Hip hop royalty returns with a Wu-Tang and Nas tour set to kick off across North America this year. The legendary acts are set to hit the road for their first co-headlining tour—and fans of the New York juggernauts will be able to land discounted tickets for Wu-Tang Clan & Nas ‘ 2022 tour with our tips below.

Wu-Tang Clan & Nas Tour Tickets

Wu-Tang Clan and Nas announced their NY State of Mind Tour—named for the Queens rapper’s classic Illmatic track of the same name—on April 19, 2022. Wu-Tang Clan & Nas’ 2022 tour will span 25 cities across the United States, beginning on August 30 in St. Louis along with stops in Atlanta, Camden and Houston before closing out on October 4 at Los Angeles’ celebrated Hollywood Bowl venue.

Nas and Wu-Tang’s 2022 NY State of Mind Tour announcement comes after a series of recent accolades for both headliners. In 2021, Nas released two albums: Disease II and  Magic,  both of which were produced by Hit-Boy and garnered widespread acclaim from critics and fans alike. Disease II  was nominated in the Best Rap Album category at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards, where Nas performed a medley of career-spanning hits in honor of the 20th anniversary of his 2002 album,  God’s Son.

Meanwhile, Wu-Tang Clan—whose members still include founder and de facto leader, RZA, along with GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Masta Killa, Inspectah Deck, Ghostface Killah and U-God—recently received an honor by the Library of Congress when their pioneering debut record, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers),  was chosen to be added to the National Recording Registry.

Rap Icons Wu-Tang Clan and Nas Will Team Up for NY State of Mind Late Summer Tour

The North American run launches Aug. 30 in St. Louis, Missouri before heading to cities including Toronto, Atlanta, and Houston and wrapping October 4 in Los Angeles, California

Get ready to "Bring da Ruckus" — Wu-Tang Clan is heading out on tour with Nas .

On Tuesday, the legendary New York hip-hop group made up of RZA , GZA, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Ghostface Killah , Method Man , Raekwon, Masta Killa, and Cappadonna revealed they'll be hitting the road with the 48-year-old fellow NY-based Illmatic rapper in late summer 2022 for a string of North American tour dates, aptly titled the NY State of Mind Tour.

Announced alongside a poster featuring photos of New York City staples including the Manhattan skyline, a pigeon, and Frank Sinatra , Wu-Tang Clan and Nas' tour launches the first of its 25 dates on Aug. 30 in St. Louis, Missouri before heading to cities including Toronto, Atlanta, and Houston and wrapping Oct. 4 in Los Angeles, California. Notably, the tour doesn't feature a show anywhere in the city or state of New York.

Last week, Wu-Tang Clan's debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) was announced as one of 25 titles inducted into the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress this year to be preserved for its significant cultural contributions.

In March 2021, Nas earned his first-ever Grammy Award for best rap album for his twelfth solo studio album, King's Disease . Five months later, the "Street Dreams" performer released its follow-up, King's Disease II , his thirteenth studio album.

Despite never formally touring together previously, the iconic rappers have history. Nas has appeared as a featured artist on several tracks by members of Wu-Tang as well as the whole group, including 1995's "Verbal Intercourse" with members Raekwon, 52, and Ghostface Killah, 51, a song titled "Let My N—- Live" off Wu-Tang Clan's 2000 album The W , and another Raekwon collaboration called "Rich & Black" from his 2011 album Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang .

Most recently, Nas appeared as himself in the 2019 Showtime documentary series Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men to speak about his time working with the group.

General on-sale tickets for the NY State of Mind tour go on sale starting Tuesday, April 26 at 10am local time here .

Ghostface Killah and Wu-Tang Clan are embarking on their N.Y. State of Mind Tour later this year with Nas. Alexandra Salmieri

  • Matt Levy | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com

The “NY State of Mind Tour” is heading to New Jersey.

Staten Island legends Wu-Tang Clan are teaming up with Queens hip-hop hero Nas for a 25-city tour in 2022.

The co-headliners will drop into the Garden State for two concerts. The first will be at Camden’s Waterfront Music Pavilion on Sept. 8 , followed by a show at Newark’s Prudential Center on Sept. 13 .

Tickets go on sale to the public on Tuesday, April 26 at 10 a.m. local time.

If you don’t want to wait until the tickets go on sale to the general public, you can find seats right now on Vivid Seats for both the Sept. 8 Waterfront Music Pavilion performance and Sept. 13 Prudential Center stop .

