21 BEST Travel Gifts for Couples [2024 Gift Guide]

Short on time? Our picks for the best travel gifts for couples are the National Geographic Destinations Book , Couple’s Travel Journal , and Custom Etsy Artwork .

The best travel gifts for couples to use before, during, or after their next adventure.

Did you know that traveling helps couples stay together longer?

I’m not saying this rhetorically. The findings of a 2013 U.S. Travel Association concluded, “Couples who travel together have healthier, happier relationships compared to those who do not.”

As the study explains, traveling helps build and maintain relationships. This is true in friendships but especially in romantic partnerships.

If you’re reading this article, I probably don’t need to sell you on why you should travel.

You’re already thinking of your favorite traveling couple or a giftee who loves travel, and I’m here to help out with some travel gift ideas.

These travel gifts for couples are unique, personalized, thoughtful, and go far beyond the same old, run-of-the-mill travel-sized games you can pick up at a souvenir shop.

Table of Contents

National Geographic Destinations Book

Product photos for the Journeys of a Lifetime book.

Looking for gift ideas for couples and travel lovers to help them discover and plan life-changing trips?

Journeys of a Lifetime by National Geographic has more than 500 recommendations for amazing adventures and memorable experiences.

From romantic destinations to thrilling journeys, this book has it all.

This book would make a great wedding gift for a traveling couple. Imagine receiving this book at your wedding and spending time flipping through it with your partner, pointing out all the places you’d like to go.

(Psst: in search of great gift ideas for traveling couples that love food? National Geographic has a book similar to this centered around food experience).

Customizable Scratch-Off Map

Product photo for the Personalized Scratch Off Map.

I love when I get the chance to visit a different country. Partly, that’s because I can’t wait to get home and use my scratch-off world map!

Scratch-off maps make great gifts for couples who enjoy exploring the world together.

I love this specific option from Etsy because of the hand-drawn watercolor detailing. You can personalize it with your own wording (and font) across the bottom.

I don’t think you can go wrong with this fun travel gift idea!

Product photo for the Black Sling Crossbody Backpack.

Looking for travel gift ideas for couples that both partners can use?

This sling bag is unisex, making it suitable for either partner to carry.

Here’s why it’s useful: while exploring a new place, traveling couples usually shop together… which means they bring new items home.

Even if you’re not shopping, you’ll need a space for items like water bottles, extra chargers, etc.

This bag is just the right size to hold the things you carry or accumulate throughout your day, but is still easy to wear and hand off to each other.

Hanging Toiletry Bag

Product photo for the Unisex Hanging Travel Toiletry Bag.

Although some people say that practical travel gifts can be tedious, I don’t find that true. For example, I think this hanging toiletry bag is a great gift.

Couples share hotel rooms, and therefore, they share bathrooms.

Anyone who has shared a hotel bathroom knows how easily the sink space can fill up with toiletries… so keep items separate in a shared bathroom on the next trip with a hanging toiletry bag.

This Elviros toiletry bag is an excellent choice because the (artificial) leather is water-resistant. The simple color options are suitable for anyone!

Passport Holders

Product photo for the Passport Holder For Couples.

Passport holders are always a good idea!

This is the perfect travel gift idea for couples who like to match. After all, any travel-loving couple will probably be best friends with each other…. and their passports.

I prefer this holder from Etsy because it’s a travel-themed gift that allows personalization by choice of color and name.

Help them keep their passport secure and identifiable by gifting them this set.

Just remember this listing is for one individual passport, so to form a set, you’ll have to purchase two.

Luggage Tags

Product photo for the Leather Anniversary Luggage Tags.

How sweet would matching luggage tags for travel couples be?

This Etsy listing is for custom beautiful leather luggage tags. The tagline at the bottom reads “Traveling together since __ [Insert Year],” which makes them great gifts for couples because they honor an anniversary.

Little details like this sound perfect for a travel couples’ gift.

Product photo for the Samsonite Omni 2 in black.

We all know a person who needs new luggage. If your giftee is one of those people, a lovely carry-on luggage like this Samsonite Omni is a great travel gift idea.

When it comes to luggage, I’m on team hardshell. I just love how durable this luggage style is. I always lean towards choosing a dark color, so that I’ll worry less about the outside getting nicked or dirty.

P.S. This style comes in additional sizes if you want something other than a standard carry-on.

Check out more suitcase options in our in-depth guide to hardshell luggage .

Luggage Scale

Product photo for the Etekcity Luggage Scale.

This handy little tool is one of the best gifts you can get your travel couple to save money.

Let me explain–

I purchased this luggage scale when I began to travel internationally, and I can’t stress enough how much I love it.

I never have to worry about unplanned fees at the airport– one less thing to stress about when heading to different travel destinations.

While this is a fun little gift, it’s also the perfect complement to any other luggage-related gifts listed above.

Travel Pillow

Product photo for the Travel Pillow for Airplane.

The last thing anyone wants is a grumpy travel partner. A long travel day is conducive to… precisely that.

That’s why a great gift idea for couples can be something seemingly mundane– like a travel pillow.

Travel pillows come in handy on long flights. Sure, they improve your chances of sleeping, but they’re also great for overall comfort when you watch movies or read books.

Encourage your travel-loving couple to try one out on their next flight!

Packing Cubes

Product photo for the Think Tank Photo Clothing Cube.

Packing cubes are great for keeping clothes organized. They can be the perfect couples travel gift for an adventurous couple.

I’m talking about a pair that enjoys camping trips and backpacking or who may be sharing a suitcase.

Think Tank Photo cubes are one of our favorites to recommend because of their high-quality materials and see-through covers.

The transparent outer shell helps you easily identify whose cube is whose– an excellent feature for couples.

You can find more information about them (and other styles!) in our article that ‘unpacks’ whether packing cubes are worth it !

Cork Globe with Pushpins

Product photo for the Cork Globe with Pushpins.

As I mentioned, I think a perfect gift idea for travel couples is any sort of mark-off map.

Scratch-off maps are popular, but consider a globe if you feel like doing something a little more off-the-beaten-path!

The concept is the same: you mark each location you’ve traveled to with the included push pins.

Whenever I notice an item like this in someone’s home, I’m always drawn to check it out.

I love how this travel gift idea is a piece of home decor and a conversation starter. You can truly get to know people by discussing travel stories.

Blanket

Giant Huge Thin Boho Throw Blanket

It can be hard to know which travel gifts to pick for a honeymoon or a romantic trip.

I think an oversized beach towel or blanket is one of the best gifts for couples headed anywhere they’ll be spending time outdoors.

I always find myself using mine on trips, whether I’m headed to the beach or a city park.

This choice from Amazon is portable and large enough for two. The size helps keep couples close together and interacting in the same shared space instead of separated by singular towels.

Product photo for the World Atlas Photo Box.

This memory box is a travel gift idea for couples to use once they’re home…but those gifts can be just as useful!

I collect everything when I travel. Ticket stubs for transportation or museums, tour brochures– you name it, I keep it.

These items will end up in my scrapbooks…buuut it usually takes me some time to make that happen.

In the interim, they live in a memory box like this.

I’m especially fond of any memory boxes with an atlas print because it reminds me that what’s inside is from all over the world.

Custom Travel Photo Drawing

Product photo for the Custom Travel Photo Drawing.

If you’re looking for unique travel gifts for couples, get something truly unique: a custom Etsy artwork commission.

This seller creates digital watercolors using the photo you choose to include with your order.

My best friend did this for her boyfriend after a memorable ski trip. She commissioned an artist to paint the mountain they had enjoyed skiing down the most.

Now, it’s a decoration for their home that also has so much meaning behind it!

Custom Jigsaw Puzzle

Product photo for the Custom Jigsaw Puzzle.

Another unique travel gift idea is this custom jigsaw puzzle, a travel gift for the couple that has everything.

Whether you’re looking for a gift idea for a couple you’re friends with, or you’re shopping for your significant other, I’m sure it won’t be hard to find some amazing photos from the couples’ travel adventures.

Pick your favorite image, and send it in with your Etsy order. The seller will create this beautiful wooden jigsaw puzzle.

This gift will always be special because it’s intimately personalized to the travel couple who took the picture.

Travel Buddy Tshirts

Product photo for the Travel Buddies Matching Tees.

This set of travel buddy t-shirts is a fun gift idea.

You could wear these while traveling or just as pajama shirts in the hotel room. I’d lean towards the latter and enjoy it just as much.

Or what about designating these travel gifts for couples as plane ride outfits? We all know how a long flight can make you feel…why not have a fun and comfy t-shirt to make it all that much better?

Personalized Travel Ornament

Product photo for the Personalised Travel Places Location Sign Post.

Looking for travel gift ideas for the holidays?

This personalized travel ornament makes another unique travel gift choice.

This birch plywood engraved ornament is a fun gift for a couple that’s had a busy year. Simply list the destinations the Etsy seller should include, and they’ll create an etched ornament.

Though the listing is pictured with four destinations, you can add additional signposts if your favorite travel couple has been extra busy with trips this year.

Personalized keepsakes make for unique gifts because they will be tailored entirely to the traveling couple you purchase them for.

Product photo for the Adventure Book Scrapbook.

Scrapbooks are another excellent gift idea for couples who love recording their travel memories.

Plus, if both partners enjoy contributing, this gift could encourage some real quality time together.

This cherry and maple wood scrapbook has a beautiful atlas etching on the front, complete with the wording “The Adventures of Me + You.”

You can tweak the book to your liking with the choice of hardware colors, binding colors, and paper type.

Sometimes, the best travel gifts can be ones you use after you return home.

Couple’s Travel Journal

Product photo for the Travel Journal and Photo Album.

What do you get for a couple that travels a lot?

A designated place to record their (many) travel memories!

This journal is a great gift idea because you can bring it on the trip or leave it at home. I’m biased towards recording things in the moment– this journal isn’t too heavy or large, so it’s possible to bring it with you.

At the same time, days can get busy and full when traveling. They also have the option to leave this at home and spend quality time recounting their trip together upon their return.

I love the versatility that this gift offers.

Ticket Shadow Box

Product photo for the Ticket Shadow Box.

It’s possible to get travel-themed gifts for couples that blend in with their home nicely.

This shadow box frame has an opening at the top, which allows you to fill it with items like ticket stubs or beer caps.

I love that whenever you look at this box, it’s an instant reminder of adventure.

I think this ticket shadow box is the perfect gift for couples looking for a way to decorate their home.

Airbnb Gift card

Product photo for the Airbnb Gift card.

Let’s talk getaway gifts for couples: whether you want to help fund a weekend getaway or a romantic getaway for a honeymoon, consider helping with the accommodation cost.

There are so many creative and fun AirBnbs that are getaways in their own right. For example, my friend and her boyfriend had a blast staying in a cozy A-Frame cottage with a lofted bed and deck with a hot tub.

If you find a specific AirBnb you like enough, then you can center your entire vacation around it!

Depending on your budget, a choice like this can easily become a luxury travel gift for a couple.

If you like these gift ideas but feel like trying a new rental platform, check out our article about our list of Airbnb alternatives .

Best Travel Gifts for Couples

Ah, the good ol’ selfie stick. I was actually looking to see if it would make the list because I want to get one for our upcoming vacation. It gets old asking people to take all your pictures for you! Glad to know I won’t be totally outdated buying one in 2019.

My biggest problem with this post is that there are too many things to choose from! I’d prefer to buy them all…but those matching luggage tags are super cute! Possibly my friends will be first angry for them considering that they aren’t allowed to travel but well… I take the risk, I know they’ll love it!

Thanks for the ideas! My boyfriend loves it so much!!!

I love that you listed something for every budget. Those passport holders are sooo cute!

The 55 Best Gifts for Travel Lovers in 2024

Peruse these practical and thoughtful gift ideas for every traveler on your list.

travel partner gifts

Travel + Leisure / Kristin Kempa

Shopping for your travel-loving friends and family can be tricky — after all, you’ll want to ensure you’re picking up something practical, but you also don’t want to gift them something they already have. It’s also worth considering that frequent travelers, especially digital nomads, tend to live a more minimalist life. This means practical gear will reign supreme over more frivolous items.

You’ll also want to take into account the kind of travel your favorite globetrotters or influencers are into. City explorers or luxury-leaning travelers, for example, probably won’t want the same gear as someone who spends their PTO hiking and trekking through the wilderness.

The following options were hand-picked by our team to suit every type of traveler and vacationer on your list. We’ve extensively researched (or personally tested) all of the following gifts to ensure your purchase will make a thoughtful and genuinely practical addition to your loved one’s travels. Here are the best gifts travelers will love — for all budgets and needs.

Paravel Passport Case

If your favorite travelers don’t already have a high-quality passport cover, you might want to consider the Paravel Cabana Passport Case. The elegant leather case can even be personalized with a hand-painted monogram or custom graphic to add another layer of elegance. We also like that this option has an abundance of pockets and card slots to make organization easier.

Boka Fresh on the Go

The Boka Fresh on the Go set was made for travelers who avoid checking a bag at all costs. It includes everything they’ll need to maintain good oral hygiene while on the go. The toothpaste is TSA-approved and the mouthwash — this is the best part — comes in the form of chewable tablets, so it won’t even count toward their liquid quota.

Jamaica Vibes

Jamaica Vibes is one of the latest in the Assouline coffee table book family — and possibly one of the most fun options to date. The stunning visual-first book will allow travelers to reminisce about any time spent in Jamaica (or dream about future trips) while the cover and spine of the book will add a dose of elegant and trendy style to coffee tables and bookshelves.

Contiki Tour

You can’t go wrong with the gift of travel itself. If you’re looking for a big-ticket experience gift for a younger traveler in your life, look no further than a Contiki tour. The pre-packaged trips will take them all over the world with like-minded young people and range from exploring the Garden Route in South Africa to road-tripping through the Balkans.

Epicka Universal Travel Adapter

Sure, a travel adapter might not immediately come off as the most exciting gift. But any traveler will tell you just how valuable a reliable one really is. The Epicka Universal Travel Adapter is the best travel adapter in our book; it works in more than 150 countries and it’s super compact and easy to pack thanks to the modular design. Plus, you can always pair it with a flashier item like a travel-themed phone case.

SereneLife Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board

The SereneLife Stand-up Paddle Board is an excellent option for anyone who wants to bring the spirit of resort life home. We tested out a variety of inflatable paddle boards and our team agrees that this is the best board on the market thanks to the lightweight, portable design and impressive stability in the water.

LARQ Bottle PureVis

The Larq Self-cleaning Water Bottle is a true game changer for all kinds of travelers. The smart bottle uses UV technology to not just disinfect itself but also to purify the water you’re drinking. This means the jetsetter you’re shopping for will be able to comfortably drink from most water sources without worrying about getting sick.

Tommy Bahama Backpack Beach Chair

The Tommy Bahama Backpack Beach Chair is simply the best beach chair around — and it makes a great gift for road-trippers and camping enthusiasts alike. It’s super easy to transport thanks to the folding backpack design, and is surprisingly comfortable due to the adjustable head pillow and elongated seat. We also like that the frame is rust-proof, meaning it’s perfect for using at the beach or in the rain.

Intelligent Change Inc. The Five Minute Journal

Sometimes, it can be hard to live in the moment and absorb all the magic that is travel — but a gratitude journal can help ensure your globetrotter stays centered on the go. The Five Minute Journal takes, as advertised, takes just five minutes of a traveler’s time; but jotting down their thoughts for those few minutes will help them remember and appreciate the most exciting parts of their day while traveling or at home.

Andobil Car Phone Holder Mount

The best car phone holder mount in our book is the Andobil Car Phone Holder Mount, and it’ll make a great gift for road trippers and car commuters. It’s super easy to install and, once set up, is incredibly stable and easy to use while on the go. There’s also space to plug in a charger so drivers won’t have to mess around with their phone just to get some juice.

Puffer Hug 418 Scarf

Think of the Puffer Hug 418 Scarf as a stylish and equally practical alternative to the fishing vest. Hear us out: this cozy accessory serves as a regular scarf but also has tons of pockets for things like a smartphone or passport. It’s great for wearing to the airport when you need to have documents at the ready but is equally sensible for wearing to explore a new city.

Slip Silk Skinny Scrunchies

The Slip Pure Silk 4-pack Skinny Scrunchies is a fail-safe gift for travelers who want to care for their hair while they're away. The silk design is gentle on the hair and is designed to not pull or cause breakage, even with regular use. We also really like the elegant patterns and colors of the scrunchies, which can easily double as cute arm candy among a stack of bracelets.

