Nearly three years after Kiss announced the final leg of what was supposed to be their final trek, the band has plotted the final final string of dates on their End of the Road Tour .

Trumpeted as “the absolute final shows of their final tour,” the farewell leg kicks off Oct. 29 in Austin, Texas and hits arenas across the U.S. and Canada before the makeup comes off — for good? — with a two-night stand at Kiss’ hometown Madison Square Garden in New York.

“Kiss was born in New York City. On 23rd Street. Half a century ago. It will be a privilege and honor to finish touring at Madison Square Garden, 10 blocks and 50 years from where we first started,” the band said of the final two gigs, Dec. 1 and 2, at the World’s Most Famous Arena.

KISS Officially Announce Final Date of Their Farewell Tour During ‘Howard Stern Show’ Appearance

During a highly publicized appearance on  The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM, KISS have officially announced the final show of their End of the Road farewell tour, which will take place on Dec. 2 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, the second of back-to-back nights. They've also unveiled a new batch of North American stops leading up to the finale.

There had been other proposed end dates for the rock legends just on this tour alone (which began in 2018) with manager Doc McGhee floating a couple loose timelines before declaring earlier this year that KISS will indeed put on their final tour performance in 2023.

Notably, this trek is not the first time the group has made an attempt to retire and there will surely be speculation about the legitimacy of this announcement.

Considering the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers booked a set of 2023 U.K. dates and mentioned it'd be their last shows in the region, it really does appear that KISS are winding down their 50-year touring career with lone mainstays Paul Stanley having turned 71 earlier this year and Gene Simmons set to turn 74 this summer.

The band specifically noted this is the end of the farewell tour, leaving the door open for other opportunities such as one-off shows, residencies or festival appearances. Only time will tell.

See all of KISS' upcoming tour dates at their website and for your chance to see them, perhaps for the final time, get tickets here .

See the latest tour dates directly below and look for those tickets to go on sale on March 10 at 10AM local time at Live Nation . A KISS Army pre-sale will begin on March 6 at 10AM local time.

Watch KISS Perform In Fort Worth During Final Leg Of 'End Of The Road' Tour

The Tom Bachonski   YouTube channel has uploaded video of KISS 's October 27 concert at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Check out the clips below.

KISS 's final runs of shows will wrap up in early December with a massive concert in the city where it all began for the legendary rock act. New York City has been a part of the band's ethos and storyline for more than four decades, so they felt it fitting to culminate an iconic Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame -worthy career on stage at New York's famed Madison Square Garden.

KISS launched its farewell trek in January 2019 but was forced to put it on hold in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"End Of The Road" was originally scheduled to conclude on July 17, 2021 in New York City but has since been extended to late 2023. The trek was announced in September 2018 following a KISS performance of the band's classic song "Detroit Rock City" on "America's Got Talent" .

Last month, KISS frontman Paul Stanley told Australia's "The Project" about "End Of The Road" : "Well, it's interesting because we can see the end now. When we started to plan this, it was probably about five years ago and the pandemic came into play and we lost a few years. We've done 250 shows on this 'End Of The Road' tour, because it's a long road, and they kept paving more road. But this is it for us. And intellectually, yeah, we go, we can't continue doing this. We're in our 70s; hard to believe. But for us, it's just reached a point where we realize we can't do this indefinitely. We're really at the top of our game still. And now's the time to do a victory lap and go out there with our heads held high and say thank you to everybody and do a show that really encapsulates and really pays tribute not only to us but to the fans."

KISS 's current lineup consists of original members Stanley (guitar, vocals) and Gene Simmons (bass, vocals),alongside later band additions, guitarist Tommy Thayer (since 2002) and drummer Eric Singer (on and off since 1991).

Formed in 1973 by Stanley , Simmons , Peter Criss and Ace Frehley , KISS staged its first "farewell" tour in 2000, the last to feature the group's original lineup.

In a separate interview with Gulf News , Stanley addressed the fact that he and his bandmates have never allowed their concert theatrics to overshadow the music.

"I always say this: a crappy band with a big show is a crappy band," he explained. "We didn't start as a band with everything. We started as a band making music we listened to. When I was young, I saw LED ZEPPELIN , I saw Jimi Hendrix twice and I saw all the greats. They inspired me. And it was never about being a part of a band with make-up and [fireworks] … Our music doesn't need intellectualizing or philosophizing."

Stanley added: "I know there are entertainers right now who can draw bigger crowds, but I don't know if they are going to in the next 50 years. We have done that. Our devoted fan base is almost like a tribe … We don't make art that is intellectual; we make art that's emotional … That's why people remember their first KISS concert, their first KISS song, and they remember when KISS first came on the radio. It's a powerful connection."

Two years ago, Stanley told Classic Rock magazine that "one of the best things about early KISS songs is that they really were uninhibited and very much from the gut: we had nothing to live up to, except doing what turned us on."

"Over time you can learn too much: you might become a better songwriter, but sometimes it's the freedom of naivety that makes for the best result," he concluded.

