Sir Paul McCartney MBE is an English musician, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer and one of the most celebrated musicians of the 20th century.

He was part of perhaps the most famous British band of the 20th century, The Beatles who are regarded as one of the most popular and influential acts in the history of rock music and his songwriting partnership with John Lennon is one of the greatest of all time. McCartney has been recognised as one of the most successful performers of all time collating 60 gold discs and sales of over 100 million albums and 100 million singles of his work with the Beatles and as a solo artist.

In 1999 he received the honour of being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist due to the fact that he has written, or co-written 32 songs that have reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and as of 2014 he has sold more than 15.5 million RIAA-certified units in the United States. McCartney, Lennon, Harrison and Starr received MBEs in 1965, and in 1997, McCartney was knighted for his services to music. He performed at the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games and is seen as ambassador of British music.

McCartney first met Lennon at a church fete in 1967 where he was performing with his current band The Quarrymen, little did they know they would form such a close working relationship and would eventually become the most successful recording band in history. Cited as the driving force behind the first ever rock concept album, 'St. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club', McCartney kept creativity at the forefront of everything he did.

He currently holds an honorary doctorate degree from Yale Music, a Brit Award for an Outstanding Contribution to Music, twenty-one Grammy Awards and a knighthood. The tireless musician is still touring to this day and shows no sign of slowing.

Live reviews

The Paul McCartney concert on October 30, 2014 in Greensboro, NC was far and away the best concert I have been to and I have been to many. To see this music legend alone is amazing but to see him and his band, not missing a beat the entire evening, goes beyond amazing. McCartney's voice gave just a little a couple of times but his enery and showmanship was spot on, and and other than those one or two times, his voice was as rich as ever. Make no mistake, the tickets were expensive but you get every penny's worth of your money back in the show you get. He started late, about 45 minutes or so, but then played for almost 3 straight hours and did 2 extended encores. Just amazing. I saw BB King not too long ago and he played about the length of one of McCartney's encores and just droned on and on for the rest of the hour long show, telling stories that I guess he found entertaining but no one else did, as evidenced by a few boo's. Sad and a waste of good money. Don't get me wrong-I still love BB King but it was a sad waste of time and money that night. You will not have any waste seeing Paul McCartney. His renditions of the old Beatles songs were a delightful step back in time, his Wings songs as tight as ever and it all just got better and better. The lighting and background effects on a large wall of lights produced beautiful effects that went from psychadelic to photo's of children, the Beatels, buildings and more. Standing alone and playing an acoustic guitar on a large block that rose about 20 feet above the stage was fantastic, with a full moon, leafless tree and midnight blue sky behind him. And then a large blue rose forming on the front of the block just set the mood for his excellent guitarwork and vocals. When the show ends with Live and Let Die, they pyrotechnics were amazing. The roar of about 16,000 fans combined with fireworks and blasts of flames in perfect unison was the way to hit a finale. And the 2 encores were a perfect end to a perfect night. If you get a chance to see Paul McCarney, go-just go! Worth the money and then some!

PAUL MCCARTNEY is Out There playing for 3 hours. Yes, that is right! Pauly rocked the sold out show for 3 hours. This is the third time I have had the pleasure of seeing him and have seen many other bands but this was the best show I have ever seen. Not only did he rock out with fab Beatle songs like "Helter Skelter" but he also slowed it down with songs like "The Long And Winding Road". He treated us to some great Wings surprises like "Hi Hi Hi" and "Listen To What The Man Said". He also played some great songs from his latest album "New". I have his concert DVD's and he added many different songs to the mix while still keeping in some of the hoped for favorites.

I don't want to give anything away but there are some awesome surprises music wise awaiting the lucky person who will attend one of his shows.

This is a must see show, the material spanned his entire career. He sounded fantastic and he looks great! To all the ladies out there, you will still swoon when you see him! I did! He was funny and charming. One of the most refreshing things was that you could tell he was having an awesome time and you felt like he wanted to stay and play longer as much as you wanted him to stay and play longer! He really shows his fans that he cares about us as much as we care about him.

A very cool and unexpected event: He brought a couple up onstage who had a sign stating that he was ordained and would he marry them. He did a short little ceremony for them stating that it really wasn't legal but it was awesome! I totally wanted to grab the guy next to me (who I didn't know) and yell "We're next!"