Vinarmour Travel Wine Carrier

Wine-loving travelers will flip for the Vinarmour Travel Wine Carrier. This stunning carrier is designed to transport a bottle of wine without any risk of breakage. It features sufficient padding to keep the bottle safe while in transit, but it’s also made from leak-proof material — so even if the bottle was already damaged and cracks while in cargo, it won’t spill on the rest of your luggage.

The Harmonist Travel Coffret

The Harmonist Travel Coffret is a game-changer when it comes to feeling fresh and relaxed in transit. The set of three heavily-concentrated perfumes were designed to foster a sense of calmness and relaxation thanks to the various notes, including patchouli, pomelo, Bulgarian rose, and vanilla. It also comes with a striking travel case to keep the vials safe in transit.

Twelve South AirFly Pro

The Twelve South AirFly Pro is a T+L editor favorite and such an easy way to upgrade the economy experience. This handy little device allows travelers to use their own Bluetooth headphones or earbuds with the inflight entertainment system rather than having to use the sub-par freebies provided by the airline. The AirFly is super easy to use as well — all you have to do is plug it into the headphone jack on the plane and pair it with your headphones.

Four Seasons Velvet Slippers

There’s something inherently luxurious about slipping into a pair of hotel slippers upon check in — and the Four Seasons Velvet Slippers amplify that feeling and bring it home. These stunning slippers are made in Italy from sleek velvet and cotton with the Four Seasons logo embroidered on the top. The elastic back and rubber sole make them appropriate for both indoor and outdoor use.

Birdie Personal Safety Alarm

Here’s one for the solo women travelers on your list. The She's Birdie Personal Safety Alarm is designed to fit incognito in her handbag or pocket — but if she finds herself in any kind of trouble, it’s easy to grab and sound the alarm to draw attention and deter an attack. All she has to do is pull off the top tab to activate the 130-decibel siren and flashing strobe light.

Dagne Dover Tech Organizer

Nobody thinks they need a tech organizer while traveling, but when you take into account all the cables and adapters required to make international travel smooth, having a specific spot to keep everything untangled is major. The Dagne Dover Arlo Tech Organizer is small enough to pop into a carry-on but has plenty of interior space to store everything a traveler needs.

Lindsay Albanese Toptote Leather Hat Holder

Traveling with a cute hat seems like a great idea, but in practice it can be a bit of a pain. The Lindsay Albanese Toptote Leather Hat Holder allows travelers to bring along a wide-brim hat without having to wear it the entire commute or risking it getting crushed in a suitcase. The clip attaches to the brim of a hat and the built-in carabiner lets you pop it onto a handbag or carry-on for a hands-free solution.

Diptyque Travel Cleansing & Moisturizing Set

This cleansing and moisturizing set will be a welcome addition to any routine whether at home or on the go. The decadent set includes both rinse-free and regular hand wash as well as a moisturizing hand lotion — all of which smell just like your favorite luxury hotel bath products. We also like that this option comes with a cute carrying case that makes it easy to store the items in a handbag or carry-on.

Vasco V4 Language Translator Device

World travelers always have a few favorite travel products they swear by. Pokoloko Harem Towel

The Pokoloko Harem Towel is handcrafted using 100 percent Turkish cotton by artisans in Turkey — and it’s the perfect beach bag essential. It’s very lightweight and rolls down much smaller than the average towel. However, it’s also incredibly absorbent and quick-drying, so travelers can pop it back into their beach bag at the end of the day without worrying about lugging home a soggy towel.

lululemon Everywhere Belt Bag 1L

It’s called the Everywhere Belt Bag for a reason! This Lululemon staple has quickly become a cult classic for travelers (it has quite literally been everywhere this year). The adjustable belt bag is super convenient for everything from hiking to exploring cities hands-free, and the durable nylon material means you won’t have to worry about potential spillage or getting stuck in the rain (it’ll wipe clean with a bit of water).

Longchamp Le Pliage Filet Mesh Bag

Regular travelers know the importance of throwing a decent-sized tote into their luggage. After all, you never know when you’ll need the extra bit of space while on the road. The Longchamp Le Pliage Filet L Mesh Bag offers a sophisticated take on the humble mesh tote complete with a snap closure and both a top handle and shoulder strap for added versatility.

Conair Travel Garment Dual Voltage Steamer

The Conair Power Steam Handheld Travel Garment Steamer makes looking and feeling put together on the road a snap. The compact steamer is small enough to slip into a carry-on bag and pull out as needed while traveling. It boasts a 35-second heat-up time so the traveler in your life can power away wrinkles and creases in no time at all.

YETI Roadie 24 Cooler

The Yeti Roadie 24 Hard Cooler will be well received by the road trip warriors and beach bums on your list. Not only is it super aesthetically pleasing, but it can also actually fit an incredible amount in such a compact space — we’re talking up to 33 cans, 26 pounds of ice, and even full-sized bottles of wine.

Loop Quiet Ear Plugs

You don’t quite realize how high-quality the Loop Quiet earplugs are until you really need them. The surprisingly stylish earplugs were designed to be comfortable while sleeping and will serve as a major blessing the next time your gift recipient has been put in a hotel room next to a crying baby or bachelorette party.

Paravel Mini Fold-up Backpack

The Paravel Mini Fold-Up Backpack earned the top spot in our books as the best mini backpack of 2024 , and it’s easy to see why. It’s easy to fit all the essentials — think a tablet, a wallet, sunscreen, and shoes — but it also folds down into the size of a wallet when not in use, which makes it great for tucking into a carry-on bag in case of emergencies. We also love that this bag has the option to be monogrammed, making your gift all the more thoughtful.

Béis The Cosmetic Case

We love Béis for its cheeky and innovative take on travel accessories — and the Cosmetic Case in particular is one of our top picks of the year for best makeup cases . We love that this option is highly durable but still elegant in design and also has a generous-sized built-in mirror that makes it easy to do makeup or skincare while on the go. It’s also worth noting that this case is available in eight different colorways, so you can choose one that’ll best suit their specific style.

Paravel Aviator Carry-on Plus

If the traveler on your list is in need of a new carry-on, you’ll want to consider the Paravel Aviator Carry-on Plus. This innovative carry-on bag earned top marks in our books as the best piece of luxury luggage thanks to its super sturdy build and variety of organization options within the luggage. It’s also worth noting that all carriers are ethically produced — which makes this a great gift for conscious travelers as well.

Baggu Nylon Crescent Bag

We love a crossbody bag for travel — and the Baggu Nylon Crest Bag is definitely the top crossbody bag of the year in our books. We love just how versatile this bag is and how easily it can be packed into a suitcase without adding any bulk or weight. The crossbody bag is also highly durable and even machine washable, which is a huge perk for travelers who don’t want to have to baby their accessories while on the go.

Awake Caffeinated Chocolate Energy Bar

Frequent flyers know the perils of trying to get a good cup of coffee on an airplane or in an airport — which is why the Awake Caffeinated Chocolate Energy Bites are such a game changer for caffeine-loving travelers. The tasty chocolate bites have the caffeine equivalent of half a cup of coffee, and also offer a sweet sugar kick that’ll help them get through everything from red-eye flights to long layovers.

Nitecore MT21C Flashlight

You might not immediately think of a flashlight as a standout gift for a traveler — but a rechargeable flashlight is a packing essential for travelers who do any kind of adventure or outdoor traveling. The Nitecore MT21C Flashlight is one T+L editors swear by thanks to its compact size, impressive brightness, and longevity (it has a maximum output of 1000 lumens and a peak beam distance of 201 yards). It’s also adjustable by 90 degrees which can be highly practical for getting into tight spaces.

Moon Dissolving Whitening Strips

There’s something about indulging in a self-care routine while flying that can make an economy seat feel like you’re sitting in first class — and what could be more luxurious than whitening your teeth while on the go? The MOON Teeth Whitening Strips were designed to be used while traveling, the strips work the same as your classic Crest variety, but all you have to do is stick them on and wait for them to dissolve — no sink or rinsing required.

Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet

Sure — most airplanes have built-in in-flight entertainment, but boy does it suck when you board a flight only to realize there’s no screen on the seat back. The Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet will let them download all their favorite shows and movies to watch on the flight. It’s also great for reading e-books or checking into social media while in transit.

Aer Travel Weekender

The Aer Travel Weekender is our favorite carry-on duffel bag right now thanks to its versatility and durable design. We like that this bag can easily be used as a top-handle tote, but that it also has a built-in strap that makes it easy to use as a duffel bag while on the go. It’s worth noting that the bag also has a 16-inch padded laptop sleeve, which means they’ll be able to keep their laptop or tablet safe and secure while traveling.

Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3

A portable speaker makes a great addition to any traveler’s packing list. Not only does it ensure the vibes will be good no matter where they find themselves, it’s also a great tool for playing white noise and making it easier to fall asleep in unfamiliar places. We highly recommend the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3; this one is super easy to connect to any phone and is both waterproof and dustproof — so they won’t have to be precious with it while traveling.

nCamp Café Portable Coffee Maker

If you’ve got a coffee lover on your list, the nCamp Café Portable Coffee Maker is going to be a game changer in terms of the quality of their morning joe. This compact coffee maker is especially great to bring on camping trips because it crafts espresso-style coffee without any power source. The only thing they’ll need is a hot water source and they’ll have cafe-quality brew wherever they go (which, let’s be honest, will also save them a ton of money on morning coffee).

Nintendo Switch

Travel can be endlessly thrilling and entertaining — but there’s a lot of downtime that comes with it as well. A Nintendo Switch is going to make a great gift for the gamers on your list (or those traveling with little ones). The beauty of the Switch is that they’ll be able to use it as a handheld to pass the time at airports or train stations, but it can also be set up television-style to play party games at the hotel room or Airbnb.

Infinity Pillow Travel Pillow

Unless you’re lucky enough to get a miraculous upgrade to business class, sleeping on a plane can be a struggle. That’s where the Infinity Pillow Travel Pillow comes in. This innovative pillow was designed with neck support and can be adapted to work whether they’re in the window, aisle, or even the middle seat.  It’s also temperature regulating, so it won’t make them sweaty mid-flight, and doubles as an eye mask.

Call You When I Land: A Memoir

Travel writer and author Nikki Vargas spares no detail in her evocative memoir Call You When I Land , which follows Vargas as she relentlessly pursues her dream career, and in turn, dream lifestyle. The juicy travelogue is ideal for fans of Eat Pray Love or What I Was Doing While You Were Breeding . Oh — and there’s a love story and murder mystery baked into it as well. Can you say beach read?

Nimble Champ Portable Charger

It doesn’t matter how streamlined their travel is — every traveler struggles with having juice for all their devices while on the go. Sometimes it’s a lack of adequate adapters, and sometimes it’s long excursions with no charging outlet in sight. Either way, a decent portable charger just makes things easier. We love the Nimble Champ Portable Charger in particular. It’s compact and durable, but it’s also eco-friendly having been crafted in part from recycled water bottles.

Slip Lovely Lashes Contour Sleep Mask

Traveling without a sleep mask sucks — especially if you’re sensitive to light or plan to sleep on the plane. The Slip Lovely Lashes Contour Sleep Mask in particular is an awesome gift and great alternative to the classic eye mask model. It’s crafted from real silk, so it won’t pull or mess up their hair. It also has a contoured eye area so it won’t squish their eyes or lashes, even if they use it all night long.

Away The Insider Packing Cubes

Away The Insider Packing Cubes are a game changer for travelers who want to pack light and travelers who like to pack more than they might need. For starers, these packing cubes allow them to organize their clothing by categories, which allows them to have a better grasp on exactly what they have. The cubes also gently compress clothing which makes it easy to fit everything into a carry-on or smaller-sized suitcase as needed.

Skyborne iTravel Folio 4.0

Staying organized and on the ball on travel days makes the whole experience go much smoother — and that’s why we love the Skyborne iTravel Folio 4.0. This sleek travel wallet is designed to fit all their travel documents (including passport, smartphone, AirPods, and more) in one stylish zippered wallet. It also has built-in charging capabilities to keep their electronics juiced up, no matter where they are.

Rewined Bordeaux Candle

If they’re always waxing poetic about their trip to wine country, why not gift them an olfactory memory of their time? The Bordeaux Candle by Rewined comes as an homage to the French countryside with notes of Maritime Pine, Crushed Herbs, and Cypress that are designed to transport them right back to the vineyards of Bordeaux. Rewined’s candles are also beautifully made and will look just as good as they smell on a coffee table or kitchen counter.

Pocket Tripod Universal Kit

Let’s be honest: no matter how cool we think we are, everyone wants to get some good photos to share on social media (or to look back on) while traveling. The Pocket Tripod Universal Kit is a super compact and discreet alternative to the larger tripods on the market. It’s about the size of a credit card and is easy to pop onto a smartphone for an instant tripod, wherever they find themselves.

Foreo Luna Mini 2 Facial Cleansing Brush

Traveling can wreak some serious havoc on the skin — which is why skincare-loving travelers (and really anyone who likes a clean face!) will flip for the FOREO LUNA Mini. This innovative skincare tool uses T-sonic pulsations to clean the skin, brushing away any traces of makeup, dirt, or acne-causing bacteria that might be lurking on their face after a long flight or day of exploration.

Audible Membership

If you’re shopping for a traveler who is big on podcasts or listening to audio books while on the go, a subscription to Audible is pretty much a no-brainer. This subscription will get them one free audiobook per month and allow them to listen to all kinds of different books at their own pace while traveling. It’s also a great alternative to packing various books or having to remember an e-reader; all their audiobooks will be accessible right on their smartphone or tablet!

The Essential Guide to Turkish Wine

The Essential Guide to Turkish Wine by wine writer and author Andrea Lemieux is the only English-language anthology you’ll find sharing the ins and outs of Turkish wine. Turkey is one of the oldest wine-producing countries in the world, and Lemieux’s comprehensive guide will inspire them to book a trip to the wine trail of Turkey thanks to her captivating (and comprehensive) descriptions and gorgeous illustrations and visuals to match.

Riemot Luggage Cup Holder

It would be nice to have another set of hands when rolling through the airport, wouldn’t it? Well, that’s where the Riemot Luggage Travel Cup Holder comes in. This handy attachment can fit onto any rolling suitcase or carry-on. It not only accommodates a beverage, but also easily fits a wallet or passport and most smartphones. There’s nothing better than being hands-free without having to dig through a handbag or backpack to get out the essentials.

BasicConcepts Airplane Foot Hammock

Sure — it might look a little cheesy at first glance… but they will be incredibly grateful for this whimsical gift when they’re on hour five of their next red-eye flight. The Basic Concepts Airplane Foot Hammock attaches underneath the tray table, providing them with instant relief of aches and pains that might crop up after sitting upright for hours on end. It can adjust to three different positions as well, so they’ll be able to continue to change their position throughout the flight for added comfort.

Steamline Luggage The Palm Cosmetics Set

Frequent flyers are always on the hunt for streamlined packing accessories — and this cosmetics set from Steamline Luggage is a standout option. It ranks number one in our best travel pouch of 2024 thanks to its charming tropical-inspired prints and the fact that the pouches are crafted from recycled water bottles. The pouches can easily fit inside of one another when not in use and lay flat, which makes them easy to pack and store.

1,000 Places to See Before You Die

1,000 Places to See Before You Die is one of our favorite travel-focused reference books. The anthology is a veritable bucket list that is just as good for armchair travel as it is for reference when planning a trip. We also love flipping through this book to reflect on all the places we’ve been — the intriguing descriptions and photography evoke memories while also seeing even the most popular tourist destinations and monuments in a refreshing new light.

Native Union Universal Sling

The Native Union Universal Sling is designed to pop onto smartphones like a phone case — but it comes with a built-in strap that allows travelers to wear their phone like a crossbody bag or around their neck like a lanyard. It’s available in a variety of colorways and is made from recycled material for a more sustainable approach. It’s perfect for travel as it’s more secure than throwing a phone in a pocket or bag as well.

Go Neck Pillow

Go Neck Pillow

Ostrichpillow makes a whole bunch of nap-friendly designs , but we're partial to the classic Go Neck pillow for long-haul flights or lengthy road trips. It is made with a supportive (and compressive) memory foam, and has a Velcro close for an easily adjustable fit. Plus, it comes with a carrying case.

