However, his marital status serves as a clear indication that he is straight — he has been married to two women so far.

So, While his on-screen personas may have fueled speculation about his personal life, separating an actor’s roles from their real-life identities is essential. His dedication to his art should be celebrated rather than used as a basis for assumptions.

Ewan McGregor has portrayed multiple gay characters over the years

Ewan McGregor has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to portraying diverse characters, including several prominent roles, throughout his career.

One of McGregor’s most notable characters was Curt Wild in the 1998 film  Velvet Goldmine,  directed by Todd Haynes.

In this cult classic, McGregor delivered a captivating performance as a fictionalized version of Iggy Pop, exploring themes of sexuality, identity, and the glam rock scene of the 1970s.

Then, in 2009, he starred opposite Jim Carrey in the dark comedy  I Love You Phillip Morris,  playing the real-life character of Phillip Morris, a con man who fell in love with his cellmate.

His portrayal of Morris’s complex journey of self-discovery and his unwavering pursuit of love showcased his ability to bring depth and nuance to a character that could have easily been reduced to caricature.

More recently, in the 2021 limited series  Halston , he took on the titular role of the iconic fashion designer Roy Halston Frowick, who was openly gay.

His performance captured the designer’s flamboyant persona and his struggles with fame, addiction, and personal relationships, offering a poignant and honest depiction of a trailblazer in the fashion industry.

Additionally, McGregor also portrayed similar character Jerome in the 1996 film  The Pillow Book , further demonstrating his versatility and commitment to representing diverse narratives on screen.

Ewan McGregor defended playing a gay character in ‘Halston’

McGregor’s decision to play the iconic fashion designer Halston, who was openly gay, in the Netflix series  Halston  sparked a discussion about casting and representation in the entertainment industry.

While some argued that gay actors should play gay roles, he defended his choice to take on the part.

He acknowledged the concerns raised by actor Billy Porter, who had previously suggested that straight actors should stop playing gay characters, citing the limited opportunities for LGBTQ+ actors to portray their own lived experiences.

McGregor expressed respect for Porter’s perspective, recognizing that he has not faced the same challenges or discrimination due to his sexuality.

However, he argued that Halston’s sexuality was not the series’ primary focus and that the role was more about portraying the designer’s broader life and career.

He felt comfortable taking on the part because the character’s sexuality was just one aspect of his identity rather than the central narrative.

Ultimately, McGregor’s willingness to engage with the discussion and acknowledge different perspectives emphasizes the importance of considering the specific context of each role rather than adhering to rigid rules that may inadvertently limit artistic expression and representation.

Ewan McGregor got married in the late 90s

In the late 1990s, as McGregor’s career was taking off and he was gaining fame for his roles in films with gay representations, he made a significant personal decision that grounded him amidst the whirlwind of success and the temptations that accompany it.

During those early days of fame, he exuded a self-admitted, confident, almost cocky persona. However, this bravado was balanced by his decision to marry young and start a family.

In 1995, he tied the knot with Eve Mavrakis, a French-Greek production designer he had met while working on a British TV legal drama.

Just five months after the premiere of  Trainspotting  in 1996, McGregor and Mavrakis welcomed their first child, a daughter named Clara. He fondly recalls having Clara in his lap as a baby while promoting  Trainspotting  at the Cannes Film Festival.

This early commitment to building a family life alongside his burgeoning career highlights McGregor’s ability to prioritize and balance his personal and professional aspirations and set his gay rumors to rest.

Ewan McGregor is now married to his second wife

McGregor’s personal life took a significant turn in recent years, leading him to marry his second wife , Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Their relationship blossomed from an on-screen romance to a real-life love story.

In late 2016, McGregor and Winstead met on the set of the FX series  Fargo,  where they were cast as love interests during the show’s third season.

At the time, both were married to their respective spouses – McGregor to his first wife, Mavrakis, and Winstead to her then-husband, Riley Stearns.

However, as their on-screen chemistry translated into a deep connection off-screen, their marriages eventually ended, paving the way for them to pursue a relationship together.

After nearly four years of dating, he and Winstead took a significant step in solidifying their commitment to one another.

In 2021, the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Laurie. This milestone began a new chapter in their lives as a family. In April 2022, McGregor and Winstead exchanged vows, officially becoming husband and wife the following year.

McGregor’s journey to finding love again with Winstead showcases human relationships’ complexities and unpredictable nature. While his first marriage played a significant role in his life and career, his connection with Winstead blossomed organically from their shared passion for their craft.

The decision to remarry and start a new family with Winstead reflects McGregor’s willingness to embrace change and his openness to new experiences, even in the later stages of his life and career.

Who Is Tom Cruise?

Thomas Cruise Mapother IV, better known as Tom Cruise, was born on July 3, 1962, in Syracuse, New York, to Mary and Thomas Mapother. Cruise's mother was an amateur actress and schoolteacher, and his father was an electrical engineer. His family moved around a great deal when Cruise was a child to accommodate his father's career.

Cruise's parents divorced when he was 11, and the children moved with their mother to Louisville, Kentucky, and then to Glen Ridge, New Jersey, after she remarried. Like his mother and three sisters, Cruise suffered from dyslexia, which made academic success difficult for him. He excelled in athletics, however, and considered pursuing a career in professional wrestling until a knee injury sidelined him during high school.

At age 14, Cruise enrolled in a Franciscan seminary with thoughts of becoming a priest, but he left after a year. When he was 16, a teacher encouraged him to participate in the school's production of the musical Guys and Dolls . After Cruise won the lead of Nathan Detroit, he found himself surprisingly at home on the stage, and a career was born.

'Taps,' 'The Outsiders'

Cruise set a 10-year deadline for himself in which to build an acting career. He left school and moved to New York City, struggling through audition after audition before landing an appearance in 1981's Endless Love , starring Brooke Shields. Around this same time, he snagged a small role in the military school drama Taps (1981), co-starring Sean Penn .

His role in Taps was upgraded after director Harold Becker saw Cruise's potential, and his performance caught the attention of a number of critics and filmmakers. In 1983, Cruise appeared in Francis Ford Coppola 's The Outsiders , which also starred Emilio Estevez , Matt Dillon and Rob Lowe —all prominent members of a group of young actors the entertainment press dubbed the "Brat Pack." The film was not well received, but it allowed Cruise to work with an acclaimed director on a high-profile project.

'Risky Business'

His next film, Risky Business (1983), grossed $65 million. It also made Cruise a highly recognizable actor — thanks in no small part to a memorable scene of the young star dancing in his underwear.

In 1986, after a two-year hiatus, the budding actor released the big-budget fantasy film Legend , which did poorly at the box office. That same year, however, Cruise's A-list status was confirmed with the release of Top Gun , which co-starred Kelly McGillis, Anthony Edwards and Meg Ryan . The testosterone-fueled action-romance, set against the backdrop of an elite naval flight school, became the highest-grossing film of 1986.

