Metallica have announced plans to stream their August performances at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for worldwide viewing.

Presented by Trafalgar Releasing, Metallica: M72 World Tour Live From Arlington, TX – A Two Night Event will stream the Californian band's August 18 and August 20 shows to a global audience in America, Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Oceania. Metallica: M72 World Tour Live From Arlington, TX – A Two Night Event will see the quartet playing two nights with two completely different setlists, with songs from across the group’s storied career, ranging from 1983’s debut Kill ‘Em All to 2023’s 72 Seasons .

The M72 tour features a bold new in-the-round stage design that relocates the famed Metallica Snake Pit to centre stage so that fans can have a complete 360 degrees view of the show. 

The event organisers say, "With a state-of-the-art multi-camera set up, you will feel like you're right in the middle of the action, no matter where you are in the world."

Metallica will be supported on August 18 by special guests Pantera and Mammoth WVH, and on August 20 by Five Finger Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills.

Reviewing the opening night of Metallica's M72 world tour in Amsterdam, Metal Hammer editor Eleanor Goodman wrote that the spectacular show was "just Metallica being the best at what they do."

Metallica add new US dates to ‘M72’ world tour, with support from Limp Bizkit and Pantera

The 21 shows see the record-breaking world tour extended into its third year

Metallica have announced a new run of US tour dates to their huge ‘M72’ tour, with Pantera and Limp Bizkit set to join as support. Find ticket details below.

Announced today (September 19), the new run of tour dates will see the band’s record-breaking world tour extended into its third year, with 21 shows being added to the schedule for 2025.

The run of live dates come in support of the thrash metal icons’ latest album ’72 Seasons’, which was shared last spring. James Hetfield and Co. kicked off the tour in April 2023 , and so far has seen them play to three million fans across the world.

Newly shared shows will take place between April and June next year, and will open with a huge slot at the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas on April 12. Headline shows will commence on April 19, with a show at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse.

Other shows include two nights at the Rogers Centre in Toronto (April 24 and 26) and two gigs at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium (May 1 and 3), as well as further stops in Blacksburg, Columbus, Philadelphia, Landover and Charlotte throughout May.

Shows in June start with a night at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, followed by gigs in Tampa, Houston and Santa Clara. The dates wrap up with two nights at in Denver, taking place on June 27 and 29.

Not only will the 2025 itinerary continue the ‘No Repeat Weekend’ tradition, with each night of the two-show stands featuring entirely different setlists and support lineups, but the new dates will also see support from Pantera, Limp Bizkit, Suicidal Tendencies and Ice Nine Kills .

Tickets go on sale next Friday (September 27) at 10am local time. Pre-sale packages will be available from Monday (September 23). Visit here for tickets and check out a new list of dates below.

As always, a portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go to local charities via the band’s All Within My Hands Foundation. Established in 2017 as a way to give back to communities, the non-profit has already raised over $15million (£11.3m).

Last year, Metallica’s run of European dates were given a four-star review from NME .  “Metallica have always been a gateway band for heavy music, but there’s a renewed excitement around them now. Tonight’s surprising, ambitious and giddy gig matches that energy at every turn,” it read.

“Their closing crossover track ‘Master Of Puppets’ naturally goes off, but then so do all of the songs on the setlist. From the gorgeous ‘Nothing Else Matters’ through to the unifying ‘Seek & Destroy’, the majesty of heavy music is on full display throughout the gig as Metallica prove why they’re clearly still the greatest metal band around.”

Before then, their ‘ 72 Seasons’ album was given a four star review too, and described by NME as a “thrilling sonic onslaught”.

“For young fans just now learning the joys of heavy rock – perhaps lured in by the appearance of this band’s 1986 classic ‘Master of Puppets’ on Netflix megahit Stranger Things last year – this new record will be a fitting gateway drug,” it read. “For everyone else there’s simply the reassuring thrill that, after so many decades on stage, Metallica are still capable of delivering sharp, spiky metal – and sticking it where the sun doesn’t shine.”

In other Metallica news, the band recently paid tribute to a Canadian fan who died during their concert in Edmonton .

Before then, it was revealed earlier that fans could bid for a dinner date with lead singer and guitarist James Hetfield for charity . While the bidding is now closed – the winning bid is currently unknown – it was confirmed that the winner will be allowed to bring up to three additional guests for the night, but would have to foot the entire bill for the night.

When NME first reported on the auction, the bid stood at $28,500 (£22,112), and had five days left to go.

Metallica Extends Their ‘M72 World Tour’ Another Year – Setlist & Ticket Info

Metallica has announced that their M72 World Tour will officially be extended a third year and announced 21 North American shows that will span from April to June 2025.

The M72 Tour opened in Amsterdam in April 2023. Since then, Metallica has played to three million fans. Their 2024 shows will conclude in Mexico City in September.

As has been done historically, a portion of the proceeds from every ticket will be donated to charities through the band’s All Within My Hands foundation. Founded in 2017, All Within My Hands has raised over $15 million, which has been divided and donated in grants to career and technical education programs, to combat food security and to disaster relief efforts.

For all events at Soldier Field, the  NFL Clear Bag Policy  is in place. Approved bags are limited to:

• Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” or 30.5 x 15.25 x 30.5 cm. This includes clear backpacks, clear fanny packs and clear cinch bags that fit within the permissible dimensions.
• No buckles, grommets/hardware or décor can be concealing any part of the bag.
• One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag.Logo can only be on one side of the bag.
• Small, non-clear bags that do not exceed 4.5” x 6.5” in size, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium with a clear plastic bag.

All other bags that do not meet the bag guidelines above will be prohibited from entering the stadium.

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: coolers* (unless medically necessary), briefcases, diaper bags* (unless medically necessary), non-approved seat cushions* (unless medically necessary), luggage of any kind, computer bags and any non-clear bag larger than the permissible size (4.5" x 6.5")

*For questions about exceptions for medical reasons, please see below.

*Non-approved seat cushions include large traditional seat cushions that have pockets, zippers, compartments, or covers. Fans should ask for Stadium Security to have their seat cushion examined.

Medical Bags

Medical Bags or kits are acceptable and will be searched at the gate.

Diaper Bags

Diapers must be carried in a clear bag. Each member of a family, including children, would be allowed to carry an approved clear bag and a clutch purse into the stadium.

Field Access

Fans with field tickets should enter the stadium at Gate 0, located on the south end of the stadium.

Mobile Tickets

To prevent any potential connectivity issues, fans are encouraged to download their mobile tickets prior to arrival.

Rideshare drop-off is at the 18th Street turnaround exiting west off of the DuSable Lake Shore Drive ramp. Rideshare pick-up is at the intersection of S. Columbus Drive and E. Balbo Drive.

ADA Drop-Off and Pick-Up

The designated ADA drop-off and pick-up location is Gate 14 located on the east side of the stadium. An ADA placard or ADA license plate is required for access.

The Box Office, located across from Gate 10, will open at 10:00AM on event day for will call and walk up sales. Very limited tickets are still available.
