Coldplay announce US ‘Music Of The Spheres’ tour dates

Support will come from H.E.R. and 070 Shake

Coldplay have announced a series of US and Canada ‘Music Of The Spheres’  tour dates.

The band are set to continue their world tour with a series of rescheduled dates in South America in Sao Paulo from March 10 before they return to the UK and Europe for further stadium dates.

Now, they have added four new dates in September, taking in shows in Seattle, Vancouver, San Diego and Los Angeles. Support will come from H.E.R. and 070 Shake .

Tickets go on sale this Friday (January 27) at 10am local time. You can purchase tickets here . You can also view the new dates below.

A first come, first served pre-sale to past purchasers of their previously scheduled 2022 dates in Los Angeles will also be held for the LA date at the Rose Bowl with fans receiving an email notifying them of the presale which will take place on Thursday (January 26) at 10am local time. The band will return to the live circuit with a series of forthcoming shows in Brazil in March, which were postponed last year after frontman Chris Martin came down with a “serious lung infection”. Support will come from Chvrches .

Across May, June and July the band will play Portugal, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and more, with two new UK dates also added in Manchester and Cardiff.

The band play two shows at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on May 31 and June 1. A date in Cardiff at the Principality Stadium is also set for June 6 before the European tour wraps up with two gigs at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam on July 15-16. Tickets are available here .

On the eve of their new album,  Music Of The Spheres , Coldplay have today announced an accompanying global stadium tour in 2022.

The  Music Of The Spheres World Tour  begins on 18 March 2022 with the band’s first ever show in  Costa Rica , before travelling to the  Dominican Republic ,  Mexico ,  USA ,  Germany ,  Poland ,  France ,  Belgium  and the  UK . 

The full list of shows is available below and at coldplay.com/tour. Support at the majority of shows will come from  H.E.R. , with  London Grammar  supporting at selected dates.

Tickets for all U.S. dates will go on sale to the general public starting Friday, October 22 at 10am local time at  Ticketmaster.com .

To ensure tickets get into the hands of fans directly, the tour will also have a Verified Fan presale available for all U.S. dates. Registration for U.S. tour dates is available now  HERE  through Sunday, October 17th at 6pm PT/9pm ET via Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program. Verified Fan presale begins Wednesday, October 20 at 10am local time through Thursday, October 21 at 10pm local time.

Coldplay released Music Of The Spheres in 2021. The Chris Martin-fronted band is still bringing the album is seemingly every hemisphere on their subsequent Music Of The Spheres World Tour — reducing their carbon footprint and covering Backstreet Boys along the way.

According to Coldplay’s official website , the seven-time Grammy winners are next scheduled to perform four nights in Amsterdam from July 15 to 19 before coming stateside. Based on ticket sales, Coldplay has held the all-time rock title since January. While the revenue record has turned over more frequently, in part due to inflation and a consistently surging ticketing market, the attendance record has been sturdier.

Coldplay ends U2’s 13-year record, passing the U2 360 Tour’s 7.3 million tickets. Before that, The Rolling Stones held strong for 16 years with 6.4 million tickets during the Voodoo Lounge Tour in 1994-95.

Coldplay has 21 shows – half in Europe and half in Oceania – left on the schedule. Based on their track record this year, the remaining dates could add another million tickets to the tour’s total, ultimately approaching an unprecedented count of 10 million.

The biggest rock tour of all time has officially been confirmed - and it's Coldplay's Music Of The Spheres world tour

According to new data, Coldplay's latest tour has officially surpassed the likes of U2, The Rolling Stones and Elton John

British music institution and honorary Glastonbury house band Coldplay may well be celebrating this week, as it's officially been confirmed that their latest tour has become the highest-grossing rock tour of all time, surpassing the likes of The Rolling Stones , U2 , Guns N' Roses and the previous leader, Elton John, whose massive, years-long Farewell Yellow Brick Road farewell tour grossed $939.1 million. That number has now been eclipsed by Codlplay's ongoing Music Of The Spheres world tour, which is currently sitting pretty at $944.7 million.

According to new data presented by Billboard , Coldplay are set to fly even further into the lead given that the Music Of The Spheres world tour is far from over, with another million more ticket sales potentially yet to be counted. The remainder of the top ten highest grossing rock tours ever is rounded out by Roger Waters, AC/DC and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, with Coldplay and The Rolling Stones both making two appearances on the list. 

"Coldplay has 21 shows – half in Europe and half in Oceania – left on the schedule," Billboard reports. "Based on their track record this year, the remaining dates could add another million tickets to the tour’s total, ultimately approaching an unprecedented count of 10 million."

Coldplay made their seventh appearance at Glastonbury this past June as part of their current tour, which launched in 2022 and is in support of both 2021's Music Of The Spheres album and its follow-up, this year's Moon Music , due for release on October 4.

The British Pop Rock band Coldplay now has the top grossing Rock tour of all time according to Billboard . Their “Music of The Spheres World Tour” is not over yet but they already made 944.7 million dollars. That number can increase since they still have 21 shows left in Europe and Oceania.

So right now they made 5 million dollars more than Elton John, who was the first one on the list with 939.1 million dollars. Are still on the list bands like U2, Guns N’ Roses, Rolling Stones, Roger Waters, AC/DC, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Coldplay again, since their “A Head Full of Dreams Tour” is also among the top grossing Rock tours of all time.

Coldplay was formed in London, England in 1997 and they have had the same line-up since 1998. The group is formed by Chris Martin (Vocals, keyboards, piano, guitar, harmonica), Jonny Buckland (Guitar, keyboards), Guy Berryman (Bass, keyboards, synthesizers) and Will Champion (Drums, keyboards, piano, guitar).

Over the decades they became one of the most successful bands in the world, selling an estimated amount of more than 100 million records worldwide. Coldplay have two of the 15 highest-grossing tours of all time as well. Some of their most famous tracks are “Yellow”, “Viva La Vida” and “Sparks”. Their most recent album is “Music of The Spheres”, released in 2021.

Second Latin American tour leg announced

Due to phenomenal demand, the band have announced a second Latin American leg for their Music Of The Spheres World Tour, which will take the band to stadiums in Colombia, Peru, Chile and Argentina. The new dates are as follows:

SEPT 2022 17: Bogotá, CO – Estadio El Campín (Support: Camila Cabello) 20: Lima, PE – Estadio Nacional (Support: Camila Cabello) 23: Santiago, CL – Estadio Nacional (Support: Camila Cabello)

OCT 2022 25: Buenos Aires, AR – Estadio River Plate (Support: H.E.R.)

Ticket information can be found on the tour page . Support will come from Camila Cabello for the September shows and from H.E.R. for the October date.

The band have also confirmed that they will continue to add more dates around the world.