'The Color of Money,' 'Rain Man' and 'Born on the Fourth of July'

Cruise followed the tremendous success of Top Gun with a string of both critically acclaimed and commercially successful films. He first starred in The Color of Money (1986) with co-star Paul Newman , and then went on to work with Dustin Hoffman on Rain Man (1988). Cruise's next role, as Vietnam veteran Ron Kovic in the biopic Born on the Fourth of July (1989), earned him an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe for Best Actor.

'A Few Good Men,' 'The Firm' and 'Interview with a Vampire'

In 1992, Cruise proved once more that he could hold his own opposite a screen legend when he co-starred with Jack Nicholson in the military courtroom drama A Few Good Men . The film grossed more than $15 million its first weekend and earned Cruise a Golden Globe nomination. He continued to demonstrate his success as a leading man with The Firm (1993) and Interview with a Vampire (1994), which co-starred Brad Pitt.

'Mission: Impossible,' 'Jerry McGuire'

Next, Cruise hit the big screen with two huge hits—the $64 million blockbuster Mission: Impossible (1996), which the star also produced, and the highly acclaimed Jerry McGuire (1996), directed by Cameron Crowe. For the latter, Cruise earned a second Academy Award nomination and Golden Globe for Best Actor.

'Eyes Wide Shut,' 'Magnolia'

Cruise and then-wife Kidman spent much of 1997 and 1998 in England shooting Eyes Wide Shut , an erotic thriller that would be director Stanley Kubrick 's final film. The movie came out in the summer of 1999 to mixed reviews, but that year Cruise enjoyed greater success with the release of Magnolia . His performance as a self-confident sex guru in the ensemble film earned him another Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

'Vanilla Sky,' 'The Last Samurai'

Cruise then starred in the long-awaited smash hit Mission: Impossible 2 in 2000, alongside Anthony Hopkins , Thandie Newton and Ving Rhames. In 2002, he starred in Vanilla Sky , his second collaboration with Crowe, as well as Steven Spielberg 's Minority Report . The following year, Cruise traveled to Australia to shoot the $100 million war epic The Last Samurai, which earned him another Golden Globe nomination.

'War of the Worlds'

Cruise proved he remained a top draw by starring in the Spielberg-directed remake of the science-fiction classic War of the Worlds (2005), which grossed more than $230 million at the box office.

His next effort, Mission: Impossible 3 (2006), also scored well with audiences. However, Cruise was faced with a professional setback in August when Paramount Pictures ended its 14-year relationship with the actor. The company's chairman cited Cruise's erratic behavior and controversial views as the reason for the split, though industry experts noted that Paramount more likely ended the partnership over Cruise's high earnings from the Mission: Impossible franchise.

Cruise quickly rebounded and on November 2, 2006, he announced his new partnership with film executive Paula Wagner and the United Artists film studio. Their first production as a team, the political drama Lions for Lambs (2007), proved a commercial disappointment despite a strong cast that included Meryl Streep and Robert Redford .

'Tropic Thunder'

Taking a break from weighty material, Cruise delighted audiences with his performance in the comedy Tropic Thunder (2008). Despite his relatively small role in a movie that featured Robert Downey Jr. and Ben Stiller , Cruise stood out by obscuring his trademark good looks to play a balding, obese movie studio executive.

'Valkyrie,' 'Rock of Ages'

In December 2008, Cruise released his second project through United Artists. The film, Valkyrie , was a World War II drama about a plot to assassinate German leader Adolf Hitler . Cruise starred as a German army officer who became involved in the conspiracy.

Cruise returned to one of his most popular franchises in 2011 with Mission: Impossible—Ghost Protocol . Breaking into new territory, he then starred in the 2012 musical Rock of Ages . Although Cruise received some positive reviews for his performance as a rock star, the movie failed to attract much of an audience.

'Jack Reacher,' 'Edge of Tomorrow'

Returning to his mainstream action roots, Cruise starred in the 2012 crime drama Jack Reacher , based on a book by Lee Child. He then headlined a pair of science-fiction adventures, Oblivion (2013) and Edge of Tomorrow (2014). Showing no signs of slowing down, the veteran actor in 2015 delivered his usual high-energy performance for the fifth installment of his blockbuster franchise, Mission: Impossible—Rogue Nation .

Latest Movies and Familiar Franchises

In 2016, Cruise reprised the role of Jack Reacher for Never Go Back . He then headlined a reboot of The Mummy (2017), which performed respectably at the box office but was savaged by critics, before earning better reviews later that year for the crime thriller American Made .

2018 brought a return to familiar territory for Cruise, who starred in Mission Impossible —Fallout that summer. Prior to its release, he tweeted a photo to mark day 1 of production on the long-awaited sequel Top Gun: Maverick , scheduled for a June 2020 release.

Scientology and Personal Life

Cruise married actress Mimi Rogers in 1987. It was through Rogers that the actor became a student of Scientology, the religion founded by writer L. Ron Hubbard. Cruise credited the church with curing his dyslexia, and he soon became one of its leading proponents. However, while his spiritual life flourished, his marriage to Rogers ended in 1990. That same year, Cruise made the racecar drama Days of Thunder alongside Kidman. Though the movie was unpopular among critics and fans alike, the two lead actors had real chemistry. On Christmas Eve 1990, after a brief courtship, Cruise and Kidman married in Telluride, Colorado.

Divorce from Kidman

For much of the 1990s, Cruise and Kidman found themselves fiercely defending the happiness and legitimacy of their marriage. They filed two different lawsuits against tabloid publications for stories they considered libelous. In each case, the couple received a published retraction and apology, along with a large monetary settlement which they donated to charity. The couple has two children, Isabella and Connor.

On February 5, 2001, Cruise and Kidman announced their separation after 11 years of marriage. The couple cited the difficulties involved with two acting careers and the amount of time spent apart while working. Following the divorce, Cruise briefly dated his Vanilla Sky co-star Penelope Cruz , followed by a much-publicized relationship with actress Katie Holmes. A month after his ties to Holmes became public, Cruise professed his love for the actress in a now-famous appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, during which he jumped on Winfrey's sofa, shouting "Yes!"

Marriage to Katie Holmes

In June 2005, after a two-month courtship, Cruise proposed to Holmes in a restaurant at the top of the Eiffel tower. In October, they announced that they were expecting their first child together. The hasty proposal and surprise pregnancy quickly became tabloid gossip. But Cruise made even bigger headlines that year as an outspoken advocate for Scientology. He openly criticized former co-star Brooke Shields for using anti-depressants during her recovery from postpartum depression. He also denounced psychiatry and modern medicine, claiming Scientology held the key to true healing. Cruise's statements led to a heated argument with news anchor Matt Lauer on The Today Show in June 2005, for which Cruise later apologized.

