Step 1: Type of Visa You Need for Oman

Remember, the type of visa you need depends on the purpose of your visit. So, select wisely!

💡 Tip: Buy travel health insurance before your trip.

Check out popular travel insurance plans and choose one that suits you.

Most plans only cost less than $20 a day.

Step 2: Fill Out the Online Visa Application

Oman has embraced the digital age with open arms, so the entire visa application process is online. Hop onto the Royal Oman Police’s eVisa system website and get started.

Make sure you have all the information handy: your passport details, travel itinerary, and so on.

Fill out the application form , double-check for errors (we all make them!), and hit ‘submit.’

Step 3: Gather the Required Documents

Documentation is crucial for any visa process. Here’s a list of documents you’ll need for the Oman visit visa:

  • A copy of your passport: It should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival in Oman.
  • A recent photograph: Digital, of course! Make sure it’s as per the specifications mentioned.
  • Proof of accommodation: This could be your hotel booking or a letter from your host in Oman.
  • A copy of your return flight ticket.
  • Proof of sufficient funds: Like a bank statement. Oman wants to know you can take care of yourself!

Step 4: Pay the Visa Fee

You’re almost there! Now, it’s time to pay the visa fee. This can be done online using a credit or debit card.

The fee varies depending on the type of visa, so make sure you check the exact amount before you pay.

Step 5: Oman Visa Approval

After you’ve done all the hard work, it’s time to sit back and relax. Your application will now be processed, which can take up to a week, though it’s usually quicker.

You’ll receive your visa via email once it’s approved.

Final Thoughts

Remember, this is a general guideline. The exact requirements and processes can vary based on your nationality and the specific type of visa you’re applying for.

So, always check the official Omani eVisa system for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

‘Exchange a coin and you make no difference but exchange a thought and you can change the world.’ Hi! I’m Veena Patil... Fortunate enough to have answered my calling some 35 years ago and content enough to be in this business of delivering happiness almost all my life. Tourism indeed moulds you into a minimalist... Memories are probably our only possession. And memories are all about sharing experiences, ideas and thoughts. Life is simple, but it becomes easy when we share. Places and people are two things that interest me the most. While places have taken care of themselves, here’s my podcast, which I consider to be a great platform, through which I can share some interesting stories I live and love on a daily basis with all you wonderful people out there. I hope you enjoy the journey... Let’s go, celebrate life!

Oman is an Arab country in Western Asia; it is also known as the Sultanate of Oman. Earlier, the country was not counted very high on the tourist or business destination list. However, over the last couple of decades, Oman has not only emerged as a growing business hub but also a popular tourist destination.

However, before you visit Oman either for business or tourism, you should know a few things. Oman is an Islamic nation while Omani Rial is its currency. Moreover, while English speakers are found easily in the country, the most popular language is Arabic while Baluchi and Urdu are also spoken.

Oman is home to many endangered species including nine types of mammals and at least five indigenous birds. Housing many rarely found animals such as Leopard, Hyena, Oryx and Ibex and birds like Vulture, Falcons, Arabian Partridge and Sunbirds, Oman is a treasure trove if you want to find animals in their natural habitat. Oman is a hot spot for tourists who are interested in watching whales with chances of catching a glimpse of whales such as Pygmy Blue Whales, Sperm Whales and Arabian Humpback Whale.

The largest cities in Oman are Muscat, Seeb, Salalah, Bawshar, Sohar, Suwayq, Ibri, Saham, Barka and Rustaq. The local male residents in Oman prefer to wear the national dress, i.e. Dishdasha. The men in Oman carry a Khanjar with them during the festivals, khanjar is the national dagger of Oman. As far as women are concerned, in some places they wear a burqa, some wear hijab, and some wear the abaya. It depends on their preferences. People in Oman are the fan of non-vegetarian dishes, they hardly eat vegetarian dishes, but Omani Halwa is considered to be a symbol of Omani hospitality.