A bag.

Béis The Weekender Bag

Nixon Wizard Stick Beverage Sling

Nixon Wizard Stick Beverage Sling

This is a niche gift, but there's someone on your list who will absolutely love it. Nixon's insulated beverage sling fits six cans at once; they can bring it along to picnics, camping trips, tailgates, or hikes to keep drinks cold and avoid the clunkiness of a tote bag or backpack.

The 36 Best Gifts for Frequent Travelers

Samantha Schoech

By Samantha Schoech

Samantha Schoech is a writer focusing on gifts. She spends her time finding things that combine quality, beauty, usefulness, and delight.

Give the globe-trotter in your life a gift that will appeal to their sense of worldly wonder. These items will make flights, long lines at customs, and hotel stays feel less arduous and more comfortable. You could also give your favorite traveler special mementos and experiences to celebrate past trips and anticipate future expeditions. Whatever type of traveler you’re shopping for, we have something here to suit their wanderlust.

Bluetooth connection

The best portable Bluetooth transmitter, the 1Mii ML300, shown on a purple background.

This small, portable transmitter sounds as good as more expensive options, and it actually works as advertised, which isn’t a given in this category.

Buying Options

Watching an in-flight movie with freebie airline earbuds is an exercise in missed dialogue and muffled music. The 1Mii ML300 allows travelers to connect their own Bluetooth headphones or earbuds to the plane’s audio system with a standard jack. This little gadget has a solid, 10-hour battery life, support for the aptX Low Latency Bluetooth codec (to improve the sync between audio and video), and the ability to pair to two sets of headphones at once. Like all the Bluetooth transmitters our audio team tested, it can produce some audio lag. Although it isn’t a flashy gift, it can make your giftee’s travel more pleasant.

Anywhere outlet

Our pick the Epicka sitting on a table by itself.

Epicka Universal Travel Adapter

With four plugs that will work in 150 countries, plus four USB-A ports, one USB-C port, and an AC socket, this adapter is the best all-around choice for anyone traveling out of the country.

If your sojourning friend is about to travel internationally, they’ll need a reliable plug adapter. The Epicka Universal Travel Adapter contains the three most common international plugs and a US-style plug, which together cover the majority of countries around the world. It has the most USB ports—four USB-A and one USB-C—of any universal adapter our travel team tested, and it charges more devices faster. A replaceable fuse and an included spare should take care of any shockingly bad connections. Still, it doesn't cover every possible plug around the globe. For someone who is truly bopping from country to country, a multi-plug set like the Ceptics International Worldwide Travel Plug Adapter 5 Piece Set contains five different plugs, and it offers sold-separately add-ons for countries such as Brazil , India , Israel , and South Africa , which aren’t covered by “universal” adapters.

Personal-item perfection

Away The Everywhere Bag on bed with sunglasses resting against the bag.

Away The Everywhere Bag

This bag slides over the handles of your carry-on for easy transport. It’s made of durable nylon and has plenty of space for in-flight essentials.

Ah, the ideal “personal item”—the bag that’s small enough to stow under the seat in front but large enough to hold headphones, hydration, extra layers, reading material, a laptop, lunch, and whatever other items one might deem essential. It seems nearly impossible, but it can be done. Away’s The Everywhere Bag , made of water- and abrasion-resistant nylon, is our personal-item pick . It has a removable shoulder strap and a sleeve for slipping over the handles of a carry-on suitcase . Inside, your gift recipient will find a roomy interior pocket for clothes and toiletries, plus six smaller pockets and a 15-inch laptop sleeve. Outside is a single slim pocket for tickets and travel documents, and at the bag’s base is a waterproof umbrella pocket. Truly savvy packers could easily get a weekend’s worth of stuff in this bag.

Artful journaling

Hand Book Paper Co. Travelogue Watercolor Journal

This 5.25-by-8.25-inch landscape-oriented journal has 30 sheets of 90-pound watercolor paper.

travel partner gifts

Caran d'Ache Gouache Studio Set

With 14 shades and a tube of white in a reusable metal case, this gouache paint set allows for intuitive blending and layering, ideal for inspired amateur artists.

travel partner gifts

Kuretake Gansai Portable Watercolor Set

The travel version of our favorite watercolor paint set also comes with a self-cleaning water brush and a fine-tip black pen for outlines and definition.

One needn’t be a painter to enjoy the craft while traveling. Set a burgeoning artist up right with a few excellent tools of the trade. The compact Hand Book Paper Co. Travelogue Watercolor Journal is designed to absorb watercolors but lends itself just as well to pencil, ink, or gouache. Covered in natural linen, it has pouch-ready rounded corners and an elastic strap to keep it closed. Pair it with a set of gouache paints such as those in the Caran D’Ache Gouache Studio Set , which have a satisfying opacity and don’t require the patience, foresight, or skill of watercolors. Of course, some people prefer the abstract flow of watercolors, in which case the Kuretake Gansai Portable Watercolor Set is a better bet. Both palettes come with serviceable brushes; a more experienced painter might add a few extras as their skills progress.

Dry hair anywhere

A blue towel drying on a tree branch next to a camp site.

PackTowl Personal

Whether used for camping, hiking, traveling, or general outdoor adventuring, this towel is durable enough to handle extended abuse while remaining soft and comfortable.

For adventurers who camp, stay in hostels, or otherwise travel rough, a personal towel is essential. Our pick is the PackTowl Personal , primarily for its odor-preventing antibacterial treatment, ideal for when laundry opportunities are few and far between. At 25 by 54 inches, it’s large enough to wrap around most folks, and it feels soft and substantial against the skin. It dries quickly, shakes free of sand readily, and weighs only 6.4 ounces—a primary concern for anyone carrying it in a backpack.

Noteworthy guidebooks

Three different books from Herb Lester's guide book collection.

Herb Lester Guides

These magnificently designed fold-out maps provide unique and whimsical ways to explore dozens of locations around the world.

Gone are the days of carrying around dog-eared guidebooks to find hotels and museum hours. But there are still some things you can’t find online. The beautifully designed and lovingly written Herb Lester Guides provide travelers and armchair travelers alike with utterly unique ways to explore a new place. Serge Gainsbourg’s Paris doesn’t provide the entrance fee to the Louvre, but the gorgeous, 16-by-27-inch fold-out map, packaged in a printed cardstock case with a Gainsbourg cocktail napkin, does lead you to Studio Ferber, where the multitalented musician, actor, and director recorded the soundtrack to the hit movie Tenue de Soirée in 1986, or to L’Hôtel Meurice, where Gainsbourg often visited Salvador Dali. The series also includes John le Carre’s London ; The World of Patricia Highsmith , which touches on locations in the US, Mexico, and Europe; Andy Warhol’s New York , and dozens more.

Luggage helper

A person pulling a suitcase on wheels that has the Cincha Travel Belt bag attached to the handle.

Cincha Travel Belt

This wide nylon strap has a sturdy buckle to keep your shoulder bag, backpack, or carry-on firmly attached to your roller bag, for smoother trips through the airport.

Anyone who travels has surely precariously perched their carry-on atop their rolling suitcase, only to have it topple, swivel, or lurch. Solve that annoyance with the Cincha Travel Belt , a useful offering that comes in some snazzy colors and patterns. The concept is simple: This adjustable nylon strap cinches a smaller bag to the telescopic handles of a suitcase, thereby freeing up a hand, shoulder, or back. Yes, your traveling friend could use a bungee or even a rope for that purpose, but this item has a few touches that make it worth the upgrade: The sturdy metal buckle releases like butter, and a hidden elastic loop keeps the belt attached to the suitcase, even when it’s unclasped. Yes, this is a practical gift, but for the right traveler, it will be a real gem.

The Penkou Portable Neck Fan in front of a blue background.

Penkou Portable Neck Fan

This fan’s battery lasts all day, and several accidental drops haven’t killed it. Also, it fits comfortably around the neck without being heavy, loud, or excessively gusty.

(limited colors)

This past summer, heat records broke across the globe, and many travelers reported that they found it difficult to stay cool and comfortable on the go. New York City’s heat wave prompted staff writer Thom Dunn to explore the world of wearable neck fans , including the Penkou Portable Neck Fan . And the Penkou model, with a ring of 72 air slots that softly blow air up toward the head (but not directly into the face), was his pick. It weighs only about half a pound, and because of its smooth plastic design, it’s barely noticeable against the neck and shoulders. One large button on the front right makes it easy to cycle through the fan speeds. The rechargeable battery lasts up to 16 hours, and the fan is compact enough to slip into a carry-on.

Handy sanitizer

A person's hands refilling a bottle of Noshinku Hand Sanitizer with a Noshinku refill pouch.

Noshinku Hand Sanitizer

This flat, pocket-friendly hand sanitizer comes in sophisticated scents like vetiver, eucalyptus, and bergamot. And it’s refillable.

Traveling requires a lot of surface touching: airplanes, subways, taxis. If the pandemic taught us anything, it was that we should clean our hands as often as possible. The lovely-smelling Noshinku Hand Sanitizer is an FDA-compliant germ-killer that also contains stuff like jojoba, rosehip, argan oil, and aloe, to keep skin from drying out. Each canister is about the size of a credit card, though not quite as slim. So it can be slipped into a back pocket or a purse pocket. The best part is the canister is refillable , so your recipient can continue to use it for a long time.

Reading light

Our pick for best reading light overall, the Glocusent Bookmark Style Reading Light, shown clipped onto a book that is open to a page in the middle.

Glocusent Bookmark Style Reading Light

This chic, compact device offers five light settings, and the power indicator makes it easy to tell when to charge it.

Whether your favorite traveler is reading on a plane, train, or bed, or they’re just rifling through their suitcase, they will surely appreciate some extra light. The tiny Glocusent Bookmark Style Reading Light is our pick because it’s so lightweight and easy to carry. It twists and adjusts, so the light covers a full page, and it has simple buttons, for changing the brightness and temperature of the lighting. This lamp is so small it can clip to a paperback without weighing it down, and it fits in a pocket.

Trip planner

A spread of two pages about Alta Badia in Italy, taken from Lonely Planet’s Where to Go When travel book.

Lonely Planet’s Where to Go When

This visual travel guide suggests events and destinations for every month of the year. It’s as much an inspiration as it is a planner.

Graphically exuberant and endlessly inspiring, Lonely Planet’s Where to Go When is arranged by month, so travelers can figure out where to head on any given day. Miami’s Art Deco Weekend is in January. Consider Botswana’s Okavango floods (the best time for dugout canoe safaris) in June. This book further categorizes potential trips by budget, family-friendliness, and “expensive but worth it” (a July road trip along the Westfjords of Iceland, for example). Even if the recipient is more of an armchair traveler than a frequent globe-trotter, this book is sure to kick their wanderlust into full gear.

Luggage tracker

Apple AirTags next to each other.

Apple AirTag

AirTags leverage Apple’s huge network of devices to track down a lost suitcase, and they’re impressively accurate at pinpointing an item’s precise location.

With delayed shipping

You save $20 (20%)

Whether it was misrouted by the airline or left behind in a station waiting room, a lost suitcase can really dampen a trip. The Apple AirTag —our favorite Bluetooth tracker —does not work with non-Apple products. But if your beloved traveler owns an iPhone, AirTags are better than their competitors in just about every way—from ease of setup to location accuracy. They track belongings almost in real time. And if an airline does lose your favorite traveler’s suitcase, they will have an accurate map to point to when trying to locate it. Wirecutter staffers have also had success with slipping AirTags into the pockets of their restless kids.

Arrive refreshed

The Peace Out Puffy Eyes box next to the patches.

Peace Out Puffy Eyes

Each box contains six pairs of under-eye patches, which are infused with caffeine and hyaluronic acid to depuff tired, travel-weary eyes.

Nobody looks—or feels—as fresh as a daisy after a flight. But the Peace Out Puffy Eyes cooling under-eye patches—a longtime favorite of supervising editor Hannah Morrill—can help with both. Each box contains six pairs of crescent-shaped patches, made of a gelatinous (but not icky) biocellulose gel. The cooling effect is certainly pleasant enough. But the ingredients (caffeine, for a temporary tightening effect, and hydrators glycerin, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid) are what really do the trick for travel-worn eyes.

Safe drinking water

A person refilling a lifestraw water bottle with water from an outdoor faucet.

LifeStraw Go Series

This water bottle’s microfilter straw protects against all sorts of contaminants—from microplastics to E. coli. And it makes everyday tap water taste better.

To turn non-potable water into fresh, clean drinking water, staff writer Samantha Schoech swears by the LifeStraw Go Series water bottle (she recently sent her son off to Central America with one). Its replaceable filter removes 99.9% of contaminants and protects against common waterborne pathogens. This bottle is a little pricey, but it eliminates the need for single-use plastic bottles. And each filter cleans 1,000 gallons, which translates to roughly five years of daily use. LifeStraw also makes a 1-liter collapsible bottle for when space is tight. (To learn a little more, see our article on the LifeStraw Max Water Filter .)

Nanoblock Birds Rosella Collection Series Building Kit

Flat bags packed with tiny building blocks keep bored hands and minds occupied on long treks. The resulting builds are about the size of a fist.

A person can only watch so many in-flight movies. On long hauls, we find these Nanoblock mini building sets to be just the ticket for restless hands and minds. They’re engaging but not mentally taxing, and the sets (ranging from about 100 to 200 pieces) are small enough to lay out on a tray table and later carry home in luggage. Finished pieces—from musical instruments to cats to pizzas—are only about 3 inches tall.

Power on the go

The TravelCard Plus portable power bank.

TravelCard Plus

This power bank is one of the smallest and lightest we’ve tested. It has a powerful USB-C PD port, built-in USB-C and Lightning cables, and a rated capacity of 3,000 mAh. But it recharges slower than our other picks.

At some point, your constantly on-the-go pal will require some extra juice, and a portable charger will ensure they have it when they need it most. We like the slim and petite TravelCard Plus , which also happens to be the smallest, lightest USB portable charger we tested. But there’s more to love than just its pocketable size. The TravelCard Plus’s USB-C PD port, built-in USB-C cable, and built-in Lightning cable can fast-charge most smartphones or other handheld devices (though it recharges more slowly than our other picks ).

An unmissable luggage tag

An Ovener Silicone Luggage Tag.

Ovener Silicone Luggage Tag

This brightly colored silicone tag displays the owner’s name but keeps other personal information out of sight.

There are a few features that make the Ovener Silicone Luggage Tag superior to pricier models in our testing . For starters, due to its sturdy, silicone-and-metal cable construction, it can withstand crowded overhead bins and rough tarmac treatment. Then there’s the issue of privacy: Although the owner’s name is always fully visible, address details are revealed only after you unscrew and remove the metal cable. Also an upside: This tag comes in a range of eye-catching colors. So it can help someone spot an otherwise-nondescript suitcase on a fast-moving carousel.

Premier toiletry transport

A State Bags Bensen Dopp Kit in blue, green, and yellow color block.

State Bags Bensen Toiletry Kit

This bag includes a detachable pouch and other organizational options, so packing is easier for both long and short trips.

Use promo code WCSTATE, price includes shipping

For all manner of travelers, the State Bags Bensen Toiletry Kit is the most versatile one we tested . If your traveling pal takes longer trips and often checks their luggage, this bag folds up to stash larger items, like full shampoo bottles or contact solution; the hook hangs smoothly from a towel bar, for easy access. Our favorite feature for light packers: a removable translucent plastic pouch that holds up to four 2.7-ounce travel bottles (ideal for carry-on security checks). Available in a dozen prints and patterns, the bag also looks great and feels like a fancy, will-last-a-lifetime gift at a relatively modest price.

Small servings

A multicolor stack of the Cadence Capsules; three are filled with skincare.

Cadence Capsules

These leakproof plastic travel containers hold half an ounce of solids, liquids, or creams; magnetized sides keep them compact and easy to locate.

If your favorite excursionist wouldn’t dream of using hotel shampoo or missing a day of their skin-care regimen, a set of Cadence Capsules will serve as an anxiety-abating treat. (Less-particular travelers will appreciate our favorite simple toiletry bottles .) All six hexagonal cases are leakproof and magnetic on every side, and they can be filled with about a half-ounce of whatever the traveler’s heart desires—from serum and dry shampoo to omega-3 capsules and CBD gummies. The well inside each capsule has rounded corners, so the recipient can scrape out every last daub of their precious potions. Each vessel can be customized with a “tile” or label. But unless you know your recipient very well, we suggest giving a gift card , which will allow them to choose their own colors and tiles.

