Serving around 10 million passengers annually, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) is Ohio’s busiest airport. It has a rich history dating back to the early 1920s when it was an established stopping point for U.S. Air Mail before its pioneering technology attracted regular visits from the likes of Amelia Earhart and Charles Lindbergh in the ’30s and ’40s.

The airport was later expanded in the 1950s and ’60s to accommodate commercial flights, becoming a hub for United Airlines.

CLE Terminals

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is just off Ohio-237, connecting the airport to I-71 and I-480 for access to the Cleveland metropolitan area and beyond. There is 1 main terminal that houses the ticketing area and baggage claim for 9 airlines, while passengers arrive and depart into 3 concourses.

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport Main Terminal

The main terminal is located at the northeast corner of the airport property and has 2 levels for arrivals and departures. Both levels are served by the airport’s one-way road system that splits into the Upper Drive and Lower Drive for curbside access.

Baggage claim is on the lower level where there is also a welcome center and USO Lounge. On this level of the terminal, passengers will find the airport’s Metro station, ground transportation services, and parking facilities.

Airline ticketing is on the upper level with several shops and cafes available for passengers yet to clear security or for waiting guests.

There are 3 security checkpoints on the upper level that provide access to any of the 3 concourses. Once through security, there’s a food court in the central area between all 3 concourses.

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport Concourse A

Concourse A is located at the north end of the airport and has 12 gates numbered A1 to A3, A5 to A12, and A14. Frontier Airlines and Spirit Airlines operate domestic and international flights from Concourse A, and international arrivals will be processed by Immigration and Customs on the ramp level near gate A5.

There’s a good selection of shops and restaurants with massage chairs near gate A2.

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport Concourse B

Delta and Southwest Airlines operate domestic flights from Concourse B, from its 11 gates numbered B1 to B11. The concourse is located between Concourses A and C, directly in front of the food court, with additional concessions available throughout.

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport Concourse C

Concourse C is at the south end of the terminal, home to Air Canada, American Airlines, JetBlue Airways, and United Airlines. Domestic and international flights operate from the concourse’s 23 gates numbered C2 to C11, C14, C17 to C27, and C29.

In addition to the central area, there’s another food court at the far end of the concourse, and shops and cafes in between gates.

Once passengers clear security, they will emerge into the restricted area where it’s possible to move freely between all 3 concourses. With the consolidated airside area, passengers can connect between flights easily (unless they need to collect luggage) or visit concessions found in a different concourse.

Security and Customs at CLE

There are 3 security checkpoints at CLE, located in the north, central, and south areas of the main terminal.

CLE has dedicated TSA PreCheck lanes at the central security checkpoint, open daily from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m.

There is no TSA PreCheck Enrollment Center at CLE , with the nearest located at IdentoGO, 1163 E. 40th St., Ste 103, Cleveland, OH 44114-3867.

Once you’ve completed your interview and are approved, you’ll receive your Known Traveler Number which will enable you to use TSA PreCheck lanes at any participating U.S. airport.

CLE has CLEAR lanes for eligible passengers at the south and central checkpoints, open during these hours:

There are 2 Global Entry kiosks located in the federal inspection area of CLE for eligible passengers arriving into the U.S. on international flights.

As part of the application process, passengers will need to arrange an interview at an enrollment center. CLE does not have an enrollment center on airport property, with the closest located a couple of miles away at 6747 Engle Rd., Middleburg Heights, OH 44130.

CLE Airport Hotels

There are several 2- to 4-star hotels within a 3-mile radius of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Many hotels offer a shuttle service to and from the airport and offer amenities such as complimentary breakfast and fitness centers.

Just a 10-minute drive from CLE, The Orbit Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham is one of the closest hotels to the airport and offers a free shuttle service. Guests benefit from free parking and breakfast while having access to the fitness and business centers. A modern and comfortable room can be booked by members for 15,000 Wyndham Rewards points per night.

The Hilton Garden Inn Cleveland Airport is within close proximity to not only Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, but also the International Exposition Center and Great Northern Mall. Guests have access to an indoor pool, fitness center, an on-site restaurant, and business center. Hilton Honors members can book a room from 30,000 points per night.