I really think this is a show for anyone who really loves music. Paul was changing his guitar's and bass's out even playing one of his original guitars that he used for Sgt.Peppers. Throwing in an awesome tribute to Jimi Hendrix. Go see him if you get the chance. I would go again tonight if I could!

Beatles legend and Wings mainman, Paul McCartney will remain indelibly etched into the annals of time. The humanitarian, bassist and vocalist has traversed six decades, performing in some of the world's biggest and best venues, at historic moments (Band Aid), and unique moments (who ever pegged Macca as a Nirvana member?!), McCartney is a one-of-a-kind performer, fully deserving his place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The 72-year-old Liverpudlian is entirely at ease on stage – he's essentially lived there for the best portion of his life – his catalogue is studded with megaton hits. Bond theme “Live And Let Die” (replete with flamethrowers when performed at festivals), Stevie Wonder duet “Ebony and Ivory”, “Coming Up” and “Jet” are non-Beatles bangers, but he frequently performs legendary cuts like “Let It Be”, “Back In The USSR” and “Hey Jude” at the end of his sets. How thoroughly immense is it watching a genuine Beatle lead a rousing chorus of “Naa naa naa nanananaaaaa?" Though arguably not as elastic as he once was – don't expect too many backflips – he's still a consummate entertainer. His voice has aged, but he still smashes every note, and his fretwork's not diminished a smidgen. It's rare you get to see a legend in the flesh, but grab any chance to witness McCartney, and you'll not regret it.

Paul McCartney. Just let the legend of that name sink in.

I can honestly, without a doubt say that this was the best concert/show I have ever been to (and I have been to numerous concerts).

Not only did he perform his New songs, but he performed all of his hits from The Beatles to The Wings as well. And I am sure he barely hit the top of the iceberg with what he performed considering his incredible library of number 1s and hundreds upon hundreds of songs.

This 72 year old man performed a 3 hour nonstop performance in clouding pyrotechnics, memoriams to his late and great Beatle counterparts, and 3 encores without breaking a sweat.

He may not be able to hold his notes as long as he did when he was younger but he still sounded amazing nonetheless. I was blown away and so happy that I can tell my kids when I am older that I saw one of The Beatles and it was perfect.

I don't think I have ever recommended a concert as highly as I am for Sir Paul. He is a living legend and am honored to have seen him rocking, running all over the place and putting on a great performance at the age of 72.

YOU MUST GO SEE HIM LIVE. It's an experience well worth the money and his tickets start at 25 for far seats but even so, WORTH IT.

BEST CONCERT OF MY LIFE!! I can say Even one of the most incredible moments of my life. I know what it means being able to see the legend Sir Paul McCartney live and he fullfill all my expectations and way more! His band is absolutely amazing!

But let me tell you the highlight of my year:

I could only afford the cheapest level tickets but I was more than ok with that since i was going to see my idol, then on my way to our seats with my 2 girlfriends, an angel waiting at the top of the stairs ask us to see our tickets and then offer to change them, we were surprised and maybe thinking it was a scam but then she pulled her envelope with 3 FIRST ROW TICKETS!! Best seat in the arena, she identify herself as part of Sir Paul team, and after many thank yous and hugs we went to see the biggest concert.

Thats why he is the absolutely GREATEST rock star of this planet! Beacuse he truly cares about his audiences, i will never in my wildest dreams tought i was going to see able to be on the first row, besides the wonderful drama of the situation his performance was perfect, spotless, he is full of energy and will be forever grateful to him for such an amazing night.

Sir Paul McCartney concert in Munchen was fabulous (Fab four, Fab one :)). The Olympiastadion was full of happy delighted people who were lucky enough to get a ticket. There were Beatles fans along with Wings and Macca fans from many different countries, young and not so young people, all cheerfully singing the everlasting songs and dancing to our beloved music that defined the lives of many of us. The show went on for full 2 hours and 40 minutes, almost 40 songs from all periods, from late 50's to nowadays hits.

