This excursion was fabulous! Our driver was Ryan who was very informative and interactive. When we got to Nine Miles Barky did our tour, he was funny and informative.

I never realized that Bob Marley died so young and learnt a lot about his music and childhood days.

The drive up to 9 Mile and back was great. Uton was gracious enough to stop with us and have lunch on the way back. We all were so thankful for him and we felt safe at all times. There were no worries from anyone in my family. Also, when we got to 9 Mile, he dropped us off right at the steps where you go up to the Bob Marley museum and mausoleum.

Again, if I could give you 10 stars out of 5, I would. Excellent experience and let’s please stay in touch. We’ll be coming back soon!! Also, I almost forgot, thank you for making the deposit and financial transactions so much easier. I appreciate that!!

We never had reason to complain about anything during our two tours with him – Bob Marley 9 Mile on the 1st day, and Dunn’s River Falls on the 2nd day. First I want to say I had a great time. The Bob Marley Mausoleum is another review .I was one of three people to go to Nine Mile on Dec.09 2014 from the Royal Decamoron Now about the tour. Robbie our driver was right on time and met us in the resort lobby. He was very easy to understand and that made everything a lot more enjoyable. Our car was very clean and seemed quite new. On our ride there Robbie explained why he liked to go early in the day, to beat the tour buses thus having a more personal tour at Nine Mile. He was right on. By the time we were finished it started getting crowded. He was a great driver on those twisty , narrow roads and new so much about the sights we passed along the way. He was very protective of us and I felt safe while on the tour. Overall I would say the car was excellent, the timing was excellent and the tour guide went above and beyond expectations. The tour that your company organized were most satisfying for our diverse group that ranged in ages from 28 to 67 years old.

Thank you also for being so accommodating by arranging for my group of five, which flew into Jamaica on Tuesday to meet up with our family of six that was arriving by cruise ship on Thursday. It was my uncle’s 50th birthday celebration and he was thoroughly surprised and touched to see all of us in Jamaica just for him. The Bob Marley Nine Miles tour capture many of the highlights of Montego Bay and surrounding towns. The driver, Uton, really made the journey there a fun-filled adventure, and we laughed and joked the entire way. And we really appreciate having Uton as our local driver/guide over our four-day stay, as his perspective and insight were truly valued by all. There were many stops to just take in the scenery and for pictures; and for a group of our size no one ever felt rushed.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Flexible: full refund within a limited period.

For cancellations by Guests, cancellation charges depend on when Island Routes receives notice of the cancellation. Minimum cancellation charges are as follows:

Hotel Guests:

24 hours or less: No Refund

48 hours or less: 50% Cancellation Fee

96 hours or less: 25% Cancellation Fee

96+ hours: Full Refund

Shore Excursions:

96 hours or more: Full Refund

Less than 96 hours: No Refund

G r oup Reservations:

60 days prior to tour date: Full Refund

45 days prior to tour date: 50% Cancellation Fee

30 days prior to tour date: 75% Cancellation fee

Less than 30 days prior to tour date: No Refund

All cancellations of, or changes are subject to applicable restrictions. Island Routes Tours will apply any payments made toward the purchase price against any cancellation charges and will refund any balance remaining after the payment of any charges. In order to receive a refund, if applicable, client must request and receive a cancellation confirmation number. The cancellation charges outlined above are liquidated damages and not a penalty. Holiday periods may be subject to additional cancellation charges. NO REFUNDS OR ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE MADE FOR ANY PORTION OF TOUR OR ATTENDANT SERVICES NOT UTILIZED.

Refund Policy: No refunds or adjustments will be made for any portion of your tour not utilized.

Changes to Reservations: All requested changes to reservations are subject to Island Routes' sole discretion, and any changes must be approved in writing.

PREPAID TOUR & EXCURSION RESERVATIONS

By reserving your tour and excursion, you authorize Island Routes Caribbean Adventures to book reservations for the total reservation price. You agree that your credit card will be charged by Island Routes Caribbean Adventures for the total reservation price.

BANK & CREDIT CARD FEES

Some banks and credit cards impose fees for cross-border transactions. By reserving your tour and excursion on this website, you may see an additional cost/fee appearing on your credit card statement. This fee is solely determined by your Bank and/or Credit Card Company and Island Routes Caribbean Adventures takes no responsibility for these associated costs. Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, and the hotel, do not operate the tours, and for these purposes, the Operators of tours are independent contractors. The Operators of tours are solely responsible for their acts and omissions and Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, and the hotel, assume no responsibility for such acts and omissions, or for any injury, loss, damage, sickness or accidents sustained on any of the tours offered for sale , including but not limited to any that occur on and/or during the tour, as well as before and after as part of and/or during transport to/from the tour ‐ again, to the exclusion of tours identified as being owned by Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours. Without any exclusion, however, Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, and the hotel, shall not assume any responsibility for injury, loss or damage to any person that voluntarily participates in cliff diving at any location, including but not limited to Dunn's River Falls or Rick's Café, and/or to any person who voluntarily stops as part of and/or during transport to/from a tour at an unintended destination, meaning one that is separate and apart from the scheduled tour and/or destination. Please note, for your safety, Guest will not be allowed to participate in helicopter tours and/or transfers if they have undertaken any diving exercise within 24hrs prior to departure of said tour/transfer.