A little further out for a little more luxury, the Aloft Cleveland Airport is a 4-star hotel still just a 15-minute drive from CLE. The hotel is a member of the Marriott portfolio, so Marriott Bonvoy members can book a room from 15,000 points per night, and benefit from the facilities, including an indoor pool, fitness center, and on-site bar and lounge.

Hot Tip: Many credit cards award complimentary hotel status simply for having the card. These can be perfect for those that don’t meet the stay requirements but are after the member benefits.

Like many airports in the U.S., Cleveland has its fair share of passenger gripes, such as the off-site rental car facility and overcrowding around ticketing and the security checkpoints. While there are no ongoing development projects currently in place, CLE’s master plan has accessed its needs and is trying to obtain funding for these improvements. Unfortunately, this does mean that the onset of any work is still at least several years away.

TSA & Security

Cleveland Hopkins is committed to ensuring that all passengers, visitors and employees have a safe and enjoyable environment in which to travel and work.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is charged with the responsibility of screening all checked baggage, as well as all passengers and carry-on baggage. For information regarding the security screening process, please visit the   TSA website.

Checkpoint hours:

TSA Customer Dashboard

TSA launched a new dashboard to help air travelers know their rights when they experience flight disruptions caused by airlines. View the dashboard here

*Central Checkpoint is only TSA Pre-Check from 4:00AM to 8:00PM when it becomes a general screening checkpoint.

Please note that all security checkpoints lead to all concourses and all airlines.

TSA Pre-Check

TSA Pre✓™ allows low-risk travelers to experience expedited, more efficient security screening at participating U.S. airport checkpoints for domestic and international travel.

How it works:

  • An applicant must be a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) and cannot have been convicted of certain crimes. If an applicant has a record of any of the crimes identified in the  eligibility requirements , they may choose not to apply, as the application fee is nonrefundable.
  • Interested applicants must provide biographic information that includes name, date of birth and address. An applicant will be fingerprinted and will be required to provide  valid required identity and citizenship/immigration documentation . An applicant also has the option to pre-enroll online to provide basic information. There is a nonrefundable application-processing fee of $85.
  • After completing enrollment, successful applicants will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) via U.S. mail approximately 2-3 weeks following the visit to the application center. An applicant also may check status online by visiting  https://universalenroll.dhs.gov/  and clicking on “Service Status.” The Known Traveler Number is valid for five years.
  • Please make sure the name used when applying for the TSA Pre-Check™ application program matches the name used when booking travel.
  • TSA Pre-Check™ eligibility will be identified with a TSA Pre-Check™ indicator on the boarding pass.

Please note, appointments may only be made for a date within a 45-day window of completing the online application, and if all available appointments are booked in that period, appointments would not be accepted, requiring the applicant to check back for availability. The applicant also may visit an application site as a “walk-in” without an appointment but could experience a longer wait time.

For more information, visit the  TSA Pre-Check™ website .

Ready to pre-enroll?  Visit the TSA Pre-Check™ application website.

CLEAR is available in the Central Checkpoint for travelers with TSA PreCheck and in the South Checkpoint for those who don’t. Travelers will now be able to use CLEAR to verify their identity with just the tap of a finger or blink of an eye before moving to physical security screening.

CLEAR is changing the way consumers experience the world by transforming the cards in their wallets into a single biometric ID.  Today, more than 3 million CLEAR members enjoy secure and frictionless experiences at airports, sports stadiums and beyond.

The expansion to CLE follows the company’s launch of a new experience enabling members to simultaneously confirm their identity and boarding pass information through a fingerprint or iris scan.