For me, it was a once in a lifetime event. I grew up with Beatles and Paul McCartney music, and I have been waiting for a long time for this. It's been a long time since I bought my first Beatles record, even long time since I bought my last one (not to mention I have all Beatles records plus many of their solo albums :)), and the possibility to see one of my heroes live in concert, it was just a dream come true.

It was worth every single penny spent on concert ticket, air ticket, airport transfers, accomodation for couple of days, and of course whole lotta german beer :)

Long live Sir Paul, long live Beatles, forever live their eternal music!

This is the second time I've seen Paul McCartney in the past few years, and yet again he did NOT disappoint. First of all, he played almost 3 hours both times, so you will get plenty of bang for your buck based on the duration of his show alone. Secondly, considering he is 72 years old, he still nails most of the hard notes and delivers a true, genuine performance while frequently interacting with the audience in between songs. Paul is a very personable character that makes the fans feel appreciated and loved as much as we love him. His show started with a few songs that would be recognizable to the casual fan, it delved off into some less "commonly" known songs and a couple cuts from his new album (which also sounded great), then he closed out the show with MANY huge hits and sing-alongs that definitely left the audience wanting more! The pyrotechnics that kicked in during Live and Let Die were unexpected and amazing! I think he also did three encores as well, and I would definitely return to watch any future shows he does in Kansas City!

aronktaylor’s profile image

I don't need to say how amazing this man is and how happy I am to have attended this show. On "Live and let die" there was even pyrotechnics and fireworks. Paul was telling us stories, singing and joking, I think he switched more than 5 guitars during the show and the evening was just overall beautiful.

The venue was terrible, though.. There was no warning about not bringing the bags and we had to pay 15 Euros to leave the bag before getting in - backpacks were not allowed at all (so they basically forced us to give this money as it was too late to go back to hotel and leave it there). Also the security check was useless.. We were drinking in line to warm up and forgot about empty bottle in the pocket.. Guess what? We were able to bring a GLASS BOTTLE through security check, cause we didn't remember and they never checked.. What if I was a psycho? It's glass after all.

As soon as the legend, Sir Paul McCartney himself took the stage, the magic began! He performed for three solid hours, entertaining the crowd with songs written with the Beatles, with Wings, and on his own. I got teary-eyed when he first came into view, as you don't expect to see a legend, at 72 years old, still performing at the top of his game! Paul McCartney still LOVES what he does! Financially, he doesn't need to perform. He does it because he loves to and because he still can, which is impressive! This concert shall be one of my favorites for a long time - and I've attend many concerts in my lifetime. He came out and did two encores, even running around the stage. He never sat down unless poised at the piano. A legend, a master, a must-see!

The tour dates mark his first live shows in the UK since his headlining set at Glastonbury in June 2022, where he became the festival’s oldest solo headliner.

The set featured surprise appearances from Bruce Springsteen and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.

Sir Paul performed Beatles and Wings songs in a set lasting more than two hours, and was joined on stage by Springsteen for Glory Days and I Wanna Be Your Man.

The electrifying show was further amplified as he introduced Grohl to the stage to sing I Saw Her Standing There and Band On The Run.

Sir Paul will also take his Got Back show to France and Spain, after previously announcing upcoming dates in Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Peru this October. Today, Paul has also announced shows in France and Spain.

He launched his Got Back tour in 2022, completing 16 show across the US before his Glastonbury appearance.

In 2023 he performed 18 shows throughout Australia, Mexico and Brazil.

Tickets for the UK shows are on sale from June 21 at 10am.

Paul McCartney tickets: Here's where to get UK tour tickets now

One of the Fab Four, Paul McCartney, just confirmed he'll be returning to UK stages later this year to play his greatest hits.

The Beatles frontman has just announced he'll be playing four massive shows across the UK to tens of thousands of people to celebrate his music.

This is even more exciting considering they will be the first shows Sir Paul has played since 2018's gigs - which spanned years into 2022.

The upcoming Got Back tour will begin on December 14, 2024, and run through to December 19, 2024.

Across these dates, he'll be playing Manchester's Co-op Live and London's O2 Arena.

On top of that, he's also playing two dates in Madrid, Spain, just before the UK shows.

However, considering how incredibly popular both Sir Paul and The Beatles are, we are banking on even more dates being introduced in the coming days and weeks.

