New York, NY (May 17, 2023) – Nitro Circus and Round Room Live unveiled the first details of the action sports authorities’ 2023-24 tour. For the Nitro Circus 20th Anniversary Tour presented by PublicSq., the craziest show in live entertainment will bring the party back to indoor arenas for the first time in five years, starting in North America this fall. The tour kicks off October 10, 2023 in Bloomington, IL’s Grossinger Motors Arena. The next ten stops will include Anaheim, Oklahoma City, Tulsa and more, with additional dates to be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets for these first shows will go on sale next month, with fans having the opportunity to get their tickets first, prior to the general public, through a special pre-sale starting Tuesday, June 13th. Register at nitrocircus.com. The full public on-sale will follow on Friday, June 16th.

This tour will electrify live audiences from coast to coast as Nitro Circus runs it back, celebrating two decades of record-breaking thrills, death-defying spills and side-splitting shenanigans. Every night an elite roster of top riders will throw down, led by dual BMX and scooter threat Ryan “R-Willy” Williams, freestyle motocross (FMX) star Jackson “Jacko” Strong, WCMX pioneer Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham, and more. Fans can also look forward to special guest visits from various Nitro legends at every tour stop.

The new production for the 20th Anniversary Tour includes Nitro Circus’ infamous 50-foot Giganta ramp alongside the next generation of FMX kickers and landers. These innovative setups will give athletes the tools to take action sports to new heights as they attempt huge, never-before-done tricks. Nitro’s daredevils will also push the boundaries of sanity revisiting some of the brand’s sketchiest stunts as well as jumping a host of new crazy contraptions.

Nitro Circus Live Is Coming Back to North American Arenas This Fall

Under a new partnership with Round Room Live, the event will launch its 20 th -anniversary tour later this year.

Action sports producer Nitro Circus and Round Room Live today announced a multi-year global partnership that will see the Travis Pastrana -led Nitro Circus Live tour return to North American arenas this fall for the first time in five years — just in time for the brand’s 20th anniversary.

Since 2018, Nitro Circus Live has mostly operated as an outdoor event, held at stadiums and festivals like 2019’s Gnarlytown festival in San Pedro, California. Under the partnership with Round Room, the event will return to indoor venues in North America, including arenas like the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The touring show’s main attraction is the Giganta Ramp, a massive 70-foot portable ramp used to launch motocross, BMX bikes and homemade vehicles like an ironing board on wheels.

“Since 2003, Nitro Circus has stunned fans across the globe with a kinetic mix of boundary-breaking world’s firsts alongside outrageous comedic moments,” a press release announcing the agreement reads. “Nitro Circus has showcased a collection of action sports’ best athletes and biggest stars in packed venues worldwide, including dual BMX and scooter threat Ryan “R-Willy” Williams, pioneering WCMX rider Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham and many more. Now these fun-loving daredevils are back with an electrifying new live show celebrating two decades of pushing the limits, featuring huge never-before-done tricks and a host of new crazy contraptions.”

Round Room Live was founded by industry veterans Stephen Shaw and Jonathan Linden and currently produces Blippi: The Wonderful World Tour, Blippi The Musical, Baby Shark Live!, Peppa Pig Live and more. Last year, Round Room completed a management buyout of its lead investor eOne in a deal backed by Manhattan West, a Los Angeles-based strategic investment firm.

Nitro Circus: Good, Bad & Rad presented by A SHOC is built from the core, driven by unbelievable content and crazy new contraptions that fuel the sketchy, scary and risky dangers of big-air action sports entertainment. LINCOLN SQUARE — Midnight Circus in the Parks will return to Chicago’s parks this September with multiple performances across the city, ending with a grand finale at Welles Park.

Midnight Circus founders Jeff and Julie Jenkins launched their unique brand of acrobatic entertainment in Chicago in 2007. The popular circus features a variety of trapeze artists, tightrope walkers and acrobats, including world-class Cirque du Soleil performers in addition to the couple’s own kids and pets. 

This season kick offs 2 p.m. Sept. 7 at Grand Crossing Park, 7655 S. Ingleside Ave., with an open-air circus. Tickets for this season’s opening event are $5, and prices vary with each performance. They can be bought at this website .

“The first three weekends will be the open-air circus we’ve done for the past few years. But for Welles Park, we’re bringing back the big top for the big finale,” Jeff Jenkins said. “We’re also doing a special Friday night gala Sept. 27 at Welles Park. It’s an extra-special show.”

The gala will feature guests, raffles, giveaways and an exclusive meet-and-greet with the performers.

The gala will also act as a fundraiser for Midnight Circus, “the nonprofit arts organization that has given back almost $2 million to park, advisory councils and community groups,” said Julie Jenkins.

The Midnight Circus will also perform matinee shows for children under the care of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, similar to last year’s tour, Jeff Jenkins said.

“It’s free for them to attend, and it went so well last year that DCFS asked us if we could expand it this year. So we’re doing three special matinees across the city for those families,” he said. 

Last year, Midnight Circus had a shorter tour due to a decrease in Chicago Park District funding . Negotiations between the circus and the park district are ongoing this year.

“We are hopeful that this new model will benefit everyone,” said Jeff Jenkins. “Particularly the communities who missed out on the circus last year.”

Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, and attendees must arrive no later than 15 minutes before showtime. Bleacher seating is available, but attendees can also bring blankets to sit on the ground close to the ring. Children younger than 2 years old are free and don’t require a ticket to attend. 

In the event of inclement weather, performances may be amended or abbreviated.

Lane County Fair 2024: Family fun, local traditions as fair kicks off

The Lane County Fair opened its gates Wednesday for the five-day annual event.

Kids preparing their animals for 4-H competitions made up the fair's earliest activities, which will culminate in an awards ceremony Friday evening and a youth auction on Saturday afternoon.

Sisters Ariana and Everly and mother Jackie prepared to show off Ariana's 1-and-a-half year-old goat Kane Wednesday morning, in what would be Ariana's third year competing with Springfield 4-H.

"She takes care of them all day everyday," Jackie said of Ariana, who's raising three goats. Jackie said Ariana considered selling Kane last year but had a change of heart. "They're kind of like dogs in a lot of ways."

The kids who do auction their animals will do so at 2 p.m. Saturday.

"Members of Lane County 4H and area FFA groups have worked hard over the past many many months on their livestock projects," said spokesperson Liz Gill. "They are learning responsibility for something other than themselves."

Things to know about 2024 Lane County Fair

• Fair hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. through Saturday, and Sunday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• The fair main entrance is located at the intersection of 13th Avenue and Jefferson Street.
• Fairgrounds parking is $5 per car, cash only. Alternate transportation methods include PeaceHealth Rides and Land Transit District bus routes 33, 36, 41 and 43. People dropping off friends or offering rideshare services should drop off fairgoers at the Orange D gate that can be accessed via the 13th and Jefferson streets entrance.
• General admission day tickets are $10 for adults; $7 for seniors, first responders and military; $6 for kids 6-12; and free for kids 5 and under, with some discounts available.
• Single tickets for carnival rides are sold on-site. Visitors can buy packages priced at $60 for 120 tickets and $115 for 250 tickets. Each carnival attraction averages 12-13 tickets per ride.
