Money, geography may be why Taylor Swift isn't touring in Canada

As superstar Taylor Swift continues to take the world by storm with her massively popular Eras Tour, there’s one country that’s being left out of the excitement – Canada.

Canadians were left heartbroken after the star announced her international tour dates, which didn’t include any Canadian cities.

Kevin Donnelly, senior vice president of venues and entertainment with True North Sports and Entertainment, said there is no big conspiracy surrounding why Swift is not coming to Canada.

“There are obviously many, many more cities that would like to have Taylor Swift come to visit them, but the decision-making process that they went through ended up without them stopping in Canada,” he said.

“I think the fans that want to see her are expected to go to those nearby markets, whether it’s Detroit or Chicago or Seattle or other places that are near the Canadian border that would be good targets for Canadian fans to go see her.”

Donnelly said that some of the factors that may deter artists from coming to Canada are money, the exchange rate, and whether certain venues are available.

“It’s a combination of the money available through the size of your venue, the currency you’re going to pay in, and the availability of that venue and the schedule of that performer,” he said.

Donnelly explained the easiest thing for Canadian markets is when an artist decides to schedule a number of Canadian dates together, as opposed to coming into the country for one show and then returning to the United States.

When it comes to Taylor Swift, Canada’s size and geography may also have played a role in why she’s not coming.

“In Taylor Swift’s case, because it’s multiple stadiums in very, very large cities, it would have been cross the border one time, play Toronto. There’s not a nearby stadium of that size that she can hit as well, so it’s one date in Toronto and out,” Donnelly said.

However, despite this disappointment, Donnelly said Canadians should try to stay optimistic.

“Just because it didn’t happen on this tour, doesn’t mean it won’t happen on a subsequent tour,” he said.

“She’s a young lady, of course, and hopefully there’s a long touring history ahead of her yet to be accomplished.”

The Eras Tour has dates scheduled in the United States, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Australia, France, and more.

When will Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour come to Montreal and Canada?

Snubbing Canada after adding dates to her Eras Tour, secret Swiftie Justin Trudeau extended a public invite to the singer.

Laura Osborne

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is no longer a secret fan of Taylor Swift.

Taking a break from running the country while potentially facing the end of his marriage , Justin Trudeau publicly tweeted an invitation to the superstar yesterday after Swift announced that she will be adding 14 more stops in Europe and the U.K. to her Eras Tour, featuring special guest Paramore, but no mention of Montreal or Canada.

Like Montreal didn't have enough hot topics to deal with.

Trudeau responded to Swift's announcement by cleverly paraphrasing lyrics from her own songs, imploring her to bring her Eras tour to Canada.

He wrote, "It's me, hi. I know places in Canada would love to have you. So, don't make it another cruel summer. We hope to see you soon."

It’s me, hi. I know places in Canada would love to have you. So, don’t make it another cruel summer. We hope to see you soon. — Justin Trudeau (@JustinTrudeau) July 6, 2023

While there are currently no scheduled dates for Swift’s international tour in Canada, the tour will take Swift across the globe to various locations including Mexico, Europe, Asia, and Australia over the next year—but seemingly snubs Canada.

Even the House of Commons is obsessed: Last month, Conservative MP Matt Jeneroux said last month he would file an "official" grievance "on behalf of all Swifties" in the country.

Taylor Swift adds more Canadian dates to record-breaking ‘Eras Tour’

By Michael Ranger

Taylor Swift will be making another stop north of the border as she continues her trek across the globe with her record-breaking The Eras Tour .

The pop superstar revealed Thursday that she will be playing three shows in Vancouver in 2024. The shows, presented by Rogers Communications Inc., will see Swift take the stage for three straight nights – Dec. 6, 7 and 8 at B.C. Place.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of bringing Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour to Vancouver, giving fans the experience of a lifetime,” said Terrie Tweddle, Chief Brand and Communications Officer at Rogers.

The Vancouver shows will come on the heels of six dates in Toronto. The announcement for the new West Coast dates comes almost exactly three months after Swift revealed her initial Canadian shows at Rogers Centre .

The three dates will be the first time Swift plays in Vancouver in nearly a decade. She last hit the stage at B.C. Place during her 1989 World Tour in August 2015.

