Northern Utah's Favorite Tasteful ‍ HAUNTED ATTRACTION

logan utah haunted tour

WHAT IS THIS PLACE?

The 10th West Scare House is Logan's favorite Halloween attraction, located at 900 N 1000 W in Logan, Utah. This is a place you're likely to never forget and may never return from... Unlike a lot of haunted attractions, we pride ourselves in offering "tasteful scaring" without resorting to over-the-top gore. With more than 4000 square feet of haunting space indoors and more than two acres of amazing outdoor fun, we welcome all guests who dare to enter.

* Price includes sales tax. All tickets are good for one admission on any date andare non-refundable... unless we see you in the afterlife.

•  Live performers, cinematic illusions, lights, loud sounds, automatronic elements and images. The 10th West Scare House is designed to startle you and uses a variety of techniques and scenes to do so. •  Security. Staff will be throughout the premises to escort people through the scare house and grounds and ensure a safe experience for all visitors. •  Cold. A portion of the 10th West Scare House experience is outdoors -- dress accordingly. We will not close in case of inclement weather. If it's too cold or rainy for you, you can come again at a different time: tickets are valid for one admission any day.

•  Harassment. Performers are trained to interact with and startle guests, but they will not touch or hassle you. •  Satanic imagery. •  Excessive guts and gore. •  An age limit. We do not recommend the experience for young children, but we instead advise parents to use their own discretion.  There is loud noises, spooky noises & music, actors jumping out and wearing masks and makeup. If your child is easily scared by these kinds of things, think better of it.

HUNDREDS OF 5 STAR REVIEWS

logan utah haunted tour

Creative props, good actors, and an extremely reasonable price. I recommend it to anybody, especially those looking for a good date idea in Logan!

I actually am kinda picky about "scare houses" and I really enjoyed both of them! I was impressed with the variety and I honestly got scared a bunch of times!!

Great fun! I took a group of 12 year olds and we loved it! Can't wait to go again! They add new things to it so it's not the same each week!

logan utah haunted tour

It gets better every year! Your actors are incredible and the experience was way better than any expensive scare house. 20/10!!

Creative themes for each area, no blood, guts, or gore. Just simple, frightful fun!

For the safety of our patrons and actors, protective face masks are encouraged for our indoor attraction.

Exploring the past: Logan Downtown Ghost Tour marks a decade of eerie tales with Utah Storytelling Guild

  • Clarissa Casper staff writer
  • Oct 17, 2023

Support Local Journalism

The Bridgerland chapter of the Utah Storytelling Guild, in collaboration with the Logan Downtown Alliance, has been at work this month bringing the Logan Downtown Ghost Tour to Cache Valley residents.

This annual tour delves into the eerie, yet true tales from Cache Valley and Logan’s downtown area, focusing on lingering spirits that have left their mark. This is the 10th year the ghost tour has been in operation, according to the tour’s Artistic Director David Sidwell — a member of the storytelling guild — and the second year the tour featured four storytellers at different locations throughout downtown Logan.

“This gives us a fun way to explore the past in a cool setting during a cool time of year,” Sidwell said.

Sidwell, a seasoned storyteller himself, researches stories for the tour throughout the year, scouring old newspapers, listening to family anecdotes and reading old diaries. The guild members then add their own artistic touches to how they tell it, he said.

Each year tour attendees can hear different tales and learn different histories, Sidwell said. Gary Saxton, LDA’s executive director, found the spooky locations where these ghost stories come to life.

The 2023 tour kicks off at the historic Thatcher-Young Mansion, where storyteller Leah Adkins tells a mysterious tale about Cache Valley’s historic canal system, sibling rivalry and a haunted fiddle.

Individuals then walk over to the historic Bluebird Restaurant, which is currently under construction. There, Ted Erickson, a professional storyteller with the guild, tells a story about the restaurant’s haunted marble countertop bar — a popular spot for locals to enjoy milkshakes.

The next story is told inside the building that once housed Even Stevens, which is also under construction. Apria Martin, a storyteller who drives from Payson to participate in the tour, tells a story revolving around a woman’s yearning for a life of luxury, particularly for a beautiful piece of jewelry. After working tirelessly to save up for the jewelry the woman seeks, a house fire changes everything.

