People will once again be told to shut up and sit down when Karen's Diner On Tour returns to Devon later this year. The unique chain, which has rude staff and shoddy service, is a hit across the globe.

While the nearest Karen's Diner is Brighton, Karen's Diner on Tour has already visited Devon once before in Plymouth - and they're returning to the same city, as part of a festive special.

Staff at Karen's Diner On Tour promise to go 'full Grinch' on their customers this December and they say they are expecting gifts. The event website asks customers 'why spend time with the ones you love, when you can be harrassed and given terrible service by our Karens'?

The venue is at a secret location at present and will soon be announced and there are several chances to experience the hilarious way of dining. Karen's will visit Plymouth on December 2 and December 3, with eight events in total.

Tickets are now available to purchase and include full entertainment and a delicious meal for 90 minutes. You can also upgrade to bottomless booze- which we would recommend following our visit this summer .

The Explore Hidden website, which organises the events, states: " We're coming BACK to town on tour for our CHRISTMAS SPECIAL you all best be ready for our KARENS to go full Grinch! Christmas is a time for giving (Abuse) receiving (Abuse) Caroling (Happy Birthday F*!"$ OFF) and giving gifts to US! Why spend time with the ones you love when you can be harrassed and given terrible service by our KARENS!

Karen's Diner UK's rudest restaurant is coming back to the West Country

Karen's Diner, the pop-up sensation known for its uniquely brutal dining experience, is marked to make a comeback in the South West. Offerings extend to commendable food - but little else. While not suitable for those of a delicate disposition, many locals attended the 2023 pop-up and thoroughly enjoyed their visit. Former PlymouthLive journalist Zhara Simpson was among them, admitting she'd gladly return, despite being derided a psychopath for consuming her burger with cutlery - a fair point to note, one might argue.

The event organisers said: "A truly authentic Karen's experience, put on by the people who know how to do it best, the OG Karens. With the experience, you will get the classic hat and all the games you will find inside the original diners! The venue will provide incredible food (so we hope), and we will take care of all the insults."

Karen's Diner caters for allergies and has veggie/vegan options. It is noteworthy that the ticket prices cover the meal alone, but drinks can be purchased on the day. But Be aware that tables may be mixed based on the table plan, hence there might be opportunities to meet unfamiliar faces - which could turn out to be exciting or maybe not.

The company behind Karen’s Diner and Broadway Diner has gone into liquidation - less than a year after shutting down its restaurant in Prestwich .

In June, the Bury venue of Karen’s Diner, which features ‘rude’ servers, closed its doors . A week later, the company closed its Broadway Diner venue, which saw servers break out into song as diners ate, at the Trafford Centre after just eight months.

At the time, the owner of the two concepts Viral Venues said it was closing the sites as part of a reshuffle of the brands into pop-up touring ventures, like Karen’s Diner On Tour and Broadway Events On Tour. During its lifetime as a restaurant in the UK, Karen's Diner was visited by the likes of Davina McCall and Katie Hopkins.

Liquidators for Viral Ventures, which first started in Australia before going into liquidation in the country last year , have now been appointed as a result of ‘mounting financial pressure’, which is said to have included the presentation of a winding up petition by a creditor.

The company, which has 77 staff members with the majority being on zero-hour contracts, has recently advertised Karen’s Diner on Tour events in cities including Liverpool, Plymouth, Newcastle and Glasgow. The events were billed as including food, as well as party games and being subjected to ‘insults’ from the staff.

Liquidators said they are aware that more than 2,500 clients have paid for events that are ‘now very unlikely to take place’. Customers who have made bookings with deposits for future shows, which include dates in Glasgow advertised for this weekend, are now being encouraged to contact their credit card providers, as insurance protections may be in place to assist with refunds.

Jeremy Frost and Patrick Wadsted, of Frost Group Limited, were today (September 16) appointed as liquidators for the company. Frost, Director of Frost Group Ltd, said: "It is always a challenging moment when a business, especially one with the reach of Viral Ventures, is forced into liquidation.

“We understand the disappointment and concern, particularly for those with deposits for upcoming shows. Our priority is to guide those affected through this process and ensure the necessary steps are taken."