Verified Fan registration is now open for the newly added Vancouver shows. Fans can register here until Saturday, Nov. 4, at 5 p.m.

Tickets go on sale on Nov. 9 and only fans who received an email confirming access will be able to join the queue. Selected fans will receive a unique access code and link via text message the day prior to to the Verified Fan Onsale.

Others will be waitlisted and could be given access if there is remaining inventory.

Rogers will be offering Canadians access to premium tickets for both the Toronto and Vancouver shows. More details on how fans across Canada can win tickets will be revealed soon.

“Rogers is all about connecting Canadians and bringing them the best content and best experiences, and Taylor is simply the best,” Tweddle said.

Minutes after the announcement of the Toronto shows went live, Ticketmaster reported “heavy traffic” on their Verified Fan webpage, which the platform says is meant as a protective measure against online scalper bots.

The Ticketmaster website crashed under the weight of Swift demand last year. The company cancelled plans for its public sale, citing demand that “could have filled 900 stadiums.” So far, it hasn’t announced any plans for the public sale of her concerts since.

The American singer made headlines earlier this year when there were initially no Canadian shows announced as part of her international Eras Tour dates. The perceived snub even prompted  a personal invitation  from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and saw an MP  file an “official” grievance “ in the House of Commons “on behalf of all Swifties” in the country.

Swift began her Eras tour earlier this year, performing songs from her chart-topping career against the backdrop of an elaborate stage design for each album.

The U.S. leg of the tour kicked off in March and wrapped up in the summer with six sold-out shows in Los Angeles. The  international leg of the tour  began in late August and continues well into next year with stops in Mexico, South America, Asia, Australia and Europe.

Swift’s reimagined 2014 album, “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” was released last week . Many consider the original album to be the release that ushered in the first Peak Swift era and began her massive pop culture dominance.

Look what you made her do: Taylor Swift announces 6 Toronto dates for 2024

November 2024 shows are all at toronto's rogers centre.

taylor swift tour no canada

Taylor Swift fans rejoice at Toronto tour dates

Social sharing.

Ending her reign as Canada's anti-hero, Taylor Swift has announced six Canadian concert dates for her Eras tour.

The pop superstar's previously released schedule had conspicuously left off any stops north of the border , while hitting 50 stops across North America, South America, Europe and Asia.

But as the scheduled shows stretched into late 2024, fans across the country expressed surprise — and tried to convince Swift to change her mind.

The campaign to bring Swift to Canada spread all the way to government. Alongside a pun-laden tweet by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Edmonton MP Matt Jeneroux said he would file a grievance "on behalf of all Swifties" who wanted to see the singer perform in the country.

The revised schedule includes Canadian shows, but they are all in one city: Toronto.

Swift will be performing at the Rogers Centre on Nov. 14, 15, 16, 21, 22 and 23 in 2024, according to a post on her Instagram account. She will be the first musician to ever play that many shows in a row at the stadium, Rogers shared in a press release.

While Swift has played in Canada in the past, her presence in the country has been dwindling — at least physically.

Her 2018 Reputation Stadium tour similarly made Rogers Centre its only stop, though with only two shows there instead of six. That show marked the last time Swift performed in Canada.

All of her previous tours included at least two Canadian cities: 2015's world tour for her album  1989 included concerts in Ottawa, Montreal, Edmonton and Vancouver along with Toronto, while 2013's Red tour included Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Toronto.

#TheMoment Taylor Swift fans caused an earthquake at her concert

For fans across Canada holding out hope, more late add-on dates may be possible.

As is common for major stadium tours, Swift often adds additional cities as she tours — including Edmonton's inclusion nearly four months after her Red tour's initial shows were announced.

But even with additional dates, Swifties can still expect a cruel summer — and fall, winter and spring.

Back when the Eras tour's Ticketmaster presale opened in Nov. 2022, fans reported so much difficulty purchasing tickets it led to heated questions in a U.S. Senate hearing with Ticketmaster's parent company Live Nation Entertainment .

  • Springsteen's 'dynamic' ticket prices just the latest twist in Ticketmaster saga
  • Calgary Taylor Swift fans disappointed over singer's decision to skip Canada on new tour

The huge number of fans — as well as bots — quickly crashed the site , and caused multiple people to lose their spot in line and chance to get a ticket for themselves.

