Difference between a photo tour & workshops.

There is a typical question to understand what are the differences between both types. All our trips are focus to teach all participants , but as you can see in our list of trips, you can find different kinds of trips.

For us, teach & travel is essential on all trips. But we differentiate the tour according to the conditions we can find. Basically, a Photo Workshop is more focused to teach you than showing you a place , so the itinerary can change according to great opportunities that can appear through the trip.  A Photo Tour is focused to follow the itinerary and visit all places always that weather doesn’t make us change plans.

UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

Arizona 8 days, day 1 | scottsdale.

Welcome to Arizona! After our meet and greet in the late afternoon, we will discuss what our guests are trying to achieve in their photography, subject matters, styles and techniques, followed by our Welcome Dinner at one of our favorite southwest restaurants. (D)

Day 2 | Sedona - Red Rock Monoliths

After early check out we will depart for Sedona and our adventure. On our drive, we will discuss the elements that we will try to achieve in our photography, subject matters, styles, and techniques. Sedona is a desert town located a few hours north of Phoenix. It’s surrounded by stunning red-rock buttes, steep canyon walls, and pine forests. It’s known for its mild climate, the vibrant arts community and Red Rock State Park, which offers bird-watching, hiking, and amazing photographic opportunities.

We are on our way to photograph the red-rock monoliths named Coffee Pot Rock, Bell Rock, Cathedral Rock, and Thunder Mountain. Who gave them names is unknown, but the name of each major formation resembles its shape. For example, the character Snoopy from the popular Peanuts comic strip lies on top of his doghouse. Another is Lucy, also from the Peanuts comic strip. Then there are Coffee Pot Rock, Bell Rock, Cathedral Rock, Chimney Rock, Courthouse Butte, The Mittens, The Cow Pies, and the Rabbit Ears. From the front door of Chapel of the Holy Cross, take a peek at Eagle Head Rock as well as the Twin Nuns and Mother and Child Rock buttes. The Three Golden Chiefs and Capitol Butte can be seen from Coffee Pot. Next we’ll check-in to our award-winning resort hotel, tucked along the banks of Oak Creek Canyon. Be prepared to be wowed. (B)

Day 3 | Sedona - Page - Horseshoe Bend - Lake Powell

On day three, we check out early and head to northern Arizona and the town of Page, home to Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell, Horseshoe Bend, and the Colorado River. The 12-mile drive from Sedona to Flagstaff on State Route 89A is one of America’s most scenic drives, so we will be sure to enjoy the vistas and take some photos along the way. Upon our arrival in Page, we head first to Horseshoe Bend where the Colorado River runs through this huge 180-degree canyon. Horseshoe Bend is one of the most photographed locations in Page.

Arriving in the late morning or early afternoon is the perfect time to photograph Horseshoe Bend because the shadows are gone from the Colorado River. Later, we check in to our hotel and have lunch. In mid-afternoon, we take a Lake Powell Boat Tour (or Antelope Slot Canyon Boat Tour – depending on our schedule), where you will be treated to stunning and spectacular photo opportunities of the changing water lines as our boat glides through the slots. The sheer sandstone cliffs were formed by the Lower Jurassic Glen Canyon Group (Wingate, Kayenta, and Navajo Formations) and the Middle Jurassic Entrada and Romana Sandstones. Then ending the day with a gorgeous sunset at Wahweap Overlook. (B)

Day 4 | Antelope Canyons - Page

After breakfast, we depart early for one of the Antelope X Canyon Slot Canyons (The photography tour) . Next we will visit either Lower or Upper Antelope Canyons to photograph the canyon. (preferably the Upper canyon at the 2:30 tour) . The experience inside these canyons is quite impressive, with the endless shafts of light beaming through from above. We spend the afternoon reviewing images and discussing post-processing. In the late afternoon, we set out to explore other great photo opportunities in the area ending with a sunset shoot. (B)

Day 5 | Grand Canyon - South Rim

After breakfast, we depart early and head south to Grand Canyon National Park for some amazing morning photography. We will spend the morning and afternoon exploring the South Rim and the different viewpoints along the south rim of the canyon. After lunch we will take a drive to the east and photograph some more of the canyon making our way to Grandview Point for a Grand Canyon sunset. (B)

Day 6 | Grand Canyon - Grapevine Canyon - Red Rock Canyon

On day six, before check out we head out to Yaki point for one of the best spots for sunrise on the South Rim. After check out we head west towards Las Vegas stopping at Grapevine Canyon located on Spirit Mountain near Laughlin, Nevada to photograph the 900+ year old petroglyphs. The canyon has approximately 700 petroglyphs created by the Mojave Native Americans who called this their homeland for thousands of years. By mid afternoon we continue on our way to Las Vegas where we will check in to our hotel. After check in we will settle in for a short while and then on to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area for a spectacular sunset. You will clearly see how the Red Rocks got their name as the setting sun highlights the natural red stone. (B)