Individuals are then taken to another abandoned building on Logan’s Main Street where Nicole Martineau, a guild storyteller and drama teacher at Mountain Crest High School, tells a story about a tailor who lived in Cache Valley whose pursuit of musical excellence leads to an unexpected fire in Cache Valley’s first theatre. Martineau tells her story with musical accompaniment, something tour attendees said really helped them engage with the story.

“It was a blast,” said Lorie Watts, who attended the tour on Saturday. “I learned so much history. I thought it was so interesting how well prepared they were. They really knew their stuff.”

Watts said her favorite part about the tour was the large variety of stories and storytellers.

“Each of them were so different,” she said. “With the stories that they each told, I felt like they really felt it.”

Sidwell agreed, saying the storytellers are the heart of the tour.

“Seeing storytellers at the top of their game is a fun activity,” he said. “With Marvel movies always flashing at us and everything, it’s fun to just sit down with a person who could bring all the stuff to life in your mind without the aide of CGI.”

Those interested in attending the tour can sign up at logandowntown.org/ghost-tour.html . The last tour will be Oct. 28.

The Great Cache Valley Ghost Tour

After some consideration and the backing of Utah State University’s Folklore Program, I have decided to create a ghost tour/walk for Logan, and WE NEED YOUR HELP!

' src=

Danny B. Stewart

logan utah haunted tour

I moved to Logan Utah in July of 2021. I hadn’t spent a great deal of time in Logan before moving, so I wasn’t overly familiar with the city or Cache Valley. All I knew was based upon assumption. The first three things that came to my mind when thinking about the city were farms, livestock, and Utah State University ― the latter being the reason for my move to the area ― because I had been accepted into the USU Folklore Masters Program. I have since fallen in love with Cache Valley, and I’m even considering staying after I finish my graduate schooling.

Some of you readers may remember from previous articles that I am the owner, creator, and operator of The Original Provo Utah Ghost Tour with Danny B. Stewart : , and The Provo Utah Faerie Walk .

These are walking tours that I built from scratch, utilizing only traditional fieldwork and story gathering practices. After some consideration and the backing of Utah State University’s Folklore Program, I have decided to create a ghost tour/walk for Logan, and WE NEED YOUR HELP!

This project is going to be my master’s project at USU. The final product will be a full tour/walk that will be owned and run by the Utah State University Folklore Program. I will also be writing a related book that can be purchased by the public and used as a guide of sorts, full of wonderful folklore and anomalies that I will eventually discover here in Cache Valley. My intent isn’t just to focus on Logan, but the surrounding cities as well, and I have already begun stumbling upon rumors about which I’m seeking more information.

I heard from one of my former English students that somewhere on the west side of Logan, someone found a bull or cow that had been impaled on a telephone pole. Have any of you heard this story? I have spoken to business owners along Main Street, and have learned of stories of “hidden treasure” in a local business, ghost kitties and “shadow people”, not to mention multiple UFO related stories that may or may-not be related to ominous “gigantic-bird” sightings in our area. There are local cattle mutilations that I’d like to get to the bottom of, and let us not forget sightings of “dog-men” in our fair city. I can’t go into a lot of detail relating to these because well … I don’t have a lot to go on … yet.

So I ask you, the reader, and Cache Valley locals to help me, help USU in the creation of this Ghost Tour, and help us build a new lasting tradition here in Cache Valley.

If you have knowledge of local folklore, ghost stories, “monster-lore,” or anything local and out of the ordinary, please contact Danny B. Stewart at [email protected], or you can message me at the Ghost Tour link posted above.

And in advance … Thank you!

Danny B. Stewart is a Utah-based folklorist and tradition bearer who has spent his entire life collecting stories on all things spooky and uncanny in Utah.

Danny grew up on a haunted racehorse farm in Vineyard, Utah, where he spent most of his youth chasing after the “water monsters” that lurked in the swamp that bordered his home. These haunted experiences helped to mold him into the creative he is today. He is a traditions bearer, historian, educator, entertainer, writer and storyteller who specializes in folklore, mythology and legend, with a special emphasis on everything that is “spooky” about Utah. He is a former adjunct instructor of Humanities through the Arts at UVU, and is the creator of The Original Provo Utah Ghost Tour. Danny has collected more than one hundred and seventy original pieces of local folklore that will soon be preserved by Brigham Young University’s Library in the L. Tom Perry Special Collections.
