Eminem Heads Out on European Tour This Summer

Eminem  is heading back on the road. On Tuesday (Jan. 30), the rapper used his social media accounts to announce the coming of the European portion of his Revival Tour, which is set to begin in Oslo, Norway on June 30.

The tour is eight dates, and it will see Em hit everywhere from Norway to Germany to Italy  at the peak of summer. Given the name of the trek, it will obviously be a tour focused on his polarizing, recently released Revival album .

While the reception to Em's latest album might have been mixed , the rapper, who recently hit the studio with Mike Will Made-It , will more than likely face a crowd of incredibly enthusiastic fans nonetheless. After all, he is a rap god.

Before embarking on his tour of Europe, Em will be performing at the 2018 Coachella , a festival set to include The Weeknd, Migos, Beyonce and more. Clearly, Em's up for a huge 2018.

Tickets for the European portion of Eminem's Revival Tour go on sale Friday (Feb. 2) at 9 a.m. GMT. You can cop tickets at Ticketmaster.

Eminem kommer till Sverige – för första gången på 17 år

Den 2 juli kommer världens bäst säljande rappare till Stockholm. Det blir hans första framträdande i Sverige sedan 2001.

Nu är det spikat – Eminem återvänder till Sverige. Den 2 juli når världsturnén ”Revival Tour” Friends Arena i Stockholm. Biljetterna släpps fredagen den 2 februari klockan 10.

Revival-turnén inleds på Coachellafestivalen i Kalifornien i april, och når Europa senare under sommaren.

Albumet Revival släpptes förra året och gästas av bland andra Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Pink och Alicia Keys. Albumet var Eminems åttonde album i rad som gick direkt in på Billboard-listans förstaplats.

Eminem är en av världens mest framgångsrika rappare genom tiderna. Han slog igenom med albumet "The Slim Shady EP" 1999 och var under 2000-talet den bäst säljande artisten i hela USA. En hel generation växte upp med singlar som "Stan" och "Lose yourself".

Eminem Announces "Revival" European Tour Dates

Fans will have plenty of chances to see Eminem live in concert this year. After landing a series of headlining festival gigs –  Coachella in April, Boston Calling in May, and  Bonnaroo  and  Governors Ball in June – Eminem is set for a busy Summer ’18 with a newly announced European  Revival  Tour.

With nine shows beginning June 30 in Norway and closing on July 15 in the U.K., Eminem will be finishing up in London’s Twickenham Stadium, which has hosted various NFL games and has a capacity of 82,000.

I sommar tar Eminem sin Revival Tour till Sverige. Konserten blir artistens första liveframträdande på svensk mark sedan 2001.

Han har femton Grammypriser, ett flertal MTV EMA-statyetter och en Oscar. Att Eminem är vår tids största hiphop-stjärna är det inget snack om. Med nya tokhyllade plattan Revival lär han enbart befästa sin plats i toppen som den bäst säljande artisten inom hiphop någonsin. I sommar väntar turné - den här gången med ett minst sagt efterlängtat stopp i Sverige.

What can be said about Eminem that hasn’t already been said? The most successful rapper of all time has sold nearly a quarter of a billion albums and changed the world of music and pop culture forever.

From his less-than-humble beginnings to the pinnacle of notoriety and superstardom, Marshall Mathers has truly seen it all.

Born in 1972 to his mother Debbie and father Bruce, Mathers’ family broke apart soon after forming. His father abandoned his wife and infant son and moved to California. Mathers and his mother moved between Detroit and Missouri, typically changing homes every year or so and living with family members. When he was a teenager, Mathers wrote letters to his father that all came back with “return to sender” marked on them.

For most of Mathers’ youth, he and his mother lived in a poor neighborhood in Detroit, and he was often targeted for bullying. But he had a creative outlet: He loved storytelling. He first dreamt of becoming a comic book artist, but then he discovered rap. The first rap song he ever heard was “Reckless” featuring Ice-T, given to him by his mother’s half-brother Ronnie. Ronnie played a positive role in Mathers’ childhood, mentoring him and giving him emotional support.