Day 7 | Lake Mead - Hoover Dam - Valley of Fire State Park

We will depart the hotel early to catch sunrise at Lake Meade and then head to The Hoover Dam. The Hoover Dam, the highest concrete dam in the Western Hemisphere, created the nation’s largest reservoir, Lake Mead. After the dam we will drive to the Valley of Fire State Park. The Valley of Fire derives its name from the red and pink sandstone formations, the Aztec Sandstone, which formed from shifting sand dunes 150 million years ago. We will spend the remainder of the day exploring the park and ending with a sunset at Rainbow Vista for a panoramic view of the Valley of Fire. In the evening we enjoy our Farewell Dinner, filled with great fun and laughter as we discuss all the highlights of the trip. (B, D)

Day 8 | Sunrise Red Rock Canyon - Departure day

Before breakfast we will enjoy one last sunrise at Red Rock Canyon. Afterwards, while enjoying breakfast we conduct our final group discussion and review. After a late breakfast, check-out and then we will drop you at McCarran International Airport. Here we will bid you farewell. (B)

(B) Breakfast, (L) Lunch, (D) Dinner, (E) Excursion

Your photography tour questions, answered, what should i bring on the photography tour.

As photography tours require plenty of gear, such as lenses, tripods, and, of course, your camera, we recommend you pack lightly. It’s always a good idea to bring extra memory cards, batteries, and chargers, and dress in layers for those chilly sunrise shots . Keep in mind suitcase space will be limited.

How big is the group on a photography trip?

The size of the group varies from tour to tour, but photography tour groups are usually small. Generally, travelers can expect anywhere from two people on a private tour, to up to 15. The size of the group will be adjusted to ensure optimal photography opportunities for everyone.

What photography skills do I need to join the tour?

While there are certainly photography tours out there for experts, generally speaking, it's expected that there will be some beginners in a group. Being familiar with your gear and knowing your camera’s basic settings is usually enough,  your guide will help with the rest!

Will there be a professional photographer on the tour?

Usually, there will be a professional photographer on the tour who will be available to answer questions, give tips, and share their knowledge. However, this isn’t always the case, and travelers should always check with their tour operators to learn who will be guiding the tour beforehand.

What is a Photo Tour like at Capture the Atlas?

Our goal is to provide the most enriching experience to every participant, both from a photography and a personal standpoint:

  • Expertise – We prepare our tours in destinations we know and have deeply researched and photographed before.
  • Locations – We customize an itinerary according to the most interesting locations to photograph.
  • Timing – We always do our best to plan the perfect timing for each location according to the best moments of light but remain flexible to make the most of each place according to the conditions.
  • You and your photography are the protagonist. We don’t show a few guidelines and leave the group to take our own photos. We provide with assistance according to your level and needs, sharing our vision and our advice with you, but also leaving your own time for exploration and practice.
  • The size of our groups is small  so we can deliver a bespoke instruction to each participant.
  • We  include post-processing lessons and photography talks, but the amount of this depends on the trip and conditions. In some trips, these are listed in a fixed schedule, whereas in others, they are left for times when conditions are not the best for shooting outdoors.

Who are Capture the Atlas Photo Tours for?

Capture the Atlas photo tours are aimed at photographers of all levels who are eager and curious to discover new places, improve their photography skills, and share unforgettable moments with a group of like-minded people.

We always try to understand each  participant’s goals and expectations , and give our most honest advice about the decision of joining or not. As we said, the skills don’t matter, but it’s important to be   willing to photograph, learn, and share. That way, we can make sure we are all on the same page and have the best possible experience during the tour.

Our photo tours are for you if:

  • You don’t mind waking up  early for shooting a beautiful sunrise.
  • Staying until late to chase the Northern Lights or the stars.
  • Bear unpleasant conditions like wind, snow or rain in order to capture a unique shot.
  • You are curious about discovering new places and learning new things.
  • You like sharing experiences with other like-minded people.

As you can see, our tours are not for everyone, but if you are in tune with these values, take for granted that you’ll enjoy a lifetime experience!

General Photography Tour Questions

Do i need expert photography skills to join one of your photo tours.

Not at all.

Our Photo tours are attended from casual hobbyists to seasoned pros.

The learning curve of each person is different, but we make sure that everyone can take something from our Tours; From getting started with photography to a more in-depth guidance about how to improve your vision or how to hone your processing skills to the next level.

Everyone brings their own experience and vision to the table and you won’t only benefit from the instructor-participant experience but also from the general group knowledge.

Is there any age limit to join a Photo tour?

There is no age limit to join a Capture the atlas Photo tour.

Every trip is different, but the ability to follow our Photography workshops is determined more by the general physical conditions than by the age.

In certain trips, adults above 70 years old might be required a medical physical examination.

