I Went to Opening Weekend of the Eras Tour — Here's What to Wear to Taylor Swift's Concert

On March 18, 2023, I buzzed with excitement in a crowd of nearly 70,000 fans eagerly counting down the seconds (literally — a giant clock ticked on screen) until Taylor Swift walked onstage for her second show of the wildly-anticipated Eras Tour . Three hours and 13 minutes later, I was basking in the blissful aftermath of an epic 44-song setlist from the music icon.

But before that, I thought long and hard about what to wear to a Taylor Swift concert I'd been daydreaming about for years. With 11 albums and four re-recordings in her discography, the options were endless. Should I dress for the glimmering, moody Midnights , wander back into the whimsical woods in honor of Folklore and Evermore , embrace the bubblegum pink wonderland of Lover , or pay tribute to Red (Taylor's Version) in loafers and, well, red?

The countless Taylor Swift concert outfit ideas might seem overwhelming, but after attending the first stop on the Eras Tour, I can tell you this: You'll see a little bit of everything (and a lot of sparkles.) Some Swifties threw it back to Fearless in cowboy boots , others wore heart-covered tulle dresses, and one dedicated fan even covered herself head-to-toe in ivy in honor of the Evermore track.

When Swift first announced the impending release of her eleventh studio album,  The Tortured Poets Department  during the 2024 Grammy Awards, fans weren’t sure what to expect. But in true Swiftie fashion, it didn’t take long for the masses to become well acquainted with the album’s sultry black-and-white aesthetic, numerous Easter eggs, and  chart-topping 31-song tracklist  in the weeks following its April 19 release.

And on her first tour stop following the drop, Swift did indeed  add an entirely new section for her  TTPD  era , including songs “So High School,” “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” and “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” To dress like a devoted member of the department, sport a romantic white blouse, silky black opera gloves, or ruffled gown courtesy of the “Fortnight” music video.

Swift's second-latest album, Midnights, evokes a '70s haze, if you will, with purple eyeshadow, tousled hair, and shag coats. For the final portion of her Eras Tour setlist, the "Anti-Hero" singer wore two outfits: a sparkly T-shirt dress topped with a lavender fur jacket that was dripping in crystals and a bejeweled dark purple fringe leotard, both worn with knee-high Christian Louboutin rhinestone boots.

While you might not go that extra (or designer), the color palette is an easy place to start. I opted for these lavender metallic wide-leg trousers and this sparkly ruched cowl neck tank top , both under $25 at Cider. Folklore and Evermore , released just four months apart in 2020, took us deep into the trees where moss grew on pianos and braided buns were a must. While Swift sang songs like "Marjorie" and "Champagne Problems" during the Eras Tour, she donned a dreamy mustard maxi dress with a tiered skirt, ruffled shoulders, and gold accents. For slow burns like "Cardigan," the 12-time Grammy winner laid on the roof of a cabin and twirled around in a billowy cream maxi .

With pop anthems like "Cruel Summer" and the album's titular swoony ballad, Lover is the Taylor Swift album fans have been waiting to hear live since 2019. Before there was the starry-eyed Taylor seeing life through rose-colored glasses, we had the all-black-clad, hooded, narrow-eyed snake, aka Reputation -era Taylor . Back on her first headlining tour, curly-haired, head-banging Taylor wore countless sequin fringe mini dresses — and she wore two similar but elevated versions 13 years later for the Eras Tour. It’s arguably the event of the century: Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour . 

If you were fortunate enough to get an invite (ahem, battle through Ticketmaster’s seven layers of hell to acquire tickets ), the next most important question on your mind was likely: What on earth do I wear?

Thousands upon thousands of Swifties have cosplayed as the woman herself, styled their looks after one of her “eras,” or opted for a witty t-shirt and shorts in the name of comfort (we see you and we support you.)

But we’re here to set the record straight: The best outfit you can wear to the Eras Tour is one you already have. 

We know, it’s controversial. 

But think about it like this: You just spent an arm and a leg on tickets, and probably gas, lodging, and food to see Taylor in a nearby city, and you’re probably going to try your best to snag one of those navy blue sweatshirts at the merch stand.

Wearing something you already own — or thrifting and trading with fellow fans — is just the most economical and sustainable way to go. Plus, you don’t have to forego fashion to be eco-friendly. 

With so many online second hand retailers , Facebook groups, and “Taylor Thrift” events at local thrift stores , you’re bound to find something to help you “dress like a daydream.”

Two main buy-sell-trade Facebook groups that help Swifties find their perfect fit are “ Broke Swifties ” and “ Eras Tour Outfits ,” which have over 30,000 and 40,000 members, respectively.

Alyssa Monreal co-founded the Broke Swifties group with her friend and fellow Swiftie Gabriella Schoch, after they were eager to get their hands on the coveted “folklore cardigan” that sold out of Swift’s official merch shop.

“Somewhere along the lines, we just decided to create a community of our own,” Monreal said in a message to Good Good Good.

“We’ve seen people use it to connect with each other, as well as buy, sell, and trade. It’s honestly really fun to watch from behind the scenes.”

While the Broke Swifties group is full of fan-to-fan commerce for exclusive vinyls, collector’s items, and more, Monreal and the other admins decided to dedicate Mondays and Tuesdays as Eras Tour outfit-selling days because they saw such a demand for people looking to rehome their clothes.

“I recall seeing people specifically mentioning that they were doing what they could to be more sustainable for their outfit choices and wanting to be more thrifty,” Monreal said. “It has also definitely sparked debates about fast fashion, as well.” 

Similarly, the group rules in the Eras Tour Outfits group even include a rule that users cannot endorse fast fashion brand Shein . Rules also require members to sell their clothes for as close to retail price as possible — no price-gouging here!

“We are here to educate and protect one another,” the page reads. “Post what outfits you want to try and re-create or create for Taylor Swift's 2023 Eras Tour, show off what outfits you make once the tour starts, and sell what you've worn before to be loved and used again!”

We’re only a little jealous that this fan found a clone of it for $13 at the thrift store. Only a little. 

Other Sustainable Eras Tour Outfit Ideas

Shop from someone who has already been to the show..

Those Facebook groups we mentioned earlier are a great way to find trendy looks without shopping directly from a fast fashion retailer. 

Since many Eras Tour outfits are often ornate and sparkly — and not something you’d necessarily wear over and over again to work — extending the lifespan of a sparkly dress or a pair of leather pants is a great, sustainable way to shop for your concert outfit!

You can also try to host a clothing swap with friends or other community members if you want to try on different outfits IRL.

Repurpose something you already own.

If you already have a red scarf — boom, you are now “All Too Well (Ten Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version) [From The Vault].” 

All jokes aside, there are so many ways you can repurpose something that’s already in your closet. Perhaps you dye a garment a different color, sew on some embellishments, or style it in a new way. 

Buy a sustainably-made item you will wear time and time again.

We totally understand that bug to buy something new for a special event. And it’s not off-limits! 

But consider buying something that will have a lifespan beyond the concert: An item that is ethically and sustainably made, can fit into a number of outfits that already exist in your wardrobe, and is durable and made to last. 

Maybe instead of a quick, sequined top, you can opt for a hand-sewn linen dress that can be dressed up with all kinds of fun jewelry in  your collection! Just because this show is a once-in-a-lifetime event doesn't mean wearing your outfit has to be.

It's been a long time coming but.... it's been a crazy few years for miss Taylor Swift. She's dropped hint after hint, easter egg after easter egg, song after song, music video after music video!! She's truly a great entertainer and artist, and genuinely one of my favorite musicians to fangirl over.

I got tickets to Taylor Swift's Era's tour, and am trying to decide what era I should go as. . I can't wait to see what Taylor Swift's concert outfits are for this tour!

What do I wear to a Taylor Swift concert? Especially to the Eras tour?

Attendees are planning to wear outfits inspired by their favorite Taylor Swift era. There are ten eras total: Taylor Swift (Self-Titled), Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights. Each era has its own vibe, color aesthetic, and specific pieces Taylor wore during those periods. For example, Reputation is an absolute classic, with snake print, black leather, and tons of sass. Or maybe the Red era? I mean, that one IS my favorite Taylor Swift album. Come as a sad autumn girl with a red scarf, black high-waisted shorts and oxfords— that's definitely a vibe.

