Find Your Cruise with the New Cruise Plotter Interactive Map

Test drive the new Cruise Plotter.

Pick a port or destination and Cruise Plotter takes you there.

This site contains affiliate links for which we may be compensated.

Okay, I’ll admit that I’m fairly savvy in knowing what ship is going where and when…but only generally speaking, of course. No one can memorize thousands of itineraries and the ships that go there.

When I learned about Cruise Plotter (developed by the British company, DealChecker.co.uk) and checked it out, I thought it was a very clever and fun way to search for a cruise vacation.

Only a couple of clicks away . Arrive at a cute interactive map that displays more than 200 cruise destinations around world and thousands of cruises from which to choose.

Always a skeptic, I cross-checked the results with a few cruise lines just to make sure that what I found on the Cruise Plotter was accurate. And it was.

Here’s how it works. To reach the Cruise Plotter, go to:   http://www.dealchecker.co.uk/cruise/cruise-plotter/

Once there, click, “Explore” and you’re at the Cruise Plotter map.

Cruise Plotter by DealChecker

Select a region or a port and from there it’s self-explanatory. For example, click the little orange ship icons for Caribbean and then Eastern Caribbean.

Choose the Caribbean region that you'd like to visit.

Another map pops up, this time showing the individual islands and another set of ship icons. Pick and island and voila! On the right-hand side of your screen is a list of cruises on Eastern Caribbean itineraries that include the particular.

All the islands on an Eastern Caribbean cruise are displayed

On the left side of your screen, is the ability to update your search. Using sliders, it’s possible to select your cruise by price, date, length and/or cruise line.

Pick from either side of the screen to narrow down the selection and choose your cruise.

What cruise lines are included? During my test run, I counted at least twelve different cruise lines offered among the various itineraries. These included:

  • Holland America
  • Royal Caribbean
  • StarClippers

When you find a cruise that you like, just click on More Info and then Visit Provider. You’ll be taken to a full-view screen with detailed information about that particular cruise with more information, prices and the option to enquire for more info.

End result screen and you can drill down even further or contact the particular cruise seller.

Since DealChecker.co.uk is exactly that…a deal checker, you can compare deals from a handful of different travel agencies.

Curious? Head over to the Cruise Plotter and test drive this newest cruise finder tool. It’s fun, interesting and a great way to plan your next cruise.

Cruise Ship Tracker, Live Map Ship Tracking | 9

Cruise Ship Tracker

AIS ship tracking is a great way to stay up-to-date on the location of marine vessels. Using the AIS system, you can track the progress of a ship as it travels from port to port. This information can be beneficial for planning your  travel  itinerary and following your ship during your cruise vacation. Every cruise line follows its vessels to keep tabs on their time of arrival and current position as well as other items that might cause delays, such as weather or other marine traffic.

Want to stay up-to-date on cruise ship locations?

The AIS system is a network of transponders that sends information like ship name, location, course, and speed. This data can be used to track the progress of a cruise ship as it travels from port to port.

What Cruise Lines and Cruise Ships are tracked?

All of the world’s cruise lines use the AIS system to track each cruise ship in their fleet using updated data. It helps large vessels like cruise ships, and others know each other’s current location, speed, heading, routes, etc. You can look up a specific cruise ship or focus on a particular fleet from your favorite cruise line. Of course, this system also can show many other vessels such as cargo ships, pilots, yachts, passenger ferries, and many more.

Automatic Identification System (AIS)

The Automatic Identification System, or AIS, is a system used by ships and other vessels to identify each other and transmit their locations. This information can be used to track the progress of a cruise ship as it travels from port to port. The data transmitted by AIS includes the vessel’s name, course, speed, destination, ship type, and any safety-related messages. It also provides an indication of the vessel’s size, type, cargo, and maneuverability. The system also uses a network of base stations located on shore.

Vessel Traffic Services (VTS)

The vessel traffic services (VTS) system is used mainly for monitoring and controlling maritime traffic in an area of specific importance. With its modern  technology , it enables the authorities to observe, analyze, and coordinate the movement of vessels within a designated area. The system consists of various communication channels such as radar, AIS, VHF radio, and satellite.