Organized packing

The Eagle Creek Pack-It Reveal Cube Set.

Eagle Creek Pack-It Reveal Cube Set

Simple and solidly constructed, these packing cubes maximize luggage space and keep everything organized.

Even for the most enthusiastic traveler, packing remains an uphill battle. The Eagle Creek Pack-It Reveal Cube Set (one of our favorites ) can make the task infinitely less arduous, and some of our testers found that this set made packing borderline pleasant. The three cubes are made of sturdy polyester, so they stay upright when empty, and the mesh windows let travelers easily scope the contents. With a clamshell design, these cubes fully open on three sides, so deeply stashed items are easily accessible. Another welcome note in the age of lost luggage: Pouches can help your favorite traveler compress stuff into a single carry-on.

Safety socks

Two pairs of Sockwell's Lifestyle Firm Compression Socks.

SockWell Men’s Lifestyle Firm Compression Socks

These compression socks offer the perfect combination of function and price. They are made of a merino wool blend, which is typical of more-expensive options.

travel partner gifts

SockWell Women’s Lifestyle Firm Compression Socks

For a true frequent flier, wearing a great pair of compression socks is both a safety and a comfort measure. Long flights can cause deep vein thrombosis and gravitational oedema (the technical term for swelling caused by sitting around too long); compression socks facilitate circulation and reduce the instances of both. SockWell Lifestyle Firm Compression Socks (available in both men’s and women’s sizes) are comfortably snug, and they’re made of a luxe, merino wool blend that hugs without constricting. The socks are cozy on a nippy flight, and they come in a handful of prints and colors that aren’t as institutional-looking as those of other compression socks we tried.

A hands-free journey

A person is standing outside, wearing the Dagne Dover Ace Fanny Pack in sage green.

Dagne Dover Ace Fanny Pack

This neoprene pack blends style and function, fitting everything from a large wallet to a makeup kit—with room to spare.

For those who like to explore new places but don’t want to carry a purse, a modern, cool fanny pack is just the right accessory. Of the 22 we tested, the Dagne Dover Ace Fanny Pack offers the best marriage of handsome looks (eight suave colors!) and plenty of storage space—it can readily hold a smartphone, a passport, a wallet, and hand sanitizer, and there are extra pockets for a transit card and some change. Wide straps make this bag comfortable to carry, and the neoprene material (think wetsuit) will keep gear dry if the weather shifts unexpectedly.

A cozy cardigan

A person wears the White + Warren Essential Cashmere Trapeze Cardigan in a blush color.

White+Warren Essential Cashmere Trapeze Cardigan

This simple, luxurious, and flattering open-front cardigan will add a layer of warmth and elegance to a trip abroad.

There is nothing worse than boarding a flight and realizing you miscalculated just how chilly airplane AC can be. One of our favorite cashmere sweaters , the White+Warren Essential Cashmere Trapeze Cardigan is a simple and luxurious piece that will keep a traveler cozy both in transit and once they’ve reached their destination. This sweater is lightweight and soft enough to nap in (it can double as a blanket, thanks to its drapey shape), and it looks polished when layered over a tee or under a jacket. Available in six muted tones, the cardigan has an airy construction, so it can fold down smaller than expected for easy packing.

Colorful little notebooks

The Pantone 10 Notebooks set, which is a box with 10 brightly colored notebooks in it.

Pantone 10 Notebooks

Each brightly colored, pocket-size notebook has 48 grid-dot pages.

Not all travel journals need to be works of art, layered with watercolor and ink. The Pantone 10 Notebooks set includes 10 brightly colored, 4-by-5.5-inch softcover notebooks that are perfect for jotting down ideas, an itinerary, or travel memories. Each notebook slips nicely into a tote or a pocket and has 48 grid-dot pages of decent-quality paper. Send your traveler out into the world with a couple of these and a good pen , and see what they return with.

Armchair travel to Japan

A family gathered around a table, playing Tokaido, the board game.

Set in Edo-era Japan, this game revels in the simple pleasures of traveling—in this case, from the city of Kyoto to Edo (what is now Tokyo).

Players journey along the Tokaido road with other travelers, stopping at hot springs, stores, temples, and inns (and collecting souvenirs and eating delicious meals as they go). The ultimate goal is to be the “best traveler,” or to have the richest experience by seeing, eating, or doing the most during your trip. The game itself is beautifully designed and simple to play; it’s not deeply competitive, though there is some strategy involved in attempting to win. The pleasure of playing Tokaido comes from relaxing and accepting the pace of the board, and letting the game reveal surprising discoveries—much like travel itself.

A window out into the world

A view into a window with flowers and a house. Words in the middle read: Open a new window somewhere in the world.

With each click in this free app, a view opens from a real window somewhere in the world, complete with sounds of birds, traffic, or blessed silence.

Sometimes the best gift is to remind someone that the world is both larger and more accessible than they realize. The strangely addictive WindowSwap allows viewers to take a break to stare out a window in cities such as Copenhagen, Manila, and Prague. Some of the window scenes are tranquil, others are not, but all suggest that there’s an infinite number of new things to see, wherever you are. The app is free, but for $5 a month, your armchair traveler will be able to look out all the windows ever uploaded, create unlimited bookmarks and playlists, and even access a back button so they can spend a little more time gazing out a favorite window.

An eye mask and a travel pillow for catching z’s

A Travelrest Nest Ultimate Memory Foam Travel Pillow.

Nidra Deep Rest Eye Mask

This lightweight, contoured mask comfortably fits a wide variety of face shapes and blocks light well. It’s best when you’re sitting upright or sleeping on your back.

travel partner gifts

Travelrest Nest Ultimate Memory Foam Travel Pillow

This compressible pillow has tall, memory-foam walls, and it offers more support than any other pillow we tested.

It’s perhaps an indictment of air travel in general that many travel items are designed to mitigate the environment, whether it’s the noise, the light, or the cramped seats of an airplane. The Nidra Deep Rest Eye Mask , a Wirecutter favorite , features contoured eyecups that rest around the eye sockets, instead of directly on the eyelids. By combining this mask with noise-cancelling headphones and a pillow, a traveler will be about as close to a sense of privacy as one can find on an airliner. For a headrest, we like the Travelrest Nest Ultimate Memory Foam Travel Pillow . It’s simple to wear, doesn’t interfere too much with headphones, and provides support even when the wearer is sitting upright.

Tiny white noise machine

A person's hand holding the Yogasleep Travel Mini Sound Machine.

Yogasleep Travel Mini Sound Machine

This sound machine is about as small as the palm of a hand and weighs less than 5 ounces. And it features a USB-rechargeable battery.

There’s no guarantee that your beloved traveler’s hotel or Airbnb will be as quiet as it promises to be. A small, portable sound machine may create enough white noise to drown out sleep-disturbing intrusions. The Yogasleep Travel Mini Sound Machine is from the same company that makes the classic Yogasleep Dohm Nova , which we recommend . The Travel Mini has six sound options, including white noise, brown noise, and three nature-inspired sounds. It also acts as a gentle night-light, with three dimmable options. What’s better than the gift of a good night’s sleep?

Those who enjoy language immersion (and disorientation) will appreciate this card game, which has players generate a unique dialect.

Part of the experience of traveling to another country is feeling lost in its language, and Dialect can help fill the gap. This game involves the birth (and eventual death) of a language and the culture that created it. At its heart, Dialect—which requires almost no setup but plenty of imagination—is as much a discussion of what language is and why it exists as it is a game. It’s also good for last-minute shoppers: Order the standard physical edition, and you’ll get a digital copy, too (online access is emailed immediately, so your loved one can start figuring out how the game is played).

Travel posters with classic appeal

Anderson Design Group World Travel Posters

These archive-quality, vintage-inspired prints depict destinations worldwide, and they come in a variety of sizes.

Years ago, senior staff writer Kit Dillon’s father went to Cuba and saw a clay statuette of Fidel Castro for sale. Kit said that when the vendor told his father the price, he said, “Castro no vale tanto” (translation: Castro isn’t worth that much). That may seem risky for an American to say while traveling alone in Cuba, but the statuette is here now looking at Kit, so somebody appreciated the joke. Ever since, Kit said when he finds a small token of Cuba—like this art print —he sends it to his father to remind him to take the trip again one day, only this time with Kit. For its World Travel Poster series , the Anderson Design Group created nostalgic images that harken back to another era of travel—and they make an excellent promissory note for a trip to come. The collection currently encompasses every country in Asia, Europe, Africa, and Central, South, and North America, and it will eventually include every country in the world. The prints come in six sizes, and the images are available on canvas or metal.

Cutlery to go

The Hydro Flask Flatware Set, displayed next to a plat on a dinner table setting.

Hydro Flask Flatware Set

This three-piece stainless flatware set helps climate-conscious travelers avoid single-use plastics, and it comes with a Velcro carrying case.

Airport food has come a long way. What hasn’t progressed: the flimsy and environmentally deplorable single-use plastic utensils you have to eat it with. Portable cutlery will give your recipient a dignified way to dine on the go. Wirecutter editor Ria Misra recommends the sturdy stainless Hydro Flask Flatware Set , which comes with a full-size fork, a knife that’s strong enough to butter a muffin (but that won’t alarm the TSA), and a spoon that’s perfect for slurping soup. This set also comes with its own carrying case, so it won’t get lost (or separated) in the dark recesses of your carry-on.

A pretty passport cover

Two hands hold a bright green Tusk Siam Passport Cover.

Tusk Siam Passport Cover

This elegant goatskin passport cover comes in 11 zippy color combos, and it won’t fade or scuff, even after years of traveling.

A bright passport cover will make it easy for your traveling pal to quickly locate their passport in a bag at the airport (or at home, when it’s shoved in the back of a drawer). Supervising editor Hannah Morrill loves the Tusk Siam Passport Cover , which is made from supple goatskin leather and comes in nine cheery color combinations. (Some other versions we’ve tried have a translucent pouch; in theory, this sounds ideal for flashing the relevant page at customs, but in practice, the cover ends up smudgy and embedded with crumbs.) Hannah reports that even after years of use, the slim folio looks clean and crisp. Plus, there are two inner card slots, which are excellent for stashing any stray forms you’re asked to hang onto at the airport or on the plane.

We love finding gifts that are unusual, thoughtful, and well vetted. See even more gift ideas we recommend .

ENO, Eagles Nest Outfitters DoubleNest Lightweight Camping Hammock, 1 to 2 Person, Aqua/Red

I travel with a hammock. And to be honest, I’ve lugged it around to many places and have only used it a handful of times (ok maybe “lugged” is a strong word, it’s not that big).

However, each one of those “hammock days” was UNFORGETTABLE.

There’s nothing like stumbling on an empty pristine beach, finding the perfect palm trees to hang your hammock, and swinging away the afternoon.

I recommend the ENO Doublenest Hammock. It’s ridiculously sturdy, is easy to set up, and can fit two people (but is also comfortable with one).

XL Hammock Straps - Hammock Tree Straps Set Versatile 2000+ LBS Heavy Duty 40 Loops & 100% No Stretch Suspension System Kit - Camping Hammock Accessories | 2 Carabiners

Here’s a great additional gift for travelers who already have a hammock.

These special MalloMe hammock suspension straps make setting up a hammock a gajillion times easier.

No more monkeying around with ropes, trying to learn complicated knots, or wondering if your hammock will crash to the ground the second you sit in it.

Best of all, these straps can support up to 400 pounds—perfect for couples who want to snuggle together.

Scratch The World ® Travel Map - Scratch Off World Map Poster - X-Large 23 x 33 - Maps International - 50 Years of Map Making - Cartographic Detail Featuring Country & State Borders

This giant poster map won’t fit in their luggage, but it will be an inspirational piece of wall art for your travel couple to hang in their homes.

Every time they visit a new country, they can scratch off the gold foil covering that destination to reveal a colorful map underneath.

Whenever they see the map hanging on the wall, they’ll (1) remember the amazing adventures they’ve had, and (2) remember how many places they still have to explore.

TRX GO Suspension Trainer System, Full-Body Workout for All Levels & Goals, Lightweight & Portable, Fast, Fun & Effective Workouts, Home Gym Equipment or for Outdoor Workouts, Grey

It’s hard to for couples (or anyone) to stay fit on the road.

Depending on the type of traveler, people usually either get chunky, or they turn into bean poles.

This lightweight Travel TRX Exercise Kit is basically a portable gym, and will help your traveling couple stay fit and sexy for each other.

Tinggly gift travel experience

Meaningful travel experiences are becoming more important for couples who travel.

Many travel companies like TripAdvisor and Airbnb recognize this trend and are offering travel experiences.

One incredible travel gift for couples is a Tinggly gift card . This is my #1 recommended gift!

Tinggly is a gift company that curates the world’s best travel experiences. I love their slogan “Give stories, not stuff.”

Hubby and I on a Motorbike Food Tour in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

There are 3 ways to gift these travel experiences.

→    #1- You can gift a specific experience based on a destination like an exciting Food Tour by Motorbike in the streets of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (see our pic above).

→     #2- Alternatively, you can gift an experience collection based on a theme like Just Married or Fun Together that offers the recipient hundreds of experiences to choose from around the world.

Your gift can be sent as an e-Voucher or a physical Tinggly gift box.

→     #3- If you don’t want to gift a specific experience, you can also purchase a gift card .

When you gift these travel experiences, the prepaid voucher has no expiration date , and there’s free exchange if the recipient couple wants to pick a different experience.

Super cool gift!

Biking and listening to music with my Bose Micro Bluetooth Speaker

The Bose Micro Bluetooth Speaker is our new favorite toy. I initially purchased it for our incredible trip to the Maldives last year. We booked an overwater villa at the Outrigger Maldives Maafushivaru when they had a promo of 40% off room rates (I love amazing deals!).

We enjoyed many happy hours on our outdoor deck looking out at the turquoise water while listening to the crystal-clear music coming from our pint-sized speaker.

This little music maker is small but mighty! Its powerful battery gives you up to 6 hours of listening time. Oh, and it’s waterproof!

I have also found other use cases for it when we travel like biking and hiking. It has a handy strap that you can attach to a bike (see my pic above), which is surprisingly sturdy.  We enjoyed using it on a recent trip cycling through the vineyards in Burgundy, France .

I’m amazed the speaker does not fall off, and I have tested it over small bumps and gravel roads.

You can also attach it to your hiking bag to keep those bears away. 🙂 Just sync it to your phone in the Bose Connect app, and you’re ready to go!

Flytographer website

Another super cool travel gift idea for couples is a Flytographer gift card .

The recipient couple can pick a photographer at their selected destination and send a request to the local photographer of their choice for available dates.

There are many destinations to choose from Paris to Tokyo to Tahiti. Flytographer has you covered.

You can view the photographer’s portfolio to ensure that their artistic style aligns with your preferences. Photo packages range from $285 (30 minutes) up to $650 (2 hours). Get your photos within 5 business days.

Our best attempt at a selfie photo in Paris

Or you can get amazing shots like this couple with a professional photographer to capture your travel experience together

Sometimes you get tired of always taking selfies when on travel, which may or may not turn out.

Case in point. See our selfie photo above on the left. This moment was captured after we climbed a million steps at the  Arc de Triomphe to try to take a photo without me eating my hair from the wind and showing all the sweat beads on my forehead.

Let the experts help to capture a shared travel experience in a beautiful way.

Going Membership

Formerly known as Scott’s Cheap Flights, savvy travelers in the know use a Going membership to land incredible deals on domestic and international flights from their home airport.

There are two membership options:

→     $49/year for Premium (economy flights)

→     $199/year for Elite (economy, premium economy, business class, and first class flights).

These memberships also include mistake or error fares, where an airline accidentally sells a flight for way less than they intended. Think like a $63 roundtrip airfare to Chile! It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s certainly a deal of a lifetime.

The Elite membership also informs you of any amazing flight deals you can purchase with points and miles.

If you love to travel, it’s really important to stick to one airline and its alliances to accumulate miles, which can be used as currency to purchase flights.

Our business class flight deal with American Airlines points took us to …

this amazing overwater villa at the Outrigger Maldives Maafushivaru

We accumulate miles with American Airlines.