Marshall repeated ninth grade three times before dropping out of Lincoln High School at age 17. He had already begun rapping by this time and frequently snuck into the neighboring high school with his friend to compete in freestyle rap battles during lunch. Weekends saw them performing at open mics on West 7 Mile Road, the epicenter of Detroit’s underground rap scene. He spent much of his free time working on rhymes for different words in the English language.

Meanwhile, Mathers fought constantly with his mother, who was described as having a “very suspicious, almost paranoid personality” by a social worker. In 1987, Debbie invited runaway Kim Scott into their home. Marshall and Kim began a tumultuous relationship several years later. By 1988, he had adopted the stage name MC Double M and was recording demo tapes and appearing in music videos. Mathers’ uncle Ronnie committed suicide in 1991, a traumatic experience that caused Mathers to stop speaking for several days.

He formed The Dirty Dozen, also known as D12, in 1996 — the same year he released his debut album, Infinite, which was a commercial failure. DJs who rejected his tracks asked him why he didn’t just go into rock and roll, which fueled him to craft darker, angrier tracks. He and Kim lived in a dangerous neighborhood and were robbed multiple times, and Marshall was working for minimum wage washing dishes. Before Christmas of that year, he had been fired and attempted suicide.

In 1997, Mathers developed an alter ego called Slim Shady and recorded the Slim Shady EP, released by Web Entertainment. The EP attracted some attention, even getting mentioned by hip-hop magazine The Source in 1998.

After placing second in a nationwide rap battle in Los Angeles, Mathers’ EP got noticed by Dr. Dre. The two began working on The Slim Shady LP, which was released in February 1999. It went triple platinum by the end of the year. The album’s violent lyrics were an outlet for Eminem’s anger and frustration, and they struck a strange chord with the public.

The next decade was all his. His second full-length album, The Marshall Mathers LP, came out in May 2000 and sold nearly 2 million copies before the end of its first week. Mathers toured that year with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Ice Cube. In 2001, he was the only guest on Jay-Z’s album, The Blueprint.

In May 2002, Eminem released The Eminem Show, the best-selling album of the year with 27 million copies sold worldwide. Encore followed in 2004, showcasing more of his political commentary. His subsequent albums include Relapse, Recovery, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, and, of course, the soundtrack to the semi-autobiographical blockbuster film 8 Mile.

Eminem’s career was relatively quiet in the late 2010s, until the earth-shaking moment he criticized then-President Trump in the 2017 freestyle “The Storm.” This represented a comeback moment for Eminem — his support for Black Americans resonated at a time when social unrest and inequality were becoming highly talked about.

“EMINEM.” Seeing his name lit across the stage was mind blowing. As if natural instinct, everyone started chanting, ‘EM-IN-EM, EM-IN-EM’, until the legend himself took the stage, wearing a get up that only the King of Rap could pull off.

Without a breathe of a moment, he jumps directly in to rapping, setting the crowd on fire as most of us have been waiting in the stadium for hours, and some of us have been waiting for years. As far back as we can remember, Eminem was there, withstanding the wrath of time and still being able to top the charts many, many years later.

The audience was as real as he is, old, young (too young), male, female and people of all colours were there. I could see it in their eyes, as they threw their hands to the beat and mouthed every word along with him, that at this moment, this is all they have ever wanted. When songs like “Lose Yourself”, “Stan”, “Not Afraid” and a few others were sung, tears flowed freely, because like every other person, those songs were a part of various struggles and difficulties you or someone you are close to have faced. That’s not to say the concert is a downer, no, not at all. Once you’ve wiped your tears away, “Without Me”, “The Real Slim Shady”, “Rap God” and more is performed, to get your body moving, dancing, jumping, flashing, whatever you are in to. Aside from the upbeat tracks, his stage presence is something else, he manages to be filthy and charming all at the same time.