"We apologize to the fans, we apologize to Ms. Swift, we need to do better and we will do better," Live Nation's president and chief financial officer Joe Berchtold said at the January hearing.

Verified fan registration for Toronto's show is open on Ticketmaster now  while tickets go on sale Aug. 9.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift will be spending a little extra time up north next year. Three months after announcing that her ongoing global Eras Tour will open for several shows in Toronto in 2024, the 33-year-old pop star has now added a trio of additional dates to her Canadian leg.

Taylor Swift’s ‘Taylor’s Version’ Songs: Every ‘From The Vault’ Track Ranked (So Far)

All of the new shows will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, at BC Place, with Swift set to perform three consecutive nights from Dec. 6 to 8. The Vancouver shows are slated to follow six Eras Tour offerings at Rogers Centre in Toronto.

Trending on Billboard

Swift is currently on the last few days of a two-month break from touring , having finished out her first round of U.S. and Mexico shows in late August. Starting Nov. 9, she’ll pick right back up with a string of performances in Argentina and Brazil.

After that, she’ll spend pretty much all of 2024 on the road, with Eras shows planned for Asia, Europe and Australia before swinging back around to the States next October. Already, the trek has reportedly made Swift a billionaire , as projected by Bloomberg last week.

Registration for Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan presale is already open for Swift’s new Vancouver dates. Find more information here .

Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Verified Fan Onsale is using registration to ensure more tickets get into the hands of fans who want to go to the shows, not buyers looking to resell them.

Only fans that receive an email confirming their access will be able to join the queue for this Verified Fan Onsale. Fans who are selected will receive additional instructions on Wednesday, November 8. All others will be put on a waitlist.

Tickets for these shows will be in high demand, therefore, a limited number of fans will get access to the Verified Fan Onsale while others will be placed on the waitlist as described below. Access to the Verified Fan Onsale does not guarantee tickets. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while currently-available inventory lasts.

Registration is open from Thursday, November 2 at 8:00 a.m. PT through Saturday, November 4 at 5:00 p.m. PT .

Key Dates to Know

Thursday, November 2 – Registration opens Saturday, November 4 @ 5:00 p.m. PT – Registration closes Wednesday, November 8 – Fans will receive confirmation if they will have access to the Verified Fan Onsale or if they have been placed on the waitlist.

Thursday, November 9 – Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Verified Fan Onsale (only fans that received an email confirming their access will be able to join the queue for this sale). All shows will be assigned specific on-sale windows, which will be communicated prior to the start of the sale.

How Will This Sale Work?

Ticketmaster is helping artists give their fans a better opportunity to purchase tickets by creating an extra line of defense against bots and professional resellers who are looking to sell tickets for profit. The process includes three steps:

Step 1: Registration

By registering for the Verified Fan Onsale, you are letting us know that you’re interested in purchasing tickets. From the registration page, you sign into or create your account, select your preferred show(s) and register your email and phone number. Once completed, you’ll automatically receive a confirmation email letting you know that we got your request. It’s quick, easy and free to sign up.

Step 2: Verification

Next, Ticketmaster vets each request by confirming it belongs to an individual — not a bot — and that it hasn’t been tied to irregular behaviors that could be a sign of a professional seller attempting to access the sale.

Step 3: Access Code or Waitlist

When demand exceeds availability, a limited number of registered Verified Fans will get access to the sale and others will be placed on a waitlist. You’ll receive an email on Wednesday, November 8 letting you know which group you’re in. If selected to get access to the sale, you’ll receive a unique access code and purchase link via text message the day prior to your Verified Fan Onsale.

While no system can guarantee that all fans will get tickets to the show(s) they’re interested in, the Verified Fan program works to significantly block bots and professional resellers from competing against fans for tickets during the sale.

Common Questions

How do i register.

  • To register, please visit: HERE
  • Sign in using your My Account or create an account if you don’t have one.
  • Tell us what show you’re interested in and submit your registration; we’ll keep you up to date with all the latest information.

We’ll send you a confirmation email to let you know your registration was successful and what you can expect next.

If I receive access to the Verified Fan sale, am I guaranteed tickets?

No. Access means you have an opportunity to join the Verified Fan sale but it is not a guarantee you’ll be able to purchase tickets. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis while currently-available inventory lasts.