When my husband and I were notified of an incredible points and miles deal with American Airlines, we jumped on it!

For 70K AAdvantage miles one way, we were able to fly business class to the Maldives around the Christmas holiday for FREE (well almost free, we had to pay $118 pp for the taxes/fees).

But that’s a saving of close to $6,000 pp!

Going offers gift cards that can be used for these memberships to score flight deals like this.

Watching Gabriela Cámara on Masterclass

Problem: Flying can be quite boring, especially on long-haul flights.

Solution: One great way to pass the time is by watching great content. Welcome to Masterclass .

Next on my best travel gifts for couples is an annual membership to one of the best educational but engaging classes on a diverse range of content including the arts, entrepreneurship, business strategy, personal care, fitness, music, and wellness.

And that’s just a sampling. There are many more categories included.

Your “teachers” are not just your average Joes.

They are the world’s best in their field, and new content is constantly being added.

Think big names like Richard Branson (business), Diane von Furstenberg (fashion), Thomas Keller (food), James Suckling (wine), Usher (music), Serena Williams (sports), and Judy Bloom (writing).

There are three membership plans:

→     Individual (1 account, 1 device)

→     Duo (1 account, 2 devices)

→     Family (1 account, 6 devices)

The big difference between the Individual and the Duo/Family is you can download content for offline viewing (like on the plane!) with the Duo/Family account.

I strongly recommend the Duo membership for that reason.

For example, when we were getting ready to go to Mexico City for the first time to eat all the tacos, we downloaded Gabriela Cámara’s classes on Mexican cooking to watch on the plane. She is the Chef at the highly regarded restaurant, Contramar , in Mexico City.

Great way to learn and pass the time when on travel.

How my husband and I planned a trip to Mexico City together using Wanderlog

We have only recently discovered this amazing trip planner called Wanderlog .

It’s really intuitive to use and will have you planning your next trip in no time,

Ok, so how does it work?

I’ll share how my husband and I planned a trip to Mexico City together.

Once we typed in our destination, Wanderlog showed us all the top attractions, restaurants, cafes, etc. They also include their featured guides to give you some trip inspiration.

We entered our trip dates and clicked on the Start Planning button.

There is a big Share button at the top, so you and your partner can plan the trip together at the same time.

Now the fun part! We started adding in all of our daily activities and notes that populated on a map. You can select your icons and different colors to differentiate each day.

Wanderlog will even optimize your route to let you know the best route to follow for your points of interest.

No internet? No worries. Wanderlog allows you to download your map and itinerary offline.

This is the best trip planner for the couple that loves travel!

My personal Bose QuietComfort 20i Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones

We have tried quite a few headphones, but my favorite by far is our Bose QuietComfort 20i Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones .

Besides the stellar audio performance, the noise reduction is incredible.

My husband and I will download a bunch of videos and TV series before boarding a flight. Having a good pair of headphones that block out all that fuzzy background airplane noise is imperative to an enjoyable viewing experience to pass those hours.

In addition, the soft squishy silicone earbuds are incredibly comfortable and stay put. And this is coming from someone who has weird ears that most earbuds fall out!

Great travel gift for couples!

My personal GoPro Hero

As a couple who loves to travel, I can tell you a GoPro is a fabulous gift for those who crave adventure.

My husband and I love getting outdoors to hike, bike, and snorkel . I take our GoPro to record all of our outdoor excursions to share with loved ones later.

Some say “If it’s not on video it didn’t happen,” lol.

Did we really see a great white shark while cage diving in South Africa? Yep, got it on video.

Did we really snorkel with too many octopuses to count in the Maldives? Yep, got that on video too.

All because of the GoPro. Easy to use and has attachments for any outdoor sport.

Aeropress Go Travel Coffee Press Kit

If the special couple you are buying for are coffee enthusiasts, then they are going to love the Aeropress !

Where has this been all of my life?

The Aeropress won’t let you settle for bad coffee when you travel. Forget the crappy coffee from the hotel or the Airbnb cabin up in the mountains.

Weighing in at only 10 ounces, this coffee press kit makes an incredibly smooth quick cup of coffee.

Add water to your medium-fine ground coffee, brew for 10-30 seconds, then press for the perfect cup! Drink as is or add some milk for a latte.

It’s pretty amazing this premium coffee quality comes out of this little portable device.

SIMO Solis Lite 4G LTE Portable WiFi Mobile Hotspot

Staying connected is your lifeline when you travel.

We are constantly using our phones when we travel for navigation, picking out top restaurants, language translations, and email.

It can get quite expensive if you use your cellphone carrier’s international data plans.

A more affordable way to stay connected at all times is either getting a local eSIM card or purchasing a portable WiFi Mobile Hotspot.

One of the best portable WiFi devices on the market is the SIMO Solis Lite 4G LTE Portable WiFi Mobile Hotspot with Lifetime Data.

You have a lot of choices- daily, monthly, or specific GB packages depending on your usage. This hotspot router can tap into multiple cellular carriers to find you the fastest signal. It works in over 135 countries and has a battery life of up to 16 hours!

Plus, you can connect multiple devices, so it’s great to share as a couple. This small device also serves as a charging station if you need to power up your phone.

My personal luggage with Eagle Creek packing cubes

If you don’t have packing cubes, you don’t know what you are missing.

Both my husband and I have these Eagle Creek packing cubes , which makes packing a breeze.

We have different sizes: one for shirts, one for pants, two for shoes, and one for undergarments. I always roll my shirts before I throw them into the cubes, which allows for more room and fewer wrinkles. Throw some dryer sheets in to make it smell good.

I have had the Eagle Creek packing cubes for several years, and no rips yet! The material is made of super tough, lightweight silnylon material. There’s also a compression zipper to squish it down further.

The cubes are also machine washable to always keep them clean and fresh.

Great gift for that couple that loves staying organized.

My personal LectroFan Micro2 Bluetooth Speaker + White Noise Machine

This one may sound a little weird, but trust me it’s amazing!

When you are traveling, it’s hard sometimes to fall asleep when you are in different environments, especially cities.

When we were in New York City recently, our hotel room faced the street. This meant constant car noise. The LectroFan Micro2 White Noise Machine was my lifesaver!

There are several sounds to choose from, and you can adjust the volume.

It also serves as a Bluetooth speaker that you can sync to your phone to play your favorite music.

Apple AirTag

This next travel gift for couples is a no-brainer. For less than $30 , you can have peace of mind knowing where your luggage is at all times.

Seasoned travelers will probably grimace when I say we always check our bags. Sorry, I bring a lot of sunscreen and skincare products, which require a checked bag.

Knock on wood, my luggage has never been lost.

But now that we carry Apple AirTags in our luggage, we can be reassured our personal items are close by.

It requires a simple one-tap setup that instantly syncs your AirTag to your iPhone (not Android).

The CR2032 battery lasts over a year and is replaceable.

What it looks like on your iPhone when you view the Apple AirTag’s location

Once connected, you can see where your luggage is at all times. Go to the app Find My iPhone, and click on “Items” in the tab at the bottom. It shows you the location of the Apple AirTag. See pic above.

We have only used it for our luggage, but you could use it for other personal items like keys, wallet, etc. or anything you want to keep track of. There are AirTag holders to make it easier to attach to your personal belongings.

I would advise the 4-pack for a couple. One in each luggage, and one in each carry-on personal item.

AllTrails Subscription

Travel couples who love being outdoors will love AllTrails !

We discovered this app several years ago after we got lost trying to find the trailhead to the Great Channels hike in Virginia . If I had the AllTrails app before we hiked, I would have never gotten lost.

Now, we download all of our trails offline in the app prior to our hike. Then even if we lose cell reception, we always know if we are going the right way.

This clever app even tells you if you go off-trail by accident by vibrating your phone (which has happened to us more than once!).

We have now it all over the world including a recent trip hiking in Chamonix, France and the Algarve Coast in Portugal . We have even used it cycling through Burgundy.

With over 400K+ trails, there are many options to choose from on your next outdoor adventure.

Best $35.99 ever!

My psersonal Anker portable power banks

It’s going to happen.

You are strolling the streets of Paris for hours with your partner using your phones to navigate and take photos, and all of a sudden you see the dreaded red low battery sign.

Another great travel gift idea for your favorite couple is a portable charger. This device has saved us more than once from being without our lifeline.

It’s thin and light enough to carry in a small crossbody purse.

There are several different sizes. I have both the “lipstick” size and the small “pack of cards” size . Both are great, and Anker is a very reputable brand with stellar reviews.

Phone tripod with wireless remote

You can always take a selfie, but for quality photos of the two of you, you need a Tripod.

I love the Ubeesize Phone Tripod . It has flexible, anti-slip arms if you need to wrap it around a fence or a pole for your perfect photo.

It has an easy-to-use wireless remote to snap a photo of the two of you with a click of a button.

Audible gift membership

One fantastic way to learn about a country you visit is to listen to a book.

My husband and I have an Audible membership . Before a trip, we’ll download some recommended books on the countries we visit to enjoy on the plane.

For example, before our Burgundy and Champagne wine tours , we listened to Wine and War: The French, the Nazis, and the Battle for France’s Greatest Treasure .

It’s a fun way to learn and gives you a different perspective and appreciation for the places you visit.

Standart gift card

A great travel gift idea for the foodie couple is a coffee subscription.

Let me introduce you to Standart .

This independent print magazine is committed to celebrating the culture of specialty coffee from around the world. It has won numerous awards and is highly regarded by coffee enthusiasts.

An annual subscription includes 4 magazine issues + new coffee from around the world with every issue.

When we travel, we seek out some of the best cafes. Some of our favorites include Truth Coffee from Cape Town, South Africa ( #7 on our best things to do in Cape Town ) and Eliscaffe from Zagreb, Croatia ( #2 on our best things to do in Zagreb ).

A coffee subscription is a great travel gift to get your couple inspired for their next trip. I think a trip to a coffee farm in Colombia may be in our future.

Wine sleeves

If you are buying for a couple that are wine lovers, wine sleeves make a great gift.

My husband and I are not wine experts, but we are wine travelers and have been to some incredible wine regions around the world.

When you want to take back a few bottles to enjoy later together and remember a fantastic vacation, wine sleeves are your best friend.

We have tried wrapping bottles of wine with our clothes, but wine sleeves make it so much easier. No spills yet!

Plus, you can use them for distilled spirits. We are getting ready to go to Oaxaca, Mexico  and will be using them to take a few bottles of Mezcal home that we can’t get in the U.S.

One Amazon reviewer says it’s “like a diaper for your booze.” Great way to describe it.

It’s not only good for alcohol, but you can store any bottled travel souvenir in it.

For example, Slovenia is known for its incredible pumpkin seed oil ( #10 on my best Slovenian foods to try ). If you haven’t tasted it, it’s amazing as a dip for some fresh sourdough bread! We brought some back in our multi-purpose wine sleeves.

Lots of uses for these sleeves!

Revlon 1875W Compact Folding Handle Hair Dryer

Alright, I know what you are thinking.

How is this a great travel gift for a couple? Hear me out.

Any partner that has to wait for their loved one to finish drying their hair knows how important it is to have a powerful hair dryer to get the job done quick.

Most hotels will have a hair dryer, but that’s not always the case when you stay at an Airbnb. Plus, even if they have a hair dryer, it’s usually a subpar one.

Besides powerful performance and good heat settings, you also want to make sure the travel hair dryer has DUAL VOLTAGE. This means you can use it anywhere in the world because you can switch the voltage from 250V to 125V.

My favorite travel dryer is the Revlon 1875W Compact Folding Handle Hair Dryer . It’s small but mighty, and this little powerhouse comes at a great price.

I dare to say it’s even more powerful than my GHD professional hair dryer.

Your partner will thank you because you will be out of the bathroom in no time, which means more time for exploring!

NordVPN subscription

This next gift on my list is one of the more unique ideas … a VPN subscription.

This gift idea is for the travel couple who has EVERYTHING travel-related already.

When you travel, your Wifi connection is not always secure. A VPN protects your private information from a sketchy third party by encrypting your data.

The NordVPN hides your IP address and location, and there’s no bandwidth limit. Use it on up to 6 devices.

You can pick among thousands of VPN servers.

Why is this important? Streaming!!!

You cannot always watch your favorite streaming service in a different country. They call it geo-blocking.

5,000+ NordVPN servers

But if you have a VPN subscription you can change your server location to watch your favorite series from your streaming service. All streaming services behave a little differently though.

Tom’s Guide offers an excellent explanation of how to use VPN specifically for streaming . For example, Amazon Prime only shows you content from the country you signed up in (unless you change your server with your VPN subscription).

There are two ways to gift the NordVPN:

1. Purchase the subscription on the NordVPN’s website OR

Headphone splitter

This might be the most affordable, practical travel gift for couples on my ultimate gift guide!

When we travel, my husband and I view our downloaded shows together on the airplane. You could use one earbud each. or you can get a handy headphone splitter .

Plug both of your headphones into the headphone splitter, which then connects to your iPad, smartphone, or laptop.

Now both of you can watch your favorite show together!

I hope this travel gift guide offers you insight into selecting thoughtful gifts for that special couple. From practical items to unforgettable travel experiences, there’s a little something for everyone at every price point.

Happy giving!

Do you know a couple that loves to travel? If so, have you ever thought about getting them travel gifts that are specifically designed for couples? Not only will the gift remind them of all of their travel adventures, but it will also help bring them closer together as a couple.

I feel as though I have been enjoying the act of giving gifts more and more in the past few years, whether that be for birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, or just a random time when I find something perfect for someone I care about. However, that does not always mean that finding a great gift is easy. It can sometimes take me hours or even days to find a gift that I feel will be useful as well as appreciated by the recipient.

A. To Create and Capture Memories

First and foremost, this category includes a few travel gifts that will inspire adventure and the creation of unforgettable memories for couples. Sometimes you can easily plan a trip such as a weekend getaway, but other times you need a little bit of help to get inspired. Moreover, this category includes a few travel gifts that will help couples memorialize their adventures so that they can look back on them for years and years to come. For the traveling couple in your life that needs some inspiration or a way to remember their adventures, check out the gifts below.

1) Travel Cards – Travel Gifts for Couples

Link to product: Anywhere Travel Guide: 75 Cards or Etsy Travel Cards

Traveling is usually full of new and exciting experiences. However, you can still spice things up every once in a while with a set of travel cards. The cards include all kinds of different prompts to help you explore and engage with your new (or even old) surroundings. For example, a card might tell you to find a secret spot. You then have to ask locals for a recommendation on their favorite “secret spot” that tourists normally miss but is truly a hidden gem. Another example is that a card might tell you to eat breakfast for dessert and three appetizers for lunch. How fun (and delicious) is that?!  You can choose to complete one card per day or even multiple cards within the course of one day.

2) The Adventure Challenge Travel Edition

Link to product: The Adventure Challenge Travel Edition

If you have not heard of the Adventure Challenge before, then I am happy to be the one to introduce you to it. They have books with themes tailored to dates, to families, to kids, to dinner…and of course to travel. Nevertheless, the books all follow the same standard format. Each page includes a scratch off challenge that you have to complete . Additionally, there is some general information provided about each challenge before you scratch it off. For example, you will know the general cost, time needed, time of day in which you need to complete the challenge, and more. You can thus choose a challenge that is appropriate for the time and effort you are willing to commit.

One example of a scratch off challenge in the travel edition book is that you have to keep little mementos of your day. For example, buy a souvenir, pick up a leaf on your walk through the park, etc. Then store these items away (with little notes attached to them) in a memory box so that you can look back on them years into the future.

3) Adventure Photo Album

Link to product: Adventure Photo Album

After you buy and use one (or both) of the above products, then you will need somewhere where you can store all of the pictures you took to capture the memories. Otherwise, you can fill this photo album with pictures from your latest and greatest vacation . Maybe you just spent a couple of days exploring Glacier National Park or an entire week road tripping around Iceland . The album has a total of 40 self-adhesive pages. Therefore, you can truly pack it full with all of your best photos.

4) Adventure Scrapbook

Link to product: Our Adventure Book Scrapbook

For those of you who like arts and crafts or adding your own twist to photo albums, then take a look at this scrapbook. Not only does it have an adorable exterior, but it includes 80 pages where you can insert photos, tickets, notes, stickers, and so much more. What is even better is that the scrapbook comes as a set. You receive the scrapbook as well as pens, stickers, and self-adhesive photo corners. A scrapbook is one of the best travel gifts for couples because they can even turn scrapbooking into a date night activity as they relive all of the memories they made during their recent adventures.