And by the end of the show, you’re speechless. Firstly, because you’re in shock due to the fact that you have never experienced a level of such greatness, and secondly, because your voice is gone as rapping alongside the one and only Eminem, is not as easy as he makes it look.

Eminem in concert in LA was enough to make me extraordinarily happy, but for him to perform some hits from the Recovery album made the entire night absolutely worth it!! It was nostalgic for him to perform his old hits, taking me back to elementary and junior high school days, but Recovery was the album that solidified my love and appreciation for his artistry, talent and heart!

Em's portion of the show was absolutely fantastic, he is truly a lyrical genius and he never fails to deliever with an energy and intensity that is infectious! I would have been more than happy (and actually would have preferred) if the show was just his performance, but I can fully understand why he would need someone to fill some time to give him a break between his sets. When he performs it feels like he is literally pouring his heart and soul out on the stage and that has to be beyond exhausting for him, hence the need for Rihanna. Her part was ok. The venue (the Rose Bowl) was an experience in itself. Parking wasn't as bad as I was anticipating, but it was very expensive. The arena was packed solid, but I never felt too overwhelmed by people even though I was on the floor. It was just great to be surrounded by people who were enjoying the concert. If you ever have a chance to see Em in concert, I would say, GO!

I have been a huge Eminem fan since he came out with Cleaning Out My Closet, I was very very young at the time so I've been a fan since I was a little kid. I was very much looking forward to my first Eminem concert, and on 8/16 at MetLife Stadium, my dream finally came true. The website said they would start at 7:30, but they didn't start until like 8:40, but the whole concert made up for it. Eminem was amazing, I honestly have no words to describe the experience except that it was very unreal and I had to pinch myself a few times just to make sure this was really happening to me. He played a lot of his songs off his first two albums and then some songs off of Recovery & MMLP2. For anyone who had seats or had Floor B GA, you really missed out on an amazing view & concert. The view from the 200s & 300s probably sucked, they could only probably see Eminem & Rihanna from the jumbo screens. Rihanna was great too, she was very sweet & funny live, as well as sexy & seductive. Eminem was funny and his stage presence was wonderful. This was an experience I'd LOVE to have again, an experience many should get to enjoy and from the amazing view in GA. I do hope he goes on tour again in the next year or so.

Fucking amazing!! Man’s music has saved my life so many times! A real artist and an incredible lyricist... unbaleaveablw how much talent Marshal has. Tears dropped as he sung songs that touched my heart and took me back from the grave... I love him for all he has done for me an my recovery... if only I was able to thank him in person... In rehab they say to believe in power that’s greater than me, as my god. Eminem is that god to me. A powerful man that I know has saved so many lives just from his music. The show was the best show I’ve ever attended. Only issue was I wasn’t quick enough to get a ticket I the pit. I would have rocked up at 6am before the concert just to get into the front row and thank the ma. For everything he has done for my life..

I have been a fan of Eminem in 1999, I was leaving 4 meps,right be4 basic training and i was getting picked up at 11am, and i was drinking about 6am and in Chicago there was a video channel that played diff videos 24/7 around 6ish am i saw his video i just don't give af,and i was like hell ya a white boy.Then in basic on a Sunday while some people went 2 church i snuck outta the barreks and bought a walk men cd player and they had the SSLP there so i grabbed that,and that helped get me threw basic training, and when i got 2 my unit i bought a z28 97,and got a system put in it and the MMLP came out and the bass use 2 make my whip shake,but i no lots of what he talks about cuz ive had so many close friends get killed in drive buys lots i no that oded,i was hooked on pills,lot of what he says i feel, like i was the only white kid growing up in my part of chi,so ive been a stan sence be4 stan ever came out, EMIN3M 4LIFE. Where do I start, right let’s try.... I’ve been lucky enough to see Eminem 3 Times now, first time was v festival where he was absolutely superb and stole the show. Second was at Wembley, where yet again he smashed it, and too bring out dre was unbelievable and the crowd went insane, personally thought, u are not topping that.... but now to twickenham, where I didn’t think he could possibly get any better or fulfill his thousands and thousands of fans, but how stupid was I haha, not only delivers the best show/concert I’ve ever been to and seen but upped the anti and performs the best I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a few acts, not to finish there, but brings out not just 50 cent but ed sheeran also and the crowd just goes insane and lifted the roof off....

