This era was so short-lived, but it gave us some beautiful looks! An easy go-to would be the brown/orange plaid jacket from Evermore. (I've linked on similar) Also, the Willow music video is a huge inspiration for these, and other Swifties will know exactly what you're going for!

The Taylor Swift evermore vibe: Deep plaids, ethereal jewelry, greens, leather boots, turtlenecks, and flown dresses.

From the "Willow" music video, you can choose a more whimsical and fairy-like look to fit in with the Evermore era! Below you can also find a dark green velvet cape like she wears during her Evermore set at the Eras Tour!

Taylor Swift Midnights album era

Midnights Era

Midnights only came out a few weeks ago while I'm writing this, so I'm still reeling from this album release! I know from the second I hear "Anti-Hero" that it would be an instant classic.

Taylor Swift Midnights era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift Midnights era outfits

When it comes to the looks from Midnights era, they span from glitzy blue midnight dresses and plenty of sparkles, mixed with vintage looks that evoke a sense of 70s retro. Combining these all together will be the ultimate Midnights tour outfit!

The Taylor Swift Midnights vibe: Honestly, Taylor's Midnights aesthetic is all over the place, but can be boiled down to: 70s vintage, starry night, retro, oranges, blues, lavender, clocks, and anything, and I mean anything that is bejeweled.

Inspired by her 70's glam looks in much of the material for the release of her album midnights, you can don some burnt orange and corduroy and fit in well! The top and fur jacket look similar to the starry dress Taylor wore out when she was promoting "Midnights". For a more casual "Midnights" look, you can wear this sheer celestial top as well. Check out some of these that also scream "Lavender Haze"!

Where're ya going? You going out tonight? ;)

You can find a corset similar to Taylor's from her "Bejeweled" music video!

Taylor Swift's Stage Outfits

If you want to come to the concert the MOST prepared, you can dress like the current Era: the Eras era! Pretty meta, right? Here are some of the outfits that Taylor's been wearing on her tour that you can recreate in your concert outfit:

country eras tour outfits

Stage outfit 1— Midnights era Lavender Haze jacket

Taylor wears a pink/lavender sparkly dress with a fun faux-fur lavender coat. You can find a super sparkly dress and add a lavender faux fur coat, and look just like Taylor!

country eras tour outfits

Stage outfit 2— Evermore era pink dress

Taylor's whimsical pink dress during her Evermore era is GORGEOUS. Play up your own ethereal vibe and wear a similar dress to the Eras tour!

country eras tour outfits

Stage outfit 3— Reputation era jumpsuit

Taylor wears this awesome one-legged jumpsuit with red snakes all over it. You can buy a black sparkly jumpsuit and attach red snake appliqués to create a look similar to it.

country eras tour outfits

Stage outfit 4— Sparkly RED era jacket

The RED era (my favorite!) has Taylor donning a long red sparkle trench coat. You can look similar to this in either this red velvet long trench I've found, or a men's sparkly suit jacket!

country eras tour outfits

Stage outfit 5— "A LOT Going On At The Moment" shirt

She's reinvented her own RED era look with a shirt that instead of saying "Not a lot going on at the moment" it says "A LOT going on at the moment"! I've found a shirt that says exactly that new phrase on Amazon. Taylor also pairs it with a pair of sparkly black bottoms and a black hat.

country eras tour outfits

Stage outfit 6— 1989 era green two piece

A very Taylor typical outfit, more sparkles! And this time we're working with fun and bright green. She has a sparkle fringed two piece set on stage.

I hope you find some awesome inspiration on what to wear to Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour! See ya there :)

Such cute outfits and a big help

Amazing! It really lifts my spirits that I've helped other Swifties find a good outfit for the Era tour. I hope your concert is epic!

This was so helpful I got so many compliments on my outfit

Yay!!!! I'm so, so glad this helped, it makes me so happy. I'm excited for my tour stop (Pittsburg!) to show off my Taylor Swift era outfit; I'm going with Red.

This is an amazing resource! I’m still looking for Red inspo. Do you have any pant/shirt ideas? I’m not into dresses that much.

Thank you so much! If I find anything worth sharing, I’ll put the links down here.

It’s almost time to meet Taylor Swift at midnight (and all the other times of day she’s ever sung about), as the long-awaited Eras Tour kicks off in Arizona on March 17 before heading across the U.S. all spring and summer—then, presumably, the world. The artist is making her live music comeback stronger than a ‘90s trend , as she's dropped a whopping four new albums since her 2018 Reputation tour, in addition to two “Taylor’s Version” rereleases. While the Ticketmaster fiasco resulted in a literal Senate hearing, fans are now getting excited to hear the new songs for the first time live—and confused about what to wear to such an all-encompassing concert.

If you survived “The Great War” of ticket sales but are stumped about your Eras ensemble or itching to give that Capital One card another workout, you need to calm down and build an outfit around your favorite Taylor Swift album. Whether pastel music festival vibes are your Lover , an invisible string ties you to Folklore , or you just want to stay in Midnights ' lavender haze, we’ll help you mastermind the perfect look. See Taylor Swift Eras Tour outfits for every album ahead, so you can show fellow Swifties you’re still bejeweled when you walk into the concert.

Taylor Swift/Debut Album

If you’ve been a Swiftie since the beginning or want to show your soft spot for her country era, grab a pen and an old napkin and take note of the artist’s go-to teen staples: understated midi dresses, classic cowboy boots , and a neutral, bohemian color palette. Let your hair run wild and free, and you have the perfect recipe for singing along to “Picture to Burn.”

Swift’s sophomore album, Fearless , was a "Love Story" full of the hopes and fears we all feel when coming of age. It won the 2010 Grammy for Album of the Year and recently got another moment in the spotlight as the inaugural Taylor’s Version rerelease (raise your hand if you're hoping to hear “Mr. Perfectly Fine” live). If you belong with the era's sweet late-aughts style, go for a sequined mini dress, a rose necklace, and simple leather sandals.

Reformation

Don't Let Disco

There's a lot of buzz around Speak Now right now as many fans are convinced that Swift has it slated for the next rerelease, citing everything from the "Bejeweled" music video to recent awards show looks. If you're excited for the world to finally realize that "Dear John" walked so "All Too Well" could run so "All Too Well (10 Minute Version) [Taylor's Version] [From the Vault]" could fly, embody the album's complex fairytale energy with a Bordeaux-colored princess mini dress, a delicate tie blouse, and whimsical crystal earrings.

The Red era contained multitudes: Think Harry Styles, Karlie Kloss and the squad, and endless country-pop crossover hits that highlighted Swift's ability to transcend genres. In its Taylor's Version renaissance, vault tracks like the "All Too Well" 10-minute version and the "Nothing New" collaboration with Phoebe Bridgers dominated, yet the album's signature color scheme and vintage-meets-modern vibes have remained as relevant as ever. Pair a pop of red—we love the idea of some statement pants—with a white T-shirt , Ray-Bans, and your favorite red lipstick for a moment that will have you dancing like you're 22.

Good American

1989 was a new beginning for Taylor Swift in multiple ways: It was her first pop album, she had an iconic new bob hairstyle , and she'd just moved to New York City. As she marked her rebirth with songs like "Wildest Dreams" and "Style," the star rocked an energized, instantly iconic wardrobe of crop tops, matching sets, and statement accessories. If you're in a style rut, shake it off with a crop-top-and-skirt combo plus some colorful heels, all of which can work for countless going-out looks long after your Eras Tour concert has come and gone.

Abercrombie & Fitch

Kendall Miles

When rumors about her hit a boiling point, Swift didn't back down. Instead, she released Reputation , an album that simultaneously leaned into her so-called "snake" side and shared the sweet vulnerability of falling in love. If you're in your Rep Era, you can't go wrong with leather on leather, especially if you top it off with some serpentine jewelry.

Chelsea Paris

The Lover era, which featured bubblegum bops like "Cruel Summer" and "It's Nice to Have a Friend" (the latter was recently part of the M3GAN trailer), was a time for pastel music festival vibes and euphoric romanticism. If you spent 2020 preparing for the Lover Fest that never happened, now is finally your chance to shine: Pair a candy-colored crop top and shorts for a danceable yet fun look, then finish it off with a fun hair look like temporary streaks or rainbow tinsel.