Speaking out about making his return to British stages, the Hey Jude singer said: "I'm excited to be ending my year and 2024 tour dates in the UK."

He added: "It's always such a special feeling to play shows on our home soil. Let's get set to party. I can't wait to see you."

Tickets are out right now, and we have all the information you need on how you can get yours.

Here's the information:

Paul McCartney tickets will be available from Friday, June 21, 2024, at 10am .

At the time of writing, the only UK website with tickets available for these shows is Ticketmaster. However, Live Nation has tickets for the international dates.

This may change, but no word has yet come from Sir Paul about where else you can get tickets.

Here's the links you need:

TICKETMASTER - Buy Paul McCartney tickets here . LIVE NATION - Buy Paul McCartney tickets here .

Sir Paul McCartney - who is best known for such Beatles songs as Let It Be, Here Comes the Sun, Come Together and more - will be going on tour in December 2024.

At the time of writing, he'll be playing two shows in Spain, before hitting the UK for four arena shows.

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney has announced he will bring his phenomenal Got Back Tour to the UK as part of his European dates this December 2024!

In what will be his first UK dates since headlining Glastonbury in 2022, Paul McCartney will bring his acclaimed Got Back Tour to the UK this December. Fulfilling his promise to perform in the UK again, made at his last show here in 2022.

The legendary musician will be bringing his tour to both Manchester’s Co-Op Live and London’s 02 Arena.

Tickets are on sale now!

Irrefutably one of the most successful singer-songwriters and performers of all time, McCartney is behind the most beloved catalogue in music. With songs like ‘Hey Jude’, ‘Live and Let Die’, ‘Band on the Run’,  ‘Let It Be’ and so many more, the Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show: hours of the greatest moments from the last 60 years of music – dozens of songs from Paul’s solo, Wings and of course Beatles catalogues that have formed the soundtracks of our lives.

This will mark Paul’s first UK shows since his iconic Glastonbury headlining performance in 2022. Hailed as “one of the greatest gigs of all time” by The Times and “a masterclass from the greatest living cultural figure in this country’s history” by The i, it was also Paul and his band’s 500th show together! Paul’s last show in London was in 2018 at The O2 and his last Manchester show was in 2011 at the Manchester Evening News Arena. These UK shows will round off the Got Back tour 2024 dates.

“I’m excited to be ending my year and 2024 tour dates in the UK. It’s always such a special feeling to play shows on our home soil. It’s going to be an amazing end to the year. Let’s get set to party. I can’t wait to see you.” Paul McCartney, June 2024

From About | Cheese & Grain (cheeseandgrain.com) :

The Cheese and Grain is a not-for-profit, member owned social enterprise and also a registered charity. Its main aim is to promote and boost Frome’s social, cultural and economic life. The Cheese and Grain has an important role in Frome because we can host meetings, large (with a capacity of 835 standing and 500 seated) and small (up to about 30 people in our mezzanine). Every year we hold an annual member’s meeting (the Annual General Meeting – the AGM). This is the meeting where the membership elects the Board of Trustees. There’s plenty of time at the AGM to meet other members. […]

From  paulmccartney.com , August 15, 2022:

