The system allows you to manage services like hotels, meals, room types, board, activities and transfers. Organisers and travellers can accept or reject quote with a single click of a button, select package and other options and make payment.
A group travel itinerary is a collection of various travel services grouped together to form a multi-day tour package. These services can be sourced from multiple suppliers or multiple services can be sourced from a single supplier e.g. when services are sourced through a DMC.
A typical Group travel itinerary consists of travel services that can be categorised in following three types:
- Core Services – Travel services which collectively form a group travel package, these services are assigned to all passengers within a group travel. Cost and selling price of a group travel package is calculated based on these core services. E.g. of Core service could be Accommodation service, which is typically assigned to all passengers within a group travel.
- Optional Services – These are optional services within a group travel package, these services are only assigned to passengers who have specifically opted for these services. E.g. Optional service could be Travel Insurance, Special requests, or an activity which is less than a day.
- Tours Extension – As name suggests, such tours are actually an extension to the main group travel package. Tour extensions are optional, and passengers can opt to take tour extensions either before the start of the main group tour, known as “Pre Tour Extensions” or after the completion of the main group tour, known as “Post-Tour Extensions”. Tours extension can be either a single or multi day tours
A group travel is arranged when 10 or more individuals are travelling together on the same itinerary. In travel, Group travel is identified by different titles like – Group trips, Group holidays, Group packages or Group tours.

- Itinerary – Plan & create group itinerary, define pre or post tour extensions and optional elements of itinerary.

Available on iOS and Android Prava is an itinerary manager that offers in-app messaging, a to do list and notepad, perfect for planning group trips. Additional features make this app a great travel companion as well. From the app, you can share your location with other group members, perfect if you’re arriving in a destination from many different locations. You can also share trip photos and calculate expenses through the app.
At the conclusion of your vacation, your group can choose to share part or all of your itinerary with other Prava users, inspiring other groups to follow in your footsteps.
Available on iOS only; Android coming soon No matter where you are, what currency you paid in or who paid, figure out who owes what with group travel app Splittr. Divide hotel, grocery, attraction and transportation costs between friends or family. The app converts any expense to your preferred currency and allows you to split bills unevenly between group members. After your vacation, export PDF or CSV reports to let everyone know how much they owe other travelers. You unfortunately aren’t able to pay your balance using the app.

- Splitwise integrates with Venmo, making it ideal for groups who already share money via the app.

Available on iOS and Android Whether you’re planning a spring break trip, bachelorette party or family reunion, keep all the details in a single place with Travefy. Use the chat and polling function to discuss details, collect money (there is a fee to use a credit card) and start building your sharable itinerary. Forward confirmation emails to the app and your flight, rental car, accommodation, activities and restaurant reservations will appear in one place.

Your group members can upload photos and add text for any location on your Tripline map. The app takes these photos and creates a simple animation outlining your trip, which is available for other Tripline users and can be shared on social media.

Sabre and Serko Announce Partnership to Foster Innovation in Corporate Travel
Ongoing collaboration will support joint strategic development, investment and commercial plans
Upon closing, Serko will acquire GetThere, Sabre’s corporate online booking tool
SOUTHLAKE, Texas AND AUCKLAND, New Zealand, Oct. 28, 2024 – Sabre Corporation (NASDAQ: SABR) (“Sabre”), a leading software and technology company powering the travel industry, and Serko Limited (NZX & ASX: SKO) (“Serko”), a leading online travel technology company, announced today that they have entered into a definitive agreement, pursuant to which Serko will acquire GetThere L.P. (“GetThere”), Sabre’s powerful business travel management solution.
Under the new partnership, Serko will acquire the GetThere business and work with Sabre to collaborate on the development of new product capabilities for corporate customers, as well as the growth and expansion of the companies’ relevant customer base – all with the goal of empowering and delivering greater value to travel management companies (TMCs), corporate travel buyers, and, ultimately, business travelers. The partnership also defines a joint approach to commercial, sales and marketing initiatives to seek to facilitate growth in North America and beyond.
Upon closing of the deal, which is subject to customary conditions, ownership of the GetThere business will be transferred to Serko, including the GetThere solution and certain intellectual property used by GetThere in the operation of its business; the substantial expertise and deep domain knowledge of the GetThere team members; as well as a strong global customer base that includes many blue-chip companies in North America. Serko will continue to operate and sell under the GetThere brand and the parties will work together on transitional arrangements to ensure customers experience continuity of product, service and management. Sabre does not expect the sale of the GetThere business to have a significant impact on its revenue, Adjusted EBITDA or free cash flow in 2024 and thereafter.
“Our partnership with Sabre marks a significant step in Serko’s evolution, solidifying our commitment to delivering a comprehensive and seamless end-to-end solution for the global managed travel segment,” said Darrin Grafton, Chief Executive and Co-Founder of Serko. “The acquisition of GetThere is highly complementary to our existing North America operations. Additional investments in our products and technology will support our momentum in North America and globally, benefitting partners and customers.”
Serko and Sabre will focus on strategic co-development and co-investment plans to develop new capabilities for the industry by:
- Prioritizing initiatives that will help minimize friction for travelers and increase efficiency for TMCs and corporations
- Streamlining processes beyond shop, book and manage to reduce friction in disruptions, payments and expense reconciliations
- Utilizing each company’s technology, product and platform expertise to deliver new products and features.
Additionally, through its partnership with Sabre, Serko will utilize the Sabre and Google co-innovation framework to further explore and develop new advancements and solutions for the corporate travel space.