CLEAR membership is $15 per month with the option to add an additional family member for just $50 per year. Members can also bring their children under 18 with them through the CLEAR lane for free. After a fast, one-time enrollment, members can begin using CLEAR immediately. CLEAR is certified as Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). More information can be found on the CLEAR Website:  clearme.com

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced its intent to extend the REAL ID full enforcement date by 24 months, from May 3, 2023 to May 7, 2025. Under the new regulations published to execute this change, states will now have additional time to ensure their residents have driver’s licenses and identification cards that meet the security standards established by the REAL ID Act. As required by the law, following the enforcement deadline, federal agencies, including the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), will be prohibited from accepting driver’s licenses and identification cards that do not meet these federal standards. Cleveland Airport Security Tips

  • Please arrive 90 minutes prior to your scheduled flight departure time to ensure that you and your bags have enough time to go through the screening process and be transported to the aircraft.
  • During peak travel periods such as holidays, spring break and summer, please consider arriving 2 hours early.  If you have an early morning flight, you may need to arrive even earlier as that is our busiest travel time of the day.
  • Leave all checked baggage unlocked. Security screeners may forcibly unlock locked baggage if it requires inspection.
  • All laptop computers and video cameras must be removed from carry-on bags prior to moving through the screening process.
  • All travelers over the age of 18 need government-issued photo identification—federal, state, or local. If you do not possess any government-issued photo identification, please carry at least two pieces of identification with you—one of which must have been issued by a government authority. You may be asked to show your ID at various locations within the airport, including at check-in, screening, in the gate area, and/or prior to boarding an aircraft.
  • Only ticketed passengers are allowed beyond passenger screening points. If you need to accompany a ticketed passenger past a screening point, you should contact the passenger's airline for instructions.

Additional Safety Information

  • Please maintain continuous control of carry-on baggage, briefcases, purses, and other personal items at all times.
  • Personal items should never be left unattended as they could be subject to tampering or theft.
  • Do not carry or transport any items or baggage for any other person, especially people you do not know.
  • If you notice any unattended baggage, briefcases, purses, or other items, as well as any suspicious activity, please report it to the Airport Unit of the Cleveland Police Department immediately by dialing 6055 on any white courtesy telephone.
  • While at the airport or on airport property, never make jokes about security, including comments about having a bomb or a firearm on your person or in your luggage. Airport personnel are trained to take all such comments as serious threats, and they will immediately report such threats to the Airport Unit of the Cleveland Police Department. Such activity may result in civil and criminal penalties.

Airport Police

The Airport Unit of the Cleveland Police Department patrols Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. These highly trained officers are permanently assigned to the airport, with offices conveniently located within the terminal. They provide a wide range of law enforcement duties and responsibilities including patrol, investigation, traffic flow management, and control and response to airport emergencies.

Top 5 airlines flying to cleveland.

The gate area was incredibly short staffed, with one representative manning 4-5 flights, which caused a 3 hr delay in boarding even though the plane was all ready to leave. Other flights also were delayed because of this. The flight crew was awesome and I feel bad for the only gate worker on call, but Delta needs to hire more employees.

Very frustrated with boarding gate crew. She announced the plane was small and they would be limiting us to one item to carry on. Not a problem for me as I understand the tiny planes have limited space!! Not the case here! It was a rather large plane and had plenty of room for bags! So because I don’t want to be one of “those people” who ignores the request to check a carry on I did so asking if I would be able to pick it up at the bottom of the ramp on arrival in Knoxville to which she responded “yes”! Then I watched as every other passenger held onto their 2 items and boarded!! Then when we arrived in Knoxville our 2 carry ons had been put with all the other luggage and we had to go to baggage pick up and wait for all the big checked bags to come off the carousel! So she lied!! Frustrating. Next time I won’t be so nice!

It was a good experience except when boarding a female flight attendant did not go out of her way to assist my teenage daughters in finding space for their carry-ons after their compartments were full.

On time departure, smooth trip, flight attendant told through passengers the gate we would arrive at and the gate our outbound flight was departing from. Early arrival

Checking in at the airport the agent only booked the first keg of my trip and had my checked luggage going to the airport with a layover! Never was issued a boarding pass for the second leg or received sticker fir my checked bag. All was well in the end! Delta agents helped to resolve the situation!!!

Delayed due to an ill passenger after loading. Not preventable on Delta's part. Was in first class. The seats are becoming worn and detaching from their velcro attachments. Only got snacks on flight. The attendant was not the friendliest.

I would fly again the whole experience was great. The only feed back I can give that they don't do that American Airlines does is the crew there is more humorous with boarding and thank their passengers. It makes it more fun to fly with them. I would however fly Delta again.