If I received access to the Verified Fan sale, how do I purchase tickets?

  • At the specified time, click the link you were sent.
  • You’ll enter the Smart Queue. To keep your place in line, stay on the page and don’t refresh. Do not open more than one browser window.
  • Once it’s your turn, shop for tickets by using your unique access code. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis while currently-available inventory lasts and aren’t guaranteed. Each event has a strict four (4) ticket limit per customer.
  • Then checkout!

How many tickets can I buy with my code?

You can purchase up to 4 tickets for the one show indicated in the text you received.

When will the Waiting Room open?

The Waiting Room will open 30 minutes before the designated Verified Fan sale window begins. When the Verified Fan sale begins, fans in the Waiting Room are assigned a spot in line. Once you reach the end of the queue, you’ll have an opportunity to shop for tickets. Stay on the page and don’t refresh or you may lose your spot in line.

You must use the same Ticketmaster account that you registered with to join the Waiting Room.

How do I join the queue?

Sign in through the link that we texted to the phone number you provided during registration to access the queue.

What can I do to prepare?

If you’ve been selected to participate in the Verified Fan sale, we recommend that you prepare by signing into your Ticketmaster account before the Verified Fan sale to make sure your billing information is up to date. This will help speed up the checkout process after you’ve selected the tickets you want to buy.

My link isn’t working. What should I do?

If you registered and received access to shop for tickets through text or email from Ticketmaster, but the link’s not working, try checking these things first:

  • Make sure the event is on sale. Links are sent out before the event goes on sale but won’t work until the event is actually on sale.
  • You must be signed in with the same email address you used to register for the Verified Fan sale.

Will there be other ways to buy Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour tickets?

The only official way to get Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour tickets is through the Ticketmaster Verified Fan Onsale or through certain other limited tour-sponsored onsale opportunities for specific shows. Be on the lookout for information on these other opportunities where available.

I got an email saying I’m on the waitlist. What does that mean?

If you’re currently on the waitlist, stay tuned — you may still have an opportunity to shop for tickets.

When there are more fans than there are tickets, a limited number of fans will get access to join at the start of the Verified Fan sale and others will be placed on the waitlist.

More fans may get access to join the Verified Fan sale based on ticket availability. If you’re selected, you will receive a text with a link to join the Verified Fan sale. Please note, moving off the waitlist does not guarantee access to tickets. Tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis while currently-available inventory lasts.

Can I register more than once to increase the likelihood that I am able to purchase tickets ?

Registering more than once for a specific event does not increase the likelihood that you are able to purchase tickets . If you want to change the event date you selected after you’ve registered, you can make those edits while the registration window is still open. We only keep the last registration you submitted.

I received a confirmation email after I registered, what does that mean?

The email is simply to inform you that we have received your registration and will be working to verify your account. It doesn’t guarantee that you will be selected for the Verified Fan sale access. A second email will be sent on Wednesday, November 8 letting you know if you will get access to the sale or if you’ve been placed on the waitlist. If selected, the day prior to your Verified Fan sale you’ll receive a text message with a unique access code and link to use.

I’m a real fan of this artist, and not a bot or reseller. Why didn’t I get access?

Selection is not a measure of how big a fan anybody is. Sometimes there simply aren’t enough tickets for everyone. When demand exceeds availability, a limited number of fans get access to the Verified Fan sale, and others must be placed on the waitlist. The number of fans who receive access depends on the number of tickets currently available — this is done to help create a less crowded ticket shopping experience for fans.

How will I know if I’ve been granted access to the Verified Fan sale after I’ve been placed on the waitlist?

If selected, you will receive a text with a unique access code and link to the ticket sale. In the event of any SMS/texting delivery issues, we’ll email your unique access code and link to the email address associated with your Ticketmaster account that you used to register. Access to the Verified Fan Onsale does not guarantee tickets. Tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis while currently-available inventory lasts. If you’re sent a unique access code and link you should join the Verified Fan sale as soon as possible for your opportunity to purchase tickets.

Every Time Taylor Swift Has Asked Security to Help Fans During ‘Eras Tour’

Taylor Swift ’s Eras Tour has taken the world by storm, and while the three-hour show is all about celebrating her discography, the singer’s No. 1 concern is the safety of her fans.