Kiss Announces Final Dates for End of the Road Farewell Tour

Kiss has announced that they will conclude their End of the Road farewell tour with two December 2023 shows at New York City's Madison Square Garden.

Paul Stanley revealed that the band will perform at their hometown's most famous venue on Dec. 1 and 2 during an appearance on the Howard Stern Show . That will be just shy of 51 years after they played their first show on Jan. 30, 1973, at the Popcorn Club in nearby Queens. Kiss announced 17 other new North American shows today, beginning Oct. 29 in Austin, Texas. You can see the full list of confirmed dates below.

Kiss launched the End of the Road Tour in January 2019, putting the trek on pause in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and resuming in the summer of 2021. The face-painted rockers have logged hundreds of shows on the tour, and in June 2022, Gene Simmons revealed that they wanted to add another 100 dates to the itinerary.

"We don't know [when the tour will end]. We've never retired before. This is our first time," Simmons told Chaoszine . "It's like painting a painting or writing a book. When somebody says, 'When is it gonna be finished?' You're in the middle of it; you don't know." He added, "The crew is happy. Everybody's happy. So we've decided to add another 100 cities before we stop. I don't know how long that's gonna take."

Stanley recently echoed his bandmate's sentiments. "We're far from done. I'd like to say that this is the end of the road, but they keep paving more road," he told UCR  last December. "The only people that seems to bother are the people who hate us. Quite honestly, they've never mattered and they still don't. The people who want to see us are thrilled. The people who wish we'd go away are going to have to wait. And in one form or another, we're never gonna go."

KISS announces a final extension to its ‘End of the Road’ farewell tour

The legendary rock band Kiss has announced its final tour dates, taking a spin across North America and ending with a final bow in New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

The “End of the Road Tour" lists 19 shows, kicking off Oct. 29 in Austin, Texas; hitting stops in California, Washington, Illinois and Canada; and closing with two final shows in New York City on Dec. 1 and 2.

The iconic rockers, who kicked off their career in New York City, said ending the tour in Manhattan will bring their careers full circle.

“KISS was born in New York City. On 23rd Street. Half a century ago. It will be a privilege and honor to finish touring at Madison Square Garden, 10 blocks and 50 years from where we first started,” the band said.

The band’s lineup includes two original members, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, along with drummer Eric Singer and guitarist Tommy Thayer. Some of the band's biggest hits are “I Was Made for Lovin’ You,” “Rock and Roll All Nite,” “Detroit Rock City” and “Heaven’s on Fire”

Tickets go on presale March 6.

I Have Only Been Going To Concerts Since The End Of 2017 and I've Already Seen Many Of My Favourites And I Have Always Wanted To See Kiss as they are One if not My top favourite band of All Time and after seeing them for the first and only time last night in London i can say without a doubt it was and is (I Stand By My Word When I say This) the best thing i have ever been to in possibly my entire lifetime (not kidding) There will never be another band like Kiss The Stage setup, timing with the pyro etc was outstanding as you expect from kiss, and the finale was awesome I have been a fan Of Paul Stanley For years and my favourite thing to watch him do is when he smashes his guitar at the end of the show, it made me so happy to see it live in person i got emotional, like i said you'll regret it when Kiss is No Longer About, No One Does A Live Show Like Kiss and if this is indeed the Final Tour they indeed went out with a bang And il'l Never forget it.

The End of the Road Tour stopped in Ottawa last night. It was almost painful to watch. They should no longer be playing back to back shows, Paul Stanley's voice is done. It was clear that he is using backup vocals. There were times when you'd hear his voice but he was not at his mic. Tommy Thayer is not Ace Frehley that much was obvious. The show appeared clumsy and disorganized at times. The setlist needs some tweaking, not a very good sampling of their entire catalog. They often at times seemed like they were just collecting a paycheque. Gene and Paul say they couldn't depend on Ace and Peter but Ace simply cannot be replaced. This tour will suffer because of this.

Thank you for caring enough to see if we enjoyed our time at the Kiss concert on 3-26-19. This is the first concert I’ve ever been to here and the first concert my sons have ever been to. Most of all this was a birthday gift to my husband. I have to say Kiss is amazing. Your staff and cleanliness was amazing for such a big place. Great job!!! But I do have to say I was very disappointed in our seats. We had so much obstruction from the jumbo tron and poles from our seats. It hugely impacted how much of the show or what we could see of the show.

So instead of a great visual and audible experience, it was more audible with some glimpses of the huge screen and some stage. I wish as I purchased these tickets I was shown where the poles and equipment were going to be because I bought these tickets the first day they were opened to purchase and there were many seats in that price range to purchase at the time. I would have definitely purchased different seating for the same money. I could send you pictures of what we saw from our seating, if you would like to see them. Just sad...again I do appreciate you actually reaching out to us about our experience and actually I’m very impressed. Keep up the great work and cleanliness, because we were very surprised on how amazingly cared for the TD Garden was taken care of and again nice staff. Obviously great management. I also appreciate you reaching out to us, again Great customer service. Thank you Traci Mahar