All participants must be of legal age.

Is there a minimum physical fitness required?

A minimum physical fitness level is required to walk short distances up to a mile, carry your own gear and to get on and off vehicles.

There will be no strenuous or long hikes during the Photo tour unless mentioned.

Whenever there is a longer or more strenuous hike, this will be voluntarily and there will always be an option b for those who can’t or doesn’t feel like taking it.

What gear should I take to the Photography Tour?

The basic gear we recommend in any photo tour is:

  • DSLR or mirrorless camera and remote trigger.
  • Wide-angle lens, such as 14-24 mm.
  • Medium zoom lens, such as 24-70 mm.
  • Telephoto lens, like a 70-200 mm lens.
  • A sturdy tripod made of aluminum or carbon fiber and a ballhead.
  • Photography filters if you like taking long exposures.
  • Headlamp for shooting at night and in low-light conditions.
  • Extra batteries and memory cards for the whole trip.
  • Laptop, in case you want to edit and practice post-processing skills.

There will be an in-depth list of the best gear for the specific Photo Tour with our Welcome kit. You may also be interested in this guide where you can dive deeper into the best  photography equipment for traveling.

What clothes should I take to the tour?

Our advice is to wear always light and comfortable clothes.

We are photographing outdoors most of the times and constantly exposed to the elements, so we don’t recommend wearing jeans or heavy cotton clothes.

A good reference to be comfortable is to dress in layers , especially in places with cold conditions.

Layered clothing consists of using many thin and warm layers instead of a few thick layers. This has two advantages: 1) A better insulation and 2) more comfortability since you can always strip off layers if you are walking or if the temperature rises.

The number of layers and clothing will depend on the general conditions of each tour, but you’ll receive the guidelines with our advice inside our welcome kit.

Can I bring my drone to the Photo Tour?

In Capture the Atlas we are drone friendly.

Some of our destinations, like Kamchatka, are paradise to fly the drone with hardly any restrictions or people.

However, we do not take responsibility for your drone in case of an accident or a fine if you fly it in restricted areas under your responsibility.

How much free time is there on a Photo tour?

Photo tours are usually very intense, spending most of the time shooting and moving from one location to another.

Some of the free time is also filled with post-processing lessons. This way, we can make sure that everyone can enjoy a memorable photography workshop.

However, if you feel like skipping a sunrise, a night photography session or the processing lessons, it’s perfectly fine. Simply make sure that you are ready at the meeting points when we need to move to a different place.

If you want to explore the start and finish cities or doing some tourism, we recommend to allow extra time before or after the tour.

Can I join just for some part of the Photo Tour?

Unfortunately, we don’t offer the possibility of joining just for some part of the tour.

Whoever joins, must do it for the whole tour, with no reimbursement in case he/she decides to leave the tour earlier.

What is included and not included in the photography workshop price?

Since every Photo Tour is different, this will be listed in each Photo Tour’s page.

Generally, our tours include / don’t include:

  • Pick up at the airport
  • Transportation during the trip
  • Fuel and parking fees
  • Accommodation in shared rooms, single beds

Groups and Photo Tour Leaders

How big are the groups in your photography tours.

We prefer organizing our Photo tours in small groups to increase our attention and provide a bespoke assistance to each participant considering his/her skills and goals.

Our groups range from 6 to 12 people depending on the destination and type of trip.

How many Photo tour leaders will be guiding the Photo Tour?

There is a maximum ratio of 6 people per Photo Tour leader. Our average ratio is 4 people per instructor, but this will also depend on the Photo tour.

Will I know who is the photographer leader before the Photo Tour?

The Photo Tour leader/leaders will be announced in the specific Photo Tour page before the Tour.

Will the Photo tour leader help us with our photography during the tour?

At Capture the Atlas, Photo Tour leaders will be available 24/7 for you, whether it is for helping with your photography or for any other thing related to the Tour.

Photo Tour leaders will share their knowledge and vision with you, always challenging your photography creative process disregarding your skills and experience.

We believe that in each destination and scene there is a new challenge for everyone, so we strongly believe in sharing and growing during the days that we will spend together.

Is the tour conducted in English?

Yes, our tours are aimed at international participants and are conducted in English. We are also Spanish-speakers and Dan can also speak Italian in case you are more comfortable speaking in any of those languages.

Can my non-photographer significant other/friend join the Photo Tour?

We welcome non-photographer partners and friends to join our tours but always make a reminder: These are Photography tours where photography is the first goal and we prioritize the time for photography.

This usually means waking up before sunrise, staying until late if there are good shooting conditions, having lunch later than usual and other flexible conditions that are understandably linked to the nature of a Photography Tour. If your partner/friend is fine with that, he/she can sign up with you.

Accommodation during the tour

How is the accommodation during the photo tour.