The day before Paul’s massive headline appearance at Glastonbury, something much more intimate happened on the spur of the moment about half-an-hour from the festival site. These are my diary entries for the 48 hours prior to the weekend, which give you an exclusive insight into the crazy circumstances of a last-minute gig that brought an entire town to a standstill! THURSDAY 23 JUNE Today, Paul will announce his surprise Glastonbury warm-up show, which will take place tomorrow in Frome, a small, picturesque but quite sleepy Somerset town just 20 miles from Glastonbury, at the local venue (a former cattle market) Cheese & Grain. Last week, I got a call from Paul’s promoter, Barrie Marshall, which started with Barrie saying: “Paul’s had this idea…” which is always a very exciting way for any call with Barrie to begin! And what an exciting idea it is too! I finished the call buzzing. When I arrived at the Cheese & Grain this morning, the place was completely unsuspecting of what was about to unfold! Normal life carried on, but a few canny locals spotted that there was quite a lot of extra activity happening around the venue. There were more people than normal, and a fewer bigger vehicles than they might be used to…. A small crowd started to form – and nothing attracts a crowd like a crowd.   At 4:50pm the venue posted a message on their social media: “ Paul McCartney live in Frome? OK then! Tickets are available now from our box office in person only. First come, first served.” At the same time, the venue put posters on the front of the venue that were met by an audible gasp from the already small crowd that had formed there. “OH MY ACTUAL GOD,” shouted one attendee!  Within seconds, people literally came flying out of the nearby woods and through the carpark. Like a surprise attack, the venue was surrounded! As they continued to appear, that line from ‘Eleanor Rigby’ kept circling in my head over and over again: “Where do they all come from?”  About 10 minutes later, Frome traffic had ground to a halt. We’d hit gridlock. The town of 26,000 had come to a standstill, with police now on the scene looking to restore some sense of order. Meanwhile, the line had grown all around the venue and its car park, backing into the woods. There were school kids with their parents, office workers, shop workers, teenagers, retirees and everything in between – even the Mayor of Frome (a gardener by day) was in the queue! Unsurprisingly, the 600 tickets got snapped up very quickly, disappearing within an hour. Such an amazing response points to tomorrow’s show being a huge success!  FRIDAY 24 JUNE My phone and emails had been going crazy since 5pm yesterday. This was such a hot ticket but I couldn’t help anyone. It was a case of first come, first served.  But those locals who didn’t get tickets turned up anyway and set up camp in the car park, not wanting to miss out on their town’s big occasion. “It’s probably the best moment of my life,” said Richard Churchyard, owner of Frome’s independent record store Raves From The Grave. “The thought of actually seeing Paul in my own hometown… I can’t put it into words. It’s a dream.” He summed up the feelings of many of the locals who congregated at the venue today. They were rewarded when Paul arrived for soundcheck, winding down his window to wave and give a thumbs up. All of a sudden, it started to actually feel real…! In amongst the 600 lucky locals were some notable guests: Brian Johnson from AC/DC had turned up, as had Hollywood couple Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann, pop phenomenon Olivia Rodrigo, and another Olivia – Paul’s good friend Olivia Harrison, wife of the late, great Beatle, George. You’d think that a warm-up show intended to get the juices flowing ahead of a huge, landmark concert the next day would be a fairly brief affair – check everything’s working, that everyone knows the chords, test some songs out – but no, not for Paul. TWENTY-SEVEN songs later, we all piled giddily out of the Cheese & Grain, blown away by the intimacy of the occasion, when star and fans were brought together under one relatively small roof for an unforgettable performance. […] Stuart Bell – Paul McCartney’s UK publicist

LIVE: Paul McCartney tickets go on sale for Manchester and London as fans complain of 'frozen' queues - updates

Tickets for paul mccartney's four-date uk 2024 tour - including two nights in manchester - go on sale this morning.

  • Updated 12:03, 21 JUN 2024

Paul McCartney will perform at Co-op Live on December 14 and 15, 2024

Tickets for Paul McCartney's first shows in Manchester in 13 years will go on sale today (June 21).

The Beatles legend will bring his acclaimed Got Back tour to the city's Co-op Live later this year on Saturday, December 14 and Sunday , December 15. He will also perform at The O2 in London on Wednesday, December 18 and Thursday, December 19 as part of the only four UK dates announced.

The tour - which will go on sale via Ticketmaster here - will also mark the first time the singer, 82, has performed in the UK since headlining Glastonbury back in 2022. He also last performed in London six years ago.

READ MORE: Paul McCartney tour 2024 - how to get tickets, pre-sale and full list of dates

Announced last week, a number of fans were lucky enough to get Co-op member or O2 Priority codes for access to Wednesday's pre-sale (June 19). But the pre-sale was met with concerns from fans who struggled to get through the online booking system in time to get tickets.

Today's general sale, which begins at 10am, is expected to see even more demand for the exclusive shows - particularly as the Manchester shows are currently the only shows in the north scheduled.

Sir Paul McCartney will be performing four shows in the UK in December - marking his first gigs in Manchester in 13 years

Paul launched his Got Back tour in 2022, which saw him complete 16 shows across the UK. Last year, the tour made its way across the likes of Australia, Mexico and Brazil. Last month, the singer announced the show would be continuing to hop around the world, with shows in France and Spain this year.