But as I was thinking through this, I thought maybe I could make mood boards and help others find the perfect Taylor Swift outfits from amazon to wear to Taylor Swift's concert on her The Eras Tour! I assure you, while putting this list together, with each era I worked on I listened to the album ;) Guaranteed inspiration!

Because of each stadium's bag policy, concert-goers need to bring a clear see-through bag to the venue. Here are a few realyl cute ones I've found. The first is pretty simple, but you can find clear bags that are really stylized to fit your eras tour outfit!

I'm also seeing a lot of people at Taylor Swift's concerts wearing body glitter and hair gems! Here are some options online that are great for doing glitzy hair and makeup the day of the Eras tour concert. The hair gem style has been SUPER popular, and you'll find a lot of other gals at the tour that are rocking similar!

If you want to come to the concert the MOST prepared, you can dress like the current Era: the Eras era! Pretty meta, right? Here are some of the outfits that Taylor's been wearing on her tour that you can recreate in your concert outfit:

Stage outfit 1— Midnights era Lavender Haze jacket

Taylor wears a pink/lavender sparkly dress with a fun faux-fur lavender coat. You can find a super sparkly dress and add a lavender faux fur coat, and look just like Taylor!

Stage outfit 2— Evermore era pink dress

Taylor's whimsical pink dress during her Evermore era is GORGEOUS. Play up your own ethereal vibe and wear a similar dress to the Eras tour!

Taylor wears this awesome one-legged jumpsuit with red snakes all over it. You can buy a black sparkly jumpsuit and attach red snake appliqués to create a look similar to it.

She's reinvented her own RED era look with a shirt that instead of saying "Not a lot going on at the moment" it says "A LOT going on at the moment"! I've found a shirt that says exactly that new phrase on Amazon. Taylor also pairs it with a pair of sparkly black bottoms and a black hat.

The "We Are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together" and "22" looks just scream 2012! Now ten years later in 2022, this style is still just as amazing and showstoppping... and iconically RED . Try to find a good striped shirt and some tailored high waisted shorts, and add a pair of red Keds to complete the look!

Be sure to wear plenty of sequins, shiny fabrics, and two-piece outfits for a true 1989 era look from Taylor Swift! Add on the quintessential white rayon-type sunglasses to look like a true 1989 fan.

One of these outfits is a callback to Taylor's look at the 2016 Grammy Awards. I think it's such a unique outfit to wear to the Era's tour, because it's not exactly a "era" look, but something SO iconic from that era! Also, can you GET more 1989 than a pair of white rayon sunglasses? They were a staple piece in Taylor Swift's 1989 era.

This era is the most similar to my own personal style, so when I attended the Rep tour, I was living my best life!! All her songs have a pop edge to them, so make sure to dress accordingly.

Pink, lots of pink. Actually, all pink. Just kidding! I put together some outfit ideas that are inspired by some of her performance looks and music video outfits from the Lover era.

The Taylor Swift Lover vibe: Lots of pink, multicolor, fringe, pearls, iridescence, hearts, and sweetness all around.

Grab a hot pink jacket and pearl sunglasses to look like Taylor from "You Need to Calm Down"! Choosing to wear a pastel sky print is such a Lover look, similar to her album cover!

Makeup for your Lover eras tour outfit

If you're wanting to dress up as Taylor's Lover era, it's a sweet detail to do the heart shape makeup over her eye like she does on her album cover! In order to do that, you'll need two main items: liquid latex and skin-safe pink glitter. You can find them here:

I've used the liquid latex above before and it works really well. All you'll need to do is outline the heart around your eye with the liquid latex, wait for it to get tacky, and then apply the pink glitter!

Folklore Era

If you aren't the sparkly-dress Taylor Swift fan, and want to be a sad cottage-core girl, here is your chance! This album screams alone-in-the-woods-and-in-the-feels.

Tap into the cottage-core look and opt for some comfy sweaters, cardigans, and ditsy floral prints. I've grabbed a few items that look similar to the outfits she wore on some of her photoshoots from this era.

Evermore Era

Am I crazy to say that Evermore is one of my favorite TSwift albums? It's definitely the most forgotten one, but WOW does it have some bops, both sad and lovely.

This era was so short-lived, but it gave us some beautiful looks! An easy go-to would be the brown/orange plaid jacket from Evermore. (I've linked on similar) Also, the Willow music video is a huge inspiration for these, and other Swifties will know exactly what you're going for!

Midnights only came out a few weeks ago while I'm writing this, so I'm still reeling from this album release! I know from the second I hear "Anti-Hero" that it would be an instant classic.

Whether you duked it out with Ticketmaster for tickets or are just going as a very lucky plus-one, you need an outfit that matches the vibe.

If you’re anything like team Marie Claire, you’ve been waiting for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour from the minute that it was announced. And whether you duked it out with Ticketmaster for tickets or are just going as a very lucky plus-one, you need an outfit that matches the vibe. Or, should I say, matches the eras of Swift’s music. 

As a fan who got to attend the show in Boston recently, I was amazed at the wide array of looks at my show. Fans were decked out in Reputation -era snake print, glitter-encrusted face paint inspired by Swift's Lovers album cover, and plenty of DIY’d T-shirts from her Speak Now days. The bottom line? The looks varied widely, proving that you can truly go in any direction when picking your outfit for the Eras tour.

I love getting dressed up for concerts, but I also want to make sure that I can wear my new pieces again and again. It was a question I asked myself over and over while shopping for my own Eras Tour ensemble: Is the look good for me for right now, or good for me forever? In the end, I opted for a bedazzled mesh dress that I could also wear again on a night out over jeans or a slip dress . For the show, I opted to style it over a bodysuit for added coverage. 

If you’re heading to the show this summer, there are a few key things to keep in mind, no matter what you wear. The show is long—five hours from the beginning of the opening act to the end of Swift’s set!—so you’ll want to wear comfortable clothing. Plus, if you’re the kind of fan who spends the majority of the concert jumping and dancing like you’re alone in your bedroom, you’ll want to wear something that you don’t have to worry about adjusting. Comfortable footwear is a must, so make sure that your new shoes don’t require breaking in before you go. Finally, the temperature tends to drop at night—especially if you’re at one of Swift’s rainier shows—so packing waterproof layers in your stadium-approved clear bag is key. (I wish I had packed a sweater.)

Ahead, I rounded up a selection of pieces for you to wear to the Eras Tour, broken down by Era. I’ve tried to think of everything: the shoes I’ve selected are known for being comfortable from the first wear. The dresses are comfortable to both sit and move around in. The jackets add warmth when you need them. Plus, many of the pieces below fall in line with some of summer 2023's biggest fashion trends . 

Taylor Swift's Debut Album Era

If you’re dying for a debut self-titled album Secret Song at your show, wear something that harkens back to Swift’s first-ever era. This time in her career was defined by pastel blue and green shades, her iconic curling-iron curls, and her country twang. Consider cowboy boots and sweet tulle skirts. 

Taylor Swift's 'Fearless' Era

Prefer gold to silver? The Fearless era is for you. This album had it all: Fireworks! A sparkly gold guitar! A gold fringed dress! More was more. To make it work, incorporate gold into your look via a pair of trendy sneakers , a going-out top in the hue, or by wearing a pair of viral gold jeans.     

Taylor Swift's 'Speak Now' Era

Speak Now was defined by one color and one color only: A rich purple. It's the color Swift is wearing on the cover of the album, and it's the shade that has stayed attached to the record ever since. Sweet midi dresses and shoes that come in the same shade are go-tos for this era. 

Taylor Swift's 'Red' Era

Red makes for an easy outfit because it only requires that you wear one color—red. Swift also went slightly preppy while on tour for the album, opting for a classic Breton striped shirt and red high-waisted denim . No matter which outfit vibe you choose, don’t forget your heart-shaped sunglasses. 

Taylor Swift's '1989' Era

1989 is one of the more unique albums in Swift’s discography regarding her looks. While she repped matching sets on tour for the album, she's opted for orange ensembles while on the current Eras Tour.

Taylor Swift's 'Reputation' Era

My personal favorite era as someone who loves to wear all-black, Reputation- inspired outfits are perfect for those who prefer a little drama. From the actual sheer mesh dress I wore to my own concert to a statement-making choker necklace priced at under $50, this era is all about going all-out. 