Cruise Ship Tracker

Real-Time Cruise Ship Tracking Map

Today people are  cruising  more and more. The cruise lines make a great effort to offer passengers an enjoyable and safe experience. With AIS ship tracking, cruise lines can better manage their growing fleet. Cruise lines also have state-of-the-art fleet operation centers that enable real-time information sharing between the centers and the fleet. The fleet operation centers focus on more than just the ship’s location but also Nautical Operations & Safety, Procedural Optimization & Efficiency, and Sustainability.

What is Cruise Ship Tracking?

Cruise ship tracking is a technology that allows cruise lines to monitor their vessels in real time. AIS (Automatic Identification System) has become the standard for ship tracking, as it broadcasts the position of a vessel every few minutes. This data can be received by any receiver with an AIS system and can be used to track the progress of not only cruise ships but, other passenger vessels, cruise ferries, and even container ships. Modern vessel tracking allows authorities to see the positions of vessels in real-time. This might help you get a package on  time or in the case of cruises , plan for any delays arriving in a port.  Shore excursions  can be re-scheduled if needed well before the day arrived if a delay due to weather or another incident occurred.

What benefits of Cruise Ship Tracker?

By using the AIS ship tracking system, you can gain valuable insights about cruise ships and other vessels. The real-time data received from the AIS system allows you to stay up to date on the current location of a cruise ship, its speed, and its heading. This is great for  planning your own cruise itinerary  or just staying informed on the progress

Types of Ships Listed

The cruise ship tracking system provides real-time data for all types of vessels, not just cruise ships. This data includes a wide  variety  of vessels such as cargo ships, pilots, yachts, passenger ferries and many more. This means that you can track any vessel that is using the AIS system and receive detailed information about its current location and route.

Other Types of Ships

The AIS system also provides real-time data for many other types of vessels. This includes yachts, fishing boats, tugboats, and other recreational vessels.

Wonder of the Seas and Freedom of the Seas at Coco Cay

Popular Cruising Companies & Lines

The AIS ship tracking system can be used to track a wide variety of cruise lines and companies.  Popular cruising  companies such as the following:

  • Carnival Cruise line
  • Royal Caribbean International
  • Viking Cruises
  • P&O Cruises
  • Costa Cruises
  • Marella Cruises
  • AIDA Cruises
  • Phoenix Reisen
  • American Cruise Lines

This means you can keep up with the current location of your favorite cruise ship as it sails around the world. All modern cruise lines use the AIS system for fleet tracking to schedule port arrivals and make changes due to weather conditions in real time.

Safety and Security with Cruise Ship Tracker

The AIS ship tracking system provides an extra layer of security and safety for fleets. Not only can the system provide real-time data on the location of a vessel, but it also allows for quick response times to any potential emergencies that may arise. Cruise lines are able to use this data to better manage their fleets and respond quickly if necessary.

Environmental Benefits

The AIS ship tracking system can also provide environmental benefits. By monitoring the progress of vessels, cruise lines, and other fleets can better optimize their routes for fuel efficiency. This means that by using the AIS system, ships can reduce their fuel consumption and emissions, resulting in a greener fleet.

Viking Star

Can you track every cruise ship?

No, not every cruise ship can be tracked. Some cruise ships may not have an AIS system installed, and therefore cannot be tracked. Additionally, some countries may restrict the broadcast of AIS data for security or other reasons. For these reasons, it is essential to double-check the availability of AIS data before attempting to track a specific cruise ship.

United States Coast Guard Regulations

The United States Coast Guard requires all ships operating in US waters to have an AIS system installed. This means that all cruise ships visiting the United States must have an AIS system installed and active at all times. This requirement ensures that all vessels are visible and traceable while in US waters, allowing for improved safety and security.

Emergency Situations

In the event of an emergency, AIS ship tracking can be used to quickly locate and contact a vessel in distress. By using the system, search and rescue teams can quickly and accurately locate vessels in need of assistance. This can mean the difference between life and death in some cases.

Cruise Ship Tracker, Live Map Ship Tracking | 9

View Vessel Photos

Vessel  Photos  are listed for most ships, in addition to providing real-time tracking data, the AIS system can also provide vessel photos. This allows you to quickly and easily identify any vessels in the vicinity of your chosen port. The photos can be used to check for damage or other irregularities before boarding a vessel. Use Caribbean Maps to See Where Your Cruise Is Going

cruise ship itinerary maps

U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)/Wikimedia Commons/Public Domain

A Caribbean map of all the islands and countries visited by Caribbean cruise ships can be useful in planning your cruise or finding the ports and distances to interesting sites nearby.