This will depend entirely on the Photo Tour. Our goal is to provide with quality accommodation trying to offer two single beds in a shared room with private bathroom.

This is not always possible since some accommodation services are located in remote locations where we might be sharing the bathroom or even sleeping in tents, like in Kamchatka.

You can find the accommodation information for the trip in the specific Photo Tour page. If you have any additional questions feel free to reach out to us.

Do I need to pay extra for a single room if I am traveling by my own?

If you are coming solo, you will be assigned a shared room with another participant.

In some tours we can offer the possibility of a private single room for an extra amount, but please consider that this is not always possible.

Is there going to be a private bathroom in the room?

If there is a possibility of having a private bathroom in the room we will always go for this option.

However, in some accommodations like the wooden cabin houses in the Lofoten islands or some remote locations in Iceland, the bathroom will be shared by more people.

We will always provide this information in advance in the specific Photography workshop page.

Transportation during the photo tour

What type of ground transportation you use in your photo tours.

Depending on the Tour and the number of participants the transportation can vary from a large car to a passenger car or even bigger vehicles like the 8WD Kamaz in remote places like Kamchatka.

Our goal is that you can travel safe and as comfortable as possible during the entire Photo Tour.

Can I charge my camera/phone during  displacements?

Yes, we recommend bringing a USB battery charger to charge your camera batteries during the Photo Tour.

Diets & Meals during the photography workshop

Are meals included in the photo tour.

In most photography tours, meals will not be included. However, check the INCLUDED / NOT INCLUDED section of the particular photo trip.

Which type of restaurants are we going to?

We consider always the best options in each destination in terms of local and natural products, good quality-price, and general positive reviews.

Do you consider vegetarian options?

We always consider vegetarian options. Please let us know if you are vegetarian/vegan before the Tour so we can include more options.

Do you consider Celiac and other food allergies/diseases?

Of course. If you need to follow a gluten-free diet or have any specific allergy or food disease, please let us know before the Tour so we can adapt. There will be a specific section in the Photo Tour registration form about this.

Please consider that during our photo expeditions in some remote locations, it might be more difficult to find a variety of vegan or gluten-free options, so in these cases, we recommend that you carry some dried or canned food in case there are no options available.

Editing/Processing lessons & Photography Activities

Are post processing lessons included.

Post processing lessons will be included according to the instructions provided in each photo tour page.

In some places these will be adjusted to the weather, having the lessons when conditions are bad or hazardous to be shooting outside.

Which topics do you cover during your post-processing lessons?

We cover everything from the basics in the editing to advanced post processing techniques like Bracketing, focus stacking, focal blending, advanced color theory, etc.

We also cover the vision, something that usually goes overlooked in landscape photography and is key to develop our own artistic voice.

Do I need to take my own laptop?

Taking your own laptop to the Tour is a personal choice. It can help you follow some of the processing lessons and practicing with us during the free time.

Do you have any other photography activities included in the Tours?

In some Photo Tours there will be some room for other photography activities like photography talks, group constructive criticism, photography contests etc.

We strongly believe on fun ways of sharing and learning together.

Photo tours bookings, payments, and cancellations

What forms of payment do you accept.

We accept payments by credit card, bank wire transfer, Paypal, check, and Venmo/Zelle (for the USA).

What is the payment policy for your photography tours?

  • To reserve your spot, a deposit per participant is required at the time of registration. The deposit amount will depend on the Photo Tour; Some Photo Tours may require a higher additional deposit due to advance booking or transportation requirements.
  • Final Payment in FULL is required between 120 and 90 days before departure depending on the Photo Tour.
  • Payment in full is required when registration is completed less than 90 days before the departure date.

Do I need to book my Photography Tour in advance?

Our advice is always Yes. We can’t provide an estimation of when a Photo Tour will be filled; Sometimes it’s a matter of days while others there might be spots available for a longer period of time. We can’t predict group bookings either, so even if there are 4 or 5 spots available they can be filled overnight.

For that reason, we always recommend booking your spot as soon as possible and consider the option of purchasing cancel trip insurance in case you can’t attend the photo workshop for any reason.

What is the cancelation policy for your photo tours?

120 days or more before departure.

If your spot is filled by another participant, we’ll refund your deposit minus payment processing fees and $100 administrative fee.

If we cannot fill your spot, a $300 cancellation fee will apply, plus any additional costs incurred, as well as any fees that are charged by the suppliers providing the services included in the photo tour such as hotels, transportation, tours and others.

61-120 DAYS BEFORE DEPARTURE

If your spot is filled by another participant, we will refund your deposit minus payment processing fees and $100 administrative fee.

If we cannot fill your spot, a $500 cancellation fee will apply, plus any additional costs incurred, as well as fees, if applicable, that are charged by the suppliers providing the services included in the photo tour such as hotels, transportation, tours and others.