In 2006, Cruise and Holmes welcomed daughter Suri into the world. That year, they were married in an Italian castle, with celebrities Will Smith , Jada Pinkett Smith , Jennifer Lopez and Victoria and David Beckham among those in attendance. However, the storybook romance wouldn't last, and in June 2012, the couple announced their separation.

Tom Cruise and David Zaslav

Last February, David Zaslav made his way to CAA’s offices, accompanied by his film-studio chiefs, Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy. The delegation gathered in agent Maha Dakhil’s office, where Kevin Huvane and Joel Lubin were in attendance. Also there was a prized client: Tom Cruise .

Has david zaslav finally found a new flack, warner bros. takes spain, multiple international territories for pedro almodóvar's 'the room next door' with tilda swinton.

The CAA meeting went on for two hours. Cruise is a true veteran when it comes to dealing with Hollywood executives, and he and Zaslav instantly clicked on the importance of keeping movies and theaters alive. By the time the meeting adjourned, it was clear that a deal was going to be done.

It’s notable that Paramount — then spending hundreds of millions on two  Mission: Impossible  installments — was never looped in on the discussion. Cruise doesn’t have any kind of formal deal at the studio, but he’s had a long relationship there through multiple executive regimes. Five of his past seven movies were for Paramount, but some of the bloom seems to be off that rose.

Sources say Cruise was not happy with the way Paramount dealt with him on a number of issues. He had lawyered up in 2021, when the studio announced that Top Gun: Maverick would have a mere 45-day theatrical run (which of course did not happen). The studio also pressed Cruise to approve the making of a television show based on  Mission: Impossible  or  Days of Thunder  for its streamer.

No doubt Cruise also knows that Paramount is a melting ice cube, a company very much in search of a deal, and he might think Warners would be a more secure home base. (While Cruise didn’t have offices on the Paramount lot, he plans to set up shop at Warners.)

“Tensions have gotten higher between Tom and Paramount as relates to budget and collaboration,” says a source with knowledge of the situation. “He doesn’t send script pages, doesn’t let them see dailies. He used to be very responsible on budgets. That changed on  Dead Reckoning .”

At 61, Cruise is still a big international movie star, one of the last of that species. “He’s probably got another 10 or 20 years, maybe not hanging off buildings, but as a movie star,” says an executive who has worked with the star. Cruise appears to think he can still hang off any building he chooses. Rather than returning to making films like  Born on the Fourth of July  or  Lions for Lambs , studio sources say Cruise is intent on launching another big franchise. Sources say the Warner deal includes a greenlight on a yet-to-be-identified project, maybe a thriller or an action movie.

De Luca and Abdy have also hoped to lure Cruise back for a follow-up to the 2014 film  Edge of Tomorrow , which the studio already had in development before they took over. (The well-reviewed picture, which cost $175 million, only grossed a disappointing $370.5 million but developed a cult fan base after its release. McQuarrie said in 2014 that Cruise had an idea for a prequel; director Doug Liman said it would be better than the original.)

Zaslav has stepped on some rakes during his tenure in Hollywood, starting with the infamous dumping of  Batgirl . But he has also dreamed of restoring Warner Bros. to its glory days, and told De Luca and Abdy when he hired them that he wanted to see the biggest stars and directors make a home on the studio lot. How that dream will work in terms of the Cruise deal remains to be seen: Zaslav has worked to slash the company’s heavy debt, while Cruise has a way of prying wallets open. “Good luck to them with Tom,” says an executive who has worked with the star.

But another veteran executive who has dealt with Cruise sees potential value to the deal even before it produces anything beyond an announcement. “Their ability to say, ‘This is the home of Tom Cruise’ — I think they perceive it as a coup,” this person says. “It never hurts to have a very close relationship with the biggest movie star in the world. It does provide cachet. It says, `This is a real place.’”

Tom Cruise: Deadline’s How They Reached The Top

Note, this isn’t an exclusive deal, as Cruise will continue to work with Paramount, where he’s shooting Mission: Impossible 8 , and Universal, where he’s making the $200M shot-in-space movie directed by Doug Liman . Overall, Cruise doesn’t have exclusive deals at any studio. No projects at this point in time are in the works or greenlit, as it’s still early.

“We are thrilled to be working with Tom, an absolute legend in the film industry,” De Luca and Abdy said Tuesday. “Our vision, from day one, has been to rebuild this iconic studio to the heights of its glory days, and, in fact, when we first sat down with David Zaslav to talk about joining the Warner Bros Discovery team, he said to us, ‘We are on a mission to bring Warner Bros back – we have the best resources, storytelling IP, and talent in the business – and we need to bring Tom Cruise back to Warner Bros!’ Today, that becomes a reality and we are one step closer to achieving our ambition. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Tom back to Warner Bros and look forward to bringing more of his genius to life on screen in the years ahead.”

Said Cruise: “I have great respect and admiration for David, Pam, Mike, and the entire team at Warner Bros. Discovery and their commitment to movies, movie fans, and the theatrical experience. I look forward to making great movies together!”

Meet Tom Cruise's three rarely seen children: Suri, Bella and Connor

H e's one of, if not perhaps the most, prolific movie stars in modern Hollywood history, so it's no wonder that everything about Tom Cruise – from his impressive roles to his love life and Scientology in between – is often under the glare of the spotlight.

But when it comes to the perhaps complex relationships between him and his children, the A-lister chooses to keep things more under wraps.

The 61-year-old actor, who rose to stratospheric fame thanks to his early roles as Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell in 1986's Top Gun and as Charlie Babbitt in the 1998 Oscar-winning movie Rain Man , has three children from his previous marriages to fellow actors Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes .

All three of his kids are living quite different lives from one another. Find out more about Tom's three adult children, Bella, Connor and Suri below .

Bella Cruise, 31

Tom Cruise married his second wife, Nicole Kidman, in 1990 after meeting and falling in love on the set of Days of Thunder .

After going through fertility challenges, they decided to adopt and, in 1992, they welcomed their daughter, Bella, into the family.

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise's strict divorce rules for daughter Suri

The stars whose kids have regular jobs: from bruce springsteen's firefighter son to harrison ford's chef son, katie holmes beams with pride as daughter suri cruise drops her estranged father tom's last name at graduation, inside nicole kidman's famous dating history - from tom cruise to keith urban.

Bella, now 31, who goes by "Bella Kidman Cruise," is an artist and graphic designer who creates merchandise with her work and has also displayed her art in galleries and exhibitions.

Her work often features takes on the bright and colorful mixed with dark and surrealist themes, with the bio on her website reading: "Bella has been drawing ever since her wee hands could pick up a pen.