When Swift surprise-dropped Folklore during the 2020 lockdown, it marked the start of a stripped-back indie era that attracted a whole new fanbase in the process. If dark academia has captured your heart or you stream "Cardigan" and "Betty" on repeat, emphasize how smart and mysterious you are by bringing a book to the concert (spoiler alert: It's actually a purse). Paired with a ruffled, high neck blouse and patchwork shorts, you have a dreamy Taylor Swift Eras Tour outfit that pays tribute to storytelling and simpler times.

Well Read Company

Evermore is Folklore 's sister record, wandering deeper into Swift's storytelling interest to explore themes of pain, healing, and revenge. If you fell in love with this under-appreciated era, channel the cozy yet cathartic vibes with a flannel dress, leather sneakers, and earrings that will make you feel like part of the "No Body, No Crime" universe.

Want Les Essentiels

Pamela Love

If Midnights are your favorite time these days, we totally relate. Swift's latest album explores the range of things we think about when much of the world is asleep—from the introspection of "Anti-Hero" to the major confidence rush of "Karma"—and the cosmic-meets-'70s aesthetic is exactly what we needed. Meet Taylor at midnight in a lounge suit paired with bejeweled celestial earrings and platform sandals that help you stay in that lavender haze.

Taylor Swift kicked off her Eras Tour in Glendale, Ariz. last night, delivering a 44-song set that lasted more than three hours. Somehow, the only time Swift paused throughout the night was to make a quick outfit change, disappearing into thin air only to return in a brand-new (and often bejeweled) look.

Instead of journeying through her 10 albums chronologically, Swift opted to mix up her musical eras, starting with 2019’s “Lover” before transitioning into 2020’s “Evermore.” “Reputation” was up next, followed by a short stint in “Speak Now,” during which she only performed “Enchanted.” Songs from “Red,” “Folklore” and “1989” came after, and then Swift performed a short acoustic set consisting of “Mirrorball” and “Tim McGraw” from her first, self-titled album — a tradition she said she’ll change up for every show, without repeating a song. Swift ended the night with her most recent release, “Midnights,” bringing fans back to the present.

Each era was accompanied by jaw-dropping sets, stunning choreography and, of course, custom outfits to represent each specific moment in Swift’s life and career. See all of the looks from the first night of the Eras Tour below.

Taylor Swift has some incredible Eras Tour outfits

Who designs Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour outfits?

Taylor has been bringing out the big guns for her global tour. Notable designers include Fausto Puglisi who heads up Italian fashion house Roberto Cavalli. Fausto describes himself  as a Sicilian maverick. He designed 12 of the looks from Taylor’s Eras shows, including the skintight snake catsuit from the Reputation era, and the gold-fringed minidress from her Fearless era.

And Taylor isn’t the only superstar he has dressed – J-Lo and Zendaya have also had the honour. He also designed the cape that Madonna wore on her Madame X album.

Another designer that has been tapped by Taylor for her stage costumes is Donatella Versace. The legendary designer was the mastermind behind Taylor’s bejewelled bodysuits that feature in the Lover section of her shows.

And rounding off the Lover looks are a pair of custom-made, jewel-encrusted, knee-high boots from none other than Christian Louboutin. With their signature red soles, Louboutins are the footwear of choice for the rich, famous and impeccably dressed.

Italian dressmaker Alberta Ferretti also has a starring role on the Eras Tour. Her ethereal and dreamy gowns complements the Folklore section of Taylor’s shows completely.

Taylor has also selected a number of lesser-known names to wear alongside fashion powerhouses like Oscar de la Renta and Ellie Saab. Indie designer Anish Gupta created the sequin slogan T-shirts emblazoned with her iconic lyrics “WE ARE NEVER EVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER, LIKE EVER”

And with that impressive list of designers, we couldn't resist the urge to round up all the Eras Tour stage ensembles she's worn so far, check out all the Taylor tour looks (as well as her newest additions)...

Taylor Swift opens with the Lover era

Taylor added a new purple bodysuit to her collection

Taylor starts the beginning of every show looking drop-dead gorgeous in a custom Versace sequined bodysuit and sparkly Louboutin heels, setting the bar high for the rest of the concert's wardrobe!

She later accessories the look halfway through the 'Lover' set when she sports a bedazzled blazer over the top of the opening ensemble – wow!

  • 'Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince'
  • 'Cruel Summer'
  • 'The Man'
  • 'You Need to Calm Down'
  • 'Lover'
  • 'The Archer'

Taylor's Fearless setlist made everyone nostalgic

Fearless

Next on the setlist was Taylor's 'Fearless' era, and she channelled her second studio album by stepping out in a re-imagination of her iconic glittered fringed dress.

She sings three tracks from 'Fearless (Taylor's Version)' all whilst twirling around with her rhinestones guitar, it's like its 2008 all over again!

  • 'Fearless'
  • 'You Belong With Me'
  • 'Love Story'

Taylor stunned in her Evermore get-up

She debuted a sparkly 'evermore' dress in New Jersey

Taylor brought the 'evermore' record alive when she donned a whimsical burnt yellow dress that seemed like it leapt straight from the stories of her folky album.

She even brought along a moss-covered piano to complete the 'evermore' aesthetic when singing 'Champagne Problems', in total she treated 70,000 fans to performances of five 'evermore' tracks.

  • ''tis the damn season'
  • 'willow'
  • 'marjorie'
  • 'champagne problems'
  • 'tolerate it'

Taylor brought back the drama of her Reputation tour

Reputation Taylor made a return

The 33-year-old pop star called back to her Reputation World Tour with the fiery look she donned during the next segment of the concert.

She brought all the drama as she performed in a snake-embellished one-legged bodysuit from Roberto Cavalli.

Taylor delivered four unforgettable 'Reputation' tracks, even bringing out dancers wearing a host of her most iconic looks during her 'Look What You Made Me Do' performance.

  • '…Ready for It?'
  • 'Delicate'
  • 'Don’t Blame Me'
  • 'Look What You Made Me Do'

Taylor brings the Speak Now's fairytale vibes to The Eras Tour

She honoured 'Speak Now (Taylor's Version)' with a new purple dress

It may have been short but sweet but Taylor made quite the impact with the one song she chose to sing from the 'Speak Now' record.

Her fairytale-esque dresses are back for The Eras Tour as she belts out fan-favourite track 'Enchanted' whilst wearing a sequinned ball gown fit for a princess!

The gowns are strikingly similar to the Valentino one she wore during the 'Speak Now' tour back in 2012.

Taylor's iconic 'Red' looks are back on the stage

Taylor wore her '22' music video t-shirt

The next section of the tour sees Taylor don three looks that call back to her 'Red' album with looks we've seen before!

She kicks off this era with '22' and even sports one of her outfits from the music video, and of course, she just had to close the set with 'All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version)' – she sure knows how to treat us!

  • '22'
  • 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together'
  • 'I Knew You Were Trouble'
  • 'All Too Well (10 Minute Version)'

Taylor looks ethereal in her Folklore looks

Taylor wore a new green 'folklore' dress in Tampa

Potentially one of the longest sets in the concerts, Taylor opts for a floaty floor length dress as she sings seven 'Folklore' songs!

Each night she rocks a Kate Bush-esque billowy gown to sing some of her most poetic tracks, giving fans an IRL rendition of this album for the first time – all whilst looking like an ethereal goddess.

  • 'invisible string' / 'the 1'
  • 'betty'
  • 'the last great american dynasty'
  • 'august'
  • 'illicit affairs'
  • 'my tears ricochet'
  • 'cardigan'

Taylor is the 1989 pop princess all over again

Taylor debuted an orange two-piece on April 13

Swift gave us another blast from the past with 1989 World Tour references whilst she sang the likes of 'Style', 'Shake It Off' and 'Bad Blood'.

She did so whilst wearing a bejewelled two-piece co-ord that just oozes her 2014 era, and the look comes in hot pink and emerald!

  • 'Style'
  • 'Blank Space'
  • 'Shake It Off'
  • 'Wildest Dreams'
  • 'Bad Blood'

Taylor stuns in romantic gowns for her acoustic set

Taylor wears a ruffled for her acoustic set

Taylor dials down the drama during her acoustic set that becomes the penultimate section of the show.

Each night she surprises fans with a stripped-back set of two songs every night that haven't before been in the setlist.

On opening night she sang 'Tim McGraw' and 'Mirrorball', read this article to get the full list of every surprise song she's performed so far.

Taylor's Midnights outfits end the show with a bang

Taylor channelled 'Lavender Haze'

Of course, Taylor ended her show with her most recent release and tenth studio album!