The sunny Caribbean, filled with marvelous beaches and crystal blue waters, is the most popular destination for cruise ships, with ships traveling to the eastern, western, and southern Caribbean. Many of the Caribbean itinerary ports are islands, but countries in North America, South America, and Central America all include Caribbean cruise ports of call.

This gallery of maps includes many of these Caribbean islands and countries of the Americas with Caribbean ports visited by cruise ships, along with the Bahamas, which are in the Atlantic Ocean but often included on Caribbean cruises.

A map of Bermuda, which is far from the Caribbean, but located about 600 miles off the mid-Atlantic coast of North Carolina in the USA, is also included since cruise lovers visit Bermuda for its beautiful beaches and sparkling waters, just like they do the Caribbean.

Antigua is a British island in the eastern Caribbean.

Aruba is a dry island in the southern Caribbean that is rarely affected by hurricanes.

The Bahamas are located in the Atlantic Ocean, less than 100 miles from Florida. Cruise ships often visit Nassau  or a private island like Half Moon Cay  or Castaway Cay .

Barbados is on the eastern edge of the Caribbean. The east coast of Barbados is in the Atlantic, and the west coast is in the Caribbean.

Belize is a small country in Central America which borders the Caribbean.

Bermuda is not in the Caribbean, although many of the photos look much like a Caribbean island.

Bermuda has picturesque beaches, crystal clear waters, and many similar attractions to the islands of the Caribbean. Since it is further north, cruise ships do not sail to Bermuda in the winter months.

British Virgin Islands (BVI)

Many sailboats visit the British Virgin Islands , and they are a favorite of small ship cruises. Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke are both terrific islands.

Netherlands Antilles

The Netherlands Antilles have a Dutch flavor, with St. Maarten being a frequent stopover for cruise ships. Smaller Saba is quaint, with a tiny airport.

Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands  of the western Caribbean are famous for great shopping, the stingrays that visit the island, a turtle farm, and the village of Hell.

Colombia is also included on cruises along the Pacific coast of South America between Lima and the Panama Canal. The main city visited by cruise ships is Cartagena.

Saint Barts

St. Bartholemy, which is usually called St. Barts , is trendy, glitzy and a favorite Caribbean island of the rich and famous.

Cruise ships visit Costa Rica from both the Caribbean and the Pacific.

Dominica is covered with lush vegetation and has wonderful hiking, tubing on the rivers, and "champagne" snorkeling.

Saint Martin/Saint Maarten

The Caribbean island of St. Maarten or St. Martin is very popular with cruise ships.

Dominican Republic

One of the friendliest islands in the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic has a laid-back vibe, but a supercharged nightlife scene.

Often called the Spice Island, Grenada is in the southeastern Caribbean. It has a beautiful rain forest, filled with monkeys.

Cruise ships visit Cozumel and Cancun in the Caribbean, the Mexican Riviera on the Pacific Ocean, and the Sea of Cortez off the Baja Peninsula.

The Panama Canal is one of the man-made marvels of the world, and a Panama Canal cruise is a "must see" for many cruisers. Panama has other interesting sites including Taboga Island, El Valle de Anton, and Panama City.

Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is one of the larger islands of the Caribbean, with many interesting things to do and see around the capital of San Juan.

Saint Kitts and Nevis

Saint lucia, st. vincent and the grenadines, turks and caicos.

The Turks & Caicos are found in the Atlantic near the Bahamas but are included on Caribbean cruise itineraries. Grand Turk is often a port of call.

U.S. Virgin Islands

The U.S. Virgin Islands of St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix are popular for shopping, history, and their natural beauty.

A Few Of Our Favourite Reviews

Fantastic Experience

Amazing idea ! This was my first cruise map after spotting these on an Emma Cruises blog. I really love the idea. I choose an older cruise from 2017 as it's the furthest one I had done. I love the fact that New Zealand is to the left of the map with the whole of the Pacific ocean showing.....NZ is usually to the right on world maps. This would be a great gift idea for people with memory issues to look at and enjoy. Imagine selling these on Cruise ships...the potential is endless !