Taylor Swift's 'Lover' Era

If you love playing with color, consider a Lover- era ensemble for your concert. The key colors for this era were bright Barbiecore pink and rich blue, but pastel shades like baby pink and lavender —a trending color for 2023—were also popular. Go all-out with a heart-shaped stencil around your eye, or heart-shaped earrings. 

Taylor Swift's 'Folklore' Era

Folklore was a departure from the previous maximalist Lover era. The aesthetic for the album was a combination of woodland fairy and cottagecore. On-stage, this translates to flowing summer dresses in muted shades like olive green. IRL, pair lacy layers with chunky cardigans and sweet Mary Jane shoes.

Taylor Swift's 'Evermore' Era

Cozy-core fans, the Evermore era is for you. Taylor’s second pandemic album was full of woodland references but, unlike its predecessor, the vibe this time around was very much fall-inspired. Flannel dresses, comfy Birkenstock sandals, and other comfy pieces reign supreme. Shades to highlight include marigold yellow and burnt red. 

Taylor Swift's 'Midnights' Era

Good thing silver everything is one of 2023’s biggest trends—Taylor is obsessed with the shade for her Midnights era. Her looks from this time in her career are about metallics , drama, and deep shades like navy blue and fushia. If you can’t stop listening to “Karma” or You’re On Your Own Kid,” This one is for you.

What sneakers are they wearing? What is that pants brand? For the inaugural edition of People Watching, we posted up at Penn Station ahead of Taylor Swift’s first Eras tour show at MetLife Stadium.

Wherever Taylor Swift’s Eras tour goes, a flurry of sequins follows. But what color sequins? And for which era? And what about all the cowboy boots? The tour made a three-night stop in town during Memorial Day weekend, so on Friday, May 26, I headed to Penn Station, hoping to glean some insight from the crush of concertgoers commuting to MetLife Stadium via NJ Transit. The show’s official start time was 6:30 p.m., so I arrived at the atrium at 4 and lingered among Swifties excitedly checking their phones and outfits, chatting with many of them about their knee-high cowboy boots, Shein crop tops, and the Advil and hair ties stuffed into their clear stadium bags. Here’s what I learned.

The unofficial Eras tour uniform is, obviously, a fun dress + cowboy boots

The combination leaves lots of room for interpretation, depending on which era they wanted to rep. Concertgoers went Fearless glam in fringed flapper dresses; Reputation edgy in tight leather; Lover romantic in puffy organza; and Folklore cottagecore in corseted Renaissance looks. This dreamy Selkie number I saw someone wearing was definitely a nod to Lover .

Final sequins + sparkles count: 67

From sequined dresses to shimmery eye shadow, pretty much every Swiftie was sporting some sort of sparkle. I counted nearly 70 people wearing rhinestones, sequins, or glitter, and I probably missed a lot more. “My friend who went to the Atlanta concert told me she felt left out because she didn’t have sparkles on, so she told me to make sure my outfit had them,” said one fan. These emerald sequined shorts worn by another were a reference to Swift’s serpentine Reputation era.

Final rainbow count: 11

Most memorable was this rainbow-fringe jacket that can pull double duty for Pride.

Final cowboy-boot count: 34

I saw several people wearing this tall white pair.

Though fans with floor tickets were wearing sneakers

Among those planning to fight their way to the front pit, white sneakers overwhelmingly won out. “Nah, nah to the cowboy boots,” said one fan. “We’re about to go into battle. Sneakers only.” I noticed both Nike AF1s and Vejas in the crowd.

I saw two people in this Shein top

It comes in 12 colors, but both had it in hot pink.

Colorful jumpsuits abounded

Especially in shades of pink and purple. Someone wearing a lilac Big Bud Press jumpsuit immediately caught my eye, since I own the same one.

Finishing touches included hats and lots of butterflies …

I saw a lot of cowboy hats with what I’ll call a “fun flair,” like this pink one with feathers — and it comes with heart sunglasses, another staple in the crowd. There were also lots of classic black fedoras from the Red era and countless butterfly clips and accessories (a recurring motif for Swift ).

… plus full sleeves of DIY friendship bracelets

Many fans bought bead kits online and crafted bracelets in the weeks before the show. A sampling of what I saw: “GAYLOR,” “WOULDA COULDA SHOULDA,” “KARMA IS A GOD,” “SCREAMING CRYING,” “SPEAK NOW (TV),” “OUR SONG,” “NYC ERA,” “I’M ON SOME NEW SHIT,” “BETTER THAN REVENGE,” “SUPERSTAR,” “BAD BLOOD,” “F JOHN MAYER,” “F’D IN THE HEAD,” “BITCH NOT A BALLER,” “CHECKMATE,” “SEXY BABY.”

Lover was the most represented album …

“I feel like the Lover era is the easiest to re-create with things you already have, because it’s just bright colors and sequins,” one person told me. Another paired rhinestone tights with this simple Lover necklace.

… closely followed by Midnights

“I went for a little celestial moment,” said one fan about her blue velvet top and moon-and-star accessories.

The best clear bags had a chain strap

I saw dozens of people carrying this one, which looks more like a purse but aligns with clear-bags-only stadium guidelines. Clear backpacks and cross-bodies were also very well represented (fanny packs less so).

In their clear bags, people were bringing:

Male Swifties wore pastel button-downs

Lots of pink, lavender, and sky blue, paired with white shorts or overalls.

Dillydalliers had to settle for whatever would ship quickly from Amazon

Multiple people I talked to ended up scrambling because the products they ordered didn’t arrive in time for the concert, or they just procrastinated too long, so they had to grab something last minute, like this generic lyric shirt.

I saw a lot of “ Not a Lot Going on at the Moment ” shirts

It was an ironic pronouncement for one fan, who recently had a baby.

Inside Taylor Swift's 'Eras' tour wardrobe – from designer sketches to outfit details

The star performs a three-hour set in a series of striking bodysuits and ball gowns

Taylor Swift's record-breaking 'Eras' tour has now returned to Wembley for a further five nights, with the final show on 20 August closing the European leg of her tour. It's the second round of shows in London, with her previous batch seeing an an on-stage cameo appearance from her American footballer boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

The return comes after the three-hour show was forcibly cancelled in Vienna; Swift's three sold-out shows at the Ernst Happel Stadium were called off after the Austrian authorities arrested three suspects who were reportedly planning an attack on the concert. Swift has since announced five new support acts for her upcoming live shows in the capital; alongside Paramore, Raye, Suki Waterhouse, Maisie Peters, Sofia Isella and Holly Humberstone are all slated to appear.

The show, which previously travelled across America before heading off internationally, is split into different sections to represent each of Swift's albums, and naturally features a string of high-octane looks, with bespoke outfits for each era.

"The tour represents a very important moment in Taylor's career, because she conceived and built it as a journey through the different moments or, as the title suggests, the musical eras defining her career," explained Alberta Ferretti, one of the designers behind one of Swift's many on-stage ensembles. "I'm honoured that she asked me to design dresses for this special occasion. I have always been fascinated by women who constantly question and challenge themselves and Taylor, with her work, has demonstrated to be a multifaceted artist, able to constantly transform and evolve."

Each look was carefully considered and designed to reflect the feel of each album: a floaty lilac Alberta Ferretti gown and a ruffled orange Etro design for Folklore , for example, or a one-legged snake-motif Roberto Cavalli jumpsuit for Reputation. As the tour has progressed, Swift has debuted the occasional new piece at each destination, switching up the wardrobe slightly from venue to venue.

In the brief tour hiatus before the European leg, Swift released a new album – The Tortured Poets Department – which means that fans were treated to an expanded set list from those who saw earlier versions of the show, with new costumes to match. Having initially kicked off in Arizona in March 2023, the tour will finally conclude in Vancouver in December 2024.

Here, we chart some highlights from her impressive tour wardrobe, from designer sketches to up-close details:

Zuhair Murad

Swift unveiled a new Zuhair Murad look while on-stage at Wembley Stadium – her fourth variation of bodysuit by the Lebanese designer for the Midnights era section of the tour. The corseted design was decorated with beaded fringing, silver stars and a crescent moon.

Vivienne Westwood

The singer debuted a new custom Vivienne Westwood dress on her opening night in Milan.

The white taffeta corseted design was embellished with black crystals spelling out the lyrics, "Who’s afraid of little old me? You should be…", from her single, Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me? .

Tiffany & Co

For the London leg of her tour, Swift added an elegant piece of jewellery in the form of a Tiffany T Diamond Wire ring in 18k gold by Tiffany & Co , which she wore on the index finger of her right hand.

