About Conferences & Visitor Services Conferences & Visitor Services (C&VS) is a unit in the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Maryland. C&VS is a one-stop shop that coordinates campus meeting facilities and the services of university departments for conferences and events during both the summer and the academic year.  In addition, C&VS offers meeting planning and registration services to programs hosted by the University of Maryland.

Fall Computer Science Prospective Student Workshops ( run by the CS Department )

Learn more about the Computer Science major at the University of Maryland in a 50-minute information session from academic advisors with an opportunity for a Q&A session with current Computer Science students. The in-person workshops will include a 45 minute walking tour of the Brendan Iribe Center for Computer Science and Engineering. Workshops will take place on campus at 2 p.m. on 9/27, 10/25, and 11/8. Virtual Information Sessions

All prospective first-year and transfer students are invited to join us for a virtual information session about the A. James Clark School of Engineering.  All sessions include an overview of our majors, minors, research opportunities, student services, and more. Sessions run approximately for one hour and do not include an in-person tour . They are conducted by Clark School Ambassadors, current engineering students within the College, who will be able to answer your questions about the admissions process, student life, and all things in between!  Meet a few of our Clark School Ambassadors .

Interested in attending an in-person tour of a few of our engineering facilities? Register for one of the dates listed below.  All tours will run approximately for an hour.    We cannot guarantee that a specific departmental lab will be available on the day of your tour . Additionally, it is highly encouraged that you attend a virtual information session prior to participating in an in-person engineering facilities tour.

All prospective students are also invited to join us for Meet Maryland Engineering on Friday, October 18, 2024. You'll have the opportunity to speak one-on-one with current engineering students and staff from all of our Clark School departments as well as our Student Affairs and Academic Success Programs . Learn more about joining the Clark School, our majors, student support programs, scholarships, and student life. Engineering facilities tours will also be offered throughout the event.

Due to capacity restrictions of the labs, we ask that you adhere to the visitor limit of two persons per family (i.e. student plus one additional guest).

What is Admitted Student Open House? As an admitted student, we invite you to join us at one of our Admitted Student Open Houses. We’ll be hosting three on-campus and one virtually. Registration is required and space is limited for our on-campus events.

Throughout the day you’ll learn more about your admitted major/college and any special programs you may have been invited to; meet faculty, staff and current students; and explore unique student experiences and campus resources.

Registration for Fall 2025 Admitted Student Open Houses will open in Spring 2025 .