B. Home Decor

It can sometimes be difficult to gift home decor, for individuals as well as couples have their own style preferences. Home decor styles range from minimalistic to bohemian to mid-century modern to rustic and so on. However, it actually seems to be a bit easier to find gifts for couples that love to travel because there are so many home decor items centered around travel. No matter their preferred style, you are sure to find something they will love. If you are still uneasy about gifting home decor, then you can send them a couple of ideas and ask them to choose one. That way they will still be slightly surprised when they go to open the gift.

5) Shadow Box – Travel Gifts for Couples

Link to product: Etsy Personalized Travel Shadow Box or Califortree Shadow Box Frame

Most of the time we come home from travel with a few souvenirs that we then throw into some box or drawer and do not see again for another couple of years. Until one day we open said box or drawer and are pleasantly surprised to see the souvenirs and relive the memories. Well, what if we could skip just about all of that and instead display our souvenirs so that we can relive the memories every single day. Sounds perfect, right?

Let me introduce you to a shadow box. A shadow box is essentially a box with one clear side so that you can see the contents within. The box fits tickets, photos, flowers, medals, keychains, and so much more. You can put any little trinket or memorabilia you collected while traveling inside the box. Then simply close the box, place it somewhere in your apartment or house, and let the memories flourish.

6) Coin Display

Link to product: Ebrima Gold Glass Frame for Coin Display or Etsy Personalized Coin Holder Wall Decor

Raise your hand if you have ever purposefully not spent all of your coins within a new country because you wanted to take them home with you. Then when you get home, you put the coins in a box you have designated to be your “coin box”. You only ever look at this coin box when you add new coins to it. The poor coins, they deserve some more love.

Why not display them on the wall with a display case? The coin display case has just enough room for you to insert coins without having them cover or stack up on one another.  Not only will you create a unique piece of wall art, but you will also be creating a conversation starter. Family, friends, and visitors will look into the display case and marvel at all of the different types of coins, asking where they are from and for stories connected to them.

7) Customizable Collage – Travel Gifts for Couples

Link to product: Customizable Adventure Photo Collage

I  love  to take pictures while traveling. Pictures help me encapsulate the moment as well as my surroundings. However, sometimes I post the pictures on social media and then forget all about them. This is where the customizable collage comes in. It includes frames for eight separate pictures as well as a letter board in the middle where you can write out different words and/or phrases. Instead of forgetting about my travel pictures, I can hang them up on my wall and admire them daily. Moreover, it can allow me to remember where my partner and I have been. From chasing waterfalls in Iceland to hiking epic trails in Glacier to fearing for my life on Angels Landing and so much more.

8) National Park Scratch Off Poster

Link to product: National Park Bucket List Scratch Off

My partner and I have visited many national parks together from Acadia National Park in Maine to Glacier National Park in Montana to Zion National Park in Utah. Nevertheless, we still have many more to visit in the years to come. One of the best ways for couples to keep track of their national park adventures is to scratch off national parks once they have visited them on this poster bucket list . That way they can easily see all of the national parks they have already been to vs. all of the national parks they still need to make plans to visit. One of the national parks near the top of our wishlist is Katmai National Park in Alaska.

9) Personalized Poster of a Travel Couple

Link to product: Etsy Poster – Photo Outline of Couple Traveling or Etsy Poster – Picture of Couple Traveling

These personalized posters are ADORABLE. While my partner and I do not currently own one, we would be happy to receive one as a gift. I linked two different versions above because I could not choose just one. Moreover, you can then decide which style is a better choice, whether you are giving the poster as a gift to your partner or as a gift to a travel couple. The first one shows two people looking at a map of the world. You are able to customize the people in terms of skin color, hair, clothes, etc. Moreover, you can customize the names at the bottom of the poster. The second one shows a couple created by a collage of photos. You can choose the photos to include on the poster. Additionally, you can customize the saying at the bottom.

10) Custom Travel Ornament

Link to product: Etsy Custom Travel Sign Post Ornament or UniqXmas Personalized Travel Christmas Ornament

Happy holidays…happy holidays…while the merry bells keep ringing… Are you in search of gifts for couples that love to travel this holiday season? Even if it is not the holiday season, it is never too early to start shopping for next year! While people most often think of ornaments as Christmas tree decorations, they can be utilized in multiple other ways as well. For example, you can hang them on a wall or on a key rack. There are two different product links above as I just found there were too many great customizable ornament options. You can choose an ornament that has a pole with signs pointing to various destinations, a suitcase with names and destinations, a cruise ship with names and dates, and more!

C. Maps – Travel Gifts for Couples

I’m the map, I’m the map, I’m the map, I’m the map – anyone watch Dora? Anyways, maps are one of the most classic as well as tried-and-true travel gifts, including for couples. For example, my partner had multiple maps as well as a globe in his childhood bedroom. For one of the maps, he would use push pins to signify where he has traveled as well as where he wants to travel. Nevertheless, maps are not just for kids. They are a great way for couples to show where they have traveled together as well as where they hope to travel in the future.

11) Personalized USA Photo Map

Link to product: Personalized USA Photo Map

I had to list this product first because it is one of my  favorite  options within the map category of gifts for travel couples. This is not just any map, however. Instead, this map allows you to insert pictures in the place of every state to show your adventures there. You might be thinking – but how in the world do I size my pictures appropriate for a state such as Florida? Not to worry, for they offer a free online tool where you can resize your pictures to perfectly fit within the outline of each state. You can then print your picture at home or for easy pickup at a store such as Walgreens. For Florida, I would probably include a picture of me wrestling an alligator at Myakka River State Park . (Just kidding).

12) Printed Custom Map – Travel Gifts for Couples

Link to product: Etsy Custom Couples Travel Map

Do not skip over this map, for it is so incredibly cute and unique. You might even end up buying one for yourself in addition to buying one as a gift for someone else. You can customize just about every single part of the product. For example, you can edit the phrase at the top, the names at the top and the bottom, the date on the bottom, and of course the locations. The locations are not just listed out on this map, but instead they are included as mountains with maps inserted in them.

I know, that probably was not the best description, but sometimes the most unique things are hard to describe. Let me try again – the locations are all grouped together like a mountain range , with each separate location having their own mountain peak. Each locations’ mountain peak then has a map inside of it for that location. You can select anywhere from one to 25 locations – that is a lot!

13) Push Pin World Map

Link to product: Push Pin World Map

I know I mentioned my partner had a push pin map in his childhood bedroom – but these maps are not just for kids. They are perfect for kids, traveling couples, families, etc. What better way is there to show your travel around the  entire world  than by sticking pins in the locations on a map displayed for all to see? The map can be a great conversation starter for when families, friends, or other guests come over to visit. They might take a glance at your map and see that they have also traveled to some of the locations as you. You can then compare stories for hours on end. On the other hand, they might see that you have traveled to their dream destination. You can then offer them all of your best tips and recommendations.

Are you heading on an international trip soon and worried about what to pack? Then check out this list of 25+ International Travel Essentials .

14) Personalized Scratch Off Map

Link to product: Etsy Personalized Scratch Off Map

Okay, I know I said the first map listed above was one of my favorites, but it turns out just about every map listed in this category is one of my favorites. Do not blame me, they are just all too unique! The scratch off map is exactly what you think it is – a map that you scratch off. The world map starts off completely gray. However, as you scratch off different countries around the world, beautiful pictures come to light. If you need motivation to travel more, then here it is! Travel more so that you can scratch off more places on your new personalized scratch off map of the world.

15) Push Pin Globe – Travel Gifts for Couples

Link to product: Push Pin Ivory Globe

Maybe you, your partner, or the recipient of your gift are not a fan of maps. That is totally okay! I included this push pin globe for that exact reason. It functions the same way as the push pin map mentioned above, but it is instead a globe. Want to hear something amazing? The globe includes push pins of multiple colors as well as string and flags. You can thus chart different travel routes you have taken with the string. Moreover, you can pin flags on the globe and even write on them to distinguish their importance. For example, maybe you went to North Cascades National Park outside of Seattle for an anniversary? Then write an anniversary on a flag and pin it in the park!

D. Travel Accessories

What better gifts are there for couples that love to travel other than travel accessories? You know they will have the chance to use them simply because they travel so much. There are  millions (that might be an exaggeration, but maybe not) of travel accessories on the market. However, I worked hard to find travel accessories specifically designed for couples.

If you are looking for more general lists of travel accessories, check out Travel Essentials for Women and Travel Accessories for Men .

16) Matching Luggage Tags

Link to product: Pair of Matching Luggage Tags

matching luggage tags for travel couples

17) Matching Passport Holders

Link to product: Personalized Couple Passport Holders

Continuing the theme of matching travel accessories as gifts for traveling couples…a set of matching passport holders. Do not worry, the rest of the items on the list are not all matching . First off, let me say that I own a passport holder, and I love it. It holds not only a passport, but also credit cards, vaccination cards, and other similar cards. Trust me, traveling becomes a lot easier once you no longer have to search through your backpack to find your passport or your credit card. Instead, everything is stored all in the same place.

18) Flexible Mini Tripod – Travel Gifts for Couples

Link to product: Flexible Mini Tripod for Camera or Phone

My partner and I have taken so many  selfies at places all around the United States and all around the world. For example, we have taken selfies at waterfalls in Iceland as well as at waterfalls in Maine . However, we did bring a tripod with us for a portion of our one-year road trip around the US. It definitely came in handy when we were exploring the Bonneville Salt Flats at sunrise . We were able to capture pictures of us running towards the sun together in the middle of the salt flats. Those are pictures worth framing. The mini tripod is small enough to tuck away within your backpack or suitcase. Furthermore, the tripod is flexible, which means you can set it on the ground, hang it from a tree, or brace it against a rock.

19) Packing Cubes

Link to product: Multi-Colored Packing Cubes

If your partner or a couple you know loves organization (or maybe really needs organization in their life/travel), then packing cubes are one of the best gifts. Not only do they help with organization in suitcases, but they also help out in terms of space management. You can generally fit even more items in your suitcase with packing cubes than without packing cubes. The set of packing cubes linked above includes two different colors of four packing cubes each. Each person in a couple can thus claim their own color. They then do not have to worry about their partner stealing their packing cube or taking up more than half of their suitcase. Once you travel with packing cubes, you will never be able to travel without them.

Moreover, are you trying to become a minimalist traveler? Then learn how to travel like a minimalist with only a backpack .

E. Camping Items – Travel Gifts for Couples

What is more romantic than a night under the stars? Just make sure you have the correct camping gear, otherwise the night might turn out more miserable than romantic. Whether you have camped hundreds of times before or have never camped a night in your life, the camping items listed below are the perfect way to start out. For the travel couples reading this, you can buy the following items as gifts for your partner and then surprise them with a camping weekend. For friends of travel couples reading this, you can still buy the following items as gifts for the couple and then surprise them both with a camping weekend that you have already paid for. Best anniversary gift ever!

20) Pop-Up Camping Tent

Link to product: Amflip Pop-Up Camping Tent

My partner and I bought this tent (as well as the following two items) before our week-long camping trip in the Grand Teton, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Parks . We only have positive things to say about the tent. First, it is incredibly easy to set up. Neither of us had ever set up a tent before, but we set this tent up within five minutes. The tent literally pops up (hence the name), so you do not have to fight with tent poles.

Second, it is pretty weatherproof. It rained (and when I say rained, I mean it poured) for multiple days when we were in Grand Teton and Yellowstone. The water never came through the top of our tent. Some water did seep through the bottom, but we were on a sleeping pad so we never felt it. Third, it has plenty of room for two people. We were able to fit our sleeping pad in the tent and still had some extra room to put our shoes and other items on the side.

21) Sleeping Pad – Travel Gifts for Couples

Link to product: Elegear Double Sleeping Pad

Next up on the list of travel gifts for couples (that love to camp) is a sleeping pad. The specific sleeping pad linked above is a double, which means it has enough space for two people to sleep comfortably. Moreover, the top of the sleeping pad is a bit taller in order to act as a pillow. However, our absolute favorite thing about the sleeping pad is that it has a foot pump. We did not have to (nor did we want to) buy a pump and then carry it around as we traveled around the national parks. Instead, we could easily pump up the sleeping pad by stepping on it repeatedly with our foot.

If you are unsure about why you need a sleeping pad, just think of it this way – without a sleeping pad you are essentially sleeping on the ground. The bottom of the tent does not offer much cushion. Your body will be feeling that by the morning. Therefore, pack a sleeping pad so that you can get a good night’s rest and your body will not be complaining. Then you can go on to complete hikes such as St. Mary and Virginia Falls in Glacier (and maybe even spot some moose) with ease.

22) Double Sleeping Bag

Link to product: Sleepingo Double Sleeping Bag

The sleeping pad mentioned above is not enough to keep you comfy and cozy throughout the night. You also need to make sure you pack a sleeping bag. My partner and I would have been  miserable  without this sleeping bag linked above on our camping trip through the national parks. It actually got a lot colder at night than we were expecting, so we bundled up and huddled together. One of the best things about this sleeping bag is that it is multifunctional. You can use it as a double if you and your partner want to share. On the other hand, you can split it apart and have two separate sleeping bags if you prefer.

23) Double Hammock

Link to product: Wise Owl Double Hammock

What is better than a single hammock? A double hammock! It is true that sometimes you want some space from your partner, but not all the time. For example, maybe it is slightly chilly outside and you need to cuddle together for warmth. On the other hand, maybe you just want to remain close to one another as you read separate books. Simply wrap the straps around the tree, clip the carabiner in, and you are all set to hammock the night away. Then once you are done, you can wrap up the hammock and store it away in the compact bag provided.

F. Miscellaneous – Travel Gifts for Couples

Now onto the travel gifts for couples that do not quite fit into any of the categories above. These gifts can include (but are not limited to) travel-sized games, travel-themed games, National Geographic books on romantic destinations, and more. If you have not been swayed to buy any of the above gift ideas for your partner or a couple you know that loves to travel, then just keep reading. I am sure you will be adding at least one of the below ideas to your gift list.

24) Adventure Fund Box

Link to product: Card and Adventure Fund Wood Box

Before memories can be made on adventures, money has to be made to pay for the adventures. (Unless you win a giveaway that includes a free trip. If that is you, then you must tell me how you are that lucky). I know that finding the money to pay for travel can be incredibly difficult, especially if you have a lot of other aspects of your life competing for that same pot of money. Therefore, an adventure fund box is the best way to not only set aside money for travel but also to inspire you to save more.

25) Travel-Sized Game

Link to product: Bananagrams Duel

If you know me, then you know I  love  bananagrams. The normal edition, the party edition – I love all versions of the game. However, I did not even know Bananagrams Duel existed until recently. It comes in a small package and is made for two players. Therefore, it is the perfect travel-sized game for couples. Couples can make playing even more interesting by putting stakes on the games. For example, whoever wins has to buy the other one dinner. On the other hand, a bet could be that whoever wins has to do dishes for the next two nights.

26) Travel Board Game

Link to product: Underdog Games Trekking the National Parks

If you have trekked across many of the U.S. national parks before, then this is the perfect game to relive all of those memories. For example, maybe you have heard the thunder roar at Acadia or hiked the Thunder Creek Trail in North Cascades . If you have not yet trekked across the national parks, then this is the perfect game to inspire you to do so. I will not spoil the whole game for you now. Instead, I am going to make you read all of the directions and figure it out for yourself! However, I will say that some people think there are components of the game that are similar to Catan. If you are a Catan fanatic, then I highly recommend you give this game a chance.

27) Travel Jigsaw Puzzle – Travel Gifts for Couples

Link to product: Traveling the World Jigsaw Puzzle or Personalized Puzzle

Has anyone else ever stayed up until the early hours of the morning to finish a jigsaw puzzle? Just me? Once I start a puzzle, I get so in-the-zone that I do not want to stop. It does not matter if the puzzle has 100 pieces, 500 pieces, or 1,000 pieces. If you buy puzzles as travel gifts for couples (or as gifts for you + your partner), then at least you have someone staying up until the early hours of the morning with you. I have yet to convince my partner to help out on a puzzle. Nevertheless, I shall not give up just yet. For example, he might be more inclined to help out on a puzzle with a travel theme or a puzzle that is personalized.

