Kovalam to Kanyakumari

From Kovalam, your tour takes you on to Kanyakumari, famous for the confluence of three oceans-the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean.  The point at which the oceans merge is called the Triveni Sangam and is considered by the Indians to be a sacred place where washing in the waters will cleanse the bathers of sin.  Triveni Sangam is a powerful and significant location and is said to bear witness to the finest sunrises and sunsets in the whole of India.  Bathed in light, the vast Thiruvalluvar statue, a memorial to the famous Tamil philosopher and poet, is a remarkable sight and a ferry service can take you to the rock to view it. 

Kovalam to Trivandrum

Trivandrum is also known by its previous name of Thiruvananthapuram and is the designated capital of Kerala state.  Visit the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, the holiest place in the city but be aware that respect must be shown by wearing either Dhoti for the men or Sarees or Churidar for ladies.  Another popular visitor attraction is the Kuthiramalika Palace Museum which literally means, ‘Palace of Horses’ named after the frieze of 122 wooden horses on the outside of the building.  Veli Tourist Village is a great destination for families with young children with a waterfront park bristling with aqua entertainment for all ages.

• Day 1 - Arrival at Cochin and its City Tour and Set Out for Munnar Journey
• Kerala is a pictorial Indian State with the abundance of greenery, located in the Malabar Coast. It is a tropical state placed along the Arabian Sea shoreline known for its wonderful beaches, backwaters, the canal network, the natural beauty and the famous therapeutic ayurvedic body massage for rejuvenation and relaxation which is the specialty of Kerala; made Kerala a place of excellence. There are several marvelous sightseeing places in Kerala which attract thousands of tourists round the year and also the Honeymoon couples often choose Kerala as their Honeymoon destination. On the arrival at Cochin Railway Station or Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and driven to the city tour of Cochin. Cochin is one of the major port city located in the Ernakulam district of Kerala. You can visit here the Fort Kochi a famous tourist place with few water bodies, but it is not any fort; The ancient Jewish synagogue is there for more than 400 years, a small exhibition held here to show the importance of Jews in Cochin; The Mattancherry Palace made by Portuguese people, also called the Dutch Palace; Jew Town where the Jews used to live; St. Fransis Church which is the first European Church in India made in 1503 and the popular Chinese fishing nets, where the fishing is still done in a traditional Chinese Process using cantilever; around five people pull the Chinese fish net through the pulley system catch the fish on the sea shore. After finishing the Cochin tour, you will be travelled towards Munnar. At Munnar you will check in at the hotel and stay the night in there.
• Day 2 - The Wonderful Munnar City Tour
• On the second day morning after breakfast, go for a city tour of Munnar. Munnar is a township located in the mountain range of Western Ghat in Kerala. Visit the Eravikulam National Park, which is a home to Nilgiri tahr, a kind of mountain goat; Mattupetty Dam made in the mountain where many animals roam in the landscaped view; the shopping place town market; and the Old Munnar Town. After the tour, take rest and relax at hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel or resort at Munnar.
• Day 3 - Destination Thekkady from Munnar
• On the third day morning after breakfast, start for the next destination Thekkady. After reaching the destination, check into the hotel and after refreshment, go for the sightseeing. Visit Ramakkalmedu which is a hilltop with wonderful vista of nature; and the Kailasam which is a place to enjoy the adventure. There is a fantastic driving area through the coffee, cardamom, and pepper plantation, it’s a valley between two hills, a number of trekking options is there and it is also a good place for the bird watchers as variety range of migratory birds come. Stay overnight at the hotel or resort in Thekkary.
• Day 4 - Tour of Thekkady or Periyar
• On the fourth day after having an early breakfast, go for riding the viewing cruise on the Periyar Lake. Thekkady is located in the Idukki district on the Mountains of Western Ghats and Thekkary is the location of Kerala’s most tourist attracted place, the Periyar National Park and The wildlife sanctuary. It is a tiger and elephant reserve forest . Apart from that there are a number of common and rare species of animals such as sambar deer, Indian bison, leopards etc and plenty of rare species birds. In the northern part of this park,there is beautiful Periyar Lake is ideal for boat riding and river rafting. There are also the spice plantations in the further north area of this National Park. There are also a few tribal villages which you can explore. Finishing the tour, come back to the hotel and take rest and relax. Stay overnight at the hotel in Thekkady.
• Day 5 - Destination Alleppey from Thekkady
• On the day fifth, in the morning after having breakfast go for the next destination Alleppey. Alappuzha or Alleppey is located on the Laccadive Sea in Kerala. Alleppey is known for the house boats on Kerala backwaters; and the calm canals and lagoons network. Also visit the Snake Boat, Historical Church and the Paddy Field of Kuttanadan Region, which is the only place where the rice is cultivated below the sea level. Alleppey is also a great place to enjoy the spectacular sunset. Stay overnight night at the hotel or resort of Alleppey.
• Day 6 - Destination Kovalam from Alleppey
• On the day six, in the morning after having breakfast proceed towards the gorgeous Kovalam from Alleppey. Reaching Kovalam, do check in at your hotel. Kovalam is a small breathtakingly pretty coastal city and very famous for its beautiful Kovalam Beach. Kovalam offers sightseeing, delicious Malabari cuisines, swimming and other water sports activities such as wind surfing, parasailing and water diving etc. You can visit beaches and enjoy the water sports activities this day. Spend the night here at Kovlam.
• Day 7 - The Local Sightseeing of Kovalam
• On the seventh day of your journey, after having breakfast go for the Kovlam sightseeing places. Visit the famous beaches here. The largest beach here the Lighthouse Beach, then the second highest is the Hawah Beach and another one is the Samudra Beach and all beaches are extremely gorgeous. You can also spend the day at leisure. Kerala is very famous for the rejuvenating and refreshing Ayurvedic body massage which is helpful in various medicinal cures and this is very famous not only in India but also in outside India. Day 2 - Munnar : Early morning gets up and enjoy your breakfast. Now its the time to start your sightseeing trip to Munnar. Around 8 AM proceed to Eravikulam national park also known as Rajamala. Now, proceed to other sightseeing locations in Munnar, which includes Mattupetty Dam, Tea Museum, The Blossom International Park, Top Station & Photo Point.

