Rapid Antigen test result can be used to travel to the USA, Italy, Germany, UK, & more. PCR & Express PCR tests are valid for all international travel. Including: China and Hong Kong
Rapid Antigen testing shows current COVID-19 infection.

Rapid Antigen Test is good for:

- Have flu or allergy symptoms and would like to test if they have COVID-19. Antigen tests often become positive only after the individual has had symptoms for a couple of days.
- Received a COVID Alert app exposure notification.
- A resident or worker in a setting that has a COVID-19 outbreak, as identified by your local public health unit
- Before returning to Work or School
The Covid-19 test for international travel
PCR Tests detect genetic material from the virus SARS-CoV-2 which causes the disease Covid-19. RT-PCR and Express RT-PCR tests are considered the gold standard when it comes to accurately testing Covid-19 and are accepted in every country for international travel.
While PCR tests can accurately detect current infection, it’s not as fast as the rapid antigen test. Typically an Express PCR test takes 6 hours, while the regular PCR test takes 24 hours. Both tests are accepted for all international travel except China/Hong Kong.

What will happen if I test positive for Covid-19?
You must stay at home for seven days from the day your symptoms begin. If your temperature goes on for longer than seven days, you should keep yourself quarantined till you get symptom free for 48 hours.
Corporates should inform their manager of the positive test and any additional advice given by NX Healthcare. Everybody in your household should remain self-isolated for 14 days from when your symptoms started. If they start to show symptoms, they will have to continue self isolating for 7 days from onset of symptoms.
If you do not feel well enough, you will feel the following symptoms
- Temperature more than 37.8°C if checked with a thermometer, or sweats/shivers and similar symptoms
- Regular and persistent cough (with or without sputum), gruffness, nasal release or congestion, breath shortness, sore throat, gasping, sneezing
- Loss of smell with or without headache
Symptoms, especially the cough, can persist for several weeks; however, the cough does not stop you from going back to work. If anyone has alarms about an ongoing cough, they should contact their GP as soon as possible.
Is there a specific age bracket on the swabs, what age is it suitable for?
There is no age limit. If the swab fits in the nose, it can be used as instructed.
- Adults aged 18 and over
- Teenagers aged 12 to 17
- Children 11 and under
Can you define the test?
It involves taking a swab from the nose and the throat. It’s very simple.
Is my information secure?
If I have start ed to feel better, should I still get the test?
It totally depends on how strong your immune system is, there are a lot of individuals who still carry virus well into the second or even third week.
Would the test reveal if I have had the virus before ?
The test is only for viruses and not antibodies so it will not reveal whether you have previously had the virus or not.
What factors have the greatest impact on false-positive rates?
Positive analytical result is the possibility that the person most likely has the infection. Pre-test probability has the highest effect on false-positive rates. As the pre-test probability test rises, the false-positive rate decreases and the positive predictive value increases.
What factors have the greatest impact on false-negative rates?
Negative analytical result is the possibility that the individual who has a negative test result most likely does not have the virus. Pre-test probability and test sensitivity have the highest effect on false-negative scales. As the pre-test probability decreases, the false-negative rate decreases and the negative predictive value increases.
Can a CT Scan detect how much viral genetic material is present in the patient?
A Ct Scan does not specify how much virus is present in an individual, but only whether or not viral genetic material was detected at a definite threshold.
Can someone test negative and later test positive for COVID-19?
Yes, It happens because either the test did not detect the virus earlier or because you were infected after the test was done.
Are there any side effects from being tested?
There is no proof to recommend the COVID-19 diagnostic test causes any side effects.
What documents are required to undergo the Covid 19 testing?
You will need to provide your passport number. It will appear on your travel certificate.

Diphtheria, tetanus and polio
A single shot of Revaxis will boost your body’s defences against diphtheria, tetanus and polio, three dangerous diseases. You may already be protected under the Canadian vaccine schedule – but a booster may be needed every decade or so. See Canadian Travel Clinics’ vaccine pages for more information about diphtheria, tetanus and polio .
Hepatitis A
Travellers can contract hepatitis A through contaminated food and water. It causes inflammation of the liver. Canadian Travel Clinics can administer a course of hep A vaccine shots that will give 25 years of protection.
Hepatitis B
The viral liver disease hepatitis B is a risk for certain travellers. A course of the vaccine provides long-term protection from hepatitis B.
Anyone travelling to Southeast Asia should ask whether they are at risk from Japanese encephalitis (JE) and, if so, take steps to avoid this mosquito-borne illness. JE is a viral disease that can leave patients with neurological damage. The Japanese encephalitis vaccine provides a good degree of protection, and needs to be supported by mosquito avoidance.
Meningococcal meningitis
About 5-10% of meningococcal meningitis patients die, often within 48 hours. It affects the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. The meningococcal meningitis vaccine is given in one shot and confers immunity for five years.
An untreated rabies infection results in death. Getting vaccinated against rabies gives you vital extra time to obtain medical help following a bite from an infected animal. The rabies vaccine will be recommended to travellers going to a country where rabies is endemic who plan to visit remote areas or work with animals.
Seek medical advice about any animal bite in a region where rabies is endemic, even if you have been vaccinated against rabies.
Tick-borne encephalitis
If you will be engaging in outdoor activities in Scandinavia, northern Asia and Eastern Europe, the nurse advisers at Canadian Travel Clinics may recommend a shot against tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) . This viral illness can leave patients with permanent neurological damage.
Typhoid, a contagious and sometimes fatal food-borne infection, is the result of Salmonella bacteria growing in the intestines and in the blood. The typhoid shot is recommended for travellers going to parts of the world with poor sanitation. Canadian Travel Clinics can offer typhoid vaccination as a shot or an oral vaccine. It is also available in combination with the vaccine for hepatitis A, which can represent good value for money for some travellers.
Yellow fever
A shot of the vaccine can protect against yellow fever for life. Along with your shot you will get an international certificate of yellow fever vaccination. Keep this card safe as you will need it to enter some countries. Talk to your travel health adviser to find out whether this applies to your itinerary before you leave Canada. Our travel vaccination centres in Toronto (Etobicoke) and Calgary have been designated as yellow fever vaccination centres by the public health agency of Canada.
