  1. Voyager front tire pressure

Many years and a lot of miles on various tires trying a variety of pressures on my Voyager, has led me towards a sweet spot of rear 40, front 38, which I closely monitor with a Steelmate TPMS. The front can handle less pressure without much of an issue.

  2. Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 (2009+) Maintenance Schedule

Tyre size and tyre pressure for the Kawasaki Vulcan 1700. The Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 motorcycles run the following tyre sizes and pressures. It's the same for the Nomad, Voyager, and Classic. There's no Mean Streak (which was different for the 1600).

  3. Tire pressures Voyager 1700

I am running 34 to 36 front with a Exedra Max tire. I also changed the springs and put Racetech Gold Valve Cartridge emulators in the front forks. At 28 PSI the tire wore prematurely and started cupping.

  4. 1700 tyre pressures

1700 tyre pressures. Anyone found a sweet spot for tyre pressures for these yet. On my voyager, it recommends 28 front and 36 to 40 rear depending on loading. I found using 28 it was too mushy in front and bumped it up to 38. Too hard, tried 32 and seems ok 'ish.

  5. Vulcan Voyager Front Tire Pressure

Some thoughts and my experience regarding Kawasaki's recommendation of 28psi for the Voyager's front tire. As stated in the video, my official recommendation is to follow what Kawasaki says ...

  6. Tire pressure

I own a 2017 Vulcan 1700 Voyager and I just replaced my stock tires with the Bridgestone Exedra Max Tires. The tire reads 41psi cold on both, is that the correct pressure??

  7. Best tires for Voyager 1700

Most Vulcan owners now go with the 180/65-16 on the rear, and a 130/90-16 (also known as a MT90) on the front. Those tires will fit 1500, 1600, or 1700 Nomads, and the Voyager / Vaquero as well. I've had several sets of the Michelin Commander II on my Nomad, and now on my Voyager, and will likely have many more.

  8. Front Tire Pressure Question

Two days ago I had the Dunlop Elite 3 150-80-16 installed and am not sure of how much air pressure to use. On the side of the tire it states maximum weight 791 pounds at 41 psi. I ride solo 99% of the time so should I run it with 41 psi or at a lower psi? All help is greatly appreciated. Gene _____

  10. Tire pressure VN1700

The manual indicate a recommended pressure of 28psi for the front tire and 36psi for the rear tire (Bridestone tires). Mine is fitted with Michelin Commander II tires. The current pressure is 38psi front and rear. Is it too much? There is no indication on the tires and I cannot find anything on the internet ....

  12. Recommended Tire Pressure

The max pressure on the sidewall is a "Hot" rating. 2-3 psi lower than that when you add "cold" air would work for a starting point. Move your pressure a few psi at a time up or down to find the sweet spot for your skill level/riding style.

  13. Front Tire Pressure

I've never pushed the front up very high, keeping my Classic (with Michelin tires) at about 30 PSI and the Voyager (stock shoes) at 32 PSI (cold). The rears on both bikes are kept at the 40 PSI mark. What pressure do others ride in their front tires? If you run with higher pressures, what might change in the bike's ride?

  14. Voyager front tire pressure

Many years and a lot of miles on various tires trying a variety of pressures on my Voyager, has led me towards a sweet spot of rear 40, front 38, which I closely monitor with a Steelmate TPMS. The front can handle less pressure without much of an issue.

  15. Vulcan 900 Tire Pressure

Always use an accurate tire gauge* and check pressures only when the tires are cold (i.e., wait one hour after running). We have found many cheap gauges to be off more than 5 psi, so be sure to use a top quality gauge and preferably one that retains the pressure reading until reset!

  17. Tire Pressure

2011 Vulcan Vaquero 1700. I'm a few feathers shy of 200 pounds, and I've been running my tire pressure at 30 pounds/ 40 pounds. I seem to get better gas mileage when I run with higher tire pressure. Would this be sacrificing safety for gas mileage, though? What pressure do you run at, and why?

  18. tire pressure????

I don't know about a 900, but Kawi says 28 psi for the front tire of the Voyager (same front tire size you listed). That is way too low, but it is a much heavier bike. Many people have had lots of issues with running (even the recommended Bridgestones) at that pressure, me included. Running a Bridgestone at that pressure ruined the ...

  19. Tire pressure

Tire pressure. If you pump them up to 40 psi and go ride around, then let them down to 35 psi and ride a little, you will really feel the difference, and you'll know right away whenever your tires are severely low. This is important to know, as you don't want to take off on a ride with a puncture or other leak.

  20. Tire Pressures

Usually, if you check the manufacturers websites, you can get recommended tire pressures straight from them. I know for a fact that the Metzeler site will recommend different tire pressures for 1-up, light 2-up and heavy 2-up riding, and differentiates between front and rear pressures.
