Just returned from a trip to the Ohio State vs. Notre Dame game in South Bend. Everything about the weekend was top notch. Of course, winning the game was very exciting, but that was out of Travel Partners control. What was in their control was very well done. The busses were there on time with great drivers. The lunches were good, and snacks and drinks were plentiful. The hotel was only four miles from campus, so the trip to and from the fame was quicker than I expected. The tail-gate before the game and the party Friday night was filled with short lines for food, and there was a band Friday and big TV screens Saturday to watch other games. Staff was very friendly and helpful. This is the third football trip we have taken with Travel Partners and I wouldn't consider going with anyone else! Great trip! Go Bucks! Kay Marshall (husband, daughter, son-in-law and grandson agree).

Natives abroad yearn for the pubs and the "craic" that teem in this ever-growing city. Known for its friendly folk, vibrant pubs, and deep-rooted appreciation for music, literature, and the arts, Dublin offers a warm welcome and a treasure trove of experiences for visitors eager to explore its charming neighbourhoods, historical sites, and fascinating traditions.

Dublin, Ireland

Dublin's attractions are as diverse as they are plentiful: from the 11th-century Christ Church Cathedral to the Leprechaun Museum to the Guinness Storehouse, this city has a wide selection of things to do and see. The plethora of literary pubs has earned its status as one of just five UNESCO Cities of Literature on the planet. You can raise a pint to writers like James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, and Bram Stoker or explore the life and works of poet W.B. Yeats at the National Library. Dublin is a great city to explore on foot. From the gracious city parks of Merrion Square and Iveagh Gardens to the grand Georgian architecture and alfresco café culture of South William and Drury Streets, there's a lot to divert your attention. And don't forget Temple Bar–a cobblestoned cultural enclave of galleries, restaurants, hopping pubs, and the lively Meeting House Square.

Dublin

Dublin's streets are a busy mix of past and present. This city has always inspired writers, visitors, and political firebrands alike. To walk these streets is to journey through history–from the city's Viking roots by the banks of the river Liffey to its atmospheric medieval churches with their mummified remains and holy relics. The more recent architecture includes the gracious Georgian streets, as well as museums, theatres, and several parks where one can escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

Passport / Visa

Ireland’s passport and visa requirements vary for different nationalities: if you are a UK citizen, you can just use official photo identification, whereas if you are an EU citizen, you just need a national identity card. Visitors from EU countries (including Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein), USA, Australia, Canada and New Zealand, don’t need a visa to visit the Republic or Northern Ireland. South African visitors can visit the Republic of Ireland visa-free, but they need a UK visa in order to enter Northern Ireland. If you're not sure whether or not to apply for a visa, we recommend you contact the embassy or consulate in your country.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Dublin is during the summertime (May to August) when the weather is warmer than the rest of the year and you can enjoy numerous festivals. Unfortunately, the summer season is also the most expensive time to visit. So, if you’re planning a vacation to Dublin but you don't want to spend a fortune, Spring and Fall make for a happy medium with moderate temperatures, less crowded streets and lower prices.

Public Transport

Dublin has an extensive bus network but only a few rail and tram lines. Most of the buses are operated by Dublin Bus with some smaller companies operating other routes, most usefully an express service to Dublin Airport operated by Aircoach. If you plan to use buses more than a few times in Dublin, it's well worth getting some type of prepaid ticket or pass, many of which are also valid on rail and/or tram services, such as the Leap Card. While the rail service is not extensive, a nice way to see Dublin Bay is to take a trip on the DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) suburban train and travel from the city centre as far as Bray. It's not particularly expensive and you get to see some spectacular views of Dublin Bay. LUAS trams began service in 2004. The Red Line connects the two main railway stations of Heuston and Connolly which is also the route of the most popular points of interest for tourists.

CBP Officer with PPE

Preclearance operates at 15 locations worldwide

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Preclearance is the strategic stationing of CBP personnel at designated foreign airports to inspect travelers prior to boarding U.S.-bound flights. With Preclearance, travelers then bypass CBP and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) inspections upon U.S. arrival and proceed directly to their connecting flight or destination.

Today, CBP has more than 600 officers and agriculture specialists stationed at 15 Preclearance locations in 6 countries: Dublin and Shannon in Ireland; Aruba; Bermuda; Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates; Nassau in the Bahamas; and Calgary, Toronto, Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, Victoria, and Winnipeg in Canada.

In 2019, CBP personnel stationed abroad precleared 22 million travelers, representing over 16 percent of all commercial air travelers to the United States.