She knew how to finish off the event when she brought a seven-track set of 'Midnights' material to the stage and sported four iconic looks in the process.

From a lavender fur coat to a jet-black glittering bodysuit, Taylor pulled out all the stops for her closing era. What. A. Wardrobe!

  • 'Lavender Haze'
  • 'Anti-Hero'
  • 'Midnight Rain'
  • 'Vigilante Shit'
  • 'Bejeweled'
  • 'Mastermind'
  • 'Karma'

What Should You Wear to the Taylor Swift Eras Tour Movie? We Have Some Ideas.

Whether you want to be comfy in merch or to dress up as one of Swift's many eras, here's a guide to moviegoing attire (Taylor's Version).

what to wear to eras tour movie

Every item on this page was chosen by a Town & Country editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy.

"The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon," Swift wrote on Instagram when she announced the film . "Starting Oct 13th you’ll be able to experience the concert film in theaters... Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged." Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is currently in theaters, and isn't going to be on streaming anytime soon .

What exactly does she mean by "Eras attire"? It means outfits inspired by her ten albums, or eras as she calls them: Taylor Swift , Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Lover, folklore, evermore, and Midnights . Throughout her career, Swift has used different aesthetics to delineate each era, and her fans have embraced them in dressing up for the tour.

In celebration of Swift, we pulled together 33 outfit ideas of what to wear to the movie theaters for the film (which has a runtime of 2 hours, 48 minutes). From casual to over-the-top, inspired by her tour looks and her street style, here's what to wear to Swift's Eras Tour movie:

Eras Tour Sweatshirt

The easiest outfit to wear to the Eras Tour movie? Eras Tour merch. There's plenty on Etsy, or in Swift's official store .

Fearless Bracelet

A key part of the Eras Tour was trading friendship bracelets, and we have a feeling movie audiences will also lean into the power of the bracelet.

Gabrielle Sequin Robe

When Swift announced "ME!" during the NFL Draft in 2019, she wore this Retrofete dress. "The fans are amazing. I cannot believe how dedicated they are, how thoughtful, I can't believe how much they care," Swift said during the interview. "It makes it more fun for me to create music knowing that they'll care about little Easter eggs or clues or hints."

During the evermore section of the Eras Tour, Swift often wore an orange-y rust gown—if you're looking for a movie outfit that can double as a fall wedding guest dress , this dress is perfect.

The Annie

Swift's roots are in country music, and the fashionable way to celebrate that is obviously by wearing your very own pair of cowboy boots .

'13' Temporary Tattoo

'13' Temporary Tattoo

13 is Swift's lucky number, and early in her career, before performing she would draw the number on her hand. Many fans attending the Eras Tour followed suit.

Hue Blazer - Lollipop

Swift's Lover era is all about rainbows and pink, and when she performs "The Man" during the Eras Tour, she dons a blazer dress. Combine the two with this pink blazer, which also works for any Barbie screenings you plan on attending.

Taylor Swift's long-awaited Eras Tour has finally started and the singer is delivering on all fronts — from performance to vocals and, of course, fashion.

On opening weekend, Taylor Swift gave us plenty of whimsical, elegant, and nostalgic looks as we traveled with her through the eras of her career. She wore a handful of familiar styles, with slight tweaks to fit her current style, and gave us plenty of sparkle and shine. Throughout 15+ more stop stops (and counting), Taylor has given us even more memorable fashion moments.

If you are scouring the internet to find out where each look is from, fret not. Here's a look at all the looks Taylor Swift has from during her Eras Tour — from opening night in Glendale, Arizona, to some of her most recent shows in New Jersey and Chicago — and what you can expect to see her wear if you plan on attending one of the upcoming shows.

1. Lover era

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 17...

The first era is  Lover , a time that signified growth, comfort, and basking in the glow of the daylight. Taylor starts the night off in a  custom Versace bodysuit , bright and bold. She pairs it with an equally shiny pair of  custom, studded Louboutin boots . Night one's bodysuit was a playful, iridescent purple color, and she opted for a slightly more elegant, gold-colored one for the second night of the Eras tour kickoff weekend.

The shoes are sparkly, but they aren't really the star of the show until she puts on a blazer, also studded, and also Versace, and performs "The Man." The shoes instantly grabbed the spotlight as she kicked her heels up and flashed the red bottoms. This is the first of several pairs of custom Louboutins that Taylor wears throughout the night – they're the  sole footwear provider for the tour , just like during the  Reputation  tour.

At her show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, the star debuted a new Versace bodysuit that sparkled even brighter than the original one she wore. There are brighter crystals, shining in purple, and extra details, like tassels down her thigh. She paired the new bodysuit with a pair of ombré bedazzled Versace heels, also in purple. Adorning her neck was the Versace Crystal Butterflies Chain Necklace to complete the look.

In a seamless transition to the era that sealed the deal for her as a stage performer and style icon, the  Fearless  era portion of the night brought back shimmery dresses made to move around. The boots stay on, but she trades out the sparkly bodysuit to dance in a storm in her best dress.

One of the big themes in her clothes throughout the night is fringe, which becomes an accessory to the singer as she moves around the stage and dances around singing her best hits. This  custom Roberto Cavalli dress  allows her to do just that, move around freely and shine bright.

On the second night of the tour, Taylor opted for fringe down the legs in  another Roberto Cavalli custom dress  embellished with Swarovski crystals. Again, the movements looked just as mesmerizing in this dress as the first night.

As the tour has continued, Taylor has debuted another equally stunning dress to embody the  Fearless era. The dress is similar to her custom Roberto Cavalli dress with fringe down her leg, but in silver.

3. Acoustic interlude

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 17...

During the opening night, Taylor referenced her debut era playing her first-ever hit song, "Tim McGraw." This era falls into an acoustic set, where Taylor does one of her favorite things: She plays two surprise songs each night to give every fan a unique experience during the show they choose to attend.  The acoustic, slowed-down portion of the show gives the fans a breather, a time to connect with their favorite singer as she’s able to take a seat at the piano and chat with the crowd before she gives a surprise performance.

During this segment, she has so far worn a  Jessica Jones  dress with ruffles that hug her frame as she sits by the piano. The first night she wore a magenta-colored version of the dress. On night two, it was green. We first wondered if we'd see more colors as the tour continued and TSwift delivered. She’s also worn the stunning dress in a yellow shade as well.

4. evermore era

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 17...

Next up is  evermore  era, for which Taylor wears a simple but bright mustard dress from  Etro , also custom. To perform the songs from this quaint but grand era, the stage is set with trees along a foggy backdrop. The tone of the show shifts here. This is where Taylor gets to sit at the piano and commandeer the crowd with her lyrics. There is no need for fringe and sparkles as the crowd sings along at the top of their lungs to "champagne problems" to accompany her.

5. Reputation era

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 17...

During the  Reputation  tour, Taylor made a bold choice to abandon the pants and embrace the bodysuit. She brings that energy back to represent this era with one of the fiercest ones we've ever seen her in; an asymmetrical, show-stopping  black and red colored custom Roberto Cavalli one . As we've realized by now, nothing on this tour will be dull on the sparkle, and this number features sequins studded along the leg in that infamous snake pattern familiar to this era.

6. Speak Now era

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 17...

To sing one singular song from the  Speak Now  era, the fan-favorite "Enchanted," Taylor emerges ready to impress. You can't help but be enchanted by the soft glow reflecting off the sparkles of the  Nicole + Felicia Couture bespoke gown  she's wearing. This is reminiscent of the Valentino gown she wore when she sang this song on the  Speak Now  tour but grander, and of course, with more bling.

On night two of the tour in Glendale, Arizona, Taylor switched up this look and gave the audience an equally shiny but slightly different look, opting for a  Zuhair Murad Couture custom gown  with a starburst design embellishment.

This portion of the show is where she’s been able to switch it up the most. As the tour progressed, the star has given us plenty of glorious gowns to “ooh” and “aah” at. Another Zuhair Murad Couture custom gown was added to the  Speak Now era collection, with thousands of sequins sewn on in a starburst design.

Some nights, she graces the stage in an Elie Saab Fall 2020 Couture gown that is full of tulle and drama. Other nights, she opts for something a bit more simple, but elegant: an Ellie Saab Couture gown from Fall/Winter 2022, straight from the runway that has fabric flowers sewn down the bottom half of the dress. This dress’s train drags behind her as she walks down the catwalk of the massive stage softly and slowly, matching the tone of the song.