Swift has even paused her show multiple times during her world tour to alert security of struggling fans in the crowd in hopes of getting them assistance quickly. The Eras Tour has featured cutting-edge technology with its lighting designs and laser effects, and Swift has previously discussed how her performance isn’t the only thing that requires a lot of planning.

Before embarking on her Reputation tour in 2018, Swift said she was deeply impacted after 22 people were killed as a result of a bombing during Ariana Grande ’s concert in Manchester.

“I was completely terrified to go on tour this time because I didn’t know how we were going to keep 3 million fans safe over seven months,” Swift told Elle in 2019. “There was a tremendous amount of planning, expense, and effort put into keeping my fans safe. My fear of violence has continued into my personal life.”

Breaking Down All of Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ Surprise Song Mash-Ups and What They Could Mean

The Eras Tour has been an even bigger endeavor for Swift. In December 2023, it was reported that an estimated 4.35 million tickets had been sold across her 60 concerts in North America, Argentina and Brazil before she embarked on the international leg of her tour.

Keeping fans safe is no small feat, and in addition to copious amounts of preliminary safety measures and a top-notch security team, Swift takes personal responsibility for her fans’ experience — even when she’s on stage.

Keep reading to see every time Swift paused the Eras Tours to ask security to help with a distressed fan.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Swift interrupted her performance of "Bad Blood" during a May 2023 Eras show to call off a security guard who got into an altercation with a fan.

"She's fine," Swift could be heard yelling into the crowd, apparently frustrated by what she saw from her security team. The singer paused again to add, "She wasn't doing anything," before yelling, "Hey, stop" two more times.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Swift and her fans braved extreme heat during the string of shows in Brazil in November 2023. One concertgoer, Ana Clara Benevides , died of heat exhaustion before a Rio show.

Swift did her best to help fans, and during her performance, she repeatedly asked her off-stage team to provide water to the crowd.

“There's people that need water right here, maybe 30, 35, 40 feet back," she said on stage during the Evermore set, pointing to a floor section of the crowd. "So whoever is in charge of giving them that, just make sure that happens. Can I get a signal that you know where they are?"

Celebrities Who Had the Time of Their Lives at Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’: Selena Gomez, Emma Stone, HAIM and More

Lisbon, Portugal

While Swift was sitting at her piano performing “Champagne Problems” during a May concert, she quickly interrupted her song to alert her security team of a situation .

“Ajuda por favor. Help them please,” she said while pointing in the distressed concertgoer’s direction. No details about what happened to the fan have been shared.

Stockholm, Sweden

Swift paused her acoustic set to check on fans during a show in May.

"Someone in the front row, can you tell me yes or no to this question: When you guys are putting a bunch of flashlights up in a group, does that mean people need help?" Swift asked the crowd. "We're at the end of the night, so if I see that again, I'm gonna try to point it out. I just didn't know if you were … waving at me.”

Every Time Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ Became the ‘Errors Tour’: Still ‘Swift AF Boi’

Madrid, Spain

Swift paused her live performance of “Betty” during her Folklore section in Madrid to help a fan in need of assistance.

“Ayuda por favor,” Swift said during a May show, which translates to “please help” in English. Swift also stopped strumming her red acoustic guitar to point at the concertgoer. It is not known what happened.

Taylor Swift has left the building. In Portugal anyway – but it seems the European country and its capital has left its mark on the record-breaking star.

After wrapping her second and final concert there Sunday evening, Swift took to Instagram to pen a loving thankyou note to Lisbon and its audience, writing:

“It’s official, I left my [heart] in Lisbon. My first time in Portugal and you all made me feel like I was right at home.

“Can’t believe this was our first time playing in Sweden – but it won’t be our last…”

Swift will now take the record-breaking tour onto Madrid, then Lyon in France this week, before arriving in the UK on Jun 7.

Ready for it? Taylor Swift's Eras tour comes to Edinburgh

The US superstar is performing in the Scottish capital on Friday, Saturday and Sunday

After months of build-up, Taylor Swift will kick off the British leg of her Eras tour in Edinburgh tonight.

The singer is performing at Murrayfield Stadium on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night ahead of shows in Liverpool, Cardiff and London.

It is estimated all those concerts will generate £1 billion for the economy. Almost 220,000 people have tickets for the shows at Murrayfield alone.