I FINALLY got to see Eminem live after being a fan since day one. What can I say that will do the performance justice? He was AMAZING! Everything that I ever imagined in my mind an Eminem concert would be, well it was 10 times better than that. He was on point with his flow, the sound was awesome, the stage design was great too but honestly I didn't even pay that much attention to that because I was focusing on him the entire time. It was a long time coming for me to see him live and man did he exceed my expectations. Few shows have ever hit that top mark for me and wow he did it. There really are no words that I can say that will give him the credit he deserves for being an amazing artist and performer. All I can say is if you get a chance to watch him, DO IT! You will not be disappointed. I can't wait to be able to watch him again!

Marshal a.k..a Eminem, you are the best music star ever! I listen to your music everyday becuase I love how you put your anger and pain into the words of your songs, "I'm Sorry Mama, I never meant to hurt you, I never meant to make you cry" is one of the best emotional phrases you have used even though you think you have hurt them they will always love you and make sure you are safe. I will always buy your albums when they are released and even try and come to one of your concerts, hopefully meaning I get to meet you and ask for a picture with you and ask you nicely to sign my albums and posters I have. You are my favourite singer of all time. I am your biggest fan ever!

Eminem is epic. Eminem live is mind blowing! Live he performs a great variety of songs from all of his albums, mixing in some of his old stuff which brings feelings of nostalgia with his newer stuff which sounds great. He has got to be one of the best rappers of all time and the fact that he writes all his lyrics himself gives the songs depth and meaning. He's a lyrical genius! Watching him live is a roller coaster of emotions from jumping up and down and going wild to swaying your hands in the air with a sing-a-long. Even though Wembley held thousands he still performed like it was to each and every one of you, interacting with the crowd and showing off his great sense of humor. Eminem is amazing and I would highly recommend seeing him live, there's no feeling like it.

Revival Tour: Eminem.Pro report from Eminem’s Stockholm show

In July we went on Eminem’s Revival Tour and prepared an exlusive report from the concert in Stockhom.

Recently I’ve been lucky enough to visit several Eminem’s Revival tour concerts. Marshall’s shows are always epic and they give you a lot of things to think about. If only you could see the WhatsApp and Telegram chats of the part of our staff that took part in the journey, even now, 4 weeks later, we can’t stop talking about our impressions. It’s a perfect demonstration of the level of emotion his performance leaves behind.

One of the most incredible Eminem shows I’ve been to was his concert in Stockholm, which took place at the “Friends Arena” on July 2nd. If you want to know why — read my full review.

My friends keep wondering: “Why do you go to shows of the same artists so often? The performances are the same”. After going to dozens of shows and festivals I can say for sure — that’s not true! Each concert is unique and leaves tons of great memories.

I had the chance to visit Eminem’s show back in the time of his “Recovery” album, when the giant E-shaped trampolines were on the stage, then his MMLP2 shows with the enormous boombox, and now the Revival tour concerts. None of them can be compared. They are completely different: from set-lists to dialogues. They have only one thing in common: every time Marshall gives his all and displays an unforgettable performance to his fans.

January 21st, Russia. When numerous European sources announced Eminem’s upcoming Revival tour, the first thought was: “Must go”. We just needed an official announcement from Em to start planning and packing for a new journey. The announcement followed shortly.

We were eager to visit the shows in Italy and London, but that plan failed. So the next big thing was to visit his concerts in Germany and the Netherlands.

“He’s got a date on my Birthday! How about Stockholm?” I don’t know who’s idea was to go to Sweden to see Eminem, but the show turned out to be one of the best and most memorable for me.