Memory Captured!

Memory Captured. Mentioned in and because of an Emma Cruise vlog, we ordered a map of a Transatlantic cruise that we took in the fall of 2023. Although somewhat pricey, we are pleased with the finished product and have it hanging in our home with other travel photos. It's a nice memory of a once in a lifetime trip; and we would certainly recommend this to others as a nice gift or travel memento.

Amazing Memento

Thank you for an amazing memento from our unique cruise which was full of adventure. The map perfectly tracked our actual journey versus the original itinerary. The paper it was on is high end and it was packaged perfectly in a tube. From order to shipment to receipt, the process took less than 10 days. We love it and framed it immediately!!!

cruise ship itinerary maps

Sweet memories

I bought this map for my husband as a gift to remember our honeymoon. It's beautiful and very good quality. I had a problem with the shipping and reached to the customer service: they wrote me back in a few hours and solved the problem in a few days. Highly recommended for recalling good memories.

Queen Anne momento

I liked the idea of something unusual to remember what will probably be a once in a lifetime cruise, and I'm happy to say cruise maps have provided just that. We knew that the ship slows down and speeds up to maintain it's schedule, but to see we actually circled a couple of times was new to us. The quality and detail of the print is very good too, and the frame sets it off perfectly. We would definitely not hesitate in purchasing again should we go on another memorable cruise.

Great Product and Service

The team at the Cruise Maps responded straight away to my questions about mapping our Antarctica cruise. The ordering process was very easy, and 10 days later, we had our map (posted to Australia). A fantastic way to look back on the cruise of a lifetime, and share it with others as it takes pride of place on our wall.

I came across the website and thought what a great idea to have a map of our fantastic adventure to Antartica . I went online to order it and Polly came back with some information on whether we should have it in portrait or landscape and sent us pictures of how it would look in both which was very helpful . Picture arrived in excellent packaging 3 days after ordering and we are both very happy with purchase. Highly recommend this as a momentous of your trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there labels on the maps.

We include a written port label for every port that you stopped at on your cruise. (This is only registered ports, rather than every inlet, bay or cove that the ship may have visited.)

General place names (eg. countries) aren't labelled on the map because it would clutter the design too much and make it less attractive on your wall!

Can I see a preview of my map before purchasing?

We cannot send previews of maps before purchasing as every map is made to order, and making a preview is the same process as making the final product. However, we can send you a proof before we print your map, so you can check you are happy with it before we send it out to you. Please reply to your order confirmation email to request this.

How do you know my exact route and ports?

We use satellite ship-tracking data to show exactly where your cruise actually went, not where you were supposed to go! This data will include any diversions from your initial itinerary. We also use the time-stamps to work out your port-calls. When we can see your ship stopped for a significant period of time in a port, we mark a stop on your map.

Can you put multiple cruises on one map?

We don't display multiple cruise routes on the same map unless the voyages were on the same ship and back-to-back (second voyage started where & when first voyage ended). The large scale required to fit so many routes on one map means all detail in the individual routes themselves, is lost. Use code TWOMAPS15 for 15% off orders of 2+ maps 😊

Creating a map image of cruise stops

I wanted to create a map 'picture' of our cruise stops so that you could see where on the globe our cruise traveled (how many people could place Dubrovnik on a map? :-) and have it printed along with the pictures of the trip in a photobook of the cruise.

I was going to use Google Maps - My Maps - but found it difficult. I found scribblemaps which made it easier. The image below is from Scribblemaps for our upcoming Celebrity Century Med cruise.

I used the 'hybrid' map setting n it - the blue ocean will go good with the Med theme of the trip...:-)

Scribblemaps has a 'save as jpg' setting which makes it easy to get a copy of it, although the resolution is not that great (the photo book software I use (Mypublisher) gives me a warning about it.

Has anyone else done something similar? Is there better mapping tools to create a map image out there?

Yes, your GPS software is much better (unless you don't have one). Garmin's map print outs are very good quality.

Hey Karen - I have a Garmin GPS in my car but I don't understand how you would get a map from it to the PC or even get a print out from it. And then how would you annotate it?