One of the most successful singer-songwriters and performers of all time, Paul is behind classics like Hey Jude, Live and Let Die, Band on the Run and Let It Be. The shows are expected to feature many of his solo hits, alongside beloved treasures from The Beatles and Wings back catalogues.

Tickets for Paul McCartney's UK 2024 tour will go on sale at 10am on Friday, June 21. Tickets here.

Follow our live blog below for the latest updates and for the latest advice and guidance on how to get tickets.

End of live blog

We believe that, besides a few resale tickets, the four shows are now sold out. We are waiting for official confirmation, and some tickets may become available throughout the day, but we're going to end the live blog here.

We'll provide you with any further updates as we get them.

'Are you serious?': Fans react to prices of tickets

Today's general sale has been met with high demand with fans expressing disappointment and shock at the price of tickets, with some options costing up to £600 for the UK shows. Fans have also reported getting 'stuck' in the online queues for tickets.

On the price of a ticket, the cheapest options available for the two dates have ranged from £30.95 to £182.95 for standard options. However, fans online have been sharing ticket prices ranging from £429.10 for section 312 in the Co-op Live arena, to £592.25 for section 104 on the Sunday, 15 December show.

What happens now if I can't get tickets?

When a really popular event goes on sale, tens of thousands of people are trying to buy tickets at the same time. As Ticketmaster can process hundreds of bookings at once, tickets to extremly popular shows often go within minutes.

If you're unlucky with getting tickets when they first go on sale, Ticketmaster always advises checking back to the website nearer to the day of the show. There's always the chance that more tickets could be released once the stage layout has been confirmed - although this isn't a gaurentee, either.

Why do the ticket prices vary on Ticketmaster?

The prices vary on Ticketmaster depending on the location of the seat. If you're closer to the stage with a better view you can generally expect to pay a little bit more.

Ticketmaster also offers dynamic pricing on its Platinum seats, according to their market value. This means they are often more expensive if the seats are in higher demand.

Ticketmaster has previously said the system is in place to try to stop touts, and to give more money to artists. But many fans are unappy with the system as it means the tickets often go for a lot more. Platinum tickets are not in place for all gigs, but were on offer for Paul Mccartney's Manchester shows, before they all got snapped up.

Looks like London's shows have sold out

AXS is showing no tickets for the two London gigs, with a message saying: "There are currently no tickets available."

A notification now also appears on the ticket screen saying there are 'no available' tickets.

paul mccartney uk tour 2022 tickets

What's the difference between standard and platinum Ticketmaster tickets?

Ticketmaster offers standard and Platinum tickets. Platinum tickets are premium tickets made available by artists and event organisers through Ticketmaster.

While Platinum tickets 'gives fans access to the best tickets' they aren't part of a package, say, a VIP package, so you're just paying more for the seat for its visibilty to the stage. Curently, Platinum tickets aren't available for all events, but they are available for Paul McCartney's two Manchester shows.

Section 313 tickets going for over £400

There was a slight oversight when we got through to the checkout screen for the night two show, and failed to see this....

Tickets in section 313 are available for £418.60 each.

These are classed as 'official platinum tickets', but do not include any additional benefits to standard tickets. On its website, Ticketmaster says these "are premium tickets made available by artists and Event Organisers through Ticketmaster. They give fans safe and fair access to some of the most in-demand tickets."

People still struggling

Dianne has tweeted that she was able to get through to the ticket selection screen and chose a pair of tickets, before....they disappeared.

Arghhh I can’t believe it, I finally got through and the map showed literally the final two tickets at @TheCoopLive for @PaulMcCartney right near the stage - but it just froze when I tried to click on them. £193.95 each though c’mon pic.twitter.com/Xn7qEXjBVE — Dianne Bourne (@diannebourne) June 21, 2024

Some lucky fans have managed to snag tickets

It's not all doom and gloom, though. Some lucky Paul McCartney fans have managed to secure gig tickets to both Manchester and London shows.

Writing on X, one user said: "I got tickets to Paul McCartney on both stops of his UK tour. What a day."

