We’re kick-ball-changing it up on the high seas, casting for shows and experiences currently playing on our ladyships created by The 7 Fingers, Sam Pinkleton & Ani Taj, No Ceilings, Remarkable Entertainment, Kaleidoscope Entertainment, and more!

Our casts are made up of unique and explosive dancer-performers who are equally comfortable dancing solo, in groups, lifting and being lifted, and on the dance floor. Our shows embrace a vast spectrum of identities, genders, body types, and dance styles and no two dancers should look or dance the same.

Production Info

Six-month contracts throughout 2024/2025 on our fleet of ships across the Caribbean and Mediterranean: The Scarlet Lady, The Valiant Lady, and The Resilient Lady.

Compensation/Fee

Varies per role; $1000/wk with a private cabin (shared bathroom) Housing, transportation, and all meals provided.

Requirements

You must be over 21 years of age by the start of the contract.

We welcome and encourage performers from a broad range of dance/movement worlds including contemporary, commercial, hip hop, heels, and breaking/b-boy to attend. All performers should have a strong sense of humor, as well as be comfortable performing among audience members and welcoming them into a high-energy experience. Tumbling, Acro, Parkour, pole dance, and the ability to improvise and think on the spot are a plus.

This invite-only tour is reserved only for Virgin Voyages VIP guests. We can’t reveal all the secrets here but it's not one to miss if you get a special invite!

VHS Workout (Videos/Headbands/Simmons)

The VHS Workout is a free, 45-minute 80s-themed aerobics class in The Manor. Dress up in retro gear and enjoy a low-impact exercise session.​

We are looking for powerhouse vocalists and singers who have experience in drag performance with unmatched stage presence and explosive star quality. Our vocalists are given the space to sculpt and adapt to their individual styles and our shows embrace a vast spectrum of identities, genders, body types, and musical styles. Our shows include captivating and dynamic performers with a strong sense of style, humour, and self. We are looking for unique vocalists with wildly diverse backgrounds and individual styles. All singers must be comfortable learning basic movement, improvising, and performing in close proximity to and among audience members.

CONTRACT INFORMATION

Six-month contracts throughout 2024/2025 on our fleet of ships across the Caribbean and Mediterranean: The Scarlet Lady, The Valiant Lady, and The Resilient Lady. 

Salary: $1,100/wk to $1500/wk depending on role.  Private cabin and bath room .

Housing,  transportatio n, and all meals provided.

THE HOSTESS - Female presenting - A glamorous versatile songstress and engaging storyteller, with some wicked hosting skills, she has the ability to make anyone feel special and at home. Will host several events, serenade sailors in their own one person cabaret, and star in Scarlet Night. Must be able to comfortably sing in different styles including pop/rock, musical theatre, jazz and rap with a vocal range between E3-F5 (belt/mix) and extension up to B5 (head voice).

THE DIVA - The resident Drag Queen onboard who stars in her own cabaret show, hosts bingo, and is the life of every party. She is a fierce vocalist, has dance moves that dazzle, and a wit to marvel at. Must be able to comfortably sing between B2-A4 in a chest/mix-belt register with ability to falsetto up to C5. Seeking professional and polished drag queens who have loads of experience in comedic hosting with live audiences.

THE UNICORN - Female presenting - An utterly singular vocal force with stratospheric pipes and a strong sense of humor about herself/themself and the show. Performs an unexpected set of 90s hits with total self-seriousness in UNTITLED DANCESHOWPARTYTHING (Created by Sam Pinkleton & Ani Taj), a hype music-video-meets-club-scene is an absurdist dance party... with a dash of old-fashioned showbiz flair. Must be able to comfortably sing between G3 to E5 (belt/mix).  

THE MC - Male identifying or non-binary presenting - A glam rock singer in the style of David Bowie, Rufus Wainright, Lenny Kravtiz and Justin Vivian Bond. A strong actor, able to play any and all ranges of gender in surprising ways. Must be able to comfortably sing between A3 to E flat 6 and falsetto. Performs in SHIPS IN THE NIGHT (Created by Gypsy Snider/The 7 Fingers), an edgy and beautiful production featuring ethereal technology and electrifying choreography. Must be comfortable performing at heights as high as 30 feet. British dialect required.