28) Romantic Destinations Book

travel partner gifts

Are you looking for the perfect coffee table book for your partner or for a couple you know? Well, then do I have the book(s) for you. I am sure you have heard of National Geographic before. But did you know they create books outlining the world’s most romantic destinations as well as ultimate journeys for two people ? *Cue the heart-eyed emojis.* Your only problem after reading these books will be that you will not know where to travel first because all of the destinations seem so amazing.

Travel Gifts That Will Impress

Essential travel gifts under $100, gift ideas for travellers under $25, cheap gifts for travel lovers under $15, unique travel gifts for men, travel gifts women will love, luxury travel gifts for travelers, gifts for travellers that can’t travel right now, best gifts for the travel photographer, useful gifts for those that love outdoor adventure, frequently asked questions, travel resources for your next trip, gifts for travel lovers buying guide in 2023.

the wander club is one of the products featured in this gifts for travel lovers guide

I’ve been blogging for almost 9 years now and what goes in mine and my wife’s backpack has changed in some ways but has also stayed the same.

As a serial traveller, I’m always carefully analyzing what makes the cut for trips whether it’s travel gadgets, clothing, backpacks, and comfort items.

This is not going to be your generic “holiday gift guide” list but things that are legit useful and gifts I would actually want.

We’ve shared my travel toolbox in the past and also created a guide on camping gift ideas but here is my list of the best gift ideas for all types of travellers that’ll surely impress. They’re practical, useful, and thoughtful.

What we’ve done is categorize this list into different categories and budgets to help you navigate. Enjoy!

1: Db Ramverk Luggage

db ramverk luggage medium check-in size in parhelion orange

If you’re looking for a gift that’ll really have them go “WOW” when you give it to them, there’s nothing more useful than a quality piece of luggage.

Db is a company founded by Norway and I’ve fallen in love with their gear ever since their the Db Strøm (later renamed to the Hugger Rollerbag) and Ramverk Backpack Pro that I featured in our practical camping gift ideas list .

When they came out with their new line of hard-shell suitcases, I knew I had to give it a try and honestly it’s been life-changing. The one featured above is the Db Ramverk Check-in Luggage Medium in Parhelion Orange . The color is stunning, it’s rugged as heck, the inner organization is so clutch, and it handles like a dream.

If you think someone is in the market to finally get rid of their old luggage and do a proper upgrade, look no further!

The entire Ramverk Luggage line consists of a front-access carry-on ($499 USD), the carry-on ($399 USD), check-in medium ($599 USD), and check-in large ($699 USD). They also ship to Canada with duties and shipping included!

2: The Wander Club

the wander club token and holder keychain as an amazing gift for travelers

Are you or know someone that’s obsessed about travel? This is an ingenious idea to be able to display, keep track, and remember your adventures. A rugged leather keychain holds a ring of stainless-steel tokens that can have anything from countries, cities, states, landmarks, oceans, seas, national parks, or something custom (think special events and dates).

It’s like your world map with pins but in your pocket. You can proudly display it at home or have it hanging on your backpack.

We got one recently and wanted to show you a few more detailed photos of the token holder in Forest green and also the Country Tokens and Gold Custom Tokens . To start things off, I’ve ordered all the countries I’ve visited in the past 3 years and bookmarked by “Going” and “Places” gold tokens – see what I did there?

travel partner gifts

What I love about this is that there’s an endless number of ways to keep your memories together in a compact form-factor. The holder displays a high level of craftsmanship with the hand stitching and painted sides. The leather engraving with silver foil is really sweet and its imprinted with my initials as a monogram as well!.

As a bonus, every order also provides a meal to a child in need as part of the Rice Bowls non-profit .

the wander club coupon code and promo code

I’ve been able to secure a 20% discount for my readers by using code GAPWANDERCLUB . This is a larger discount than what they offer as a e-mail sign up offer so make sure you take advantage! Get your collection started today!

3: Inspirational Travel Books

inspiration travel books by mike and anne howard ultimate journeys for two and comfortably wild

If you’re looking for a great gift idea for that traveler in your life, don’t sleep on a great book that can uplift, inspire, and most importantly, get up and just go !

Fellow travel bloggers and perpetual honeymooners, Mike and Anne Howard from HoneyTrek have two incredible books:

  • Ultimate Journeys for Two
  • Comfortably Wild

These two books are great for newlyweds, couples, and any outdoor/adventure enthusiast!

4: Eagle Creek Packing Cubes

eagle creek pack-it specter cube set best travel gifts for under 0

I’ve owned these pretty much since day 1 of Going Awesome Places and a must-have for all travellers.

As a travel minimalist or OCD about staying organized, this is an amazing way to get into the habit of rolling your clothes and keep them nice and compact. The bags themselves are super durable and weight next to nothing.

You can see that I include this in almost all of my packing lists including my recent one to French Polynesia or even for something local like this cottage packing list .

5: Anker PowerCore Power Bank

anker powercore power bank 10000 mah

This is the Anker Powercore II 10000 mAh that has fast charge. You already know how useful these things can be whether you’re travelling or not.

For me, this has been my go-to power bank because of a couple of things. First, the footprint of this is very small is one few that perfectly fits the Peak Design Tech Pouch. Secondly, 10,000 mAh is an important specification because some airports have started limiting the maximum amount to 10,000 mAh (e.g. China).

There’s currently an updated version of this that provides Power Delivery (PD) and is actually smaller! It’s called the Anker PowerCore 10000 PD Redux .

6: Victorinox Travel Organizer

victorinox travel organizer for passport boarding pass and has rfid protection in black

This is a super handy organizer that I use to hold all of my travel-specific cards, passport, boarding pass, cash, booking confirmation printouts, coins, and a pen. Another added benefit you get from this is that it provides RFID protection.

Victorinox has made a rugged case that belongs in any backpack as part of your carry-on kit. This is especially helpful at the airport or checking into hotels so you don’t need to rummage through your bag to find things. Pull this out and be confident that you’ll have everything you need inside.

7: Peak Design Tech Pouch

peak design tech pouch opened up with gear inside

This is perhaps one of my favourite things in my travel backpack. We all have to bring more and more technology do-hickeys, widgets, and cables. The Tech Pouch keeps it all together.

I have a YouTube review of the Tech Pouch but what you need to know is that it’s the perfect place for your power blocks (laptop and phone), power bank, cables, earbuds, memory cards, business cards, pens, SIM cards, and dongles.

8: Eagle Creek Sac Set

eagle creek sac set gear organizer travel gift

These will look familiar as they’re by Eagle Creek but beyond matching, they’re an incredibly useful way to just organize different gear together.

Using this either in your backpack or suitcase, this allows you to know instantly what’s inside when you pull it out. I personally use this to put all my charging electronics together. I use another to throw in all my socks.

There are a ton of ways to use this and any travel lover would find a place for this in their kit.

9: Fjallraven Hip Pack

fjallraven hip pack large size gift for travellers

Fanny packs are back in style and there’s no slicker one than this one by Fjallraven. This hip pack comes in 3 sizes but the best for use as a companion to a backpack or as a day pack is the Large size.

Not only is this a fashion statement but a waterproof, versatile, and spacious 4 liters of space to stash your things while on the go exploring the city or on hiking trails.

10: Outdoor Research Radar Pocket Cap

outdoor research radar pocket cap

This was a bit of an accidental discovery for me but pretty game changing because hats are by design, unbendable so you have to find space to cram it into your backpack or loop it off of something. With this, I can literally fold it and stash it in my pocket if I need to.

This Outdoor Research cap is unisex, provides 50+ UPF sun protection, is water resistant, and quick-drying, making this the ultimate travel hat.

11: Samsonite Tru-Frame Carry-On Luggage

samsonite tru frame carry on spinner suitcase in navy

I couldn’t go through this whole list and not throw in one piece of carry-on luggage. Samsonite makes some of the best suitcases on the market and one of their latest iterations is a winner.

Built to last, functional, and backed by a 10 year warranty, you can’t go wrong with this as a gift for any traveller. I love that this has two built in TSA-compatible locks, has 4 multi-directional spinner wheels, and comes in a variety of colors including navy which I’m a huge fan of.

12: Original Buff Headwear

travel partner gifts

If you follow our Instagram account or see any of my photos when I travel, you’ll see that I usually have this thing around my wrist, neck, or head. It’s one of my must-have travel items that I pack for every trip.

I have a full review of Buff Headwear but the skinny on this is that it’s a thoughtfully versatile piece of clothing that I use to keep my neck warm or protected from the sun, as a head covering to double as a hat, or to wipe sweat off.

13: Smartwool Hiking Crew Socks

smartwool hiking socks for men as a travel gift

I’ve always found socks to be a really thoughtful kind of gift whether it’s for a traveller or not because of just how useful and impactful it is on daily life.

These hiking socks by Smartwool are the crew style that are made out of 66% merino wool which makes it warm, cushioned, breathable, and built for performance whether you’re going hardcore trekking or need a warm pair for home.

14: Victorinox Swiss Army with Nail Clippers

victorinox swiss army knife with nail clippers for travelers

Gifting nail clippers is a bit weird but in a Swiss Army knife, now that’s not weird at all!

This is a useful multitasking survival tool to have and much smaller than its bigger brothers. For flying, you’ll just need to remember to put this in the check-in luggage.

15: Croakies Arc Sunglasses Strap

travel partner gifts

Not quite the fashion statement but I’ve sworn by Croakies for a long time.

Hear me out. When you’re travelling with quality sunglasses like Maui Jims, the worst is when you have it hanging off your shirt or on your head and you forget and they accidentally fall out.

This completely eliminates that problem and is especially important for photographers because you just can’t shoot with sunglasses on and this allows me to pop my sunglasses on fast.

16: Travel Adapter Power Strip

travel adapter power strip

Normally, I’d recommend the Belkin 3-outlet surge protector but this is a sweet universal power strip that’ll make sure you can charge all the things when you’re travelling.

Any seasoned traveller will tell you that the worst thing about any hotel, hostel or Airbnb is the lack of plugs. One of the first things I do when I unpack is hunt for all of the outlets and start unplugging all the things I won’t use like the kettle and maybe even the TV. With this, you just need one and you’re good to go.

17: Personalized Travel Notebook

travel partner gifts

I simply adore the simple aesthetic of these notebooks that are fully personalized. Drop in your family or friend’s favourite quote, add their initials, and get them started on their journaling adventure.

One thing to note is that this ships from the UK and is in the A5 size which is slightly narrower and taller.

18: Custom Engraved Acrylic Luggage Tags

custom engraved luggage tag gifts

For a unique gift for travel lovers, consider these engraved luggage tags on acrylic plexiglass with a 3mm genuine leather cord.

The design is minimal and discrete and you’re able to work with them to have something custom engraved. You also have the choice of 5 different materials.

19: Customized leather passport cover

travel partner gifts

Etsy is the best place to find custom leather passport covers like this one. The workmanship is superb and the service you get is some of the best I’ve ever experienced.

With 14 different colors of leather and various embossing styles, this will no doubt evoke wanderlust vibes to anyone you gift this to.

20: trtl Pillow

trtl pillow for travel

Everyone has their preferences for neck pillows for when they travel but for something radically different, you should definitely check out trtl Pillow.

The design includes a super soft fleece that wraps around a shoulder-supported frame that is ergonomically correct for the plane or bus.

21: Super International Power Adapter

sublimeware international power adapter and usb hub for travel

I know this thing looks like is overkill but there’s a lot to like about this power adapter. Not only does it work around the world but it does so both ways on the male and female side of things. In addition, what I love the most is that it gives you 4 USB outlets.

This is that all-inclusive power adapter that also acts as a multi USB port hub.

22: Microfibre Travel Towel

microfiber travel towel

Every traveller needs one of these lightweight, portable, and compact towels. From hostels to hotels or the gym, this is another one of those super useful gifts for travellers if they don’t own one already.

This one comes in a number of colors and sizes. I recommend that you go with a small or medium size because any larger means added bulk and weight when you’re on-to-go.

23: Portable Luggage Scale

portable digital luggage scale

Useful tool to have at home or even when travelling when you need to know the weight of your carry-on and check-in suitcase before you head to the airport.

The worst is when you arrive at the airport and realize you’re over the weight limit and embarrassingly need to open everything up to shift things around. Don’t allow your friend to be that guy or gal!

24: Travel Money Belt

travel partner gifts

Love them or hate them, money belts are essential when travelling in certain parts of the world where you need to make sure you keep your essential documents like the passport safe.

Personally, my money belt saved me in one occasion in France when I had my backpack stolen in Paris. Thankfully, I had my money belt on with my passport inside so the blow of the loss wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been.

25: Emergen-C

emergen-c immune support makes a great gift for travel lovers

This isn’t a gift you often think about giving but for travellers, this is one of those things that you always want to have a few of to make sure the immune system is bolstered or if you’re feeling the onset of a sore throat.

Emergen-C comes in small dry packets and can be mixed with hot or cold water.

26: Sea to Summit Travelling Light Hanging Toiletry Bag

travel partner gifts

Toiletry bags or dopp kits are a personal thing as you can imagine but as someone that has tested many over the years , I know a thing or two about them.

If you’re looking to pick up a gift for a traveller that likes to keep things light and minimal, the Sea-to-Summit version is the best I’ve used for how low profile it is, adequate compartments, useful hook, durable Cordura fabric, and is ultra-light.

27: ExOfficio Give-N-Go Boxer Briefs

exofficio give-n-go boxer briefs underwear gift

How close are you with your travel lover? This’ll certainly get you a few chuckles but once they start using it, they’ll realize how amazing of a gift this is.

I swear by these ExOfficio boxer briefs and it’s the only ones I travel with because of how easy they are to wash, how quick they are to dry, and how comfortable they are.

28: Actual money belt

travel security money belt

Instead of the traditional money belt, this is an actual belt with a hidden money pocket. It’s perfect for emergency cash.

This won’t hold your passport but will fit plenty of bills. You will need to tri-fold cash vertically. You can also fit keys, USB keys, and photocopies of important documents such as your passport.

29: Travel pins

going awesome places store shop featured

If you know someone that’s a fan of travel pins, there are so many different unique ones out there, especially on Etsy.

Search through Etsy to find a collection of travel-inspired pins that’s perfect for any travel lover.

30: Peak Design Everyday Totepack

travel partner gifts

This is one of the newer additions to Peak Design’s Everyday line of backpacks. This is a clean look bag that also serves as a tote bag.

Coming in black or bone color, this is the perfect on-the-go everyday and photo carry with side access, plenty of padding, and integrated straps.

31: Infinity Scarf with Hidden Pockets

infininty scarf for women with hidden pockets make a great gift for travel lovers

This is a trendy scarf that comes in 16 different colours and at a reasonable price. What makes this great for women and also men is that there are 2 zippered pockets built in to stow things like smartphones, passport, cards, and keys.

The fabric is eco-friendly, strong, durable, and comfortable with its blend of bamboo, acrylic, and polyester.

32: Drop Dead Gorgeous Dry Shampoo

drop dead gorgeous dry shampoo by handmade heroes

This is an all natural and vegan dry shampoo powder by Handmade Heroes. Dry shampoo is a fantastic addition to any toiletry set because it’s one less liquid you need to pass through security with.

To use dry shampoo, all you have to do is blend it in by massaging the powder into the scalp. On top of being a quick liquid-free shampoo, it also adds volume. Note that there is one for medium to dark hair and another for light to medium hair.

33: Travel Jewelry Foldable Case

travel jewelry foldable case

This a much better way to organize jewelry when travelling than a box because this folds flat and takes up less space.

The mini size in black or soft pink make excellent gifts with its numerous zippered pockets, straps, and earrings panel. Beyond travel, this is a great add-on for business trips and night outs.

34: Peak Design Travel Backpack 45L

peak design travel backpack on tongariro crossing

This is currently my primary backpack for travel and while it doesn’t come cheap especially when you factor in the camera cube you’d need, it does a brilliant job at carrying a ton of camera gear, laptop and everything else you need on the road.

A full review of the Travel Backpack and my field test shows how it can be used.

35: Travelzoo Travel Vouchers

travel partner gifts

While travel has come to a screeching halt, the flip side has been that hotels, resorts, and tour companies have been offering deep discounts. The best place this has been consolidated has been on Travelzoo .

Travelzoo is essentially selling vouchers to places like the Maldives for really cheap and the best part about it is that they’re fully refundable. Make sure you read our latest piece on how Travelzoo works.