Swift took to the stage in Paris wearing this custom silver twill tailcoat with black crystal-embellished lapel by Vivienne Westwood, paired with a custom silver twill bustier and matching high-waisted briefs. She completed the look with a three-row orb choker in black agate.

The previous night, she wore the same Vivienne Westwood look but in gunmetal and black.

Roberto Cavalli

The singer also debuted this colourful two-piece set created by Roberto Cavalli creative director Fausto Puglisi, which she wore with mismatching boots.

The mini skirt and bustier were meticulously adorned with stones, sequins, and bejewelled crystals in varying colours, with ombré shading to add depth.

She also wore a yellow and orange version of the look.

Another bright Roberto Cavalli look came in the form of this floaty gown with a tiered skirt, which has been created in multiple colourways.

The chiffon dress features an ombré design in varying sunset colours, and a hemline that's shorter at the front and extends longer in the back.

Taylor Swift kicked off the European leg of her tour in a sparkling double-breasted Versace blazer, embellished with iridescent fuchsia crystals and accented with gold Medusa buttons. She paired the custom jacket with ombré Christian Louboutin boots – a bespoke version of the Eleonora Botta style – covered with thousands of glittering strass crystals.

Underneath the blazer she wore a crystal-embroidered Versace bodysuit with bustier boning structure, covered in paillettes in tones of orange with iridescent elements.

For the new Tortured Poets Department section, Swift debuted this custom corseted Vivienne Westwood dress. The design, created from recycled white taffeta, featured lyrics from her latest single, Fortnight : "I love you, it's ruining my life."

She styled the dress with a matching white military jacket with tasselled epaulettes, and lace-up Christian Louboutin ankle boots.

The singer also added a new Zuhair Murad couture bodysuit to her wardrobe rotation in Paris. The cut-out piece featured fringing and embroidery in varying shades of midnight blue.

Alberta Ferretti

The singer has worn numerous Alberta Ferretti designs throughout the tour so far, including this flowing yellow dress seen in Paris.

The custom tiered gown featured voluminous sleeves and delicate crystal and micro-beading embroidery.

Nicole + Felicia

In Singapore, Taylor Swift performed onstage in a voluminous lilac Nicole + Felicia ballgown, featuring a tiered tulle skirt that captured the light, thanks to its crystal-embellished finish.

Social media is packed with fans showing off their Eras Tour outfits. From sequins to cowboy hats, bodysuits, and even the occasional Christmas tree. But if you're still looking for inspiration, don't worry!

I know I want to wear something unique, not fast fashion that's designed to be throwaway. While I may lust after Taylor's custom designer dresses and bodysuits on stage, I know something that special is out of my reach. But as a vintage fashion fan, I can't help but see how Taylor's costumes are inspired by eras of vintage style themselves.

This made me realize - there are a lot of unique and very special vintage clothes  out there that would inspire  unique Eras Tour outfits. 

So, let's take a look, album by album, era by era, through some vintage inspiration for your Eras Tour outfit.

Eras Tour Outfit Ideas

1. taylor swift.

Starting off with a throwback to 2006, if you want a cute outfit for the Eras Tour that's a homage to the era that started it all, take some inspiration from Taylor's early outfits as she toured to promote her debut album.

For a true debut era Taylor Swift outfit, look for Y2K vintage dresses. When looking back at Taylor's debut style, she wore a lot of halternecks and handkerchief hem dresses, with " boho chic " prints and tiered skirts .

Pair your debut era dress with a pair of cowboy boots and a cowboy hat to really nail the vibe.

2. Fearless

Fearless is the era of sparkly mini dresses, sequins, and fringed dresses. Taylor's Eras Tour Fearless outfit is a modern version of the designer dresses she wore on the original tour.

It's time to bring out your ballgowns for Speak Now. Taylor's Eras Tour outfits are an ever-changing assortment of gorgeous designer full-length gowns, all in soft pastel shades.

If Red is your era, you already know the color of choice! For this outfit, I've taken inspiration from the red and black sequined body suit and coat Taylor wears on the tour.

The beaded 80s corset top and black leather shorts  create a cool version of the Red outfit that's easy to wear. Throw on an oversized vintage sequin jacket, and you'll be ready to join in the ATWTMTV!

I bet you think about me

Multiple incredible red dresses are worn in the I Bet You Think About Me  music video that would make standout Eras Tour outfits. Each one is decorated with voluminous red ruffles and roses . These vintage dresses from the 80s and 90s were made for proms and parties. 

The 1989 era features a wardrobe full of coordinating mini skirts and crop top sets that never go out of style, just like the original 1989 era.

The first 1989 costumes were matching beaded sets. These 1980s tops feature delicate beading in cropped styles that are very similar to Taylor's outfits.

The new 1989 outfits mix and match glittery tops and skirts in a rainbow selection of colors. For your own 1989 Era's Tour outfit, go for any brightly colored, beaded, fringed, or glittery crop top and mini skirt. Pick your favorite album-associated color to make it your own  style .

Rep may only have one costume of its own on the Eras Tour, but the original Reputation Stadium Tour had some iconic sequined looks that make this one of the most popular eras to dress for.

The opening era for the concert has created the iconic Lover bodysuit that's being recreated all over social media. But if you aren't that into DIY, you can still get a unique sequined Lover fit that will stand out in the crowd.

It goes without saying, Lover needs pink and glitter ! Butterflies are also a recurring motif from debut through to Lover. Just like the 80s top from the Rep outfit before, this butterfly top is another 80s cropped and sequined piece. To dress for the Lover era, pair a sequin top with a patterned sequin skirt.  This way you can get the sequined look of the era without going full bodysuit.

I'd be the Man

The  perfect layer to throw over any Eras Tour outfit is a fancy blazer. It will keep you warm when you leave, and it has pockets! With bag size restricted in most venues, any pocket space is a huge bonus.

Channel The Man with your own oversized vintage blazer. These vintage blazers come from the 80s, the peak moment for pastel-colored power suits. This vintage pink snake-print blazer deserves a moment to be admired for how perfect it is for this occasion. 

8. folklore

My personal favorite Eras Tour outfit is the bohemian style dresses worn for the folklore and evermore (or now, folkmore) sets. There's just something about swishing around in those chiffon maxi dresses with floaty sleeves!

How To Dress for the Folklore Era

Starting off with inspiration from Taylor's costumes and the performances during the folklore era. 

These 70s and early 80s dresses capture the ethereal aesthetic of the folklore outfits so well. They are a homage to Stevie Nicks' 1970s hippy stage style. The long swishing skirts and floaty sleeves will let you feel like you're floating around as you dance.

It's time to get witchy for the evermore era. It might be combined with the folklore era now, but evermore is still deserving of it's own Eras Tour outfit.

When it comes to dressing for the evermore era, go for earthy colors like forest green, brown, and deep yellows. Look for textures like velvet and lace, and accessorize with plenty of star-like sparkles.

10. Midnights

One of the most beautiful costumes on the Eras Tour is the Midnights era bodysuit. The deep midnight blue coupled with the beads falling from the suit creates the effects of droplets of rain in the moonlight.

The 1980s come in again with some banger vintage styles that are perfect for the Midnights era.

Royal blue was an iconic shade in the 80s, combined with the 80s love of all things sequined, beaded, and glam , which means there is a wealth of beautiful vintage pieces out there that look straight off the Eras' stage. 

For your Midnights era outfit, go for one of these beaded 80s pieces. You'll be channeling the Midnight's bodysuit in your own unique style.

Karma is the guy on the Chiefs  

So, the Karma jacket Taylor wears on the Eras Tour is covered in tinsel tassels. But that's the kind of thing you're probably going to wear once and never have a use for again. To get the Karma vibe but keep it wearable and unique, I've gone for a vintage 90s satin slip dress with a rainbow sequined cardigan .

An alternative option is this metallic dress (to capture all the colors) paired with this beautiful 80s beaded capelet . I love how it mixes the beads from the Midnights body suit with the cover-up of the Karma jacket.

11. The Tortured Poets Department

New to the Eras Tour in 2024 is the Tortured Poets Department set, featuring brand new songs from the newly released album. With an aesthetic centered around tight-laced Victorian fashion that leads into a vibe of 1920s showgirl performing at her own circus, it's a fun new theme to join in with.