60 DAYS OR LESS BEFORE DEPARTURE OR ANYTIME AFTER DEPARTURE

If your spot is filled by another participant, there will be a $300 administrative fee charged and the rest of your payment will be refunded.

If we cannot fill your spot, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN and your deposit and tour payments will be forfeited.

*Regardless of the cancelation notice, if the participant receives any of our online courses upon signup, the amount of the course will be debited from the final refund.

You can find our complete cancelation policy information more detailed in our Terms and conditions .

Photo tour travel insurance and medical conditions

Do i need travel insurance for the photo tour.

Your safety is our priority, so travel insurance is mandatory to attend any Capture the Atlas Photo Tours.

The minimum coverage required is:

  • Accident & Sickness Medical Expense Coverage (minimum $100,000 USD)
  • Emergency Evacuation & Repatriation of Remains (minimum $200,000 USD)
  • Accidental Death / Dismemberment
  • Trip Cancellation Coverage

Where can I purchase the best travel insurance for the Photo Tour?

There are many providers in the market, and deciding which is the best travel insurance for you might be overwhelming.

We usually recommend Worldnomads , since they cover a wide range of activities besides the normal coverage, and Insuremytrip , as they help you compare among the best options and offer an advocate service to assist you in case you need to file a claim.

You can dive deeper into the best travel insurance for Photo Tours in this article we wrote on the best travel insurance companies in the market.

Is there any other insurance recommended for the Photo workshop?

In addition to the minimum coverage stated above, we also recommend:

  • Baggage and Personal Effects Coverage
  • Hospital Room and Board
  • Trip Delay / Interruption

Do I need to warn about any illnesses or disease?

Yes. In order to customize your activities and meals, and most important, be ready if any emergency arises, we need to know about illnesses, diseases, allergies or any other condition you might suffer.

This will be notified in writing in the Photo Tour Registration form that we provide once you reserve your spot.

Do I need to take any medical supplies?

We always recommend to carry personal medical items for managing colds, sore throats, headaches, blisters, diarrhea, and those type of minor illnesses.

If you have any special condition that requires to take regular medication, you should carry an appropriate supply.

  • Documentation

Which documentation do I need to submit to take part in the Photo Tour?

In order to take part in our Photography workshops, you need to provide:

  • Copy of your passport
  • Photo Tour registration form (Provided from our side once you book your spot)
  • Waiver signed (Provided from our side once you book your spot)
  • Copy of your Visa if necessary

What are the most important documents to check before the departure?

Besides the Visa whenever it is mandatory, the most important thing to check before the departure is your passport:

  • Please double check that it’s not expiring in less than 6 months by the time that you will be returning from the Photo Tour.
  • Make sure that your name, passport number, and birth date matches with the information in your flight ticket.

Do I need to process my own Visa for the Photo Tour?

We can’t process Visas on your behalf. However, we can walk you through the process to make it as easy as possible.

Please always make sure to check the requirements to see whether you need a Visa to visit the destination country considering your nationality.

Also, it’s always best to process your Visas at the earliest because the processing time can be long or delayed in some cases.

Photo tour flights and baggage

Are flights included in the price.

Flights are not included in the price of the Photo Tour.

Is airport transfer included?

Unless otherwise indicated, transfers from and to the airports are included in our Photography workshops.

What baggage should I take to the Photo tour?

In order to fit and travel comfortably, there is a maximum luggage capacity to be carried per participant. As a general rule, this luggage will be a Medium suitcase/bag of 24″-28″ (60-71cm) and a standard Camera bag.

Our recommend is taking one camera bag and one bag for clothes/personal items.

In addition, a small shoulder strap bag to take personal items is usually allowed on international flights.

Our suggestion is to pack smart and light: You will be carrying your bags in and out of transportations and up and down accommodations staircases.

What do you suggest for carry-on luggage?

Rules change depending on the country and even on the airport. Generally, we recommend you pack the following list of items in your carry-on:

  • Medications
  • Contact lenses solution
  • Camera gear

Tripods are considered as a likely blunt weapon in some airports, so we also suggest packing your tripod on your checked baggage just in case.

What happens if there is a delay on my flight and I arrive late?

In some destinations, like the Lofoten islands in winter, we suggest arriving at least a day earlier before the Tour starts since flights are sometimes delayed or canceled because of bad weather.

If you arrive later at the Photo workshop for any reason, we will do our best to accommodate so you can catch up with the group. However, bear in mind that if there is no option to accommodate, you will miss the Photo Tour and there will be no refund from our side.

This way, we strongly advice to prevent any possible delay communicating with us as soon as you believe that you could arrive later so we can prepare a possible solution.

Shall I arrive earlier at the Photo tour or stay longer?

You can arrive earlier or stay longer after the Tour, but the cost of this is not included in the Photo workshop.

Money and currency during the photography workshop

What is the best way to take money with me.