"Since that point in time, she's been evolving in her arts. Her go-to medium was pen and paper for most of her life.

"However, she is now venturing into other formats and mediums. Including digital. Which has been a bit of a game-changer in her opinion. We hope you dig it."

She resides in London with her husband Max Parker while maintaining a pretty low-key lifestyle, occasionally sharing personal posts on Instagram.

Connor Cruise, 29

Shortly after adopting Bella, Nicole and Tom adopted Connor who, like his older sister, is creative and even tried his hand at acting, following in his parents' footsteps. In 2008, he gained a credit in the film Seven Pounds  and in 2012 he appeared in  Red Dawn.

However, in recent times, he's stepped away from the spotlight and launched his own business, Connor's Meat Shack. Though he does often make public appearances for example at Fashion Week earlier this year.

As the children grew up and after Tom and Nicole's divorce in 2001, there were reports that the children had, like their dad, joined the church of scientology. This then fuelled reports that Bella and Connor had a more strained and distant relationship with their mother, Nicole, who does not identify as a Scientologist.

However, in recent times, Nicole has emphasized her loyalty to her children and dispelled rumours of a falling out.

In a candid interview with Who in 2018, Nicole expressed her philosophy of tolerance and open-heartedness: "I am an example of that tolerance and that’s what I believe – that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here."

She also told the Sun the following year: "Motherhood is about the journey. There are going to be incredible peaks and valleys, whether you are an adopting mother or a birth mother. What a child needs is love.

"They have made choices to be Scientologists. It’s our job as a parent to always offer unconditional love."

Tom's relationship with his older children

Last month, fans got an insight into Tom's relationship with his two older children as he was pictured with Connor and Bella at a hockey game. In a rare outing together, the three were seen, among others, smiling for the camera after watching the game.

The photo was shared by former NFL star Derrick Brooks who wrote: "Wow, look who stopped by my office before our [Tampa Bay Lightning] game tonight! @tomcruise." Both Connor and Bella were pictured in the photo, proving they still enjoy quality time with their dad.

Suri Cruise is Tom's youngest and only child whom he shares with ex-wife Katie Holmes . The pair welcomed their daughter in June 2006 and, up until their divorce, were pictured multiple times as a family unit.

Tom and Katie split in 2012 with Katie filing the divorce papers, with reports at the time suggesting that Katie wanted to remove herself and Suri from the church of Scientology.

Since their split, Tom has had a reportedly estranged relationship with his daughter, Suri, now 18 , and the movie star was not present at her recent graduation ceremony in New York.

What's more, photos from inside the ceremony at her high school indicate that Suri had dropped her last name, instead being listed as Suri Noelle.

Katie and her daughter are a tight-knit unit and live together in NYC.

Tom Cruise and Mimi Rogers's Relationship Timeline: A Look Back

Tom Cruise and Mimi Rogers met in 1985 before tying the knot in 1987.

ICYMI — or are just having a hard time remembering — Oscar-nominated actor Tom Cruise and actress Mimi Rogers dated in Cruise's  post-Cher  and pre- Nicole Kidman  days. The pair met in 1985 — although how, exactly, is up for debate — and married in 1987, marking a first for Cruise and the second marriage for Rogers. The pair later finalized their divorce in 1990.

During the course of their relationship, the  Risky Business  star and  The Rapture  starlet spoke highly of each other when giving interviews and confidently stepped out in public as each other's arm candy (not everyone can pull off T-shirts tucked into Bermuda shorts with ease). However, as with any couple, Cruise and Rogers had their ups and downs. Throw in the pressures of Hollywood, and it would eventually prove all too much for the actors.

Here's a look back at Tom Cruise and Mimi Rogers's relationship.

1985: Tom Cruise and Mimi Rogers first meet

In 1986, Cruise, then 23,  told  Rolling Stone  he'd met Rogers, then 29, "at a dinner party about a year ago" when he was developing the original  Top Gun .  However, the courtship wasn't  quite  as simple as a young Cruise introducing himself and asking to date Rogers. The actor said Rogers "was dating a friend" at the time.

"I thought she was extremely bright," Cruise recalled to the publication.

Rogers remembered things differently,  telling  Sun Sentinel   that she and Cruise had been introduced by mutual friends.

"I wasn't seeing anybody, he wasn't seeing anybody, and they thought, 'These people should be going out with somebody — let's see if they want to go out with each other,'" Rogers told the newspaper. "And we said, 'Aw, what the heck. OK.'"

May 9, 1987: Tom Cruise and Mimi Rogers get married

The idea of marriage was introduced quickly, but given the magnitude of Cruise's stardom following the success of the blockbuster Top Gun  , the couple referred to their wedding by an ominous title: "The Project." Rogers, a second-generation Scientologist herself, is believed to have been one of Cruise's first links to the polarizing belief system.

In May 1987, Cruise and Rogers executed their, uh, project and tied the knot,  according to  People .  The Mighty Ducks  actor Emilio Estevez was Cruise's best man at the "very small, intimate and beautiful" event. Interestingly, nearly one year before Cruise and Rogers wed, he told  Rolling Stone,  "I don't know if I could get married."

Rogers spoke fondly of Cruise in their years together. "There's a lot of contentment and security (in marriage)," she  told  Chicago Tribune  in 1988. "I highly recommend it.''

December 9, 1989: Tom Cruise files for divorce from Mimi Rogers

According to Andrew Morton's  Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography , the actor filed for divorce on Dec. 9, 1989. Production on  Days of Thunder  (starring Cruise and his future wife, Kidman) began just two days later. In 1995, Cruise  described to  Vanity Fair  his reaction to meeting Kidman as "instant lust."

Morton cited a statement made by Cruise and Rogers to address the announcement of their split in January 1990: "While there have been positive aspects to our marriage, there were some issues which could not be resolved even after working on them for a period of time."

Ironically, just days before news of Cruise and Rogers's split broke, the  Rain Man  star insisted that (despite tabloid conjecture) he "couldn't imagine being without" his then-wife. "Since I've been with her, it's opened me up a lot," he  revealed to  Rolling Stone  in 1990. "I think it's helped me be a better actor. We live a lot of life together. We share everything. That's the best thing about life. Otherwise, you go through it pretty sad and lonely and angry." At the risk of laying it on too thick, Cruise added, "I care about my wife more than anything in the world. She's my best friend. I just really like being with her, you know? I love her."

February 1990: Tom Cruise and Mimi Rogers finalize divorce

After finalizing his divorce from Rogers in February 1990, Cruise and Kidman reportedly wed in December. The actor  told Barbara Walters  in 1992 that he and his ex hadn't spoken "in a couple of years," though he did "wish her well."