DEMETER - Female presenting - Rock and soul singer with a queenly demeanor and commanding presence. Must be able to comfortably sing between G3 to G5 (belt/mix). This performer will also perform the role of Mary in LOLA’S LIBRARY. Must have great comedic timing and improvisation skills. Ability to do a strong accent is necessary. Performs in PERSEPHONE created by Kaleidoscope Entertainment and LOLA’s LIBRARY created by No Ceilings Entertainment).

LOLA - Female presenting - A thrilling, powerhouse vocalist with a contemporary high-belt. Must be a compelling storyteller with a hostess and charismatic presence. LOLA must be a mover who will captivate the audience from the moment you step into her library. Must be able to sing between F3 to E flat 5 (belt/mix). Performs LOLA’S LIBRARY (Created by No Ceilings Entertainment).  

CHANTEUSE - Female presenting- Mezzo-soprano/soprano vocal range G3 to a belt to D5. Our hostess and narrator for the evening. A captivating and magnetic presence, the Chanteuse should be comfortable with immersive performance. Performs ANOTHER ROSE (Created by Weiner Entertainment Group).

SYDRA - Female presenting, should read 30-50 - Alto. The overly protective queen - physically striking and startling, traditional and fiercely protective of her way of life. Must be a multi-genre singer with strong pop and stylistic leanings that include rock, soul, RnB, pop, classical, acoustic soul, and punk.   Must comfortably sing between F3 and C#5 (mix/belt) Performs ANOTHER ROSE (Created by Weiner Entertainment Group).

TOMAS - Male identifying or non-binary presenting - Rock/Soul tenor with wild energy and a quirky personality. Must be able to comfortably sing between A3 to E flat 6 and the ability to learn/sing tight harmonies. Performs ANOTHER ROSE (Created by Weiner Entertainment Group).

JEANNA - Female identifying or non-binary presenting - Mezzo-soprano /pop soprano with an engaging, spunky and fun personality. Must be able to sing between F3 to E flat 5 (belt/mix), comfortable performing a variety of roles and learning/singing tight harmonies. Performs ANOTHER ROSE (Created by Weiner Entertainment Group).

We’re throwing out the rule book and reinventing the Cruise Director and Cruise Staff. Introducing Happenings. Composed of 12 fabulous and exceptional humans, our Happenings cast is on the frontline of Sailor satisfaction on a Virgin Voyages sailing.

Each member of the cast focuses on a specific topic or theme they are experts in and pass that passion and knowledge on to our Sailors all voyage long. From art class to bar crawl, Happenings make it all happen.

We’re looking for personable, outgoing, confident, and unique humans who are ready to jump on board and rock the boat.

THE WHO'S WHO:

She’s the walking, talking, head-turning goddess of glitter .

Our resident Drag Queen, stars in her own cabaret show, hosts bingo, and is the life of every party.  She's a fierce vocalist with dance moves that razzle *and* dazzle (even outside the restaurant).

The Hostess

Our glamorous hostess-with-the-mostes.

A songstress and a storyteller, The Hostess lights up every venue on board. Join this butterfly at all the social gatherings — whether big or small — and enjoy her cheeky-comedic flair.

The Charmer

It's not all smoke and mirrors, but plenty of mystery & illusion.

The Charmer is a close-up conjurer and cocktail enthusiast who mixes magic and mischief into every encounter. Their lemon twists and plot turns will leave you thinking, “...how did they do that?”

Our resident crafty curator of the creative.

The Artist is knowledgeable in many mediums and encourages Sailors to color outside of the lines. Live Life Colorfully or paint with boozy bevvies — to get creative and express yourself. Supplies are included, but talent certainly isn’t necessary.

The expert of eateries, and connoisseur of cocktails.

They may not be making the meals, but they sure do know where to find 'em. The Foodie takes you on Grog Walks, cooks up classes, and shakes up mixology. And they’re not just about the  food,  they also have a heavy  knowledge of health and  well-being.