We spoke to some of the fans queuing up outside the stadium for merchandise on Thursday afternoon.

Jasmine and Ellie have travelled from Manchester and Oxford and - in a bid to be first through the gates at 4pm - have been camping out on the pavement there.

Jasmine said:

"We've got a tent, we've got duvets, we've got pillows, blankets and lots of layers."

Asked how they will pass the time, they told us they will be making friendship bracelets and chatting.

Ellie said:

"This is one concert I've been waiting for my whole life. This is the best concert you could want."

Welfare staff have stressed that people turning up so early isn't advised, especially if they have been sleeping out. Temperatures in the capital dropped to 7°C overnight.

What can Swifties expect from the shows?

The UK will experience a revamped version of the US superstar's Eras tour - featuring changes to her setlist, support acts and costumes.

The 34-year-old restructured the concert as she kicked off the European leg of her juggernaut tour in Paris at the beginning of May.

She cut several songs to showcase music from her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, including But Daddy I Love Him, Down Bad, Fortnight, The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, and I Can Do It With A Broken Heart.

Those tracks are widely interpreted to be about her rumoured romance with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy.

Fans have compared some of the staging of numbers in that section of the show to performances by the British singer, including Swift's theatrics in the transition to I Can Do It With A Broken Heart.

The use of marching drummers and a salute during The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived also bears a striking similarity to videos of a Healy performance.

Swift dubbed the new section of her show Female Rage: The Musical.

She has also started repeating songs in the "surprise song" portion of her acoustic set, and introducing mash-ups.

US pop-punk band Paramore, consisting of Hayley Williams, Taylor York and Zac Farro, will support Swift across all the UK dates.

Brit Awards Rising Star winner Griff will join Paramore in supporting Swift in London on June 22; US singer Mette will perform in London on June 21; and US singer-songwriter Benson Boone will be on the bill on June 23.

The support acts have changed since Swift began touring in March 2023.

Stars including Filipino-English singer Beabadoobee and US star Sabrina Carpenter have performed, while Gracie Abrams, who opened for Swift at the beginning of the tour, is set to return after the UK performances during the Canada dates.

Meanwhile, UK fans will experience several new costumes from Swift which were debuted at the beginning of the European leg - including a red sparkling bodysuit for the opening section of the show.

She is also expected to perform The Tortured Poets Department portion of the gig in a cream ball gown, with the on-stage visuals adopting a black-and-white theme.

The tour is themed around the different "eras" Swift has created during her career, with dedicated sets for each of her 11 studio albums.

Since the initial on-sale was fraught with frustration for many Swift devotees who couldn’t snag tickets, Ticketmaster is employing a controlled rollout of on-sales through its Verified Fan program.

Taylor Swift's insane pre-concert regime revealed including IV drips and ginger shots

Taylor Swift is set to dazzle the UK with her highly anticipated Eras Tour, kicking off tomorrow in Edinburgh.

As fans eagerly await the superstar's arrival, one of Taylor's former tour managers has shed light on how she maintains her incredible energy levels during her three-hour performances.

In a viral TikTok video, it’s been revealed that  Taylor  stays energized with daily ginger shots and IV drips, ensuring she has more stamina than the famously tireless Duracell bunny.

Additionally, Taylor trains rigorously by singing her full setlist while jogging or taking a brisk walk on a treadmill.

What to wear to the taylor swift eras tour concert - written by someone who's literally just been (& loved it), taylor swift's changing opinion on marriage amid travis kelce romance.

Reflecting on her commitment to touring, Taylor previously shared, “I knew this tour was harder than anything I’d ever done before by a long shot. I finally, for the very first time, physically prepared correctly. I wanted to be so over-rehearsed that I could be silly with the fans and not lose my train of thought. Learning choreography is not my strong suit.”

Taylor began her intense training regimen six months before the Eras Tour kicked off in March in Glendale, Arizona last year.

She detailed her preparation to Time magazine, saying, “I knew this tour was harder than anything I’d ever done before by a long shot. I finally, for the very first time, physically prepared correctly.”

Her training routine included daily treadmill sessions where she would run while singing the entire Eras setlist aloud—running for fast songs and jogging or walking quickly for slower songs. This was complemented by a specialized strength, conditioning, and weights program at her gym, Dogpound, and three months of dance lessons.