Ticket sales started on February 2nd at 10 a.m. (GMT +3), and, based on my previous experience, I expected them to sell out in a blink of an eye. I was f___ing right! Constant refreshing of Ticketmaster page didn’t help — no tickets. I was a bit upset, but, hey, better luck next time!

About the same time Netherlands ticket sales started, and booking them was no problem. Later I’ve decided to check Ticketmaster once again, and what did I see? “Eminem VIP” tickets to the concert in Stockholm!

Although I had no problem of getting it, I’ve never treated myself with VIP-access, except for a few times I got these tickets as a present. I have always preferred the standard admission tickets, to come earlier, to be first in line and eventually to be in the first row.

But this time I had no choice, so I bought VIP tickets. The fact that our tickets granted us an early entrance, of course, made us happy. A week prior to the concert we received letters from organizers, which contained a detailed description the code of conduct during shows, instructions about using early access and information about receiving gifts from Eminem.

And half of Bad meets Evil climbs the stage

“So right now, ladies and gentlemen, I wanna all of you up! [We are standing, bro] If you know “Hell: The Sequel” album, make some motherfucking noise!” [Daaaah!! Who doesn’t know it?] And we all were screaming. So loud that by the end of the show we could barely speak.

I adore life performances of “Fast Line” during Eminem’s concerts. Those two mad rappers running across the stage while doing crazy verses is a precious moment.

Royce was on stage, rapping his verse so fierce that the stage might have been broken that night. And when Em rushed to the stage to rap his verse, with its speedy flow, things heated up even more. When Royce performs his verse, you’re thinking: “Damn, it’s so cool, can’t beat that”, and then Em comes out… These two do unbelievable things on stage.

Before leaving Em shook Porter’s hand “Stockholm, make some motherfucking noise. If you didn`t buy “Book of Ryan” [Royce’s latest album], go buy this shit, cause this shit is fire!”

Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh

The last track off “Revival” that night was “River”. Of course I wanted to hear it live, but even more I wanted to hear it being performed by Em and Ed Sheeran.

Unfortunately, only the show in London had guest appearances of Ed and 50 Cent.

“Ladies, help us to sing this shit. Fellas, you may help, too”, — Em asked the whole stadium. “Sing it really loud! I wanna hear everbody!”, — said Porter. I enjoyed the live version of “River” much more than the album one. In the end we heard sounds of thunder from the video. So cool!

After “River” Em started rapping his hit single “The Monster”, which was recorded with Rihanna for “The Marshall Mathers LP2”. It would be better to hear the chorus performed by Skylar Grey rather than the recording of Rihanna’s voice. I don’t know why Em didn’t ask her. I think her voice would have been perfect for this song. Traditionally, he performed the whole song.

Before the finale the guys chatted with the audience some more.

Mr. Porter: Ok, ladies and gentlemen, I need you to say “Yooohooo”, one, two, three. That’s cool, I like it, and you? I saw your face, you liked it! One more time! One, two, three! Ok, let’s do this, on the count of three say “Shadyyyy”! One, two, three! [Shaaaddddyy!] One, two, three! [Shaaaddyy!!] There he is!

[ There goes Em ]

M r. Porter: I ask you something. So, check this out. I think the side over here [left one] is louder than side over there [right one]. Before you cheat. Eminem: I won`t cheat.

Mr. Porter: I know, I know you. Eminem: Hold on, first of all, are you saying that this side right here is louder than this motherfucking side? Ha!

Mr. Porter: Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. I’m saying this side over here is louder than this side over there. One more time… Eminem: Hold on, this side over here, make some noise! Holy shit! Jesus Christ, I want you to make some motherfucking noise! Holy shit, so many people right there! Jesus Christ, I want you to make some motherfucking noise! [the stadium roars] Oh, shit, there is a lot of motherfucking people in here tonight. It appears to be a lot of fucked up people in this crowd tonight. [Yeaaaahhh!]. Wait a minute, hold on, wait, that seems like half. Is there only a half of you that fucked up? How many people in this building are just fucked up mentally? … Because you all here! [Hell YEAHHHH!!]