The History of Preclearance

The preclearance experience, the benefits of preclearance.

In operation since 1952, Preclearance has proven benefits for all major stakeholders in the air travel industry. Click below to learn about the specific benefits for each group.

Traveler Benefits

  • No Security or Waiting Upon U.S. Arrival - Skip CBP and TSA inspection lines upon arrival in the U.S and proceed directly to a connecting flight or final destination.
  • Easier Domestic Connections - Accept tighter connection windows at U.S. airports and be less likely to miss a domestic connection.

Airline Benefits

  • Cost Savings - Access less expensive U.S. domestic gates and more flexible arrival times at airports in the U.S.
  • Increase U.S. Market Access - Establish new routes to desirable U.S. destinations that meet growing traveler demand.

Airport Benefits

Government Benefits

  • Enhance Security – Bolster the safety and security of all travelers while facilitating efficient trade and travel.

The south's largest tandem rally comes to Laurens County

T he south's biggest tandem rally chose Laurens County as one of their destinations this year. Georgia Tandem Rally brought about 140 bikers to town on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Some people might spend their Memorial Day weekend relaxing. But not tandem biker Mark Gellman.

"It's something you can do together with your significant other. It's healthy. Exercise is medicine. I am a doctor of behavioral medicine so I truly believe this is what keeps us young and keeps us going," Gellman said.

He joined his partner and other bikers exploring all over the county- from Chester, Rentz, Dexter, and Dublin.

"Everyone has been very friendly. 'Where are you riding today? You know, be safe'. So everyone's been very nice. So it's been an enjoyable stay here," Gellman said.

He thinks the best way to travel through a new town isn't on four wheels.

"Out of car experiences. Smelling things, seeing things, versus being stuck in an air-conditioned car," Gellman said.

Bikers were greeted with a welcome party at Saltwater Fishery , Rosie’s Ice Cream and Market on Madison . To cool down from the exercise, bikers visited the county's newest watering hole- Crooked Finger Brewing.

"It was good, we were pretty well packed out," Crooked Finger Brewing partner Michael Bramblett said.

They opened their doors about two weeks ago, and have seven beers on tap, along with a food truck, outdoor patio, and family-friendly games.

"This is a you know, community building. You know, a kind of project where you know people of all walks of life, you know, all ages can come and enjoy themselves in a safe, fun environment," Bramblett said.

He said it took a while to bring their vision to life since the building was abandoned for decades. It was set to be demolished because of how run-down it became.

"We've done an incredible amount of work, ground up. We stripped the building. We took, we took everything out you know, and had to do a ton of structural work," Bramblett said.

Crooked Finger Brewing i s open Wednesday through Sunday. For a list of hours, visit their Facebook page.

British Airways – a member of International Airlines Group (a Headline Partner of FTE EMEA and FTE Ancillary & Retailing , Dublin, 11-13 June 2024) – has opened a totally renovated lounge at Lagos Airport, following a six-month refurbishment.

The space has been designed to give customers more room to enjoy an upgraded food & beverage experience. It aims to allow customers to relax, dine or work in a premium space, while also exhibiting local art from Akoje Gallery.

Following significant investment, the airline has created zones throughout the 360sqm of space to cater for different customers’ needs. For those who want to dine ahead of the evening flight to London, there is a self-serve dining area with a wide selection of freshly-made dishes. The food and drink menu offers a range of Nigerian classics and British-inspired dishes, which will change regularly. Customers can also pull up a chair at a newly-built bar where a bartender will serve drinks including cocktails, wine, and soft drinks. Champagne and canapes will also be offered to customers travelling in First Class.

To commemorate British Airways’ strong association with Nigeria, art from local artists will be displayed across the lounge. The airline has launched a partnership with Akoje Gallery – founded by Maro Itoje and Khalil Akar – to curate an innovative new in-lounge exhibition, featuring and celebrating guest artists.

The newly-imagined lounge space features a quiet room with day beds, while the main area features relaxing sofas and clusters of tables and chairs. Customers needing to work can take advantage of new printing facilities.

“We’re focused on investing in the entire customer journey, not just onboard,” said Calum Laming, Chief Customer Officer, British Airways. “For many of our customers, lounges are an important part of their experience, and the re-design of our Lagos lounge is a key part of our transformation strategy across our lounges around the world. We’re delighted to open our doors to this stunning lounge in Lagos and we’re confident customers will enjoy spending time in this cleverly created space.”

The lounge is open to customers travelling in Club World (business) and First, as well as Silver and Gold Executive Club Members.

Tourist Information