TTPD Inspired Eras Tour Outfits

The key to a TTPD outfit is the colors. White, black, gold, and silver are all featured in the era's color palette.

A white dress with a tight corset or cinched waist is a perfect Victorian style base, especially one that can be unbuttoned or pinned up. This beaded corset dress with a drop waist and chiffon skirt is a beautiful nod to Clara Bow 's 1920s showgirl style.

Paired with a cropped military-style jacket  or a glittery, sequined, or satin bolero  and some long black gloves.

For a fortnight 

A more casual take on a TTPD-inspired outfit could be a recreation of the Victorian looks from the Fortnight music video.

If you’re looking for a luxury or budget-friendly hotel, check out my list of the best hotels in downtown St Pete . The splurge-worthy hotel is definitely The Vinoy ! But, if you don’t mind a little drive then you should consider either The DonCesar or The Sand Pearl Resort .

VRBO rentals in St Petersburg are another popular option, especially with larger family gatherings. For some rentals, you can literally walk out your door into the action. This top-rated 2-bedroom VRBO rental is a favorite in the area for its walkability to all the St Pete shops and restaurants.

Downtown St Pete Pier

A visit to St Petersburg is only complete with spending some time at the iconic St Pete Pier. Close to the water’s edge of Tampa Bay, St Pete Pier is a bustling place thanks to its abundance of shops, restaurants, parks, and museums.

If you have the time and opportunity, you should visit the stunning waterfront because there are lots of events and activities to do there.

This glittering new facility on the city’s waterfront promises endless entertainment from frequent travelers to locals. The 26 gorgeous acres effortlessly blend Tampa Bay’s calm waters with the vivid greenery of the city’s parks to create the ideal location for strolling, biking, dining, jungle gyms, shopping, swimming, attending concerts, and more.

While the St Pete Pier has free admission, there is a fee to see the museums, as well as metered parking.

The Great Explorations Children’s Museum is an excellent place for kids to explore, learn and have fun. With its interactive exhibits, exciting activities, and engaging educational programs, it’s the perfect spot for younger visitors to get curious and engaged with the world around them.

The museum offers a broad range of topics that can be explored through hands-on learning. This is one of our favorite places to take to my toddler. The Salvador Dali Museum

The Salvador Dali Museum is a must-see when visiting St Petersburg. Not only does it boast an impressive permanent collection of Salvador Dali’s works, but it also offers visitors the chance to experience the surreal world of the artist. It features masterpieces from every stage of Dali’s career, allowing guests to gain a comprehensive understanding of his unique talent.

The Salvador Dali Museum itself is a work of art. Drive around back along the waterfront, and you’ll see what I mean. There is a beautiful garden and sitting area you can enjoy. Don’t miss the gift shop, where you can find unique gifts to take home. The Mahaffey Theater is located next door if you decide to stay for a show.

Plus, you are traveling with young children, one of the hidden gems in St Petersburg is Albe rt W hitted Park , directly behind the Dali Museum. It has beautiful views of the waterfront and it overlooks the airport. Kids can climb on the playground equipment designed to look like airplanes, while you enjoy watching the sailboats. There are also shaded gazebos for a picnic.

🤑 Pro Tip: There is metered parking along the water and sometimes easier to find rather than Central Avenue or Beach Drive.

James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art

The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art is perhaps one of the most beautiful western art museums I’ve ever been to. From the time you enter the museum, you’ll be awed by the flawless layout with massive bronze sculptures of Native Americans and depictions of the old west.

Visitors can take part in many educational programs or even arrange guided excursions. I was surprised at how kid-friendly this museum was, offering classes and other things to do.

I also found some unique items in their gift shop, such as beautiful jewelry and kid’s trains, etc. It’s definitely well worth a visit to see this permanent collection of the old west.

Museum of the Arts & Crafts Movement

One of the newer museums in St Petersburg is the Museum of the Arts & Crafts Moment. This massive 40,000 square feet of gallery space has a retail store, an upscale café and restaurant, a children’s gallery, a theater, a graphic studio, and more!

Here you will see fine arts examples by Gustav Stickley, Frank Lloyd Wright, William Grueby, Newcomb Pottery, Charles Rohlfs, Margaret Patterson, Louis Sullivan, plus many other gifted women and craftsmen.

Beyond the artists, you will see a variety of original pieces from handmade furniture, pottery, tiles, lighting, photography, fine arts, textiles, metalwork, room installations, and other artwork.

Chihuly Collection at Morean Arts Center

The Chihuly Collection is a unique exhibition at the Morean Arts Center that houses a long-term collection of the unique glass works of Dale Chihuly, an internationally renowned artist.

Dale Chihuly’s artwork has been seen throughout Paris and London, along with Seattle’s spectacular Chihuly Garden. Here you can see his sculptures, plus glass-blowing demonstrations.

One of his most famous pieces is the ruby red icicle chandelier at the Morean Arts Center. The Ruby Red Icicle Chandelier is a spectacular studio glass piece that truly stands out with its pointy red droplets.

The Florida Holocaust Museum

Located in downtown St Pete, The Florida Holocaust Museum has been providing education for over 30+ years on the travesty that occurred during World War II.

Here you will find one of the best museums on the Holocaust, with many authentic artifacts such as clothing, photography, eating utensils, handwritten notes, etc. This permanent collection really leaves you with a deeper understanding and appreciation for our freedom today.

The Florida Holocaust Museum also has a small, but reasonably priced gift shop with donations that support the museum.

The Museum of Fine Arts

For art lovers, you’ll want to make a stop at the Museum of Fine Arts in the heart downtown on Beach Drive.

The museum features an extensive permanent collection of decorative arts along with folk arts artwork from African Art, American photography, and European paintings.

Imagine Museum

While I could keep going with the amazing art museums, The Imagine Museum is my last one for this article. If you are into contemporary glass art you’ll have to visit the Imagine Museum.

Just a few years ago, the Imagine Museum was not yet opened, but within a short time has gained popularity. It is the first museum in the US to focus solely on contemporary glass art and shares vital details about the movement and studio glass artists.

You’ll be blown away by what magnificent glass masterpieces. Plus, if you’re needing a little motivation, there are inspirational quotes throughout the 2-story building. The Imagine Museum has a little scavenger hunt that makes it a lot of fun for the whole family.

St Pete Boat Tours: Make Time on the Water!

There are many different tour types available, depending on what type of adventure you are looking for. If you really want to see dolphins, you can sign up for one of the dolphin boat tours . These tours are very reasonably priced for a day out on the water.

In Tampa Bay there are beautiful sunset cruises , tiki tours , night kayak tours , which are great activities for couples. They also have family snorkeling tours to Egmont Key or Shell Key, which are ideal for families with children.

Take the Cross Bay Ferry to Tampa

Taking the downtown ferry to Tampa is a fun way to explore Tampa especially if you’re staying at downtown St Pete hotel. You can easily walk from Straub Park and jump aboard. Avoid the traffic and enjoy some time on the water!

Tampa has so much to offer! From fun things to do for couples or families , you won’t run out of interesting sights. If you only have a day to explore, I highly recommend the ferry. Otherwise, Tampa really deserves more time and stay the night in downtown Tampa hotel .

Explore Historic Landmarks in St Pete

St. Petersburg is home to several historic landmarks and buildings that are worth exploring. Downtown St Pete is super easy to navigate whether you go for a bike ride or stroll. From the breathtaking Vinoy Renaissance Resort & Golf Club located right by the waterfront (which was built in 1925). In recent years, they have been doing a lot of construction to bring it back to its glory.

Whether you book a hotel night stay here or visit for a drink, it’s one of the most iconic hotels similar to the glorious pink palace in St Pete Beach, The Don CeSar .

St Petersburg offers self-guided audio tours if you have interest in seeing the Historic Outdoor Museum of Roser Park, African American Heritage Trails, and Downtown Waterfront Walking Tours.

Eat at the Best Restaurants in Downtown St Petersburg

Try out some of the numerous cafés, restaurants, and bistros while in St. Petersburg. You will surely get hungry in downtown St Petersburg whether your favorite meal is an American sandwich or a Swiss dessert.

Parkshore Grill

The Parkshore Grill is one of my long-time favorite restaurants for consistent quality meals with a gorgeous setting. I recommend booking in advance on OpenTable.

It’s also no surprise that this restaurant is always busy, given the wonderful scenery just outside the restaurant. You can choose to eat al fresco while overlooking the city’s waterfront.