Mr. Porter: Do you wanna take me back in time when we were fucked up? How is that feel? Alchemist: I think it’s a good idea.

Mr. Porter: You think so? Alchemist: Yeah.

Mr. Porter: How about this? How about we take you back when we used to be fucked up? Eminem: I don’t know, man, I don’t know. Yo, Stockholm, everybody, here in the middle, in the back, up on top, everybody here, in the front, on the sides, in the back, can we take you back when to the time when we used to get fucked up?!

Shady’s back, Tell a friend!

Eminem leaves the best for last. Once again he let Shady out to play and performed his classic hits “My name is”, “The Real Slim Shady” and “Without me”.

If you were there with us, I guarantee you would scream and shout as much as we did, because it’s impossible to hold those kind of emotions. The song “Without Me” with his “na-na-na-na-na-na-na” makes the crowd go wild. 5 minutes of pure excitement and mischief with the real Slim Shady.

And then, suddenly the jokes are over, cause it’s time for the curtain to go down. Eminem has been entertaining us for more than an hour with the best songs from various time periods of his long career. By the end of the show, everyone, not just Eminem is a little sad. An hour and a half is definitely not enough, but then, you can never get enough of Eminem, his energetic and passionate live performance is out of this universe.

“Hey, is this the loudest crowd we’ve ever had? Is this the loudest crowd we’ve ever had? [Yeaaahhhhhhhh!!] Holy shit, oh yeah, it is!”, — Says Em “Stockholm, since we’ve been over here, you know, we realized that you are real fans. Ok, we would just like to say that we appreciate you for your support for all these years”, — Added Porter.

Eminem: “Yeah, man, listen, Stockholm, before we get out here this last song I wanna dedicate to everybody in this motherfucker who has been with us from day one, who has been through all the bullshit, Stockholm, this song is for you”.

The stadium became silent when the first notes of “Not Afraid” were played by the band. That is until Eminem broke the silence, performing his powerful anthem. An enchanting moment. “60 thousand people all jumping out their seat”, as one of his songs goes.

The performance was done, Em waved his hand, showed us a peace sign and left the stage quickly. His band continued to play the “Not Afraid” theme. We were standing there happy and excited, because not one Eminem show ends without one moment. Without one opportunity. An opportunity for the fans to hear the song that is well-known by everyone, even if you are not an Eminem fan.

The band was still playing, with the crowd chanting “Lose Yourself, Lose Yourself”. This time the pause between “Not Afraid” and “Lose Yourself” was very small, just a few seconds. On his previous concerts it was much longer, up to several minutes.

The stage turned into a starry sky. The band began to play familiar notes. We were ready to burst with ovations. Em didn’t keep us waiting too long, he stormed on stage and began spitting the intricate circuit of interconnected bars forming the beautiful sound of “Lose Yourself” that earned the song an Oscar.

After performing “Lose Yourself” Eminem hang out on stage for a while, made his signature dance moves and then was on his way, thanking his faithful audience.

“Stockholm, thank you so much for meeting us! We love you! Everybody go home safe! We’re out here! Peace!” Flips the bird and gets of the stage.

In conclusion I want to say that this show was incredibly cool. My personal second favorite (after Glasgow, of course). Shows like this undoubtedly are worth the money, the time and effort you spend on them. If you’re still only dreaming of visiting Marshall’s concerts — just do it. You will never regret it.

Sir Elton John will hold what he has described as his “final farewell show” in Sweden this weekend as his tour comes to an end.

Billed as his retirement from touring, the megastar played his last UK date at Glastonbury festival last month and will bring the tour to an end on Saturday at the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm.

The 76-year-old singer-songwriter has been travelling the globe on his marathon Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour since 2018 which has been paused at various points due to the pandemic and his own positive test for Covid-19.