Guest HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGES AND AGREES that Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, and the hotel, their parent corporation, affiliates, subsidiaries, insurers, directors, officers, employees, successors, assigns, agents or representatives, SHALL NOT BE LIABLE to Guest for liabilities, claims, actions, damages, cost or expense in any circumstances, for: (A) ANY PERSONAL INJURIES OR PROPERTY DAMAGE ARISING OUT OF OR CAUSED BY ANY ACT OR OMISSION ON THE PART OF ANY Guest(s) and/or Operators of tours, excluding tours identified as being owned by Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours; (B) EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, MENTAL SUFFERING, OR PSYCHOLOGICAL INJURY OF ANY KIND; OR (C) ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES. This specifically includes but is not limited to liabilities, claims, actions, damages, cost or expense ARISING OUT OF OR CAUSED BY food or drink consumed at third party facilities belonging to third party Operators of tours.

SPECIAL REQUESTS

Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours cannot guarantee that it will satisfy special requests and we are not responsible if such requests are not met.

PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Persons with Disabilities: Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours cannot guarantee that transfer vehicles or tour sites are wheelchair accessible. However, if informed, we will endeavor to make the necessary arrangements. This may however come at an additional cost.

Tour Description

For die hard Bob Marley Fans

Travel along Jamaica's scenic north coast to Discovery Bay, this is where Christopher Columbus first landed in Jamaica. Here you will make a turn to the south and head into Jamaica's beautiful mountainous interior.

We will keep going through local towns such as Brown's Town, Alexandria and other communities in Jamaica's picturesque countryside until we arrive at the little village of Nine Mile which is a quaint little place in the beautiful mountainous interior of St. Ann. Hundreds of hard core Bob Marley fans come to this remote part of Jamaica in the hills of St Ann to see the birth place and final resting place of the king of Reggae music as well as learn about the meaning of the lyrics of his music.

Not long after arriving at the small village of Nine Mile, you will arrive at the Marley family home. A Rastafarian guide greets you and immediately, you are faced with the friendly pleasant vibes which influenced the lyrics of many of Bob's songs. The tour starts through the family house and it is not uncommon to be greeted by his mother or uncle while visiting on tour. as you are on this tour of the house where Bob Marley grew up you will get to not only meet the people he grew up with but touch his bed and really get to know him in-depth. This is a singing tour and your guide shares tales of Bob Marley's childhood in the country, musical carrier and meaning behind and inspiration for the lyrics of his most famous songs, many of which the guides will sing for you and encourage you to sing along.

Afterwards you will be taken to the mausoleum - final resting place of the reggae king, where his body is entombed.  

The message in Bob Marley's music has influenced many persons all over the world for many years and despite his untimely death, the legend of Bob Marley lives on in the lyrics in his songs. Bob is truly one of the pioneers of reggae music. After the tour is completed your guide will be take you to our restaurant for lunch and refreshments. Your return trip is a continuation of your excursion, which takes you through rural Jamaica, as you wind your way through scenic Muir House and Brown's Town. You will see the Brown’s Town market, famous for its produce. There is no better way to end your tour as you return to your North Coast destination.

After you have finished your visit of Bob Marley's Nine Mile home you will understand why he had many of the values that he did, qualities instilled during his childhood while growing up here.

On returning to Montego Bay you may stop for do some last minute souvenir shopping before returning to your cruise ship.

Thank for the great time today. Our driver today was amazing!!! Very patient and took good care of us. We would like to request him for our catamaran tour on Wednesday.

I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful experience we had with RaShane. When I tell you I was with some very hard to please ladies I mean it and they were extremely happy with the service provided by your company. I am sure you have seven customers for life. We are already talking about the next trip!

We felt so safe and comfortable with RaShane. We were so impressed with his knowledge of the island and his willingness to be so open with all of us. When he came back the second day he picked fresh flowers that were all over the bus just for us. When we stopped he didn’t leave us alone in the bus he took us with him to ensure our safety. And before we went into a place to eat he checked it out to make sure it was a good place to eat. He also made sure we didn’t get ripped off at the souvenir shop. Can’t tell you how much we appreciate it!

In my opinion there isn’t another tour company in Jamaica!!