Oman Visa fee for Indian citizens

There are more than 60 countries whose citizens can apply for an Oman eVisa. As an Indian national, however, you only have access to the Oman electronic visa if you're also a resident of one of the GCC countries. For the regular eVisa, you must go to your nearest Oman embassy or consulate to apply for a tourist visa. Read more below.

While the regular Oman tourist visa is currently unavailable to Indian citizens, you can apply for a GCC Resident eVisa to Oman if you have a GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) residence card and approved profession.

With iVisa, you can make the GCC Oman e-visa application from the comfort of your home and receive it in as little as 3 days . As for the costs, the price of your Oman GCC Resident eVisa varies, depending on the processing time you prefer. Find more detailed information below.

Do I need a visa to enter Oman as an Indian passport holder?

Indian passport holders must obtain an eVisa to visit Oman . While you cannot currently make an application through iVisa for the Oman tourist visa, it is possible to apply for the GCC Resident Visa to visit Oman from another GCC country. This visa is slightly cheaper than a regular tourist visa.

Check all the requirements below or apply now .

Differences between a regular Oman visit visa and the GCC visa to Oman

There are different Oman visas with varying visa requirements. Indian nationals can currently only apply for the GCC Resident eVisa. Here are the differences:

Tourist eVisa: This is an electronic visa for which the application can be made 100% online. This visa is currently not available for Indian nationals on iVisa. Please contact your nearest embassy or consulate for more information.

GCC Resident eVisa : This is an authorization document that allows foreign passport holders with visas or residence cards from GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) states to travel to Oman. If you are an Indian citizen wanting to apply for this visa, you will need to submit a copy of your GCC visa or residence card.

What is an eVisa?

An eVisa is an electronic document issued by the Government of Oman and is linked to your passport. This visa allows certain nationalities to enter this country legally and for a short period, just like a standard visa. The GCC Oman visa online application enables Indian nationals to apply from the comfort of their own home without visiting an embassy.

GCC Oman Visa validity

The GCC eVisa gives Indian nationals and other foreign citizens with a GCC residence card permission to stay in Oman for a maximum of 28 days in Total for a Single Entry .

Additionally, you MUST enter Oman from a GCC country (Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, or the United Arab Emirates). You cannot apply if you already have another visa for Oman.

Information and documents required to apply for the GCC Resident eVisa

In preparation for your application, we recommend gathering all the documents you need beforehand. The following documents are required for the GCC Resident eVisa:

Applicant photo: Please note that you cannot wear sleeveless shirts or tank tops in your photo. If you don't have a picture, use the convenient iVisa [digital photo service].

Copy of your passport: Must be valid 6 months after the arrival date in Oman.

GCC Visa or residence card (if applicable): You must have a visa or residence permit for one of the other GCC countries and must be valid for at least 6 months upon entering Oman. Please note that female applicants will also have to provide a sponsor.

Occupation information: This info will usually be on the GCC visa. If not provided, please provide it upon request from our visa experts.

How much does the GCC Oman visa cost?

iVisa provides three options for processing time. You need to select one during the visa application process.

The options are as follows:

Standard: 6 days - USD $67.99 .

Rush: 4 days - USD $86.99 .

Super Rush: 3 days - USD $122.99 .

These prices all include the Oman government fee, as well as the iVisa processing fee.

What does it mean to be a resident of the GCC?

If you are a GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) resident, you need to select the GCC Resident eVisa during the application process. This type of visa is meant for people who do not originate from a GCC country but do have a residence permit for one of them.

This means if you are an Indian passport holder with a GCC residence permit, you can apply for this visa type. The prices are lower, while the processing time remains the same as for the usual tourist visa.

How does the Oman GCC eVisa system work?

The GCC Oman eVisa is issued electronically by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Oman Government.

Travelers, travel agents, airlines, and specialist service providers like us around the world can use the Oman eVisa system to process a valid visa to those countries with such a system in place. We enter the applicant's information into the system, and after careful review, we are notified of the outcome of the application.

How long does it take to apply for an Oman GCC e-Visa?

Filling out the online visa application form on our website will only take you 10 minutes . But, first, ensure you have all the required documents and information.

How to apply for the GCC Resident eVisa online
