OUR DENALI VIDEO

The most faq’s, why should i book a trip through alaska air service.

Our family run operation excels in smaller, custom and personal touch experiences.

Every seat is a window seat. Every aircraft uses Bose premium noise cancelling headphones. Tour with Alaska locals. Perfect safety record. Tour options for every budget and schedule. In-flight communication system with personal narration by your professional pilot. 100% refund if your tour is cancelled by Alaska Air Service due to inclement weather or your ship is late and we cannot reschedule.

WHAT DO THE PASSENGER MIMIMUMS MEAN?

Some of our tours and aircraft have higher operating costs and need more travelers to share this cost. Some of these trips have a minimum number and we can’t book these flights until these minimums are met. Send us a message with your requests and we’ll work hard to meet them. We may suggest a full aircraft charter rate for that really personal experience or we can often pair you up with others in the same situation. We’ll even partner you up with other Alaska explorers and other great companies if we have to!

If you would like to book one of these tours but do not have the minimum number of passengers, please contact us and we will do our best to assist you. Also, if you are a cruise ship passenger, we suggest posting within the cruise ship boards to find additional passengers to book a trip with you.

CAN WE BOOK AT THE LAST MINUTE?

What is your cancellation policy.

Your confirmed reservation requires a 50% deposit to indicate you’ll be ready to travel on the dates you select. We aren’t looking to keep your money and realize unforeseen things can happen to your schedule. If you need to cancel prior to your date of travel you will get a complete refund, please let us know as soon as possible so we can free up the seats for another explorer! We usually have some flexibility in re-booking, but if we reserve a seat for you, you’ll have one waiting! We want you to be equally fair in return by advising us, as soon as possible, of any challenges in making your trip.

If your tour is cancelled by Alaska Air Service due to inclement weather or your ship is late and cannot reschedule your tour, we will provide you a 100% refund.

If you have questions regarding our cancellation policy or have any other questions please email us or call us at (907) 694-8687 .

We chose the All Alaska Classic tour. That option allowed us to drive a rental car from place to place and experience the Alaskan cities and countryside. We like that there were things we never would have thought to do, and it allowed time to explore the places we visited.

Flightseeing in Anchorage

Flightseeing tours depart from Anchorage year-round to places that, quite literally, will take your breath away. Visit areas of Alaska not accessible by any other means.

Aviation has long been a lifeline to rural Alaska ("the bush") – an integral part to the state's history and development. Today, the state remains the most "flyingest" in the country, with about six times as many pilots per capita as the rest of the United States. These pilots are proud to share the most wild areas of Alaska with visitors.

Take Flight!

No other mode of transportation delivers a feeling of adventure like climbing into a small plane and taking flight over Alaska’s wilderness. Mountains hurl into dark blue seas; tidewater glaciers – massive in scale –wind and grind their way from snow fields bearing crevasses of intense sapphire. The landscape in winter particularly lends itself to distinct, dramatic views, washed in the rosy alpenglow of the setting or rising sun.

Dependable operations offer year-round personalized flightseeing tours or charters from Anchorage via floatplane, fixed wing, and helicopter. Flights depart from Merrill Field and Lake Hood – the world’s busiest floatplane base – or nearby Girdwood.

In every direction, spectacular scenery abounds. To the northwest, Denali, North America’s tallest peak at 20,310 feet, looms large in the Alaska Range. Due south lies the Kenai Peninsula, home to Kenai Fjords National Park. The Chugach Range embraces Anchorage then stretches 710 miles east towards Prince William Sound and Valdez.

Flightseeing is definitely an unforgettable way to experience the magnificence of the Alaska landscape. Day trips and overnight adventures include bear viewing, fly-in fishing, hiking, and glacier landings.

Glacier & Wildlife Cruises

Get up close to a towering glacier and listen to the thunderous roar as a brilliant blue shard of ice crashes into the waters below.