Day 3 - Thekkady : Have your breakfast from Munnar hotel and proceed to Thekkady, which is around 91 KM away and approximate travel time is 3 hours. Check in the hotel and enjoy your lunch. Evening go for a plantation visit and elephant ride at Thekkady. You can go for boating at Periyar lake, in the evening or next day morning. Have your dinner and overnight stay at Thekkady hotel.

Day 4 - Houseboat : After your breakfast from Thekkady hotel proceed to Alleppey houseboat. Your 1 night 2 days backwaters tour starts with houseboat trip through narrow canals of Alleppey backwaters. During the visit you can enjoy the science beauty of Kumarakom and Alleppey backwaters. You can enjoy the village life, farming and fishing. Lunch, evening tea & snacks and dinner will be served.

Cochin, the confluence point of the alluring Arabian Sea and the Silent Backwater, will be your host for the day. With your arrival in this pictorial port-city, you will be warmly greeted by our representatives. Hereafter, you will be checked-in to a hotel, where you can unwind, relax and get freshened up. Later visit Folklore Museum, Jew Town, Jewish Synagogue(except Friday & Saturday) , Dutch Palace (except Friday), St. Francis Church(except Sunday), Santa Cruz Basilica, Fort Kochi Beach, Chinese Fishing Nets, Marine Drive, Lulu Mall, Cochin Shopping. Overnight stay at Cochin hotel.