The next era is introduced in a spirited manner as Taylor revisits a popularly recreated look: the "Not A Lot Going On At The Moment" T-Shirt from the "22" music video. This look is paired with a Gladys Tamez hat that she gives to a lucky audience member during the performance.

On the second night of the tour, she opted to poke a bit of fun at herself with a T-shirt that read "Who's Taylor Swift Anyway? Ew" after lyrics from the song "22" instead.

As the North American tour reached its halfway point, she introduced another shirt that says, “We Are Never Getting Back Together, Like Ever.” The sequined shirts are all  custom by Ashish , who also made the original shirt in the “22” music video. Once the t-shirt is removed, a beautiful red-to-black ombré bodysuit is revealed, fittingly so for the  Red  era.

When it's time to sing her magnum opus, "All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version)," a sparkly red overcoat is added atop the already striking bodysuit. She puts her best foot forward for a song that has a story as remarkable as her career, with a red guitar to match.

She also used this time, for the first half of the tour, to bring out her collaborator and tour opener  Phoebe Bridgers to sing their acoustic and emotional song “Nothing New.” On Bridgers’s last night on the Eras tour, Swift showed off a chain around her neck that held a small pendant. It was later revealed that the pendant was the  Give You The Moon Charm from Phoebe Bridgers’ Catbird collection. Her footwear for this portion of the show is a seemingly comfortable pair of  loafers from Louboutin .

8. folklore era

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 17...

For the  folklore  portion, we see the singer in a beautiful, muted  purple Alberta Ferretti dress  full of ruffles and flares. It's "fairy in the woods meets cozy baking in a cottage," which are exactly the right vibes of this imaginative and rustic era.

During her performance of "august," Taylor uses body movements across the stage to express her frustration, and the lavender-toned dress added the perfect amount of drama and flair to the performance. As she moved, the  chiffon fabric  moved along with her seamlessly. On night two, she wore a similarly graceful  Alberta Ferretti dress , but in white. It had curtain drapes with delicate hanging threads, adding a  beautiful texture  to its movement.

Taylor loves to swiftly move around the stage in various Alberta Ferretti dresses during the most emotional portions of the  folklore  era. She’s shown us two more versions of custom dresses that were created for this portion of the show.

9. 1989 era

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 17...

As the night progresses, we see more and more fringe. How else would we see the iconic "Shake It Off" movements except in another  Roberto Cavalli custom two-piece set  covered in chunky fringe with sequins in various shapes and sizes? This look is similar to what the singer wore on her  1989  tour.

On the first night of the tour, the co-ord set was  magenta . On the second night of the tour, she swapped it for the same set, except in bright green.

As the tour has continued, the pop queen has added an additional color to the 1989 co-ord repertoire. We’ve now seen the same Roberto Cavalli set in orange as well. How many colors will we see in total throughout the tour?

10. Midnights era

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 17...

As we reach the present-day era,  Midnights , we get to the peak of extravagance and pomp. It's time to celebrate the eras past that have allowed Taylor to become the artist and performer she is today. The dress she chose to perform the culmination of her career is a custom  Oscar De La Renta  that's looser fitting but still heavy and studded in iridescent crystals. It's paired with a new set of custom Louboutins studded in black crystals. To add more drama, she has a fur coat on, also a custom piece from Oscar De La Renta. Everything about this look screams "Bejeweled," a song placed near the end of the setlist but a vibe that's exuded for the entirety of the night.

As this era progresses, she sheds layers. The dress is shed to reveal an  Oscar De La Renta custom bodysuit , an article of clothing she seems to be very comfortable performing in. This time, there's black detailing. It's soft but striking and just sexy enough to perform the Cell Block Tango-esque choreography to "Vigilante Sh*t" with chairs and all. She even added a garter to her thigh to give a bit of a sexy edge to complete the look.

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium on March 17...

To finish off the show, another layer is added with even more fringe and even more sparkle, if that's even possible. This multi-colored statement piece is fabulous, and it's a perfect way to physically represent just what the last three hours and 15 minutes were all about: Taylor celebrating and shining with the 70,000 other people in the room with her.

Taylor's self-titled first album in 2006 was impossibly romantic, a celebration of all things country. It goes to follow that her style at that time was, too. Boho dresses, sparkly eyeshadow, tightly curled ringlets of blonde hair, and other cowboy-inspired accessories like chunky cowboy boots were the order of the day. Swift often opted for bright yellows, flowery prints, and relied on the innocence of youth as well as the iconography of her with a guitar when she put out her debut album in high school. Think youthful innocence, flowers, sparkle, and sundresses and you'll be on the right path here.

When Swift released her second album Fearless in 2008, her looks didn't shift from her high school fashion significantly, but she did begin to opt for a little more glitz, glam, and sequins. She decided to mix in a few more metallic shades, like gold and silver, with plenty of mini dresses and the same boots and loose curls from her younger days. Alternatively, class things up with some strappy heels to make for a look that Swift would have worn on the red carpet.

Swift made her foray into dreamier, more storybook-styled elements with Speak Now in 2010. Though she sometimes still paid homage to her country roots, she continued to sprinkle in more experimental outfit choices, throwing in ballroom dresses, plenty of airy fabrics, and theatrical outfits. Purple, of course, was a major theme that carried through this era, so anything purple and romantic (and sparkly) would be an automatic great fit.

Taylor veered off into some very new territory with 2012's Red , effortlessly blending country and pop. Of course, it makes sense to choose something red for this era, but there are also plenty of other aesthetic notes to consider: vintage styling, red lips, straight hair with bangs, high-waisted shorts, T-shirts, hats, heart-shaped sunglasses, and other breezy attire are aspects you can't go wrong with.

Swift finally completed her full metamorphosis into a pop superstar with 1989 in 2014, and her style transformed as well. During this era, the singer debuted her choppy bob, casual crop tops, flowing skirts, funky accessories, and an air of nonchalance that felt like youth coming alive. It's easy to get the 1989 look — and you probably already have some of its staples in your closet. In 2017, following her year out of the public eye, Swift re-emerged with Reputation . With it, came an album of dark dance-pop and another new aesthetic. This time, she rocked black bodysuits, dark lipsticks, snake motifs, and hoods. She also wore a variety of hairstyles, from slicked-back lengthy locks to bangs and updos. Her touring outfits became a lot more dramatic as well.

With 2019's Lover , Swift entered a bright, colorful era with plenty of hearts, rainbows, glitter, and sunshiny fashion. Her music reflected these feelings as well, focusing on staying positive, being in love, and enjoying life. Think bright colors, eye-catching designs, flowing hair, and unique prints.

Folklore and Evermore

Swift released both Folklore and Evermore in 2020, debuting a marked shift to a cottage-core style that reflected what many of us were wearing during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. She wore plenty of flowery prints, boho chic, frills and midi dresses, and we ate every bit of it up. Both albums featured the same types of wardrobe, given that they shared similar musical styles.

Swift released Midnights in late 2022, and we're still technically at the beginning of this era. But it's proving to be one of the more popular looks to wear to the Eras Tour since it's still fresh in everyone's minds. It seems to be a mixture of several of Swift's previous aesthetic choices, with '70s-inspired attire, sequins, bedazzled looks, and more. It's dreamy, sexy, and a little romantic, perfect for meeting someone at midnight.

Lover Outfits on The Eras Tour

Taylor opened up The Eras tour in a surprisingly seamless way with “Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince.” Although this song wasn’t a single, Taylor used this song to share an important message with her fans- “it’s been a long time coming.”

Her last album before the pandemic put a halt on live shows, Lover, and what “would’ve, could’ve should’ve” been Loverfest, has been on many Swifties’ minds. After many years of imagining what live performances of this album would look like, we finally saw all the glamor, love, and power that is Lover. Taylor’s custom Versace blazer set and bodysuit were both paired with silver, sequin Louboutin boots- imagine that price tag!

Fearless outfits on the eras tour.

It’s impossible to deny that Fearless launched Taylor’s career in the music industry, but her re-recording of this iconic country album solidified her place in music history. As the first artist to pursue this venture, Taylor has been rerecording the six studio albums she no longer owns the masters to. Now that she officially owns Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Taylor is celebrating in the best way possible- dancing with her fans in her best dress, fearless!