From Atlanta to Cabo I would have hoped on a plane that size I would have been able to breathe and wiggle my feet a little! The leg room in that plane is non existent and I am only 5”4’. And the air vent either wasn’t working very well or just could not blow air from the ceiling to the seat area as I was suffocating through the entire flight! And please don’t say I would have been more comfortable in first class because I cannot afford those rates and have always travelled Main Cabin without issues !

The pilots were good. Disappointing when planes don't have electrical ports

I liked the piloting of the aircraft. Very disappointed about lack of electrical ports. Also, although a short flight. there was enough time to hand out snacks to comfort + seats as was done for first class.

Should have video screens Plane audio was poor and without wired connection hard to understand crew. Should serve more than just cups of water and pretzels on six hour flight. Did not see crew rest of flight. Fix charging sockets to retain charging blocks.

I paid $380 for my one-way ticket from California to Minnesota. The fair did not include online check-in. I received instructions from their app to check in at a kiosk. At the kiosk, the boarding pass would not print until an actual person came to verify that I had a personal item and not a carry-on item, On the plane, the person next to me was drunk and allowed to continue to order alcohol. United is garbage I’d rather fly spirit.

The plane was dirty and the in seat air wasn't blowing as planes usually do.

Generally good but there wasn’t any staff available when my luggage didn’t appear at baggage claim in Fresno. It took about half an hour to locate a staff member to open up the locked room where it was being kept.

Do not like the feeling of being in the basic economy. Everyone should feel good no matter what.

All flights were on time and boarding was issue free

Terrible! The plane was old and you are required to connect your own device to their Wi-Fi rather than have entertainment options in the back of the seat in front of you. The Wi-Fi went out during the flight and there was only one plug for the devices every two seats. Three out of five surrounding my family did not work. The seats and spaces under them were so small I could not fit my backpack, which I’ve always brought on flights and fit before no problem. The crew were unpleasant and patronizing.

Great! The plane was decently sized and comfortable. The staff was nice and there was great in flight entertainment

Water service would be great. The way they board is terrible. Slow passengers first😂😂 They need to smart up a bit

Our original business class flight was cancelled so we not only downgraded but we were also spread out across the plane not sitting together in separate middle seats. My poor kids were scared and couldn’t see me on the flight and the crew wasn’t sensitive to the situation and what the airlines did to us. Very dissatisfied with United airlines.

Again, multiple delays and I eventually just canceled and drove!

Great crew. We were delayed so that late passengers could get on the flight. Love the bedding in business class. Good food. Great experience.

The CX617 from HK to BKK was delayed more than 1.5 hours.

Horrible - they lied to me about baggage & boarding, even though I specifically spoke to their agents the day before my flight about my issue. When I showed up they did not let me board and stranded me at my airport until I bought a new flight with money I did not have to spend.

All four American Airlines flights I took in last seven days were delayed. Caused me loads of problems, missed meetings, loss of time and money.

American cancelled our flight home. Zero option for hotel, alternative transportation and took 3 hours to find our bags so we could take a 3 hour UBER ride home on our dime. Never flying AA again.

They gave my seat away although it was a connecting flight with them and the flight was a bit delayed.

Flight was cancelled had to move to another gate late again no internet paid for the month and never can use it waste of money

Not being able to purchase my check in baggage online was a negative.

LATE LATE LATE!!! Plagued by late AA flights on this trip. Such a drag. This one was by far the worst.

Crew was nice, explained emergency protocol very well. Flight took off and arrived on time. Pilot explained the small delay that occurred with docking and providing updates. I would definitely fly spirit again.

Terrible… missed our flight due to ridiculously long time to go thru baggage check-in!

The crew was not great or professional. It seemed like they didn't really want to be there. A true lack of effort for accommodating customers.

Everything was really good but the seats are not very comfortable.

I paid for WiFi, but it (WiFi) was very very slow, will never take again! Impossible open Utube 😤😤😤

I had no legroom, although I paid for extra legroom. I could barely put my bag in front of my feet and under the seat. The Wi-Fi was horrible. In fact the flight attendant said that they had to reboot it and see if it was going to work and never did.