Limited availability for night two in Manchester

Just got through to the ticket selection screen for the second night at Co-op Live and the cheapest available tickets, in section 104, were available for £592.25 each, whilst section 110 tickets were available for £154.95.

None of the £30 seats were available to choose from.

There are already tickets available to purchase on resale sites such as Viagogo

There are already tickets available to purchase on resale sites such as Viagogo. Ticket prices vary from £295 and £934.

With these sites, customers are always buying at thier own risk. Many venues can void tickets if they were found to be purchased second hand.

But, Viagogo says it is a ‘regulated marketplace where fans have the guarantee’, but fans attending live events with tickets acquired through resale websites are always advised to double check the ticket terms and conditions at the point of sale - such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation - to ensure a smooth live event experience.

'It's gone absolutely crazy'

Mark Maguire, Labour candidate for Castle Point in Essex, has also been trying this morning to get tickets for the Paul McCartney shows.

He's said that the cheapest option available to him were £655.70 each, and added that its 'something that needs addressing'.

I've just got to the front of the queue for Paul McCartney tickets. They're £655.70 per ticket.... This is something that needs addressing asap. It's gone absolutely crazy. #PaulMcCartney — Mark Maguire (@MarkMaguireX) June 21, 2024

Warning issued to fans

Fans have been notified via a pop-up that there is significant demand for the shows.

The warning informs that ticket availability is now 'extremely limited'.

'£655 a ticket is beyond unreasonable. People obviously pay it but it's completely unfair'

More fans have taken to social media to express their dissapointment over the expensive ticket prices.

One user mentioned: "Spent 40 minutes in a Ticketmaster queue to see Paul McCartney in December only to find out that the prices were £655 per person, a price which is beyond unreasonable. People obviously pay it but it's completely unfair."

'Something needs to change'

Some fans have still been unable to secure tickets. One fan tweeted said 'something needs to change' in regards to Ticketmaster's allocation system.

They said: "Ticketmaster has become one of the worst companies ever. All these fake touts too. Something needs to change. No disability option either. #CoopLive shame on you."

'Feeling cheated and disappointed'

Some fans said they were able to get through to the ticket selection screen, but have been unable to get through.

One fan wrote that they felt 'cheated and disappointed' over the experience this morning.

Could first Manchester show be sold out?

We've just managed to get through to the ticket selection screen for the first Manchester show, but it's not letting us select any tickets.

It says 0 tickets are available. But not sure if that's an issue with the site, or whether it has now sold out. We'll keep an eye out for any updates from Ticketmaster.

'My queue position hasn't changed in 10 minutes'

One social media user is still 'frozen in the queue' after 10 minutes.

This checks out as we haven't budged from position 15,190 in a while either.

The waiting room is now open

The waiting room is now live, with around five minutes until tickets go on sale. Ticketmaster recommends you stay signed in to your account for the entire sale to maximum success of getting tickets.

They also recoomend keeping your browser window open until the order confirmed. Plus, use only one account to purchase your tickets.

Why not Liverpool?

When Paul McCartney announced dates for his UK tour - which will include two shows in Manchester and two in London - his hometown crowd weren't too pleased.

With Liverpool being so closely linked to The Beatles, it had been hoped Paul would have announced at least one Liverpool show.

One tweet read: "After the feel good factor of the Taylor Swift gigs this feels like a massive kick in the plums for Liverpool and its live music reputation."

You can read about the reaction here.

15 minutes heads up!

We're just about 15 minutes away from tickets going up for sale, so now is the time to make sure you're ready if you're aiming to try your chance at getting some seats to the show.

It's expected that tickets will cost between £30 and £180, but this has not yet been confirmed.

You'll also want to log into your ticket platform, and have your card details handy for when you get to the check-out.

Where can I get tickets if they sell out?

Fans who are no longer able to attend the Paul McCartney shows will either be able to transfer their tickets to friends and family through Ticketmaster's offical transfer platform or resell them on secondary websites such as Twickets, Vivid Seats and Viagogo .

With that in mind, Viagogo says it is a ‘regulated marketplace where fans have the guarantee’, but fans attending live events with tickets acquired through resale websites are always advised to double check the ticket terms and conditions at the point of sale - such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation - to ensure a smooth live event experience.