Frost Group Ltd said it is working closely with all parties involved to facilitate the best possible outcome. A dedicated website has been launched for customers, creditors and employees to submit enquiries.

Frost added: "We extend our sympathy to the employees, customers, and creditors at this difficult time. We encourage anyone impacted to visit the website for guidance on the next steps and available resources."

If no availability is showing this means we are fully booked. If this happens you can try to walk-in but please note we cannot guarantee a seat and there may be long wait times.
• How Can I Amend My Booking? Open up your OpenTable booking and use the message feature with your reservation to inform us of changes - the team will then see if they can adjust for your group. You can also email [email protected] to change your reservation size.
• Can I Walk In? We can't stop you but we do encourage everyone to try and book online. We are extremely busy (go us) and therefore waits can be large and tables are not guaranteed without a booking.

I wish i could leave 0 stars. Booked this in may for today in plymouth. Got to the venue, and after asking a few members of hotel staff we were told that karens diner cancelled the event. Did they let us know?? Of course not. Have they offered a refund?? Of course not. I will be fighting for my refund now, and taking this further. Absolute SCAM!!! How is this even allowed?? 😡

Absoloutely dreadful - don’t waste your money!

Absoloutely dreadful - do NOT waste your money! £130 on two tickets - the food was appalling you would get better in McDonald’s! Burger and chips similar to kids birthday party meal and frozen mini desserts no drinks or even water included in the price. Apart from food - the acting was embarassing! Not witty at all, just a man with a microphone screaming swear words and telling everyone to F off.

Unnecessary insults to my disabled son

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from a male member of staff towards my disabled son over the phone! He simply rang to make a reservation and was spoken to terribly and was left upset.. I understand the concept of staff being rude whilst dining at the restaurant thats the whole idea. But whilst trying to book a table is a complete different service.. was quite looking forward to going. But after that wouldn't try there. Totally inappropriate and uncalled for..

Fake- do not book!!

Turned up having spent £100’s on tickets and it did not exist! No venue had ever been booked, we lost hundreds. They sent an email AFTER the date we had booked saying it had been cancelled due to sickness however the venue we spoke to said they’d never been booked. There were lots of others there too in the same position, no response from company- do not give them your money!!

Still waiting on a refund from them, they don't answer calls, live chat is faulty if you ask about refunds and Emails are replied with a fob off automatic reply. Completely ripped us off. Avoid! Still waiting for a refund two months later!

A couple of weeks before the Derby Event they emailed to say they couldn't offer the Bottomless Drinks package and they'd send a refund. Two months later still waiting for a refund - advised them this evening that I will be taking them to Small Claims Court if the money isn't in my account in two weeks. Sarah doesn't reply to emails, I've now sent 5 chasing emails all of which are ignored.

Absolutely dreadful

Absolutely dreadful. Just a massive disappointment. Waaayyyy too many people in a warehouse with dreadful acoustics.. 4 or 5 servers for probably 200 customers, all of whom had to firefight a chaotic food and drink situation. This all meant literally seconds only of interaction with staff, when you could barely hear a word they were saying. Just dreadful. Good concept, delivered absolutely dreadfully. Felt sorry for the staff, as they literally had no opportunity to perform.

DON’T BOTHER!!! SCAMMERS

BEST WORDS OF ADVICE, DON’T BOOK KARENS ON TOUR!!… Booked Karen’s on tour for 5 of us to go and celebrate mine and my husbands anniversary in Newcastle on the 5th August 2023. Turned up to find the event was apparently cancelled, no email, no phone call, or apology, absolutely nothing & £112.50 lighter. Absolutely fuming as not only was it a big disappointment to our special day, but us and our friends are struggling hard financially with the current economy and couldn’t really afford to pay a second time to eat else comfortably without a struggle.

I just want a refund.

Like other commenters, I'm here after trying to pursue a refund. These guys are totally nonresponsive... and this is after they canceled our local tour TWICE. I was willing to go along with the first reschedule since the date worked out, but I'm not going to keep changing my plans every time the next date approaches when they decide they're going to push it back yet again. I'd give them zero stars if ai could.

Complete scam Glasgow cancelled no refund!