Virgin Voyages Redefines Cruise Entertainment

Entertainment.

Creativity Is part of our legacy as a Virgin company. It’s who we are. When it came to entertainment on board, we had to ask ourselves, “How do we do something truly different for Sailors that fits the Virgin culture?” From shows and parties to music and happenings, we knew it was important to rethink traditional entertainment at sea . The first step was to expand our Virgin Voyages Creative Collective to include entertainment creatives tasked with curating original and uniquely Virgin experiences. “Our goal was to reach out to the entertainment community,” said Richard Kilman, Vice President of  Entertainment for Virgin Voyages. “We wanted to form a Creative Collective that really understood our vision, then give them the opportunity to just be artists and create.“

That vision was very different indeed. Rather than finding and licensing existing shows for the ship,  20 creatives from the entertainment industry pitched 70 different performance concepts. Out of those 20, we narrowed things down to a final list, to add to our Creative Collective. Next step, developing the shows. “We kicked off that process by having the creatives present their shows to each other. The process was a huge success,” added Kilman. “It felt like the creation of our own little creative community with lots of mutual respect and admiration.” As a result, the Scarlet Lady will feature multiple bespoke experiences, created exclusively for Virgin Voyages.  Sailors won’t just sit and watch shows, whether traveling with their crew, partner, or cruising solo . They may be asked to participate with the cast or become immersed in the world of the piece. From modern takes on classic stories, to interactive dance parties and off-the wall participatory acts, the experiences will break down the 4th wall and push the boundaries of traditional stage performances. 

All of this in venues built to highlight these works. The Red Room, designed by renowned theater design consultants, Auerbach Pollock Friedlander, is the first transformational, multi-form theater at sea. The space changes easily from traditional Proscenium stage to alley stage mode used in fashion shows, to a flat-floor configuration where the seats are removed, creating completely different experiences for each day of the voyage.  The Manor nightclub, named after Virgin’s first music studio in England, was designed utilizing two ship decks of height to maximize how the room feels, and mimic the structure of land based clubs. An adjacent kitchen was also added, allowing for dining experiences. The room is fully equipped with a state-of-the-art acoustic design and equipment, to support DJ sets. The Scarlet Lady will feature six original shows that include a soon to be announced production by award-winning producer Randy Weiner ( Queen of the Night, The Donkey Show, Sleep No More )

“We just set out to make some kickass art!” said Pepper Lee Lohr,  Senior Manager, Entertainment - Shows & Parties  “We engaged artists from the fringes of mainstream theater and nightlife and gave them the opportunity to bring their unique experiences to the sea.” Sam Pinkleton & Ani Taj have created a hype music video disguised as an absurdist style dance party, called UNTITLED DANCESHOWPARTYTHING .  Phantom Folktales is a collection of song driven, micro plays throughout the ship, that seemingly appear out of thin air, and disappear just as quickly, created by PigPen Theatre Co.

Ships in the Night is an emotion-filled contemporary experience telling its story through the use of cutting edge digital projection interwoven with the authenticity of the human condition and Duel Reality examines the age-old tale of Romeo & Juliet with a modern twist featuring acrobatic storytelling. Both performances were made possible through our collaboration with the innovative circus company, The 7 Fingers. Never Sleep Alone , is a highly interactive show featuring relationship evangelist Dr. Alex Schiller, by creatives Roslyn Hart and Alfredo Guenzani.  To add to the overall vision, Tony Award winning creative producer, Jenny Gersten, will serve as an artistic and production liaison between the core in house Virgin Voyages Entertainment team and other members of the Collective. “What we’ve done is create a festival at sea by having many ways to play that are relatable to each of our unique Sailors.” said Travis Brendle - Senior Manager, Entertainment - Happenings and Experiences. “Though every sailor’s experiences will be different, we want them to feel as if the only place it could have happened is aboard Virgin Voyages.”  Creating moments that truly surprise Sailors, and offering many new “ways to play”, that showcase the raw human talent and passion of our entire onboard cast, is the goal. If Sailors leave saying. “You just had to be there!” or “That couldn’t have happened anywhere else!” then we know we’ve succeeded.