NJ.com readers using Vivid Seats for the first time can get $20 off ticket orders over $200 with promo code NJ20 at checkout.

It’s common for speculative tickets to show up on the secondary market first, but be aware that prices may be more expensive than when they go on sale to the general public.

A complete calendar with all New York State of Mind tour dates, show times, venues and links to buy tickets can be found here .

In an Instagram post , Wu-Tang shouted out the summer of 1973 as inspiration for the tour citing that as the year “DJ Kool Herc started throwing block parties in the Bronx.”

These shows will be Wu-Tang and Nas’s first in New Jersey since 2019.

About Wu-Tang Clan

Founded in New York City’s Staten Island in the early 1990s, the Wu-Tang Clan is comprised of members RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, U-God, Masta Killa, Inspectah Deck, Cappadonna, and the deceased Ol’ Dirty Bastard (ODB). Their name is a reference to a 1983 martial arts film.

Led by the production of RZA, samples from martial arts films have thematically appeared throughout the group’s music, as have samples of classic funk and soul tracks from artists like Rick James, James Brown, and Syl Johnson. As a group, Wu-Tang Clan have three platinum albums among their eight LPs, and the group’s complete anthology (including solo albums) has more than 85 full-length releases. More than just rappers, Wu-Tang Clan are entrepreneurs and successful cultural influencers, with an empire that features everything from clothing lines and video games to books and acting credits.

Wu-Tang Clan on Tour Considered by many to be the greatest hip-hop group of all time, Wu-Tang Clan have been touring as a unit since their debut record — Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) — came out in 1993. The now triple-platinum release vaulted the New York City group with songs like “C.R.E.A.M.” (Cash Rules Everything Around Me) and “Protect Ya Neck” that are about as recognizable as anything in the rap canon.

Their live sets are a family affair, with every member of the crew representing their lyrical contributions to the Wu’s eight studio albums, as well as notable cuts from the Wu-Tang solo discography. With the omnipresent Wu-Tang “W” flanking all angles of the stage, there’s a familiarity to Wu-Tang Clan’s music that gives their shows unique mass appeal.

Whether they’re delivering the 36 Chambers record front to back on the album’s 25th Anniversary Tour, or tracks from GZA’s seminal Liquid Swords and Raekwon’s mafioso-minded Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…, or honoring the legacy of their departed brother, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, every Wu-Tang Clan show is a celebration of prolific careers as individuals and especially as the most storied group in hip-hop history.

About Nas Nas (Nasir Jones) first reached an international audience when his track “Halftime” was tapped by producer MC Serch as the opening cut on 1992’s  Zebrahead  movie soundtrack.  Signed to Columbia Records, the first full-length album by poet and rhyme-master Nas arrived in 1994,  Illmatic .  The RIAA platinum hip-hop landmark featured “It Ain’t Hard To Tell,” “The World Is Yours,” and “One.”  1996 brought the breakthrough double-platinum  It Was Written  (#1 R&B for 7 weeks, #1 pop for 4 weeks), with his first major crossover singles “Street Dreams” and “If I Ruled the World (Imagine That).” Success continued with the double-platinum  I Am  in 1999 (again #1 pop and #1 R&B), with the chart singles “Nas Is Like,” “Hate Me Now” (featuring Puff Daddy), and “You Won’t See Me Tonight” (featuring Aaliyah).

Subsequent albums by Nas included: the RIAA platinum  Nastradamus  (1999, #2 R&B, #7 pop, with “Nastradamus” and “You Owe Me,” featuring Ginuwine); the platinum  Stillmatic  (2001, #1 R&B, #5 pop, with “Got Ur Self A…,” “ “One Mic,” and “Rule”); the platinum  God’s Son  (2002, #1 R&B, with huge R&B/pop crossover hits “Made You Look” and “I Can”); and the platinum double-CD  Street’s Disciple  (2004, #2 R&B, #5 pop, with “Bridging the Gap” and “Just a Moment”). And his 2012 album,  Life Is Good  earned him 4 Grammy nominations including Rap Album of the Year and is certified RIAA gold.