Sir Elton has performed for more than 50 years, which has featured tours with Billy Joel and on-stage collaborations with rapper Eminem , US country veteran Dolly Parton and actor Taron Egerton, who played him in the biopic Rocketman.

His headlining of the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury in June featured a crowd pleasing set full of hits such as Rocketman, Tiny Dancer, Your Song and I’m Still Standing.

The veteran pop star also highlighted up and coming musicians such as Japanese-British singer Rina Sawayama, US singer Stephen Sanchez and Jacob Lusk of Gabriels during his act, as well as paying tribute to his collaborator, the late George Michael.

When he has played throughout the world, Sir Elton has been watched by politicians such as French president Emmanuel Macron and US president Joe Biden, who had him play on the White House lawn in September last year.

Celebrities like Sir Paul McCartney, actress Kirsten Dunst, model Heidi Klum and actress Angela Bassett have also gone to watch the pianist.

Sir Elton played his last ever North American tour show at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles late last year, with the event livestreamed on Disney+ and featured pre-recorded messages from famous fans.

Mr Biden, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Victoria and David Beckham, Katy Perry, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Sting, Parton, Lil Nas X, Bette Midler, Lionel Richie, Billie Eilish, John Legend, The Killers, Ed Sheeran and Joni Mitchell all paid tribute to Sir Elton.

The final show in Los Angeles saw guest appearances from British stars Dua Lipa and Kiki Dee, as well as US country legend Brandi Carlile.

The tour is also one of the highest-grossing concert tours since records began with Billboard reporting that it is the first to do 900 million US dollars (£701,460) worth of ticket sales, with Sir Elton saying more than six million people have come to watch him.

Sir Elton has experienced setbacks along the way, including announcing he had walking pneumonia, a milder form of the illness, in early 2020 in New Zealand and an ear infection in November 2018.

Announcing the end of his touring five years ago, Sir Elton said his “priorities have changed”, adding that his and husband David Furnish’s two sons, Elijah and Zachary, had changed their lives.

He vowed not to do a “Cher”, adding: “This is the end”.

The musician is expected to continue working on making music after releasing his collaborations with Dua Lipa, Stevie Wonder, Britney Spears and Sheeran as part of his The Lockdown Sessions releases in 2022.

Sir Elton, a five-time Grammy winning artist, has also contributed to the music of Billy Elliot the Musical, Gnomeo & Juliet, The Lion King and most recently Rocketman.

Eminem to executive produce “Live From Detroit: The Concert at Michigan Central”

Eminem and Paul Rosenberg are set to executive produce the “Live From Detroit: The Concert at Michigan Central.” It could be one for the ages: A blockbuster, all-star celebration of Detroit music will bring Diana Ross, Jack White, Big Sean and a host of other top names to the restored Michigan Central train station as the historic site launches its grand reopening for a global audience. The concert is spearheaded by Ford Motor Co., which spent nearly $1 billion to renovate the site and unveiled the artist roster Monday morning after weeks of buildup.

Branded as “Live From Detroit: The Concert at Michigan Central,” the event will stream live on Peacock, then air Sunday on NBC as a prime-time special. The 90-minute, genre-spanning concert — whose lineup includes hip-hop duo Slum Village, gospel stars Kierra Sheard and the Clark Sisters, techno-house DJ Theo Parrish and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra — will mark the biggest convergence of hometown star power on one Detroit stage in decades. The show will also feature visiting artists such as Jelly Roll, Fantasia, Common and Melissa Etheridge performing tributes to the city’s rich music heritage. Additional acts are being booked for the event, sources have told the Detroit Free Press. Monday’s official announcement says the concert will include “surprise special guests.” Presenters will include Detroit Lions stars and veterans such as Barry Sanders, Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown, along with comedian Mike Epps and actress Sophia Bush.