The guy with severe body odor sat next to me. For the whole duration of the flight it was a torture. The airline should have better policy on limiting people with bad body odor to board the flight. Passengers should not be the ones to endure bad odor for the whole duration of the flight. The airline should be e the one to ensure decent air quality for ever passenger.

Overall it was a miserable experience... I will never fly spirit for more than a 3 hour flight or overnight.

The boarding attendant was slightly rude when I asked about checking our stroller. Made me feel like I was bothering her.

My wife and I are both handicapped and at boarding they upgraded us to a seat closer to the front rather than all the way towards the back. Much appreciated.

Not good 😐 Over priced baggage fees Small hard seats No wifi or entertainment options 😕

Didn't like anything!! Horrible flight. Small seating area and hard seats. Butt was sore after 2 hour flight to Seattle No entertainment or free refreshments No wifi or USB charging receptacles to charge phone entoute like other airliners Luggage rates were 3 times as much as competitors. Difficult to navigate online luggue process to pre pay before flight Overall bad experience WILL NEVER RIDE OR RECOMMEND FRONTIER TO FRIENDS OR FAMILY MEMBERS!!! THIS IS A SHAME!! MOST MESERIBLE FLIGHT OF MY LIFE!! AND I THOUGHT SPIRIT WAS 👎 YOU GOT THEM BEAD HANDS DOWN!!

Flight was a little late taking off. Seats are too upright, no ports to charge devices, no wifi, no entertainment

Six hour delay. Poor customer service. No voucher. Bad communication. Missed important appointments.

Our flight was delayed an hour, then when we got to board our flight finally, we were waiting in our seats for take off for 45 minutes before it was communicated that there was a maintenance issue therefore we waited on the plane for over an hour while that was resolved. We did not get to Phoenix until almost 3 hours after we were originally supposed to. This was the first and last time I will be flying Frontier.

Flight was canceled with little warning. Flight was rebooked through Ontario, California and connecting flight was delayed by over three hours. Frontier is living up to their Greyhound of the skies reputation for sure.

I purchased a carry on bag online…was supposed to cost $72 but after a whole slew of bs charges, the total was over $175.00. Because of these hidden charges, I will not even consider flying Frontier ever again. It’s just not worth the hassle. I’m scratching this company off my list forever.

Flight was OK. Seats were good no cell phone charges on the plane no TVs or entertainment.

There were 3 leg for the trip and each leg was delayed by 90 minutes or more. The boarding process takes forever with people waiting on the jetway even though most folks do not have carry-on. The whole process is poorly managed.

Flight cancelled and was told by a rude gate agent that they don’t accommodate on other airlines. Had to wait 5 hours for a connecting flight that had a 7 hour layover. Would not allow bags to be checked early so we couldn’t go through security .Had to rent a car for the afternoon to store bags and get a meal. Also incurred a hotel fee. No apology or reason given for the cancellation- just rudeness.

The CDC recommends that individuals who are not vaccinated continue to wear a facial covering in public places.

While all State of Ohio, Cuyahoga County and City of Cleveland COVID-19 health orders have expired, some venues, events and businesses may require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for admission. Visitors are encouraged to confirm any safety measures that may be in place at specific locations or events prior to their trip. As of June 12, the CDC no longer requires air passengers traveling from a foreign country to the United States to show a negative COVID-19 test before boarding their flight. Visit the CDC website for more information about international travel guidelines.

The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) bus and rail lines are running with full schedules and operations. Please visit RideRTA.com for bus and train schedules. Facial coverings are no longer required when riding RTA, however RTA does recommend riders continue to wear face coverings. Hotels & lodging

Most hotel and lodging businesses are open and have implemented enhanced health and safety standards to ensure the wellbeing of hotel guests and staff. Parks & outdoors

In accordance with guidance from the CDC and the State of Ohio, guests are not required to wear facial coverings when visiting Cleveland Metroparks and Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Park officials still recommend that guests who are unvaccinated continue to wear facial coverings and practice social distancing while at Metroparks’ indoor locations.

Mask requirements on all National Parks Service lands, including Cuyahoga Valley National Park, vary by park and are based on the CDC’s community level tool .More information can be found on the NPS website .

Ultimate Guide to Major Ohio Airports (Airlines & Maps)

Are you trying to find out more about Ohio airports, such as where these airports are located and what destinations and airlines they serve?