Gold represents all things fearless and it was a hallmark color of her original Fearless tour back in 2009. Taylor recreated some of her iconic tour looks, including her gold, fringe cocktail dress, for The Eras tour. Roberto Cavalli took on the challenge of creating these delicate, yet bold pieces and we think he nailed it!

Evermore outfits on the eras tour.

Evermore is one of Taylor’s more mellow, melodic albums, so it’s no surprise that she toned down her pop icon persona to perform these songs. Her orange, flowy gown was reminiscent of the Evermore forest and her brown microphone was a direct tribute to the era. This floor-length, Etro gown was the perfect nod to an album we all got lost in.

Reputation was the last album that received a proper send off with the Reputation tour in 2017. This record-breaking tour was filled with intricate dances, eye-catching costumes, and iconic performances of many Swifies’ favorite songs. It’s no surprise that Taylor’s Reputation outfit on The Eras tour was anything less than iconic! Her asymmetrical Roberto Cavalli jumpsuit featured snakes slithering up her body in a figure-highlighting pattern that we can’t keep our eyes off of.

Taylor’s most recently re-recorded album, Red (Taylor’s Version) includes some of her most personal and popular songs, including All Too Well (Ten Minute Version). Making a direct nod to this era while playing a handful of hits only makes sense! Taylor recreated her original Red tour look for her single, 22, with a “A Lot Going on at the Moment” t-shirt and black fedora. Then she brought the glam in a custom, ombre Ashish bodysuit and floor-length blazer. This sparkly piece channels one of the hottest trends this spring: entirely sequin outfits!

Another Album of the Year winner, 1989 is the album that solidified Taylor’s status as a pop icon. Just like her set for 1989, Taylor wore her outfit for her Debut set in both purple and green. Switching up her outfits gives Taylor a chance to keep an element of surprise for the Swifities attending The Eras tour- even those who go to multiple shows! Her ruffled gowns brought just the right country vibe and paired perfectly with her Louboutin booties.

Midnights outfits on the eras tour.

Taylor closed The Eras tour with her most recent release, Midnights. Taylor’s outfits to sing her current hits matched the midnight vibe perfectly and reminded everyone that she’s the pop icon of our generation! Taylor wore two eye-catching sequin bodysuits: a custom Zuhair Murad bodysuit that featured intricate navy blue. beadwork and a custom Oscar de la Renta midnight sequin and crystal embroidered bodysuit. She paired both of these bodysuits with yet another pair of matching Louboutin boots. Her other Midnights outfit looked like it came right out of the “Lavender Haze” music video! Her sequined oversized tee was also designed by Oscar de la Renta and it was paired with a lavender faux fur jacket.

Every outfit Taylor Swift wears on the Eras Tour, ranked

  • Taylor Swift recently kicked off the South American leg of the Eras Tour .
  • She has worn more than 40 different outfits on stage, with unique styles for each album.
  • Insider's music team ranked them from worst to best, with the original "Lover" bodysuit in the top spot.

46. The surprise song dress in yellow

country eras tour outfits

Each night during the Eras Tour, Taylor Swift performs an acoustic set with two surprise songs .

The dress for this segment is designed for a quick change; Swift slips it over the "1989" outfit while still on stage. It makes sense for the dress to be plain. But it doesn't make sense for the fabric to be the same color as Big Bird.

Frankly, the yellow dress is ugly. It's way too yellow.

45. The surprise song dress in green

country eras tour outfits

The green dress isn't ugly, but it's not especially stunning either.

44. The surprise song dress in pink

country eras tour outfits

The pink dress still isn't anything to write home about, but generally speaking, Swift looks good in pink.

43. The surprise song dress in blue

country eras tour outfits

Swift wore blue versions of several classic tour looks for the night she announced "1989 (Taylor's Version)."

This is the best surprise song dress, purely because it reminds me of Sharpay Evans singing "Bop to the Top."

42. The "Speak Now" ballgown that's growing mushrooms

country eras tour outfits

The flowers plopped all over this dress are flimsy and unpleasant-looking. I would be glad to never see it again.

41. The "Red" romper

country eras tour outfits

Honestly, Swift's outfits never slay during the "Red" segment, but the ombre romper is the worst offender. It's not terrible, but it doesn't do anything for her.

40. The "All Too Well" jacket

country eras tour outfits

Swift dons glittery, floor-grazing outerwear to perform "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)," which helps make the "Red" segment a bit more sophisticated — though it doesn't match the somber vibe of the song. I much preferred the sleek look that Swift wore to perform the song on "Saturday Night Live."

39. The "22" shirt

country eras tour outfits

There are three versions of this shirt, inspired by an outfit worn by Swift in the "22" music video: "A lot going on at the moment," "We are never getting back together like ever," and "Who's Taylor Swift anyway? Ew." The shirt is always paired with a black bowler hat.

The shirt isn't exactly high-fashion, but it gets extra points for the nostalgia factor. The hat is ugly, but it gets even more extra points for the cuteness factor, since Swift always gives it to a special fan in the crowd .

38. The "Fearless" dress in gold

country eras tour outfits

As Insider's Courteney Larocca has bravely noted , the "weird noodle-like strings" that hang from this dress are absolutely uncalled for.

37. The "Fearless" dress in silver

country eras tour outfits

Silver is slightly better than gold, but the tassels still look like octopus tentacles.

36. The cupcake-shaped "Speak Now" ballgown

country eras tour outfits

It's too puffy!

35. The pink "Karma" jacket

country eras tour outfits

It's too pink!

34. The pink-and-purple "Midnights" look

country eras tour outfits

This is a much nicer shade of pink.

33. The blue-and-purple "Midnights" look

country eras tour outfits

Blue makes sense for " Midnights ," especially because the album cover features a light-blue font, so this is a happier marriage than the purple coat and pink dress underneath.

32. The extra-sparkly "Midnights" look

country eras tour outfits

This version of the T-shirt dress is slightly elevated, with multicolored gems scattered across the fabric.

31. The "Lavender Haze" look

country eras tour outfits

The fuzzy coat that opens the "Midnights" segment is a reference to the "Lavender Haze" music video . This connection is most obvious when Swift wears the opalescent T-shirt dress underneath.

It kind of looks like Swift skinned a Muppet to make this coat, but don't worry: she confirmed in a behind-the-scenes clip  that she would never wear real fur.

30. The blue "Karma" jacket

country eras tour outfits

Blue-on-blue is a logical combo for the closing number, if a little predictable.

29. The multicolored "Karma" jacket

country eras tour outfits

The multicolored fringe is a little chaotic, but it's a fun way to spice things up for the final song of the evening.

28. The hot pink "Karma" jacket

country eras tour outfits

The contrast between Swift's bright skin, dark-blue bodysuit, and hot-pink fringe is very compelling.

27. The classic "Evermore" dress

country eras tour outfits

For the majority of the US leg, Swift only had one look for the "Evermore" segment: a mustard-yellow dress that screams cottagecore. It's cute but nothing particularly special, and it has grown a little dull over time.

26. The bronze "Evermore" dress

country eras tour outfits

Swift has only worn this alternate "Evermore" dress a handful of times, but it made for a nice change of pace — and the deep, sparkling bronze compliments the moody, wintery vibe of songs like "'Tis the Damn Season," "Champagne Problems," and "Tolerate It."

25. The gold "Speak Now" ballgown

country eras tour outfits

The "Speak Now" outfit is a callback to the Speak Now World Tour, when Swift wore sparkly gowns while singing "Enchanted." For The Eras Tour, Swift pumped up the drama with voluminous skirts and embroidered jewels.

The gold version is fine, but looks slightly cheaper than its counterparts — like an extravagant prom dress.

24. The silver "Speak Now" ballgown

country eras tour outfits

Instead of muted gold, silver offers a lovely contrast with the purple visuals of "Speak Now."

23. The pink "Speak Now" ballgown

country eras tour outfits

The baby-pink version of the "Enchanted" gown is almost the best, with its flattering neckline and strips of sparkles that resemble falling rain.

22. The purple "Lover" bodysuit with tassels

country eras tour outfits

The deep purple hue made for an exciting change when Swift debuted this look in East Rutherford, New Jersey — but the tassels throw off the whole effect. They make the bodysuit look cheaper than it is.

21. "1989" in orange

country eras tour outfits

The orange set is nice, but it's the weakest link of the "1989" colors (and signals that she'll wear the yellow surprise-song dress).

