Cool Cruiser

We sail on the Royal Princess, Whittier  to Vancouver, 7 day.  Port stops in Juneau, Icy Strait Point, Ketchikan.  Scenic cruising of Hubbard Glacier and Glacier Bay.

Now, I'm probably not going to frequent the casino, as I am not a smoker, don't like smelling the smoke, or having myself/clothes smell like it.  I however do have the Premier fare package.  So in the event I have the luck to win a Princess prize with OBC, I may put up with it for a short time, to use any OBC.

I'm not sure what else I would spend it on - Im NOT a spa person, more drinks than I will need included in my fare, specialty dining included in my fare, Gratuity included in my fare.  I shouldn't have any extra charges in my folio- all excursions are prepaid, and I have paid cruise on full.  Maybe a round of Bingo, but not multiple times. I'm not a shopper, doubt I'll even be in the shops.  I would rather pick up souvenirs in port.

So when is casino open during a cruise such as mine, as the prizes aren't active if casino isn't open.  Alaska doesn't allow gambling, so not in port, I assume.  It seems we wouldn't be far enough out at sea, except maybe a little while after leaving Whittier, and on the way into Vancouver.

I've only been on one other cruise, and it was Disney, so no casino that time.

Anyone done the above itinerary ? When did the casino operate

Casino is open every evening, approximately an hour or so after sailing. And on sea days. There's a dispensation in Alaskan laws to allow gambling on licensed cruise ships even while in territorial waters.

If you should win some OBC, very easy to go set up an account on a slot machine, load it with the OBC amount, maybe take a spin and cash out. Go to the cashier, and get your winnings.

Don't wait til the last night though, it's often closed early on approach to Vancouver..

Thanks

Won’t be open while cruising Glacier Bay.  I was asked to leave my slot around 1 am one time. Cashier’s cage is also not open all night.

And Victoria. On Crown in 2022, we were in Victoria from 6 pm to midnight on the last full day of the cruise. The casino shut down around 11 am that day and stayed closed for the remainder of the cruise.

If you don’t really want the casino, how about considering the enclave?

In all Canadian ports there is no casino and only one bar per deck is alto be open while in port

Clearly the casino won't be open *in port*.  My point was how far in advance of docking the casino closes and that it doesn't reopen after the late token port call in Victoria or Vancouver, so some people get caught off guard and can't cash out.

Port Canaveral

princess cruise casino hours

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to find Port Canaveral thrilling. This is the home of the Kennedy Space Center, where you can catch a fascinating glimpse into the history - and future - of the U.S. space program. Or, take a leisurely stroll along the Cocoa Beach Pier; the shopping is great and the beach views are truly "out of this world."

Freeport City

princess cruise casino hours

Freeport, the island’s capital city and the second largest city in the islands, is one of the best-known destinations in the Bahamas. The city was specifically designed for the tourist trade, and as a result features terrific duty-free shopping and many attractions to keep visitors entertained and enthralled. The 10-acre International Bazaar in downtown Freeport is divided into sections that represent different parts of the world, each with its own collection of shops and restaurants. You can easily spend a whole day exploring the Bazaar, and when you run out of money, just pay a visit to the Bahamia Casino nearby!. After the sun sets in Freeport, the night comes alive with entertainment and spectacle. Sit back and enjoy a dazzling show at the Casino Royale Theater, Joker’s Wild, or Club Tropicana, or visit one of the many nightclubs where you can catch the sounds of local bands. If you’re feeling lucky, the gaming action at the casinos rolls on virtually non-stop, featuring craps, blackjack, roulette, mini-baccarat, and all of the latest slot machines. There are also lessons for novice gamblers as well as the Sports Book betting facility, where you can place wagers on football, basketball, or hockey games. Later, when you’ve had your fill of partying and playing the odds, you can search out a cozy bar on the beach and watch the moonlight skip across the ocean while you eat conch fritters and toss back Bahama Mamas.

Grand Turk Island is the capital island of the Turks and Caicos archipelago, in the Atlantic Ocean. It’s dotted with the remains of salt ponds and windmills from the island’s sea salt industry, prevalent from the 17th to 20th century. The 19th-century Grand Turk Lighthouse is perched on a rocky bluff in the north. Beaches with clear water ring the island, which is home to wild horses and donkeys.