Wildlife Viewing

Take a cruise from Icy Strait Point and enjoy Alaska's awe-inspiring scenery and the many excursion options that Norwegian Cruise Line has to offer. (B, L, D)

Day 8 - Thursday June 20th This is why visitors come to Alaska—to see glaciers as magnificent as Dawes—and getting there is half the excitement. From Stephens Passage, your ship will turn into the glacially carved fjord of Endicott Arm, the southern sister fjord to Tracy. However, Endicott is special. It’s the fjord less travelled, and at its head, Dawes Glacier. But first, the 31-mile fjord. Sheer granite walls. Plunging waterfalls. Spruce and hemlock trees clinging to the steep sides. It is the definition of pristine. Look for “bergy bits,” floating chunks of glacial ice, some looking more like sculptures, some with resting seals on top. Keep an eye open for bears, mountain goats and whales, too. As we approach the glacier, listen for thunderous cracks and have your camera ready. Dawes is an active tidewater glacier that recedes daily causing calving, where huge hunks of ice plunge into the sea. At 600 feet tall and a half-mile wide, this blue-hued, powerful glacier may be the highlight of your Alaska cruise. Juneau has been called “Alaska's peak experience,” certainly due in part to its unparalleled glacier viewing from such places as Tracy Arm Fjord, the Juneau Icefields and Glacier Bay National Park. Kayak up one of the area's many protected waterways, go flightseeing, tour historic downtown or try your hand at panning for gold. (B, L, D)

Day 9 - Friday June 21st In a single year from 1896 to 1897, this remote town along the Inside Passage, Skagway, grew from a few tents to a city of 20,000 gold seekers. Today, travelers come in search of other riches – to experience yesteryear along Skagway's charming boardwalk lined with buildings that replicate those Gold Rush days. (B, L, D)

Day 10 - Saturday June 22nd Its Tlingit Indian name, Kach Khanna, means “spread wings of the eagle.” Chances are you'll see one of these magnificent birds perched atop a Sitka tree. Thanks to its abundant rainfall, Ketchikan is surrounded by some of the world's most lush wilderness. (B, L, D)

Day 11 - Sunday June 23rd Get ready for amazing views and wildlife like nowhere else as you sail through the islands of Alaska's Inside Passage. The inside Passage is a coastal route for ships and boats along a network of passages which weave through the islands on the Pacific Northwest coast of the North American Fjordland. The most popular way to explore the Inside Passage during summer is by cruise ship. Over 2 million people take cruises each year in this region! Enjoy this day milling about on the cruise ship with your friends, or a long walk out on the ships boardwalk! (B, L D)

Day 12 - Monday June 24th Positioned between the snow-dusted North Shore Mountains and the rich, blue waters of the Pacific Ocean, Vancouver blends big-city sophistication with small-town charm. Don't miss Queen Elizabeth Park – a 130-acre civic arboretum accented with sculptures by modern artist Henry Moore. Today you will disembark the spirit and be transported to the airport in Vancouver for your return trip home. This will certainly have been the bucket list Alaskan adventure you have been dreaming of! (B)

New summer flights take off from Anchorage to East Coast

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport is bustling with summer travel and it is officially taking flight with the addition of four new seasonal flights connecting Alaskans to destinations across the country.

Passengers said they are thrilled about the convenience of the non-stop flights, eliminating the need for long layovers.

“It’s exciting! We’re very thrilled with it,” said Barbara Waters, who is traveling to New York for the first time with her daughter. “We’re going to hit some museums, including a rather risqué one and take some tours. We’re playing it by ear – just going to have fun.”

Anchorage’s largest airport has partnered with three major airlines to offer more direct flights to and from Alaska. Earlier this month, the airport announced the introduction of the following new routes:

  • Alaska to Detroit: Passengers can fly non-stop from Alaska to Detroit, making travel between the two regions more accessible.
  • Alaska to San Diego: Another addition is the non-stop flight connecting Alaska to sunny San Diego.
  • Alaska to Washington Dulles (DC area): Travelers can now reach the nation’s capital without any layovers, thanks to the new non-stop route from United Airlines.
  • Alaska to New York: As of Thursday, Alaskans can also fly non-stop to the city of New York.

Marilyn Romano, Alaska Regional Vice President at Alaska Airlines, emphasized the significance of these nonstop flights saying they are opportunities for Alaskans to enjoy traveling without the extended flight times.

“It gives people a quick gateway into this incredible state. Alaskans love to travel, and nonstop flights make it even more convenient for them,” Romano said.

Thursday’s inaugural flight to New York took off smoothly, with more than 100 passengers booked. The flight will operate daily throughout the summer, departing at 8 p.m. Travelers will enjoy the comfort of Alaska Airlines’ new 737 Max plane.
