Television Centre hosts the production of over 2000 hours of TV a year. Guests are guided around the home of ITV Daytime in White City, West London, hearing stories and insights directly from the studio floors.

Passionate tour guides offer never-before-revealed insights into the creation of some of the nation’s favourite shows, from seeing inside the creative department of This Morning , to how the set of Lorraine is dramatically transformed into that of Loose Women in less than an hour. There’s opportunity to read the weather on the Good Morning Britain set, and to hear from the stars of the shows themselves through specifically created video footage played at each stop.

The ITV Daytime Studio Tour also includes plenty of opportunity for pictures and selfies on the iconic sets – including the famous This Morning sofa – and explores the production corridors which lead to the green rooms, production offices, make-up areas and more.

An absolute must-see for any daytime TV aficionado, the tours offer genuinely exciting anecdotes and facts about the shows. Navigating the many corridors and stairs that supply the surprisingly intimate studios, visitors are offered a unique insight into the impressive work that brings the shows to life.

“We’re delighted to be welcoming viewers to our studios to get even closer to our flagship shows Good Morning Britain , Lorraine , This Morning and Loose Women ,” says Emma Gormley, MD ITV Studios Daytime. “We’re proud to produce some of the UK’s most popular shows and their fans – our viewers – are extremely important to us, making this even more of an exciting opportunity.”

ITV Daytime moved to the White City location last year, having previously called South Bank home. With 27,000 sq ft of space and over 350 staff, the studios remain one of the most important in the world of broadcasting here in the UK.

The ITV Daytime Studios Tour joins other ITV live events such as Coronation Street The Tour, Emmerdale Village Tour, and This Morning Live.

The tours last approximately 90 minutes with access to three of the four sets on any given tour, depending on production that day. Weekend and weekday tours are also available.

Tickets for the ITV Daytime Studios Tour are available now through Ticketmaster.co.uk .

ITV Daytime Shows

2018-Present

We facilitate Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women from our Television Centre facility.

In January 2018 a joint project between us and ITV Studios Daytime commenced in earnest to deliver the technical fit-out and building works required to accommodate Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women at Television Centre.

From 16 April 2018, all four shows began broadcasting from Television Centre. Good Morning Britain and This Morning share Studio TC3, with their sets sitting back-to-back across the 8,000 sq. ft. studio floor. Lorraine and Loose Women both reside in the adjacent 3,430 sq. ft. Studio TC2, with a daily turnaround between the sets after Lorraine goes off-air.

“We produce 6.5 hours of live content every weekday so a seamless transition to our new home at Television Centre was essential. We are delighted to have jointly achieved this with BBC Studioworks and look forward to continuing our trusted relationship over the coming years”

Emma Gormley, Managing Director, ITV Studios Daytime

The turnaround is achieved in approximately 45 minutes by the scenic and technical teams. Not an easy feat considering there are 51 set pieces including 13 LED screens and monitors. To aid the process, the studios benefit from a touch screen system, meaning all hoisting operations can be controlled and managed safely and efficiently from the studio floor.

In addition to scenic operations, our electrical and engineering teams support the four shows to ensure seamless production every weekday morning.

As part of welcoming ITV Studios Daytime to Television Centre, we undertook internal reconfiguration work within our ancillary areas to create a production zone for each of the four shows, ensuring each programme has its own dedicated and branded area. Each zone houses dressing rooms, wardrobe, make-up, technical and other support facilities.

We also kitted out five onsite edit suites to support the shows, and worked in partnership with ITV Studios Daytime’s technical team to modify the existing studio galleries to tailor them to the needs of Daytime broadcasting.

Within the sound galleries, an IP-based radio mic and IEM system have been implemented for each studio with full coverage to all other shooting areas used by ITV Studios Daytime. The comms system has also been expanded with extra panels installed in the production galleries and offices. This links to the comms system at WestWorks, 0.4 miles down the road from Television Centre, where ITV Studios Daytime’s main office is situated.

The team also makes extensive use of our Bolero DECT wireless system offering seamless connectivity across the whole Television Centre site.

The ETC Cobalt lighting desks had additional fader wings installed and the software adapted to run the large number of lighting channels required to operate two shows from one gallery, with new LED-based lighting rigs introduced into studios TC2 and TC3.

The router infrastructure was also expanded to accommodate the large number of incoming lines and additional sources that shows like Good Morning Britain and This Morning require.

To aid outdoor filming, we installed wall boxes across the wider Television Centre site – including one in the garden at the front of the building, one in the iconic central Helios concourse and one on a raised balcony overlooking the London skyline. Since going live in April 2018, the shows have been regularly using these outside spaces for entertainment segments and trails to introduce guests.

In October 2018, ITV announced it will be selling its former HQ on the South Bank and will continue broadcasting live from Television Centre for the foreseeable future.

Taylor Swift returns to UK for first live shows since foiled terror plot

Fans of superstar Taylor Swift have been coming together to support those who had tickets for the cancelled sell-out shows in Austria - with many offering up their own for the Wembley gigs in London.

Fans arrive at Wembley

Taylor Swift returns to Wembley this evening for her first live performance since shows in Austria were called off, after an alleged planned terrorist attack was foiled.

Swift has already played three dates at the England football stadium as part of her record-breaking Eras gigs, and is now back for five more - the last of which will mark the end of the tour's European leg.

Her first London shows were among the most memorable of the tour, with the star bringing out her American football player boyfriend Travis Kelce for a surprise appearance on stage during one.

As always, there is huge excitement among Swifties lucky enough to get tickets this time round. Those fans in the standing area will be queuing up early to potentially secure a front-row spot and no doubt swapping friendship bracelets and bonding over their shared love of the star.