Maybe it's a subtle Easter egg for "Karma," the rumored album that Swift scrapped in between "1989" and "Reputation." (In the music video for "The Man," the word is graffitied on the wall in orange paint.)

20. "1989" in green

country eras tour outfits

The green is prettier than orange, but not as pretty as pink.

19. "1989" in pink

country eras tour outfits

Although hot pink isn't quite right for the overall vibe of "1989," it does pair well with the girlish charm of "Blank Space" and the fiery passion of "Bad Blood."

18. "1989" in blue

country eras tour outfits

After 26 concerts, we finally got to see Swift perform songs from "1989" wearing the album's distinctive color. This glittering blue set recalls the New York City skyline that inspired Swift's iconic pop songs.

17. The newest "Midnights" bodysuit

country eras tour outfits

The latest edition of the "Midnights" bodysuit is likely designed to resemble an outfit that Swift wore during the 1989 World Tour.

It's one of her most daring looks yet , but the sheer cutouts in the abdomen look a little misplaced.

16. The blue-and-yellow "Lover" bodysuit

country eras tour outfits

The "Lover" bodysuit is always gorgeous, but there's something slightly off about the blue-and-yellow color combination. The tones are too muted to complement the show's opening visuals.

15. "The Man" blazer in silver

country eras tour outfits

Swift typically slips on a silver blazer over her "Lover" bodysuit to perform "The Man" and "You Need to Calm Down." With the matching red-bottomed boots, it's a powerful combination.

14. "The Man" blazer in black

country eras tour outfits

We love the silver blazer, but the black blazer is extremely hot.

13. "Folklore" in blue

country eras tour outfits

The sheer, baby-blue cape sleeves are very pretty, but the color isn't the right fit for "Folklore," which is not a blue-sounding album in the slightest.

12. "Folklore" in purple

country eras tour outfits

"Folklore" isn't a purple-sounding album either, but this dress does look like something a young widow might wear in a Jane Austen film adaptation, so it works.

11. "Folklore" in cream

country eras tour outfits

Cream is a fitting color for "Folklore," an album that evokes earthy and neutral tones.

10. "Folklore" with lace

country eras tour outfits

This is only slightly different from "Folklore" in cream, but the lace adds a new edge — romantic and old-timey, well-suited for the "pioneer woman in a forbidden love affair" that Swift imagined while she was writing these songs.

9. The blue "Speak Now" ballgown

country eras tour outfits

Although blue is not the traditional "Speak Now" color, everything about this dress is truly stunning, from the floral details to the elegant train.

8. The original "Midnights" bodysuit

country eras tour outfits

The navy bodysuit is an Eras Tour classic, dark and sparkling like midnight rain. It's an almost-perfect choice to close the show.

7. "Folklore" in green

country eras tour outfits

Out of all the flowy "Folklore" gowns, green is the best fit for "Folklore." It makes Swift look like a woodland fairy.

6. The original "Fearless" dress

country eras tour outfits

Swift's flapper-inspired dress is ideal for performing classics like "You Belong With Me" and "Love Story." The fringe is fun and youthful, just like the original "Fearless" era, but paired with knee-high boots, it's still chic and modern.

5. The only "Reputation" outfit

country eras tour outfits

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The one-legged "Reputation" jumpsuit is bold and sexy with a hint of danger, just like the album itself .

4. The scalloped "Midnights" bodysuit

country eras tour outfits

There is something especially ethereal about this version of the classic "Midnights" bodysuit. The blue has a slightly warmer, richer tone — a better match for Swift's ocean eyes and pinkish undertones than navy — and the scalloped detailing on the bodice is exquisite up close.

3. "The Man" blazer in pink

country eras tour outfits

Swift looks like a Barbie come to life in this version of the blazer, which she debuted on stage in Argentina. It also gives her performance of "The Man" a flirty, feminine edge.

2. The "Lover" bodysuit in pink

country eras tour outfits

Swift also debuted this pink version of her opening look in Argentina. The gorgeous combination of shades, from baby pink to strawberry and fuchsia, compliments the tone of songs like "Cruel Summer" and "Lover."

1. The original "Lover" bodysuit

country eras tour outfits

This was the first outfit Swift wore when she arrived on the Eras Tour stage back in March, and to this day, it remains the best.

The blue, purple, and pink gems create the perfect color combo, especially suited for the warmth and whimsy of the "Lover" era.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Outfits: All the Iconic Looks You Missed

Some call her the Queen of pop, others call her the Queen of versatility, but one thing is for sure, Taylor Swift is a queen in her own right. Yet again, she proves this by delivering a world-class tour that left Swifties in awe. But her concerts are just half of the whole sensation; another thing worth the adulation from her fans is Taylor Swift’s Eras tour outfits.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Outfits: picture of taylor rocking a sequined dress for the concert

If you followed the Eras tour, you’d agree with me Taylor brought her style A-game alongside her loads of talent. We must commend her team as every outfit was perfectly in sync with all the beautiful songs she dished out each night. And if you’re a diehard Swiftie-cum-fashion enthusiast, you’ve got lots of her Eras tour outfits to recreate. Let’s explore all the stunning looks from Taylor’s Eras tour together.

How Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Outfits Shows She’s a Fashionista

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Outfits: Picture of taylor swift rocking the sequined gown on her concert

When the Queen of Pop announced she was going on a tour, Swifties all around the world were beyond excited. The Eras Tour which started March 17, 2023, will end on December 8, 2024, in Vancouver, Canada. It is the star’s second all-stadium tour after her 2018 Reputation Stadium Tour. Grossing over one billion dollars and setting a record for the highest-grossing tour of all time, Taylor sure outdid herself on this one.

However, besides her electrifying stage presence, her stunning outfits garnered lots of attention. This isn’t surprising; Ms. Swift is known to don custom designs from top fashion houses. And for the Eras Tour, it was nothing short of expectations. She wore the likes of Versace, Alberta Ferretti,  Roberto Cavalier, Nicole+Felicia Couture , and others.

When you have a three-hour stadium concert every night that spans for months and is broadcast for the whole world to see, you have no choice but to look flawless up until the very end. And that’s what Taylor Swift did. She understood the assignment, taking the stage in 16 different outfits that of course change in every city she tours.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Outfits Adopts Looks From Her Past Albums

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Outfits: Picture of Taylor swift rocking a purple gown for the concert

From the tour’s name, ‘Eras’ , it is obvious the star would draw inspiration from her past eras to channel all her tour outfits from her iconic career. As the queen of versatility, we’ve seen Taylor go country, pop, indie, and even her famous heartbreak songs that make us grab tissue papers almost every time.

For her opener, she wore a Versace bodysuit that pays tribute to her lover persona. We also saw Roberto Cavalli’s two-piece for her 1989 album and Nicole+ Felicia’s gown for her Speak Now album. This goes to show the tour’s name isn’t an afterthought but was carefully planned.

All the Stunning Looks From The Eras Tour

Picture of Taylor Swift rocking a gorgeous gown for her concert

Taylor Swift gave us plenty of fashionable and memorable moments on her tour. How she donned outfits that paid tribute to each era(albums) was a stroke of genius. She created a feeling of nostalgia, leaving fans singing and dancing with her through all the eras on her tour. But while we took in her performances, we didn’t forget to take notes on all the favorite looks Swifties should recreate. Here’s a look at how Taylor defined and stayed unique to each era with her fashion choices:

Picture of Taylor Swift rocking a seqined catsuit for her concert.

The star opened the tour by ushering in her lover era. For this set, she rocked a custom-made Versace bodysuit and paired it with sparkling Louboutin boots. The bodysuit hugged her perfectly, showing that the star didn’t come to play.

Fearless Era

Picture of Taylor Swift rocking a gorgeous sequined dress for her tour

For this era, the Anti-hero crooner rocked a sparkly Robert Cavalli dress while dancing up a storm. In what we will call a smooth transition, Taylor’s gorgeous dress was cemented as one of our favorite looks from her concerts.

Evermore Era

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Outfits: Picture of Taylor swift rocking a gorgeous gown for her concert

For this era, we saw a softer Taylor. This Taylor bewitches us with her lyrics while belting out champaign problems and stroking keys on the piano. She ensured she was in sync with the soft yet memorable era in a custom-made dress from Etro.

Reputation Era

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Outfits: Picture of Taylor rocking the iconic one legged catsuit

If there’s one thing that was consistent throughout the tour, it’s sparkles. Her costumes never had a shortage of glitter and sparkles. And for this era, Taylor rocked the iconic Rober Cavalier catsuit that is still memorable to date. The look showcases the star’s fierceness as she pays tribute to her past albums.