In 1993, the  Bosch  star spoke to  Playboy ,  per E! Online , and made some interesting comments about her ex. "Here's the real story," she reportedly told the publication. "Tom was seriously thinking of becoming a monk. At least for that period of time, it looked as though marriage wouldn't fit into his overall spiritual need. And he thought he had to be celibate to maintain the purity of his instrument." She also mentioned that her own instrument "needed tuning."

Rogers was candid about the trouble of being married to one of the most famous men in the world.

"You cease to be an individual," she  told  People  in 1995. "No matter what the article is, it's 'Tom Cruise's wife ...'" Rogers added that she was waiting for the moment when she didn't "have to talk about that [blankety-blank] name anymore."

Though, in 2001, she  explained to  The Telegraph  that "stardom wasn't really a problem" in their marriage. "What did annoy me was the age thing," she added. "Every six months, [the press] seemed to add another year to my age. If we were still married, the press would have me in my 60s by now."

Tom Cruise’s Kids: Everything to Know About His Mysterious Relationships With Connor, Isabella & Suri

Tom Cruise may be the biggest movie star, but he's also a family man! We've got all the details on Tom Cruise's relationships with his son Connor and daughters Isabella and Suri.

tom cruise and brothers

Tom Cruise is an iconic actor, but more importantly, he’s a father. The Top Gun star, who has been married three times , shares two adopted kids — Connor Cruise  and Isabella ‘Bella’ Cruise  — with his ex-wife, Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman . He also has one biological child, a daughter named Suri  with his other ex-wife, Katie Holmes .

Tom lives an extremely private life, despite being a major movie star. While he may hit the occasional red carpet if he has a movie premiering, the actor is rarely photographed anywhere else, or with his kids. Though, he does have a relationship with all three. Tom was most recently seen in a photo in December 2023 with his and Nicole’s children, Connor and Bella, after athlete Derrick Brooks shared a group shot to Instagram .

Tom Cruise & his kids

Tom and Nicole adopted Connor and Isabella during their decade-long marriage in the ’90s. Isabella, who was born on December 22, 1992, took a page out of her father’s book by adopting a lifestyle away from the spotlight, however, she recently resurfaced on her Instagram  with a selfie on August 25, and fans went wild. The new photo came four months after she last shared a photo of her face online, so her followers were elated to see her sharing a new picture of herself.

The London-based artist owns a company with the title of her namesake, “Bella Kidman Cruise,” which sells phone cases, tote bags, and more. As far as her personal life is concerned, Bella married Max Parker , an IT consultant, in an intimate ceremony in London in September of 2015. Neither Bella’s nor Max’s parents attended, which led to speculation that she was estranged from her parents. Though, that was later proven not to be the case .

“Of course [we talk], they’re my parents. Anyone who says otherwise is full of sh-t,” Isabella told Daily Mail in March of 2016. When asked if it was hard not to have Tom walk Isabella down the aisle to give her away, Max admitted, “Yeah. It is what it is.” Isabella also has a good relationship with her mother, whose last name is included in her company’s name. And, she’s close with her brother, Connor, which is evidenced by various social media posts.

Isabella caused a slight stir in July 2021 when she and brother Connor both posted a selfie – a rare thing from these private kids – on the same day. Bella’s selfie was taken during the Euro Championship when England took on Denmark. “My face during extra time. Fingers crossed,” she captioned the shot. It clearly worked, as England prevailed. Earlier in the year, Bella posted another selfie – a black and white photo advertising prints in her shop. When Isabella shared a snap in September 2021 , fans thought she looked amazing.

Connor Cruise

Tom & Connor Cruise

Just like his sister, Connor, who was born on January 17, 1995, also enjoys living a private life. Though, he was very much in the spotlight in the past. Connor briefly followed in his parents’ footsteps and starred in two films — 2008’s Seven Pounds and 2012’s Red Dawn remake. The well-accomplished DJ eventually pursued his passion for deep-sea fishing, though, and now spends a lot of time in Clearwater, Florida, as seen on his Instagram page. Connor is very close with his sister, which was further proven by a cute throwback photo he shared to his Instagram in August 2019.

Connor appears to be quite close with his dad, too, as the two were most recently spotted together in October 2019. The father and son bonded over the actor’s love for helicopters, according to People — which reported that Tom took Connor on a chopper in London to show him “some aviation basics.” In 2012, Connor tweeted a black and white baby photo of himself, along with Isabella, in the arms of Tom.

While on a fishing trip in Costa Rica in February 2021, Connor showed off a catch that was almost bigger than him. “ Yellowfin were chewing today ,” he captioned the shot. He became an “ influencer ” in March of that year, launching the @connorsmeatshack IG account with his friend, Kim Joyce . The BBQ-themed account featured Connor’s love of grilling, and the man knows his way around a “rolled cap of ribeye and some lobstah tails,” as he put it . When the summer months rolled around, Connor decided to shave off his hair. “ New face, who dis? ” he captioned a June 8 IG story.

While on an August 2022 fishing trip with friends, Connor showed off his catch – a massive fish he hauled in from the ocean. In his most recent post, Connor revealed that he and his fishing buddies donated a large portion of their catch — “108 pounds of grouper” to be exact — to a charity. “I know it was tough to fit that in the truck but glad the fish was able to go and help those in need of it!!,” he wrote. Overall, Connor is enjoying a life of fishing, grilling, and living in the great outdoors.

Suri Cruise

Tom & Suri Cruise

Following his 2001 divorce from Nicole, Tom went on to marry Katie Holmes in 2006. They welcomed their only biological child, a daughter named Suri, that same year on April 18. Suri made her magazine debut on the October 2006 cover of Vanity Fair with her then-married parents. The accompanying photoshoot showed the family smiling while cuddled up together. Unfortunately, the trio didn’t have a happily ever after. Tom and Katie eventually divorced in 2012, and the actor has rarely been seen out with his daughter since the split. Believe it or not, one of their last photographs together was at Disneyland on January 25, 2012.

Tom’s relationship with Suri is a tumultuous one , multiple sources have expressed to  Hollywood Life . “As challenging as things have become for him and his daughter, he still loves her,” an insider told us in April 2019. “Tom never intended to be estranged from his daughter when he decided to have a family with Katie, and he looks forward to repairing their relationship one day,” the source said. Tom and Katie have never spoken publicly about his estranged relationship with Suri. And it’s unclear when the actor and his now teenage daughter last saw one another. Suri resides with her mother in New York City, where she attends school.

While Tom and Suri’s relationship has remained strained, she has continued to have a positive connection with her mother. Suri and Katie are often seen together on the streets of New York City. Suri turned 18 in 2024.