We always recommend having a mix of debit & credit card and cash for any Photo tour.

Before the start of the tour, please communicate to your local bank the time and destination of the tour so there is no issue once you try to pay or draw money with your card.

How much cash money do I need?

The amount of cash will depend on the destination and your personal expenses. Some places like Iceland and Lofoten widely accept payments by card whereas other remote places like Kamchatka accept only cash.

Where is the best place to exchange currency before the trip?

We always recommend to exchange currency in your local bank before the trip.

If there is no choice, a local exchange office in the destination would be the best option.

In any case, try to avoid exchanging currency in the airports since they usually charge the highest commissions.

Do I need to tip during the Photo Tour?

Tips are not included in the price of the Photo Tours and it is your personal decision to tip any of the local support partners or Photo Tour leaders.

As for restaurants, hotels and other services this also depends on the destination. In some places like Iceland tipping is not expected, and most of our other destinations don’t have a tipping social custom like in the United States.

General communication & Internet during the photo tours

Will there be internet coverage during the photo tour.

In most of the places that we visit, there will be cell phone signal and free Wifi in the accommodation.

However, there are remote locations like Kamchatka where there is no signal/internet and we can spend up to 3 days with no connection.

Am I able to use my phone overseas?

Please check with your cell phone provider before the tour the possibility of connecting overseas and if you need to pay for any extra services like roaming.

This will depend entirely on your phone, company, and destination.

What happens if there is no signal/coverage and there is an emergency?

We always carry a Garmin In reach Explorer + device in case there is an emergency or you need to communicate something important to any of your relatives during our Photo Expeditions.

This works via satellite even in the remotest locations you can imagine.

You can find all the in-depth information related to our photo tours and photography workshops in our Photo Tour terms and conditions .

Iceland Photo Tour 2014

"The Italy photo trip with Dream Photo Tours has been way above my expectations. Even if I had already traveled to Italy many times, they made me lived singular experiences. They set the mood for a smooth week with plenty of things to see, learn, eat, drink and obviously photograph. This had a positive impact to the group and we all remained friends since.

I will remember this week all my life."

Visma-Lease a Bike confirmed the answer to the question we’ve all been asking since April. Jonas Vingegaard will be at the Tour de France this summer to defend his title in another battle royale with Tadej Pogačar.

The Dutch toppers, winners of the past two Tours de France, released Thursday that Wout van Aert , Sepp Kuss , and Matteo Jorgenson would be there with Vingegaard when Le Tour rolls out of Florence next weekend.

Christophe Laporte, Tiesj Benoot, Wilco Kelderman, and Jan Tratnik complete an all-swinging “Tour 8” tasked with taking down Giro d’Italia champion Pogačar and challengers Primož Roglič and Remco Evenepoel.

“I am excited to start the Tour,” Vingegaard said Thursday. “The last few months have not always been easy, but I thank my family and Team Visma-Lease a Bike for their unwavering support.

“We have worked together to get to this moment, and of course, I am very excited to see where I stand,” Vingegaard said. “I feel good and very motivated.”

The news broken Thursday puts an end to months of speculation over Vingegaard after his crushing crash early April at the Itzulia Basque Country.

Visma-Lease a Bike kept a close lockdown on the full status of the 27-year-old’s comeback from a catalog of fractures and a damaged lung.

What version of Vingegaard shows up to the Tour de France on June 29 will be decisive to the shape of the whole race.

Team tempers expectations of Vingegaard: ‘We don’t know how far he can go yet’

Vingegaard will return to the Tour de France, but who knows how far he will go.

Visma-Lease a Bike feathered the brakes on expectations of Vingegaard scoring a stunning title hat trick after three months out of the peloton.

After initially asserting the Dane would only race if he was “100 percent ready” , team director Merijn Zeeman turned down the dial Thursday in a team release that talked “fighting for a good result.”

Vingegaard was only back training five weeks ago before a time-crunched altitude camp with teammates on Tignes.

“In the last few weeks, Jonas has shown what a champion he is, both mentally and physically,” Zeeman said. “Of course, we don’t know how far he can go yet.

“We are being cautious because he has not been able to race, and his preparation has been less than ideal, to say the least. But he will be there, healthy and motivated,” Zeeman said Thursday.

Van Aert’s return for his sixth-straight Tour makes for a shift from the team’s early plans after the Belgian suffered injuries in a crash at Dwars door Vlaanderen that were as horrific as those of Vingegaard.

The Tour de France only became an option for the 29-year-old after his disaster day in late March derailed his dreams for the cobbled monuments and Giro d’Italia.

“I am really looking forward to the Tour de France,” said Van Aert, who won the green jersey in 2022.

“Of course, this was not the plan initially, but after my development in the last weeks, I really wanted it, and the team agreed,” Van Aert said.