And I don't really want a printout.

Ideally it would be a digital image for use in a photobook...

I'm not sure there's a quick and easy 1-step solution for what you're looking for. I think what you've already found with Scribblemaps is pretty good.

Looks like with Scribblemaps, you can create a JPEG image of the map with dimensions up to 1143 x 653 pixels (width x height). I'm not sure how large a photo you need for your photobook. Check to see what the dimensions are for your photobook (or, actually, the dimensions of the space that this photo map would be in your photo book). You might want to go to your local photo place and print the JPEG image using those same dimensions, just to see how well it prints out. If the print looks acceptable to you, then chances are it'll probably print just as well in your photobook.

If you've got a Garmin GPS unit for your car, you probably have a menu option that tells it to keep a track log . The track log is a simple text file containing a log all your GPS coordinates throughout your entire trip. Every few seconds, your Garmin will record your GPS coordinates into this track log.

If you're interested in viewing the track log, you can connect your Garmin GPS unit onto your computer. From there, you download the track log onto your computer.

At this point, the track log is still just a text file. To view the GPS coordinates on an actual map, you can use several mapping programs. I like to use Google Earth (a free software program from Google), where you can open your track log in Google Earth, and you get a visual plot of your trip on an actual map.

To save the map, I think the free version of Google Earth limits you to a 1000-pixel width (slightly smaller than the maximum width you can get with Scribblemaps). If you decide to buy Google Earth Pro ($399!), then you can save a 4800-pixel width image of your map, which should be plenty of pixels for your photo book.

You can also use online programs like GPS Visualizer ( http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/map_input?form=google ) to upload your track log, and it will produce a visual plot of your trip on Google Maps. With GPS Visualizer, you can specify how large a map you want it to create (ex. 2000-pixel width, and auto height). But then, I think you'd have to do a screen capture to actually save the image.

Once you get the image of your trip map, how do you add labels to it? I would probably bring it into Photoshop (or any similar image editing program) and add the labels manually onto the image.

I know there's probably an easier way of doing this, but that's probably how I personally would do it.

Hope that helps. Let us know what you end up doing.

You need a handheld. I don't think that the car models come with the Way Point Management software, unfortunately. They are high quality images.

I am glad you like it it is easy, and very useful. maps your trips as a cumulation of all trips and Categorises your individual tripsindividually also by color code to zoom into, adds natitical miles, airplane miles, train miles, car miles, etc, in your stats, it even has a blog built in if you wat to publish, has tips on your ports, even counts your contries, easy to use, easy to share, and free !!

I tried it, too. However, even when I indicate that I traveled between two points by boat, it draws a straight line. It has me getting from Naples to Kotor in a straight line across Italy and the Adriatic. Same for all cruise ports.

Do you happen to know what I can do to fix this? TiA.

zackiedawg

I don't do a 'per trip' map grid for photo collections either online or books - but I do like to keep a map of all of the locations I've traveled to in my life.  I keep an 'old fashioned' push-pin travel map board in the hall to my garage, covered in pins to all the cities or islands I've been to...it's more just for personal fun and tracking, and friends or family who come over and see it.

Yeah allot of my map lines also go through the country. I have not found a fix to this but overall I like the product, and on the overall map of the world it looks pretty decent, but I had to get allot of cruises on the map to achieve that.

Thanks

Thanks. I thought I was missing something. I appreciate knowing that (at least this time) it's not a problem with "the loose nut behind the wheel."

I just posted on their forum - hopefully I will get an answer from them !! Thanks !!

This is what I've got so far, with just our longer cruise trips from the past few years.

I prefer the rounded lines which don't cross over land and I always used the RCL itinerary maps, but it seems they have done away with those? Or are they just hidden and I missed them?

Hi, I use     www.polarsteps.com    easy to use...well I can do, so anyone can!!. I usually set up all the dates before I leave and then on holiday or after, I can add the photos and edit the text. Great to send links to friends and family who do not do Facebook.

If you want to see what it looks like...have a look at mine (am halfway through Cambodia and Vietnam now)

https://www.polarsteps.com/CHRNESBITT

Have fun and this is the time to do it, with us all on lock down!!   Chris

Just had a look at Polarsteps.