EDIT : PAUL LEVIN. - as UK operations manager can you guarantee us our money back? Complete scam. I booked tickets for Glasgow (12th August) back in June. On 6th August I get an email to say it's cancelled, offering two alternative dates, one being in Edinburgh. I can't attend either dates due to being out of the country for one, and the opposite end of the country for the other. I've asked for a £179 refund from them and the ticket agent - Hidden. Neither are responding. I believe this is a mass fraud. DO NOT BOOK.

Like most people on here , I booked Newcastle in August got cancelled only few hours before the event You need to email them nearly every day to get a refund it takes months I’m not sure how they still manage to keep a business going Cancelling is one thing poo happens but when they don’t refund you in a decent time without you having to message constantly to get your money back it’s an absolute poo show ! Cancelled an hour before at Newcastle

Cancelled an hour before at Newcastle. No coincidence that Loosefest was cancelled and the venue advertised that they would open earlier so basically cancelled because the pub could earn more! Promised a refund in 7 days - nothing, then asked for my bank details. Still nothing! We were booked for 5th August and are now £178 out of pocket and from reading other reviews they having refunded others. Absolute disgrace

So Much Fun!

My Sister and I went to the Roasting Britain by Karen's Diner tour at Jukebox in Romford. We had a brilliant time and the servers were excellent. The food was good too. We would definitely do it again!!

Karens in Newcastle - THE TRUTH

The Karens team arrived hours before the event was to open in the Bohemia in Newcastle. They were told that the caterer had refused to work and had left the venue due to the conditions being inadequate and unsafe. Then they were given a room that wouldn't hold the capacity booked. They had no choice but to cancel. The company found a nearby alternative venue but if people preferred a refund then repayments will be completed by close of business on Tuesday.The whole Karen's team lost money and so they are pleased that their company decided to take 'Breach of contract" legal action against the venue. They share the disappointment that all customers have had to experience.

Edinburgh Tour Was Absolute Garbage. Please do not waste your money on this total scam. What you see online in the full time diners is NOT what you get in the pop up tour. Waited 45 min in a narrow staircase to get seated. Another 40 mins to get any food and drinks - we knew to expect ‘bad service’ but this was on another level. Absolutely no interaction of any kind from KD staff, young KD ‘waiters’ thinking walking around with a sullen face is entertainment, a few swear words as the only ‘laughs’ Seriously a total waste of time and money. The global franchise should be ashamed and embarrassed at such a poor effort.

Still waiting a refund

We booked with the tour and our venue was rearranged. Unfortunately for to holidays we were unable to make the new date so we requested a refund! That was over 2 months ago!!!! I have emailed repeatedly called and left messages and still no refund!!! I wouldn’t mind if it hadn’t been their decision to rearrange!!! Definitely following up with their terrible customer service reputation although waiting for £300 is not a laughing matter!!

Disgusting Karen’s on tour treatment

Shocking treatment. They cancelled Newcastle at short notice rearranged twice and then they wanted to change the date for a third time to which we said no. Like many other reviewers was asked for bank details so we could be refunded but after a month still nothing. We are owed over £350 not to mention money lost on train tickets and babysitters. I’ve emailed again and will be taking further action if no response. They should be stopped from carrying on with this appalling treatment of people. Other date of non experience was 2nd sept 2023

Chase & Status are coming to Plymouth in 2025 as part of a huge new UK arena tour. The London electronic music duo will hit the road in April and May.

Saul Milton and Will Kennard have announced dates at arenas in eight cities. Their Plymouth Pavilions show will see them performing with their live band and special guests, to be announced in due course.

The tour announcement follows a big summer of gigs for Chase & Status, including their biggest show to date at Milton Keynes National Bowl. And they enlisted none other than Hollywood star Jason Statham to announce their tour - in a nod to their similar-sounding names.

The action star said in a video filmed on Instagram: “The music insists, this ain’t guesswork. You don’t know us – you feel us. Don’t be thinking this is logical – don’t be thinking at all. Between your heartbeat and the drumbeat, purpose lies. Where you lose yourself is where you find us.”

He then adds: “This is Chase & Status live. Oh, I’m sorry. Did you have other plans?"

Chase and Status will be at Plymouth Pavilions on May 7, 2025. Tickets will go on sale on September 26 at 10am. Find out more HERE .