Today morning, following your breakfast And proceed towards the hill station of Munnar. Cosseted by lush greeneries, guarded by captivating hills and mountains, and fringed with never-ending tea plantations, Munnar is also known as the ‘Nature Lover’s Paradise’ and will surely hold you captive throughout your stay. On the way you can visit Cheeyappara Waterfalls and Valara Waterfalls. Arriving in this hilly retreat, you will be checked-in to a hotel or a resort. Overnight stay at Munnar hotel/resort.( 04 Hrs.)

Hereafter, you will be driven towards the gorgeous Thekkady, located near to Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. Following your arrival in the town, settle down in a hotel/resort and relax for a while. Post this, embark on a rustic tour to the Periyar National Park, a protected reserve forest, which is home to a stunning variety of flora and fauna. It is bound to wake up and give pleasure to the nature lover in you. The sanctuary is famous for its dense evergreen, semi-evergreen, moist deciduous forests and savanna grass lands. It is home to herds of elephants, sambar, tigers, gaur, lion-tailed macaques and Nilgiri langurs. Close to Periyar National Park is the Periyar Lake, one of the largest artificial lakes in India. Check out from the Hotel and proceed to the next destination. On arrival in Alleppey, check in to Hotel. With the Arabian Sea in the west and a vast network of lakes, lagoons and fresh water rivers crisscrossing  it, Alappuzha is a district immense natural beauty. Referred to as the Venice of East by travellers from across the World, this backwater country is home to diverse animal and birdlife. Today, Alappuzha is an important backwater destination attracting several thousand foreign tourists every year. Alappuzha is also famous for its boat races, beaches, marine products and coir industry. A singularity of this land is the region called KUTTANAD, a land of lush paddy fields referred to as the rice bowl of Kerala and one of the few places in the World where farming is done below sea level. Later we proceed for some local sightseeing in Alleppey : Vembanad Lake, Mannarasala Sree Nagaraja temple, Coir Weaving Industry( Boat Charges own cost) and Alleppey Beach. Evening you can opt for Ayurvedic massage and Spa (at own cost). Overnight stay at the Alleppey hotel.(5 Hrs.)

Check out from the Hotel and proceed to the next destination Kovalam. On the way to Kovalam, we will do sightseeing of Trivandrum : Padmanabha Swami Temple, Kuthira Maligai Palace, Zoo, Napier Museum , Sree Chithra Art Gallery and Zoological Gardens (All places close on Monday except Padmanabha Swami Temple). Evening reach Kovalam. Overnight stay at Kovalam hotel.(4 Hrs.)

After breakfast, proceed for a day tour of Kovalam. Kovalam means a grove of coconut trees and true to its name the village offers an endless sight of coconut trees. Kovalam has three beaches separated by rocky outcroppings in its 17 km coastline, the three together form the famous crescent of the Kovalam beach. A massive rocky promontory on the beach has created a beautiful bay of calm waters ideal for sea bathing. You will visit Thiruvallam Parasuraman Temple, Lighthouse Beach, Kovalam Beach, Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium, Hawah Beach, Vellayani Lake, Velli Tourist Village and Samudra Beach.

Day 1 - Cochin : Arrive Cochin international airport / railway station and proceed to Ernakulam hotel, which is around 28 KM away and approximate travel time is 40 minutes. Enjoy your lunch and after noon go for half day sightseeing tour in cochin. The cochin sightseeing itinerary includes Fort Kochi, Cherai Beach, Mattancherry Palace, Church of Saint Francis, Kochi, Hill Palace Museum, Paradesi Synagogue etc.

Day 2 - Munnar : Enjoy your breakfast from Ernakulam hotel and proceed to Munnar, which is around 120 KM away and approximate travel time is 3 hours and 30 minutes. On the way you can enjoy the beauty of Neriamangalam bridge which is built in 1935. The other sightseeing on the way to Munnar from cochin are Cheeyappara & Valara waterfalls, Karadipara view point etc. Check in the hotel and relax for the day.