In this article, I will tell you everything you need to know about the major airports in Ohio. I’ll go over how long it will take you to get to these airports from the heart of the nearby cities and give you some insight into which airlines serve these airports along with some info on lounges and terminal maps.

Table of Contents

Major Ohio airports overview

Ohio is not home to one of the top 25 (or even top 40) busiest airport in the US . So, as you might expect the service is going to be quite limited when it comes to international destinations. If you are trying to fly internationally there is a good chance that you will have to connect through a neighboring state or somewhere else, so keep that in mind.

The good news is that these airports won’t be as busy and difficult to navigate as other larger airports. In many cases, you can pop in and out of these airports very efficiently.

How many airports are in Ohio?

There are approximately 37 airports in Ohio but there are only a hand full of major airports for passenger traffic on commercial airlines. Below, I’m going to focus on the major airports although I’ll also list some relevant airports nearby the cities that you might want to also check out.

Tip: Use WalletFlo for all your credit card needs. It’s free and will help you optimize your rewards and savings!

Airports near Cleveland, Ohio

Cleveland-hopkins international airport (cle).

Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport (CLE) is the busiest airport in the entire state of Ohio with over 4,000,000 enplanements per year. Depending on the traffic, you can make it up from the center of the city of Cleveland to the airport in about 15 to 20 minutes.

Hopkins is a focus city for Frontier Airlines , which is one of the ultra low cost carriers in the US. They offer very low fares to various destinations across the country but they are known for having some of the more expensive baggage fees . So in many cases, it can be very cheap to get to Cleveland from other cities across the US.

CLE is the only airport in Ohio that offers nonstop transatlantic flights to Europe (Iceland), so if you are trying to get to Iceland efficiently and you live in the state of Ohio, CLE is probably the option you want to go with.

2020 Update: This route is no longer available.

Direct flight routes map from Cleveland Ohio

CLE does not have many lounges but they do have a United Airlines United Club along with a USO Lounge, and Bar Symon. They also have an Airspace Lounge, which is one of the lounges that you can access with the Amex Platinum .

If you’re curious about what the CLE terminal map looks like, I’ve included it below. The airport consists of three main concourses: A, B, and C.

  • Concourse A:  Air Canada, American, JetBlue, and United
  • Concourse B:  Southwest, Delta
  • Concourse C : Allegiant, Frontier, IcelandAir, Spirit

There are three security checkpoints you might use and their hours are below:

  • North Checkpoint: 4:15am to 8:00am
  • Central Checkpoint (TSA Pre-Check Only): 4:00am to 8:00pm
  • South Checkpoint: Sun to Fri 4:00am to 8:00pm / Sat 3:30am to 7:15pm

If you don’t know what TSA Pre-Check is, you can read more about it here .

As for restaurants, you can look up the CLE restaurants and shopping here.  You’ll notice that they have many familiar eating establishments like Chick-fil-A, Subway, Cinnabon, Auntie Anne’s, etc.

Airports near Columbus, Ohio

John glenn columbus international airport (cmh).

John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) , formerly known as  Port Columbus International Airport , is the second busiest airport in the state of Ohio, not too far behind CLE. The airport is located only 6 miles east of downtown Columbus, Ohio. Depending on traffic, you could get to the city in under 15 minutes and to Ohio State University in under 20 minutes via automobile.

It’s also about 75 miles from Athens, Ohio so if you’re looking for an airport near Athens, CMH is only about 1.5 hours away.

You can find direct flights from CMH to approximately 140 destinations with various airlines. If you are trying to fly to an airline hub for a major carrier like Delta, American, United, Southwest, Alaska, etc., you should have plenty of options to choose from.

This is especially the case if you are flying Southwest Airlines.  While Columbus is not a Southwest hub or even a focus city, it does serve several Southwest locations, including:

  • Chicago–Midway
  • Dallas–Love
  • Fort Lauderdale
  • Houston–Hobby
  • Phoenix–Sky Harbor
  • Washington–National

While this is technically an international airport the only international arrivals come from Cancun, Punta Cana (seasonal?), and Toronto.