“Our main goal is, of course, to ride a top classification with Jonas. I want to contribute to that with an excellent team.”

Key roles for US flyers Kuss, Jorgenson

Sepp Kuss and Matteo Jorgenson both race the Dauphiné and Tour.

Visma-Lease a Bike will likely be playing “wait-and-see” on the reality of a Vingegaard title defense through the opening week of Le Tour .

U.S. duo Kuss and Jorgenson will be poised for key roles, whichever way things work out for the Dane.

Jorgenson, 24, has been rider of the season in his first year with Visma-Lease a Bike. Kuss has been off the bubble so far this summer and was forced to exit this month’s Critérium du Dauphiné early due to sickness.

However, reigning Vuelta a España champion Kuss has been a part of each of Visma-Lease a Bike’s seven grand tour victories and wouldn’t be benched for some sickness bug.

Visma-Lease a Bike will be racing in a special edition “Renaissance” jersey at the Tour de France.

Everyone at the squad will be hoping a “rebirth” is possible after a season of crisis .

The 2024 Travelers Championship gets underway Thursday at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. The 71-player field will compete for a $20 million purse with $3.6 million and 700 FedEx Cup points going to the winner.

New Englander Keegan Bradley took home the trophy last year. But he’ll have to hold off the likes of World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Ludvig Aberg and others to hold on to his title.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — China’s premier received a red-carpet welcome as he arrived Tuesday in Malaysia, the last leg of a regional tour, to celebrate a half-century of diplomatic ties between the two nations.

Li Qiang is the first Chinese premier to visit Malaysia since 2015. He flew in on an Air China jet from Australia and was received by Transport Minister Anthony Loke and other officials, the national Bernama news agency said. He then inspected a guard of honor before being taken to his hotel.

During his three-day visit, Li will hold talks with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, meet Malaysia King Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar, attend a groundbreaking ceremony for a China-backed rail link project and a dinner to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

Li, China’s second-most powerful leader after President Xi Jinping, last week became the first Chinese premier to visit New Zealand and then Australia in seven years. He ended his Australian tour earlier Tuesday in the west coast city of Perth, where he has focused on China’s investment in critical minerals, clean energy and business links.

Perth is the capital of Western Australia state, which provided 39% of the world’s iron ore last year. Iron ore is one of Australia’s most lucrative exports. Analysts say the commodity was spared the type of trade bans Beijing imposed on other Australian exports as bilateral relations soured three years ago because the steel-making ingredient was crucial to Chinese industrial growth.

Local tourists cover their heads to shield from the heat as they buy drinking water bottles, in New Delhi, India, Tuesday, June 18, 2024. A monthslong heatwave across swathes of India has killed more than 100 people and led to over 40,000 suspected cases of heat stroke in the last three and a half months, a Health Ministry official said Thursday. (AP Photo/Manish Swarup)

While in Perth, Li inspected iron ore miner Fortescue’s clean energy research facility. Fortescue’s chairman Andrew Forrest said that Li was interested in the company’s plans to produce iron ore without carbon emissions and potentially “green iron.”

“I think China chose us because it’s not just the best technology to go green in Australia, it’s the best technology to go green in the world, and we’ve got real examples of it in trains, ship engines, trucks,” Forrest told The Associated Press before the visit.

The Perth facility is testing technology on hydrogen, ammonia and battery power for trains, ships, trucks and heavy mining equipment.

Li also visited Chinese-controlled Tianqi Lithium Energy Australia’s processing plant south of Perth to underscore China’s interest in investing in critical minerals. The plant produces battery-grade lithium hydroxide for electric vehicles.

Australia shares U.S. concerns over China’s global dominance in critical minerals and control over supply chains in the renewable energy sector.

Citing Australia’s national interests, Treasurer Jim Chalmers recently ordered five China-linked companies to divest their shares in the rare earth mining company Northern Minerals.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese wrote in an opinion piece published in Perth’s main newspaper, The West Australian, on Tuesday that his government was acting to ensure foreign investment “continues to serve our national interests.”

“This includes reforming the foreign investment framework so that it’s more efficient, more transparent and more effective at managing risk,” Albanese wrote.

Forrest said that the national risk from Chinese investment in the critical minerals sector was overstated.

“Australia should be producing all the critical minerals in the world, because we’re a great mining country, so by all means let’s go in harder after critical minerals, but let’s not do it with panic because there is no reason for panic,” Forrest said.

Qiang and Albanese flew to Perth in separate planes late Monday after holding delegation meetings in the national capital, Canberra. Both leaders attended a roundtable of business leaders in Perth representing resource companies, including mining firms BHP and Rio Tinto.

Chinese premiers and Australian prime ministers met annually from 2013 until 2019, after which Beijing banned minister-to-minister contacts over the previous conservative government’s call for an independent investigation into the causes of and responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Relations had already been strained by Australian legislation that banned covert foreign interference in Australian politics and the exclusion of Chinese-owned telecommunications company Huawei from rolling out the national 5G network because of security concerns.