Day 3 - Munnar : After breakfast, proceed for Munnar full day sightseeing. You can visit Eravikulam National Park, Mattupetty Dam, Anamudi, Pothamedu View Point, The Blossom International Park, Tea Museum, Attukad Waterfalls, Top Station, Kolukkumalai Tea Estate, Photo point, Lockhart Gap View, Chokramudi Peak, Munnar View Point etc. Evening back to resort and enjoy campfire and delicious dinner.

Day 4 - Thekkady : Enjoy your breakfast from Munnar resort and proceed to Thekkady, which is 85 KM away and approximate travel time is 3 hours. On arrival at Thekkady, check in the hotel, enjoy your lunch and relax. Afternoon proceed for Periyar lake boating. Periyar lake boating online booking is possible through KTDC website. If time permits, go for Thekkady plantation tour and back to resort late evening.

Day 5 - Alleppey Houseboat : Enjoy your delicious breakfast from Thekkady resort checkout and for short plantation visit. Around 9 AM proceed to Alleppey houseboat which is 140 KM away and approximate travel time is 4 hours. Check in the houseboat around 12 noon. Now its the time for relaxation and enjoyment. Around 1.30 PM, delicious lunch will be served in the Alleppey houseboat.

Day 6 - Varkala / Kovalam / Poovar Beach : One hour house boat cruise in the morning, have your breakfast and proceed to Varkala / Kovalam / Poovar Beach as per your preference. Check in the hotel around 2 PM and enjoy your lunch. Alleppey houseboat to Varkala beach distance is 107 KM and travel time is 3 hours. Kovalam is 162 KM away and travel time is 4 hours. Poovar beach is 176 KM away and travel time is 4.20 hours.

Day 7 - Varkala / Kovalam / Poovar Beach : Get up early in the morning and enjoy the beauty of the sunrise on the beach and back to the hotel for your breakfast. Here's a Feedback on our Experience with Veena World: We went for an 8 days trip to wonders of Kerala(*****) with a group of 28 and 2 tour managers Mr.Rahul Patil and Sanchit Ghare. The entire trip was pleasent & delightful. Hotel stay, food, snacks, tea and coffee - everything was very nice. Our tour Managers - Rahul and Sanchit were always smiling and caring. , they personally take care of each person, they tackled every situation wisely,we r saying that ,because when an unexpected demonstration in that local area,called for "Band for one day,"both of them showed us tourist places that remained on that day ,the next day by adjusting time .In the tour both of them took many pictures of every one on their demand. Transport arrangment was very good, comfortable.The whole group enjoyed the tour. Thiruvananthapuram (2 nights).

Tour guests will arrive at Thiruvananthapuram Airport as per their scheduled flight. Upon arrival they will meet Veena World tour manager at the airport and proceed to hotel. Joining and Leaving (J&L) tour guests will join the group on their own. The transfer charges to reach the designated place or hotel will be borne by the (J&L) guests.

Thiruvananthapuram – Kanyakumari – Thiruvananthapuram

Today we proceed to Kanyakumari- a coastal town on India's southern tip. Upon arrival we enjoy a ferry ride to Swami Vivekananda Rock Memorial - built in 1970 in honour of Swami Vivekananda, followed by a visit to the meditation hall and the smarak, Kanyakumari Mandir - is one of the 52 Shakti Peethams, Tri Samudra Milan (Triveni Sangam), Gandhi Mandapam - a memorial building with sea views on site where Gandhi's ashes were held after his death. Further we proceed back to Thiruvananthapuram At the Kanyakumari Mandir we arrange VIP Darshan for you. It might not be possible during government movements, special delegate visits, or religious ceremonies. Still, in such situations too, we will try our best to make it available to you. Important: VIP Darshan does not mean direct Darshan and you will still have to wait in the queue, which however may be comparatively shorter than the general queue.