It also has a great weekend brunch menu in addition to lunch and dinner.

Steaks, fresh fish, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and paninis are just some of the options. Some of my favorites: the scallops, salmon, parkshore salad, and the decadent mac and cheese.

The Ceviche St Petersburg has a luxurious and grand feel to it, and it’s a great place to relax and spend time with friends and family. Brussels, fresh salmon, oxtail, and churros are just a few delicious things you can order from its menu. Don’t pass on their red sangria (I prefer it the standard way).

For a fun date night, order a variety of tapas for your table to share. If you like the outdoors or people-watching, ask for a table outside. This is a prime location on Beach Drive just to enjoy the scenery.

On less than desirable weather conditions, they have a gorgeous interior with bright colors and beautiful tiles that make you want to stay longer.

Urban Stillhouse

The Urban Stillhouse is a great place to eat an expensive steak and drink whiskey (sounds like Yellowstone!).  This 2-story restaurant has a dark interior with a high-end industrial vibe.

The Urban Stillhouse offers novel and traditional American foods that are grilled to order. It’s best to book a table in advance on OpenTable.

The Library Restaurant

The Library Restaurant is one of my favorite brunch locations. While it’s not near the heart of downtown, it’s just a short drive away.

The Library provides an escape from daily stresses with a unique atmosphere and delicious entrees.

Casita Taqueria

Casita Taqueria on Central Avenue is a go-to casual spot for locals who like a wide range of tasty tacos! If you’re craving Shrimp, Carnitas, or Slow Roasted Pork, you’ll be delighted by their savory options.

All of their corn tortillas are prepared in-house, and they only use the freshest available local produce. They also have delicious chips and queso, and a cute patio outback for guests to utilize.

Pub Trolley Tour

You need the trolley pub tour when you want to go from bar to bar in a city. Why not get a tour and drinks while on vacation? It’s truly a win-win.

With this tour, you can go to different breweries and drink their incredible, one-of-a-kind drinks without a care in the world. Along the way, you can also meet new people who like the same things you do and take pictures going to and from each checkpoint.

Grand Central District

As a local, I’ve seen the Grand Central District really take off in the last 10 years. It’s gone from bland to fabulous as more local restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, and artsy boutiques continue to flock here.

Take time for a stroll, and enjoy the scene! Anyone that travels with dogs, must make time at one of my favorites, The Dog Bar . Plus, you have the Hatchet Hangout Axe Throwing , antique shops , and more. Three Daughters Brewing is located in this district.

Visit Local St Pete Breweries & Distilleries

If you enjoy drinking, St. Petersburg won’t let you down. Here are a few in the downtown area that are excellent choices.

3 Daughters Brewing

A couple of my personal favorite breweries are the 3 Daughters Brewing and Green Bench Brewing. Both have a lot to offer and are good for the entire family.

At the 3 Daughters Brewing, you could stay most of the day since they have other things to do, such as live music events, food, games, and local vendors selling their handmade items.

Green Bench Brewing Company

Green Bench Brewing Company specializes in a family-friendly beer garden serving IPAs, ales, and ciders. From dogs to children, everyone is welcome! It has a spacious interior and friendly staff. If you like good beer, this is one of the best breweries in St Petersburg.

Kozuba and Sons Distillery

As far as distilleries, Kozuba and Sons Distillery is a fun place to stop and sample (try the lemon vodka). The distillery has a great atmosphere, like a speakeasy during the prohibition era.

St Pete Distillery

St Pete Distillery has a delicious coconut rum, and the orange liqueur is particularly good. While it’s at the end of town, it’s a good take-home gift idea to remember your time in the area.

Stopping at these places for a while will give you and your friends new things to do. Visiting these places will not only allow you to have unique and fine wine but also find out how they brew their alcohol. Who knows, you might even start your brewery one day.

Beautiful Outdoor Parks & Gardens in Downtown St Pete

Beautiful parks and gardens in the center of St. Pete St. Petersburg, Florida, are surrounded by trees and plants that are very healthy and full of life. This means that people can enjoy the peace and greenery that the area.

You can unwind as you spend hours touring the many parks in the city. So, here are my top favorite parks in downtown St Petersburg.

Sunken Gardens

The Sunken Gardens are home to the region’s oldest tropical plants, some of which are over a century old. Here, you can enjoy the beautiful display gardens, horticultural programs, flowing waterfalls, flamingos, and a live collection of more than 6,000 plant species.

The gardens are attached to the Great Explorations Children’s Museum , which makes it an ideal stop for families. You can easily see both on the same day. While I like Sunken Gardens, I seem to spend more time in the local parks.

Since it is one of Florida’s last remaining roadside attractions, Sunken Gardens visitors should be prepared to stay on the paved trails and avoid touching the plants. There is also an admission fee to tour Sunken Gardens.

Glazer Family Playground at St Pete Pier

At St Pete Pier, you’ll find a large playground for the kids (toddlers to older children), concessions, and a splash pad. They also have Spa Beach, which is a nice place to cool off on a hot day. This is a popular spot, and best to come early if you want to avoid crowds.

Looking for that perfect photo to take of downtown St Petersburg? Make a quick stop in Vinoy Park.

Vinoy Park, a two-mile stretch of shoreline in the heart of St. Petersburg, provides picturesque views of the city, the breathtaking waterfront, and the nearby historic Vinoy Renaissance Resort . The park is a nice spot to unwind in the shade while reading a book or to spend time with friends and family in the open green areas. Many of the top events held in the city each year take place there as well, like Florida’s Largest Pride Parade .

It’s one of the hidden gems in St Petersburg since it’s not something most still know about.

North Shore Park & Aquatic Complex

North Shore Park is a 30-acre waterfront park with a North Shore Aquatic Complex , a kid’s playground, a dog park, beach volleyball courts, softball fields, and more!

It is located next to Vinoy Park and offers an array of activities, low-cost or free things to do. While in North Shore Park, visit the free gardens and enjoy a walk along the waterfront.

Dell Holmes Park

Dell Holmes Park is one of my new favorite parks in St. Petersburg, Florida. If I’m honest – finding a park that checks all my family’s boxes is challenging, especially if you want to avoid crowds like at the St Pete Pier. In fact, I would drive all the way up to Tarpon Springs Waterpark to find something similiar.

Dell Holmes Park is just south of downtown St. Petersburg and is free to use. The park is situated on Lake Maggiore which is ideal for boating, fishing, and walking trails. My husband especially appreciates the driving range and putting green. At the same time, my son loves the massive playground area and waterpark. You’ll find plenty of picnic areas and covered space so you can enjoy the park year round.

Crescent Lake Park

Crescent Lake Park stands out from the rest of St. Petersburg’s parks because of its stunning scenery. People are calmed by the trees, plants, and water as they walk around the perimeter of the pond.

Crescent Lake Park is surrounded by lovely banyan trees and is a popular spot for a range of activities. Bring a blanket or sit on the grass and participate in Healthy St. Pete’s Free Yoga in the Park program.

Additionally, The Huggins-Stengel Sports Complex, TASCO’s Center for Teen Technology, a playground, a dog park, and recreation paths are all located in this park. 

👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 Pro Tip:   If you have young children, Crescent Lake has a nice shaded playground that’s close to downtown and less busy than the St Pete Pier (with free parking).

Check Out the Adorable Boutiques & Bookstores

Unique souvenirs are simple to find in downtown St. Petersburg, thanks to the abundance of boutiques and unique bookstores downtown.

A cup of steaming coffee is ideal for waking up and preparing for the day ahead. There are numerous cafés in downtown St Petersburg where you may purchase their best coffee. The best coffee businesses have inviting décor and delectable beverages, like Bandit Coffee Co. and Black Crow Coffee Shop. My personal favoirte is Bandit Coffee Company, and it’s next to Wild Child (another one of my secret hidden gems for Sunday brunch)!

Tampa Bay Rays Game

The Tampa Bay Rays, a major league baseball team from St. Petersburg, are worth checking out if you enjoy a ball game. Check out the schedule for the Tropicana Field prior to your visit.

During the off-season or away games, they have other events at Tropicana Field, such as Enchant ( Christmas Lights ), Boat Shows, and more! For years, Tampa Bay Rays talked about moving their stadium to Tampa or even out of state! Locals like myself are glad to see they are staying put while they build a brand new stadium on the property!

