Went with Michael and Sue to South Africa. Michael was extremely rude and mean spirited. The price of his trips are cheap but he is just plain obnoxious! I gladly pay more now to travel with Catholics who live out their faith.
Portugal and Spain pilgrimage October 2023. At first, things were outstanding. We have traveled with Michael and Sue in previous adventures, and have had very pleasant experiences. This time, WOW! As I mentioned, initially things were great. Fatima was spectacular. But then....,,our trip changed. Michael was condescending, rude, and un-professional. He made people cry, made people feel uncomfortable, and un-welcomed. The rest of our trip was very un-comfortable. I for one will NEVER travel with this agency. I know many others who were in our group who will never travel with Golden World Tours. Michael and Sue.....so disappointed with both of you!
I did not have a positive experience with this agency. On the contrary, it was horrible and very disappointing. Sadly, I can also attest to the abusive and erratic behavior of its owner. Very unprofessional!
We have taken several tours with Golden World Tours and have more planned. We always enjoy traveling with Michael and Sue, they make the experience personal and meaningful.
I felt I had to write a review to let people know that Golden world tours is excellent. I was saddened and shocked to see some negative reviews on other review sites, while I'm not discounting other people's opinions, I feel that an excellent travel agency with excellent people is being attacked wrongly and with malice. We traveled to Italy with golden world tours on a holy pilgrimage and our experience was amazing! The price was unheard of for what we got, no other tour group even came close. We actually just returned from a holy land trip (Israel Jordan & Egypt) with a different tour group only because it was the time of year we could take off. Ok so here's what I observed on both group trips, it was made clear from the beginning that it was a group trip and we should be mindful of others time in the group. With both tour groups I noticed that there are individuals who either cannot or will not follow the rules and adhere to the time schedules. Is this the tour operators fault? No! On both trips the tour operators would say something like " ok we are at this site at 10am - everyone meet back here at 11am at this spot with the statue," or "we are stopping for 10 min for restroom breaks -please no shopping- only to see some one running back to the bus 10 min late with shopping bags in hand! Almost every site and every time someone straggled by up to 10 or 15 mins sometimes. Leaving everyone else to wait on the bus and either causing us to miss something on the itinerary or be late back to the hotel. 10 mins here and 15 mins there can add up to an hour or more of delay for everyone. On both group trips I heard individuals complaining and saying they were going to write a bad review when they got home. Spoiler alert - those were the same individuals who could not follow the time limits and rules. As for hotel card key handout upon hotel arrival - they are going down a list of names and handing out keys, but there are always a few individuals who interrupt and want their card key " right now!" Because they just have to get to their room before everyone else. As for not sitting together on flights - remember the flights were bought at group rates so the tour operators can request but not control seat assignments. On the trips my wife and I went on sometimes we sat together and sometimes not. These trips are booked at group rates by the the tour operators to keep costs down and the trip affordable. People go on group tours because they are more affordable than individually planned vacations to the same location and itinerary. I've done the research and in most cases an individually planned tour will cost you almost double or more - with the taxis, meals, hotels, tour guides, and airfare all at non group rates. Basically what these non rule followers are saying is " I want an individualized tour at a group rate!" " I want to shop when I want to and take as much time as I want to- regardless of other people In the groups time. Trust me they give you plenty of time to shop and free time to do what you want individually. So please, if you want a great and memorable experience with excellent tour guides and you like meeting new people and exploring other cultures and countries, then golden world tours is right for you. If you want to be catered too and can't follow rules then book everything yourself and have fun. Thank you golden world tours for an amazing Italy trip and we look forward to traveling with you in the near future. PS: There were 3 buses of people on our trip each with its own set of tour guides and everything went smoothly and as efficiently as possible - which I believe is a testament to how well planned and organized golden world tours are.
I traveled with Golden World Tours this past March to Croatia and Italy. I went with my mother and some family friends and we had the time of our lives! My mom has been taking these trips for several years now so I was excited that she invited me to go to this one. Michael and Sue Menof coordinate all the details of transportation, meal plans, lodging, so after we paid the upfront price (for quite a bargain, I might add) we got to relax and avoid all the stress that goes with planning a vacation. They handled everything, and provided us with tour books so we could read ahead on all of the places we would be visiting. There was plenty of free time too, where we were free to explore on our own. We had a tour guides that accompanied us through out our journey as well. Overall, I had a fabulous time and am looking forward to traveling again!

10 Fantastic Factory and Fun Tours You Can Only Take Around Dallas – Fort Worth
Explore various tours in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, from breweries to stadiums, showcasing local craftsmanship and attractions.
Written by
The Dallas - Fort Worth area prides itself on producing a lot of things. From consumables to wearables, we have an assortment of products that are made with pride by locals, and some businesses offer tours to see how it's done. Fun tours are also offered around the area at venues that focus on our various sporting teams. Here are some interesting tours to check out:
1. Rahr & Sons Brewery (701 Galveston Ave., Fort Worth)
A tour of the brewery and a Rahr & Sons pint glass are included for only $10, and, as always, the beer samples are free (only guests 21 years or older get to taste the beer). Public tours are held on Wednesdays from 5:00 P.M. – 7:30 P.M. and Saturdays from 1:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M.