Beijing initiated a reset in relations after Albanese’s center-left Labor Party was elected in 2022.

The annual meetings resumed when Albanese visited Beijing in November.

Albanese revealed that his office had complained to the Chinese Embassy about the behavior of two officials during a media event with the two leaders after Monday’s meeting.

Australia had “concerns” about two Chinese officials who stood in the way of cameras taking images of well-known Australian journalist Cheng Lei sitting with other reporters as the leaders spoke, Albanese said.

Cheng spent more than three years in detention in China for breaking an embargo with a broadcast on a state-run television network while she was based in Beijing. She was released last year after interventions by the Australian government and now works for Sky News Australia.

“There should be no impediments to Australian journalists going about their job, and we’ve made that clear to the Chinese Embassy,” Albanese said.

China-born Cheng told Sky News on Monday that the officials “went to great lengths to block me from the cameras and to flank me.”

“I’m only guessing that it’s to prevent me from saying something or doing something that they think would be a bad look. But that in itself was a bad look,” Cheng said. The embassy didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Taylor Swift to end record-breaking Eras Tour in December, singer announces

photo 33 tours

Sorry Swifties, Taylor Swift will not extend her record-breaking, behemoth Eras Tour to 2025.

"This is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is going to end in December," the singer said sentimentally during her "All Too Well" speech before the 10-minute song.

"This tour has really become my entire life, it's taken over everything, like I think I once had hobbies," she joked in her bedazzled red and black jacket. "All I do when I'm not on stage is sit at home and try to think of clever acoustic song mashups and think about what you might want to hear."

Her acoustic section has become a fan-favorite, unique to every city. The singer began mashing up songs in 2024. Swift still has about 30 songs in her vast discography left to perform.

"You have done so much to be with us," she continued. "You've made plans so far in advance. You planned what you were going to wear. You memorized lyrics. You got yourself here. You figured out parking. You figured out transportation, and I want spend the 100th show just thinking about that and living in that moment and being here with you, and just know I appreciate every single ounce of effort that you put in to be with us when this show reaches triple digits in shows. So thank you!"

A show that 'spans 18 years of music'

In November 2022, Taylor Swift announced her magnum opus on social media , "I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!) The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the US, with international dates to be announced as soon as we can!"

The original post only showed 27 concerts over the course of a year. The demand quickly escalated that number to 66 shows for year one and 86 for year two in 22 countries (U.S., Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Australia, Singapore, France, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Poland, Austria and Canada).

With album announcements , music video reveals, special guests appearances and a whole new "Tortured Poets" set unveiled in Paris, France, the tour has continued to evolve and impress. Swift has broken attendance records for many stadiums across the world and countries have welcomed the singer in innovative ways. A hidden language of Swift-ese has developed in the form of friendship bracelets, custom concert chants ("1, 2, 3 let's go b****" and "Where you going Taylor?") and unforgettable dance moves. Tens of thousands of fans log on to watch livestreams every concert night anticipating Swift's outfits and custom mashups of songs not included in the massive 46-song set list .

More: A year of the Eras Tour: A look back at Taylor Swift's record-breaking show

Swift's concert movie bypassed production studios as the singer worked directly with AMC as a distributor bringing fans dancing and singing in the aisles. The movie is available to watch on Disney+ .

No word on if she will release a second movie with the newly scrambled show and additional set.

Swift is only a third of the way through her 51 European stops. In the fall, she will come back to North America, heading to Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis in October and November and then Canada. Her last show for 2024 is on Dec. 8 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Reggaeton singer Don Omar reveals he has cancer ahead of additional tour dates

Don Omar In Concert - Duluth, GA

Reggaeton star Don Omar revealed he has cancer Monday in an Instagram post with a photo of what appears to be him wearing a hospital bracelet.

Omar, who is from Puerto Rico, captioned the post in Spanish, saying that "tomorrow" he will be cancer-free. There were no additional details about his diagnosis or treatment.

"Good intentions are well received," he wrote, according to the translation. "See you all soon."

The message was posted only hours after Omar posted a video of him auditioning dancers for the second leg of his Back to Reggaeton tour. New shows resume in August, starting with a stop in Oakland, California.

Omar, whose real name is William Omar Landrón Rivera, rose to popularity in the early 2000s. He has released eight studio albums since 2003 and has won two Latin Grammy awards out of 13 nominations. He also spent many years famously feuding with fellow singer Daddy Yankee, despite having collaborated and toured together early in their careers. The two men posted that they buried the hatchet in separate Instagram posts in December, according to Billboard .

"I wish you the best for you and your family," Omar wrote . "Thank you for your competitiveness and admirable discipline but even more thank you for what you did for our music.”