Tom Cruise Steps Out With His and Nicole Kidman’s Son Connor for Rare Outing in London

Tom cruise and his 29-year-old son connor—who he shares with ex nicole kidman—enjoyed a family helicopter ride in london..

Tom Cruise 's latest mission? A helicopter ride with his son.

The Mission: Impossible star and Connor Cruise touched down at a heliport in London on June 28.

For their father-son outing, Tom donned a gray T-shirt, blue jeans and a pair of his signature aviator sunglasses. Meanwhile, his 29-year-old—who he and ex Nicole Kidman share along with daughter Isabella Cruise , 31—also kept things casual in a black hoodie, slate-colored joggers and a matching baseball cap that read "Pelican Golf Club."

The sighting comes just days after Tom hit up Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour concert at Wembley Stadium. On June 22, the Top Gun actor was seen dancing with a slew of celeb guests —including Liam Hemsworth , Mila Kunis , Ashton Kutcher , Greta Gerwig and Taylor's boyfriend Travis Kelce —inside the VIP tent at the sold-out show.

That same week, Tom and Katie Holmes ' 18-year-old daughter Suri Cruise graduated from high school in New York City.

Though Tom was not seen at the graduation ceremony, his ex-wife Katie was there to commemorate their child's academic milestone.

And in recent years, Katie—who divorced Tom in 2012 —has been adamant on keeping Suri out of the spotlight after she was "so visible at a young age."

"I really like to protect her," the Dawson's Creek  alum told Glamour  last year . "I'm very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She's an incredible person."

Though Suri did lend her vocals to the films Alone Together and Rare Objects , the 45-year-old noted that "both of those experiences came out of the same sense of what I love about our industry, which is, you have these projects and you become a family with people."

"It was very meaningful to me to have her there," Katie added, "because she's my heart."

For a complete guide to Tom’s family, keep reading.

Marriage to Nicole Kidman

Tom Cruise was in the process of divorcing first wife Mimi Rogers   when he met Nicole Kidman   making the racing movie  Days of Thunder  in early 1990. He proposed to the Australian actress once he was officially single and they tied the knot that year on Christmas Eve.

"It was that special connection when you recognize your soul mate," Tom told Vanity Fair   in 1994. "She is a person who understands. It was as if a whole new life had started for me."

They announced their divorce in February 2001 with a press release citing the "difficulties inherent of diverging careers which constantly keep them apart." Though it's unclear if Nicole agreed with that rationale.

"I'm starting to understand now [why we broke up]," she told  Vanity Fair  toward the end of 2002. "At the time I didn't."

Her ex, meanwhile, had told the publication earlier that year, "She knows why, and I know why. She's the mother of my children, and I wish her well. And I think that you just move on. And I don't say that lightly. I don't say that with anything."

Isabella Cruise

Tom and Nicole adopted their eldest child, Isabella , when she was born on Dec. 22, 1992.

Admittedly "scared to death" the first time he changed a diaper, Tom told  VF  in 1994 that he and Nicole "talked about children from time to time, but there was always the work. But then we went, When is it ever going to be the right time? That's how the conversation started. You're lying in bed at night and you're trying to sleep, so you roll over and you go, What would happen if we had this in our life?... One of the things that Nic and I talk about is that now suddenly we're a family ."

Nicole said they definitely planned on having more kids, whether by birth or adoption, preferably both.

"Isabella was meant for us," she told the magazine. "I think when things come into your life at a certain time you have to take them. It's destiny."

She later revealed to  VF  in 2007 that they decided to adopt after she lost a pregnancy. "From the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies," she said. "And we lost a baby early on, so that was really very traumatic. And that's when we would adopt Bella."

"There's a complicated background to that," she added, "given that I never speak much about many things. One day maybe that story will be told."

Isabella, an artist and graduate of London's Delamar Academy of Make-Up and Hair, lives in England with husband  Max Parker .

It raised a few eyebrows when the bride's parents didn't attend the couple's 2015 wedding at the Dorchester hotel in London.

"Of course, they're my parents," she fired back at Daily Mail Online when the newlywed was asked if she spoke to Tom and Nicole. "Anyone who says otherwise is full of s--t."

Moreover, only a few close friends attended and the groom's parents weren't there, either, his mom Beverly Parker telling the Mail they stayed away to avoid "a media circus." Calling the pair "lovely," she said, "I'm very pleased for them both and they're very happy."

Max told the publication that "you could say" his wife had foregone the spotlight, but it was "more of a weird situation for everyone else" than it was for them.

Meanwhile, sources told  People that Tom approved of Max, was OK with not being there and he paid for the wedding, while Nicole was just glad her daughter seemed happy.

Connor Cruise

Connor rounded out the family when he was adopted at birth on Jan. 17, 1995. He's a musician and DJ, and reportedly lives in Miami.

Nicole married Keith Urban  in 2006 and they share daughters Sunday Rose , born July 7, 2008, and Faith Margaret , born via gestational surrogate Dec. 28, 2010.

Reflecting on how Connor and Isabella chose to live with their dad after the divorce, she told HELLO! , "I'd love them to live with us, but what can you do?" (They did attend the Kidman-Urban nuptials in Australia.)

Talking to Now to Love in 2014, Nicole called Isabella and Connor "generous, kind and hardworking," all "traits that I love to see in my children."

Several years later she acknowledged that both of her older kids were practicing Scientologists, like their father, but—contrary to rumors that religion had driven a wedge between them—that was neither here nor there.

"They are adults," the Oscar winner told Australia's  Who   in 2018. "They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it's my job to love them."

And, like his sister, Connor has never said a cross word about his mom.

"I love my mum," he told Australia's Woman's Day  in 2014 while in town to deejay at a festival. "I don't care what people say, I know that me and mum are solid. I love her a lot. My family means everything."

He also loved music, he added, "but the family comes before everything else."

Marriage to Katie Holmes

Tom was in a sharing mood when he started dating the  Dawson's Creek  alum in 2005, boisterously telling Oprah Winfrey   and her sofa that he was in love with the actress.

"Here's the thing, you can't think about it in terms of what people are going to do or say," he told MTV News that June of the PR perils of wearing his heart on his sleeve. "It's 'I want to share my life with this woman. This woman is exceptional, she's special, she's extraordinary and I have great respect for her.' It's someone who's saying 'I've got nothing to hide, I'm happy.' I'm happy, man!"

The Top Gun star proposed atop the Eiffel Tower in June 2005, reportedly within eight weeks of their first date.

Their lavish Nov. 18, 2006, nuptials were held at the 15th-century Odescalchi Castle in Bracciano, Italy. Suri, Connor and Bella were in attendance, along with the likes of the Beckhams, Jennifer Lopez  and then-husband Marc Anthony , Will Smith  and Jada Pinkett Smith , and Brooke Shields  and spouse  Chris Henchy .