2. Delaney Vineyards (2000 Champagne Blvd., Grapevine)
Tours are $10 and include five Delaney Vineyards award-winning wines. Learn about the special grapes grown here in North Texas as well as the grape-growing, harvesting, wine-making, and bottling process.
3. James Leddy Custom Boots (1602 N. Treadaway, Abilene)
Making custom boots is truly an art. You can see the craftsmanship process of how each pair is custom-tailored for a perfect fit.
4. The Bureau of Engraving & Printing (9000 Blue Mound Road, Fort Worth)
Did you know that more than half of the nation's currency is produced in Fort Worth? Visitors can see where billions of dollars are printed from an enclosed walkway, which is suspended above the production floor. Tours are free and are available from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Tuesdays-Fridays.
5. Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium (One AT&T Way, Arlington)
AT&T Stadium is more than the home of the Dallas Cowboys, it's a world of facts and figures about the world's largest domed structure, an art museum, a classroom. Four types of tours are offered: guided, self-guided, educational, and even an art tour. Ticket prices vary by tour selection.
6. Dublin Bottling Works Tour (105 E. Elm St., Dublin)
This is the home of sodas bottled with pure cane sugar. The tiny bottling plant in Dublin serves customers throughout the Lone Star State and the entire world. With 120 years of bottling, it is the oldest soda bottling facility in the State of Texas. Tours are offered Tuesdays-Saturdays from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and Sundays from 1:00 P.M. -5:00 P.M. Cost is $5 for adults; $4 for kids and seniors.
7. American Airlines Center (2500 Victory Ave., Dallas)
This tour offers an educational and interactive experience. You will begin in the bowl where little-known facts are revealed such as building logistics and event conversion, then it’s off to the event level where the magic begins. You will also visit the press box, a luxury suite, party rooms, as well as other facilities in the building. Tours are scheduled by appointment only on Mondays-Fridays on non-event days. Call 214-665-4213. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for ages 17-under and for seniors 65 and up.
8. American Airlines' C.R. Smith Museum (4601 Hwy. 360 at FAA Rd.,
Fort Worth)
The C.R. Smith Museum takes visitors on a flight through American Airlines history and features interactive exhibits. It is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children and seniors.
9. Texas Motor Speedway (3545 Lone Star Circle, Fort Worth)
Daily tours are offered for $10 for adults; $8 for children 12 and under and seniors. Tours include the pit, concourse, track laps in the tour van, luxury sweet, and victory lane.
10. Collin Street Bakery (401 W. 7th Ave., Corsicana)
Come see why this bakery has been operating successfully since 1896. It became known for its mailing of fruitcakes when Mr. Ringling's circus troupe asked to have fruitcakes sent to family and friends throughout Europe... so began an international Christmas gift tradition. Rather than being an official tour, it is more like a peek into the baking and preparation aspects of these baked goods.
Learning about how things are made provides a fascinating look into the process, and these cool factory tours prove it. Have you been on any of these tours? Do you know of other great ones in the Dallas - Fort Worth area? Let us know in the comments!

The Completely Free Garden Hiding in an Illinois College Campus Is a Must-Visit
Explore a hidden gem garden in Illinois—free, tranquil, and featuring beautiful Japanese design and seasonal blooms.
Discover a hidden gem on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus. Nestled within the University of Illinois Arboretum, this tranquil retreat invites you to explore beautifully designed Japanese gardens, including a tea garden, a dry rock garden, and a stunning cherry tree allée.
Best of all, it is completely free to visit. So, the next time you need a break from the hustle and bustle, head to UIUC's Japanese gardens to immerse yourself in its serene ambiance.
The Japanese gardens feature the Dry Garden, a minimalist space with carefully raked gravel and large stones that replicate natural landscapes like islands and mountains. Rooted in traditional Japanese design, this restful garden encourages quiet contemplation and offers a meditative atmosphere from every angle.
The Tea Garden provides a similarly soothing experience, with stepping stones, bamboo fences, and water basins guiding you along gentle, winding paths. Reflecting Zen principles, this garden symbolizes a journey from the structured world to a natural, serene environment.
As the seasons change, so does the landscape. In spring, the garden bursts into life with delicate pink and white cherry blossoms, or sakura , signaling the arrival of spring. Japan House’s "Sakura Watch" on its website and social media helps visitors time their visit to catch the blossoms at their peak. This fleeting display, known as hanami , celebrates the spring season in Japan and offers a moment of tranquility right on campus.
Beyond the gardens, Japan House also offers enriching experiences such as traditional tea ceremonies and guided tours. Advance registration is required for tea ceremonies, and there is a cost associated, but they provide a deeper dive into Japanese culture.
Whether you’re exploring the gardens or participating in cultural events, this spot is a relaxing escape in the heart of Illinois. Open from spring to fall, and from dawn until dusk, the gardens are entirely free. For up-to-date information on hours, parking, and tips, visit the Japan House Facebook page .
Ready to experience the beauty and serenity for yourself? Plan your visit today by checking out the Japan House website . Don’t miss this chance to discover one of the best Japanese gardens in Illinois!
Remember: Japan House is a university teaching facility. It's open to the public only for special events listed on the Japan House website . During business hours, it's used for university courses and isn't a museum or public space. The Japanese gardens are free to visit, but it's important to note that they are not meant for private events or photoshoots that can disrupt the educational focus.