It's a bit strange, if you stay several days in one place and then continue to the next one, it counts the days your were in one place as travel time between the two places. Also, it automatically assumes you travel by plane. There should be a setting where you can define the transportation type.

On Radiance I found them on deck 6 near the Schooner Bar. . It was a large monitor with a slide show running. I took pix of all the maps. Here is one.

HjWCPmg.jpg

I now saw that my travel agent still has those maps I'm looking for.

I use them to create a trip itinerary I can hang on the door in my cabin.

Here is an example:

Sorry, just noticed that it was in Google Slides format, so I converted one into PDF, might be easier to look at.

It's written in german, but you'll get the picture... 🙂

Cruise port schedule, live map, terminals, news.

Burnie cruise port

Region Australia - New Zealand - Pacific Ocean Islands

Local Time 2024-09-10 13:52

Port Burnie cruise ship schedule shows timetable calendars of all arrival and departure dates by month. The port's schedule lists all ships (in links) with cruises going to or leaving from Burnie, Tasmania Australia. To see the full itineraries (ports of call dates and arrival / departure times) and their lowest rates – just follow the corresponding ship-link.

Burnie is a port city on Tasmania Island (Australia). It includes the city and its surrounding areas, although it doesn't include Somerset (a town usually classed as part of the metro area). The city has population around 30,000. Burnie and Devonport are northwestern Tasmania's largest seaports.

Port Burnie is the island's largest cargo port and also one of Australia's largest container ports. It is the nearest port to Melbourne Victoria (mainland Australia). The port is operated by the state-owned port authority company TasPorts. The port's main business is containerized cargoes, but also has a separate woodchip terminal.

Burnie is located on Emu Bay, at the mouth of Emu River on Tasmania Island's northern coast. The settlement was established in 1829 (as "Emu Bay Settlement") and in 1866 received its town status. Burnie is served by Sydney-Tasmania ferry and is also the commercial centre for northwestern Tasmania. Close by is Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, which incorporates Cradle Mountain with its lava peak rising to 1545 m (5069 ft).

The city's economy is based mainly on heavy manufacturing, forestry and farming industries, with Port Burnie being among its main sources of revenue. Since its opening in 1897, the Emu Bay Railway and the seaport are the most important means of transportation in the island's northwestern part.

Forestry was a major factor for the city's development in the 20th century. In 1938 was built a pulp and paper mill, followed by the construction of a woodchip terminal. The paper mill was closed in 2010.

As transportation, the city is served by Burnie Airport (located in Wynyard Town, approx 20-minute drive distance from Burnie). The 4-lane Bass Highway and a railway link the city with Devonport (northern Tasmania). Murchison Highway links the city with the island's western part. Metro Tasmania is the inner city bus service, also providing transportation to the suburbs., Redline Coaches offers daily bus services to nearby towns and Hobart .

Burnie cruise port statistics

During season 2016-2017, Tasmania ports served a total of 236,794 cruise ship tourists, which was a 45% increase over season 2015-2016. TasPorts handled a total of 95 cruise ship calls, including 22 in Port Arthur , 17 in Burnie , 6 in Wineglass Bay (located near Hobart , ranked among the world's top 10 beaches) and 1 at Flinders Island (in Bass Strait, located to the northeast of Tasmania).

For season 2018-2019, a total of 125 cruise liner calls were scheduled at ports Hobart and Burnie, another 29 in Port Arthur , and 6 to anchor off the island's east coast (Wineglass Bay / Freycinet National Park).

Following the COVID crisis, for season 2022-2023, Port Burnie had booked/scheduled a total of 33 cruise ship calls (out of Tasmania's total 148). TasPorts' cruise schedule displayed 78x visits for Hobart, 33x for Burnie, 23x for Port Arthur, 6x for Bell Bay, 6x for Coles Bay, 2x for Devonport .

Burnie cruise terminal

Port Burnie (Australia) is unique with its "greet & meet" volunteer program. The port also issues a newspaper specifically made for cruise ship passengers and crew.

Burnie Port provides free of charge bus shuttle transportation. This dedicated to arriving ships bus line transfers passengers from the cruise terminal to the Visitors Center (Little Alexander Street) or to the city center (Main Street). The port's shuttle bus service is the only way to both exit and enter the ship docking quay.