But it has been a difficult few weeks.

In July, three young girls died following a stabbing at a dance class inspired by her music in Southport, Merseyside.

Following the attack, Swift said in a post on Instagram that she was "completely in shock" and "at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families".

Just days later, all three of Swift's shows in Vienna, due to take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday last week, were cancelled over a suspected terrorist plot .

Fans of the superstar have been coming together to support those who had tickets for the sell-out shows in Austria - with many offering up their own.

Catherine Santamaria, 47, from Buckinghamshire, was due to attend a Vienna show with her 14-year-old daughter, Carla. After hearing about the cancellation, they decided to continue with their trip to the city to "make the best of it" and meet other fans.

"We were obviously quite sad when we arrived but we started looking online and saw Swifties were gathering in central Vienna," Ms Santamaria said. "It was just the sweetest atmosphere, everybody was exchanging friendship bracelets, singing and doing their best to get over being heartbroken."

The pair have since managed to secure tickets to Monday's concert at Wembley thanks to a fellow Swiftie.

Ms Santamaria wrote about their situation on an online fan group, and received a message from a woman in America who was offering to sell her tickets.

"She sold them to me at face value, which is just unheard of," she said. "What's lovely about the Swiftie community is just how devoted they all are and they're so generous. We wouldn't be going it if wasn't for this other Swiftie."

Cristina Jones, creator of the viral Swifties for Southport JustGiving page, told the PA news agency how she has given her Wembley ticket away for free to a fan who had been set to see the star in Vienna.

Ms Jones, 29, said: "I thought it was just nice to give it away to someone who couldn't go simply because Vienna was cancelled for the right reason," she said. "It was nice to be able to see that someone who hasn't been able to go to The Eras Tour is now able to go."

She said she set up an online giveaway process to offer her ticket to one lucky fan.

"She was really excited, until I sent the ticket I don't think she realised it was going to be real," Ms Jones said.

Security reassurances

Wembley officials have put out a reminder about security ahead of the gigs, but a spokesperson for the stadium told Sky News they are the same measures that were in place for the previous shows in June.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said there is "nothing to indicate that the matters being investigated by the Austrian authorities will have an impact on upcoming events here in London".

After Swift's last show at Wembley on Tuesday 20 August, the mammoth Eras tour then takes a break. The final shows take place in Canada, resuming in Toronto in November and finishing in Vancouver the following month.

The Eras Tour is the biggest-selling of all time, with more than $1bn (£780m) in ticket sales in 2023, according to Pollstar Boxoffice, which collects data on the live music industry. By the end of this year, that figure is expected to rise to more than $2bn.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour is returning to London's Wembley Stadium after alleged Vienna plot. Here's what to know.

By Haley Ott

August 13, 2024 / 11:58 AM EDT / CBS News

London - Taylor Swift's Eras Tour is scheduled to return to London on Thursday in the star's first performances since authorities said they thwarted an attack on her shows in Vienna . Tens of thousands of concertgoers are expected to attend at Wembley Stadium .

London's Metropolitan Police told CBS News on Tuesday that so far there had not been any threats that would prevent the concerts from going ahead in the British capital.

"London plays hosts to a significant number of very high profile events each year with millions of visitors having a safe and enjoyable experience. The Met works closely with venue security teams and other partners to ensure there are appropriate security and policing plans in place," a Metropolitan Police spokesperson told CBS News in a written statement on Tuesday. "There is nothing to indicate that the matters being investigated by the Austrian authorities will have an impact on upcoming events here in London. As always, we will continue to keep any new information under careful review."

Wembley Stadium warned fans who don't have tickets to the five shows that they won't be able to gather around the stadium during the performances.

"Anyone hanging around outside the stadium will be moved on by security," the stadium posted on its website .

Taylor Swift performs onstage during her Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium on June 22, 2024, in London.

Nick Aldworth, a former U.K. counterterrorism national coordinator, said law enforcement would "be trying to see if there is any residual or transnational threat that will be greater than their current threat assessment for these concerts and the entertainment sector more broadly" after the Vienna shows were canceled.

Aldworth said that it would most likely be the venue operators, rather than the police, who would decide to postpone or cancel a concert if there was a threat, but that doing so "would be seen as an extreme response and one that is probably unnecessary providing that they can assure themselves that there is security at the events capable of preventing acts of terrorism."

"The unknown in this equation is how vulnerable people are outside of the premises and whether other stakeholders including the police have the capacity and willingness to deal with that," Aldworth said.

Aldworth was the head of counterterrorism protective security in London in 2017, when the bombing at an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena killed 23 people including the attacker.

After that attack, there was an inquiry to establish how it happened and what went wrong in preventing it.

"There are several parallels between Wembley and Manchester Arena especially in terms of environmental layout and responsibilities sitting across different organizations who must work together to keep people safe," Aldworth told CBS News. "After the inquiry, all parties should have laser sharp precision in understanding how to work with each other."

Among the TV projects Kimmelot has fielded to date have been the ABC comedy specials dubbed “Live in Front of a Studio Audience,” featuring live remakes with contemporary stars of classic episodes of Norman Lear-produced sitcoms as “All in the Family” and “Good Times.” The 2020 edition won the Emmy for outstanding variety show. The franchise proved to a be a final bow for Lear, the legendary producer who died in December 2023 at age 101.

Kimmelot also produces the primetime quiz show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” for ABC. In April, the company launched the Hulu reality series “High Hopes,” following a pair of brothers from Belarus as they try to launch a cannabis business in Hollywood.