Direct flight routes map from John Glenn Columbus International Airport

The only lounge currently found at this airport is the Jake Brewer USO Lounge.

There are three main concourses at CMH:

  • Concourse A: Southwest
  • Concourse B: Air Canada, American, Spirit, and United
  • Concourse C : Delta, Frontier, Vacation Express

If you want to view a terminal map, I suggest checking out the interactive map here . You can also view the different shops and restaurants in the airport which include:

  • American Craft Tavern
  • Auntie Anne’s Pretzels
  • Bob Evans Express
  • Burger King
  • Charley’s Philly Steaks
  • Chili’s Too
  • Eddie George’s Grille 27

Cleveland International Film Festival names new executive director

Hermione Malone CIFF director

The Cleveland International Film Festival has named Hermione Malone as its new executive director. The Detroit native takes over in June when Marcie Goodman retires after 23 years.

Malone, a Detroit native, has worked in nonprofit management in New Orleans and, most recently, with the American Journalism Project in Washington, D.C.

“We are confident that Hermione will use her skills in strategic development, fundraising, program design and collaboration to help CIFF continue to prosper," said Chris Blake, president of CIFF’s board of trustees, in a statement. “I am excited to welcome Hermione back to Cleveland.”

Earlier in her career, Malone spent 13 years in Northeast Ohio, holding leadership positions at Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals. During that time, she also served two years as president of the Junior League of Cleveland.

“I have always said that the Cleveland International Film Festival was one of the best things about living in Cleveland,” Malone said in a statement. “I am thrilled to return to the city to lead CIFF at this transformative time.”

Malone will start June 10, working briefly alongside Goodman, who retires at the end of June. By leaving now, Goodman said it ensures that her successor will have time to plan amid the 50th film fest in 2026.

“Part of an anniversary is looking back,” she said. “But even more of an anniversary is to look forward and to have a vision for what the future of this organization is going to be like. So, to have that person in place two years out, I think makes sense.”

The Cleveland International Film Festival was founded in 1977 by Jon Forman. His Cleveland Cinemas still owns the festival’s first home, the Cedar Lee Theatre in Cleveland Heights. He was succeeded by David Wittkowsky in 1992, just after the festival moved to Tower City. Goodman announced a move to Playhouse Square in 2020, which was delayed until 2022 due to the COVID pandemic.

CIFF49 will take place March 26-April 5, 2025, at Playhouse Square.

Dear Abby: Travel suggestions? I’m tired of being the one who always drives hours to visit relatives

  • Published: May. 02, 2024, 5:00 p.m.

Baby killed in car crash on Allentown Boulevard

Dear Abby: I've long lived apart from the rest of my family. I'm tired, though, of always having to be the one who has to drive hours for a family visit. What would you suggest?

  • Abigail Van Buren

Dear Abby: I have been independent from my family for 25 years. I have always lived a few hours’ drive from them. (I now live an hour away from my mother and three hours from my sister and her family.) For every occasion over those 25 years, I have always visited them -- spending time, money on gas, putting thousands of miles on my car and sometimes taking time off from work. Never has anyone visited me, other than once when my sister was passing through and wanted to have lunch.

I have invited my family countless times, but there’s always an excuse. Often, it’s that my place is too small to accommodate them or that I have a roommate. I’m expected to spend my resources visiting them or go broke to have a place that can accommodate them. I am reminded of this lopsided situation every time my roommate’s family visits multiple times per year. They stay in hotels.

I’m not confrontational. I love my family, but I feel some boundaries need to be established. Am I unreasonable? If not, do you have any suggestions?

-- All On Me in Florida

Dear All: If it is not practical to continue traveling to visit your relatives, stop doing it. Do not stop inviting them to visit you, however, and when you do, tell them you know they would be more comfortable staying in a nearby hotel or motel, which is what your roommate’s family has been doing for years.

  • Dear Abby: Should I help make peace? My grown niece battles with my sister, but confides in me
  • Dear Abby: How would you deal with my boorish husband? His behavior is over the top
  • Dear Abby: Despite efforts to bolster breast cancer awareness, many don’t know it also affects men
  • Dear Abby: What can I do? My significant other is infatuated with his video games and not me