Suri Cruise

Tom and Katie's daughter was born April 18, 2006.

The  October 2006 cover of  Vanity Fair , first revealed on the CBS Evening News  Sept. 5, introduced Suri to the world. The portrait by Annie Leibovitz featured the 3-month-old tucked into her dad's leather aviator jacket, an homage to Linda McCartney 's famous shot of  Paul McCartney with their baby daughter Mary  from his 1970 album  McCartney .

"She's a glorious girl," Katie told the magazine. "She's the miracle of our life."

Tom shared that they found the name in a baby book sent to them by friends and just loved it. "We later found out that it meant 'red rose,' and that was just a bonus," he added. "Suri—it was perfect."

The article noted that the family, including Conor and Bella, were all gathered cozily at Tom's house in Telluride (which he sold in 2021 for $39.5 million).

"It's really special to see them holding their little sister," Katie said. "To hear them talk about all of the fun things they are going to do together." Added Tom, "It's very moving to me too. I look at those moments of watching Bella and Connor grow up and you get a sense of what kind of people they are going to be as adults."

Katie filed for divorce in June 2012, her attorney saying in a statement her "primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest."

Tom's rep told E! News that he "is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children."

The proceedings were settled relatively quickly , with both sides agreeing on Suri living primarily with her mom  while her dad got generous visitation rights. Katie started splitting time between New York and L.A. and resettled Suri on the East Coast for school.

The  Batman Begins  actress set about giving her kid the most normal life possible, ferrying her to school and gymnastics like any other Manhattan mom. While the paparazzi never stopped clicking away, Katie shared only a handful of glimpses of Suri on social media over the years. But they also were seen at sporting events and have made many a pilgrimage to Broadway  to catch a show.

"My child is the most important person to me, and her upbringing is paramount to my work right now," she told Town & Country  in 2017 . "It's very important that I'm present and she has a stable, innocent childhood. I feel so blessed to do what I do, but there's nothing in the world better than watching your child succeed."

At the same time, she said, "Every day, kids get a little further away from you. That's a positive thing. They should be becoming more independent, but it's heartbreaking."

Suri may not have caught the acting bug yet, but she did sing the cover of "Blue Moon" that opens Alone Together , the rom-com her mom was inspired to write during the pandemic and then also starred in and directed. Suri also provided a vocal for her movie  Rare Objects .

"I hope she always does something on my films," Katie told Glamour  in March 2023. "I always ask her. But both of those experiences came out of the same sense of what I love about our industry, which is, you have these projects and you become a family with people. And it's this safe, beautiful, creative space."

With Suri about to turn 17 at the time, she noted, "What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her. I'm very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She's an incredible person."

It’s not “mission impossible” for him to see at least one of his kids.

Tom Cruise was seen deplaning a helicopter alongside his son, Connor Cruise, in central London Friday — a week after skipping his youngest child Suri Cruise’s high school graduation .

Paparazzi snapped the action movie star, 61, wearing a short-sleeved, gray shirt that showcased his muscular arms and a pair of jeans as he grinned from ear to ear while leaving the heliport.

Connor, 29, meanwhile, was dressed comfortably in a black hoodie, gray slacks, sneakers, a matching cap and a pair of shades. The expression on his face, unlike his dad, was serious and calm.

Per eyewitnesses, the father-son duo were joined by a few other unnamed guests during the aerial outing.

Tom’s sighting with Connor comes as he faces backlash for missing a milestone celebration in Suri’s life.

A day after missing the 18-year-old’s graduation from LaGuardia High School, the “Mission Impossible” star chose to party with Swifties and celebs at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in London last Saturday.

Tom was spotted laughing and schmoozing with the pop superstar’s boyfriend , Travis Kelce, in the VIP tent and exchanging friendship bracelets across the pond.

Meanwhile, Suri rang in her commencement ceremony with mom Katie Holmes and fellow students.

It’s not surprising Tom didn’t make it to his daughter’s big day, though, as they’ve been estranged for years .

In March 2023, a source exclusively confirmed to Page Six that the “Top Gun” star has “no part” in the teen’s life, which he previously admitted in a deposition lawsuit was due to his  ties to Scientology .

When Holmes, 45, called it quits with Tom in 2011, she and Suri no longer had any part in the controversial church, which reportedly does not allow its members to associate with nonbelievers.

However, because Connor — who is Tom’s adopted son with ex-wife Nicole Kidman — is still a Scientologist, he is still able to spend quality time with his famous father.

In November 2018, Kidman, 57, opened up about Connor and his sister Bella Cruise’s decision to remain part of the Church of Scientology.

“They are adults. They are able to make their own decisions,” the “Moulin Rouge” star told Australian magazine Who at the time.

“They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them. And I am an example of that tolerance and that’s what I believe – that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here.”

Kidman — who is now married to Keith Urban — divorced Tom in 2001.

Tom Cruise in London with son Connor

Tom Cruise enjoyed a family day out as he was joined by his son, Connor, while in London .

The 61-year-old is currently in the UK while filming the upcoming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning sequel .

New pictures have emerged showing the action icon heading out with the budding actor, 29, who he shares with ex-wife Nicole Kidman .

They were seen making the most of the summer sunshine by taking in a sightseeing flight over London, before returning to a heliport in Battersea.

Tom – who is also dad to Bella with Nicole, and Suri Cruise with third wife Katie Holmes – was clearly delighted at having company.

He grinned widely while safely seated at the front of the chopper, opting for a white polo shirt and dark blue jeans for the outing, paired with sparkling white trainers.

Connor got the casual memo in a black T-shirt and grey trousers, finishing off the look with a grey baseball cap, trainers and chunky sunglasses.

Tom has kept his bond with his children firmly behind closed doors in recent years, and they have rarely been pictured together.

Tom first met Nicole while filming 1990 flick Days of Thunder, and they walked down the aisle at the end of that year – before splitting in February, 2001.

They started their family by adopting Isabella in 1992, before adding to their brood with Connor three years later.

Tom previously opened up to Esquire about becoming a dad for the first time, and feeling an ‘immediate bond’ with Bella.

‘I remember that first night, just staring at Bella. I was checking her every second, just looking at her, feeling that immediate bond,’ he told the outlet in 2010. ‘I was probably looking at her so much that I was keeping her up.

‘I made a promise to her: All I can do is the best I can. But I’m not going to say I’m going to do something and then not do it.

‘If I tell you we’re going to have ice cream on Friday night, we’re going to have ice cream on Friday night.

Tom Cruise

‘If I say I’m going to take your call anytime you need me, and I’m in the middle of something on the set, my world is going to stop for you. I made that promise to all of my kids.’

Despite having superstars for parents, Connor and Bella have remained mostly out of the spotlight – the latter has started her own fashion line and has been highly praised for her artwork.