Speak Now Era

Picture of Taylor rocking a sequined ball gown for her concert

For this era, Taylor blessed our eyes with ball gowns. Her beautiful Nicole + Felicia gown cast a soft glow on her performance while she sang fans’ all-time favorite of the album — Enchanted .

Picture of Taylor rocking a T-shirt with sequined shorts while belting her famous 22 song

While watching the concert, a friend of mine said Taylor came prepared and I couldn’t agree more. In this era, we saw a spirited and energetic Taylor rocking a t-shirt and sequined shorts with a hat to match. The outfit references her outfit in the music video of her song, 22 .

Folklore Era

Picture of the star rocking a gorgeous purple gown for her concert

Taylor wore a stunning dress made with chiffon fabric. What particularly stood out for this era is her iconic purple  Alberta Ferretti dress. The looks from this era were perfect and in sync with what her album presented—say a gorgeous fairy marking her territory.

Picture of Taylor in a gorgeous two piece for her i989 eras tour set

I989 is my favorite Taylor’s album with all the iconic songs like Shake It Off . And for this era, the singer wore a gorgeous Robert Cavalli two-piece set covered in sequined, giving room for her to shake it off. The outfits here are quite similar to what she rocked on her 1989 tours. Taylor sure understands details.

Midnight Era

Picture of Taylor on a gorgeous faux fur coat for her midnight era set

For this era, the singer rocked a faux fur coat on a sequined dress. It’s a perfect way to tell us she is now in the present as she hopped on trends with the stylish extravaganza she showcased in the era.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Outfits: Cementing a Style Icon

Picture of a Taylor rocking a gorgeous dress for her eras tour concert

While the Eras Tour is indubitably a celebration of Taylor Swift’s successful career, it’s also an unignorable way of cementing her status as a style icon. For every outfit Taylor rocked, whether two-pieces, catsuits, or sequined dresses, the star brought her A-game to the show.

But all you’ve seen so far on this page is just a drop of water compared to all the Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour outfits. It’s why we’ve included some more to tickle your style buds. So feast your eyes on more gorgeous looks from the Eras tour wardrobe:

Everything We Know About Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour So Far

Surprise songs, Taylor (kind of) stage diving — and so much more!

Hot on the heels of surprise-dropping four songs, Taylor Swift kicked off The Eras Tour on March 17, and we haven’t stopped thinking about it since. In fact, we’re even giving Swifties the chance to join our scavenger hunt on the SXM App to be eligible for a chance to win tickets to Taylor’s May 27th show (see more details below)!

Hear Hits by Taylor Swift and More on the SXM App

It’s been five years since Taylor’s last full tour, and with everyone now rooting for the anti-hero, the hype is real. The singer seems determined to live up to that hype, with The Eras Tour already shaping up to be legendary. From surprise songs to outfit changes and clever staging, here’s everything we know about Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour so far.

Are you ready for it?

Calling all Swifties! You’re 4 riddles away.

Taylor Swift The Eras Tour New Jersey Show Sweepstakes

Record Ticket Sales

The Eras Tour was breaking records before it even began — talk about getting off to a good start! Over two million tickets were sold the day they went live, meaning Taylor now holds the record for the most concert tickets sold by an artist in a single day.

While that likely added a lot of pressure to this tour, Taylor has been meeting expectations. Fans routinely gush about the show on social media, praising her tireless dedication and commitment to a stellar performance.

The runtime definitely shows her commitment to entertaining her fans, and if this tour is going to prove one thing, it’s that Taylor Swift has serious stamina. The show clocks in at over three hours , with Taylor cramming a crowd-pleasing 44 songs into the set.

Each of her 10 studio albums — or eras — gets its own act, which sees Taylor elaborately recreate the associated aesthetic on stage via projections, sets, and costumes.

Designer Costumes

With designers like Versace, Roberto Cavalli, and Zuhair Murad working on her tour outfits, the looks are truly iconic. We all know Taylor loves to sparkle, and she really let herself get “Bejeweled” for this tour. We’re talking sparkly boots, sparkly jackets, sparkly dresses, sparkly bodysuits — the works.

Fans have been wowed by the fits, and with there already being a few variations from night to night, we can only hope that perhaps we’ll get to see even more outfits as the tour continues to roll out.

Stage Diving

Speaking of which: So many outfits, so little time! Taylor’s outfit changes happen fast and occasionally on stage. Others require slightly more time, but even those are covered up very cleverly and add to the experience.

One such trick involves Taylor seemingly taking a headfirst dive into the stage, with screen projections showing her swimming inside the stage and across the stadium. She’s really taking the concept of stage diving to the next level!

The staging and projection throughout are impressive, creating distinct atmospheres for each of the eras. From the ethereal forests of evermore and the dreamy pastels of Lover to the “cottagecore” aesthetic of folklore and the sparkly showers of Fearless , the transformations are beautiful.

Taylor just dived into the stage for a change to the Midnights era! How did she do that?! #TSTheErasTour pic.twitter.com/7olnCMnoUt — Taylor Swift Updates (@SwiftNYC) March 18, 2023

Live Debuts

Taylor’s last scheduled tour, Lover Fest, was canceled back in 2020, meaning that The Eras Tour is the first time we’ve had the chance to hear some of her newer songs live. Debuting tracks from Lover , folklore , evermore , and Midnights — or, as Swift puts it, the four “new members [added] to the family” — her repertoire is now undeniably extensive.

Surprise Songs

Even with the three-hour runtime, it’s impossible for her to include all of her hits. Luckily, Taylor seems well aware of that and plans to give more songs their time to shine, because surprise songs are back for The Eras Tour.

Surprise songs are a staple of Taylor Swift concerts, and Swifties everywhere will be thrilled to know that this tradition of hers is continuing. In adding a different hit from her back catalog to the setlist each night, Taylor brings something special and unique to each gig. With fan-favorite songs like “Mirrorball,” “Tim McGraw,” and “This Is Me Trying” already crossed off the list, we’re starting to feel the FOMO — but there are still so many huge songs we have yet to hear.

“Long Story Short,” this is going to be one heck of a tour!

Whether you’ve been a Swiftie forever or you’re a brand-new fan, we’ve got you covered with plenty of pop channels where you can hear more of Taylor. Head to Hits 1 (Ch. 2) for your fix of the hottest pop around!

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are bringing their romance to yet another venue — Gucci's official Oscars afterparty!

The couple, who just jetted back from Swift's Eras Tour shows in Singapore , landed in Los Angeles just in time to celebrate the 96th annual Academy Awards and step out for an event following the awards ceremony together. The pair attended Gucci's 16th annual event known as "The Party" on Sunday night, which was held at talent manager Guy Oseary's home.

The Grammy winner, 34, and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, were among the A-listers on the guest list, which also included Oscar winners like Billie Eilish and Cillian Murphy , as well as stars Anya Taylor Joy , Austin Butler , Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence , among others.

"They were on the patio and in great moods. She had a very happy, giant smile," a guest at the party tells PEOPLE. "He was protective of her and she was delightful and glowing — they seemed very happy together and loving the night."

Several of the couple's friends were also in attendance, including Lana Del Rey , Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum and Swift's tour mate Sabrina Carpenter and her rumored boyfriend Barry Keoghan , who also recently attended the Eras Tour in Singapore .

The pop superstar and three-time Super Bowl champion's post-Oscars outing comes off the heels of Swift's six-night Eras Tour run in Singapore.

Before the "Cruel Summer" singer's string of sold-out shows wrapped up on Saturday, Kelce traveled to attend the fifth and sixth nights .

During night five, Swift gave a sweet nod to her boyfriend in the crowd, as she  changed the lyrics  of her Midnights hit "Karma" to give him a shout out by singing, per fan  videos , “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me."

While in Singapore, the pair was spotted spending quality time together . Fans captured footage of the two enjoying a casual date night out a mall.

After the shows — which marked the end of the Eras Tour's leg across Australia, New Zealand and Asian — Swift took to Instagram to express her gratitude for the success of her six-night residency. "We got to play 6 shows in Singapore for the most wonderful crowds — just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who traveled and put so much effort into being at our shows," the "Anti-Hero" singer wrote. "What an unforgettable way to end this leg of the tour!!"