36: Victorinox VX Touring 2-in-1

victorinox vx touring 2 in 1 backpack and suitcase

This is another travel bag that I’ve fallen in love with but is a pretty incognito piece of luggage that was released by Victorinox not too long ago.

The VX Touring is a 2-in-1 where you it has backpack straps so you can carry it on your back but it can also act as a carry-on suitcase.

37: Dr. Bronner’s Organic Hand Sanitizer

dr bronners organic hand sanitizer in lavender makes a great travel gift

This usually makes a great hand sanitizer for when you’re travelling but with the current state of travel, this becomes even more important to carry around with you, in the car, and at home.

For those that aren’t familiar with Dr. Bronner’s, they make some amazing organic and vegan products. The lavender scent is also quite gentle and pleasant.

38: World Maps with Pins

best world map with pins gift for travellers

Speaking from experience, travel enthusiasts like to keep track of everywhere they’ve been or at least want to be able to see the world to be able to figure out where to go next.

In our article on the best world map with pins , you’ll find 7 different varieties in different styles that would make epic gifts.

39: Kammok Swiftlet

kammok swiftlet portable hammock stand

With so much time spent at home now, the key is to find new ways to relax and leverage things that you might already have. Kammok’s Swiftlet helps you do exactly that.

Swiftlet is a portable hammock stand that is currently the lightest in the market. You can set it up outdoors but you can also put it on our deck, balcony, or even inside the house.

A hammock stand isn’t complete with a hammock itself so while you’re at it, add a Kammok Roo Single . If you’re looking for to snuggle, I also recommend looking into trail quilts. We’ve reviewed extensively the Firebelly and Arctos .

40: Custom City Map Print

travel partner gifts

Continuing the “at home” theme, these beautiful prints of any city in the world are perfect pieces of art.

NordicCollection is an Etsy store that allows you to customize the size, location, and printed on fine art paper. All maps are made to order. Pair this print with a black frame and hang it in any part of the house.

41: Travel Airport Stickers

airport tag sticker pack

Stickers are a great way of reminiscing old travels and wanderlusting future trips. You can stick these vintage airport code luggage tags on the fridge, journal, laptop, scrapbook, photo albums, real luggage, and decorative ones.

This is a pack of 46 stickers with 23 unique airport codes that are approximately 3.5cm x 3 cm. They’re made in Canada and amazing quality.

42: Rosetta Stone

rosetta stone mandarin with hand holding app

The gift of language may be the best of all. For those that can’t travel, learning a new language is one of the best ways to prepare for a future trip.

Through Rosetta Stone’s system of learning a new language from the ground up by focusing on practical uses, pick up the basics in no time. The best package to purchase as a gift is a 1 year membership .

If you’re curious about my own experiences with Rosetta Stone, see my review of Mandarin and Japanese .

43: Peak Design Capture

travel partner gifts

I always get comments and stares when I travel with my camera clinging to my backpack strap. Peak Design’s Capture clip is an indispensable tool for all photographers because it allows you to quickly mount the camera on your body securely without having to stuff it back into your backpack.

Capture is what allows you to have your camera as accessible as possible so you never miss a moment when you’re travelling.

44: Fujifilm Instax Mini 90

fujifilm instax mini 90 camera for travellers

When it comes to gifts for travel lovers, retro is in and the Fujifilm Instax 90 is a fun little camera for any photographer. It’s great for when you travel but it’s also great for when you’re at home as well.

Over the years, I’ve made it a habit to bring this along with me as an alternative way to create collectable memories.

45: Peak Design Everyday Sling

travel partner gifts

For day trips, road trips whether local or internationally, having a good day bag is important but the question always is how do you balance the day bag with your larger backpack. Instead of having two backpacks, I’ve learned that travelling with a smaller sling that can be packed inside a larger backpack is the key. That’s where the Everyday Sling comes in.

This is Peak Design’s newest 6L sling bag that can carry an impressive amount of camera gear, iPad, documents, and water bottle. Whether you’re using this for big trips or small, this is the perfect photographer’s sling.

46: LensPen

lenspen dslr pro kit

If you’re thinking about finding a gift for a photographer that’s just starting off, they may not have this handy accessory that everyone needs – a Lenspen!

This 3 Lenspen set is what you need to clean your lens, viewfinder and filters from dust and dirt.

47: Backblaze

backblaze cloud backup membership

This may seem like a bit of an unusual gift but to a traveller and photographer, this is extremely useful. In digital, photos take up more and more hard drive space and thought of losing these files in a hard drive failure becomes more frightening.

Backblaze is an off-site backup strategy which uploads your most important files in case something ever did go wrong. Think iCloud but for unlimited storage of data. A one-year membership is an awesome gift.

48: BioLite HeadLamp 330 Lumen

biolite headlamp 330 lumen

There are a ton of things to like about this BioLite headlamp. It’s designed for comfort which is important, has multiple lighting modes, and can be recharged via micro USB instead of batteries.

The comfort part of this headlamp is due to the fact that it uses a 3D molded housing that sits as flat to your head as possible so it doesn’t bounce and slip like others do. The 330 lumen model also provides more light than the smaller 200.

49: Kammok Roo Single

travel partner gifts

For those in the market for a high quality hammock, Kammok is highly recommended. The Roo Single is for one person, is silky soft which we love, and is really easy to set up.

If you need more space, Kammok also has the Roo Double which fits – you guessed it – two people!

50: Kammok Firebelly Trail Quilt

kammok firebelly trail quilt

Trail quilts are becoming a must-have piece of gear for outdoor enthusiasts because of how lightweight they are and how versatile they can be when in combination with a hammock, as a sleeping bag, or just as a quilt to keep you warm.

I have a full article showing why quilts will soon replace sleeping bags and Kammok Firebelly 30 review so make sure you take a look!

51: Stuff Sack Set

5 pack stuff sack set

Also called ditty bags, this set of 5 is a useful set for any outdoor and travel enthusiast. Stuff sacks are a great way to stay organized and throw in anything from clean clothes, dirty clothes, food, and camping gear.

With a set like this, you also get ones that are all different colours so this makes it easy to identify what’s what when you pull it ouf your backpack or suitcase.

52: Osprey UltraLight Dry Sack

osprey ultralight dry sack gift for travel lovers

A traveller’s worth nightmare is getting things wet and so dry sacks like this one are helpful to have and they also double as a standard stuff sack.

This is made of 40D rip stop nylon and comes in 5 different colors. 6L is a good size to have but they also come in 1.5L, 3L, 12L, 20L, and 30L.

53: SteriPen UV Water Purifier

steripen adventurer opti gift

This is a nifty gadget to have especially if you’re going to a destination where clean water is a challenge. The way it works is that it uses UV light to destroy over 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, and protozoa. It is battery powered and is good for 50 treatments per charge.

Many people that use that have used it for trips to Africa with success and definitely makes a thoughtful gift. If you read the reviews, batteries seem to be a problem so it may be worth it to include a few CR123 batteries .

All e-commerce platforms including Amazon will allow you to send to a separate address from your billing address. Some will allow you to send it as a gift as well to make sure the invoice isn’t packaged with it.

It is always recommended to buy gifts early. My recommendation is to start looking before Black Friday comes around which gives you ample time to put your order in and receive the gift well before Christmas.

Create an Amazon wishlist right away and watch the prices as they constantly make micro adjustments to prices. Sometimes they’ll drop significantly and that is when you should jump on buying it. Also, look out for Amazon Warehouse items as they come at a significant discount for boxes being simply open but not used.

Another great idea is to gift travel experiences through something called Tinggly .

If you’re not a fan of Amazon, I recommend that you look up the brand’s website and purchase directly from them.

If you’re in the process of planning your trip and putting together your itinerary, these are genuinely the best resources that the Going Awesome Places team stands by 100% .

Credit cards: Don’t get burned by hidden fees on top of terrible exchange rates. When we travel now, we use the Wise Card . Simply load it with the currency you need before you go and use it as a regular VISA or their digital wallet card. Use their free app to track how much you have and top up when you need to.

Flights: Of all the booking search engines, Skyscanner is the most helpful and easy to use thanks to their Everywhere feature . Kayak is also another that’s we will often check as well.

Car Rental: If you’re looking to save money, these car rental coupon codes will be a true game-changer. Otherwise, DiscoverCars and RentalCars are great places to start.

park sleep fly airport parking discount code

Airport Parking: You’ll need a spot to leave your car at the airport so why not book a spot at a discount. Use code AWESOME7 to get at least $5 off at Airport Parking Reservations or Park Sleep Fly packages.

Data: We’ve been a huge fan of wifi hotspot devices like PokeFi (use code GAP24300) because their rates are so good and you can use it globally but recently, we’ve really loved using eSIMs. The best one is Airalo . Save money by getting region-specific eSIMs and use referral code WILLIA9500 to get $3 USD credit on your first purchase. Ubigi is another one that we’ve had success with where they uniquely offer 5G coverage. Use code AWESOME10 to save 10% on your first order.

Hotels: Our go-to is Booking.com because they have the best inventory of properties including hotels and B&Bs plus they have their Genius tier discounts . The exception is Asia where Agoda always has the best prices. TripAdvisor is also useful for reviews and bookings.

Vacation Rentals: Your first instinct will be to check Airbnb but we always recommend checking VRBO as well if you’re looking for a vacation rental.

Tours: When planning our trips, we always check both Viator and GetYourGuide to at least see what’s out there in the destination that we’re going to. They often have different offerings and prices so check both.

Travel Insurance: Learn how to buy the best travel insurance for you. This isn’t something you want to travel without.

  • Insured Nomads – Popular insurance provider for frequent travelers and comes with great coverage and special perks.
  • RATESDOTCA – Search engine Canadians looking for the cheapest insurance including multi-trip annual policies.
  • SafetyWing – A perfect fit for long-term nomads.
  • Medjet – Global air medical transportation.
  • InsureMyTrip – Best for seniors, families, and those with pre-existing conditions.

When the game.

When the game travel gift for couples

I purposely put this item first on the list of travel gifts for couples, because I really believe this is one of the most amazing and unique gifts of all 10 options I describe here!

When the game is created by Aggie and Jacob, an adventurous Insta-famous travel couple, with the aim of making people disconnect from their phones and spend more quality time together.

The game contains more than 150 travel-related question cards to ask your travel partner while being on the road. This way you can really make a deeper connection with your travel companion!

Matching luggage

eastpak tranverz luggage review - perfect travel gifts for couples

How cute would it be if you could go on vacation with matching luggage? Wouldn’t that be amazing?

For a long time, I’ve been using Eastpak luggage and I truly love their very sleek and practical bags! I have been using mine for years, and the bag is still in perfect condition which tells a lot about Eastpak’s great quality. Read more in my Eastpak luggage review !

Matching luggage with your partner can not only be easy to recognize but also be a fun extra touch to show your love for each other. Oh yes, my partner also has an Eastpak bag now ;).

Matching travel keychain

Vagabond’s travel keychain allows you to keep a memory of every destination you visit! Whether you choose a keychain or necklace, you can buy engraved travel rings for every destination and put them on your chain!

Travel gift card

Some people might not be a fan, but I love to get travel gift cards! I find it just so exciting to get and gift a romantic stay to my beloved travel couple or partner!

Tinggly offers travel gift cards for all kinds of destinations and all kinds of occasions. Whether you’re looking for a birthday gift, wedding present or Christmas gift, they have it all!

National Geographic subscription

travel partner gifts

Did you know that National Geographic has a quarterly Travelers magazine?

Not only do I think that the National Geographic magazines are a perfect gift, they also publish several travel books that are amazing to give as a present!

You can easily buy a subscription (for as long as you like) and National Geographic will send it as a gift to the address of the person you’re gifting to. I bought a subscription for my boyfriend as a present and it worked perfectly!

Travel-themed subscription box

travel subscription boxes - perfect travel gifts for couples

One of the most diverse travel gifts for couples is without doubt a subscription box. Because whatever type of person you are and whatever you love, there is a box for you!

I personally love to get surprises, and what’s better than getting a box every once in a while without knowing exactly what you’ll get? The surprise will be even bigger (for the person who gets the present as well as for the person who gives it)!

Not so long ago, I compiled a list of super fun travel-themed subscription boxes that could be the perfect gift for your travel couple!

Travel scratch off map

travel partner gifts

Probably as fun as traveling together is documenting your travels together for later. One of the popular ways to do this is to scratch off all the destinations you’ve visited together with your partner on a map!

Therefore, such a scratch-off map might be the perfect couples gift! From international maps to country maps, there are maps for every sort of geographical detail that matches your travel ambition. Thus, if you are searching for a (maybe cliche but always fun) travel gift, a scratch-off map might be just perfect!

Matching luggage tags

travel partner gifts

Nothing is more charming than showing your love for each other as a travel couple. One of the easiest ways to do this is using matching luggage tags! This way you can not only easily find your luggage but also show that you belong together.

There exist endless luggage tag designs so I’m pretty sure you’ll find something that is perfect for your travel couple, whether this is a motivational quote or a cheesy Mr & Mrs tag!

travel partner gifts

Another great gift idea for couples who travel together is an action cam! This way they can make memories that can be watched later on and even shown to friends, family or children. Therefore, it’s probably one of the most fun presents to give!

I personally use a Go Pro and really love it since it’s a pretty qualitative action cam that I can also handle directly from my phone. However, my partner is a huge fan of the DJI action cams which are equally qualitative.

Photo gifts

The same argument that holds for the action cam also holds for photo gifts, it’s just super fun to gather memories together and hang them up at home to show them to everyone who comes to visit!

Artifact Uprising is the perfect service for this. They let you create photo books, gifts, wedding materials, and much more. So why not gift your favourite travel couple (or partner) a tangible memory of one of their trips?

I truly hope that one of these presents will be the perfect travel gift for the person/people you have in mind. I really believe that whichever choice you make, each of these options will be the right choice!

If you have other suggestions to add to this list, don’t hesitate to put them in the comments so I can add more to this post!

If you still haven’t found the perfect gift, you might want to take a look at one of the following gift guides:

If your guy needs his morning cup of Joe, give him this travel gift of a travel coffee press that’ll guarantee he’ll always have his morning pick-me-up no matter if he’s in a hotel, Airbnb, or way off the grid camping and hiking in the mountains. This one earned a Good Housekeeping Coffee and Tea Award because it was so easy to use.

Vitruvian Partners Ups Stake in Civitatis by $50 Million in Travel Experiences Bet

Jesse Chase-Lubitz , Skift

June 26th, 2024 at 2:30 AM EDT

Vitruvian Partners' additional $50 million investment in Civitatis underscores the company's appeal as a niche marketplace. The company plans to use the funds to solidify its leadership in Latin America.

Jesse Chase-Lubitz

Vitruvian Partners, an international investment firm, made an additional $50 million venture investment in Civitatis, a curated marketplace for tours and activities mainly serving travelers from Spain and Latin America.

In 2022, Vitruvian Partners invested about $109 million in Civitatis. In the latest action, Vitruvian bought secondary shares essentially from other shareholders.

“The company has no need for primary capital, having been profitable since inception,” said Alberto Gutiérrez, CEO and Founder of Civitatis.

The company, which saw a 31% increase in travelers between 2022 and 2023, capitalized on a huge untapped market by targeting Spanish speakers, which Civitatis said would be used to grow across Spain and Latin America. Its success in the niche is once again attracting private equity support, allowing it to expand its market.

“Civitatis has a very strong balance sheet position to continue investing in its international expansion,” said Gutiérrez. The company will focus on Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina, he added, as well as invest in new talent and technology.

The company’s main goal with these funds is to “cement” its leadership in Latin America. “Additional investment will help us to reach our goals faster, but also, to make them even bigger,” Gutiérrez said.

Civitatis’ growth

Civitatis’ offerings grew from 29,000 in 2019 to 87,000 in 2023 . In the same time period, it nearly doubled its Spanish-speaking suppliers to over 6,000.

The company claims to have traction in destinations like Japan, New York, Rome, Paris, and Madrid.

Last year, Gutiérrez told Skift that the company has found success because it is helping customers streamline decision-making. The company tries to offer tailored experiences by sourcing Spanish-speaking guides in different locations.

Civitatis is capitalizing on its leading position in selling Spanish-speaking tours and activities as it pushes into new markets thanks to private equity support.