Florida’s St. Petersburg is home to numerous unique and local markets. Flea markets, farmer’s markets, and Saturday morning markets are important locations where you can easily buy household goods, food, and souvenirs.

Mazzaro’s Italian Market

Customers and tourists can purchase a variety of delectable items at Mazzaro’s Italian Market. For those that love fresh coffee beans, cheese, homemade pasta, meat, and wine, you’ll have to make a stopover on 22nd Avenue North.

My personal favorite is getting their fresh homemade to-go lasagne and caesar salad. The portion is large enough for sharing, and it’s delicious! Plus, don’t miss the dessert area – I have had so many amazing things here.

Saturday Morning Market: Downtown St Pete Farmer’s Market

Travel is sometimes exhausting and enjoyable. A great chance to breathe in the air while preserving the local culture is to visit the Saturday morning market.

With more than 100 vendors that sell everything from fresh food to artisan desserts made at local farms. They also sell outstanding handmade crafts, goods, and other products.

The Saturday morning market is the best place to go when planning a picnic – pick up a few things and then stroll over to Vinoy Park or the St Pete Pier.

Corey Avenue Sunday Market on St. Pete Beach

St. Petersburg has a boatload of fantastic markets, but another one of my top things to do in St. Petersburg is visit the Corey Avenue Sunday Market. The whole street is shut down as live music, fresh produce, locally made crafts, and 75+ unique vendors come together every Sunday. We usually like to walk around and then pop over to Upham Beach and grab a pasterie and coffee at CocoAddiction .

You’ll be amazed as to why music is such a significant component of the events planned in St. Petersburg, Florida. Well, it’s because the locals love music, and they enjoy listening to rock, jazz, and other genres of music, resulting in numerous live music performances.

Mahaffey Theater

The Mahaffey Theater (Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts) is a sophisticated performing arts and concert hall located in the same complex as The Dali. It has over 2,000 seats with beautiful views of Tampa Bay.

The Mahaffey Theater is where you will see headliners or see a ballet or other large-scale event. I’ve seen a variety of performances over the years, from Lorretta Lynn to performing arts shows. The Mahaffey Theater often has shows for the whole family – such as the popular, Big Red Dog Musical.

See a Show at Jannus Live

Located in downtown St Pete, Jannus Live is one of the premier outdoor music venues in St. Petersburg. With a variety of genres spanning rock, pop, hip-hop, and jazz, there’s an eclectic offering of musical talents. Get ready for an unforgettable night of live music!

Floridian Social Club

Because of its well-known, distinctive exteriors and interiors, this area stands out from other places. It hosts public concerts, private events, and open-to-the-public social gatherings. Additionally, there is an open lounge where food and drinks will be served to attendees of a certain event. Check out their upcoming events page to hopefully catch their performing arts while you’re in town.

Unique Bars in Downtown St Pete

There are numerous bars in St. Petersburg’s downtown where visitors may have a good time. Going to the local taverns is a great opportunity to learn about the history of the community and how hospitable the people are. Additionally, you have a variety of options to select from, allowing you to try something new.

Canopy Rooftop Lounge

Located far above the streets, The Canopy is a rooftop bar where you can have a drink and take in the amazing view. The stylish lounge is situated on the roof of the Birchwood Hotel and offers private cabanas, cozy fire pits, and comfortable lounge seats with unobstructed views of the downtown St Petersburg waterfront.

The Full-Service Bar offers patrons a choice of handcrafted cocktails, fine wines, and an assortment of spirits, while birchwood’s upper-level cuisine serves a seasonal menu for casual dishes, including sandwiches, flatbreads, and appetizers all prepared in-house.

This is my favorite rooftop bar in downtown St Petersburg. Come at happy hour, which runs from 4-7 pm, and take in the sunset. Enjoy the drink specials(such as red or white sangria for 5 bucks). They have a very nice charcuterie board with a great mix of meats, cheese, fruits, and nuts. Late night hours, this becomes more like a nightclub with a DJ or live music.

If you are looking for a unique atmosphere and fun cocktails, check out The Saint. This speakeasy requires a password to get in (it’s on their website and Instagram), so you’re bound to have a great time. It is located in St. Petersburg’s Grand Central neighborhood. Keep in mind, the drinks are expensive.

Bacchus Wine Bistro

If you like charcuterie and small plates with wine, check out Bacchus Wine Bistro . While it’s not as unique as some of the other bars, its quaint atmosphere is nice for conversational seating with friends or couples.

For those that enjoy wine, they have an extensive list. I prefer their outdoor seating when it’s available for a carefree hour or two!

See the Historic Neighborhoods of St Petersburg

I’ve often seen Historic Kenwood listed as the most charming neighborhood because of its bungalows designed in the 1920s.

While I enjoy seeing Historic Kenwood, my preferred historic sites include the Historic Old Northeast, Coffee Pot Boulevard NE and Snell Isle.

If you want to see some of the finest houses where local politicians such as Charlie Christ live. Then you’ll want to drive along N. Shore Drive NE to Coffee Pot Boulevard to Snell Isle. This short drive from downtown won’t take you more than an hour roundtrip, so you could possibly fit in Historic Kenwood too!

Watch the Tampa Bay Rowdies Play

If you enjoy soccer, you should watch the St Petersburg squad, the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

This professional soccer team goes under the radar for most people on vacation, but it’s definitely a lot of fun to watch. Check out their schedule for a full list of upcoming games.

Check Out the Beautiful Murals

St. Petersburg, Florida, is also known for the murals you can see all over the city, especially on walls in public places. There is also the Grand Central Arts District, which is filled with murals.

In St. Petersburg, there probably is a daring and magnificent piece of art covering any outdoor surface. The murals that decorate the city’s walls are renowned (in fact, there are more than 150). There is even an annual mural festival called SHINE that takes place in St Petersburg in October and invites artists from all over the world.

Fort De Soto Park

If you’re looking for one of the best things to do in St Petersburg FL, for nature lovers, you have found it.

Fort De Soto Park was built on Mullet Key under the direction of Robert E. Lee. It is now largely known for having some of the best award-winning beaches, boating, fishing, and wildlife, with over 1,100 acres to explore. Make sure to spend some at the picturesque white sand beaches (I especially like North Beach).

There are miles of paved nature trails, camping and picnic spots, two fishing piers, bird watching, ferry rides to Egmont and Shell Keys, and a dog area. Of course, you can’t leave without seeing the historic fort and museum.

Camping at Fort De Soto Park is truly the best way to experience all that this park has to offer. There are a total of 236 campsites with facilities that also include access to electricity, washers and dryers, restrooms, playgrounds, and campsite stores.

You can also bring your dog. Fort De Soto Park has one of the best dog beaches in Florida.

Egmont Key National Wildlife Refuge

Egmont Key State Park is a secluded private island only accessible by boat. Since there’s no admission fee (only transportation cost).

Island Ferry of St Pete Beach is one ferry option, or you can visit through For De Soto Park. Keep in mind, you’ll need to bring your own beach or snorkel equipment.

One of the best ways to see Egmont Key State Park is on a boat tour. They provide the equipment and you can relax and enjoy the island! This 4-Hour Egmont Key Boat Tour provides snorkel equipment, bottled waters, and an indoor cabin with air-conditioning when it gets hot. Plus, they take you by the Sunshine Skyway Bridge for gorgeous photo opportunities.

You can spend time at the white sand beach, go snorkeling or swimming in crystal clear waters, or enjoy the nature trails. The blue-green water is shallow and clear at Egmont Key, so it’s easy to see the beautiful shells and fish swimming around you.

Keep your eyes open for old structures that have since been submerged in the Gulf of Mexico. You can also see (and we often do) manatees, dolphins, and other marine life while snorkeling around this island.

Take a break from snorkeling and see some of Egmont Key by walking the nature trail. The brick paths will lead you to several structures and a lighthouse that are historic ruins of Fort Dade that date back to 1858.

Before you visit, make sure you have good weather. Egmont Key State Park is a distance by boat and you don’t want to be out there in a storm.

Enjoy a Round of Golf in Pinellas County

With gulf coast breezes and sunny weather, a day on the golf course is another one of the fun things to do in St Petersburg FL. Check out our article on the best golf courses in Pinellas County .

If you prefer a miniature golf course, Smugglers Cove has a couple of locations in Tampa Bay. Some even have live alligators and pirate ships!