Thiruvananthapuram – Jatayu Earth Centre – Alleppey (1 Night)

Today we visit Padmanabh Swami Temple - dedicated to Lord Vishnu and the Richest Place of Worship in the World. We then visit Jatayu Earth Centre – which stands at an altitude of 350m (1200ft) above the sea level. Jatayu Nature Park holds the distinction of having the world’s largest bird sculpture, which is of Jatayu. Here we take a cable car ride to reach at the main attraction, upon arrival we visit Jatayu Sculpture, Audio -Visual museum, Rama Temple & Mini Theatre. Further we proceed to Alleppey – known as ‘the Venice of the East’. Please Note: For you visit to the Padmanabh Swami Temple, it is compulsory for all Women to wear a Saree, men to wear a plain lungi without the Angavastra and the girls below 12 years of age may wear a gown. (Salwar suits, black colour saree, sleeveless blouses & all other forms of modern dressing is not allowed.) At the Padmanabh Swami Temple we arrange VIP Darshan for you. Alleppey – Periyar (1 Night)

Today we enjoy the famous Kerala Backwaters ride and admire the scenic sites of lush paddy fields and coconut trees as we sail. We then proceed to Periyar. Upon arrival we have free time for shopping at Kumily Spice Village. In the evening we enjoy Kathakali show.

Periyar – Munnar (2 Nights)

Today we visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary - one of the popular national parks in India and famous as an elephant and tiger reserve. It is home to around 35 species of mammals like tiger, Indian elephant, gaur, sambar, wild pig, Indian giant squirrel, jungle cat, etc. We explore this wildlife sanctuary by sailing in the Periyar Lake. Later we proceed to Munnar – Munnar is well known for its lush green hills and tea plantations. Please Note: Periyar Boat Ride is subject to Availability. In case of non-availability, alternative sightseeing will be provided.

Today we enjoy speed boat ride at Mattupetty Dam near Sun moon Valley, followed by a visit to Echo Point and Eravikulam (Rajamalai) National Park (subject to security permission).

Munnar – Cochin (1 Night)

Today we proceed to Cochin – Popularly known as the Queen of Arabian Sea. Upon arrival we visit Chinese Fishing Nets and St. Francis Church at Fort Kochi - one of the oldest European churches in India which has great historical significance. Later we proceed to Muttancherry, here we visit the Jewish Synagogue - oldest active synagogue in the Commonwealth of Nations, Dutch Palace - one of the finest examples of the Kerala style of architecture.

Cochin – Departure

It’s time now to say goodbye, Phir Milenge! Let’s stay in touch with each other through email, phone, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, etc. and meet again on yet another memorable Veena World tour. See you all! Tour guests will proceed to the airport as per their scheduled group flight departure time and start their journey back home. Joining and Leaving (J&L) tour guests will leave the group after the scheduled program. Please note: Airline: On group tours, we generally fly with the airlines that are group-friendly. Group tours are based on economy class, if you wish to travel by Premium Economy / Business Class / First Class, we can arrange the same at an additional cost subject to availability. During your air travel, refreshments and meals are provided as per the airline policy. However, we recommend you to carry dry snacks of your choice for the flight journey. Transport: For transfers and sightseeing we use small cars / Tempo Travellers / Mini or big coaches depending on the respective tour group size. The seating arrangement in the coach is based on booking priority. Seat numbers 1 & 2 are reserved for Tour Managers and Tour Guides. Seat numbers 3 & 4 are reserved as Prime Seats which can be availed by paying an additional cost. One of the special things at there was Boathouse. An Ayurveda Treatment Center, where we both went for the massage. It really relaxed our bodies. After a lot of the local sightseeing, we finally reached in the hotel in late evening. My husband still says, that he is very thankful to me for selecting a lovely place. At the last I want to say to all of you, that Kerala is a superb destination for the Honeymooners.

They know when you have to visit, which places also. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner all the things were arranged very well. We never feel hunger within the tour. If I talked about the accommodation, then I bought a seven days package. Every day they take us to a new place and all the listed places were very nice. We had never felt bored during the Tour. The food was also delicious. After watching the Kerala beauty, I want to go there again. Thanks for all the travels staff to give me such a nice journey.