“I wanted to get it in my bones,” Taylor explained. “I wanted to be so over-rehearsed that I could be silly with the fans and not lose my train of thought. Learning choreography is not my strong suit.”

She credited choreographer Mandy Moore, recommended by her friend Emma Stone, for transforming her relationship with choreography.

“Mandy completely changed my relationship to choreography, and somehow got into my brain and figured out exactly how I would think about things,” Taylor said. Stone’s endorsement carried significant weight: “I’ve known her since we were 17, and I told her all about the tour—I’m always bouncing ideas off my friends.”

Taylor envisioned the Eras Tour with elements of Broadway and a cinematic experience, showcasing various dance styles and performances. “I wanted it to show people so many different types of dance and performance,” she said. “Em said, ‘Mandy’s your girl.’”

The 15 UK shows are projected to boost the country’s economy by almost £1 billion. Fans, known as Swifties, are expected to spend an average of £848 each on tickets, accommodation, travel, new outfits, drinks, and pre-show parties as they flock to venues across the country, including eight colossal nights at Wembley Stadium.

According to experts at Barclays bank, Swifties will spend lavishly when Taylor arrives in town.

Since the tour kicked off last year, Taylor has shattered numerous records, including becoming the first artist to gross more than $1 billion from a single tour in December, surpassing Sir Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

Taylor Swift's secret to success revealed: 'Revenge songs' and broken hearts is her go-to formula

Her emotional tracks about her ex-boyfriends have won her an army of fans. So Swifties should not be surprise if Taylor's singing about Joe Alywn - she loves a 'revenge track' and has been singing them for years.

Sarah Tetteh

As Taylor Swift fever sweeps the nation as she prepares to bring her record-breaking Eras tour to the UK, there's one thought that crosses my mind.

Her army of fans need not be shocked after discovering she's 'singing about Joe Alwyn' in her heart-break tracks on her genius The Tortured Poets Department album. For Taylor has been singing about her exes, well, forever.

As one of the first UK journalists to interview Taylor when she first burst onto our music scene in 2011 with her ground-breaking Fearless album, just like her ode to Romeo and Juliet in her 'Love Story' track, Taylor had already worked out that relationships did not all have fairytale endings. The then 21-year-old told me after the first night of her Speak Now tour in Birmingham, England: "My favourite songs are about love and break-ups. I love getting revenge after a bad break-up. The best way to get your own back is to write about how mean they are."

She joked: “Another way is to stop taking their phone calls, and burn their pictures.” That's why Swifties adore her till this day. When it comes to romance, Taylor keeps it real and does not mince her words.

Back then, Taylor was being wooed by Hollywood hunks including Jake Gyllenhaal, singer Joe Jonas and Twilight's Taylor Lautner to name but a few. Even then she warned her potential suitors they’d better be on their best behaviour – as if anyone hurt her, there would be Bad Blood.

Taylor was hot stuff at the LG Arena in Birmingham with her enchanting fairytale set – a perfect mix of girly anthems in her sparkly princess ballgown for Love Story and 15. She then switched up the pace with her hit Better Than Revenge.

As the hits rolled in over the years, the formula for this global success was revealed, her devastating heart-break. Eagle-eyed fans got into heated debates as to which of her ex-loves she is singing about in her new album, and perhaps there is a reference to more than one. An insider confirmed Taylor is speaking about her British ex Joe in her latest masterpiece though - after she name-checked the Black Dog pub in Vauxhall, where the former couple are said to have frequented together.

Staff at the Black Dog pub confirmed, "we have a certain blonde regular." The pub in Vauxhall, London, has been mobbed by Swifties, who have bought pint glasses as souvenirs from the bar name-checked on track 17 of Swift's new record.

Lily Bottomley, 24, from S C Soho, the hospitality group that owns the Black Dog, has opened up about Taylor's track. In a chat with the South London Press , she gave the biggest hint yet that Joe was the subject of the track, saying: "We know the song is about one of her ex-boyfriends and without giving too much away, I will say we have had a certain blonde regular in a few times."

With just days before Taylor arrives in the UK, fresh from her Paris leg, no doubt queues will be forming around the block in case Taylor pops in to her favourite drinking hole for a, Swift, pint.