Weedon Island Preserve

If you’re not yet oversaturated by beaches and parks, Weedon Island Preserve is another beautiful spot in Tampa Bay. With 3,1900 acres of nature trails and green spaces, you have plenty of bird watching opportunities. Plus, you can enjoy a paddling trail with canoe or kayak rentals available to rent.

Weedon Island Preserve offers guided tours which are great for the whole family. One of the most interesting nature hikes is an active archaeological dig site on Weeden Island Preserve. Here you can learn about the early inhabitants of Weedon Island thousands of years ago.

Observation towers are another great way to see wildlife. At Wheedon Island Preserve, their observation tower provides visitors with an excellent view of Tampa Bay and the cities of St Petersburg and Tampa .

Make Time for Day Trips in St Petersburg Area

Tampa Bay really has a boatload of places to see! You’ll definitely want to make time for some day trips. I have an extensive list of favorite places, but here are a few to mention:

Head over the beautiful Sunshine Skyway Bridge to the city of Bradenton, Florida. Before you get there, some people like to stop at the Skyway Fishing Pier State Park for beautiful views of the Gulf of Mexico. The fishing piers are the location of the old bridge which has great fishing, such as Spanish mackerel, tarpon, and sea trout.

In Bradenton, you’ll find a nice laid-back waterfront town with a beautiful riverwalk. One of my favorite science museums, The Bishop Museum of Science & Nature , is located downtown with manatees in their aquarium. Check out my full list of fun things to do in Bradenton .

Clearwater & Clearwater Beach

Beyond the Church of Scientology, Clearwater is famous for the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of suffering marine animals. They provide public education, including dolphin boat tours and conservation efforts in a hands-on experience.

The aquarium gained worldwide recognition for being where the Bottlenose Dolphin, “Winter” lived. Winter was the main character in the 2009 book Winter’s Tale and, more notably, became the 2011 film, Dolphin Tale .

If you love quaint towns on the waterfront, Dun edin has a lot to offer! Some of the best local breweries in Pinellas County are in the charming city. You’ll be impressed by the many restaurants , shops, and the parking is usually free. However, it is a drive from downtown St Petersburg, so you’ll definitely want to plan for being there all day.

Madeira Beach

Come to the land of the pirates! As legend has it, Madeira Beach’s first resident was a pirate which helped shape its unique history.

It is widely known for its 2.5 mile long white sandy beaches and the historical John’s Pass Village. This beautiful shopping district has over 100 unique shops and many restaurants, bars, and watersports equipment available to rent.

John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk has been ranked the #1 attraction in Pinellas County.

If you’re looking for world-class thrill rides, zoos, concerts, and a big-city feel, you can’t miss Tampa . As I mentioned earlier, you’ll definitely want to make time for this fantastic city on your trip itinerary.

Tarpon Springs

Tarpon Springs is a city located on the Gulf of Mexico. Known for its Greek eateries that line the waterfront of Dodecanese Boulevard, it has a rich Greek heritage. In the early 1900s, Greek sponge divers settled here and the town was famous for selling sponges.

Enjoy a leisurely walk to see the Historic Sponge Docks are a reminder of the once booming industry. If you get time for a meal, try Hellas Restaurant (they also have a delicious bakery on the property).

Safety Harbor

Safety Harbor wasn’t one of the first cities in St. Petersburg to attract my attention. However, it’s been one of my more frequent places to visit in the last year. This quaint town is also located on the water with a super laid-back vibe, with local breweries, antique shops, and golf carts replacing cars for locals. While the city is most known for it’s famous healing springs, there’s plenty to do here on a day trip from St Pete.

The singer channeled her 1989 era in a delicate blue Oscar de la Renta dress during the premiere of her Eras Tour movie in Los Angeles on Oct. 11. The "New Romantics" singer accessorized her red carpet look with a dazzling necklace, pale blue eye makeup, her signature red lip along and her 1989-era bob hairstyle (another nod to the release of her re-recorded version of the album out Oct. 27.)

Swift wasn't the only one whose red carpet appearance hit different, as hundreds of fans were at The Grove shopping center for the debut of her concert movie, which opens in theaters Oct. 12—one day earlier than previously announced.

Although Swift has recently been scoring headlines with her NFL outings in support of Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce , he didn't walk the red carpet with the 33-year-old and didn't appear to attend the movie premiere, which took place just one day before his team's home game against the Denver Broncos.

The football player has been clear about trying to protect their budding connection in light of their respective fame in sports and entertainment.

The museum was founded in 1992 by Walter P. Loebenberg, a local businessman and philanthropist. Loebenberg himself escaped Nazi Germany for Florida and then joined the United States Armed Forces to serve in World War II.

The poignant exhibitions include one of the few surviving boxcars which were used by the Nazis to transport Jews and political prisoners to the death camps of Auschwitz and Treblinka. It is now an important nesting site for sea turtles, tortoises and hundreds of thousands of sea birds. 17 – Go fishing at Skyway Fishing Pier State Park

St.Petersburg is home to a very unique and cool fishing spot in the shadow of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge which spans Tampa Bay. When the Sunshine Skyway was built in the mid-1980s, the old bay bridge was left in place and quickly became popular with local anglers.

It is now considered the world’s longest fishing pier and gives fishermen unrestricted access to the deeper bay waters. What’s better still is that you can drive your car right up to your favorite fishing spot, pretty neat!

20 – Take a boat out from Demens Landing Park

Another of the city’s fantastic waterfront green spaces, Demens Landing Park occupies the space which was formerly the city’s first railway pier. It is named after its creator, Peter Demens.

Laying directly on the waterfront between the Central and South Yacht Basins and in close distance to the AI Lang Stadium and Saturday Morning Market, this park is in the most bustling part of the city’s harbor. It has plenty of benches to sit and relax on as well as large green spaces if you want to throw a frisbee around.

If you plan to venture out onto the water while in the city, the park is a good launch point and has a boat ramp that is available for use. There are also picnic benches and public restrooms. This centrally located park is a great place to visit and soak up the atmosphere.

21 – Explore the Gizella Kopsick Palm Arboretum

It’s hard to believe that the lush 2-acre tropical gardens of Gizella Kopsick Palm Arboretum were a mini-golf course not so long ago. This beautiful collection of exotic palms is well worth a visit during your time in the city.

The transformation began in 1976 after a donation of 60 palms of ten different species was gifted by longtime palm admirer, Miss Gizelle Kopsick. The Arboretum was dedicated to Miss Kopsick one year later to celebrate her 100th Birthday.

Over nearly 50 years, the collection has grown to include 150 species of palm and cycads and 500 individual plants. The arboretum is wheelchair accessible and as part of St. Petersburg’s city parks, is free admission.

You’ll never have to go far to find amazing history here, and the Jungle Prada Site is a particularly compelling spot.

24 – Cycle the Pinellas Trail

Whatever your preferred way to explore outdoors, be it jogging, walking, cycling or skating — you are bound to enjoy the Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail. The trail starts in St. Petersburg and runs all the way to Tarpon Springs, covering a distance of 50 miles.

The trail runs through a number of towns on the way including South Pasadena, Palm Harbor and Clearwater. This unique and level passageway used to be the route of the Atlantic Coast Line and Seaboard Air Line Railroads which were abandoned in the 1980s.

25 – Sunbathe at Fort De Soto Park

Pinellas County’s largest public park, Fort De Soto Park covers over 1,100 acres and has a huge amount of things to see and do.

The park is spread out over five islands sitting in the mouth of Tampa Bay and features coastal areas, wetlands, forests and meadows, as well as one of the region’s finest beaches. You’ll find plenty here to explore.

Wildlife lovers can spend the day spotting the wide variety of creatures that live in the area. Since the 1960s, 328 species of bird have been documented in the park. Visitors can hike over six miles of trails that stretch between both coasts and past the historic fort.

The park also has over seven miles of waterfront, almost half of which is blanketed with white sandy beaches, two fishing piers and a canoe trail. With two large swim centers, picnic areas and campgrounds, as well as the Quartermaster Museum, you’ll definitely fall in love with Fort De Soto Park.

The sight of a Walker Bulldog tank may not be the most reassuring thing to see in a park but War Veterans Memorial Park is dedicated to honoring the memory of its Military Veterans.

The park has five dedications, one for each branch of the United States Armed Forces. It also has a battlefield cross monument dedicated to the 18 local members of the armed forces who died in the Gulf War.