It won't be long until Swift sets back out on the next leg of the Eras Tour. In May, she'll jet-set off to Europe for the next string of international dates, which begins with a series of dates in Paris and goes on to last through much of the summer.

Despite having a little over two months off before taking the stage again, the pop star won't be relaxing much. Her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department , is due out April 19.

"See you in May when we get back to the Eras Tour!! In the meantime I’ve got an album to release… 🤍✍️," Swift also wrote in the caption of her post commemorating the end of her Singapore shows.

Beyoncé Is Riding Into Her Country Era. Here’s What to Know.

The singer said her upcoming album, “Cowboy Carter,” was the result of a deep dive into the history of country music after a negative experience: “I did not feel welcomed.”

  • Share full article

Beyoncé smiles while wearing a white cowboy hat, black leather jacket with silver studs and a black string tie.

By Julia Jacobs

It started with a western-style Grammys outfit, complete with a cream-colored cowboy hat, studded string tie and matching Louis Vuitton jacket and skirt.

After a year and a half of Beyoncé’s “Renaissance,” the lauded dance music spectacular that included a world tour and a concert film, the awards show outfit signaled to fans that a new era was beginning. From the start, Beyoncé had described “Renaissance” as the first part of a three-act project, and fans wondered if the second act was on its way.

One week later, the pop star made herself abundantly clear, this time in a Verizon ad that aired during the Super Bowl.

“Drop the new music,” she said at the end of the intricately produced commercial, which featured the comic actor Tony Hale, a robot Beyoncé and the real version, who showed off 10 outfit changes.

She had our attention.

At her command, her team released a minute-long teaser video that culminated with a small crowd staring at a roadside billboard displaying another cowboy hat-wearing Beyoncé. Then came two new singles , “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages,” filled with the kind of Southern twang and country instrumentation seldom heard in her catalog.

With the trail of promotional breadcrumbs — a succession of interviews with collaborators, billboard advertisements placed around the world, a chart-topping single — Beyoncé has returned to the more traditional album rollout, dropping teases and revelations before the big release, due March 29.

Here’s what we know.

‘This ain’t a Country album. This is a ‘Beyoncé’ album.’

On Tuesday, Beyoncé released a statement to her website that gave some insight into the origins of the album, her eighth solo release, which is expected to tap into her Houston upbringing and reclaim the Black origins of country music.

“It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed … and it was very clear that I wasn’t,” she said. “But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of country music and studied our rich musical archive.”

It seemed like a possible reference to the 2016 Country Music Association Awards, when the singer performed “Daddy Lessons,” her first foray into country from the album “Lemonade,” alongside the Chicks, and a vocal segment of the country fandom questioned whether the performance belonged.

“The criticisms I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me,” she wrote in this introduction to the album, which is called “Cowboy Carter.”

The singer warned in her statement against boxing her into a specific genre.

“This ain’t a country album,” the statement said. “This is a ‘Beyoncé’ album.”

It has been in the works ‘for years.’

When Beyoncé first announced “Renaissance,” the singer called it the first installment of a three-part project recorded over three years during the pandemic, a period she described as being creatively fertile.

Fans began wondering about the genesis of “Cowboy Carter” when Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, commented on one of her daughter’s Instagram posts promoting the new singles, saying, “I have loved this record for years, now so happy that you guys get to hear.”

“Years?” some asked in response.

The theory that the music has been filed away for some time was supported by a line from “16 Carriages,” the swelling, cinematic ballad in which Beyoncé sings, “It’s been 38 summers and I’m not in my bed.” (Beyoncé is 42, so you do the math.)

In her statement, the singer clarified that the album had been over five years in the making.

With ‘Texas Hold ’Em,’ Beyoncé has already made history.

Less than two weeks after its release, “Texas Hold ’Em” topped Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, making Beyoncé the first Black woman to do so.

A foot-stomping track that has inspired a dance trend on TikTok, “Texas Hold ’Em” evokes a hoedown animated by red cups, whiskey and boots with spurs, with Beyoncé singing: “I’ll be damned if I cannot dance with you/Come pour some liquor on me honey, too.”

The single’s success drew applause from some segments of country music — including from its queen , Dolly Parton — but also added fuel to a long-running debate over who is considered “country,” after a small country music station in Oklahoma initially refused a listener’s request to play the track.

‘Cowboy Carter’ may include a Dolly Parton tribute.

In an interview with The Knoxville News-Sentinel this month, Parton dropped a less-than-certain hint that Beyoncé covered her 1973 hit “Jolene” on “Cowboy Carter,” telling the newspaper, “I think she’s recorded ‘Jolene’ and I think it’s probably gonna be on her country album, which I’m very excited about that.”

An unauthorized slip of the tongue? Or another well-placed hint?

Parton added that the artists have “sent messages back and forth through the years,” saying that she had been “touched” to learn that Beyoncé and her mother were fans.

The album features respected country collaborators.

The album’s two singles credit Raphael Saadiq , the producer and writer who collaborated with Beyoncé on “Renaissance” and who is known for his work with R&B royalty, but the songs also list several musicians who are fixtures in the country-rock genre.

“16 Carriages” features the steel guitarist Robert Randolph, who is known for expanding the reach of a style of Black gospel called Sacred Steel through collaborations with Carlos Santana and Ozzy Osbourne, as well as while opening for the Dave Matthews Band.

Speaking with Rolling Stone last month, Randolph said that when he arrived in Los Angeles to record, he was told that he had been “handpicked” for the job.

“Beyoncé already had an idea of what she wanted to do,” Randolph said. “She wanted to do something with some playing, with some country fire. She said she liked the way I make my instrument sound like a singer.”

On “Texas Hold ’Em” the musician behind the banjo and viola is Rhiannon Giddens , a Grammy-winning performer who often uses her platform to educate fans about American music history, particularly the foundational influence of Black musicians.

In addition to artists well-known in Nashville, there are collaborations from well outside traditional country circles. Beyoncé and five other writers are credited with penning “Texas Hold ’Em,” including the Canadian alt-pop performers Nathan Ferraro, Megan Bülow, who performs as Bülow, and Elizabeth Lowell Boland. (In a video dancing to the song, posted and since deleted to TikTok, Boland, who performs as Lowell, included the caption, “Grew up in Calgary the country capital of Canada…. Rodeo’d my way to Hollywood!”)

Dave Hamelin, a producer and a member of the defunct indie rock band the Stills, is credited as a writer, producer, organist, guitarist and engineer on “16 Carriages.”

The pedal steel guitarist Justin Schipper called his involvement in the album “a bucket list moment for sure” in a post to Instagram .

It figures to challenge the country music establishment.

Giddens’s knowledge made her well positioned to respond when Beyoncé’s music release led naysayers to publicly question whether the singles should be counted on country charts.

“Whenever a Black artist puts out a country song the judgment, comments, and opinions come thick and fast,” Giddens wrote in a column for The Guardian . “‘That’s not real country!’ ‘That’s cultural appropriation.’ ‘She needs to stay in her lane.’”

Giddens responded by tracing Black musicians’ contributions to the creation of the genre, discussing the advent of the banjo by enslaved Black people in the Caribbean in the 1600s and the history of Black string band musicians.

“Let’s stop pretending that the outrage surrounding this latest single is about anything other than people trying to protect their nostalgia for a pure ethnically white tradition that never was,” she wrote.

There is a history of gate-keeping what should be deemed country, including a backlash among musicians in the 1970s when Olivia Newton-John (who was from Australia) was named female vocalist of the year by the Country Music Association, and a furor that led to the 2019 removal of the hip-hop artist Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” from Billboard’s country chart.

In her statement regarding the album, Beyoncé addressed her own experience of that strain of criticism, saying, “My hope is that years from now, the mention of an artist’s race, as it relates to releasing genres of music, will be irrelevant.”

With other Black performers like Mickey Guyton and Brittney Spencer gaining popularity and visibility within country music , “Cowboy Carter” may be positioned to light the match on the debate, said Francesca Royster, the author of “Black Country Music: Listening for Revolutions.”

“We’re in the midst of Black country artists, especially Black women, really looking backwards, trying to get us to change the historical narrative of who belongs in country music, who’s allowed to cross over and the racial dynamics of that,” Royster said.

Royster added that she is looking forward to seeing how Beyoncé’s legion of fans, known as the BeyHive, respond to challenges to the singer’s country authenticity.

Already, fans have organized an online system to request that country music stations play the album’s first two singles, helping to ensure they take their place in the country canon.