Connor previously followed Nicole and Tom into Hollywood with roles in Seven Pounds with Will Smith, in 2008, and once again in Red Dawn in 2012.

Travis Kelce watches Eras Tour in London with Tom Cruise, Hugh Grant, other A-Listers

The kansas city tight end was seen in the vip tent with his brother and several high level actors..

tom cruise and brothers

The guy on the Chiefs is back for night two of Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour in London and sharing a VIP tent with a handful of A-List celebrities.

The Eras Tour singer hard launched her relationship with Travis Kelce , after dating him for almost a year, by posting the very first Instagram photo of the two with Prince William and his two children . Prince William enjoyed his 42nd birthday from a balcony suite overlooking the right side of the stage, at one point shimmying during "Shake It Off."

On night two, Travis sported a backwards USA Olympics cap. The same hat he wore on night one, pairing it with an off-white, short-sleeved button up.

Jason Kelce collected friendship bracelets and posed for photos with his wife Kylie outside of Wembley Stadium. Dressed in a white and marigold vintage bowling shirt, the former NFL center told one fan his favorite era was 1989.

The VIP tent on the floor housed some top talent including actors Tom Cruise, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Liam Hemsworth, Hugh Grant and director Greta Gerwig.

Travis Kelce supports Swift by attending multiple shows

On Friday, Travis attended the three plus hour show with Jason and Kylie. Their VIP tent included "Bridgerton" actress Nicola Coughlan, Queer Eye personality Jonathan van Ness and actress Cara Delevingne.

The tight end has attended the tour seven times visiting stops in Argentina , Australia,  Singapore , France and England. Every time number 87 is in the audience, the singer changes her lyrics in “Karma” to "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me." For the 2023-2024 season, Swift attended 13 NFL games to support the tight end , culminating in Super Bowl 58.

Swift has one more show in London before heading to Dublin, Ireland.

Travis Kelce Joins His Brother and Taylor Swift’s Parents at Her First London Eras Tour Show

Travis and his girlfriend’s first big day together after a month apart is a family affair.

preview for Taylor Swift’s Iconic Career Evolution

The Kansas City Chiefs player was photographed by fans arriving at Swift’s first London Eras Tour show in Wembley Stadium this evening. His brother, Jason Kelce, and Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, were there , along with his close friend Ross Travis. Notably, Travis entered with Swift’s dad, Scott. Her mother, Andrea, was seen in the crowd as well.

No photos of Travis reuniting with Swift have come out yet, but they usually have a moment that fans are able to catch at the end of her shows.

Travis, Kylie, and Jason had been in Cannes, France, for the Kelce brothers’ talk during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Swift didn’t join them , in part due to the security her presence would require at the event.

While Swift and Travis were last physically together during their mid-May Lake Como, Italy trip , a source told Entertainment Tonight last week that the couple remains very serious even after a month physically apart.

“Taylor and Travis make sure that the current long-distance aspect of their relationship doesn’t last very long,” the insider said. “They both move their schedules around if it’s feasible and try to carve out as much time as they can to see each other, as well as each other’s families and friends.”

“They prioritize each other and do anything and everything to make each other happy,” the source added. “Their relationship is genuine, and they both want to make it work, so it does.”

Tom Cruise Dances and Grins at Taylor Swift Eras Tour Show in London

By Eve Batey

Tom Cruise

It seemed impossible to top the star power at Friday’s Taylor Swift show at Wembley Stadium, but that was before Tom Cruise —Mr. Impossible , himself—showed up on Saturday at the second London stop in the billionaire singer’s Eras Tour. And Cruise wasn’t the only big name at Saturday’s Swift show, as Hugh Grant , Princess Olivia of Greece , Greta Gerwig , and a number of other stars packed the stadium’s VIP area as Swift sang—and threw shade—from the stage.

Cruise has reportedly lived in London since 2021, making his presence at this show (as opposed to one in, say, LA or New York) less brow-raising than it might otherwise be. And yet, it still feels surprising (did you know he was a Swiftie? I sure didn’t!) that he was there , and that he arrived—as numerous users of social media noted—with a Swift fans' now-familiar handful of DIY friendship bracelets that he traded with his fellow VIPers. Did Tom Cruise make his own friendship bracelets for this thing? Wouldn’t it be wild if he did? ( Vanity Fair reached out to a Cruise representative for more information on his Swift interest, but has not received a response as of publication time.)

Taylor Swift performs onstage during “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour” at Wembley Stadium on June 22, 2024, in London, England, UK.

The 61-year-old star was seemingly good-natured even when a huge man in the tent grabbed him by the shoulders and started shaking him about, as was captured in footage shared by fans . It helps, perhaps, that the big guy was Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce , who is also known as Swift’s boyfriend and/or the guy the royal family didn’t want a selfie with the night before.

Actor Hugh Grant, who was also at Saturday’s show, was similarly struck by Kelce’s size and charm. Via X (formerly Twitter), the 63-year-old Grant wrote of his Saturday night concert experience, “Dear @taylorswift13, You have an incredible show, an amazing and v hospitable team and excellent if gigantic boyfriend (#tequilashots.). Thanks so much from one ageing London boy, wife and thrilled 8 year old #halfgirlhalfbracelet." It's a tweet that leaves this correspondent wondering what seemed less likely likely a decade ago: the star of Eyes Wide Shut playing with beaded bracelets, or the star of Four Weddings and a Funeral using hashtags?

Other luminaries at the show included Barbie director Greta Gerwig, who danced shoulder-to-shoulder with Cruise and Kelce; Danny Masterson apologists Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher ; and YA dystopia poster boys Liam Hemsworth and Theo James , among many others.

But the drama wasn’t just in the VIP tent, as Swift went a bit off script to celebrate the crowd, as well as slam her enemies, footage posted to social media shows . As she transitioned into the acoustic portion of her set, Swift said, “I was thinking about getting to play Wembley Stadium. That’s not remotely normal [and] it is so insane for you to [have] done that for me … and for my crew because we get to play Wembley Stadium eight times this summer,” she said, a reference to the Era Tour’s return to England in August.

“You clearly thought this was a good idea [and] you wanted this to happen. Blows me away. I’ll spend forever trying to thank you for that.”

“On the other hand,” Swift continued, “it really makes me think about how every time someone talks shit, it just makes me work even harder and it makes me even tougher. So, it also makes me incredibly thankful for those people.” Swift then launched into “thanK you aIMee,” a song from The Tortured Poets Department widely believed to be a dig at Kim Kardashian , a Swift nemesis since 2006 .

Swift has one more show at Wembley Stadium on Sunday night, and then it’s off to Aviba Stadium in Dublin for a three-show stand from Friday, June 18 to Sunday, June 30.