The concert can be watched live at 8:30 p.m. Thursday on Peacock, the streaming service operated by NBC Universal, and will be repurposed for a one-hour NBC special airing nationally at 7 p.m. Sunday. Six weeks after the NFL Draft downtown, the Michigan Central concert is poised to give Detroit another high-profile starring role amid the city’s ongoing renewal. Details were revealed Monday by Ford and Michigan Central after weeks of growing buzz and intrigue about the free event, which will accommodate 15,000 people at Corktown’s Roosevelt Park in front of the restored train station. Tickets have already been distributed. The concert is a marquee moment for Ford as it unveils the resurrected Michigan Central following a six-year, $950 million rehabilitation of the 13-story depot and its surrounding 30-acre campus just west of downtown Detroit.

“We wanted to celebrate the reopening of Michigan Central Station in style and make it a night to remember for Detroiters and people watching around the world,” Bill Ford, executive chair of Ford, said in a statement Monday. “I am honored and grateful that so many of Detroit’s musical legends, sports heroes, artists and innovators are joining us to celebrate the city we all love and the bright future we are creating together.” The streaming and TV production is being led by Jesse Collins Entertainment, a Los Angeles company that has overseen Super Bowl halftime shows, Emmy Awards, BET Honors and other events.

Homegrown hit rapper Big Sean, who kicked off April’s NFL Draft with a live set, figured prominently in Ford’s 2018 public festivities when the automaker bought the train station property. Those artists and the others announced Monday make up the most notable concentration of name-brand Detroit talent to share a bill in many years — likely going back to the 1960s and the Motortown Revues that assembled chart-topping Motown acts at venues such as the Fox Theatre. If Eminem were to perform, it would be the rapper’s first hometown show in nearly a decade, not counting his onstage cameos with touring acts such as Ed Sheeran and 50 Cent. COTA Welcomes Eminem and Sting for USGP Headlining Concerts

Circuit of The Americas is thrilled to announce musical icons Sting and Eminem as headliners at the Germania Insurance Super Stage during the Formula One Pirelli United States Grand Prix.

ABBA fans had not necessarily expected to see the group together again after previous statements that they had no further plans to reunite after recording a 2021 comeback album. But the prospect of being knighted brought all four members back together again Friday in their native Sweden, as they showed up at the royal palace in Stockholm to be honored by the king and queen.

At the London Q&A celebrating the two-year anniversary of the so-called ABBA-tar show, with Pete Paphides asking the questions, Andersson and Ulvaeus did not say much about future plans, although they did respond enthusiastically to the idea of their avatars taking a break from their permanent home there to perform at Glastonbury. “Oh yes, I think that’s a brilliant idea,” said Ulvaeus. Andersson added that he might tag along if that ever happened, saying, “If they go to Glastonbury, I think we’d need an extra piano player.”

At this week’s London Q&A, the songwriting team seemed chipper and wistful, in a primarily reminiscing mode.

“It’s very, very hard to grasp emotionally that we wrote these little songs and it gave rise to this, and the millions of people we have touched,” Andersson said, in front of an audience that included celebrities like Rick Astley and Joanna Lumley. “We know it’s true, but it’s very hard to understand. Maybe impossible.”

“I’ve seen the show so many times and I think we look good up there,” added Ulvaeus. “But I have no idea what it really is that makes people have it in them to want to listen to music that was done 50 years ago, 40 years ago, 30 years ago.”

Although it did not arise as a topic of discussion at the London event, there has been talk back in the U.S. of a third “Mamma Mia!” film based on the group’s catalog, although it is not on the fast track. Producer Judy Craymer told Variety in October that it was inevitable. “I’m in the privileged position that I have Universal Studios wanting to do it, who I love working with, and I have a storyline,” she said, as part of talk about a talent competition show inspired by the original theatrical production. “It just always takes a certain amount of time with ‘Mamma Mia.’ Bjorn and Benny always take a certain amount of convincing. I don’t know how much more convincing they’re gonna have because everybody wants another film. But they had ABBA Voyage and then they wanted a rest from ABBA stuff. But it will happen.”