Over the years, Nas has also been the featured guest on a number of crossover hits by other artists, among them: Allure (“Head Over Heels,” 1997); Missy Elliott (the #1 “Hot Boyz,” 1999); fellow Queensbridge rapper Mobb Deep (“It’s Mine,” 1999); Jagged Edge (“I Got It 2,” 2002); J-Lo (“I’m Gonna Be Alright,” 2002); Kanye West (“Classic (Better Than I’ve Ever Been),” 2006); DJ Khaled (“Nas Album Done,” 2016); Swizz Beats (“Echo,” 2018); Jhene Aiko (“10K Hours,” 2020) and others.

In August 2020, Nas released  King’s Disease .  King’s Disease  marked Nas’ first new album in 2 years. The album was entirely produced by Hit-Boy, and Gabriel “G Code” Zardes serves as the albums co-executive producer. The album won “Best Rap Album” at the 2021 GRAMMYs, marking Nas’ first ever GRAMMY win.

In August of 2021, Nas released  King’s Disease II , a sequel to the GRAMMY Award winning album.  King’s Disease II  was executive produced by Nas and Hit-Boy and features collaborations with Eminem, EPMD, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, YG, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Hit-Boy & more. The album earned a nomination for “Best Rap Album” at the upcoming 64th GRAMMY Awards. Most recently, Nas released a surprise album titled Magic featuring A$AP Rocky and DJ Premier.

In addition to his successful career in music, Nas has pursued a career in motion pictures that began with his co-starring role (alongside DMX) in 1998’s cult classic crime drama  Belly , a film by director Hype Williams (with whom Nas has done several music videos). Most recently, he was the executive producer of the 2016 Netflix series  The Get Down .

Nas is also the co-founder of Mass Appeal Records.

Photos: Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, and Busta Rhymes launch their "N.Y. State of Mind" tour at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre

About 8,000 fans descended on Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre to be the first to experience the artists' 2022 tour, which will hit another 24 cities this fall.

About 8,000 hip-hop fans of all ages descended on Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Maryland Heights on August 30 for nearly three hours of old-school rap, rhymes, and rhythms that only legends like Wu-Tang Clan , Nas , and Busta Rhymes can bring. The gathered fans were the first to experience the artists'  N.Y. State of Mind tour, which will hit another 24 cities this fall.

The cool Tuesday night kicked off at 8:15 p.m. with DJ Scratch priming the growing crowd with everything from Run-D.M.C. to Beastie Boys, with a little James Brown sample tossed in for good measure. He ended his 40-minute set by saying what an honor it is for him to be on tour and that he's “seen [the artists] blossom to become icons and been blessed to produce for them as well” while touching on a  new collaboration  with Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA.

Then, the members of the Grammy-nominated Wu-Tang Clan sauntered on stage separately, each taking their own time in the spotlight over the course of a few songs, to the apparent delight of those in attendance. The crew, who all sounded strong, took time between songs to acknowledge St. Louis and the "beautiful people" in the crowd.

After just a few songs—including “Duel of the Iron Mic,” “Da Mystery of Chessboxin,” and “Wu-Tang Clan Ain’t Nuthing”—multi-platinum rapper  Nas  emerged on stage full of smiles. He performed several hits, including “It’s Mine,” “Loco-Motive,” and, of course, “N.Y. State of Mind.”

“Last time I was here was before the pandemic,” Nas said, as fans shouted out, “2019!” “I want to come back here every year.”

Wu-Tang Clan then reemerged for part two of their own set, getting fans on their feet grooving to “Ice Cream” and “Glaciers.” They kept the crowd pumped with shouts of “How many people love real f*ckin’ hip hop?” and “If you love rap and it meant so much to your life make some noise!”

Nas returned to the stage after an all-white costume change to urge the crowd to “Light ’em up,” and they eagerly delivered, lighting up the amphitheater with thousands of phones. Nas then went into “Hate Me Now.” He closed his second set sampling Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” while sliding into “If I Ruled the World (Imagine That).”

Then the most recent addition to the bill, Grammy-nominated artist  Busta Rhymes , came out looking sharp in yellow along with rapper Spliff Star, who complimented not only the look but the upbeat, easygoing energy emanating off Busta. With wide smiles and a twinkle in his eye, Busta worked the crowd during his eight-song set, which included hits “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See,” “I Know What You Want,” and “Break Ya Neck.”

With the night creeping up on 11 p.m., Wu-Tang came out for the third and final act of the night with “4th Chamber,” “Reunited,” and “Triumph.” They ended the evening (sans encore, due to the time crunch) by asking the crowd to “put up your peace sign” and wishing everyone peace to enthusiastic chants of “Wu-Tang, Wu-Tang!”
